Ethan Kane Poem
I remember a time when things were simple
Music could always cheer me up from a bad mood
Friends were the only entertainment I needed on a summer afternoon
Swimming pools
Acoustic guitars
Relaxing to the sounds of Hyrule on the roof of my house
Jamming out and writing songs in a shed at the ranch
Being intimidated by a bull and jumping the fence in fear
When my best friend was always there for a good laugh
Or in the hard times, a helping hand
I wish everything could go back to those days
When nothing mattered but music and friends
When you didn’t have to worry about getting killed walking down the street
When there wasn’t a threat of someone from another country attacking you
When you didn’t have to worry about saying the wrong thing
Because everyone took things with a light heart
When money wasn’t a problem
When depression wasn’t there
Life was so much better back then
Why did it have to change?

Ethan Kane Poem
Staring through these bloodshot eyes
Your face still comes to mind
A vast plague of infinite loss
Death settles in on the conscience
Slowly the light depresses down into overwhelming darkness
As the people cry for God’s mercy
But mankind’s endless sins prevent God from hearing their screams
All people soon lose hope
And parish in the eternal flames

Ethan Kane Poem
It seems like my life is always lacking.
Too many blurry faces passing.
It's like living in a time when the world is gone,
No one can agree because everyone is wrong.
If we all could take time to appreciate our lives,
And stop believing and telling these foolish lies,
Maybe then we could live in harmony,
In a world full of love like it was meant to be.
I wish I could tell them all the way I feel,
But no one will believe because it's so unreal.
This idea that we all could be at peace,
And we all could be each other's release.
Maybe one day we could find some common ground
Lying somewhere in the Lost & Found.
But you know this is just the way it goes,
When all this hatred just overflows.
In a time when no one can just understand
What it's like to walk with each other hand in hand.
It all comes down to a change of mind,
And to leave the stigmas and hate behind.
Does it really make them feel good deep within,
To hate another person based on the color of their skin?
It's not what's on the outside that makes them who they are,
It's what's inside them; It's what's in their heart.
It doesn't matter what we look like externally,
The only thing that matters is who we chose to be.
We are strong, and have the power to agree,
To love and cherish each other's company.
And I know that we can all hold each other up and live free.
This is my ode to humanity.

Ethan Kane Poem
Can you forgive the things I’ve done?
And say I’m still your only one?
The past is still haunting me
Tearing me down with every step I take
I’m suffocating under this tremendous love
My feelings for you are just too strong
Every time I see you my heart just skips too many beats
I can’t stop thinking about you
Why is this love that bonds me to her so strong?
Why do I always smile when I think about her?
Why is it that every time I see you, all I want to do is hold you, and tell you that I love
you?
I can’t imagine my life without you
You make me want to be a better person
But I have one question;
Why?

Ethan Kane Poem
I look outside my window
The sun gleams in my face
Memories of you and I
Now rushing through my brain
I miss you and I love you
With all my heart and soul
I’m staring out my window
Thinking about all the good times we had together
If there’s just one thing that you should take from this
Just one thing you should know
I’d take your hand and hold you close
I’d be with you right by your side
Through the sun and through the snow
I’d look at you straight in the eye
I’d tell you truly that I love you
And make sure that you know
