Perfect

<>

i am a perfectionist
but i am completely incapable of perfection

                   like most
i don't have many happy accidents
i am burdened by flaws, by failure, by folly
                   but
i am not bound by fate
to lose, but to negotiate
and learn from missed cues
my diffused bomb
won't blow your mind
but in time
you will question why i threw it

i am a perfectionist
but completely incapable of perfection

                  like most
i don't have many happy accidents

Touch

<>

am i made of summer
could i be awarded such slumber
and feelings of such gold and grace

could i be designed by smiles
                            by laughter
could i be a gift grander with life
and i am worth the comfort of holding hands

am i made of summer
as i proclaim love to be sweeter when sitting in a tree
and writing my prayers on leaves

can my white shirts and jeans
be the lines in-between
your stories and memories of absolute joy

am i made of summer
could i be made of summer

i hope so
