Initials on a Tree

I sign your initials on an old tree And surround it with a heart of desire I want the world out there to come and see The world needs to see our heart completely That’s been put on this tree with love and fire I sign your initials on an old tree People want to view this tree tenderly It’s not like the tree sits on any mire I want the world out there to come and see Heart is formed with love eventually The tree should never be placed on a pyre I sign your initials on an old tree Formed are letters of our names perfectly All the letters put on smoothly not dire I want the world out there to come and see The world can see our kind heart lovingly Our love together shall never expire I sign your initials on an old tree I want the world out there to come and see

Wept Beneath A Tree

So sure of love and all that it can be
This kiss to celebrate the moment met
That’s why two lovers wept beneath a tree

There all the world if only eyes could see
Was placed there at their feet without regret
So sure of love and all that it can be

Their promises exchanged so preciously
That even passing clouds became beset
That’s why two lovers wept beneath a tree

Secure in trust they let their hearts fly free
Unknowing that the clouds weren’t finished yet
So sure of love and all that it can be

Love’s passions grew and joined the cloudy spree
Into this torrent destiny was set
That’s why two lovers wept beneath a tree

And with each storm they loved more carefully
Their memories will not let them forget
So sure of love and all that it can be
That’s why two lovers wept beneath a tree

Image on a Wall

The image was a tree, simply at night It was an ancient picture that formed tall The tree was grand, displaying a great sight Exposing the scene of a tree made tight The painting which is produced on the mall The image was a tree, simply at night The picture of this tree was of delight Not a one limb would make you want to bawl The tree was grand, displaying a great sight White flowers on this tree carries with might It’s an awesome sight that sits on the wall The image was a tree, simply at night I surely loved to view this tree tonight The view of the beautiful tree has gall The tree was grand, displaying a great sight The picture has a fixture that’s airtight I see this painting when I come and call The image was a tree, simply at night The tree was grand, displaying a great sight Russell Sivey

Deadly Raven

Sitting atop the old decaying tree Is a deadly raven quite pathetic Where his lusting eyes do more than just see An unsuspecting group thinks they are free Raven thinks of a move that’s genetic Sitting atop the old decaying tree No-one knows what it’s like to truly be One of this group, death is just magnetic Where his lusting eyes do more than just see Down he swoops taking one soul completely Returns to tree, looking quite poetic Sitting atop the old decaying tree The raven smiles as he caws wickedly Soul collecting might be more aesthetic Where his lusting eyes do more than just see The raven flies high looking lustfully All that he’s collected that’s prophetic Sitting atop the old decaying tree Where his lusting eyes do more than just see

Golden Yellow Trees

The blue sky peeks at me quite far away Through the warm golden yellow autumn trees They look like gold placed against the blue day This lively scene looks beautiful today The path goes straight forward where you see The blue sky peeks at me quite far away The sight is amazing, I truly say I walk the path of trees so I can be They look like gold placed against the blue day The row of trees glow with yellow this day The whole land here grows as if it’s so free The blue sky peeks at me quite far away I go down whistling and thought this way The sky with the trees sure does impress me They look like gold placed against the blue day I know the sight will stay with me I say Golden color of the trees delight me The blue sky peeks at me quite far away They look like gold placed against the blue day

It Happened Like This

They conquered land before habitations --
Viridiplantae or, simply, plantae.
It was swell: Oxygen fungitations.

Until arthropods assumed their stations
(Or, perhaps, eight-legged crustaceans).
They conquered land before habitations --

Those rude, plated pests swarmed the green nations:
An ever eating, egg laying mess -- still,
It was swell: Oxygen fungitations.

Old root fauna demanded cessations;
And, therein, they devised a cunning skill:
They conquered land before habitations --

Placate those fleshy abominations
With sexy flowers and sweet nectar treats.
It was swell: Oxygen fungitations.

The bugs went wild with mushroom gyrations --
Until the Vegans collected their eats....
They conquered land before habitations --
It was swell: Oxygen fungitations.

Something Stirring

As night descends, casting darkness
all is silent and so very still
waiting, listening, and breathless

Into the dark of nights coldness
do you feel it, that stone cold chill
as night descends, casting darkness

The cold seeping chilling denseness
it seems to invade , to instill
waiting, listening, and breathless

Something stirring in the blackness
the noises now loud and so shrill
as night descends, casting darkness

Death shows his face full of graveness
in the dark stands waiting to kill
waiting, listening and breathless

Now life seeps away, its painless
just a gasp then it flees noiseless
as night descends, casting darkness
waiting, listening and breathless

Alone

The Christmas tree stands alone
But still decorated with lights glowing
The family has come and gone

A misty tear drop with a quiet groan
Remembering the days when they were home
The Christmas tree stands alone

Wanting little ones to come and crawl in zone
Of the blanket, packages, and decorations
The family has come and gone

Leftover food, torn wrap, lights that shone
Guiding them to this warm old home
The Christmas tree stands alone

Dirty dishes, soiled placemats, candles blown
Still longing for them at home
The family has come and gone

Time passes, situations change
The love in my heart remains the same
The Christmas tree stands alone
The family has come and gone

Villanelle: The Dilemma of the Non-Violent - 19

Villanelle: The Dilemma of the Non-Violent – 19

Eat no life you cut open first to let blood flow
Bird on wing fish that swim crawls slithers all on fours
Dare you stare down the dilemma watch trees sole grow

Must you resist to save your life from luckless blow
Watch your wife and children beg for life on all fours
Eat no life you cut open first to let blood flow

The green dress our earth dons pump all lungs to glow
The milk that babies suck flows from grass-fed udders
Dare you stare down the dilemma watch trees sole grow

Even trees do ooze with sap pretend not to know
Oblivious the falling tree on insect throes
Eat no life you cut open first to let blood flow

All that stirs all that stands still must pain undergo
Astral bodies all keep moving on first set course
Dare you stare down the dilemma watch trees sole grow

No Jain who tramples on acariens* must rue
The day he was born on this earth rife with woes
Eat no life you cut open first to let blood flow
Dare you stare down the dilemma watch trees sole grow
