To the Motherless Child

Looking into your laughing eyes
I can't help but wonder...
Did you or did you not know
That the one you cling to is only
an aunt?
That your mother still young had
fallen aside?
That this world you jump in is
dying with vice?

I cry when I see you smile
For fear of the day your pigeons
die
The day these hawks feast in your
sky
The day a snake in no longer toy
The day a tree cuts down a tree.

Bask on my love
While it is still light
The vultures can head
For the butcher's house
Your home is among bright stars
above
Forever giving light to this vile
life of mine.

December

1
Lights stab night
Cocks call day
Snakes hide.

2
Sun hates sleep
Winds roam dry
Lips crack.

3
Air wears dust
Eyes lose tears
Streams dry.

4
Trees hate leaves
Shrubs choose death
Fires rage.

5
Dark strikes day
Bugs praise night
Doves roost.

Dear Sunshine

This unprepared request of
mine
May sound bizarre as
darkness' shine
But look upon how safe I
fare
And tell me if your light is
fair.

In darkness frogs have
chance to sing
And owls become the lords
of birds
And bats pretend to live like
birds
And saints may have a
secret fling.

In it our bodies lose their
speech
And liars are believable
In it some aren't invisible
Behold the law is out of
reach.

So why not stay forever
away
So none can come for their
old debt
And try to seize my old
blanket
With which I drive the chills
away?

Black Magic

You did move Cupid's
practiced hand
By what vile means or flip of
wand
To strike my heart a
poisoned blow
And bid this painful ulcer
grow.

Like bird from tree to tree I
flit
To skip the toil within your
pit
And maybe find a potent cure
To life of fish before a lure.

If only you would hear my
plea
And drain this magic out of
me
I'd grab a trident and a
sword
And be to you a vengeful
lord.

They say you smuggled
something dark
By food or drink to slave
my heart
And force me play this
shameful part
Of dog to its own mother
bark.

Nature Is You

Behold the distance between the heart and the head is not so great
Yet I fear mine are sworn strangers when it comes to you
For you compare to morning dew on fresh grasses
You compare to healthy chicks freshly hatched by a loving hen
You compare to nature itself, flawless in its timeless beauty and pleasant in it mathematical precision
You compare to a young child's fantasy of a blissful future
You compare to my daydream on a joyful weekday
You compare to everything and yet to nothing
For you are only a dream and a wishful thought
Behold reality awaits me and nothing compares to it!

Traveller

Traveller camp not by me
for the
night
I am but a barren and
rootless
tree
Stranger repose not your
bones at my site.
For the dream you seek out
is not
with me
The troubles you flee from I
have
my own
The warmth that you crave
for I
cannot be.
Move on for with me you
are
still alone
My shade you could take
but I
bear no fruits
Nor host bee hives to be
victuals for none
Beyond are grapes and
many shaded roots.

Indictment

Don't worry about me
sweetheart
I'm just playing my scripted
part
Be not unforgiving or hurt
Let me live without your
endless blurt.

For I walk no paved way to
Bliss
I stand out seeming much to
miss
Yet no less a man I'm than
some
If what I am won't overcome
The pits of hell then so it be!
To hide behind religious zeal
A license to kill, rape and
steal
Is cowardly deceit to me
I'd best boycott your
heaven gate
And bravely face the
dreaded fate.

Lovers' Cart

Behold today your name
engraves my sky
Indeed my eyes your face
alone espy
You own my mind no matter
how I try
To stay alive to issues
lurking by.

Alone my world was empty
and a gloom
With you my life compares
to August bloom
Alone I only craved a
peaceful tomb
With you my fortunes wallow
now in boom.

A vow I make to live within
your heart
A sword or speech can
never pull apart
My hand in yours together
we depart
To paradise on lovely
lovers' cart.

Eagles and Pigs

Let the eagles pierce the sky
And the pigs tear the earth
For now our lips remain
sealed
By their thundering batons.
We strive on with the
unspoken
Sureness of unwanted
foetus
Waiting to pop out in nine
months
In nine years, or who
knows,
In nine days or less.
Sleep not dear bleeding
renegades
For the sun surely sets
And the moon finds its
hiding place.
Yes, these arrogant flowers
Will shrivel and wither when
December comes
And the raging wild fires
Will eat up their useless
stalks
Now fresh and green
In preparation for the new
planting season.

A Soldier's Letter

When a vulture bald and
ugly
Dares to laugh aloud and
smugly
Know your son is gone oh
mother!
Shave the heads of one
another
Pay my fare with goat and
pigeon
Let me roam our forest
region
Lest my soul remain in exile
Where the stars and moon
dare not smile.

These souls they force my
hands to
wrest
Do they not know a mother's
breast?
Are not some eyes dismal
with frown
Praying for these men
trampled
down?
Do they despise tomorrow's
sun?
Or find pleasure before this
gun?

When the vulture bald and
ugly
Dares to sing aloud and
smugly
Know I drown in this blood
river
Not to kill again or shiver.
