RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC

HONK HONK BEEP BEEP
SO TIRED OF THESE CITY STREETS
FUMES EXHAUST AND NOISE NEVER ENDING
HAVE I LOST IT
WELL THATS PENDING
GO AHEAD CUT ME OFF
TAKE THE RIGHT OF WAY
GO AHEAD FLIP ME OFF
CANT BE NICE TODAY
HONK HONK BEEP BEEP
ANOTHER MORNING COMMUTE
ONE IS RUDE AND RECKLESS
AND THE REST MUST FOLLOW SUITE
HONK HONK BEEP BEEP
THEY ALL LOOK OH SO PISSED
MUST BE RUDE AND RECKLESS
HUMMM GUESS THATS A MEMO THAT I MISSED
HONK HONK BEEP BEEP
JUST WANNA GO BACK TO BED
HONK HONK BEEP BEEP
LOOK OUT YOU STUPID CREEP!
THIS TRAFFICS MESSING WITH MY HEAD
BUT STOP DRIVING LIKE THAT OR WE'LL ALL BE DEAD
HONK HONK BEEP BEEP
ONE IS DOING HER MAKEUP
APPARENTLY WITH HER FEET
ANOTHER IS ON THE PHONE
WISH I COULD TURN THIS CAR AROUND
AND HURRY RIGHT BACK HOME
WELL ITS NEARLY FIVE OCLOCK
BACK IN THE CAR
TIME TO ROCK
HONK HONK BEEP BEEP
CANT WAIT TO TAKE A BATH AND GO TO SLEEP

The Dream

It came in a dream

my face all blue

she saw my death

somehow she new

stay home this night

she begged of me

but a young girl wants to be free

the knife plunged in deep

I recalled her words and began to weep

stay home this night she begged of me

but a young girl wants to be free

the rope around me

I did not struggle

for I knew my fate

should have listened to my mother

but now it's much too late

I close my eyes and wait to die

and finally fall asleep

I wake to hear the end of her prayer

"I pray the Lord your soul to keep"

I open my eyes

I am not dead

Mom has a wash cloth on my head

You have a fever

It's pretty high

try to sleep she says with a sigh

Not So Different You And I

I am a living being
With eyes that see
With ears that hear
but I have fur
and you have hair
I am a living being
but you have nails
and I have claws
and you have hands
but I have paws
I bark
You speak
I howl
You weep
I am a living being
I feel sadness, happiness
loneliness and pain
We are living beings
In some ways we're the same

FACTORY FARM

WARM
SAFE
GROWING
BORN
SHOCK
FEAR
PANIC
MOTHER?
DARK
FEAR
PANIC
PAIN
LAMB
PIG
COW
BORN
TAKEN
TO THE FACTORY
TO THE SLAUGHTER
TO THE TABLE
INTO THE GREEDY MOUTHS
GOODBYE LAMBS, PIGS AND COWS

Circus Life

i see your stupid faces
watching me with glee
i perform these stupid tricks
but oh how i long to be free
to roam the jungle once again
to be with my pride
my family, my friends
look at him with whip in hand
could grind his bones into sand
i feel the sting across my face
with just one swipe
i can erase
this little man with whip in hand
with these teeth
with just one bite
i can end this monster's life
would love to see your faces then
you'd never come to the circus again
to feel the warm sun on my mane
now only loneliness, boredom and pain
to be the king of the jungle once more
to not be stricken when i roar
but now i sleep behind these bars
with the smell of pollution and the noise of cars

The Fork In The Road

here i am at the fork in the road

the futures uncertain

i feel so alone

i could go left

i could go right

i'm on my own

no friend in sight

at the crossroads i must decide

must face the future

i cannot hide

looking back i can see

how on this road i came to be

WHISPERING WINDS

SOMETIMES THE WIND BLOWS IN A STRANGE KIND OF WAY
YOU WANT IT TO LEAVE
YET YOU WANT IT TO STAY
PERHAPS THAT'S THE GHOST THAT WE HEAR
A DISTANT MOAN
SO FAR YET SO NEAR
SOMETIMES IT'S FAINT
BUT YOU'RE SURE YOU CAN HEAR
A SAD VOICE CARRIED ALONG
AND WHEN IT IS STILL AND WHEN IT IS CALM
THAT IS THE END OF IT'S GHOSTLY SONG
SOMETIMES IT SOUNDS LIKE OCEANE'S WAVES
SO MUCH THAT I CAN'T HELP BUT WONDER
IF I COULD ONLY LISTEN, NOT SEE
WHAT WOULD I THINK THIS SOUND TO BE?
THE RUSTLING OF THE BLOWING LEAVES
OR WAVES CRASHING ON A STORMY SEA?
SOMETIMES IT'S ALL IN HOW YOU PERCEIVE
AND EVEN WHAT YOU LONG TO BELIEVE
JUST A BREEZE, A GUST, A GALE
OR A SONG, A SECRET A SOUL LONGS TO TELL

I Kissed A Frog

i lost my glass slipper

well really a shoe

but a prince didnt find it

so whats a girl to do

i kissed a frog

but it hopped away

no prince for me

no not today

fairytales are simply tales

and frogs are not for kissing

but without a little romance

something would be missing

so kiss the frog

lose the shoe

okay to be a romantic fool

and if your prince turns into a frog

just leave him sitting on a log

Going Home

Here I lay on cold concrete
No more grass beneath my feet
Want to leave but don't know how
Oh sweet family
Where are you now?
Here I am alone and scared
For this I was not prepared
A man came to take my new friend away
Where did he take her?
For a walk?
Out to play?
Here I am all alone
Miss my family
Miss my home
Oh, wait...that man has come for me
Oh that's good I have to pee
I try to never go inside
I did once and tried to hide
but my humans found me out
and began to stomp and shout
Is that why they brought me here?
Is that why I'm so alone?
Will they come for me?
Is it time to go home?

Hell In The Jungle-Vietnam

a mother laments upon the hill

the hill of dead and dying

she cannot conceive her loss

she cannot stop her crying

a pirilous journey she'll undertake

for her dear one she'll not forsake

with a mere rock she'll end their lives

no concern for their guns and knives

a bloody bundle is all they left her

a casualty of war to them

but to her it was murder

she makes her way into their camp

weak and cold from the damp

she spies a fire burning afar

now her turn to leave a scar

she brings the rock down on his head

and does not stop until he is dead

a shot rings out in the dark

the bullet strikes her down

seeing the bundle in her arms

the soldiers gather round

such a pity

such a shame

the guilt runs deep

but theyre not to blame

from the shadows emerges one lone man

the smoking gun in his hand

God save us from this hell in Vietnam

he wipes a tear from his cheek

and says the future looks so bleak

with this said they all weep and weep and weep
