Burn It, Or Take the Ride

The night, she consumes me, leaving nothing left,
I am not returning home tonight, I am being kept,
surely not against my will, it's wonderful out here,
she speaks in a tone: soft, direct, sincere.

You exhumed me, and tied me to a post,
the things we love will hurt us the most,
still you are my drug, showing me things I fail to see,
but like any drug, you will be the death of me.

Rage runs through me, I deem you my everything,
from the stroke of my pen, to the songs I sing,
from the words I write, to the reason I breathe,
you are an anchor for my sanity...

Pain subdues me, leaving me helpless inside,
I'm aware of what it takes to swallow my pride,
so here I am, against this post with arms tied,
you bought the ticket, either Burn It, Or Take The Ride.

Kerosene

Winding road, set me free,
take me where I am supposed to be.
See that flame? It calls to me,
showing me, where I need to be.
That flame I know, is Kerosene,
just down the road within the trees.
See that flag? It's mocking me,
 tonight that flag meets Kerosene.
So follow me to this place I know,
believe me, I was born ready to go.
I see you fall upon your knees,
pray to your god to hear your dreams,
what you've heard, ain't what it seems..
We will stick with sin, and Kerosene.

On the First Day

Bear not your arms for this,
put your tools away,
far away from here,
they are not needed now,
so much more to steer clear of,
the damage has been done,
so much has been taken.
What will you do when the proof comes back to bite you?
What will you say when the walls crumble away?
When 'Hell' decides to join us on firm ground,
it will be too late for you to get it.
You speak of change,
I see not *****that proves it,
war,
famine,
bodies to fall when they hear the call,
your forests burning,
a billion yearning,
fault lines churning,
none of you are learning.
What will you do when the noose is around your neck?
It will be too late as you are taking your last step.
You will seal your fate and take the rest of us with you.
Breathe your last words, but to your grave...
You will take the truth.
