Rain Soaked Land

Rain cascading down flooding land
water levels creeping up high
banks blocked with bags of sand

Creeping water flooding moorland
wiping out the fields of rye
rain cascading down flooding land

Homes by pumps are being manned
while folks stand helpless and sigh
banks blocked with bags of sand

While rivers by bridges spanned
lay broken by torrents from sky
rain cascading down flooding land

Man's best laid plans no longer stand
swept away, will it never dry?
banks blocked with bags of sand

And black clouds choked with rain vie
with birds sheltering in the pig sty
rain cascading down flooding land
banks blocked with bags of sand.

Soft Ripples

The soft ripples flow across the small lake The stagnant water reflects the mountains Where the water lies I see for my sake Sure mindful of beauty with give and take The water carries much delight within The soft ripples flow across the small lake There’s not enough flow to leave a shore wake It’s the best graced water that’s ever been Where the water lies I see for my sake Birds fly high looking for a bit of cake Seeing the lake below where it began The soft ripples flow across the small lake There’s just truth in the water nothing fake Water shows its path along the fixed land Where the water lies I see for my sake The land holds the water where it does rake The water reflects just like a large tin The soft ripples flow across the small lake Where the water lies I see for my sake

Droplets

Water falling, trickling downward
wet mossy stones shine and glimmer
droplets dancing tumbling onward

Soft tinkles as they head coastward
the sounds echo like a crooner
water falling, trickling downward

A mast standing out, a halyard
of the ships bobbing in fervour
droplets dancing tumbling onward

Streams joining rivers flood backward
the noise loud as it gets faster
water falling, trickling downward

Thunderous waves heading southward
ships tossing, sails all a flutter
droplets dancing tumbling onward

Tidal water becomes wayward
waves flowing over the breaker
water falling, trickling downward
droplets dancing tumbling onward

The Play of Light

I love to watch the play of light
As I look out across the bay
On moonlit waters clear and bright.

It’s magic on a summer’s night,
This feeling, oh, I cannot say :
I love to watch the play of light.

Upon the shore, waves shining white,
Rolling, splashing as they play
On moonlit waters clear and bright.

Now spangled stars come into sight
To mark the ending of the day.
I love to watch their play of light.

So soon the moon is at its height
Where from it shoots a single ray
On moonlit waters clear and bright.

She sails away just like a kite –
Oh please don’t go, can you not stay ?
I love to watch the play of light
On moonlit waters clear and bright.

Clarity

Clarity
She dwells near the bubbling stream.
And she will wash her hair to smell the nature.
As the flowers flow in the sauna, where there is a silence; not to imagine a good or a bad dream.
Oh clarity, for long we have yearned.
From the chaos and trouble I abandon, for five days and many months I overlearn.
The sweet smell of lavender, for my weariness it will clean, in this stream.
I finish this visit today, because I did not plan well and hope better for the following days.
Today there is a little rain, just like last night on my electronic it had played.
And with the pumice I erode this skins that had to endure the fabrics of clingy dreams.
Clarity, as I swim and laugh at that frog comes over me.
And now many people come over to join this team.
As we laugh and play water games in the stream.
Saunas, cool stream, frozen one’s and more it is a place we must visit.
The clarity, unescorted by noise pollution; how I would miss it.
But again to the industrial site I play the synthetic sound on my phone for a nice dream.
And try to cease the pondering as I listen to six-hundred minutes of a running stream.
