Eve

Does the past really matter?
 Does it set you free?
I’m absorbed in the sin,
That is surrounding him and me.

Lost in the curiosity,
Cold to the touch.
Drenched in the poison,
With my dignity in his clutch.

Feeling like I was cheated;
I chose the evil instead of light.
I traded in the sunshine,
For what lurks in the night.

I disobeyed his orders,
I gave up security to be unsure.
I went against the warnings,
Gave into darkness instead of remaining pure.

Once my bed was made of soft grass,
But now it is made of stone.
Was plump from all of the luscious fruit,
Now I’m starving to the bone.

My curse is one of circumstance.
The punishment a crime,
I’m stuck inside this dampened cave,
For the rest of time.
My world came crashing down,
The grief has not subsided.
My heart broke completely,
When my sons collided.

My misery a token,
From the abandonment I earned.
Upon the time spent in sorrow,
There was a lesson to be learned.

Have I found the moral?
Only in time we shall see,
For all I did was eat an apple-
From the Knowledge tree.

Her Life

My past is a reoccurring nightmare.
This cycle is never broken.
My heart is filled with poison,
So are your veins.

Chains hang off of me as I try to break free.
I have lost myself somewhere within the years.
Age crept up slowly, and I started to see my life;
It was not what I had expected.

With every whisper of ‘I love you’,
Another crack spread across my delicate soul.
Hardened by the years of abuse;
Nothing can hurt me now.

Stripped from my innocence;
My confidence shattered like broken glass.
There is no escaping this.
I feel alone and unloved.

I was taken off guard,
Your words were a promise of security;
 Hope amongst a sea of sorrow.
 You were just another lie.

Depression doesn’t sum up my pain.
Death would not heal it,
For I have responsibilities;
I have people who need me.

I long for the day that this rotation ends.
I can be loved for being myself.
I will be taken care of.
I will be yours.

Delusion

Dreams they're all around me,

it's hard to tell real life.

Monsters like in fairly tales,

my emotion turns to strife.

The sun starts getting closer,

my skin it starts to burn.

I look for somewhere to run

but don't know where to turn.

He makes his way towards me majestic also wise,

it was hard for me to distinguish between what's loving and what's lies.

My heart it starts to flutter,

My body starts to fall-

I try to scream out for help

but I don't know who to call.

Thus the journey's over,

now I'm on the ground.

Tears fall from my eyes-

my heart nowhere to be found.

Falling In Like

I love it when you hold me close, and always want to play.
How in the morning you message me; on every single day.
When you call me every night, before I close my eyes-
Or always tell the truth; never any lies.

When I get to see your passion with every story that you tell,
How even when you’re angry, those feelings never dwell.
I love that you protect me, from everything around;
That even when I’m lost, I know that I’ll get found.

I love that whenever you start to drive, you make me kiss your cheek.
How my stomach gets butterflies with each sweet word you speak.
That you cuddle me for a moment and then turn on your side,
That all of your accomplishments and family give you pride.

I love that you support every decision that I make,
That even if you’re embarrassed of things- you’ve never acted fake.
How you always want me to be happy, no matter how I feel.
That even when we make things up- it’s never been more real.

How you always make these plans, that often tend to change;
When you smile at my senseless jokes, and when I’m acting strange.
That you always say I’m pretty, even when I don’t think that it’s true-
How you think that I’d want anyone else; when all I want is you.

Distant Love

The hours dwindle slowly by-
When I want you by my side.
Longing to feel the warmth of your breath
As you kiss away my pride.

The anger melts away,
When I'm held within your arms.
My balance quickly faltering;
As I fall for all of your charms.

The weeks are always longer-
When I don't get to have you near.
Wishing that I could run to you-
The distance heightening my fear.

The hours go by rapidly-
When you are finally home.
 Leaving me all by myself;
With my thoughts to roam.

The cycle starts all over-
I'm wishing that you were free.
Longing to feel the warmth of your breath.
Until you come right back to me.

A Feeling That I Knew Too Well

A feeling that I knew too well;
With every word you spoke I fell-
Falling deeper into the bliss;
Longing for your every kiss.

Without you here my heart grows fonder;
Around the park I start to wander-
And think about how you make me feel-
The longing starting to become surreal.

Giving meaning to my life,
You lift me up from pain and strife.
I thought it was a feeling that I knew-
But with your guidance the passion grew.

Spiraling up with every touch-
Never wanting to leave your clutch.
Waiting for your familiar glance-
Missing you with every chance.

Subconscious On My Mind

She visits in my dreams,
A place that I love to go,
For when my body is sleeping;
My subconscious starts to show.

She is not the same as when I’m awake,
She is fierce and unafraid;
She watches over the pillows,
Where my head is soundly laid.

She has wings just like an Angel,
Only hers are made of light;
With brilliant rainbow hues,
Enough to shine throughout the night.

To me she looks much older,
Maybe even wise;
One look at me and I know,
She can see right through my lies.

For her and I are one,
No hiding from the truth;
She understands that I’m growing,
Developing from my youth.

She never passes judgment,
For herself would be included;
Her thoughts are always brilliant;
And never convoluted.
I’m referring to my soul;
Aged throughout my lives.
She gives my words their meanings;
And my body is what she drives.

Inspiring my movements,
And wiping all of my tears;
Her voice is mine but rings through,
My head and out my ears.

Perhaps it’s her who is writing this,
Giving me the rhyme;
My subconscious and my consciousness;
Working together for all of time.

Although most won’t understand this,
That it is about a different part of me,
Tonight under the full-moon;
I’m setting my spirit free.

Allowed to dance in the stars,
And run across the sky;
Only to return to our body,
Suppressing her urge to fly.

Awakening

Are we awake or are we still sleeping?
Blind to the hurt, and deaf to the weeping.
Ashamed of religion and supportive of the new,
Aware of the lies and hidden from what’s true.

Worship the evil and turn away the pure,
Developing disease with an unknown cure.
Starving the poor and overfeeding the wealthy.
Killing the sick and drugging the healthy.

Going to war for some kind of power,
Building tall structures over all types of flower.
Cutting the trees and polluting the air,
All out of greed, with no sort of care.

Turning us against our own,
And help from up above.
Making us beings of hate,
Instead of ones of love.

Demonizing the mystic,
Criticizing the wise.
Making our own family members,
Into people that we despise.

Awaken to the torment,
Be aware of all the pain.
Those who are misleading,
And claiming that we are insane.

The Bird and Bear

There once was a bird that had lost the ability to fly,
Beneath her the dirt, where once there was sky.
Unprotected and alone, the bird chirped a plea,
She was unable to soar and unable to flee.

Alone the bird braved the frosty breeze,
Surely with time, her feathers would freeze.
Along came a bear, which was as white as the snow.
The bird couldn’t flap- she had nowhere to go.

He cradled the bird within his massive paws,
He thought she was beautiful and didn’t notice her flaws.
The bird felt his warmth and saw his perfection,
The bird was quite brave, not fearing dissection.

She trusted the bear with all of her heart,
There was never a day where she’d wish them apart.
Nestled in the bears fur, there was no fright,
She had forgotten her wings lacked the ability of flight.

Although most would be astounded,
The bear taught the bird how to live and be grounded.
He helped her learn about herself, who she may be.
And in loving the bear, the bird’s soul was set free.

If We Met Again

If we met again;

would I know what to say?

How to act?

Who to be?

Would you fall in love again,

or walk all over me?

I wonder everyday;

would it be the same?

Could you ever smile

and take away the blame?

Do you know my motives;

for the decisions that I made?

How I would cry every night

on the pillow where I laid.

Should I bring up the past

or let you go and live?

Do you know how it felt,

having nothing left to give?

Do you remember the notes

of the song that you created?

All of the simple pleasures

and the passion when we dated.

Do you feel the anger,

from every fight that we had?

The fake facade and convincing,

that it was never really bad.

The promises and riddles,

the immaturity and fun.

The foolishness of thinking,

that you would be the one.

The sacrifices and endings.

The beginning feeling shy.

The last final moment,

when I whispered to you- goodbye.
