That Tree

Like a plant developed into a tree
is what my emotions had grown to be
Scared and confused I scampered away
but your love in my heart is engraved
Left with a plant deeply rooted in
desparately in need of nourishing
Five years passed and I wonder why
that plant is still there left to die
I water it and give it light
and watch it grow with much delight
And now I believe and now i see
that this is the most precious and beautiful tree
Blossoming with flowers for every season
Bearing fruits beyond reason
With a trunk so thick it cannot be cut
With leaves so green and stems so strong
And fruits that ripe all year long
A tree that defines all of my love
For you, the only one I think of

Smarter Than I Seem

Doubts flood my mind - smarter than I seem
Reading between the lines of your intentional schemes
Calculating your plots of disreputable deceits
And probing methods of exploiting me

Amiss estimation of my competence
To comprehend and observe your malevolence
Distressed and tentative with your presence
Your bogus interests I never fail to sense.

He Is

I met someone... he's not perfect,
I have met no-one that is,
He cherishes my emotions and my thoughts,
his touch gives me chills.

He protects me daily,
ensuring that I'm good.
His intelligence captivates me
for a nigga from the hood.

His kisses are tender,
His voice is so real,
His touch is captivating,
He oozes appeal.

He is down with the hood,
He shines above the elite,
He is a thug, a gentleman,
He knocks me off my feet.

Our lives are intertwined,
Something absolutely surreal,
He is always on my mind.
Come on guys, I hope you understand how I feel.

He loves my mother, my daughter, my sisters,
He knew them all this time,
He was always there, but we never crossed path,
My awesome days begin to unwind.

We want each other so badly,
Our alone time is never grey,
This nigga has me,
Thinking of him night and day.

The beauty is we understand each other,
Which makes this love so pure,
We respect each other's space,
Therefore there are no hardships to endure.

His swagga is appealing, you gotta take a look,
For when he passes by, his presence stands out,
And his words got you hooked...
His culture is so similar to mine,
He likes being around the grill,
I love my kitchen time.

I feel like I've known him for years,
He is a family friend,
But he never crossed my path,
Until years after when.

I think I found a best friend,
A business partner I can trust,
Someone genuine to my family and I,
With charisma as an added plus.

****sigh****

I am happy with my life.
No more fusses,
No more fights.

****smiles****

Thank you dude, for being a wonderful addition to being a part of my daily life.

The Way

I hear the wind calling
The rain greets me
The lightning claps
And the thunder rolls with me
I walk through the storm
Following the wind
The wind sways me to and fro
The rain slaps me
The lightning gives me light
It shows the way
And the thunder rolls with me
I walk through the storm
Following the wind
Lost but not alone
The lightning shows the way
The thunder rolls with me
The rain falls, gives me blessings
And the wind blows me to the way

A Love That Never Ends

A love with love greater than the others
A care with care that shows more concern than a mother
The undeniable kindness that you've portrayed
The unadulterated attachment why you stood by me day by day
My rebellious manner that caused you pain
My stubborn mentality that caused you shame
My devilish deeds that you discovered
The sex, the drugs, the parties I smothered
I never got to say good-bye
Nor to tell you how much I love you before you died
I never told you that I was sorry
I never made you understand how much you mean to me
But I know you're in my heart
And a grandma like you will never depart
You were my mother, my father, my friend
I love you grandma, a love that never ends.

"mommy Mommy"

Mommy Mommy what shall I do,
I don't wanna stay away from you,
Mommy, mommy please come back,
You're my life, you know that.
Sugar, plum, my love,
My heart is with you, where you go I follow
along,
I'm not here, he's not here, you're not here with me,
Just sit back and be calm, be mommy's little baby.
How can I be that when you're not around,
You're not here to comfort me when I'm down,
What shall I do when its Mother's Day?
Whom shall I greet? What shall I say?
Pretend as if I'm there and talk to the stars above,
I am listening, I can hear, I'll answer you my love.
How will I know when you answer, How will I know you're there?
Listen to your heart little one, I'll answer you in prayer.
Go to sleep and talk to the stars, Talk and listen to your heart,
When you're down, don't harm yourself,
Mommy will be there, mommy will help.

Slaughter

My tears flood me, my mind boggles, and my fears are real.
I see blood gushing, her head severed, death unveiled.
Fear of my life, fear in my mind, I was three.
He lift his hand, machete clutched tight, it was daddy.
A quick swoosh, dead silence, mommy froze.
Her body fluttered, her blood spurted out, she groaned.
He looked at me, spotted with blood, his eyes gloat.
Dropped the machete; picked up his gun; pointed to his throat.
A loud bang, I jumped, he fell.
I now realize both my parents are dead.

Lies

I study your lies, I already know the truth
It shows in your eyes, it tells the real you
I am amazed by your mind, you lie too much
You are one of a kind, you have got the touch

I ask you daily, you never fail to deny
But your actions prove that she is your wife
We are together but I see you once a week
You are with her everyday, is it comfort you seek

Your daughter is no excuse, those messages prove it all
Those words she told me made me feel two inches tall
I no longer feel your presence; your heart is not with me
It is with her, I am not blind not to see.

I Love You

Am tired of saying sorry,
Am sure you're tired of hearing it too,
I know there's no explanation for the way I doubted you.
Finally I see your efforts, I've realized too late,
For now you've turn your back,
walking through my heart's gate.
I've asked to walk an inch, you gave me a yard,
But I walked miles and now it's tearing me apart.
I stand in a corner watching the damage I've done,
Weeping and mourning over what has become,
Wishing and dreaming that all this isn't real,
Hoping and praying that comfort and happiness will reveal.
Left with nothing else to think to say or to do,
But to accept your 'farewell and good luck to you'
I try, I've tried and I will try,
Give me a chance and I'll prove why,
We should be together unconditionally,
And why when I'm done you won't be mad at me.
I promise that what we have is true,
Baby you mean the world to me, I love you.

Misery

Have you ever thought you were bad luck
Everything that could go wrong just goes wrong
You have nothing to hope or dream for
Just misery after misery all day long
You pray hoping your prayers will be answered
You hope that there is a God somewhere
To rid you of all this anger
And never ending painful tears
You wish you had a family, a friend that understood
But all they think is negative and pessimistic
Somewhat makes you feel as if you're no good
You look forward to a sunny day with the sun shining bright
But all you see is pouring rain that lasts all day and night
You pick a flower that's rosy pink and the scent of fine perfume
But as you touch it, it starts to stink
The entire plant cease to bloom
You are left with no hope, no dreams, no future
No luck, no love, no desire
To live on and wish that maybe
Your life could take a turn out of its misery.
