The Eternal Tree

I am Alive Forever and always Essence Rebirth Renewal
I have earth to ground me I have wind to move me I have fire to cleanse
my spirit I have rain to quench my thirst for growth
I have sun to enlighten me feed me I am my own mother
and an extension of the whole I am Earth wind
rain sun fire I am as old as life and I am as young
as time I am shelter to those who seek me I am a bird a flower and the breath
of the earth itself I am exactly where I want to be I am life
I am first and last the beginning and the end I am one from many
I am what I am I live I grow and I die. I am Reborn unto myself
                                                          I am the great circle
                                                           My limbs know no
                                                           Boundaries; while
                                                           My leaves whisper
                                                           The one truth of the
                                                           Whole through the
                                                           Seasons changing
                                                            Colors that I wear
                                                            Upon my heart's
                                                            Sleeve, I'm home
                                                           To Earth Mother’s

                                                           Sing for the whole
                                                         World to hear - trees

Out of the Sun

              Stayed
             in the sun
              to long
               today
The skin became the bark of a tree
the soul turning to brittle scars
 for uncaring worlds to see.
             my face
            is a pile of
           old owl bones
sewn into banks of midnight creeks...
even the plump, over ripened ones
no longer look at me...
but if their car was desert flat,
their oil grim reaper black
they'd paint a wormy, water colored smile...
slide it through my barbed wired heart
so long as I could spin the jack...
so I spin it until their potholes turn to satin-
               Stayed
              in the sun
               to long
                today
the mind has smoothed over
like pebbles in Saturn rings..
a forgotten spice in the conversation of life
an hour later the word snuggles up to me
               laughingly.

Tomorrow or forever( which ever comes first),
I'll stay wrapped inside
till my skin turns back to ivory
to an easter egg yesterday
to a time of bouncing ball and spinning jack,
when the mind was a great silky nest...
the face a flowered meadow place
where watercolors swirled all day,
the heartworms kept at bay.

I'll stay hidden within the briar,
till the jewels of memories sooth
every scar - every stripe,
the molten knots of cruelty,
till the sweetened fruit reclaims the tree.
until then only my curtains breathe...
       ...stayed in the sun
              to long
                today

Indian Summer

Memories of autumn linger still
The pale sun loiters on the hill;
A prodigal year now grown old
Is gathering all her days of gold.
Flocks of birds now eager to go
We share the dream with footsteps slow;
We meet beneath the apple tree
Join hands in silent company.
We will not part love, oh not yet
Too soon the weary sun will set.

The crickets cease to sing their song
The gold and russet wilt away;
The crimson trees stayed too long
And all the sky is wet and grey.
We know at night the frost will fall
And scar the asters on the hill;
The golden rod and sumac all
Will feel the hand of winter's chill.

But love, it is not the time to part
I need to hold you near my heart;
Yesterday was such a golden smile
Today we might love awhile;
Till autumn dies and love forget
And we must leave, but dear not yet.

Leaves of Trees

O dried up leaf lying there on the ground Fallen from the top of a sturdy tree Where you viewed everything that was around While you bathed in the sunshine's glory You manufactured food from the sunlight And together with the help of the roots Faithfully nourished your parent just right Creating a sturdy tree bearing fruits In spring and summer you wore brilliant green And supplied shade to others from the sun In autumn you became more colourful and before winter dropped off one by one Even now as you lay there on the dirt Nature must move on in its cyclic line You shall soon become a part of the earth And become food for others of your kind

Summer Dreams

Golden goddess up above,
shine down on me rays of love.
Summer dreams, they come to me,
bright white sands on the beach.
Rays of sun that warm my skin,
waves of blue come crashing in.
Sailboats sailing in,
summer breezes, summer wind.
Sandcastles along the shore,
summer rains, they always pour.
Summer dreams they come to me,
children playing on the beach.
Rays of sun that warm the sand,
couples walking, holding hands.
Baby blue summer sky,
summer dreams of you and I.

The Seasons

The cold weather is breaking its grip on the land,
Tiny bulbs are shooting up and showing their color in the sand.
They look for the heat from the sun to open their leaves,
Just like we do when we roll up our sleeves.

Snow still lingers here and there,
Frost wont give up until the land is bare.
Once spring sets in and the sun gets warm,
You will see young bees gather in their usual swarm.

New buds will appear on the branches of trees,
Soon they will open and show their leaves.
A very bright color ,when the leaves finally open ,
To make the trees look alive as all are hopping.

Light winds are blowing,to help them spread,
As the last dead leave blows off and rest on your head.
Now is the time to pick up broken branches,
That had fallen in winter, and now lost their chances.

Summer is not that far away,
A lot of people wish it could stay.
But its the changing seasons that make this world great,
They even help to put food on our plates.

A long walk in the forest in early spring,
Shows us just what each season brings.
The Lord and his goodness watches over our land,
He shows you His love , when He opens His hands.

This Time of Year

The air is fresh, mornings crisp and clear
God I do love this time of year
Vibrant colors abound on the trees
Gracefully falling with the breeze
The workday runs from sun to sun
Until the "Bringing in of the crops" is done
I am a lucky man to live this life
Respect of my community and loving wife
Sometimes in life the land yields plenty
The blessings throughout the day are many
As I watch the sunrise to the east
It gives my soul a spiritual feast
For all my friends everywhere
To my Lord a silent prayer
To the north her majesty appears
For all to see beautiful and clear
Forever snowcapped and standing tall
Lady Shasta watches over all
To the south another blessing to see
The Sutter Buttes clouded in mystery
It was the Lord that gave them their birth
The shortest mountain range on earth
The coastal mountains to the west
Offers the sun a place to rest
Followed shortly for all to see
The "Harvest Moon" clear as can be
Then comes a moment that is hard
As I head my "Cat" off to the yard
My final ride of this year
My face accepts a single tear
My heart becomes full of sorrow
I inject myself with poison tomorrow
Thats the price that a junkie must pay
Years after he has changed his way
The reason is very clear to see
I put myself "At risk" to hepatitis C
I can't stop the fear from flooding in
What will it be like to hold a rig again
Through all the loss and all the gain
I reckon that moment will bring me pain
But through the pain I'm able to see
God has his angels covering me

Healing Season

Autumn came this summer
on a cool winter's day
Then spring walked in behind her
Then spring soon danced away:

A flower grew beside her
from a freshly fallen pile of snow
And the petals fall onto the ground
shortly after the winds blows:

As quickly as the seasons change
so the same, time does pass
and the memory of frozen ground
is soon your bed of grass:

The time which a flower bares it's bloom
or clouds share their summer rain
Quickly passes with the shifting winds
As it guides away your pain:

My lover spoke just as a friend
As a stranger, then took my hand
As one beginning drew to another end
the setting sun made me understand:

The Earth is not that far around
The sun rises in the day
And as quickly as the lightning strikes
The storm can roll away.

A Kiss of Sunshine

The world that once was slumbering
Beneath the quilt of Winter's snow
Is now set free to gladly see
The rays of golden sunlight

He peeks at first so shyly through
The drifting clouds of leaden grey
And then, behold his beams of gold!
A kiss of gentle sunshine

The trees are budding, flowers bloom
And shades of gentle green abound
The birds of spring so sweetly sing
While kissed by rays of sunlight

How father-like the sun looks down
In glorious warmth and light
To see the things his fire brings --
The miracle of sunshine

From east to west he travells on
In grandly royal golden robes
A pilgrim man, that once began
Benignly sending raylets

As here I watch th'unfolding spring
And bask in beams of heaven's king
I think of monarchs, once divine
Whose wond'rous kingdoms once did shine

This sun hath missed not one poor soul
But fondly with a tender touch
Hath kissed the maids that dwelt in glades
Of distant lands now vanished

Now all, I think, once gently kissed
Have sung the praise of heaven's rays
And all, it seems, that Sun hath wist
Have tracked his run throughout their days

His rhythmic climb and equal fall
While heeding Nature's firmest call
His constant change, yet still the same
When once returned from whence he came

A mystery, a miracle
At times a friend, at times severe
But each new day at Dawn's approach
Reveals the kiss of sunshine

There Will Be A New One

                            Having wonderful summer memory
                                it warms our hearts long
Summer memories that we can bring back
on the cold windy autumn evenings
Summer memories we can dream of when
                              snow falls during the winter
It will warm our hearts in front of the fireplace
                                  on a cold winter night
Summer memories is a new journey
                                 when one thinks back
Yes, we can almost feel the sun warm and the
                                 smell of beautiful flowers
                          Close your eyes......running barefoot in
                                  a meadow of timothy
Watch the sunset..... sun bathing in the sea
                                         Ah yes.....
Yes, it was quite a summer
After the fall, winter and spring comes summer
again and we can create new memories
that we will take good care of

Change Of Seasons

The earth slips into a deep sleep
all beneath its surface now dormant
sleepy animals curled up in their dens
soon to fall into the sleep of hibernation
all now slowed down awaiting the snows
trees now denude of their canopy of leaves

Jack Frost comes creeping with icy fingers
covering everything in stark bright white
hoar frost, branches sparkling with icicles
softly, come the first snows just a sprinkle
a promise of more, laden sullen skies above
in the morning, a world of brilliant white

Fresh and crisp unmarked by human tracks
just the odd three toed marks of birds
deer trails pass through so distinct
the flash of colour from Red Robin's beast
drifts of snow, some very deep lie in wait
for unwary travelers tempting with beauty

Slowly, oh so slowly the thaw arrives
everywhere a-run with water trickling
now appears the odd patch of faded green
Winter releases her hold with reluctance
fighting to the end, then slips away
leaving Spring to awaken the land with warmth

Now the birds are busy, gathering the twigs
also moss and feathers with some sheep's wool
busily building nests all shapes and sizes
the males preening and showing off to hens
fighting for the rights of lady and territory
the winner, the one who's chicks will be born

Leaves unfurling on the trees reaching out
sun bathed they quickly grow and bush up
to give shelter to birds and tender plants
bulbs now pushing up snowdrops appearing
followed by gay crocus and waving daffodil
finally come the roses, tulips and lupines

All now a splash with colour gleaming in the sun
Summer has arrived with her hot sultry heat
languidly the breezes flow over the landscape
an earth that is now ablaze with vibrant greens
emerald vieing with turquoise, lime and pea green
scarlet beside pink and red, a vision of beauty
pure white of daisies and yellow petals of roses

Too soon, far too soon slowly the nights lengthen
a chill is felt in the air as daylight fades away
leaves start to turn to various shades of brown
then giving up their grip are carried by the wind
plump apples fill the orchards they taste so sweet
corn and other crops are now ready for the harvest

Bare trees now greet us as the days shorten quickly
Autumn drifts gently in, time to light the log fires
to tuck one's self up with a book and mug of cocoa
ponder on the year gone by, the highs and the lows
the cycle of seasons complete for yet another year
life reaffirmed and ready to face whatever is ahead

Autumn Colors

The glistening yellow sun shines down upon the golden brown fields harvested today.
Our gardens are cleared of the red, green, yellow vegetables and our canning is underway.
As we look across the orchard the pickers are on the last of the apples to be picked and sold.
The rustic color of the leaves are beginning to furl and we remember that fall has been born again.
As the sun sets it looks as if a fire was set to the orange, yellow, brown, red and green leaves.
A light breeze sets in and we hear a rustle as the leaves drop lazily upon the once green grass, as we drift off to sleep.

Gentle Ripples Passing - Lake Kariba

Water lapping at edge of the boat beneath the silence of the sky
Swaying branches of mopane trees and fish eagles cry
Wind of changing seasons and melting palates of hue
in the blood red sunset glow and murky silvery water blue

Elephants in numbers dot the shores
hippo’s and crocodiles are at the core
of many memories and visions of old
Lake Kariba, in land sea
full of tiger fish and bream

The endless blue that roles into the distance
where the sun rises and falls in panoramic vista
The skeletons of petrified monuments scattered in the sea
forests of pre historic trees swaying in the breeze

It wasn’t always peaceful, tranquil, and still
nature has no chance to relax and withdraw
Scheming and dreaming in the depths of men’s mind

Up Up Up goes the building and climbs
Man made dam, Damn big problem
How could this feet of engineering the power of ages old be so easy
to tame such a wild beast as the zambezi

POURING OUT THE CONCERT
RAMMING THE RODS OF STEEL
DRIVING THE WATER BACK INTO THE HILLS

HOWEVER, THE RIVER REFUSED TO YEILD
THE WALL BEGAN TO TIP, BUCKLE, AND KEEL
NOT ONCE, TWICE, WATER MARCHED THROUGH
LIKE A FACELESS WARRIORS, DESTROYING THE BARRIER
THE FORCE OF THE RIVER WOULD NOT BE SUBDUED

LIKE ALL NATURAL EVENTS, THE WAVES BEGAN TO SUBSIDE
THE SOLDIERS OF BLUE WITHDREW
UP WENT THE WALL, COMPLETED, IT WAS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME

Animals and people lost in the rising tide
from river, to dam, to lake to inland sea
Great and panoramic became the horizon wide

Like a whisper on the edge of wind
was a grand concert of ages gone by
Played out by wildlife, land, water, and sky

A harmonic existence of sublime serenity
Life here brings closure to one’s perspective
the sent of dust and adventure is quiet infective

The place of the skeleton trees, mountain passes, and copper sun still
where the stars in the universe, scatterings like lost thoughts, visions, and chants chill
across the forging path, that strides through this african wilderness blue
Lake Kariba, the artery of the north, run straight, run true.

quaternity

so far the days of singing rays
have come to meet their sullen end
twixt nights of joy with hidden ploy
a sweetly tone, they do offend

O gasp! the serpent true must strike
O gasp! the lustful raging psych
whose cares are lost forever long
roaring out, O hear my song!

now mute...peace...whist...still
ideas soon drain, decisions fill
a mind at pace with thoughts that spill
float soundlessly thy solstice chill

the misty seep, foreboding reap
emotions run amok like thieves
for darkly cast, a favored past
along is lain misguided leaves

SCENT OF SUMMER MEMORIES

We've had a glorious season of summer
Love's warmth shinned on you and me
And everyday was a beauty bright
As far as the eyes could see

Flowers showed off their fragrant bloom
The sun's rays were like a symphony
Summer breeze set a vacation mood
And blew work's ambition to apathy

But now the leaves have begun to fall
And cooler nights are all in vogue
The consistency of summer's heat
Has all but fully gone rogue

So, one by one the flower blooms fade
Until only a lone rose petal remains
I breath in the scent of summer memories
Lingering in the moment of season's change

Sonnet On The Sun

          Sonnet On The Sun

One orb and only one shines on in life
You are much warmer than the morning sun
Remember the volcanoes at Tenerife
Canary Islands paradise adrift in fun

Hanging there upon a limb of golden time
We conjure elements of joy forever
What favors in the mind recall unwinds
When in our orbits moon pulls down its lever

But there within the walls of love light sealed
The glow of life can’t hide inside forever
There in the wicket world concealed, revealed
That Winter breaks for kinder weather

My love with sun and moon gathered family
Their fortunes shine on together amicably

Crape Myrtle Tree

Crape Myrtle tree, a beautiful sight
Blooming in summer as days turn warm
Purple petals fall, a visual delight
Crape Myrtle tree, a beautiful sight
Delicate blooms, soaking up light
Flowering in splendor with unique charm
Crape Myrtle tree, a beautiful sight
Blooming in summer as days turn warm

Flourishing tree, reaching to sky
Summer sun sizzles, beauty remains
Lush branches touch birds flying by
Flourishing tree, reaching to sky
Sunshine streams through clouds on high
Children seek shade in wind song refrain
Flourishing tree, reaching to sky
Summer sun sizzles, beauty remains

September Weather

Ah, the september weather is here,
the trees turn firery red and orange,
and the leaves gently fall to the surface.

Fall is here,
and the grass turns from green to yellow,
the souls of many change their ways.

From going on beaches in sun
to walking on wet streets,
with jackets on.

September weather is here,
too most it is depressing to see,
such change in the world.

But I love it.
The girlfriends and boyfriends go away,
and that makes me happy.
Then I go apple picking.

I pick red apples,
from low, hanging apple trees.
and I eat one, while walking down the trail.

Fall is here,
the time of death,
the last of sunshine.

I don't argue,
I love fall,
it is so cosy and it gives me hope.

Hope that a day will come again,
when the sun pops its head out
and the warmth returns.

September weather is the best,
when summer is gone, but not quite,
and the cool breeze sweaps through your open windowpane.

I love fall,
it gives me hope,
that with death comes life.

Spring is coming

Spring is coming

Six more weeks, that’s all there is
The Spring is on her way
Even now some shrubs make buds
It’s a lovely winters day
And all the birds seem more alive
Like something’s in the air
Soft green branches through the window
Say Spring is everywhere.

Tomorrow will be cold again
Perhaps they’ll be no sun
That’s the way it mostly goes
When the winter knows it’s done
It gives a little then grabs hold
Then slowly fades on out
Yet soon the Spring will hold on tight
I feel it all about.

There’s something special about the Spring
That gets into my soul
A kind of live ness in the air
That makes me feel so whole
I cannot wait for spring to come
There’s a tingle in my spine
Just to walk in the Springs warm sun
Makes my essence feel divine.

Song Of A New Season

Gazing out my window screen
I picture fields of gold.
Beholding sights so long unseen
and stories gone untold.
The wonders of Spring unfold.

Sunshine dripping from the sky
and falling on my shoulder.
Flowers giving another try
and squirrels growing bolder-
the earth's another year older.

Easter bonnets soon we'll wear
and dresses made of lace.
Ribbons and flowers in our hair
put smiles upon our face.
Of snow there's not a trace.

Sunshine fills the freshened air
while everyone's delighted.
Buds are blooming everywhere
and butterflies are sighted.

Springs Arrival

The calming sounds of birds chirping fills the air, The smell of flowers just beginning to bloom, The sight of the green coming back to the grasses life, The feeling of being engulfed by a blanket of sun, Spring has arrived. The sound of lackluster lawn mowers starting back up, The smell of fresh food being grilled on the patio, The sight of sun rays beaming through the sky, The feeling of riding around with your windows down, Spring has arrived. The sound of wood crackling in a toasty bonfire, The pleasant smell of freshly cut grass, The sight of waves crashing along the shoreline, The feeling of having a slight breeze on a nice day, Spring has arrived. The sound of children back playing outside, The smell of fresh rain caked to the air after a storm, The sight of birds darting through the crisp air, The feeling of cold lake water touching your feet, That's when you can tell, Spring has arrived.

The Defiant Tree

Oh, natures tree, how are you blooming, When Winter is arriving so coldly? With colors so vibrant, how do you reflect the dimming light, so boldly? Were you confused by the sun that rises too early, or conflicted by the manipulation Of season? Or defiant, to natures authority, and just decided to create Your own reason? Buds blooming, with a brilliant color. . Branches Reaching to skies with absent sun rays; Surrounded by browning and wilting Life; Yet your brilliance, Your beauty, and Loveliness stays? Oh, Valiant tree, why bloom now? When all that's Left here is the rain? Darkly tinted shades Of grey, Dying life Laid at your roots. . And yet, you're blooming All the same. Your golden hints of Sunshine Though clouds fill The sky . . Your branches' room For lovely birds, And yet, they all have Passed you by? And still you bloom, Defiantly. Growing with nothing But self desire, Detesting before, As natures core, But my soul Will forever admire

In Bloom

Written July 29, 2013

The wind blows the rainbows down
Turns your frown upside down
Then spins it back around

The sun hides the moon
Underneath its coat in bloom
The flowers came late this June

The rain in a teardrop
Falls like dew from a leaf
When she looks at me

See that look upon her face
Used to take her to the stars
Now she's headed back from Mars

Now that Venus loves her more
Wouldn't throw her to the floor
Like before

Winter Solstice

Have you ever wondered where it all began
The rituals marked among the Celtic clans?
Look into the past and they are found
This day is when the sun would turn around

For when darkest days of winter fell upon
The Pagans found a way to carry on
And through the years traditions tumbled down
For this is when the world now turns around

There are fables told and many customs formed
Of the apples pressed and wassail spices warmed
With toasts regaled when snow skimmed off the ground
This day was when light would turn around

There are moments keen with memory as bright as fire
And woven wreaths would halt all spirits dire
While Pagan songs across the land resounded
For this was when the sun would turn around

A Yule log fire would burn for twelve dark winter days
And ashes kept to bless the next year on its way
Reverse 'o time, as ebbing days were found
This is where the sun would turn around

They would meditate and dance among the trees
And hide their faces, chant with chivalry
The radiant light would stretch the day with crowns
This is where the sun would turn around

This is where the past now comes undone
Reverse earth's darkness with the golden sun
This is where old legends come unwound
This is when the light would turn around

Why The Sun Works to Rule

At 10 A.M on Friday 13th July The Sun emerged from a cloud. After five minutes shining bright thought, 'Sod this, I'm going back to bed. right now' The Weather King called up Rain But only got an answer phone. Thor the God of thunder, was sick in bed. An accident with a hammer it was thought. Try as he might, the Weather King Could not find someone to replace The stubborn immovable Sun. Who was now working to rule. A better deal was his demand. It was agreed for shorter hours And if Sun was late rising Overcast would cover the time. Longer holidays was also agreed. Fourty-eight to fifty weeks per year. So if you want to see Summer Sun. Don't blink when looking in England, Because he might not be there.

The last tree

A pretty oak sits outside my window pane in the snow and in the rain
Covered with life, outside the balcony fifty steps away
Decorating the tree with flashes of red, black, grey, yellow and white,
are his friends the cardinals , squirrels , chickadees and the tufted titmice
They sing , chirp, and chatter in harmony of song
As the seasons pass, we live thru heat, drought , cold and rain all year long
I keep my feeder close at hand and watch as they load up in waves of two and three
to make their run at the seeds and grain
The leaves are green now and vibrant with life, in the fall the acorns grow and my tree stands tall
At winter they covet the warmth and provide a shelter for the thick furred grey squirrels
A lovely little hole in the crook of the branch big enough for two to snuggle and borough
They race down these pathways in the sky, playful as skilled acrobats
October mornings the leaves are falling , making noisy whispering sounds
the first rays of sun turn frost into a million twinkling stars on the ground
The two winged take refuge in their nest , built carefully for warmth and rest
To nurse and raise their young , making them fit for another generation of the best
The seasons flow as a quiet pond and like our beautiful life
everything is real with very little strife
Among the colorful citizens of this merry place I give life in equal exchange
for joy and a chance To sit and watch my friends as I grow old and enjoy life in the sun
But life changes, very unfair , and I am denied my playground in the sky
one day some men came and cut all the beauty down
Now its gone all butchered and bare nothing left but a big hole in the ground

IT'S MID-SUMMER AGAIN

It's mid-summer again with its mild and moist morning,
Soon whisked away by the mid-day sizzling breeze.
The gorgeous wildflower drinks of the sun's offering,
While butterflies sip of the lily blossom's wine on the lees.

Mid-summer is a time when love beads of rain cool the air;
The gentle beat of its falling seem a song of beneficence.
Then using the rainbow with his incomparable epic flair,
The Great Poet punctuates this grand verse with elegance.

As the birds are resting from their morning serenade,
They now allow the cricket its course at center stage.
The songbirds are cooling their throats in the shade,
Letting the hot sun with its prickling heat fiercely rage.

As the summer sun begins to appear as sweet red lips,
Like a dessert of refreshing sugared berries before me.
The evening breeze cools and my brow no longer drips,
As my eyes grow heavy and I dream of the new day to be.

Sunday's Gift Out On The Porch

Nip in the air speaks loudly
Seek a warmer place in the sun
Sun slowly speaks with a southern drawl
Her lavender dress creeping behind
Trailing a beautiful skirt on morn's horizon
Max, Maximilian Sunflower almost outsparkles the early sun
The sun that slowly glows orange through the Leland Cyrpress and woodsy trees
Whitey waits huddled against the corner post cold needing Sun to hurry along so she can
climb onto the roof enjoying the radiant heat
Nip wants to send me away so that warmth will penetrate aching bones
Desiring to visit with the weak crowing rooster's song for just a moment longer
Those moments that are swiftly passing now as the sun's radiant golden light comes higher
with sun loosing her gown of lavender
Becoming naked before the earth for their joining of spirits to reciprocate love for each other
Thanks to God for the day and for the life and beauty to enjoy once more!

pull though

we live in an angelic world made by numbers
all that i know that its made by nature
stones fall and trees grow
day by day we all grow together
all along we live in a beautiful world
we all rejoice together and bound together like leafs on a tree
just like how they fall and die
we can all do it some how we all have
some one to lean on
close our eyes and get lost in motion transition between man and nature
we can all pull though
sea is spinning around the world
the rain comes and goes
every time you see the snow comes a white light in our eyes
we all grow with cakes and candles
the old faces fade and so do the new
but we all live in a beautiful world
the sun rises every morning
for some others have there backs turn
but wats ever happed to our souls its happened to someone else
so dont look back and grow old
burn your anger not your soul
just think that your still have this beautiful world
were the sun will always smile in the morning at you
every time i look around i see beautiful
long green grass
gliding objects all over my head
and me and you together
i know we can all live together as the light touches our hands we think of future plans
so make me unstopperble

FIRST SUNBEAM

 FIRST SUNBEAM

  Ray of clear sun shows
   Across the heaps of snows

   The whiteness's rival,
   Announcing the soon arrival

Of a host of its fellows -
   Welcome yellows,

   Not yet melting -
   Calling distantly to spring.

   A simple beam of light
   Warning the winter’s white:

Our time is now, brother -
You must move over for another

Summer at last

My heart with joy is singing
No more pain no more crying
Summer’s sun is shining bright
In my world all seems right

God is incredible good to me
He heard my cry and set me free
He gives us no more than we can bear
I have a savior in Jesus I will not fear

Though I walk through the Valley of death
He sustains me He supplies each breath
The Sun came out and melted the frost
Thank God it is Summer my heart is warm at last

Pleasure Is

Pleasure is.
So sweet the seasons sounds,
That makes for those summer days.
Skies make for a back drop of hues of blue,
Sweet mowing grass now sheared as hay.

Upon my face the beads of perspiration,
As I wipe my fevered brow.
The days now long as I swing forth the scythe,
High above the sun beats down.

A shout breaks my concentration,
For it is Mary who is my love.
Under a large oak tree she shelters,
Truly a pure vision from above.

For with her a wicker basket,
Its contents now lay out before.
She beckons me come forward,
Asl my senses cry out for more.

In her tender arms my head gently lies,
Beneath a canopy of green.
Dappled sun light highlights her flowing hair,
For the world id trade, for these moments gleaned.

Before the Summer's gone

Sweet summer how I love you best
with gardens full in bloom
warmth of your morning day besets
the promise of cool waters soon

Forward see, I look to thee
cool river to carry away
the toil of a labored week now reached
and set my cares to play

Let me drift upon thy current
as beauty donees your banks
dip my toes a stress adjournment
now fill my dry and empty tank

Ah the heat of summer sun
some would dare complain...
Oh no, not floating wild river while sipping coke' n rum
enjoying blessings that came from long the winter rain

Bear on me the summers heat
turn my skin to bronze
light my locks and bare my feet
tis this season I find most fond

Soon the Autumn days will near
it's cool and hurried winds
bowing stocks of corn by ear
begging to be picked

Then I'll praise the Fall of days
it's country roads of colors changed
I'll heed my naps on bales of hay
dreaming of rivers I wish to wade

Good morning summer's sweetest powers
your brilliant blaze aglow
my thanks for all your fragrant flowers
thy refreshing waters too to dip my weary toes

Spring

The sun touches me and the cold leaves from within.
I smell the good clean earth beneath my feet again.
The ground isn’t frozen. It feels so fertile once more.
The wind kisses my skin with warmth I want to store.
It’s still very chilly around here late at night.
But the beauty of the sun has begun to be just right.
I see the tips of new growth, springing up everywhere.
At last I leave my winter lair, for I have much to prepare.
A shower is coming tomorrow. I must hurry to set my plants.
But first I must rake the old leaves, left from winter’s rants.
My dogs stay close beside me to sniff the new tilled earth.
Even the smallest animals, rejoice in spring’s rebirth.
The images that beseech me as I leave this old house…
Are young, fresh, and with their colors I’ll soon be doused.
As the heavens begin to open and again bless this land…
My mind opens to see, the touch of God’s own hand.

Gods Beauty

I thank your dearly god for all the days
You've shown us beauty in so many ways
The crimson sun against the smoky sky
The speckles of villages from mountains high
When everything is covered with a film of dust
Painting your trees 'n shrubs with a film of rust
September's trees in warm attire all flush
As they cover their bareness in quite a rush
The fires that creep over the hills at night
A pretty red rope is all that's in sight
So much awe in the wake of destruction
As all your creatures struggle to function
 Under October's sun bearing down
 Upon the ground completely brown
The rivers trickle to an absolute nil
As all the land becomes deathly still
Upon the flats as the heat's haze lingers there
Survival a must we can hardly bear
But the trees remind us it again soon will rain
As in faith their green leaves refutably remain
As the darkened clouds upon the horizon meet
The hope in the air drifting past is sickly sweet
The parched earth eagerly waits to greet
The large drops of manna falling at its feet
And we all breath a large sigh of relief
As with the waters gift, gone is the grief
Thank you god for all we go through
When we can't really see what's true
Time in its circle such a complex thing
We know healing u always will bring
 So much beauty does abound
That faith can always be found.

Enough is Enough

It's the seventh of June and the heat is turned on.
Yesterday was sunny, but today that's all gone.
It's rained, it's blown, it's been downright mean.
This is the worst excuse for Spring I've ever seen.

I'm cold, I'm cranky, I'm sick of the rain.
This miserable weather's going to drive me insane.
About six days so far the sun has come out
but it doesn't stay long, of that have no doubt.

I miss the real Spring of warm breezes and flowers,
walking in sunshine, soaking up sun by the hours.
The rain and the wind have chilled me to the bone.
I wonder if Mother Nature will pick up her phone

when I call to complain, gripe and whine too,
to tell her this weather, it simply won't do.
Enough is enough , this has gone on too long.
Sunshine come back here where you belong.

Spring

Apple, Peach, and Cherry Blossoms,
Spring Is in the Air
In Every Nook and Cranny
New Life Is Everywhere

The Sun Comes out Bright and Warm
To Shed It's Shimmering Light
Giving New Life to Grass and Trees
And to Each of Us Alike

The Wafting Smell of New Mown Grass
And the Wood Smoke of Burning Brush
Brings Back Memories of Youthful Days
Flooding in with a Joyous Rush

So Many Things to Do!
And Things in Need of Repair!
Brings Promise of Newborn Energy,
Oh Yes! Spring Is in the Air!

Spring Is a Time of Renewing Life
And the Mystery of the Sun
Helps Us Remember Who We Are
Created by God...We Are One.

The Rose At The Edge Of Autumn

The sun sincerely set tonight, the rising moon to night's delight, where water couplets parse the night and scattered roots thy rose. Fore every drop that sops the sky and leaves nay speck of dry behind, the lunar orbit weeps this night and scatters roots thy rose. Let us hear the couplets, let us feel the drops, let us be gravity's eventual stop; let us be the anchor of said idle ship, where impacting moisture meets receiving lips. The summer is singing the sun lullaby, the song be so tearful the sun has gone shy, it's hiding behind the yonder hill's boon, the sun has come ready to hibernate soon. The moon's a ready and glowing at ease, for time's never standing- it's pace has increased, the violet tulips have noticed their turn and scattered roots thy rose.

Fall into Spring

Autumn sun is going down, down, down.
Red leaves are turning brown, brown, brown.
Swift geese are flying south, south, south.
Hot cocoa warms my mouth, mouth, mouth.

The air is blowing cold, cold, cold.
Cornfields are growing old, old, old.
Blue skies change to gray, gray, gray.
I wish fall could stay, stay, stay.

Bonfire flames shoot high, high, high
Into the starry sky, sky, sky.
The only thing I fear, fear, fear
Is winter drawing near, near, near.

Bright colors start to fade, fade, fade
Into the darkness of the shade, shade, shade.
White snow mounds up in piles, piles, piles
And goes on for miles, miles, miles.

North wind chills my bones, bones, bones.
Frigid river creeps and moans, moans, moans.
This season seems too long, long, long
Till warm sun shines strong, strong, strong.

When flowers pop and bloom, bloom, bloom.
Their fragrance lifts my gloom, gloom, gloom.
Then my heart will sing, sing, sing,
Finally it’s SPRING, SPRING, SPRING!

Rain

Standing here by the door
While I watch the rain just poor
It is splashing on the ground as the rain
Drops come down even more
I decide to walk around in the rain
Hoping to see a rainbow
Even if I don’t I know it won’t be long
Untill the sun will comes out
And drys this all up
And I will sit out side
Watching the clouds roll by
And as the sun set changes colors
Knowing soon it will go and hide
And when morning arrives
I will watch the morning sun come out to play
As it gets ready to heat up this beautiful summer day
And I will sit out side latter on that night
Watching the clouds roll by
And as the sun set changes colors

Red Sky Morn

Stormed clouds bringing thunder and rain.
    Howls of wind, singing insane.
Lightening smacks earth, ringing in pain.

Rain drops rap windows, tapping like haunted fingers.
Puddles turn flood, trapping life that lingers.
Booms and flashes snapping the night with stingers.

Red sun rises, shining its kingly glow.
Mother Earth remains painfully quiet, with scratches and scars to show.
She dare not tell on the storm, for the sun can never know...

        Ssshhhh...

Such A Strange World

Such A Strange World

Such a strange world we live in
Cold air blowing while the warm sun shines
Snowflakes drifting softly to the ground
Shining like chips of the purest diamond they cover the ground
The sky turns into the deepest of baby blues as the sun rises
Making the soft white clouds brighter as they float by
White disappears turning grey in the face of winter’s fury
The winds blow as the light of the sun dies behind the clouds
The soft snowflakes turn to razors as they are whipped by the wind
All of the beauty of the earlier world is gone and forgotten
Snow dunes and ice mounds bury life as they move across the land
Shovels come out under the dim light of amber streetlights
Paths shoveled and reshoveled time after time throughout the night
The morning comes with its own shade of amber
The clouds are gone and the paths are clear
The streets have their own beauty and purity
The sun shines on the fresh snow, untouched by man
Showing that beauty can create chaos
Teaching that chaos can create beauty
A world of contradictions
Such a strange world we live in

A KISS OF SUNSHINE

People and Nature need sunshine,
it's a free gift God intended for all;
flowers turn to the sun to grow,
while humans seek it to feel fine.

Spring is meant for strolls to admire eloquent beauty,
Summer is the best season for many a beach-goer,
Fall is for the admirers of auburn trees delightful to the eye,
but Winter is for skiers who fear no sun rays on face and hair.

Never seen a woman or girl standing up blowing a kiss in radiant air?
Is it for her sweetheart, or for someone dearly missed as her mother?
She gets carried away thinking that clouds will deliver it to him or her...
either way, it's a gesture of thoughtfulness that shows profound care.

A guy doesn't think as a gal, he differs in thought and action...
he likes to give real kisses, not dream about them so vainly,
and being impatient and unromantic, he misses out on fantasy;
he rarely looks for any sunshine, only for lips that hold attraction.

Round and round

Quatern

Round, and round

Round and round, and round it goes
Circles everywhere
Every mystic always knows
This he always tries to share

Life, it goes in circles too
Round, and round, and round, it goes
It don’t mater what you do
That’s the way that all life flows

This be the way that we do grow
The seasons move in circles too
Round, and round, and round it goes
My friends, and really so do you

The moon and sun and everything
They move in circles don’t you know
Those circles back each thing will bring
Round, and round, and round it goes

day dreaming

that painting i look at every day.
god i wish i was there.
the beautiful orange leaves falling everywhere.
an old house just calling my name.
in the middle of nowhere.
i close my eyes and imagine the breeze.
it feels cool, i start to sneeze.
the clouds are moving to the west.
i lay down a blanket and watch the sun set.
the sun goes down as my phone rings.
i'm back at the office my dream is gone.
i look at the painting whistfully, i'll be back.
i start to loose focus, there i am, under that tree.
staring at the clouds as leaves fall around me.
snap, back at the office again.
until tomorrow my beautiful friend.

NORWESTER I seasonal vicious squall

It was well past noon when I stepped out on the street The sun blazed above and the tar squelched beneath my feet No birds chirped nor eagle soared As I waited in the heat for a bus to board The roads were empty and the journey was fast With another bus behind, doggedly trying to speed past Vying for passengers though only a few were about The heat restricted movement –of that there was no doubt! The sky had darkened when I got off the bus The wind was cooling and blew in gusts Gathering scraps of refuse in swirling dusty piles Scattering them again with the wilfulness of a child’s The sun was shrouded and dark clouds now ruled The change was pleasant, the weather had also cooled I knew a storm was brewing, but not how long I had To cover the open distance to where we lived with dad At that point in time there seemed no sense in hurrying A pleasant walk was favoured to an insane scurrying I had a mile to cover – home was thus far A fifteen minute walk or a couple of minutes by car At the end of the road, I turned right A canopy of thick foliage shielded the dusky light Garlanding a square lake with waters, now dark And two tiny islands amidst, all part of a park The air, here, was thick with the raucous cawing of crows Where colonies nested and now lined the branches in rows In this pristine oasis amid the city’s noxious fumes Nature reigns unfettered in her many-hued plumes

IT WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF SUMMER

It was in the middle of summer,
And the sun was burning bright and warm.
Up in the sky,
There was not a cloud in sight;
Only the cool summer breeze,
That blew around the day.
You were standing looking my way,
And I don’t know why,
But I looked back and saw you,
And I thought you called to me.
Before I could take a step,
A gust of wind pushed me back,
And the bright sun blinded my eyes.
Then out of the turbulence around me,
I saw you come to me and reach out.
My heart also reached out to you,
And in that magnetic attraction,
I could smell the scent of your skin,
Though I could not put my hand in yours.
I wanted to stay and be with you,
But I found myself walking away instead.
Why did I not reach out and hold on?
Why did I not stay for the sake of love?
Then I realized it was like all summer feelings;
It was short and sweet,
It was good while it lasted,
Though I miss it when it’s gone.
My summer sun, my summer breeze –
Oh, yes, it was in the middle of summer.

The Sins I Commited When I Loved Him Too Much.

I knew the rules, the engagement of us, he had a wound on his chin, he told me it was ages
ago...

he told me about her, he never spoke her name softly enough.

I sat on floors as I looked out windows, I stared for the time it took him to pull his
jeans up, I heard his fingers fumble at the button, his callouses rubbing against metal
and the quick goodbye of a zipper, and I knew it was summer, but the sun seemed to mock
me, the sun rose two hands too far for me to feel her.

“One day, one day, you'll love only me,” I whispered to myself, loud enough to break the
silence but quiet enough so he wouldn't know he had hurt me, though my tone wasn't
convincing and I could never stop the tears.

I pressed my back against pillows and sunk quietly into where he lay his head as I closed
my eyes, I made myself familiar with the fabric of blankets, the soft pattern of quilts
and discovered a new way to hide, and I hid from him so he would stay...

I would have done anything if he would just stay.

He reached over to kiss me, to touch my cheek and run his hand over the freckles no one
ever saw, he smiled for a second, for the moment it took for me to curl up into him, my
lashes tickled his arm, my tears traced over his tattoo and I found it hard to let go.

I composed myself, I looked into his eyes, I thought about how sad it was that I begged
for him even when he was right there, I stopped for a second when he opened his mouth, I
followed the trails of his breath as if they were swimming through my air, and he told me
that I was the only one who ever made him happy...

I shook my head, I blinked and found love to be ironic because the feel of him was killing
me, I kissed him, lips meeting and sins committed, and for the time it took him to walk
out my door, I turned my head and stared out my summer promising window...

just to watch him leave.

The Bird Song

   The Bird Song

Icy fingers from the lake
tenderly caress the dew.
Foggy digits turn to vapor
when the sun comes into view.

Sunlight bursts into the meadow.
Birds sing the song of a new day.
A family of deer finishing up breakfast.
I watch as the fawn begin to play.

Staring at the splendor of nature I'm humbled
by the magnificent day the Lord has made.
I'm reminded of a game of hide n seek as I watch
the sun playfully find the hiding shade.

The trees changing colors tell the season.
As the warmth of summer gives in to the fall.
Time rolling on in sweet harmony.
The bird song a testimony to it all.

As a visitor to this glorious moment
I must give the Lord praise, glory, and fame.
After a fleeting look back at the meadow
I shall go back from whence I came.

Sunlight Slipping through the Cracks

That small keyhole of morning sifts through the nighttime sky,
casts an orange shadow upon drawn curtains,
hear the birds chirping and hear the grasshopper’s cry,
the moon is dipping and the sun feels shy.

Alarm clocks have not yet sounded,
eyes are still heavy with sleep,
new corners of the bed have yet been founded,
hours left to snooze remain uncounted.

Orange dissolves into a subtle gold,
fresh grass blades shining with dew,
the sun once again feels bold,
squirrels peek out of their wooded folds.

Invincible Summer

I wish I had within me
Where I often could release
The heat of summers' sunshine
To escape Decembers' freeze.

A space - beside my bones
Where I could taste the feel of warm
And conjure up a bright sky
To replace a snowy storm.

I wish I lived year round
And had an ocean as my view;
Where sun shone on the waves
And skies were almost always blue.

I wish I had within me -
Constant as the rising moon
A summer - quite invincible
To mimic days of June.

I wish I could awaken
By the warm and sandy shore;
The sound of gentle waves
I'd hear outside my cottage door.

I wish that winter-time
Was where I'd visit, here and there.
A day or two vacation -
Than head back to warmer air.

And if my bones and joints
Could scream out how they really feel -
You'd hear them beg for warmer days
And sun to make them heal.

So for now, I wish, within me
I could choose, and I'd belong
To just one season for my soul
And summer all year long

Whats up there

High in the autumnal air the smell of wood burning is everywhere
Folks tidying gardens love to burn forgetting that smoke has only upwards to go
What else is up here, yes, the feel of cold winds
As summer leaves us and autumn unfolds the air is full of coldness, making noses twitch
Thinking of winter and the cosiness of this reminds us that fireworks will soon abound
Lit on the ground but straight up they come to explode there
Making the air smell of age old battles
When gunpowder was king, just a memory within the mind of the old
Who read of these things

Romance is in the autumn air after the warmth of the sun made the love grow
Needs the cosiness of autumn to keep, the pair together to find the love they knew
Oh autumn air with clouds in your way push them aside, so the sun can stay
Send warmth down to us, we need it each day, or we will wither and die
The air is full of surprises, the birds flying in to stay
Cos some  like the cold weather, then there's those that flyaway
The bees and butterflies are near finished, nectar is collected     Job is done
The noise of the snores of the hedghogs and such, as asleep they will stay
Until the air is of springtime, they will awake .

Goodnight autumnal bliss, i look forward to a new you each day.

SADNESS DISSIPATES AS HAZE

Clouds bring on a storm,
the hidden sun can't keep me warm,
winter is months away,
but sadness dissipates as haze...
when sun rays start a celestial blaze;
who, besides me, wouldn't wish to stay?

On this bay, the ocean breeze
is cooler than the city's wind...
nothing get trapped among skyscrapers;
I can easily breathe and think of something wild:
like sailing on the fastest boat and discover amazing places
and nearing the orange horizon, I'll succumb to tears!

Come brilliant sunset, pause to let me admire
how you spread your pastels throughout the entire universe
to make many dream, or wish they owned some of it for escape;
come lovely sunset, and charm me with the scenery of bright colors
never seen in the evening sky, and this sighting I'll behold to soothe any dire
to reach the unnamed comets and galaxies beyond it!

Stars march towards me, quicker than warriors,
invading my limited space;
let them shine as many distant suns
while sadness dissipates as haze
to get rid of all menacing clouds...
before they strip meadows of their beautiful flowers!

An Ode to Birth and Death

Darkness ended, Winter released her icy grip; budding crystals soon began to drip.

The Earth then tendered, its surface filled with life; Spring now wed to Summer, the
radiant rays piercing the frozen skies.

But Beauty gives way to Destruction and forests turn to tinder.

Here lies the crossroads, an Ode to Birth and Death.

A flower that slowly bloomed left stranded now in late Spring, scorched by Summer’s rays,
but oh its beauty still remains.

It lives on desolate ground. A mind unfolded, it's heart retouched.

And at last outlasted a depression that once did rule. And you the fair Demise, how will
you compromise? When we together win the prize.

Flailing futilely in a sea of lies; the Fountain of Youth was found, its waters tainted.

Perhaps it’s best not to toy with Life and Death.

The Seasons unwillingly shifting, the Sun now in full bloom, and the flower starts to wilt;

Beautiful, as death begins to set, while Summer touched the Earth.

Petals fall away like tear drops on the skin, and light penetrates in a wonderful array.

Ever growing heat, now begins to drain them of life, while petals turned to dust, carried
away in gusts.

Together fertilized, yet unaware, it only dares to bring about despair.

Death gives back again to Life; an early end to a late start.

A new beginning comes from dust and decay, as the Summer sun now fades away.

The burning skies teaming with gray.

Death takes a new form; white, blinding, crushing and consuming.

Oh but gorgeous it remains, In time, life grows again,

Coming from the wastes of a flower that late bloomed.Yet life anew begins too soon.

In Winter’s last grasp, her touch did drain, when frozen ashes did remain;

Here is life’s penultimate breath, the greatest Ode to Birth and Death.

Sensations of spring

spring only come's once a year
so celebrate it now while it's here
the flowers starting to bloom
gardens so full there not much room
new life starts to fill the world
as the seed of life starts to uncurl
with fresh start new love begins
when sun sets and light then dims
a whole new place circles the planet
as winter ends and finally sets
between the two most famous seasons
but its there because it has a reason
as spring begins so does the hope
with the new sun the people can then cope
the fall of the cool rain and the warming of sun
to let everyone know spring has begun

A global warming almanac

Januari brings the glow, that
Makes the beech and filbert grow

February brings the rain, that
Warms our open pool again

March brings breezes hot and still, that
Make demand for doctors skill

April brings a brimstone heat, that
Scatters blisters on our feet

May brings lots of reddish tan,
Searing sun hurts where it can

June brings flies in overdoses, that
Fill the children’s eyes and noses

Hot July brings broiling hours, with
Scalding spots and singeing showers

August sun burns sheaves of corn and
Never harvest home is borne

Warm September brings the fruit,
Tropic species start to shoot

Brown October turns virescent
There you see what's Natures present

Dull November lives at last
Lets the leaves grow whizzing fast

Chill December’s obsolete
Freezer pop’s the Christmas treat

storm and rain

how must i wake this morning
when heralded with storm and rain
that wash my tired eyes through glass i recite the days long pain
again and again oh again and again
how must i wake this morning
how must i break this shame.

shelter me from the heavy darkened shadows
that remind me of the sun that once envigarated passions
see me stood in winter fashions
with skin unblemished pale and dour
give me the sun that blossoms flowers
when the seconds chase the hours.

i exist in time not having lived this life
like a fictional inanimate shape
born of one mans imagination
only to be brought to life in social situations
give me patience or free me with eternal life
stick my back in knife.

just simply give me strength
so when again the morning heralds me
i may face it cap in hand
smile and make a stand
I'll greet each days storm and rain
with hope of facing sun again.

Haze

Haze
July 14th, 2012
By: Sami LaRose

I'm high and dry and dying is a trend these days
In the dark days of November is
where I'm most okay
Lost in the cold without a soul, when it is okay to be alone
It's in the summer where things get funnier
I start to run away
I hide in corners and lurk in the shadows until the sun goes away
And night time is the right time to go out and get away
It's nice in the dark, the sun is too hot for someone who's always in a haze

My Friend - My Love

My friend the sun is setting and the days will soon grow cold.
What is new must grow old.
The spectacular scene of swarming rays beside crystal light must dim to shade.
Those ravishing ripples will soon grow course and fun in the sun will strike a pause.
Wind will bellow like a swarm of bees or biting ants that maze the moulding mud.

To conflict but to confide will only heighten winters pride.
Damnation two competing souls will draw to an un-victorious pause.
Yet no battle is ever won to humans the war continues on.

My love, a plea is as contceptive as talk within actions truth is bred.
Cruelty is masked by normality, charms of a conquest is often too lightly walked into.
You have beaten one clever soul, whose grip was fun but turned cold.
Now deceit grows a new face one who knows not his inflicting ways.

My friend I love to waltz in summertime’s brew however dreamers fall in line.
Lions await the waiting feline.
Crickets click and fish do swim whose lake do you jump in?

My love the summer often wins first prize but even winter has a golden side
Embellish in the colours summer offers you, but allow winter to warm you.
Lick the fire as you kissed the sun.
Feel heaven in four seasons yet to come.

My friend, loneliness will hold us down consuming us with the rain that beats us down.
My love, reverse that beating to walk what’s knew.
Enjoy your existence, the diamonds is within you.

My friend happiness is not just sun, in finding joy in the seasons four
And loving the gems that you live for.

Forever Fall

Dark and cold as dawn sets in
And the grass is moist by the dew
So serene and blessed
How morning suddenly grew.

The sky lightens
Ready to greet the sun
The plants eagerly await
To soak in the heat as one.

Noon awakes, knowing its job
Is to warm the world
No wonder the sun is a god
Just hear the stream purl.

Soon the day turns to dusk
And the leaves continue to fall
The animals find their way home
As the sun sends its last call.

Darkness overshadows the light
And all that is visible are lit pumpkins
Until the sky welcomes the moon
More is seen when the shine begins.

Now nothing can take this away
That day and that night
The start of autumn
A mesmerizing sight.

Exhalted

I saw the Sun and the Moon take a stance in the universe.
And an unknown Star placed over them was put in charge.
The whole entire inhabitants scattered themselves at large.
And all the lands and seas became separated by a diverse.

The Sun Shined brightly in the west never to set in a curse.
The Moon gleamed fully bright to the east as the surcharge.
The door had been widely opened and many came by barge.
The stress was great because the world went into a reverse.

Fate and destiny was being dished out like a deck of cards.
Skies lit up and the Stars came back out like never before.
And the palm trees took up to the seas like standing guards.
And from this stemmed growth from that one opened door.

The Sun and Moon are exalted above and beyond you all,
And so is the Star in charge of those that flaw in its thrall.

The Shower

I sit inside
Watching the rain,
Tracing it's path
Down the window pane.

I gaze at the people
Rushing past,
Praying the shower
Will not last.

Coats are buttoned,
Umbrellas brought out.
It's a downpour
There's no doubt.

Snug inside
I sip my tea,
Getting wet
Is not for me.

People dash for cover
As the rain pelts down,
Making the puddles
A murky brown.

The streets are empty,
As the rain reaches it's worst.
It's a good job
I found shelter first.

Slowly the puddles
Stop growing in size,
The sun and the rain
Reach a compromise.

As the rain drizzles down
And the sun reappears,
I see the most beautiful
rainbow I've seen in years.

People emerge
From under trees,
All that's left
Is a refreshing breeze.

Although it's dry
I want to stay another hour,
I'll watch and watch
For the next winter shower.

The seasons change

Not so long ago I stood in the sun.
Taking in the warmth and having some fun.
The days were long and the sky so blue,
The days were long yet I longed for you…

The days grow shorter the warmth is gone,
Leaves change colors winter won’t be long.
Frost glitters in the sun and melts away,
Things slowly fade that I wish could have stayed.

The wind gets colder the skies grow dark,
They rip through me sending a chill to my heart.
I look to the sky and see the birds fly away
Fall is gone and winter is on the way.

The sky opens up and the snow begins to fall.
It blankets the earth covering it all.
Still I remember what buried below,
I must wait until spring for it to show.

The sun grows stronger the winter ices melt.
As it touches my skin the warmth is felt.
Birds return singing as if to rejoice,
The rebirth of spring seems to be in their voice.

As years fly by so many seasons and change
As a new one comes, the last moves out of range.
The seasons become like stages in life
Some filled with beauty, others with strife.

Spring becomes like when you begin,
Summer is the times in the life that you win.
Autumn is like when you start to grow old.
Winter becomes tears frozen from cold.

Dunedin

City down south where fresh chill of every morning awakes to consciousness my likely to break into action bones
I have come from a place where the sun shines all year and time long for which it never tires out of giving heat; direct
and ardent, often scorching heat. Here I feel no heat from even the brightest sun for the wind blows cold that always
whiff the face as if saying "awaken the sun in your heart, your inner warmth inside which forever burns and now let it!"
So I smile and embrace the cold air in response saying "Thank you... I have let it from the time that you said Hello."
The everyday greetings of the trees never fail to please my eyes. I have never seen such lush and vibrant colors of
purple, pink, white, yellow, orange, and then from the daring dark of green to a subtle tint of yellow to gold. It all speaks
to me… depicting moods of everyday lives changing by the seasons and every moment of life. My mind raises to the
many seasons I long to see and experience and I feel very much alive.

another year

another year has finished its foward dance one more year maybe one more chance.
as these seasons are born then die it happens so fast they way times fly by
one day the sun bright and blinding your eye the next day its gone only clouds in the sky
color of the winter drains you the endless gray another season for it all to go away
how can one stand beside the clock counting away the year tick tick tock
a constant reminder of our finite time a constant countdown to the final chime
and every year i try to keep the chin high alas every year till the day i die
every fall brings a pang of regret for those i love and those i neglect
the leaves die making room for the new i think we all do the same thing too
spring speaks of a fresh start and relief to those with heavy winter hearts
the promise of sun and a new begining a small clue in alife with little meaning
summer comes we wait all year the days are long the skys are clear
radiating sun keeps energys high but summers so short no matter how hard one trys
so many memories attached to these seasons a million guesses a hundred reasons
the smell of the flower that blooms in may always reminds of long forgotten day
crisp air before the very first snow always hints to me somthing i should know
even thoe this life is so short and fast i would trade nothing fo all the seasons past
i put down my pen and start to reflect no matter what lifes amazing in retrospect
so live each season like it was the end lifes not measured on a watch my friend
its weighed in the hearts of those lived it every ounce day by day bit by bit
another year has gone away so weigh your love everyday kept in a safe place
doesnt matter what this is your life your day keep to that you cant lose face
another year has completed its run soon enough once again greeted by the sun

Memorable Sounds of Summer

The early morning sun peeks in through my window
And I have to awake once sun light kisses my face
The first sound I hear, and my favorite of all
Are the chirping hummingbirds, resting
Upon the trellis where honeysuckle winds
They seem to beckon me, come greet the day!”
Hurried bare feet patter on cool hard wood floor
As I head towards the kitchen making sure the clock is right
It's too late for breakfast, but the coffee machine softly hums
Hmmm! Delicious! Coffee always smells so divine!
It’ not quite noon, but kids are already at the pool
Splashing loudly, “Marco Polo!” They serenade
There goes the ice cream truck, slowly rolling down some street
Playing nursery rhyme jingles making stops along the way
Children screeching, with Moms’ admonishing
Ice cream, for the moment, is all they can see
Down to the beach, later, I am sure to go
Where lively ocean waves, Smack the crowded shore
As sea gulls screech, and fight over their meal
And laughter erupts from kids, big and small
In the cool of the evening with the sun ending its watch
The smooth sounds of a lone saxophone, rides the breeze
jazzy and so cool! Wafting in the air for all to enjoy
All these are, my most memorable sounds of a hot summer’s day!

Winter

Winter is so long
So cold
So very lonely

Oaks winter undressed limbs
Stretch into the bone chilling darkness
Seeking as if to be clothed

She is the embodiment of my sorrow
The bleakness of my empty heart
Like Oak I too am barren

Under this moonlit night
Oaks silent limbs silhouette like a widow in black lace
Entwined in the grey mist rising from the lake

It looks like a backdrop for a spooky movie set
I almost expect the lone ominous black cape-hooded rider
To emerge through the haze with its scythe

It was near here we often sat - in the sunshine
Throwing bread crumbs to the ducks
We laughed and kissed under Oaks green canopy

Serenaded by bird song
We were the embodiment of oneness
Words couldn’t express
We just knew words were not necessary

We fulfilled each other
There was no want
No need
Except - to continue

We embraced the setting sun knowing
The sun rose everyday-

But now
Just an eerie silent grey mist rising
A stark reminder
Of the absence of your sunshine
Your warmth- your comfort

I wait solemnly-
Longing for spring-
For summer-

The Desert

When winter storms depart
spring is in a desert's heart
Days are long
as hills are steep
Under the sand
memories sleep
Look out over
nothing but land
There's only
the sky and the sand
The sun lights
the burning plains
And clouds refuse
to send the rains
At night
restless winds blow
And all is still
on earth below
The stars shine
brightly overhead
The sun rises and sets
above each bed

To be Forever in Autumn

   It's so warm...
The clouds are shifting...
I can feel the bright evening sun curessing my face.
The cool wind ruffels my hair.
I can hear the small leaves red, brown, yellow, and orange wispering in my ears.
I see them glinding down from the sky...
The smell of burned firewood and fresh grass, entangling my senses, setting them aflare.
Children running and laughing as the sun swifly moves behind the trees...
Squires nessel in the holes of them, mouths full of stored nuts for the winter.
Everyone's preparing for the coming of a new season.....except me.
I want to enjoy, to engolf myself forever in this warm tingleling sensation...
To be forever in Autumn.

Winter Gone

"Winter Gone"

Of winter gone I'd rather write,
Than that which slows river's flow.
Of butterfly or sun so bright,
Rather than of sparkling snow.

But come to think as oft I do,
Winter winds charm the frost.
Sky of day so brightest blue,
Adrift in snow all time is lost.

So now I'll think of summer heat,
I'll write of green and flower sheen.
Not of ice nor of sleet,
Nor of winter's feast so lean.

Frozen land or ice bound lake,
Not which holds my thought.
For in bright sun I now bake,
This day will of me martyr make.

The Sun on the Horizon

Honeydew on the grass sparkles with life as the Sun comes up shining.
Way up yonder the Horizon’s preparing for its glorious arising.
Purple, blue and gray radiantly come together and all stand out alone,
Way up under this great big earthly dome.
Bird’s shadows fly at distances, yet each distinct by their flocks belted,
And each disappears away in colorful misty skies where all of them roam!
Beauty in foresight is clearly seen on this perfect unthought-of day,
Even to my own likings of a surprising.
Too compelling just knowing that all days are counted by,
Each exact group already individualized by being numbered!
Foliage secretes from its many branches of trees per several hundreds.
All with there own story to make known to the unknown.
Consistently re-budding as season’s change to each one that is now arising.
All seeming to prepare for that God-awful battle called Armageddon.
Years pass on and still the Sun comes onto the horizon.
Life’s at a standstill, yet, steadily ticking with the hands of time to carry on.
Nothing can be done to stop the cycle of our Earth’s creation.
For every beginning there is and ending as it is to see
Dawning is “The Sun on the Horizon”!
Be thankful that you have this very day,
For the Sun is rising upon the horizon,
What a wonderful liaison!

Rain

The harshness of winter has finally past.
Springtime is upon us finally at last.
No more dulldrums of winter to tax my brain, and the season I love the best
espically the rain.

I could sit and watch as the flowers and the trees flurish and bloom,
and I know that because of natures miracles all the colors will be out soon.

Finally I love to walk out ,and look up,and feel the rain trickle on my face,
take off my shoes and socks and jump from puddle to puddle all ove the place.

But at last all good things must come to an end. The sun is coming out and
gone is the rain, my friend.
As I sit on the porch with the sun glistening in my eyes, I cant help but wonder
how long before the next storm comes by.

TASTING THE WARMEST RAIN

Spring, as always, has mild days of sun and clouds,
and in between, it sends down the thinniest rain seemingly blue;
I'm blessed to taste it as it runs down the mounds,
below the hazy town seems empty almost vanishing fron view.

The further I go down, the closer I see the unrhythmic streets:
people walk as ghosts wearing broody faces as they hold umbrellas made for giants;
there's the highway that'll take me home, where snow alters landscapes and sounds,
but tasting the warmest rain compliments me for the lack of cheers.

Several thirty-story skyscrapers will block the sun from shining free,
this southern town, hidden among mountains, has known poverty;
the unemployed and young want jobs despite change and monotony;
they, too will taste the warmest rain and will dream of an age of prosperity.

A sun ray that brightens a day
And makes us want it to stay
The warmth fills us in ways
                      That make us happy anyway
The sun ray makes my day
And can keep coming my way
It's like a siloutte of orange
                      That makes me feel reborn
                      It's a wonderful thing
                      That makes me sing
                      With each days sun ray

It's Easter

Woke up this morning, in my home all alone
Set up your picture, in the hall by the phone
I glanced at the kids faces, hanging there on the wall
Dropped to my knees and prayed, there in the hall

I looked out in the yard, through the kitchen window
Saw white and yellow tulips, blooming beside our broken home
And there on the table, set the empty Easter baskets
Oh! Now my heart is filled, with all of my regrets

Today the sun is shining down, on the yard so bright
The grass is all new, looking so fresh and green
Oh! darling It's Easter, It's Easter
Last night you packed and left, after our terrible fight
Oh! but darling, you have to know
That those words, I didn't mean
Darling It's Easter, It's Easter

Now I'm standing here knee deep, in this bed of flowers
As my eyes start to drop tears, down like April showers
Oh! darling I can't bare, being alone on this Easter day
My God please open your eyes, and turn around today

I know now, that I've been taking you for granted
But if you come back, I promise I'll be the man you wanted
For this is to be, one of the happiest days of the year
But darling you left because of me, and now I shed these tears

Today the sun is shinig down, on the yard so bright
The grass is all new, looking so fresh and green
Oh! darling It's Easter, It's Easter
Last night you packed and left, after our terrible fight
Oh! But darling, you have to know
That those words, I didn't mean
Darling It's Easter, It's Easter

Sun

The sun-sparkle of this summer has gone
It leaves a bad taste in my mouth

That hot, heady heat seeping through the cracked pavement
Seemed to create the chaos and din

But only the dark mist of winter is left
And somehow it doesn’t seem quite right.

How did I loose my mind you ask?
A different city, a different beat

As the sun shone on that splintered pavement
My heart pushed my head out the way.

Now I am back in the familiar I have to ask who I was
I’m not sure you know, but I hope I never come back.

For now, as the ache of the cold winter sets in
And I am back in that familiar face,

I can only assume the sun was to blame
In that warm, unfamiliar place.

June-uary

june-uary
where we still have to
cover up our little dairy airys

can't open the windows
for in fear of it still may snow

but it did reach ninety eight in may
but soon how it went away

now nights reaching for that extra blanket
as temputures hits the low double digits

waking up to morning dew
butterflies can't and won't even land and chew

clouds of mattered grey
just won't let the sun come out to play

just raindrops tapping on my window
as the fury wind whips and blows

cotton balls fluttering thru the air
hearing aw choo's everywhere

not sure if the sun will ever shine
or if the temputures will get out of their binds

for I know july is right around the corner
and I want to be able to celebrate with other horner's

so june-uary please turn your other cheek
and return our sun for which we seek

a gift , a curse

the sun beams its beautiful warm rays down onto us . ask nearly
anyone, what their favorite weather is , sunny would be the answer.
every plant , animal and human needs the sun ... and enjoys it so.
strange how something so crucial , can also cause cancer .

the wind feels fantastic , on a sunny day . nothing feels better
than a much needed breeze , while catching rays , lying on a beach towel .
cruising the boulevard , hair blowing in the wind . buildings crumbling
over into the streets , homes losing their structure ...a terrifying howl .

enjoying a brisk drive through the countryside . gorgeous , natural
landscaping , outlining the rural roads . rain falling , rainbows, stunning hues,
a soft wind . water feeds the plant life , drenching the soil . the blacktop
becomes slick , tires slide .... horrible crunching , screams ... death ensues .

drink in hand , walking after a quiet rain , taking advantage of the fresh air.
darkness begins to fall over the sky . feelings of being watched , haunt her
imagination . a short cut , through an alley , proves fatal . two men
approach ...demanding money . the brutal attack ... she could not deter.

the most natural thing in the world , some would say . two warm bodies
entwined , kissing , caressing , expressing deep desires , anything to please.
seamingly melting in each others arms , leaves them wanting more . at
the time , never considering , death from a venereal disease .

Time

The ticking of the little hands,
Brings hours to the foreign lands,
Brings the stars out at night,
And dark overcomes the light.

The ticking of the little clock,
Brings sailors to the rocking dock,
Brings people home from far away,
And brings the summer and spring day.

The time is clock and clock is time,
The seconds of it made this rhyme,
It wove the threads of years past,
And makes the years ahead seem vast.

It tells men when to get to work,
And foxes just when they should lurk,
And the owl who goes to bed,
When we get up, Sleepyhead!

It tells the moon to go away,
And when the sun should stay,
It tells the moon to come about,
And tells the sun to blow light out.

It makes the grass turn brown or green,
It tells the mallard when to preen,
It tells mostly everything,
Even when the birds should sing.

I think this poem now should end,
But remember time is friend,
It sometimes may seem enemy,
But in the end you will see.

How Beautiful is the Sun

The warmth of the sun as it shines upon my face not only makes my face glow,
but it also helps my gloomy heart to radiate a soft aura.
How intense and powerful this star we call the sun.
As it slowly seeps up over the horizon from the East, it already begins its
marvelous shimmer. The radiant reds, fiery oranges, and even a touch of
yellow- for good measure.
Once it is risen from the horizon level it is so majestic,
How it mirrors over the ocean and along the beach. It continues to rise overhead,
while we scurry about our day and hectic lives.
We take its energy and light for granted not even thinking twice about if it were not
there.
Yes I believe sunrises are so special, but have you seen the brilliance of colors
in the sky when it is time for the sun to set.
They say if the sun is setting over the water you can hear it hiss.
As for me I would like to think it is true.
Some of the most beautiful sunsets occur over the water with pretty shades of
pinks, peach, and not to mention those purple colors. The way the colored
clouds seem to signal the end of another glorious day of light from our intense
star, the sun.

Autumn Pantoum

On this autumn day
In the heart of the city
The sun will have it's say
The leaves look so pretty

In the heart of the city
Joy fills the air
The leaves look so pretty
It's life without care

Joy fills the air
This day is a dream
It's life without care
We are not what we seem

This day is a dream
Heat from above
We are not what we seem
From the sky comes love

Heat from above
The sun will have it's say
From the sky comes love
On this autumn day

Winter Sorrows

Winter you have
been so cruel
with the snow
you have sent
cold winds have
blown our way
oh, sun come out
from hiding behind
that cloud,
and melt this snow
once for all
spring please
wake up, send
warm winds
to ease our minds
and souls
so once again
we can enjoy
the warmth
and comfort, that
our sun shine brings
to our lives.

Simply Summer

Shining sun searing, sizzling, my scorched skin.
Summer summons suddenly, stories set sometime ago
Stories shaped so astonishingly, some say shadowy specter
Silently satisfied I sit, savoring seasoned story-tellers
Steadily speaking so sweet.
Soliciting salacious, sarcastic stories
Some stories sassily satirical.
Searing sun, scorching, smoldering our unshielded skin
Summer sings syrupy songs, songs so sweet soundingly
Symphonic
Smooth, symbolic, and surreal.
Summer sun setting silently
Setting silently summer stars...

Luxury of Living Things

Spring is in my steps.
It's tucked behind my ear in orange blossoms.
It shivers me in sun in morning breezes
and stops to coil seeds in soil spun.
It foils all the last attempts of winter
to ice and freeze the sapling green decree
while slipping songs to birds in rectifying
the quiet of the winter's revelry.
Spring is in my smile.
It's braided in my breath of peppermint
It has me waking irises from frozen ground in sleep
and crushing air perfume into their scent
It matches every moon to slip in silver
It breathes the sun and warms the sullen ground
It wakes to dance the prelude into summer
to the luxury of living things abound...

The Rose

A rose reaches to meet the sun shinning down
A worm vacates his home as water enters the ground
The sun goes in the moon comes out
The wind blows to shake the trees about
The rain falls to nurture the grass
Autumn approaches summers pass
Colours from green now orange and red
The rose once bloomed now is dead
Winter is quiet not much sound
A blanket of white now covers the ground
The rose gone bye winters doom
Springtime showing its new bloom

Exercising the Soul

Press the sky for answers
Wish for penny rain
Snapping, popping, tin-roof dropping
Copper ankles wade
Wear the moon as a necklace
Tears reflecting the stars
Falling, pooling, drown them unruly
Caught cold in shards, diamond hard
Riddle the sun with emotion
Prison of season's delight
Missing, crying, pale but undying
Winter seclusion is nigh
Trust the wind in the moors
Fog and mystery mist
See me, don't see me, emergency free me
with all of your soul in a thimble sized sip
Shine in the depths of the sea
Light up the indigo silt
Wash up on shores where the sun always shines
and the water recedes at your will
Shoulder the wind as a scarf
Tolerate mid-season moods
Walk up to winter, she's autumn's big sister
The exercise will do you good.

The Sweating Sun

My eyes watch the trees grow
as the sun sheds sweat.
The yellow beads of sweat taste sweet on my open mouth.
I am lost in all the sweetness around me.
The sun is sweating so much, it looks like rain.
Perspiration watering the trees
So I can watch them grow next spring.

Summer Days

There we were speeding along
the warm leather seats of the golf cart
asphalt hot under the wheels.

The sun shines down
ever radiant above
the sky is as blue as ever

The occasional shout heard by all
as someone is hurt or excited
the happiness and joy in our hearts

Small waves hit the shoreline of Lake Michigan
the screams of swimmers as the water hits them
the smell of sun screen in the heat.

Little children laughing in the pool
the random parent shouting "don't run"
all good times wraped around us like a blanket.

The dazzaling sunsets
the golden ball falls to its daily death
as the stars begin to shine

There's only one word to describe summer
those longs days, wonderful days in St. Joesph, MI
"AWESOME"

Then summer days fade away
fall hits with a resounding boom
and the hope for more summer days.

Disdainful Beauty

Disdainful beauty, goddess of the ice,
With gaze as piercing as a flint-tipped shard.
Age-old allure still does the Chill entice
To dance with her, and pose as Winter’s guard.

Her staff, which strikes the slipp’ry ground, commands
The timid Sun to seek his early death
And rules bold Night to sate all her demands;
She bends the iron with her frosty breath.

A sweeping cloak of snow behind her spreads
With ceaseless cold that trails within its wake.
As Winter, in her icy bearing, threads
Within a soul a crave, a pow’rful ache –

Desire to see the sun shine down once more,
Rememb’ring springtimes that had passed before.

Some thing is coming.

Yesterdays sun hides behind today's over cast while tomorrows storm echos in
the distant ,
the dense sun light prepares us for the rain, the fall leafs soon will be changing
color again,
the chill breeze we fill on our backs means winter is coming, time to work like
the preparing ant.
snowbirds scatter, mosquito's stings will soon leave our thoughts for the cold
bears a bad fillings for our two friends.

The smell brings to mind the holidays Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the thought
of another passing year,
a time for family , memories of the loved ones that past and the new members
who joined us,
we will sit break bread and toast to the future, treasure the present as we
laugh so hard at the past we twinkle a tear.
the holidays when all is forgiven and the rest is put behind, for now it`s about
love and happiness.

So let the clouds roll in, allow the leafs to change, and bring on the cold,
it`s that time of the year when we warm our hearts,
it`s that time of the year when we have them to hold.
and it`s that time of the year when the healing from the year starts.

Sun Starved

Sunshine on lips which have starved for a drop
of attention from forces impenetrably hot
Holding the hand of invention's conception
having cracked open the moon late last night
Eating the shell was a task of elation
Belly filled full with a thought born of mirrors
The moon on the inside was frozen, congealed
filled with inedible, silver holed dreams
Buoyancy stretched out it's hand to deliver
frost on the lips born to shake and to shiver
Moon shell reflective and only the image
of sun drops imbedded in all that's alive
Now, on the day after lunar consumption,
the yearning for solar shelled rejuvenation
eclipses all thoughts bent on birth or starvation
to lean toward the sun for new growth.

Sunshine (2005)

Waited a whole year the sun to shine
A walk in the park that is all mines
Brightening the world we live in
Giving a glow to my pale skin
Beautiful colours and smiles all around
I love the sun’s reflection on the ground
The flowers dance and butterflies glide
I wish the sun would come everyday like the tide

summer dreams

a year each time, we must wait
for warm climate the world creates,
the singing birds and the apple trees
so, full of wonders and covered in leaves
how can one world make such beautiful things?
At summer time the world just sings,
holiday sun and fun, fun times
it's coming soon if you see the signs,
hanging with friends and dips in the pool
a little bit of freshness to keep you cool,
little beach hut and sand and sea
a little world that is perfect for me,
sun tan lotion for the browning skin
how can this beautiful world be full of sin?
Gentle waves lapping at my toes,
like a little secrets no one knows
buzzing bees and butterflies
flapping there wings so they can fly,
waking up in summer is a beautiful dream
with no more cold that can be mean,
and the massive sun that now just shines
we are in the worlds most beautiful design.

Midnight Falls

The rising of the sun casts all into light
outlying the minute details of life
the hardship and struggle
and deprivation of hope.
The sun follows a dedicated route
from east to west never a new path
just like life itself
the same aches and pains dripping dripping
constantly through the I.V implemented
the symbols never change the seasons
the seasons never change their symbols
the plight of man can be simple enough
I can never be satisfied I want more
I need to want more
our minds can stretch beyond its borders
but yet we fall short of glory
time after time
just to reset time when time has come
just as midnight falls
so do we
