Angel

I saw an angel
flying up high
freedom and purity soars

I caught it
clipped its wings
and asked it to be my friend

But dear angel
cried to heaven,
"now I will bleed for sure"

wild passion caresses
sweet passion burlesques
dear angel exists no more

Feverish Pigs

Dizzy gratitude in the laze of noon,

Ink parading splendour on sheets of paper,

Gone is the beautiful world,

Reduced to minute filigree,

And hello to grades of redshift ladder,

Ascend my passion to prestige, where

Lecturers’ preaches are to the deafs,

Words come in sleepless thousands,

Words within words in disillusion,

Oh imagine the look on inspired immortals,

Seeing us digging in slavish faints, for

No pot of gold. No pursuit of searing passion,

Just a piece of paper at the end of the rainbow,

Seeds of knowledge to sow, an echoed

Numbness in cavernous silence,

Our lives a game of chasing tail,

Awaiting the end of a sentence.

Time’s up. Stop writing.

I Set My Eyes On You

The moment I set my eyes on you
I see faith boundless by words
Bountiful and true
Albeit a bashful glance
Once is enough
To look deeper down the path
Teaching me how to feel

Aye me a fool in a Mirage of fools
Darting through the labyrinth of vanity
Searching for the missing piece aimlessly
An elixir, a companion, a tempest of passion
There was no me in this foreign sea
There was no you, a lost pearl I fancied

For in you I see,
Faith and Hope that beaconed through me
Forgive me for the testing time
Forgive my tardy mind
In this heart its love I seek

Deny me a road of tingling familiarity
Deny me a whiff of blissful serendipity
And life befalls my death sentence
A seal of undiscovered adventures
A tragedy of soul: a hollow tenure

And I have found today
Love for sure, Love so pure
As we walk hand in hand
Weaving fond memories
Braving Life’s adversities

You are
A chapter in completion

Five years down the road
The morning dusk lingers on...

Ka'Abah

Why square? I wondered
Drifting together in a stream of faith;
Broken promises, shattered ambitions, hopeful desperation and the misled
Like a river we flow
Revolving, spinning, orbiting
Here, at this very place
Here lies the direction for those who seek
But why square?
A myriad of people from various walks of life
Flocked in this once barren land
Like migratory birds they came, with a call to answer
A rhythm to complete
As did the one who built it
But why square?
Perhaps it’s the rigidity, or the flaw-seeking locals,
Or the bawling puppets who stick like mould to stone
Wonder if it’s justified to ask so many questions
After all, it is not meant to complicate
Repulsiveness surged in me
Now’s not the right time...
To commit is to surrender; bare and defenseless
My mind’s a web and heart infested

Perhaps
It’s for those who spiral southwards
For in the square’s a circle of solace

Deceit

Care to whisper? Care to cry?
This heart is incapacitate, hollow and dry
A thousand wishes, flew like feathers
Beyond this brood canvas sky

Be you mine and I shall sing
A lullaby of charm tingling
Beneath the old forgotten tree
Wistful dream of sugar-coated lies
Endowed with soft persuasive banter

How did you reach me with skillful silence?
Rob my face from underneath my feet
Kill me with tender illicit glimpse
Unknown by many, but heart to heart alone
Bending binds that entangles in faith
Breeding rage, feeding vengeance

The candle that is lit flickers in shiver
Fearing its abominable end, dauntingly premature
It will never come, this heart insists
Alas, no one can be sure if the virus persists
Heaving in parasitical overture, spreading with nonchalant defiance
Feasting upon vision of triumph, where one that burns,
Burns no more

What is left then, my dear?
Just you and me, in this abysmal silence
A cavernous gap nonetheless, preaching baseless
Beauty, radiating shades of elusive splendour
What is left for you, me…?

Villa

Welcome to the illicit villa
Where people come and go
A brief warmth of the palm
A touchy heart, a hearty laugh
Then out through the elusive door
Customary customers they are called,
All young and old

Accommodations are provided
Free advice and service for all
Short of mannequins? Just give us a call!
We are your humble servants
Blood, tears and gall

And the young ones
Oh, the tunneled youths
Passion burn like head of matchsticks
Uneven mushrooms they sprout
Under veils of deceiving shade
Growing too fast for their own liking

And yes, the pillars
Who can forget the pillars?
Stay rooted despite the trouble
Though the sky’s a grey all faded
Though the Sun all sullen and jaded
Unfazed by daunting clouds of doubts
Oh, they know no passion

Can’t stop the door from shutting
The cold wind whistles through
A pipe of melancholy, when all remains true
What’s unbecoming cannot be undone

To fade away
With the wind of passion
To be enslave in an unbroken faith
The freedom to stay
The choice is ours to take…

Love's Metamorphosis

Love unspoken, love that burns
Never gone, never wither
It lingers on every bated breathe
An invisible pain that never wane
A distant dream
Fleeting from within
Here lies the scar so dead
So do I love, you say
Why the haunt is here to stay?
Appease, dear love
What joys lie in fearful sorrow?
For a shadow brings no harm to tomorrow
Love is a constant in the variables
Love is a change in the certainty
These two tales are apart
A heart in stitches, once all tattered
A broken road, now amended
No love is a kind unless we love selfishly
So fret not, dear love
This love we grow
Is ours to keep and ours truly
Never gone, never wither
Love forsworn, love reborn

Love's Theorem

Let there be you, in
This world for two, where
Dreams and reality
Intertwined, infinitely,
The stars are through and true
In perfect rendition,
A fixed condition,
For such equation is
A mystified truth,
That only exists in the form of you
And me. A belief
To a better dream
After dream unfold, a hopeful
Eternity.

Old Guard

Time stood still
The clockwork cranked
Eyes not used to venture
The gift of sight conjures

The unsaid is the animated
Affection in forms all coded
Our legitimate silence

Omniscient eyes used to scour
Through covert heart that wander,
Where words and sarcasm are symbiosis,
Egos pulverized, reduced to effervescence
Words that cut, words that shut
This ample heart loves in cower

Things change…People change
The hair is now a crop of grey
The eyes a steady current. Eyelids lowered
Words he utters
A simmering boundary; dormant yet tenacious

Where is the man I fear?
Where is he whose wrath I quiver?
Where was I when you love me so dear...?

All this time we fail to see
We talk in different tongues
Swallow bitterness like drugs
Those three simple words stood
Apart like cliffs of gaping ravine
We stay muted to protect each other
We end up hurting one another

How I wish to tell you
How blessed I am to have you
How I wish to hug you
To thank for all you have been through

This unlawful silence
Will it break,
Before the sun sets
With all it takes?

Believe In Me

I believe
That we are at a peak
Leaning on a tree trunk
Strongly rooted and reaching out to the milky sky
And as we lay our heads on one another
My arms crowning yours
Our eyes lay affixed on the horizon
How beautiful the sun’s stained rays are
Emerging, they suffused with the cotton riddled sky
Such radiance in one’s balance
To think that a moment ago the sky’s jet black darkness
With trickles of stars to barely show us the sign
And suddenly, far out in the east, beams of light
Transcends the dark, illuminating the sky

Now it’s perfect daylight
And we immersed into one another’s
Eyes, knowingly
Storms will come, gales never at bay
But for all nature’s plights
We’ll never barge from this tree
Cos’ against all nature’s cruelty
We will still have each other
