Prayers From Within

17.	PRAYER FROM WITHIN
Touch my heart where it hurts,
Heal all my emotional wounds and cuts.
Grease my heart with ointment of joy
So potent that no circumstance can destroy.

Touch my soul where it sickens
And my heart where it weakens.
Help me fulfill my purpose in life
And be my power over worldly strife.

Touch my heart where it deadens
And cause me to glorify the Heavens.
Make me your beloved, Dear God
And silence my foes with your mighty sword.

Sweeten my thoughts that had once been sour
That I may smile like a sun flower.
Endorse the re-birth of my destiny,
And protect me from Satan, man’s greatest enemy.

Ain'T Time

Precious stones- rubies and pearls
Adorn the belly of a golden vase.
Cool springs of water flows by,
Oh what a paradise! Ain't time for man to die;
Songs of the Robin and that of parakeet
Enveloping the air with melodies so sweet.
Calm whistles of the evening wind amidst the moonlight,
What an eden! Ain't time to say good night;
Peaceful chattering of the "oderee koko"
And the calming feel of sipping a hot cocoa.
The sexy dance of tall grasses amidst the rainfall,
What a beauty! Ain't never time for man's downfall.

When You Are Gone

Like the rabbits eat carrots
Thy body shall be eaten by maggots
When you’re no more breathing
And thy soul, taken into the heavenly ceiling.

You’re sand, to it you shall return
Then reap whatever you’ve done.
Then upon thy grave like a weeping sky,
Thunderously people may mourn and cry.

And once the funeral rites are performed,
With this world you have severed your bond.
Then, your loved ones shall leave you alone
And your properties become their own.

Fake Love

It may be rough, it may be tough
It may be viral enough to make you cough.
It may be hell of a circumstance to endure
and a severe emotional ailment to cure;

It may be devastating, heartbreaking,
A pain of a heartless' s making.
It may be disappointing an experience,
That continuously tests your faith and resilience;

It may be the reason for every Samson' s fall,
by every Delilah - A fake love after all.

Happy Birthday Nigeria

As our nation turns a year older
let's lend our hands and shoulders
to lift Nigeria higher than it is
and proffer a solution to its incurable disease;

In unison let's say no to corruption
and yes to halal consumption.
Let's pray for God's mercies and blessings
and from our mistakes let's draw lessons;

I love you Nigeria, the pride of the continent
I send you my warm compliment.

My Pen - Peller

It is in your sacred knowledge
That I have loved you since days of Higher College.
I was always shy to look you in the eyes
For those eyes were hot enough to melt my ice;

Today it remains the same
 I, a Lion you were able to tame.
I feel no shame telling you you’re my Cinderella
The inspiration that turns my pen to Peller;

Long as I shall live,
In beautiful poems I shall give –
Your beautiful nature beautiful words to keep
For this is the genius your love so equip.

Faithless Masses

When we agitated, they said we are mad
But they never cared to make us glad.
When we erupted like the volcano, they swore
But forgot our hearts that they tore.

We asked for necessities
But we were chased away by their securities.
We cried, that they might pity us,
But we were left alone to bear our cross.

We are supposed to be under their umbrella,
But we weren’t sheltered, hence we had to surrender.
Food isn’t affordable to eat,
And its been long since we’ve tasted meat.

Under the wicked sun with its rays red,
We saw their shinning daggers to dread.
All we asked for, is food, clothing and shelter,
But we were assaulted, and ran helter-skelter.

Politrickers, mock us not again
For our struggles would’t be in vain.
If we could survive these troubles,
We’ll forget the pain of these struggles.

I Lose Nothing

I have no other option
Than to smile at your mind’s adoption.
Of what value is joy that leaves in haste?
Of sweet honey that gives a bitter residual taste?
Just know dear lady, I lose nothing
The thoughts of you shall soon be forgotten.

I have no tears to shed
Than to smile that our romance is dead.
Of what use is fake love
Of piercing nails hidden under the glove?
Just know dear lady, I lose nothing
I shall smile soon of a true love begotten.

I have this good bye song to sing
Than to wait for a joy you’ll never bring.
Of what use is popcorn love to man?
Of a monstrous head hidden under a turban?
Just know dear lady, I lose nothing
Because the feelings I have for you are now rotten.

Fret Not, Dear Muses

Fret Not, I won't take thy places
For thou art my guide through life's various phases.
I may be growing in lyrical might but Nay!
I cannot take thy influences away.

You blessed me upon my birth,
And in Thy waters of lyrics I took my bath.
Fret Not Ye Muses that strengthen my pen,
So roars the lion from his den.
