my place in the sun

                 MY
PLACE IN THE SUN

a life without
giving is a life not
worth living in
truth my mother was
right,
but a life in a home
unsafe and alone was
all that was in my
sight.
upon considerable
reflection their
abuse and rejection
made absolutely no
sense,
but being a kid I
took it I did I was
too young to take
much offense.
 alone in my room I
did contemplate doom
in the laboring
silence of night,
and hanged my head
with thoughts of
dread with no
glimmer no inkling
of light.
but I made my way
out although filled
with self-doubt I
was unable to face
the truth,
that I had been
changed by the onset
of shame and my
suffering for years
is my proof.
grown up in the dark
with no sense of my
heart lusting for
bells and whistles
galore,
with shoulds and
must haves and
quotas to mark life
left me empty and
longing for more.
in search for truth
throughout my youth
I found money and
power and fame,
I was distracted by
the lie of glitter
passing by all for
the sake of my name.
now I find myself
thinking on days of
my drinking and
years of chasing a
lie,
the cheating, the
fighting and
constant denying of
a self so consumed
by false pride.
I want to emerge
from the dark where
my hope ignites
spark and my mind is
no longer obtuse,
where the veil has
been lifted with
heart freed to love
and with mercy I
embrace my truth.
where speaking in
verses and walking
with purpose I could
shine brighter than
bobbles I hold,
under shadows of
trees with the earth
beneath my knees
where there’s
treasures for me to
behold.
I’d have no fear of
new faces and could
be in embraces
instead of the whirl
in my head,
and humbly ask
questions and wait
for the answers and
be free from the
pain that I shed.
with a new found
confidence from the
hand of providence I
could feel like I’d
finally won, a life
that is lived from
the inside out if I
could just find my
place in the sun.

Confusion

~Confusion~ The sun kisses my fresh washed cheeks It’s warming on my face The breeze rustles my just brushed hair The mist disappears, its fingers leaving a wet trace. The birds start to sing They are late it’s already past dawn The insects start to buzz On this fresh brand new morn… We are happy to awake A new day to explore New challenges we take As we exit through our door. A chance to do good or bad The choice is up to you To be happy or be sad Or spread a smile or too. The pink fingers of cloud in the east Mean red sky in the morning Will the old saying come true? Is this a shepherds warning? As the sun set in the west Only sunset just last night The red sky was at its best That should mean shepherds delight… Is it shepherds warning or is it shepherds delight? Now I am so confused, is it morning still or night? Is it going to be fine, or are storms on the way? I wish the bloody shepherds would make their minds up today.

This Time of Year

The air is fresh, mornings crisp and clear
God I do love this time of year
Vibrant colors abound on the trees
Gracefully falling with the breeze
The workday runs from sun to sun
Until the "Bringing in of the crops" is done
I am a lucky man to live this life
Respect of my community and loving wife
Sometimes in life the land yields plenty
The blessings throughout the day are many
As I watch the sunrise to the east
It gives my soul a spiritual feast
For all my friends everywhere
To my Lord a silent prayer
To the north her majesty appears
For all to see beautiful and clear
Forever snowcapped and standing tall
Lady Shasta watches over all
To the south another blessing to see
The Sutter Buttes clouded in mystery
It was the Lord that gave them their birth
The shortest mountain range on earth
The coastal mountains to the west
Offers the sun a place to rest
Followed shortly for all to see
The "Harvest Moon" clear as can be
Then comes a moment that is hard
As I head my "Cat" off to the yard
My final ride of this year
My face accepts a single tear
My heart becomes full of sorrow
I inject myself with poison tomorrow
Thats the price that a junkie must pay
Years after he has changed his way
The reason is very clear to see
I put myself "At risk" to hepatitis C
I can't stop the fear from flooding in
What will it be like to hold a rig again
Through all the loss and all the gain
I reckon that moment will bring me pain
But through the pain I'm able to see
God has his angels covering me

Unknown Truth

What if the moon was the sun
And the sun was the moon
If day was night and night changed too
If everything changed how would we be
How would we function as human beings
What if time was different and changed just out of the blue
Would we be able to sleep
What would we do
How would we escape such a catastrophe
What if we were stuck and couldn't leave
What if the devil escaped from hell
And you found out
But it was a secret you couldn't tell
What if God lost the meaning to care
And left you heartlessly dramatically scared
What if the cold turned into the hot
And the temperatures started up a plot
To come and get you and never give you what you need
When you needed warmth attack you and turn the colometer
On over freeze
What if you turned to snow and you couldn't do anything but post
What would you do if your skin turned blue
And you couldn't breathe
So you couldn't move
What if there was no heaven or hell
You just were a blank and no one could tell
There was no memory of you
It's like you were never here
You never knew either
Left with no fear to fear
It's like you were a figment of imagination
Your life was never started
There was never an orientation
Tell me what would you do
Nothing because there is no you
You stand an unknown truth

We Welcome the Sun

We welcome the sun
We welcome the sun

A gleaming sunrise is seen in the distance – shedding relief
Bursting forth like fireworks in the dark blue sky
Hues of beauty and sincerity washes away our grief
The cheery clouds come together like lovers embracing one another

I’m never waving goodbye

It’s so surreal… and magnificent to see this scene unfold
You lift up the sparkling light… you’re an angel from up above
It’s so vibrant – the illuminated sight never dulled
You bring us luck and excitement –

You’re as pleasant as a dove

We welcome the sun
We welcome the love
We welcome the sun
We welcome the sun
To omit the darkness
To abolish the distress
To conceal the darkness
And reveal the halo
Hovering around your head
Burning away the dread
We welcome the sun
We welcome the sun
We welcome the sun

An ocean of love is rubbing against my feet
Blankets of comfort embrace me now… our love will never dry
You treat us with reverence and I repeat –
You’re as pleasant as a dove – taking wing from on high
We welcome the sun in the morning
We welcome the sun with open arms
We welcome the sun
We welcome the sun
We welcome the sun
We welcome the sun

A speedy breeze is whistling in my ears
Spiraling mad like a spinning top
Spiraling mad with all of its might
You’re very intriguing – you casted away our fears
Your gorgeous eyes
Project bright green and blue
You’re special in His sight
He welcomes you
We welcome the hope
We welcome the sun
We welcome the sun
We welcome the sun
To lighten up your load
And lead you to the mercy road
Where you and I will escape to paradise
To drive out all of the negativity
To conceal the wretched farewells
To reveal the light in goodbye

We welcome the sun
We welcome the sun
We welcome you
With open arms

BIG YELLOW BALL

Oh, I went to America
My grandma to see
A big yellow ball was chasing me
On a flying machine
With a wide window
A big yellow ball wouldn't let me go

In Chengdu, China
Where I come from
There's no big yellow ball to ruin your fun
You can play outside
And feel so free
There's no big yellow ball disturbing me

Oh, At Grandma's house
We finally arrive
The big yellow ball has come alive
Without my help
All by its own
The big yellow ball has found her home

In Grandma's back yard
Down on my knees
The big yellow ball makes me sneeze
I'd like to play outside
But it's hard to see
Cause that big yellow ball is blinding me

Oh, I come inside
To get away
From the big yellow ball that's here all day
It's so clear outside
There's no place to hide
From the big yellow ball it must be a mile wide!

*Through the eyes of a five year old. Obviously, the big yellow ball is the sun. In Chengdu, China it's rarely seen through the smog. Poem inspiration came from this exact quote of the child, "I can't play in your backyard because of that big yellow ball"

Trip Twist

In the void, sipping the zoid,
with mental properties of tripping on the spiral.
Falling down the tail of lions, awkwardly spinning.
With upside down tunnel vision leaking through.

Solidifying all matter that matters,
melting into the walls of your brain.
It tickles all the raindrops dripping in your eyes,
satisfying your desire of a synchronized pattern.

Bleeding purple from the rainbow,
and turning into swirls of diamonds.
Slipping exuberantly beside you; driving you wild.
Where the shadows stop the spirited scream.

Devour yourself into the omniscient grip.
Icy cold finger tips scratch the surface of your divinity,
bringing you closer to the God who whispered in your unborn ear,
situated in your flesh from birth to death.

It embeds itself in the pupil of your eye,
dancing with your spirit and licking your soul.
Black shapes of madness wrapped in chaos and euphoria.
Twinkling and blinking dust of a cloud.

Haze filled skies and blood filled smoke raining from the clouds.
Envisions of clowns and demons laughing at our demise.
Chilling sensations of sickening mannerisms,
mechanisms and mechanics sought out to destroy the tiny creatures.

These creatures running crazy into acceptance of demise.
Deprived of life, scared of death but giving into it's taste.
Taste buds quiver as the taste grows sweeter.
Death, oh death, tell everyone who you really are...

Too long have you been hidden in the shadows you cast,
too long have we rendered your pain.
The world grows sicker as the hairs in my head grey.
I'll never surrender as demons always circle.

Today, begins a new day of our fight.
And I have a good feeling about this day.
Onward, we have united our minds and gathered ourselves within.
Always ready for we accept our fear.

We accept our hate and everything in between.
Accept it all for what it really is.
No amount of doubts will over throw us.
Onward, to peace.

The Last Seven Plagues

those who bore 'the mark'
screamed from painful ugly sores
First of the Last Plagues

the sea turned to blood
and everything in it died
Second of Last Plagues

the rivers and springs
became blood--no more water
Third of the Last Plagues

the sun had power
burning people with fire
Fourth of the Last Plagues

kingdom of 'the beast'
was plunged into vast darkness
Fifth of the Last Plagues

       STILL--people cursed God
       and they refused to--REPENT
       global armies formed

the great Euphrates'
water dried up--transit road
Sixth of the Last Plagues

       world economic
       devastation, suicides
       lootings and killings

       stench of dead bodies
       cities on fire--engulfed
       chaos, fear, riots

the sun became darkened
the moon gave no light--all dark
stars fell from the sky

huge exploding holes
in the darkness as they fell
hundreds all at once

       army of 'the beast'
       horizon to horizon
       Plain of Megiddo

clouds blanket the sky
painful peals of thunder roll
gold weaves through the clouds

hundred pound hailstones
fell on unrepentant man
cars, homes, land destroyed

most severe earthquake
islands diappeared--Earth FLAT
splits Jerusalem

then voice from Heaven
"It is done"--is heard by all
Last of the Last Plagues

       wait at Magiddo
       the Son of Man--Returns
       on white horse, in clouds

       blood runs two hundred
feet wide/long and five feet deep
       bodies explode at

       the sound of The Word
spoken from the King of Kings
       one-sided battle

anti-christ and false
prophet thrown in lake of fire
beast chained--thrown in pit...

thousand years in pit
(Jesus rules Kingdom on Earth)
then, loosed for a time

there is still HOPE
Know Jesus loves you and died
for your sins--REPENT...

CHASING A SINKING SUN

Oh.. You're chasing a sinking sun
Trying to catch it before your done
The darkness so quickly setting in
Will anyone see if you've even won

Do you hear that tick-tock
You're getting closer every day
Climbing up that mountain rock
Not letting anything get in the way
Keep racing up success' ladder
You're so focused you won't fall
No doubt you'll make it to the top
But is it the top of the right wall

Thought this life was all about you
But it'll go on when you are through
Mesmerized by life's pretty bubbles
So smart... you didn't have a clue

Do you hear that tick-tock
You're getting closer every day
Climbing up that mountain rock
Not letting anything get in the way
Keep racing up success' ladder
You're so focused you won't fall
No doubt you'll make it to the top
But is it the top of the right wall

Fools are too busy to love their family
Too blind to see time is how you care
Too arrogant to sense their need of God
Too self assured to cry out in prayer

Friend you better check your ladder
Think twice about why you're here
Redefine what you're calling success
Pray to God that he'll make it all clear

Do you hear that tick-tock
You're getting closer every day
Climbing up that mountain rock
Not letting anything get in the way
Keep racing up success' ladder
You're so focused you won't fall
No doubt you'll make it to the top
But is it the top of the right wall

Stay

She said baby I have to go,
I said girl you don't need to go,
Because baby I want you to stay,
'Til the sun rise,
'Til the end of the night,

I said baby I'm feelin you,
And I'm fallin in love with you,
Which is somethin I never thought I would do,
But, I did today,
So girl, Why don't you stay,

Chorus:2x
Why don't you stay, 4x
'Til the sun rise,
'Til the end of the night,

She said baby I have to leave,
I said girl I don't want you to leave,
My darling please stay with me,
'Til the night end,
Then come back again,

Because baby we have a chance,
For us to have a great romance,
So, girl take my hand and dance,
You don't have to go,
Baby don't go,
Chorus: 3x

'Til the sun rise,
'Til the end of the night,

No Tears

The music blasts in my ears, Blocks out all around me.

The screaming, the fighting, the crying, the dying, Some where else never here.

My mind ventures off to the land i created, where i am alone, no one to tell me I'm worth nothing, no one to tell me i do wrong, just me alone.

The sun rises the sun sets, The same routine everyday.

No escaping, No where to go, If there was any hope left, I would not sit here the way I am.

The happiness is gone, The lights have gone out.

I see the stars come closer, as the world around me slowly disappears, slowly vanishing, disinigrating, evaporating, My spirit is gone.

No one notices, no one cares, as for what i see.

How could my life be different?

I will never know.

If i stayed would things be better?

No more screams, No more tears, Everything is at peace.

Beyond The Sun

Of 2000 years ago Beyond The Sun
There once was a Prophetic Son
With a Mother of Wisdom
The Matriach of Sublime
She shows the way in time

There's a locked cage in my heart
And it's tearing me apart
Sophia you hold The Key
Why don't you open if for me

Beyond The Sun
A Dove, a Flame (Beyond The Sun)
Regina Sapientia is Here (Beyond The Sun)

Beyond The Sun
A Dove, a Flame (Beyond The Sun)
Regina Sapientia is Here (Beyond The Sun)

There's a locked cage in my heart
And it's tearing me apart
Sophia you hold The Key
Why don't you open if for me

Beyond The Sun
A Dove, a Flame (Beyond The Sun)
Regina Sapientia is Here (Beyond The Sun)

Among the trees

It started with a smile,
Running after this beautiful butterfly
And ended with a group of pile,
Burning its ashes in the sky.
The gravitational force of the forest,
Was like the utter submission of the soul
Giving your whole days racing after the harpist,
And forgetting all about the black hole.
The stroll was full of glee:
Harpists, butterflies and no plea.
Unexpectedly, being blinded caused disorientation
Finding yourself lost among the trees,
And your heart just full of hesitation
You came to a dead end where you flee.
Days passed like lingering years,
And you didn't have a single weapon not even spears.
It is time when you implored the Sun;
To show its light even if beneath the glum
It is time when you pleaded the moon;
To never let the dark cause any doom.
A flaw realized after the agony..
But it was said that it wasn't a tragedy.
They were just some injuries;
To teach you that life is full of miseries.
Never reproach yourself
Some trees appeared in your way
To show you that you are more than an elf.

Africa III

Heart pounding
Nervous feeling
Overwhelming
Deep breath to shake it
Cold chill slivers down fast

Beating against cage of heart
Cage of body
Cage of soul
Legs begging to run
Heart aching to be free
Truth to self
aching to be seen

Sweet scent of dry savannah plains
Sharp smell of thorny veins
The aroma of Africa surrounds
Scents sights sounds
In these home is found

Frustration mounts
Captured leopard
Bound

Snarling at every motion made
Scared but defiant
Blinded by fear and rage

Paws long for endless journeys
On paths walked centuries ago
For elegance in element
A space all her own
Where earth still bleeds red on horizon
Morning and night
Continuing the endless fight

Fight for borderless freedom
Everlasting sight
The pale yellow green eyes
Dismays the truth inside
But tell the story
Of wild soul
Story to unfold

Night Write

Why this time?
Why this time of night?
That all I have to say,
Becomes easy to write?

When all throughout the morning,
And the sun's displays' of light,
And all throughout the evening,
I cannot seem to write.

But care I will not,
As long as they're free,
The thoughts that were there,
On here they shall be.

And up all night,
If I shall need to stay,
Until the sun is bright,
I'll write them away.

But when does it stop?
When does the flow end?
When the new day is brought?
When the sun shines again?

It scares me to think,
That age is the same
That one day my ink,
Will run out and remain.

away with the sun

Its getting late
but you already came
and while you were here
things never change
you lay with me
and tell me your words
then you leave
and I feel hurt.
Its not you that hurts me
but the sound of the door
closing behind you
I know for sure
you'd like to stay
but you never do
I'm left alone
missing you.
These days its more frequent
you leave so much
that you're gone more hours
than the day brings sun
and I have begun
to feel so numb
when the door closes
another night I run
far away from the thoughts I have
because its killing me to look
at my empty hands
I remember when we were on the sand
you told me you loved me
but you weren't my man
and so I walked, feeling okay
but too many months
now I want you to stay
Am I selfish?
asking too much?
You only visit me an hour
after dusk
and I must go on
but should I stay?
when you see me sometimes
but its always too late.

The Well of Dreams

Black foggy darkness swallowing me whole
enveloping me in madness I can't seem to control
dripping smoothly down my throat it stings
horrible grotesque aftertaste it brings
clamping tighter can't breathe, lungs burst
grasping the lasting soul dream to quench my thirst
plunging head first I tear through asunder
crashing off these empty walls like sharp lighting and thunder
light breaks, a dawn thrust forth and born again
Ascending I break the surface towards the sky
a blue and white rhapsody of ribbons floating by
sparkling droplets shimmer in my eyes
i awaken, my dream has ended.

Unspoken love

Under layers of sheets against the biting coldness of early mist
in between soft, cuddly comfort of my pillows
and an unseen blanket of warmth all over me

An unnamed waves suddenly washed me
and swept me to the unknown abyss of darkness
unknown abyss of lost hopes, dreams and wishes.

My hands are flailing, searching for something to hold on to
hoping for never-ending hope that I will be swept back ashore
for I'm losing, drowning and on the verge of giving up soon.. anytime!

Like any other dreams that I dream't before
Is it worth dreaming for? Or should I wait a little more?
Would it be a dream come true someday? anytime?

I heard a thumping, so loud it brought me back to where I ended up last night
cushioned in the familiar scent of my bed, I'm awake now;
deaf in my own heartbeat, waiting for the sun to cast his light, soon, anytime!

Mind racing in a speed of light, in a morning Sunday rush!
whilst heart is taking it's pace in a leisure Sunday morning walk
distance covered, places conquered, end of the line will be reached anytime soon.

And from where the sun rises, a secret wish was blown into a kiss
all the way up, up against the course of hands of time
may the faith favor the odds and let that wish be granted... anytime soon!

Shining Sun

new song/poem! :) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I look outside my window Watch the rain fall down like tears Hoping that someday It’ll wash away my fears But they never clear They never go away And they haunt me every single minute Of every single day Maybe someday This will all just turn to dust I’ll just do what I need— Just do what I must… Without you Without you Here Find it in your heart To have a little care Find it in your heart To know that I am there Find it in your heart I know you think I’m strange But find it in your heart To believe that I can change With you With you Here I write this down in sadness Wishing you can see Knowing that none of it Makes sense to you or me And there’s nothing here There’s nothing I can say To make the clouds depart And the icky mood to fade I hope that someday When I am old and gray I’ll just laugh a sigh and wonder: What the hell was wrong with me? Find it in your heart To see me through the pane Find it in your heart To unchain me from this chain Find me in your heart I know that I am young But find it in your heart To make me someone Forever— And ever Your shining sun

Another day

Another day, the sun rises
Life lived in bland monotony
I find at best I am complacent
existing on the borderline of contentment

It's rarely found to be of favor
but everyday you'll find me here
Waiting patiently for another chance
to leave my mark on so dull a world

Maybe today will be the day
that this bleak existence I suffer
Finally gives way to a new spark
and I find excitement has been born

I wish only to have a moment
A brief passing of time
Let me live my fifteen minutes
dancing quietly in the spotlight

Another day, the sun sets
I look out my window
With a sigh I find my bed
Another day passed,
Another day wasted.

The Prison of Night

At night i weep,
in silence i grieve,
how can i sleep?
when it is hard to breath,

During the day i laugh,
with friends i converse,
but the day wont last with the turning of earth,

with dark skies comes heartache,
as the stars flicker and blaze,
there only so much i can take,
of these suffocating days,

when the day starts anew,
and the sun brings the morning light,
i momentarily forget about you,
until the return of night,

when i see the midnight moon,
and feel the stars in the sky,
i close my eyes in this room,
and pray i make it by,

for when the sun is shinning high,
and the heat consumes my fright,
i cant help but wonder why
i must suffer the prison of night

Cruel Reality

Cruel Reality, watching so closely,
like a motionless tiger, lying in wait.

We were so safe in our Dream bubble,
so unaware of the cold world outside.

The sun shone so brightly upon the green field,
and together we danced, laughingly, carefree.

But jealous Reality, clothed in red dress,
gazed at our joy, and then gleefully screamed,

"I'll take your bright sun and replace it with rain;
your green grassy field will become a gray swamp.
Every sweet word that you both have spoken
shall now melt away, leaving nothing behind."

So the walls of our love were quickly torn down,
and Reality quickly swept us apart.

STARE DOWN CONTEST WITH THE SUN

I won a stare down contest with the Sun
Or at least I'm pretty sure that I did
Cause everything is completely dark
I guess the Sun has closed it's eyelid

The Sun must truly be a sorry loser
Now it refuses to even sneak a peek
I walk around like I'm completely blind
Darkness gets real old after a week

So I kindly offered the Sun a rematch
In the black I heard it laughing at me
Said, you should never stare at the Sun
And never again are you going to see

Shadows Stretch and Shrink...

splintered moons are always moving over my night skies
and shooting stars always are greeted with a surprise
sunsets, in autumn, always fall with the leaves that let go
and someday you will eventually know
that everything happens for an unknown reason

shadows stretch as each night dims to a darker gray
and stars wink in a direction that's a thousand years away
as clouds move through and cry frozen tears of snow
and someday you will eventually know
that love also has a calendar of changing seasons

each day the night betrays the sun at a different time
and the stars twinkle their lights to a rhythmless chime
but in the darkest days of winter there's no sun left to glow
and someday you will eventually know
that all cycles seem to have an act of treason

The Setting Sun

THE SETTING SUN

I LOOK OUT OVER THE HORIZON AT WHAT HAS PAST
THE SHADOWS CAST UPON MY LIFE
AND THE LIGHT OF THE SUN THAT I NO LONGER SEE
I ONCE FELT ITS WARMTH, ONCE FELT NO SHROUD
COULD BLOCK ITS RAYS
NOW AS I ENTER A NEW STAGE IN MY LIFE, THE DUSK
AND NOT THE DAWN WILL GUIDE ME
WEARY OF THE WORLD, OF THE HECTIC PACE OF LIFE
I’M FORCED TO KEEP
THE ENERGY OF YOUTH HAS FADED AND THE UPHILL CLIMB
IS FAR TOO STEEP
A VICTIM OF THE CHAOS, EVERY DAY HAS PLACED
UPON ME
A VICTIM OF THE BELIEF THAT THERE IS NO TOMORROW
WAITING BEYOND TODAY
I AWAKE EACH DAY NOT WANTING THE NIGHT TO END
I LAY DOWN TO SLEEP EACH DAY NOT WANTING THE NIGHT TO BEGIN
NOT NEAR ENOUGH TO THE START YET TO FAR FROM THE FINISH
SOMEWHERE, HERE IN THE MIDDLE OF MY LIFE
PURPOSE IS THE FORGOTTEN CAUSE
I LACK THE SLEEP TO REST IN PEACE, LACK THE PEACE
TO SLEEP AT REST
UNABLE TO BEGIN AGAIN AND SOMEHOW UNABLE TO CHANGE
CAUGHT IN THIS STATE, VOID OF ALL UNDERSTANDING
UNABLE TO SEE BEYOND THE DARKNESS
THAT SEEMS TO HAVE FALLEN AGAIN
WITH THE SETTING OF THE SUN…

To Bask In The Sun

How do u bask in the sunshine when all you see is rain. Feeling every drop as it falls on your skin and when It touches... it's pain!!! Leaving a constant ache and permanent stain. While the words of GOD rang through my head "Be grateful and don't complain".. Which sometimes feels impossible when there's no light and the rain just won't refrain.. Meanwhile standing one drop away from going insane... Desperately in need of that light which keeps me maintained... But if only I could see the sunshine through the rain.

Sun Bleats

That which would make me a cog in the machine ,
dragoon me into a lethal automaton
be left in the walls of sleep.

As the sun bleats in fear of crowds &
the sparrows call w-/in a ring of fire.
Let the world spin on thru space's
quagmire sinking ships in the velvet ink
on the writer's hand. Or let the
chase end w-/ hands holding crystal ducks &
chunks of lung, held by the prism of
	your stare.

To dance swirling down the drain
as another matter for the brain to tick
as a clock tocks out seven days to review
& recall all infected packets of nurofen.

Prescribing Anti-psychotics for a mild case
of the flu while the fever dreams strike
drowning in clay & blank doll faces.

As my daughter will drink only the finest wine
& my son will make all the other children cry
w-/ the malice of his fingers.

In the first flash of a passionate love
affair , feather light, beating as two hearts
revolve round the moon lit stage.

What happens when the moon falls in love with the sun

I see him across the
orbit,
Creating time in
mesmerizing circles,
Always so far from
me
Always so near.

We dance.

A lonely dance—
A tormenting dance,
Where we can never
touch
Nor; ever be apart.

The universe gave us
this gift,
Intertwining our
souls for an
eternity.
The universe gave us
this curse,
Extending the
longing over
lifetimes.

He pulls and I
follow.
He spins, and I
become dizzy—
Confused by his
nonchalance.

If he loves me, why
are we not closer?
If he doesn’t, why
is he still here?

Still, I follow…
My cold facade
revolving around his
light,
Hiding from the
universe,
A solemn expression
dug deep in my
surface.

He says we are
alike,
But I know enough to
know that it’s our
differences that
make us colorful.

His anger fuels,
It’s become a
self-sustaining
energy,
And I cringe
thinking of his rage
in the future,
Who will his words
hurt in the future?

He burns,
And I die.
Empty and lifeless.
Just let me die,
And free me from
this course.

He doesn’t know what
love is.

How To Gain From Our Pain

The sun rises and the sun sets
a new day comes, yesterday forgets
a loving kiss and warm embrace
two souls joined, face to face

Time passes, feelings change
no longer exits, this warm exchange
further on, and still growing more apart
forgetting all that love, they had from the start

Now although they consider to divorce
thoughts of their children cause them remorse
so they make decisions attempting to find a way
to limit any pain, that their children will be okay

Despite their good intentions, they think they know
but only their children feel the pain that will flow
that day finally arrives, the one you were told
it could never happen, it would never unfold

The stark and painful reality, some adults never see
they give up too easily, and for what, just to let egos be
if they only had the wisdom to open their hearts and be free
to learn this meaning called compromise, and make their love agree

Yes, my friend, you're thinking how you relate to the words of this poem
deep down your know you too are a survivor, and that time has shown
you grew up with that pain, asking yourself what purpose was it all for
the answer is clear, do not let it happen to your own as it did to you before

Eyes of the Forlorn

The Sun dawns and the Day is born
Its light shed on the souls forlorn

The clouds part and thunder desists
As they march on, lost in the mists

Step by step to the end of time
In perfect rhythm; perfect line

The sun sets and darkness becomes them –
A dead calm smothers the bedlam

Torments of night encompass all
With burning mem’ries of the Fall

A rain of stars breaks through the skies
Reflected in their frigid eyes –

Trembling fingers, shimmering tears
Quiet whispers and haunting fears

The sun dawns and a day is born
Gazed upon by hollow eyes Forlorn
