Poor After Care Service

My coffee machine broke and I have it insured,
It was supposed to be uplifted four times
Where on earth is Argos?

Limerick: shrinks, part 2

Once attending professional course
Shrinks attempted to fix mind flaws
They gorged on cocaine
But primitive brain
Has failed to achieve sacred pause

Austin Commute

It wasn't so bad this morning
But I arrived an hour early
If I'd left later—
     even a few minutes?
Only the clock will tell
After all
     It's only my first time

There once was a trucking company
Held together with duck tape funny
Repairs a lick and promise
Polished with cloth and Comet
Mechanics work done very subtly

About selling leather in a market -

Valise, or case-selling ...
Each to his own
Noise in distribution,
Dashing to a mike
Or cupping his hands -
Rush of people to his leather stall.

Careful What You Wish For

There once was an ambitious man named Eddie,
who wanted a job in the traveling industry.
The genie granted his wish,
but Ed never expected this;
an employer's note saying, "Welcome to the DMV!"

I Didn't Get The Job

Dear Sir or Madam,

that we
are not able
to offer you the
position, but we do
thank you for allowing us
to complete your background
check; it was absolutely hilarious.

The New Job

The New Job
Dr. James E. Martin
©December, 2012

He started his job at six,
He was ready to enter the mix.
He lost it as seven,
Not his view of heaven,
So now it is back to the sticks.

large space.
i should go home.

i only live once.
across the room.
his voice.
breathing down my back.
it stinks.

my boss
you suck!

I'm fired!

Waterfalls and beach balls
breakfast in bed with bear claws
Nothin I like better than a vacation

Paper work and people wastin my time
Ain't nothin I hate more than waitin in line
For that next vacation

My hands do indeed,
They show no secrets,
Scars and cuts,
Tough skin.

They show no secrets,
These hands of mine,
Tough skin,
Along the palm.

These hands of mine,
Scars and cuts,
Along the palm,
My hands do indeed.

Short Jobs poem by Lei Strauss| Details

Rolling my eyes
Everywhere I go
Searching for my luck
Hope that there’s a place
For someone like me.

Those newspapers
Scattered on floor
Makes me crazy
Desperate one...

I won’t stop
Won’t give up
I’ll try hard...

I know
I’ll find...

Solving Insomnia

Dogs barking loudly at night,
Even when you tell them to stop?
After midnight or early hours,
Despite you having called the cops?

Don't you worry, I've been there too,
Open-eyed and out of my mind.
Good thing I acted; now I can sleep;
So maybe the next pooch will be more kind.

Short Jobs poem by Dan Keir| Details

There’s comfort in conformity,
The dry herd steps forward to give
Filed sighs, an enormity
Of purpose, peppered like a sieve
With empty space, paraded fast
Through love and loss, to lie and live,
Splaying bones to yawn death at last,
Our time to pass, we won’t forgive.

Everything that happens
Is not my fault
I cant control all things
Sometimes things
Just have to change
Sometimes its
Noones fault
And there's no
Assigning blame
Sometimes people
Grow appart
But life will
Carry on
Just because im afraid
Is no reason to close my heart

Work, Writing and Why

Walking in and out of my day
I wonder why does it has to be this way.

What have I done all these years?
Who have I become?

Waiting for something or someone?
Working to provide a meal or two?

There is a time to write and to make
up for all that time, then all the work
comes down to a line, and then a word.

Short Jobs poem by Wm Paul| Details

He quit the sea as a Pirate,
To become a Hard Rock Miner,
No more could he take
The Wind and the Water,
Thought he the Dirt and Dust
Could make his Life the better.

Hard Work it was
And the blisters grew,
The sweat and heat was
Most oppressive.

And the Gold trickled in,
And the Gold was worth it.

Chicken Suit

He stands on the curb
in a chicken suit.
Jumping,dancing and waving at you.

Yep, it's a job
Money to make
Is it demeaning?
You may laugh and say-

I would never do that
But do what you must
Just to live life
It is a must!
Wave as you drive by
It could be you-
dancing and waving
In that "Chicken Suit"
