We Will Never Know

The sky was orange, red and peach
we strolled towards each other
on a deserted pebbled beach
a smile that got us talking
together slowly walking
till twilight crept unseen
then off reluctantly
on a deserted pebbled beach
we went our separate ways
but first a promise made
next day to meet in the same place.

The sky now yellow, mauve and blue
I stroll alone by water's edge
on a deserted pebbled beach
searching for a voice
a smile just out of reach
your presence unseen
where the surf briefly meets
the shore, only to recede
two souls forever out of reach
on a deserted pebbled beach
where a promise was made
and would break along the waves

was love not meant to grow?
we will never know....

A Walk on the Beach

Morning breaks in cheerful warm brilliance,
pale sapphire sky pristine.
Grey-white gulls glide vociferously above
in search of firma bound fare.
Reflections of Sol’s arms vault from the sea,
smooth but for zephyr stroked folds;
pure, sugar white sand kissed softly
by persistent waves subtle roll.
Soft ghosts of tepid breeze course random,
sensually caressing what be;
long thin-bladed grasses sway lightly
in synchrony and shameless delight.

With bonnet in hand an aged woman strolls
beside the vast Gulf of blue;
damp, firm sand squeaks soothingly
against the soles of her tired bare feet.
Her large eyes of brown focus ahead,
bear no witness to her days and shine;
fine flowing hair of luminous white
draped over shoulders so slight.
A pause, though brief, in quiet reflection,
her gaze upon the distant view
and mind in stoic reminiscence
of past friends and loves and wonder.

His strong arms hold her close tightly,
warmth of body and soul unite,
while gaiety in unbound laughter
disclose love once again renewed.
A tender brush of hand upon cheek
raises fiery passion in both,
as excited young eyes meet in ardor
essence link in eternal embrace.
One warm briny tear born of these thoughts
streams slowly down her cheek,
she slowly walks on as sand squeaks soothingly
against the soles of her tired bare feet.

The Purge

oh, sweet old vine that calms me down at the safe port in the warm sea
let me drink youth and hopes from the same bottle that the fishes swim
the hot sun burns my skin and dries my throat
but i dream about what the green lawns will bring me
as soon as I get out of this boat

red roses symbolizes the blood in the pacific waters
sharks are fighting swordfishes and shoals are frightened for their sons and daughters
the only thing that reminds the ocean to clean up all the stains and remains
it’s the expectation for the new battles that the great ships wage with the leviathans inside the captain’s veins

tell him that it’s to late now
cause the mermaid seeks passion from another sailor’s vow
poor man longing in the sea
his kids and wife can’t remember the sound of his arriving
with his footsteps filled with sand flea

Daybreak

I wake on the sand
Right near the beach
You have yet to awake
Far out of reach
And Daybreak has arrived
A beauty unlike any other
Comparable only to us, girl
And how we love each other

So I gaze up alone
Marveling up at the sky
The warmth of the sun
Drying my eyes
I'm reflecting on us
Oh how each other we trust
I'm just so happy we're together
And I think to myself,
Just as this sun, we'll last forever

Then returning to be with you
I lay again now
Place my hand gently
On your warm tender shoulder
While I think of our lives today, love
And how they'll be when we're older...
I know there'd be no other way
So "I Love You" I make sure I say
To you, each and everyday

Words of SILENCE On the Beach

A footstep so smooth;
A word so candid, yet strong:
A mind, so full of empathy,
came straight up to my heart:
Knock, knock, knock, are we there?
Or, are we still strangers?

The long pile of stories of life,
Unfolded, into your lap, with tears —
Some horrid, some slimy, but all true.
Solutions and steps were put forth:
Knock, knock, knock, are we there?
Or, are we still strangers?

Moments of silence, in tears,
Emotions riding high,
Darkness so deep, fathomless;
Keyboard, whispers, brought hope.
Life sprouts, naturally,
With light, and manure — right,
Springing from words of wisdom:
Knock, knock, knock, are we there?
Or, are we still strangers?

A ray of light sprouted, as did life,
From within me; and my words
Grew wings of fire, and sprung
Right onto paper, as poems and news.
Alas, the thrill lasted not long —
Black venom of the fire of Satan
Swirled around me, eating me up:
Knock, knock, knock, are we there?
Or, are we still strangers?

The silence, construed as disregard,
The lag and the arguments;
Words of war, and then — SILENCE.
Search, search, search…
Life went off action;
No sound, no light, no life.
SILENCE, SILENCE, SILENCE.
Knock, knock, knock, are we there?
Or, are we — after all — strangers?

Moon O'er Normandy Beach

An eerie calm settled o'er Normandy Beach that solemn summer's night.
The debris of battle was strewn 'neath the full moon's silvered light.
The tide cleansed the beach of the blood of men who were in the fore;
Brave men who'd faced the hell of war on that ravaged Norman shore!

Those who gave their all, lay awaiting removal from that embattled strand.
With lifeless eyes and boots pointed t'ward the stars, they slept upon the sand.
Fathers, brothers, sons and husbands slain during the conflict's ebb and flow,
By the inexorable Scythe of Death in the battles of Pointe du Hoc and St. Lo!

What might these heroes have become if fate had not dealt them so?
A teacher, farmer, doctor, a minister? Alas, we shall never know!
They left farm, shop, school and hearth to cross the billowing sea,
And forfeited life on the Altar of Honor that others might live free!

The moonlight revealed treasured items strewn about on the ravaged beach.
Final letters to loved ones lay fluttering in the breeze, now beyond their reach.
There were wallets with photos of wives and children who are left to grieve.
Only the memory of his close embrace will their empty hearts now ever cleave!

Toothbrushes, razors, bloody shoes and socks were gathered by grieving mates,
As they tenderly cared for fallen brothers who've gained the Pearly Gates.
The moon glowed brightly that night o'er Normandy Beach as it paused on high,
To caress the cheeks of brave men as it passed on its eternal bourne in the sky!

A Blue Boy's Death Wish

A fragile mind breaks
Wake upon the rock laden shores
A muffled heart begs to echo
Whispers lost among a velvet chamber

Dusk comes premature time and again
Dropping the curtain on an optimistic sunrise
If you never witness dawn
There is no tomorrow

Always the dreamer aches
Never awake to make real what he desires
The restless corpse walks blind
Dead ends seem fitting for one of the kind

Lost in the labyrinth of strangling vines
Love is the motive and the weapon
Taking root in throats dry from weeping
Sprouts of amnesia in place of smiles
A garden called heartbreak holds onlookers captive
The comfort takes hold, sets in the bones weary of searching
A plea for rest lands on deaf ears

The hollow boy tires of himself
The last request he will ever make
"End me"
Lost and tired
He wishes to be weak no more

Chaos

tainted smile
mishaping your identity
as you carry on
day by day
with a masking smile-
unprententious
real
without a reason to feel down.
All confidence stripped,
while the waves crash at shore
and the untrimmed grass still growing-
to remind you that life goes on.
Time is still-
frozen
you endure everyday with a level head
afraid not what of was
but afraid what will become-
become of you
become of all else
it's THAT fear that grasps your arm.
Clenching so tight that the nails puncture through your skin
a painful setback
only one you feel yourself.
Seagulls drop clams,
they fall helplessly onto the rocks
and their beaks scoop them up
after they're broken, empty
fallen apart-
a mirror image of your own life
your own dignity
your own strength
it's only too late before you capture reality-
a grip too tight on a slippery surface
you wait
anticipating serenity
that place where the teal ocean ripples onto the shore
instead of the crashing white caps that drown the neighbours child-
where sharks are tame
and time is suspended
an oasis
far away
to a place you long for
to hide away-
where all questions are answered
and fears are conquered
a heaven on earth

or so to say

Sad Sightings

today i saw what i feel what was real was not real neither was the idea. Brains shot down in the street like dogs because the veil is still worn on the face. No man know the time when it will all be real. You ever heard of people praying for worse days. As i sit in my maze wondering where the last step took the next, i begin to see that there is epoh some call it hope i see it as something else. i see it just like you saw that ferrari in your drive ways a few minutes ago. time flies so what does the past do? the future must not be too far from the present. As the leaves fall from the tree, i sit and wonder if it will ever grow back. now that i feel that im being watched, its time to return the stolen goods. people say take things to the grave, other leave it above. when i die all i need to do is just hold on because i know shortly i will be home. As you read the spaces between my words remember to fill up before you run out of gas in the worst place you dont wanna be with the night.....

ONE DAY ON HOLLYWOOD BEACH

     ONE DAY ON HOLLYWOOD BEACH
My destination's inner space.
Erasing things not meant to chase.
I'm holding dreams of you, but then,
when I must die, I'll live again.

You were the bait. Your daddy laughed.
Six hundred smiles and I was trapped.
Your photographs got tired of me,
but I still love each one I see.

There was a day I couldn't swim.
I drowned a while, my hope was slim.
At football games as I recall
I drowned one day in early Fall.

My tears are hidden in the sea,
mistakes I made were constantly.
Not being more than how I seem,
The day I died it killed a dream.

I've loved you on the beach down here,
It's Hollywood, in Floridear.
From Canada come all the lame
To live part of my sunshine game.

As seagulls dipped, I saw a girl
her name I cannot breath nor slur,
an rv killed her in her head,
she looks out windows like she's dead.

Now I must cry for her again,
And then I'll cry for you, my friend.
if life has anything to lose,
I'll lose it twice, so what's the use?

boungiorno

hello! hey! boungiorno! what is the date?/
this world of dimensions created duality/
no letters/ no words/ are enough to express/
someone like you/ in reality/

i filled all your emptines/ MY still quiet bay/
as Jhon opened world in his Yoko/
you searched perfect princes/ looked for "right him"/
now at only one overman looking/

i swear/ i will hold you/ as much as i can/
would become all the axes/ and outer space/
voice is speared by the screaming wind/
falling down/ flakes to your place/

going crazy just seeing your knees/
don't regret anything/ my Benito/
unbelievable/ perfect/ unbearable/
you whisper/ "la comedia e finita"//

Port of Call

Port of Call

Barefoot on a talcum beach,

alone, not lonely,

with the breath of the ocean a caressing balm,
soothing pained memories away,
to the swaying of a solitary palm.

Barefoot on a talcum beach,

alone, not lonely,

feeling the brushing away of all past turmoil,
on a quest for solace, ever so hard to find,
yet comforted by the crashing of the waves,
as the tide cleanses all pain,
and leaves despair far, far behind.

Barefoot on a talcum beach,

alone, not lonely,

drenched in a sea-breeze of mist,
that hushes the ache of bygone moons,
tasting the salty tang on my lips,
as the burnished sun,
over the distant horizon,
swoons,

and dips.

Barefoot on a talcum beach,

alone, not lonely,

searching, ever searching,
for a slice of solitude,
as memory bids a final adieu,
reaching under the sea so vast,
and seeking comfort in the depths,
while embracing,
the tomorrows to come,
wishing that they be true.

Barefoot on a talcum beach,

alone, not lonely,

seeing my truths drown,
as they slip beneath the turquoise waters,

feeling my heart ablaze,
with a passion that rarely falters.

Barefoot on a talcum beach,

alone, not lonely,

yet knowing that I am home at long last,
wishing the waves would wash away,
the defences that once stood,
like an impregnable wall.

Barefoot on a talcum beach,

alone, not lonely,

I have found, at long last,

my final port of call.

Living Near Death

If I died right now who would know
Lingering slowly
Slowly I would fade
Blackness consumes my conscious
Sad everyday
Lonely feels cold
Unreasonably cold and dark
To feel another breath would create a story
If you could be mine
I would build a sandcastle with you
And live forever in it

Big deal of wind and life

The wind is blowing, trees are bent.
It's time. I have to be out there!
Really need a board for rent
Else it's gonna be a nightmare.

For me and others beside me.
To listen to me complaining,
Observe me drooling at the sea,
Where windsurfers are now planning.

Oh how I hate and envy those
Who have a board now and a sail.
I watch attentively, I froze.
A sailor jibing on a rail.

What fascinates me in such sports?
Touch of nature? Wind in face?
Being on the water in shorts?
Adrenaline? The rush? The race?

I used to be obsessed with it.
Quit my job and fled to dessert.
Year past and it was time to rid
This lifestyle, it's a pure hazard!

Before it used to be hobby.
Romanced by palm trees and the sea.
Found self respect. In the lobby
We meet. Great sailing! You and me.

While in bed called out for harness.
You made big deal of wind and life.
I'll see ya. You fought the sadness.
With no wish asked me to be wife.

Turns out you never met the bar.
I'd rig up, grab kit, disappear.
You didn't wait on land. Too far.
Our paths diverged oh so clearly.

Despite laughs, closeness and great sex.
I'm young. Mistook it for real kick.
Depended on you, O'neill and Mexx.
You left me. That shit made me sick.

Never thought that I deserved it
But you surely wiped your hands clean.
Fell apart, screamed, could't handle it.
There was nothing of me left. Sin.

Never apologized for mess.
Wondered how was it? It bothered?
Moved on, settled for something less.
Partied, drank and found another.

You found a girl in two months time.
News just sliced me up in pieces.
Seems like yesterday you were mine.
It's ten years past. Have two nieces.

Did I forgive you? Do you care?
Wish I did. You caused me sorrow.
We never spoke again. Don't dare!
You vanished while I was hollow...

Girl On The Beach

My heart broke for the girl on the beach.
For her innocent repose in the hammock,
For her smiling, dreaming eyes,
For her gentle curves and sweet lips,
For the enthusiasm of her travel,
For the vivacity of her youth,
For her fragile, beauteous soul,
For her bare toes upon the silver sand
For her ankles dipped in the crystal sea.
For her violation and untimely death,
For the pain of her parents,
For the anguish of her travelling companion,
For their dumbfounded devastation,
For pointless, mindless tragedy
For a world that breeds monsters
For her encounter with monsters,
For monsters who destroy life and beauty,
For those who suck the good from this life,
For my own daughter and imagining how I would feel,
For the inconceivable heartache, decimation,
For the sheer pulverising horror,
For myself and my incapacity to help her, or those close to her,
Or say anything that really matters except
My heart broke for the girl on the beach.

Beach Notes

Sand erodes beneath my feet
as the waves again retreat
seaweed and dead jellyfish
are left upon the beach

I think of you this moment
the memory stings and bites
didn’t mean to hurt you
forgive me
I would try to make it right

I heard you in my head
when you did not say goodbye
all those hurtful words
I heard in no reply

The endless ocean rolls and breaks
upon this empty stretch of sand
As I turn to leave, I didn’t hear you say
come here and take my hand
