Retired

Strolling around town
At prohibited time
Ignoring the church bell sounds
While I see people hurrying
Down the sidewalk
On their way to work

Think maybe I'll find
Pen and paper
And have a coffee somewhere

Or maybe not

Little Baby Jesus

The crowded streets are cold
And her bottle's getting dry
She can hear the Baby Jesus
As he's singing in the sky
Cold rain is pouring down
There's winter in the air
People spending money
And there's christmas everywhere

With a bottle for her sickness
And a toast for the healed
A quick prayer for the wounded
On her christmas battlefield
A street light is her holy star
as her christmas make-believe
And a cardboard on the pavement
Is her home for christmas eve

She has no christmas gift
No christmas story she can tell
She's got a basket full of junk
And a body she can sell
Some says she'll never be forgiven
For her dirty kind of trade
But if one can buy forgivness
she already has paid

The sun is always shining
Down on some folks head
They never have to starve
Or to beg for daily bread
They give each other gifts
While Baby Jesus cry in vain
As he is begging them to stop
And help a human in the rain

Men will call her hooker
As their rising appetite
Make them use her body
In their lousy lonely night
It is cold and it is christmas
The whole world is standing still
And since noone else will help her
Let's hope Baby Jesus will...

Time Is Water

Time is water running free
running wild into the sea
Sometimes slow sometimes fast
you try your best to make it last

Time is known to always pass
flowing down your hourglass
All around you - always new
you see it melt like morning dew

Time is floating in thin air
you try to fetch it pure and clear
But you just have to let it go
slip it through by breathing slow

Time is candles burning bright
bringing warmth, love and light
In a flickering timeless blast
the glowing flame of time has passed

Time and water
uncontrolled
Feel it flow
by growing old

Dip Your Cigar In Your Whisky

You say that you're drowning
Cos your good girl is gone
Gone with her makeup
and her swollen silicon

You're begging for pity
Well here is a plan
Dip your cigar in your whisky
And take it all like a man

You say that your world
Is falling apart
And you good girl's departure
Is eating your heart

You're collecting sorrow
in a black box of tears
You drown in your memories
And say nobody cares

Well I tell you I care
And here is my plan
Dip your cigar in your whisky
And take it all like a man

Four Roses For My Baby

Two whisky for my dinner
Three Guinness for my gold
Four roses for my baby
As i sit here growing old

Some songs for the silver
A singers for the song
One hand for applause
And a softly sing-along

Four roses for my baby
And that was all she got
To tell her who I am
And to tell her what i'm not

I will send a letter
To tell her where I am
If I find the money
I will send a telegram

A Guinness for my morning
Some whisky for my night
Four roses for my baby
To make my future bright

The World Is Silent

all the big amplifiers
are sleeping
and the silence is resounding
after the concert
you would attend
is cancelled

In the Tiny Light From a Chandelier

A tiny light from the chandelier
Made my shadows of sorrow dissapear
In a sudden flash I saw all your men
Singing "I'll be back, but I don't know when"

Santa is here and he wants your kiss
You have never seen him quite like this
And though is story is rather grim
He's got gifts for those who believe in him

Also Jesus said he'll be back some day
Some say he never left here anyway
But he told you once and he told you twice
Be a good girl and he'll treat you nice

Brown leaves crash in my window glass
They used to be green but all things must pass
The third time that the rooster craws
It's bye-bye to the savior and to Santa-Claus

A tiny light from a chandelier
Made my shadows of sorrow dissapear
Then in a dream your men stood in line
Eating your cookies - drinking your wine

Fly Away

Sitting here exchanging words
Lost like hungry - wingless birds
Hungry - lost like a homeless child
Running free and running wild
No matter which words we use
We know we both will lose

This is a war no one can win
we both turn the other chin
we both try another view
Try to find something new
But whatever we do or say
You know I can never stay

So I’ll fly away - fly way
I leave at night to find the day
Fly away fly away
You never thought I would stay
anyway

I always wanted to be the one
that fought the war and always won
When I am gone there is no war
Nothing to fight for any more
I hate the day so I’ll leave at night
To make my shadows shine on bright

You never saw the winds of change
Never heard our words grow strange
You never felt there was a war
or anything worth fighting for
So wherever you will go from here
You will know that I’m not there

The Crash

Me and my motorbike went out on a trip
As a black leather phantom i looked cool and hip
But with the sun in my eyes the bike did crash
And my whole life was passing by in a flash

I was afraid of dying but my bike didnt care
Like Bob Dylan's Triumph it sailed through the air
I heard the engine was pumpin with a steady beat
And it smashed to the ground with me underneath

The gods had a meeting and they all did decide
that the joke was on me and noone had died
with a pain in my shoulder that was burning like hell
I knew that I just got a story to tell

With dope from my doctor and wine from my wife
I sat and thought about the luck in my life
how it could have ended with a big-bang that day
I bowed my head and I started to pray:

"Dear gods of the road and the motorbikes too
I just wanna say that i like what you do
Like Dylan and me you let bikers survive
To write beautiful songs, hit the highways and drive"

Between the Sidewalk and the Busy Street

The town is eaten by hungry cars
And the all-night-people crowd the bars
Tell them all - they can have my seat
Between the sidewalk - and the busy street

The city lights point your forward path
Through the wild party and the aftermath
The sign on the wall is bittersweet
Between the sidewalk - and the shining street

The town is fading in the pale blue light
Young girls cry and the young boys fight
A child is pointing down the street somewhere
But noone knows where to go from here

You found a button and you like to push
You pour your beer on the burning bush
The street gets hotter and you burn your feet
Between the sidewalk - and the busy street

The drunkards dance and the music's wild
Songs of hate and a screeming child
Loud and clear you can feel the beat
Between the sidewalk - and the dying street
