Itching

My son is always on the wings of hurricane
though he breathes as a gentle breeze
No doubt, one day his father may be uprooted
Like a juggler he plays, not with balls,
         but with dates and figures.

Dad tell me about this pact
Dad tell me about that treaty
Dad who were on the other side
         Dad who were they

But his father keeps mum always
Why should one slip over the moss
Silence is the panacea to switch off his libido

         That night was not unusual
His questions paraded before a drooped head

Reeling in the whirls of intoxication
I dissolved my self in a peg of vodka
Locked the dungeons of past, present and future
         Sprouted in his mother's veins

         I melted her with kisses

         But somewhere in the darkness
         I could hear wriggling, groaning
         Paws groping,jaws widening

I could feel a medal swelling on my chest
         Blood is crying,sweat is gasping

My friend, let me be frank
         That night,from head to heel
         itching snailed over me.Still scratching

An unhealed wound is burning as an ember.

Schizophrenia

Her 'Verses on Schizophrenia' was written
while both of us were immersed in Gauguin's

yellow ocher smudging the eves in Tahiti
on a bankrupted canvas throbbing to suck pigments

each stroke ripping the foils of rustic mystery
unfolded fathoms of emotions undeciphered in her skies

eclipsing the tulips of reason, erosioned roots underneath
her gaze was thrust on an ivy stretching hands

towards quivering wind perplexed to hide somewhere
paraphrased each pulse in to the prose of dead tissues

Her 'Verse on Schizophrenia' lies on the table
A meteor crosses through the heart of a syllable

Byju Road

Byju Road lies there

               cinnamon and cardamom
               in jars sigh intermittently
               of the forthcoming marriages
under the eaves of pawned property

               Barbie sits among the
               plastic flowers,covering
               the dust of indifference
               her eyes search the glow
on the edge of a child's last wish

               sliced vegetables and chopped meat
smeared in oil whimper on pans
               a maid peels onion
and her eyes well up with tears
a dagger glints over her skies

               fishmongers dry their saliva
               shouting and bargaining,then
               sell themselves;unveiled eyes of fish
               stare at their futile fate

               twilight curls up
               staggering feet and swaying heads
               monopolize the road; the stink
of vodka envelops the whole trial

Byju Road lies there, devoid of heart

Parallel Paths

Strived feet are
                                                                stumbled on this river bank
                                                                cold and slender fingers
wading through the rapture of ripples
                                                                reminding,
                                                                dying
                                                                dying,forever

                                                                eclipsed were the ways

                                                                pain strewn thorns
                                                                anguished astray
                                                                wavering wilderness
                                                                pensive plodding paths

                                                                wither,they
                                                                wither,forever

                                                                after
                                                                the light years
I know, you will map us
on the palm of a miser

The Portrait

No one has ever
                                               plunged in to her loneliness
                                               purging the moss
                                               of yesteryears

                                               sealed false promises
                                               on unquenched lips
                                               ploughed bedsheets
                                               mapping the maze of lust
                                               tears swept eyelashes
                                               coarse broken bangles

                                               on the mirror
                                               oozing days and nights
                                               make an aborted collage
                                               of stained sin

                                               no one has ever
                                               crept in to her canoe
                                               cracking the pod
                                               of yesteryears

Leaf

frozen leaves
                      bear the marks
                      of betrayal

                      a toss between
                      heaven and earth
                      counts down
                      an oscillated life

                      tonight
                      at my door steps
                      frayed and frozen
                      a leaf take its
                      last breath

                      dear, forgive me

Depth

Her fingers stroking my hair
and the beam of ray peeping
    through the window melt
    at this hour of shallowness.

I think of a mimosa blushing.

    Leaning against the wall
    she swallowed me
in to her bones and marrow, once.
A brimming river burst in our veins.

    I think of a fossil
    something hollow

    Out side the window
    the river lies there.
    A sinew just pulsating,
draining into the crust of the earth.

Wreath

I lie on a mound of earth
Ebb of agony swells my consciousness

              In the mist of farce
              figures fade out

              Innocence of paper boats
drowns in the floods of tears

              A rainbow ascends mourning
the lost kiss of little feet on its hunch

Butterflies flutter in to the crevices of oblivion
ignoring the touch of little fingers

              Forlorn and forsaken
I lie on a mound of earth

Rain seeks pores on my body

An Autobiography

She
                                  scribbles on the sands
                                  a shipwrecked autobiography

Tribute

Belated
                  confession
                  won't heal your wounds
                  I know

                  My chunk of heartbeats
                  won't smooth the string
                  of harp in heaven
                  I know

                  Yet
at the feet of your soul
                  trampled flowers, bleeding
                  worm eaten olive leaf, wavering

                  A crow opens burning beak
                  and gulps the full moon
