September

"September, beautiful month of my birth, is nigh, but I cannot feel glad." September, drifting in with glow of moon, you stifle Summer’s ardor. . . and she grieves. In guise of fire, the Fall comes all too soon. Your breath grows cool. You’ll blow and loosen leaves. The hills and woodlands will reflect new hues. You stifle Summer’s ardor. . . and she grieves. In Autumn’s chill, the colors are a ruse. For as you pass, the trees are set ablaze. The hills and woodlands then reflect new hues. Though warmth may linger through your final days, old Sun is waning, yet he still seems strong! For as you pass, the trees are set ablaze. September, you’re a melancholy song. Though time be short, you paint a brilliant dusk! Old sun is waning, yet he still seems strong. October looms. . . Your ending will be brusque. September, drifting in with glow of moon, though time be short, you paint a brilliant dusk. In guise of fire, the Fall comes all too soon. For the Melancholy Poetry Contest of Nayda Ivette Negron

I have earth to ground me I have wind to move me I have fire to cleanse
my spirit I have rain to quench my thirst for growth
I have sun to enlighten me feed me I am my own mother
and an extension of the whole I am Earth wind
rain sun fire I am as old as life and I am as young
as time I am shelter to those who seek me I am a bird a flower and the breath
of the earth itself I am exactly where I want to be I am life
I am first and last the beginning and the end I am one from many
I am what I am I live I grow and I die. I am Reborn unto myself
                                                          I am the great circle

Ode to Autumn

Earth’s sphere of fire bids adieu to me

As dying embers gleam across the sea

In rare hues reflected by autumn trees,

Swirling in motion with October’s breeze.

I feel the joy this season has to share

In golden harvest that the branches bear,

And I am thankful for this blessed year,

For divine abundance I share so dear.

The sun and moon take on a special glow

As thunder clouds move swiftly with the flow.

Yes, autumn coaxes feelings to revive,

Those mem’ries of past seasons still alive.

When autumn spreads her dress of lacey frost

I know, in breathless beauty, I’ll be lost.

Rainbow Skies

What would skies be without the mist,
Clouds colored by the dawn, sun kissed?

Such splendor rising pink and blue,
Lavender, silver, gold spun too.

Their shapes float softly through the sky
Cast in hues of Apollo's eye.

Gold, contrasts birds in silhouette
While dawn shines through their misty wet

As clouds express their sweet refrain
And we are blessed by morning rain.

When rainbows form in misty skies
Clouds present treasures for our eyes.

- Sensual And Beautiful -

The sun disappears in the horizon somewhere
it's not just me who regards the beauty
The horizon is a lovely color spectrum
The sky is like a watercolor paper
The colors float across the sky
                             Small narrow clouds create stripes
The sun drink some water from the ocean
Dipped its colors carefully in the ocean
Playing a bit with the waves
                                       It is an amazing sight
                                    The colors are so intensive
                                     It is sensual and beautiful
The sun disappears in the horizon somewhere
                                        I do not know where
but it has given me an inner peace and pleasure

When the Sun Sets on Me

I wonder where I will be
when the sun sets on me…
for if I were a flake of snow,
a dying breeze, or autumn leaf...
then I’d know.
I am but a blink of a father’s eye
desperate for answers to my words and rhymes
waiting for another world or God to intercede,
in what may come or ever may be.

I wonder where I will be
when the moon rises over me...
for if I were shadows in a cave,
a cricket, star, or ocean wave...
then I'd know.
I am but a drop of rain on a summer night
vaporizing where I fall and touch,
waiting for clouds and sky to again define me;
not knowing who I ever was or aimed to be.

If I am clay in my Maker’s hands…pliable, yielding,
I wonder where my own will comes to end
and where His fingers start forming me
into the masterpiece He desires me to be.
All the answers dancing gracefully,
from omnipotence and my need to be free…

I wonder where I’ll be, when I start to
speak, live, breathe, dance….fearlessly.
If I were air and sea, with all of Heaven shining on me,
then, I’d know…

When The Sun Sets

When the sun sets, The stars shine with no regrets. Darkness fills the air, The moon gives light with every care. The darkness is easier to walk through, Every light shining is so pure and true. Guidence forever are the stars in the sky, With them we find our places lifted so high. Forever is the moon to cast light upon us all, We become encouraged to stand firm and tall. The stars shine with no regrets, When the sun sets.

When the sun sets, Shining its powerful light it never forgets. Though light fades to darkness, It comes about with alertness. Shadows before the eye can see, The little shining light is enough to set us free. Sometimes we are afraid to walk alone in the dark, From which we were given a caustic remark. Guidance Forever is the changing of dark and light, It helps us to be strong and make one last fight. Forever are the shadows lurking at every turning point, If we give in it is ourselves we disappoint. Shining its powerful light it never forgets, When the sun sets.

When the sun sets, The sky is filled with wonderful colors that the ocean reflects. All the animals of the sea, Come forth creating a musical harmony. The waves crash upon the shore, Washing up new sand to the ocean floor. Its a beautiful site to see, The ocean sounds are calmingly free. Who's to say the ocean isn't peaceful get away, Its a calming place to relax and stay. The sky is filled with wonderful colors that the ocean reflects, When the sun sets.

A Ray of Sunlight

A Ray Of Sunlight

We had a ray of sunlight
On a crisp and cloudy day
It looked like a sparkling diamond
In those clouds so deep and grey
It was a welcome pause
During days of winter showers
When one was scared to blink
In case they miss those daylight hours

A lovely day of sunshine
Was nice to see once again
It left behind the weariness
Of all that goddamned rain
It became a nice reminder
That spring is on its way
Oh, how it cheers my heart so much
To see blue sky, not grey

We had a ray of sunlight
But now that ray has gone
As evening sky is all afire
As a deep red sky comes on
This is natures parting light
That my glad eyes can see
That the beauty of some heaven
Is waiting there for me

Moon and Sun

Although we meet the dying day Our sun ensconced in melting blue The moon’s held high to swing and sway Her light may sprinkle, softest hue No other reason but for you There’s a time when all stars must go When the sky can hold only two And that is when my love will grow. One night, the whitest white will stray Snowflakes sticking to dying rue The sun may flash its final ray But after that, the golden’s through And once again the night is new We’ll let the winters beauty show The fireplace our burning cue And that is when my love will grow. There is a time in early May When flowers bloom and spring is new Then laughter shakes as children play Shrieking with fun that’s over-due Who could cry today, guess a few. . . I’ve felt the sunshine’s warmest glow One day I’ll feel your warmest, too And that is when my love will grow. When sunshine fades, moon glows anew; And when she dips once more, he’ll go And when they’re in the sky, just two- And that is when my love will grow.

Crimson Sky

There’s scarlet within the warm sky tonight A crimson feel that envelopes alright I love the sight of every form of red Yellow seeps in with orange that bled World moves effortlessly along with this The colors of majestic times you wish I see the sky this dusk with awe and glee Seemingly to make me complete and free A crimson sky beams with peace and delight Sun dips into the ground and out of sight Birds recognize this beauty and dips down Reaches in the heart of the glow around Tranquil with love through the entry parlor The sky is filled with an awesome color

Leaves of Trees

O dried up leaf lying there on the ground Fallen from the top of a sturdy tree Where you viewed everything that was around While you bathed in the sunshine's glory You manufactured food from the sunlight And together with the help of the roots Faithfully nourished your parent just right Creating a sturdy tree bearing fruits In spring and summer you wore brilliant green And supplied shade to others from the sun In autumn you became more colourful and before winter dropped off one by one Even now as you lay there on the dirt Nature must move on in its cyclic line You shall soon become a part of the earth And become food for others of your kind

MOBILITY OF THE SUN

My Lord, you are the Poet,
Who notes me with thy strong hands.
I can only aspire to know it
And extend thy word to all known lands.

You have set in me for the sun
A tabernacle for his regal throne,
From which he arises for his daily run
Throughout heaven's every zone.

Each morn I await his excellent ascent.
Onward with his golden lamp of God,
He begins at one end of the firmament
And runs on with the light of Aaron's rod.

Ever Turning Circle

In winter’s white, as angels cry
for early spring to warm the wind,
to bring to life with gentle sigh,
in love, the bitter frost has thinned.

For early spring to warm the wind,
at Valentine’s romantic calls,
in love, the bitter frost has thinned,
where dancers twirl amid stone walls.

At Valentine’s romantic calls,
rebirth of nature’s light divine,
where dancers twirl amid stone walls,
and blossoms pastel shades recline.

Rebirth of nature’s light divine,
when day equals the hours of night,
and blossoms pastel shades recline,
to hail the queen of May in light.

When day equals the hours of night,
a summer’s sun will come to play,
to hail the queen of May in light,
we chant and sing along the way.

A summer’s sun will come to play,
so life can grow as gods decreed,
we chant and sing along the way,
with warmth and light our hunger feed.

So life can grow as gods decreed,
the rays of sun on seeds we’ve sown,
with warmth and light our hunger feed,
the wealth of harvest is our own.

The rays of sun on seeds we’ve sown,
in autumn breeze that chills the heat,
the wealth of harvest is our own,
as gold and red belies our feet.

In autumn breeze that chills the heat,
a year that ends with blessed Samhain,
as gold and red belies our feet,
the call of Ancient’s name to reign.

A year that ends with blessed Samhain,
to bring to life with gentle sigh,
the call of Ancient’s name to reign,
in winter’s white, as angels cry.

As Lovers Go

When Summer starts her transitory reign, King Sun, her beau, has steadily ascended, brightening a sky that, for a time, shall be his lovely mistress’ domain. He reaches out his welcoming warm rays across the span of Summer’s first official day, lengthening them just as far as he is allowed so he may well receive his paramour, enveloping her in the fullest of his golden grand embraces. But when night descends, Sun’s power wanes. His wife, a goddess, the fair and steadfast Luna, arrives to spell her king, along with her attendants, a host of radiant stars. Meanwhile, Mistress Summer softly slumbers, faintly breathing out the warmth that Sun has wrapped her in. So even in the dark’s coolness, she prevails. In the dewy dawn, when she awakes, Summer sees the beauty of her lover’s light and eagerly, she spurs her King Sun on. No two were ever so well-matched as these, for both heat up the days with their consuming ardor till the time of the equinox when Summer is exiled for nine months, to have her rebirth in the following year. And year after year, for what could be eternity, Sun bides his time, for he has many lovers. . . But as lovers go, it’s Summer who’s most expert at inciting the passion in his soul. by andrea dietrich/ Motif is nature. Also romance For the Impress Me Contest III of Giorgio V.

Day Break

The sun slowly rises over the horizon
casting its rays turning night to day.
Chasing away the lingering darkness
revealing the hills and shadow cast valleys.

Details become more apparent showing
the pretty flowers and stately trees.
With lake's waters glistening brightly
reflecting the beaming sun rays.

Peace of day now shattered by
the raucous chorus of crows.
As dipping down they fly
mugging the other birds.

Soon scattering at gunfire
from the farmers crop scarer's.
Joyful tunes now abound
As song birds sing out their hearts

Welcoming dawn's warm rays
hustle and bustle as people awake
and tranquillity slips away
as dawn becomes full day.

Sun

Sun comes stealthily through dawn’s blush - peeking up over the horizon. Climbing steadfastly to celestial heights - he reaches the crown of day as one who reigns supreme. Extending long arms, Sun shows forth his splendid strength - granting all subjects below. . . . illumination. Spreading his warmth, he exerts “sol” dominion over all. I show devotion baring skin to sky's great light. . . . warmth embraces me.

Sunset Tableau

Watching sunsets flare
Hypnotized we stare.
Horizons last light
Burning orange bright.
Heaven and earth one,
As our day is done.

Great Spirit, Hear Me

Great Spirit, Hear Me

Oh Great Spirit, voice I hear in my dreams
maker of lakes, mountains and streams
            Hear me.

I ask as one of your children
I seek food for family I must feed
Slow the deer that I may find
Send my arrow true to its mark
Great Spirit be in this so kind

Let me hear the forest praise You
The morning sun obey your call
The Sky water our lands
That our tribe may not fall

Your voice, wisdom and strength
hidden in the trees and the rocks
Give my days greater length
That I may care for my family

Oh Great Spirit, life to live
send your voice in the Wind
food for our children to eat
Show us the beauty in your making.

Fickle Sun

Fickle sun with watery eyes
low upon the horizon lies
hanging his boots over the side
of our soggy, rain weary world.
Disrespectful, his pipe smoke curled
around dripping mountains, blue dyed;
fickle sun with watery eyes
low upon the horizon lies.

My cute rain boots are filled with frogs!
The sun should shine! Old pedagogue
hanging his boots over the side,
over dripping mountains, blue dyed;
fickle sun with watery eyes
low upon the horizon lies.

While I was standing near My Autumn tree The Sun was fading, with all its grandeur and beauty, Somewhere far, very far away amid the Poplar trees. I was in a state of enchanted stillness, Beholding the gold which was showering on me, With every gush of wind coming from the east. The earth was wrapped in a lovely darkness, Slowly the Sun rays slipped away from the hands of the evening, but It embraced the night in her arms perhaps to console its forlorn heart. I was glued with the fragrance of Autumn, while the Sun was still fading slowly, Leaving only a yellow and radish glow in the sky. The golden leaves of Poplar were still falling on me, Coming to me while flying from the Poplar tree. Suddenly the birds said adieu to me, reminding me once again the passing of time, While I was standing near my Autumn tree. Ravindra Kanpur India 4th Sept. 2011

A Wreath on Dusk

How often I have watched the sun descending into dusk, and dusk, absorbing sun, exudes bright flavors for the eye. It's eye candy, often variegated, splendid in its hue. Those hues, dessert at end of day, sweeten with succulent delight. What delight in skies of mango, cantaloupe or marmalade, a marmalade of tangerine with raspberry mixed in! Sometimes in vanilla skies are Crème brûlée or honeyed gold; golden dollops of meringue above a lemon ball of sun. Other times, sun lies concealed by clouds in chocolate skies, or chocolate with the purple-gray of poi in cotton candy wisps of pink - pink or bright red cherry heavens, sometimes luscious plum - that plum reflected in blueberry seas; what treat in watching dusk! by Andrea Dietrich/written Aug. 9, 2012 For PD's Nature Contest

Lavender Rain

Breezes WHISPER in the trees after cleansing rain;
FRAGRANCE of Wisteria WAFTS following rain

Thoughts of my love's LILTING bass voice WAFTING brings BLISS,
As FRAGRANT Wisteria comes with flowing rain

As SPLENDOR of sun peeking from behind a cloud;
The bright glow and warmth is as TRANQUILIZING rain

DULCET sun melts cares better than TRANQUILIZER___
Better even after a spring soft washing rain

ELOQUENCE of my love's romantic poems soothes the heart,
SUNFLOWER listens through LAVENDER flowing rain.

Nature Portraits - Mountain, Sequoia, Sunset, Thunderstorm, Waterfall

The grandeur of a majestic mountain standing proud against the horizon with its snow-capped peak enveloped in fleecy white clouds against a clear azure blue sky The glorious majesty of a stately sequoia towering above the surrounding vegetation being the largest living thing on earth its massive trunk over thirty feet wide with its gnarled rugged beauty The wondrous artistry of the setting sun edging the darkened clouds with silver linings and painting the evening sky in brilliant colours of the rainbow mirrored on the ocean's surface below The awesome power of a thunderstorm at night with jagged bolts of lightning that split the darkness and light up the surroundings with blinding dazzling intensity The thunderous roar of a mighty waterfall cascading down in huge torrents of liquid fury smashing into the water below creating mists of water droplets that transform the sunlight into a rainbow

Summer Scent

Summer scent is the smell of freedom
where we can escape the flavor of boredom
so we plan to have our vacation on the beach
where we can relax and fresh air is within our reach

The warm wind tenderly embraced my spirit
I felt excited on this first visit
on an island where refugees can find paradise
an island where spending time is wise

The dulcet breeze gently kisses lush green trees
and the mirthful sun smiles over the vast seas
Where surfers play with gigantic waves
and are not certain on what road it paves

The fluffy clouds are smoothly sailing
the birds are singing and harmoniously dancing
There are butterflies that are colorful in hue
like enchanted fairies changing colors from pink to blue

I need my sun block, it's time for swimming
the tables are full because later we're all eating
Ladies are smiling to many cool surfer dudes
Children are hungry seeing delicious exotic foods

I picked a shell that whispered peacefully in my ears
and we built castles that we fancied over the years
out of the small grains of white sands
and all you need is helping hands

God was really great in creating splendid wonders
that were loved by all especially the nature lovers
There are numerous oceans that are aquamarine
and abundant trees and grasses that are green

The brother sun was slowly hiding
because the sister moon was coming
I guess it was our time to pack
but there will come a time for us to go back

Go back to a place of leisure and freedom
where you'll not taste the flavor of boredom
It would be hard for us to say goodbye
because truly we will come back and say Hi!

The Sun I See

                                                              Sun
                                                           rays pour
                                                  through the branches,
                                                          I sit under
trees and paint the horizon with my pen.

Strokes from my ink flow to each curve I write,
                                                     as drips from the
                                                           sun color
                                                              all I
                                                               see.
