BACK TO ORIGIN

People are commonly different
Symbol of diversity piece
Pure race doesn’t exists

Color and creed are just an identity
Believe only in human history
God sculptured them from clay

People are equally created
Having many opposites
But respecting others taste

When everyone is treated equal
Nothing appears but peace in hand
Discrimination, disunity and, suffering won’t be born anymore

Two Old Friends

Dusty roads and fresh grass
summertime rodeos approaching fast
riding with a friend down on sandbars

A piece of hay hanging out of his mouth
though some trapped water, out the other side
I had forgotten this wonderful life

I still see some twenty year old boy helping me up
now a sixty year old man rides in front
pointing all the changes in the last five years

I could not believe what time I lost
4 am to a cowboy is not early enough
my pants soaking wet my boots fixed

We rode on down to his dads favorite spot
to meet God when the sun comes up
we turned to face it and did not say a word

God's spirit was the only thing we heard
as earth to air, and water to fire, met in the sky
right there two old friends prayed to God

Golden Locks

Golden Locks

within the minute of retreat your back is tuned to your enemy's chorus
harmonic to your freedom, measured by compassion, anxiously seeking their humanity
thought ascending from stars see's an ounce of mercy surrounded in darkness
a defeated purpose which drove them to the heavens
those who have reserved hope find some place to accept the truth
a test of how far our courage outlast the chaos from all life's passed
mystery's enlightened path never reached the end of suffering
to the likeness of a fumbled method
we could now follow like the atoms of Eve
disconcerted absence to our entrophic eyes
spreading legs like artificial soul
momentarily creators of their own excitement
movement supported by those who think your great
everybody who realizes the dream
shape your reflection and let the background find it's own feet
Apparent peace soon merged with equality
freedom's lark rests on the soles of a war monger's foot
peace showed up in a fresh pair of socks
the talking corps relates a message conspired by his earthy tones
sighting the great spoils and burnt offers of a desired sin
while designs of old are searched for something missing
past events re-invented an old tool of the government this ambiguous wireless chip
lets us say all of thing they can tax and the rest we make it our garden patch

That Slow Green Burn

Fire at the edge of the world.
Eyes deep within the shoreless forest sea,
Witnesses of the most ancient ways
Watch smoke rising from the approaching front
Of treeless, naked land
Stripped bare by blind ambition,
Quietly await the end.

Five thousand acres a day
The last great garden drifts into the skies
To join the circling storms that once nourished it.

The fires lick and crawl their way
Into its green heart.

Fire is eating the soul of the world
Reducing the face of its childhood to ash;
- Behold here the sorrow of Eden's last relic
Becoming the charnel-house of Creation.

Our Trusting Landlord

This earth
Oh what a curious thing to perceive
Existing within its home, the Universe
A unique, rare and aqueous marble
With a lifespan well surpassing our own
We call it our home, but it is only for rent
Things will begin to change
Humanity will try resist
We are in a system that has long been set in motion
A plan that we cannot stop
Green
What a faction of false hope
A color stained in negativity
Greed, Money, Power, Politics
Oh what a sly plan
A thorn stabbed in the lions paw
Our advantage taken against an orb in suffering
This trusting earth
Telling a secret
Our society
Screaming it to the world

The Color Missing

The Color Missing
Red, black, and blue are the colors of our work pens. Red is the color of the blood we spill on other people’s mistakes. Blue is the color of the songs we sing on tax forms or pay stubs- every page has a secret melody. Black is the color of the streets we fear most. Black is the color of our signature of approval. Black is the color of our death.

‘But what about the Green pens?’ I ask. They say ‘the ink is too hard to see.’

Living the Dream

My nightmare is so tangible...so vividly I dream,
The dream, it feels so true to me...reality it seems.

Exhaust and smoke are all I breathe...the air is full of smog...
The job I do is thankless toil, but I work it like a dog.

There's mercury in the fish I eat...there're toxins in my food...
And drugs, they are a constant scourge...myriads for every mood.

Bipolar is my government...a house divided 'tis...
And corporations drive both sides...in the pockets of "Big Biz".

The icecaps, they are melting...the sea is rising, too.
Pandas, condors, polar bears -- empty cages at the zoo.

My money ne'er seems quite enough...I'm always out of cash...
My freedom fled when I wed my bride...(live I under the lash).

"Entertainment"? Reality TV...maybe some vampire shows...
Or idjits becoming household names for being beachfront "ho's".

People clamor "climate change" from the seats of S.U.V.'s,
And bitter news on the honey front...what's killing all the bees?

Politicians spending more...we go deeper in the red.
Opinions dressed as "news" abound...is journalism dead?

Cell phones are ubiquitous...conversation's endangered now...
And "Kardashians" are famous girls..but who knows why or how?

How strange my twisted psyche is t'make real what must be fake...
Now'f only I could find some way to get myself to wake.

Pledge Of Allegiance, Revisited

I Pledge Allegiance
a solemn vow of obedience, from the earliest age of grievance,
when found deliverance, one people, united against tyranny and intolerance,
become the model of democracy and toleration

To The Flag
the symbol of once colonization come together in celebration,
a new unconquerable nation, a successful castration,
of oppression and dictation

Of The United States Of America
a conglomeration of peoples form one nation,
13 colonies a single relation, one voice, one oration,
tread on me, expect retaliation

And To The Republic
a democracy, its creation, the Constitution, its foundation,
agreeable to all in origination, fiercely guarded against demolition,
militarization, and impregnation, over all these years, still on station

For Which It Stands
the protector of all oppressed lands, the world over she lends a hand,
her signature, her blood, in foreign sand

One Nation
from sea to sea, whether rich or poor, some vocal, others, chose to ignore,
those who guard the shore, those who knock on heavens door,
one nation, esprit de corps

Under God
in a time when belief was strong, today, should not be wrong,
having been with us so very long, a few may sing a different song,
most will believe, as they have, all along

Indivisible
one, as a whole number, cannot be divided by any other,
many have tried under guise of brother, only to be denied by the mother

With Liberty And Justice For All
the means to end all oppression, infinitely wrong with transgression,
succession, regression, and repression along

Our Pledge of Allegiance
a pledge of a nation, a history profound, one indivisible number,
all it takes, to be no longer allowed

From The National Poet Of Slovenia In A Language People Understand - THE RUINS OF THE ANCIEN REGIME

Farewell, then, AUKN boss,
The next this year makes three.
By the time they find a substitute,
Slovenes will be at sea.

He tried to cover his behind;
AUKN boss of bosses,
As every week, balances grew bleak:
He weighed merits and losses.

With all this he'd no time to eat,
And round and round he flew.
And now he's split in a hissy-fit;
So helmsman, too-de-loo!

Day after day, day after day,
He drifted on the ocean;
Guano-vernment rained on his ship
Their suggestions for promotion.

Cousins, cousins, everywhere,
Corporate boards crosslink;
Cousins, cousins, everywhere,
Let's take you for a drink.

Accountants talking rot: O Christ!
Missions, visions - oh please!
Yea, slimy characters need legs
And slimy policies.

So has he done an hellish thing?
Not hired who? We dunno:
Was it absurd, to have a separate curd
From the whey Slovenia owes?
This wretch won't play, after 60 days;
Pissflaps, he'll have to go!

God help ya, gospod Bencina
From the fiends, that plague us thus! -
It's time to go — shot like cross-bow,
The AUKN boss.

Ah! walk-out day! what evil looks
Had I from Ernst and Young!
Who's at a loss? AUKN's boss
Wouldn't take a bung?

"You'll be" quoth one, "abolished - no
Stigma to double-cross."
He chose to go - why? We don't know:
Harmless AUKN boss.

Re-reading the original gave me a great idea for dinner until I realised all the storks have all flapped off to Africa for the winter. Pity, as I have some ancient marinade from Tuš. Like the subject of the poem, I didn't have the stamina for a Coleridge-length effort.

Arise

Arise, you song birds sing in morning dew;
The flow’ry host to colour fields and furrows,
And sap of Spring runs gold in willows veins;
As tender leaves unfold to speak of birth,
Fresh mountain ranges iced give life anew—
While waters melt and stream through cricks and borrows
The gleams of light will melt the winter strains
Though spills of oil have quenched the songs of earth.
The corporate sting of greedful revenue,
Has bankrupt natural wonders—greedy farrows
The eagle has no pow’r to save her eggs,
Tall forests fall and crush the robin’s hue
When flow’ry petals change to black on yellow—
The spotted fawns arise with warbled legs

The only planet of choice

Nowadays, when I look at sunset I feel as it is the last one...
We have a big problem!
All of us on the Earth must ask ourselves what we have done to our beautiful and unique Earth.
Because of our shameless egoism we have forgotten how to live with the nature and how to thank God for living on the Earth.
Why is it so hard living simple life instead what we are doing now; we have complicated everything!
Our planet is called "The only planet of choice" and what have we chosen!?
We have chosen our self destruction because the only thing we destroy is human existence.
The Earth will be existing in the future after punishing human race for being and acting like gods.
The new circle will begin and the new kind of life will substitute stupid humans.
Our final destiny will be "lost in the universe without home".
But all this should not be happen if we change ourselves.
We must love the Earth, our beautiful home because it is our promised land, our paradise.

A Legend to Recall

Wagari Maathai,
Boldness,eagerness,harmless
Was for a benefit,
Through melancholy,
You paved in,
To nail down the,
Green glamor.

You turned into waterworks,
When the cut down
Was on process.
Jubilant than ever
when germination flourished.

Likes tots
You looked after,
To see none but their growth,
The nourishment you fought for,
Regardless of the circumstances.

Down to your end,
Still showed your solicitude
that the woes came directly from your heart.
Weeps, for our well being,
wails, to ensure we received raindrops.
Confidently you battled,
To ensure no dry day approached.

Your deeds reached accross generation,
A total mother of nature,
A legend never to be forgotten.
We will live to remember
Your wonderful work.ag

An Acrostic "Slap of the Glove".......

Goodness knows the greed involved
Unwilling to admit, unable to proceed
Life on this fragile rock totters
For we have never fouled the nest like this

Oceanic trauma, on a voyage, east then north
Ice, blue-clean, beauty, dead before the march of black gold
Listing heavily to one side, we're taking on what used to be only water

Smug arrogance put us here
Plans within plans have failed
Ill-gotten were the riches, ill-tended were the fields
Laddie, grab a pail and bail for all you're WORTH!
Let's just all hope they're not setting the price on that too!!!!

Spirituals and Drums

My ancestors walking in the night
using oil lights and moonlight for guides
while being instructed to Wade in the Water
to camouflage their scents like disguise

The Sweet Chariot awaited
so they could ride away
Harriet was a soldier
and it wasn't an option to be caught during the day
That's the same mentality Nat Turner had when he sang
Steal Away

They would follow the drinking gourd
so all were in accord to go north
The Gospel Train was coming
and at the end of the journey
was a fine reward
Freedom was coming
and it was a long time coming and
they walked until they heard freedom bells ringing
and I still hear their tired footsteps running

Thinking of My Darling Nelly Gray
Stolen from my arms a random September day
and eliminated our chances to run away together
No family ties, no love, no strength says the oppressor

Then I hear the drums beat in the darkness
giving me the hope of finally being free
Maybe I'll follow them this time on faith
on bended knee
There must be a place for me among the light
of this darkness
Among oppression, thieves, evil-doers
no thought on their conscience

Thank goodness for the safe houses that
supported our traveled distances
and for the conductors who bore witnesses
and may God have mercy on the souls who
were against this
and on those who chose to forget this sh@!

I still hear crying in quilts of safety
because I know that the burden was heavy
to be at the mercy of nature and patrol men
catching run-away slaves for money
Some did it bare feet with freedom ahead of this
loved induced journey and they made it
So all that bull about how your life is hard
just stuff it in an envelope and save it

DEMON CALLED GOD

The same deadly story unfolds
Mumbai, Pune, Varanasi
Bombs rip apart our souls
When will stop this atrocity

They come in the form of Demons
Kill in the name of God
Nature created species and humans
Why Humans created God?

Bloated egos fill some minds
Hatred makes the world go blind
We are all born to die
This is not the way, we cry

Swear in the name of dead
To slay in the name of God
Dangerous game triggered by man
The same God will destroy man

When pigs and monkeys roars
How a pig became a lion?
How , How a monkey roars?
That's when you stop saying NO
Humiliation occurs
When the lions are here
When the lions onshore
Pigs will be pigs
A monkey will stand for
A monkey , no less , no more

Human
Human am I
So, I hear I am human
Therefore, human rights by nature are mine
Who have spoken of these?
Martin Luther King, Jr
Cesar Chavez
The Black Panther Party and the F.L.A.N

Human am I
Born female with a path
Grown to a woman with a guilty mark
So, I hear I am human
Therefore, human rights by nature are mine

Grown to a woman
Human still am I
Yet, simple human rights have been denied
To brothers and sisters of mine

Still human am I
Therefore, human rights are being denied
By those who can’t understand
What nature can’t denied

Human
Human am I
So, I hear I am human
Still a human am I
A woman with human rights…

fracking oil

should I believe you man in the suit?
oh your hair looks mighty fine
combed back, your polished slacks
a slight tan
you are irresistible in your presence
demanding attention.
you have a face that looks right
nothing you say would be out of sight
nothing you do would steer me wrong
oh man in the suit,
you are my god.
you have the power to make us thrive
dig a hole
to the other side
not to china, but to the fuel
oh man in the suit
I cannot trust you
you dug too deep
into a pocket of the earth
looking for more resource
to fill your own pockets
but I don't want pockets
man in the suit
all I want
is for you to tell the truth
your polished smile did us wrong
lies lay upon your clever tongue
and you continue to rule the earth
digging your holes
you find more girth
to your hungry pockets
which you try so hard to fill
when will you learn
that filling pockets kills...

Falling of the Edge of the World

I travelled into my thoughts
To somewhere I've never been
The horrors that awaited me
Took me to our human extreme

I cried when I looked through
The windows of our past
And marvelled at what she gave us
I was left in total aghast

In the year two thousand and six
Seven hundred and eighty four
That graced the lands we borrow
Were shown the extinction door

The Tasmanian Devil never nasty
To the Wolves that roamed Alba's land
The Dodo so strange a bird
Were in natures future plans

Twenty eleven now awaits us
Whilst us humans continually strive
Nine hundred and five is now the total
That will never be found alive

Us humans, before we go to sleep
Their falling of the edge of the world
But hey! we'll never change
We're ignorant, and incredibly absurd

Tangled Vines

An orange trumpet vine in its beauty

Orange trumpet flowers bright intriguing

It grows reaches for the sun 'pon trellis' strong towers

So lovely and shady is its green vine drawing most humankind to climb

~~Climb until they reach its first level where other vines intwine

Vines intwined of such strength and beauty

One that is mixed in there is Passion Flower

Passion on this first level hasn't passed away

All vines honeysuckle, jasmine, poison ivy reach for the top

At the very top tangled vines wrap around healthy trees slowly choking
                                                                                            out the life

Strong vines cut into the outer bark getting tighter every year

Soon the inner being suffers crushing

By the strong vines which cut deeper, deeper and deeper each

years growing season

The trees who gave support are now overcome by a mass of flowery death

Tangled vines have overpowered

Their deceit and trickery has accomplished its death deeds

The tangled vines are at the top but the trellis of strength and support

                                                                   Is about to topple

You Planted a Garden

You planted a garden and must make a decision,
As some varieties become very independent,
You are the one that has to control this situation.

The corn grows tall, creating massive division,
Suppressing all others, becoming the one percent.
You planted a garden and must make a decision.

The squash is crafty by wondering in any direction,
And steals nutrients from others without consent,
You are the one that has to control this situation.

The tomatoes spread through rapid disconnection.
Their vines hold others down through dissent.
You planted a garden and must make a decision.

The potatoes hide to avoid any infection,
Become the underground within the basement.
You are the one that has to control this situation.

So remember, you are in charge solely by election,
And every plant is part of those you represent.
You planted a garden and must make a decision,
You are the one that has to control this situation.

The Constitution of a Aging Veggie Eater

I the aged, will do my solemnly best
to eat all my green like vegetables
and what every doctor Oz says is good for my body
and will affirm that in good faith, I give my word that, I will protect my colon and my heart
to the best of my ability, to preserve my health and defend my new way of life
no matter how young i may feel at the time...

P.S. But if a desert comes into view, I will not, do my Hostess best to walk away?!
but eat it with the vigor of a young woman, without a waist line!

FLOODS

Gushing and Rushing with no delay
Similar to a run in an olympic relay
Rising its level with rabid haste
Making human watched likened to a paste

It came from the height of the heavens
Wrathly pouring down to bald mountains
Dashing down having no mercy given
Towards these beings that thinks only of gains

This is just a matter of consequence
For beings such as us that has less prudence
Now we gain what we have sown
And it has rapidly and largely grown

Now we find the blame for the result
Instead of finding the solution of our fault
This great waters that we have caused
Must be helped and prevented until its paused

Look Around You

Look around you
The world is already at an end
When the Mayans said that the world was going to end
They didn't mean a world destroyed by flare, quake, or salvation
But rather a world full of broken relation
That possibly, it wasn't a literal interpretation
But a figurative analysis of this falling nation
Are we not all the same people, the same human
But we'd rather live a life divided
A life divided by the color of our skin
What is war but greed to keep the amount of money left for our kin
Life is no longer cherished
The earth used for our own experiments until its resources perished
Genocide, assassinations, and murder supported for a "better cause"
Who are we to judge the abominations of others when there is flaw in our own laws
We continue to redefine what is socially accepted
Making a gateway for divorce, abortion, and legal prostitution
Rather than fixing what has been so psychologically rooted into the minds of this generation
We look to cover up past mistakes with a newly corrupted translation
Girls look for sex because of a lack of love from their fathers
Society tells boys to make use of this advantage
Treat girls as objects rather than human beings with emotions
And we later ask ourselves
How did these boys and girls ever become such bad parents
Our government shouts democracy
But isn't that really just a cover up to keep us appeased
It's most convenient when the majority stays quiet
Because only those in power can say that this earth's a heaven
To the majority, this earth is already a hell
The human race is so arrogant
Believing that they are the most superior in this world
That they can live without the mercy of God who should be in control
Look around you
The world is already at an end

A Resolution for This time

A Resolution for This Time
(Based on Eccl. 3:1-15)
©2011 C. Brent Cloyd

I long to see the beauty of my time
Hear music from eternal bells that chime
Enjoy earth, till this good life I sever
Look toward heaven that last forever

I’ll grasp my part in each life occasion
Banish thoughts and deeds of ill persuasion
Accept God’s design for each life season
Submit that I need not know His reason

I will celebrate life so wondrous born
Understand that death is not always scorn
Propagate goodness and wholeness in life
And uproot that which causes pain and strife

I’ll concede it’s sometimes proper to kill
But until convinced I’ll promote goodwill
Useless things I will tear down and destroy
Then plan to build, and work efforts deploy

I will comfort the hearts of those forlorn
Together find God’s healing as we mourn
Dare to dream, love, have hope, and take a chance
Embrace the moment, laugh, and learn to dance

I’ll speak with passion, let pieces scatter
Gather the fragments, avoid the chatter
Engage opinions, proceed with a shrug
When acceptable, open arms and hug

For things of value I’ll search at great cost
When searching is exhausted count it lost
When usefulness has ended, throw away
But don’t allow important things to stray

Now is the time to tear some things apart
Then with care I’ll mend and make a new start
Learn the lesson that silence is golden
Of words fitly said men are beholden

I pledge to hate what is cruel and unjust
Teach that kindness and fairness are a must
In war, anger and malice find release
But I’ll use my voice to encourage peace

Yesteryear’s events once again will be
To measure their success we wait and see
God’s deeds are good, lasting and without flaw
Of Him and His works I will gaze in awe.

Gulf Oil Spill

Our ecosystem and wildlife can no longer be ignored
The devastation caused by the Gulf oil spill must vastly be restored

As anger and frustration surges across the Coast
The depletion of our environment, indeed we fear the most

Several past months, many lives have been erased
In the midst of these disasters, we can only look to faith

Now let us pay a visit to some underlying factors
Volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, and other natural disasters

It was not in their intention for a high tech failed invention
Yell still they don't take into account the consequences of their actions

Efforts to contain this oil spill is more doltish than we have known
What more massive debacles can this single Earth condone?

Many local residents are now suffering from depressions
So think about what lies ahead, our future generations

Only The Strong Will Survive

       ONLY THE STRONG WILL SURVIVE
God gives not peace, it's only dreamt by man,
in all the world ,brought from catastrophe,
all things are made, since time was first began
by things upheaved so new life comes to be.

The weak must fail, be eaten by the strong,
and losers die the death along the way,
so new life grows, even if it is wrong,
there is no time the poor will have to play.

The lion who will lay down with the lamb,
will have a feast before the day is done,
and all the world will never give a damn,
nor care about the giants and their fun.

The hunter takes his aim and fells the dove
the weak in life are only dreaming of.

Gravity

You have unfailingly demonstrated your love
      every law supporting our galaxy
is so harmonious that this
little blue paradise could not exist
      every thread and movement
so precise we can measure
its movements right down to atomic levels

All so this small space
could provide everything anyone
who had any appreciation
might understand that we have
      been provided abundantly every delight
in the way of plans for a Utopia

Yet the movements of every ruling body
of science religions governments corporations
      seem bent on destruction
tampering with the finesse of precision
incorporated in the molecules of life
Continuous self reproduction and regeneration in nature
right down to making "seeds who self destruct"
to make nature exactly as themselves

I divorce publicly these unions of violence
demonstrated in their every thought and deed
      poisonous words poisonous chemicals
totalitarian ideology pandemic to
the leaders of these factions
warring with each other hoarding the
wealth of a planet given freely to
      the father of our species

And if you don't believe that
then think nature gave it freely
of her every fruit produced by her ground
          YOU WARRING FOOLS
who delight in the peril and fall
of your own family
      who know not nor recognize
your own worth or the worth
of everything and everyone around you

No , but you fall at the feet
admiringly of all these mongrels
          the media who worship
          these fine movers and shakers
who roll right over you and think
you should be trained groupies
these men who kill your planet
          with ideologies and philosophies
whose very design is to denigrate
your worth and exalt themselves

Therefore I will exalt in your instruction
the progenitor of life for as surly
as we examine the work of life
we are moved by its abundant wealth
freely shared with all who live on this little rock
to examine why we all are unable
to fluently live within its confines

I think I will not walk off the cliff today
gravity is my friend if I know her rules

Earth Change.. a Monotetra form poem

You pass me by on distant shore
where drought caused forest fires roar
where rivers rise and harsh rains pour
I cry no more, I cry no more.

You witness want on bended knee
Upon the screens of your TV
My children die before they’re free
No hope for me, no hope for me

Your oil hunger, corporate greed
Still planting wars from scattered seed
Creating slaves by forcing need
My heart does bleed, my heart does bleed

The oceans and the mountains call
Pray stop the pain of Eden’s fall
This earth belongs to great and small
For one and all, for one and all

Gulf Oil Spill !

Man to blame,
Once again to his shame,
His record continues to destroy !

The beauty he did not create, nor can he save…
He will never learn how to properly behave…

Nature screams pointlessly once again ?
Fearing where next we’ll drill ?
Gulf oil spill.

Chapters

Our lives are like stories
Like the ones found in books
We all play our part in the plot
But you were a bit more than just a character
Babe, you were a chapter

Chapters begin and end so quickly
So fleeting, like the way we would flirt
A heart-pounding beginning with a dry, cold close

I'm saying good bye
This is for every time I could have cried
This is for every night that you forgot I exist
But I haven't shed a tear on you and, boy, I'm not gonna try
This is for every single mean thing you say
This is me deciding not to pretend I'm looking the other way
This is something I'm doing for me
So good bye, cause no longer will I be the girl who is blind

The chapter has sealed itself shut
So sit in your room and play some mean songs about me
I don't care, I know somebody with nicer hair

As a kid you must have been the bully on the playground
I'm done being the girl you give affection to and push down
And I'm tired of standing on the sidelines while you try to run the show
I'm gonna move on with my life
Prove there are things you will never know
There are things that books can't tell you
Things only the heart can understand
You don't have one of those
So, pardon me, if I don't consider you a man

The chapter has ended but I won't shed a tear
The future's too bright for me to look back to darkness

Lime Trees

Summers consist of

peridot mornings,

and emerald afternoons.

The trees filter the sunlight -

so often saving me from

those headaches, which might have

mutated, evolved into migraines.

By autumn, the leaves have changed colour:

a poet's palette of

amber, copper,

gold, and red.

In winter, the trees are slender,

with a stark, grey-brown beauty:

looking fragile,

yet able to endure

the harsh frosts of the season.

And, throughout the seasons,

"they" plot.

They want

a concrete Universe -

so they mark out their potential

victims, with orange spots.

The letters to local residents are headed:

"Implementation of

Environmental Improvements".

Yet, trees can bleed.

Scenes of carnage seal the deal.

They win; we lose.

So much wildlife, instantly evicted.

Fluorescent yellow workmen circle tree stumps,

inspecting their day's work -

before going for "a pint",

and home for tea.

Spring is cancelled.

Le Vacance Pretentieuse: The Market

Shuffling sandstone, infinite shimmering coloured pots,
TV remotes lie in tandem with jeans, shiny toy robots
Act as magnets to the unwary tourist, conspicuous in
Their presence, shorts and cameras, humid hair in knots.

Spices of hues in their hundreds to make you salivate,
Groaning shack tables of suspicious sunglasses sate
Your appetite for purchases, the sun beats down on
The market, Medina bursting with life which cannot wait.

Eyes flicker over unsuspecting strangers, enticing you
To buy, trapped by the lure of a carpet woven new
By sweating men grasping, chasing any chance to sell
The future. Will you ever use this carved snooker cue?

Raindrops

The rain marched uniformly as an army in its prime
But this was no ordinary army along too came their band
They marched with a song so calming to hear
It changed in slopes and meanders as it made its way down
They were the ones who woke you and they soon removed your frown
You sat and listened as their song changed soothing you out of sleep
One by one they marched on with their tune down the slope
They were an army never to march again but soldiered on
An army of many and army of one… purpose
It's the army that resurrects the thoughts of wartime
It's the song that tickles your mind and helps you back… to it
Hoping you will err not twice as every army on the slope has
Take a different journey hidden in the clouds of your sky
But like every soldier before down the slopes it pours
Raindrops in the night

MYSTIC PARABLE

Stories dared not whispered, legend of great thinker.
Artificially created Atlantis, maze search for law-giver.

Hushed lips speak no evil, silly little monkey cliche.
Privy ancient knowledge, not clear as light and day.

So-called peace-loving demigods, closely followed in trace.
Sexually crazed fools, copying angels fallen from grace.

Pillars of Hercules within island, dynasty king frenzy awoke.
Powerful and remarkable, ready to enslave at single stroke.

Originally thought to be noble, conspicuous reveal greed.
In route to world domination, struck down by Specialbreed.

Later time earthquakes and floods, extraordinary violence.
Single dreadful day and night, massive lost of innocence.

Intervening super mighty one, so-called wrathful Zeus.
Manipulation of elements, water and lightning bolts let loose.

Grand golden wall palace, swept aside sea and sunk below.
Ironical measured payment, for employment of ruthless blow.

Swiming through labyrinth of wisdom, vie of the celest'.
Chancing risk of schism, mighty sequential vignette.

Perplexed pattern in hide, bloody seal of truth.
Illuminati repelled, for a time real minoot.

Message of twisted tongue, langual contrivance.
Masters' visions swoon, in journey through euphoric trance.

Loud whisper switch, silence left in wake.
Souls of denizens burned, in fiery scourching shake.

Prominent eclectic short order, alien wishbone act.
Convert of non-belief, fierce zealots' minds impact.

Lucid broken water reflection, visible-eye agleam.
Blind finding quarry, standing like obelisk beam.

Instinctive overriding, a slip into lucidity.
Telepathic mind connection, recede to infinity.

Exponential theory, base of schematics.
Common like maybe, superpower military tactics.

Voice of bleeding knowledge, fade to obscurity.
Mystic in strange land, fault found in masters of intricacy.

Undecipherable rhetoric, great monster on chase.
Featureless darkness, a threat to human race!

Rhaslas Not just a Pond

I sit beside this vast expanse of water, my vision completely encompassed with glittering blue,
I blink and look up to the sunshine, before I lose myself, before I become magnetised by flickers of sunlight upon a moving mass of beauty.
I cannot comprehend why anyone would take away this marvel, a glory in it’s own right, but also a home to many, those around, and those who remain out of sight for fear of repercussions,
A nest with eggs of lapwing can be stolen for a price, or for a meal for a hungry fox or badger.
Others come for the fishing, the elegant heron, like a dinosaur in flight, but oh so graceful, The ducks they love Rhaslas for they can dive the bottom for fish, for it is a rare pond, of shallow depth, no more than six in foot.
The algae and the pond weed is food fit for the gods, and sustains many types of wildlife, and the view of the pond and it’s inhabitants sustains the soul.
I beg of you sit there for an hour, on a sunny or cloudy day, sit on the bank and listen, and look out at the sights,
If I am not mistaken you will feel rejuvenated and new, and above all you will know that I have told the truth to you.

The Prologue Poem

O love! Tell them, the good men,
In your own old melodious tone:
Let’s again—Return to Nature.
Whatever little or large is left,
Let’s re-adorn her.
And if they won’t!
Let’s—You and I.
Hand-in-hand walk away of the city:
Biharis stay by the smelling slums;
Laid-off-addicts stand in long queues; or the clerics kiss the petty politicians on brows.
Where monsters: War-weopens, Jingoism, Globalization, Modernity, and Machines,
 Have spread havoc!
And find our abode, there,
Near the breezy woods, in the calm country;
Where well! I can meditate,
And you’ll have all that childish fun…
Running after the flies, or fighting with the bucks,
Dancing in sultry summer’s bursting rain,
Or mimicking a singing bird.

(the poems is the introductory poem of my poetry collection "TELL THE OLD LADY WAIT AND OTHER POEMS")

If I Were a Blood Sucking Parasite

If I were a blood sucking parasite
I'd hide in the stilt grass and wait
For the next feast to walk by.
Usually it's a deer or opossum,
But if the weather is fair I might see a hiker
Or a park ranger in khaki shorts
To feed off of for a while before an untimely discovery.

If the electoral season were right,
I'd position myself at the front doors
              Of the municipal building
And encourage people to vote for my cousin.
There's always a chance
My cousin might be elected in for another term,
Thus securing a food source for me and my family.

The best year or two of feeding
Is always after a presidential election year.
After the competition and smiles and baby kissing
If you supported the appropriate side,
You're guaranteed a few years of relative vacation
Before starting up the whole campaign trail
    All over again.

But I'm not the type to so easily accept handouts.
After the rush of rising out my my winter hibernation
And discovering who the new commander and chief might be;
I'd head back to my life of leisure,
Bobbing with the breeze
On the tip of a blade of stilt grass.
I wouldn't go back to the millstone because I had to.
I would do so simply because it feels good
To be working again.

Awake

Fog's invisibility fueled confusion
Light's penetrationn very weak; open
Door to knowledge, let light shine brightly forth
Throw open the blocked, barred, bolted passage
Welcome light to a clearer mind; warm heart
Beauty waits hidden drapped in shrouded shawl
Throw off shawl of depression; rainbows wait
Roosters roster calls in chorus wake light
Come, shine today for humanity waits
Sunlight shines in glory cast golden rays
Trees now in darker silhouette; fog
Seems more alive, doomed to be removed soon
Sun slowly rises bringing with it hope;
Hope of a sunny better day like spring

THAT OTHER CHURCH

People rushing ~ church on the corner
being on time ~ sits empty all week,
I walk there, around the building
new parking lot ~ I could roller skate!

My friend, she attends, I used to
remembering my legacy, as a kid
big Cathedral, choirs, altar boys
family reunions ~ stock principles!

It was strong, loud voices, even then
finding cars in parking lot,
the War (the big one) was ended
we forgot strife ~ remembered being together!

Years past ~ family almost gone
a survivor, Son who doesn't worship,
go to Church ~ big oil company employee
taking over U. S., ruining waters!
`
And I fight back, Nebraska midwest,
where once we fought & stood together
now land marks are at stake
not just church worship!

But it seems demeaning, churches full on Sunday,
Then fighting for land, water quality
why doesn't big Pharm and Ag pray with us,
we won the big one!

Why are we fighting them now,
equal rights for nature, God at rest,
maybe picture changes overnight,
Nostradamus gone mad from insight!

Are end times just a vision
land at stake ~ churches empty
and it's still a social issue,
politics and presidents ~ never good enough!

One man, putting his life at stake
used to advisors, good and bad,
is anyone's conscience driven back to God
Every day ~ every way!

Or is it ~ just that other church
~ they're in the way!

"The Snakes"

The Snakes are moving to Washington,
where they'll buy real estate and visit
the Smithsonian,
They'll set up a residence next to the President,
trying very hard to be his best friend,
Mrs. Snake will befriend the children and the First Lady,
but their motives will be quite shady,

The Snakes are getting ready to make their move,
with their spyware and smoothe grooves,
part of their plan is to win over Capitol Hill
so they can make their "Big Kill",

The Snakes are coming!
slithering slowly,
when their cover gets exposed,
things are going to get ugly!

They will sneak in the nooks and crannies,
They may even try to upset Granny,
but they are coming in disguise,
while their daggers are traveling behind in the skies.

Detroit

Teens walk the streets full of fear,
A ton of murders every year,
Death,
Theft,
Hate and knives,
Drugs,
Money,
Murdered wives,
These are the things I see,
But they shall never create me,
It's crazy how most of our teen
murders are gang related,
For some teens never had love,
After joining a gang,
They will fight for their lives,
To the point where guns are being
heard,
More than a singing bird,
And murders are being committed
more than child birth,
And some see Detroit as hell on
Earth,
But no one pays attention to the
intelligence our teens are worth,
For Detroit is a city full of broken
dreams,
Hoping one day all gangs will work
together,
And unite as a team,
Then we will create a great future,
For Detroit's wound will rejoin with
a suture,
And one day we will make a
successful cope,
Detroit is a city full of hope.

AN UNCERTAIN VICTORY

Why did they fight that war? Why did those young lives experience mortal terror?
Many left their homeland to serve as they sung their National Anthem...
others stayed behind, not caring about their destiny in a unfamiliar land so far?
I saw them waving goodbye to everyone...I wished I had gone with them!

The invisible enemy was hiding on the other side of the wild river,
as the platoon's commander ordered the vigilant soldiers
to target anything or anybody that moved on ground and in the air...
a Cobra helicopter hovered above to spot and hit the targets.

Clouds gathered above to add gloom as the crawling soldiers have their steady grip
on the colt commands ready to fire as the Vietnamese should advance...
a patton tank followed them on rugged terrain ready for valiant defense;
who wouldn't wear a brave look on the battlefield : until his blood would drip?

Through marshes infested by snakes and rats, they carried the wounded to safety;
and any soldier had to bear pain without emetting a scream...how heartrending!
Behind them, the sanguine batterfied echoed with blasts and unthinkable atrocity...
there were no winners in this war: both sides finally realized the useless fighting!

Celebrate!!
Oil for all!!
Bring a cup
Have your fill!!
Black gold for all!!

Pelicans are oil coated,
Ready to fry!
Black moon sand is
Free for all!!

The oil is still
Lingering on
Alaska's shore
Twenty-one years later
Clean up of the
Exxon-Valdez spill, still not clean!!

Dear politicians please help!!!

The oil still flows like black death!

brief letter to a young politician in the making

dear friend,
my fear for you, is that you are filled with a
fire in your
belly &
that out of anger at seeing the
bull*****that is going on around you,
you have felt the need for a while
to try & change things for the better---
while this is most certainly an
admirable trait
for anyone to hold,
the idea that you are limited to the
channels which the powers that be
offer you on a platter,
is one that if you let it, will inevitably
corrupt you & destroy
all the genuine “goodness,”
if i might be so bold,
which you have inside you---
i speak to you with this in mind
due to the intimate nature of a personal
friendship, which has spanned a few years,
during which the both of us have shared
many a conversation on
the nature of the world,
the so-called political structure that this
empire wields &
philosophy in general.

there are other ways of using the energy
which you have exemplified to me
personally, a thousand times over---
history has shown you in all the books you
have read & from the mouths of all those
whom you admire that have never been
disfigured by the american political process,
that there is a plethora of inspirational
women & men, who have been committed to
the betterment of our people & the human
species in totality,
that have never even pondered
the aspirations of power that would lead
someone to offer up their hands
to the bloodying, dirtying &
tying,
which shows itself to be essential
for the climbing of that
fateful ladder,
here in the belly of the empire.

rather than spend weeks & months
thinking about the most “appropriate”
way to express your concerns about
this world & the country in which you live,
DO SOMETHING NOW---
it’s ok!
nobody is going to hold it against you---
nobody worth anything, that is.

with all the sincerity i can muster,
        -delapruch

Warning Sign

Surly you have put
                your word to pen
the winds have carried them
have dispersed them upon the globe
the game pieces are in place
and the populace lives under
               dense clouds of darkness
though not awake aware of determinations
                        a war machine
funded with flesh and gold
                        as oxen under yoke
who have no say in what their masters plow

They HAVE been forewarned
surly your WORD has come full circle
you have called out the future
and given knowledge of fortresses
                        battlements and shields

The 1st WAR your minds
The 2nd WAR your hearts
The 3rd WAR your flesh

             the full destruction of corruptions

Surly your intentions have
been fully shown for any knowing
the instructions of the King
but they have been led astray
and loved to have it that way

You keep sending your servants
the watchmen who view into distances
to tell what was far off has come close

The Temple and the Bride
               are nearly completed
the invitations to all the guests
not one single soul is exempt
                of participation
freewill will have a whole new meaning
you can choose the royal law of Life

or be driven off the cliffs
by unruly angels
because the ideology of WAR
            and fear driven by rulers
whose behavior is so corrupt
that we liken them to being demonic

Come now where is your reason
that you should choose WAR
             over the avenues of peace
everywhere you turn is a sign
            and it says beware
wake up wake up wake up
                before you sleepwalk
                    into death

Stop the Development

Swarming like insects
The development is coming
gnats, mosquitoes, and ants
They are destroying all the plants

Their buzzing sound
is more like the cash register going Cha-ching
It matters NOT, where you go,
like a mold or a fungus the develop will grow

They call it progress
They call it for the better
sly as the lie that is St. Nick.
They neglect to tell you nothing grows on brick

More parking lots and strip malls,
More freeways and byways and twenty foot walls,
Where the water runs in the road,
From a cup that has seriously overflowed.

They will definitely prey on the common fear
They are going to tell you things that you want to hear,
Where the stream beds run dry,
And the old man recollects with a sigh,

I plant this seed for the children of the land
In the hopes that we wake up and understand
Stop the development, a three story mall has no worth,
When all that we need can be produced by the Earth.

The Planet

I cant believe it's happening
Most people do not care
But everyone is guilty
Of putting a hole in the ozone layer

The time has come to think about
Just what we're going to do
The polar caps are melting
And the animals suffer to

They say look to the future
But the future's looking bleak
To chop down a rain forest
May only take a week

We need to stop all fighting
We don't have time to row
We need to save our planet
And we need to save it now

Eden Return

Hysterical laughter in eternity
still crying out at the hypocrisy
of life lived under the thumbs
of the oppressing ones.
Freedom they said they would give us
If we asked the king to forgive us.
and if we agree to pay tribute
they would stop the rape and loot
we didn't even know
which ones were in control
at any point in time
the fully sublime
shiftings of power
by the day and the hour
locked in the ivory tower
and away from the peasant earth digger
they had much bigger
things to accomplish, than just a pleasant life.
And all the strife they laid upon us all
was part of the fall
from dignity.
It's a pity.
Then came the mines and the factories
warriors needed to keep the keys
to the city gates in the right hands
none of us really understands
the workings of the minds that need
so badly to succeed
that life has no meaning or worth.
Even less for planet earth.
And she's dying
and no one is trying
to revive her.
Now they want to survive her
and credit card shackles still hold the debtors prison
third world vision
is incomplete
no one can compete
in world markets controlled by the elite
we are the billion feet
of the crawling beast.
and at least
we could know why we chose it.
Just suppose it
could change.
Seems strange.
But if the feet stop running the treadmill of fear
and we all held dear
what was important, sacred, the sane
would we stop acid rain?
What if our lawns became gardens all
could we reverse Edens fall?
What if our children could eat and play
from natures sweet bounty every day?
Would cancer disappear if we stopped the spray?
and left no more poison where children play?
What if we made our own industries
in each of our communities?
What if we made windmills and power the sun
we may have just begun
a revolution
that holds a solution
for our planets peace.
I release my rage at the beastly machine
that holds destruction, Pull myself from in between
the cogs of the wheel of the corporate dream
and paint a new picture in the sky.
Of streets and towns and city planning true
ways and solutions that work for me and you
and the earth's evolution could take another turn
where we do not burn
in the hell of nuclear wastelands
It will take many hands
to undo the self fulfilling prophesies of armageddon
Get on board, this train is moving. get on
with it. We all fit in the grand plan,
the saving grace of man.

WE CAN STILL DREAM

WE CAN STILL DREAM

“In a world where the stakes are higher”
We can still dream of living a calm existence
and know that when it comes time to say farewell
we can grin and take our memories with us to
where there is a heavenly paradise waiting for us
where there are no risks but love and all are similar
accepted and included.

So, in a world where the stakes are higher
why can’t every person be susceptible to compromise
in all regards and never prompt others to dislike them
nor for that matter turn around and despise those who
 they caused to hate them?

Why can’t relations be had with out any kind of meddling
With out ruse and even with out duplicity of any kind
especially if one person has a child who needs more than
an training and actually needs aid which a lone parent
might never be able to give? - for that matter why can’t
we all trust each other despite the conviction that some
citizens of this planet are not as honest as the rest of
us? – We can still fantasize, but why is that all we can
  do?

CLOCK ON THE WALL

                                           CLOCK ON THE WALL

THE CLOCK ON THE WALL READS HALF PAST THE HOUR
EVERY TIC OF THE LITTLE SECOND HAND SEEM TO GET LOUDER
WITH NUMEROUS INMATES SCREAMING OUT AT BEHIND THESE SOLID WALLS, COLD BARS, WHICH HOLDS THE CLOCK THAT ANSWERS MOST OF THEIR CALLS.
EVERYTHING RAN ON TIMELY SCHEDULE ALL EYES ON THE CLOCK WAITING FOR THE NEXT DIRECTION TO GO. WITH ONLY MY WIT, FAITH AND STRENGTH GIVEN TO ME BY GOD IT’S ALL I HAVE TO GET ME SAFELY HOME.
IT IS CLEAR EVERY MOMENT IN TIME HAS VALUE WHETHER YOU CHOOSE TO SEE IT, OR NOT IT’S A GIFT OF NO OTHER. I HOPE FOR YOU TO TRULY UNDERSTAND IT BEFORE YOU ARE THE NUMBER STARING AT IT.
THIS CLOCK SITS AT A PLACE NOT ALL CAN HANDLE EVERYTHING IS CONTROLLED BY NUMBERS. NO MATTER HOW YOU PICK IT UP OR PUT IN DOWN. THIS IS A PLACE WHERE EVERYTHING STANDS STILL AND THINGS RARELY FOUND. A PLACE OF NO TIME FOR YOU TO GET BUT ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD FOR YOU TO HAVE.
JUST LIKE THE CLOCK ON THE WALL WHO HANGS AROUND TO REMIND YOU OF THAT FACT. BUT AS THE DAY NEARS TO ITS END. COUNT TIME BECOMES YOUR CLOSET FRIEND. IT’S TIME TO COME IN FROM THE YARD; I CAN’T HELP BUT WONDER AND THINK TO MYSELF WHO’S REALLY DOING THE TIME

                                            THE CLOCK ON THE WALL,
                                            THE INMATES OR
                                            THE GUARDS.

To both sides who can relate.
                                                                              BY PAUL J WILLIAMS SR

Nine Hundred Eighty Three

983 pounds of blackbirds fell down from the sky.
Was this an end times sign or just a catastrophe?
I think it was part of mans destructive history.
You at least must agree; this would make a big pie.

Some say it was lightening strikes and fireworks.
Who are these some that speak upon this?
Why would they make such a ludicrous miss?
Do they really expect us to believe, what jerks?

So-called experts say birds followed leader to suicide.
What kind of fools do they make us out to be?
These charlatans are supposed to be brilliant, you see.
Now they should readjust thoughts, as they go and hide.

Many will say it’s a sign; end of times coming soon.
Though I say Gods, signs will be more massive.
There will be no doubt; he will not be passive.
Majestic and overwhelming signs will make us swoon.

They have no definite answer to give to us all.
Why do they give us such ridiculous responses?
Maybe they are afraid of truth of their analysis.
They would rather let ourselves; forget the birds fall.

We Are Not Artificial We Are Legion

The stagnate machine planted firmly, rusted gears laboring to drudge along.
It does not function properly anymore; it has become obsolete.
The workers no longer need the machine to live their lives.
They can design a new system, built upon self-sustaining values.
It once labored greatly to support its work force. The machine now hinders the lives of the workers.
The workers grew so reliant upon the machine they thought they had become part of it, cogs in the system.
Now they realize more and more each day, that not only are their lives separate from the machine, without it they are more able to focus on the fundamental values of life.

Not all men have this,
Plenty do and it makes life seem hard to exist
From Oil in Iraq
To Blood Diamond in Sierra Leone
Sooner or Later, Mother Earth will tell you
“Leave me the heck alone!”
Will you listen?
Of course not,
She'd have to glue your men together
Gray clouds with a dirty mist will make you surrender
When her eyes glaze at you
Maybe you'll realize there'll be no you

Rulership

God has set before you Jesus the son of man
given him his power the only one who can
Jesus walked on water and legions overthrew
healed every illness did as was sent to do

Few have little comprehension of his gifts to men
how they are empowered when Jesus lives within
to be the Sons of God have his Light shine through
understand his Words and it's energy imbue

God has given treasures the inheritance of Son
that they become like master God's Beloved One
they are under tutors until they understand
the meaning of his rulership and in it's service stand

The Sovereigns of the nations do their leadership abuse
are corrupt in practice and righteous judgment do refuse
the takers of bribes and justice do pervert
on the path to the top care not who they hurt

Solomon gave his heart to know folly and wisdom
every Son of God will into this knowledge come
for God will in his kingdom have only those who serve
as only those who walk in Love treat others as deserve

The working of the Secret since garden was foretold
that a government by God determined in days of old
God has chosen the weak and those the world despised
that they should bare his image to Jesus rank will rise

All governments and nations in adversary's hand do stand
to our Lord did offer them for act of worship did demand
Jesus refused the offer , devotion to his Father True
prophetic Word of God this world already overthrew

Arise oh sleepers do open eyes and rise
throw down the World and sever all your ties
understand what is written the King is drawing near
war is coming to the World collect he will whats dear

Jesus has built his Father's temple with many gem and stone
descend it will from heaven within his throne will home
God is collecting from man his priests and Kings
they will govern from his temple dispense his holy things

The nations to the temple for instruction will come
with the adversary gone Light can shine on everyone
you must choose your side before God's war ensues
for your Father wants you happy and never Love refuse

Save Our Wetlands

My home state loses a football field,
Of coastal land each day of the year.
I’m no cheerleader about this,
It fills my heart with fear.

I wish I had funds to donate to the cause.
Maybe if I expressed my thoughts of the situation,
It would cause others to pause.
As the pelicans swim to the beat,
 Of their inward drum,
And contribute to the state,
That many other states of the union,
Were carved from.

Way back before humans existed,
Our dear state Louisiana was merely sea floor.
If we humans that exist today,
Don’t get serious about this erosion problem,
The state where jazz was born,
Will be sea floor once more.

Our coastal industries, beautiful magnolia trees,
And the capital of the Old South,
Will no longer exist.
We won’t be able to reminisce about anything,
If our hindrance persists.

Like bacteria attacks a cell,
Our precious land is being attacked as well.
Like our educated out migrants,
Land is leaving without being replaced.
Saving this land helps us ecologically:
This includes the human race.

Please fellow residents and people who once,
Or never lived here before.
Fill Louisiana’s heart with cheer,
By contributing to this worthy cause.
If one can’t give monetarily,
He or she should then take a pause.
Be creative and think of other ways,
That one is able to help this wonderful state.

We would certainly appreciate anything you do,
To help us out.
I know the pain of the land will be eased,
Without a doubt.

Our state has faith in us as we have faith in it.
Let us not only be cheerleaders, but star players.
So that our precious land can stay strong,
Throughout its layers.
This erosion problem can be very costly:
Climatic changes, loss of land, animal and plant species,
And human lives are just a few.
Please help save our wetlands,
Because it is part of the old and of the new.

Wrote November 2003 almost exactly 2 years before Hurricane Katrina,
while student @ ULM and concerned about the issue, as a student and scientist the topic of
New Orleans going under and the Mississippi River flow and creation of Louisiana was talked
about since I was in elementary school in the mid '80s was a main topic of concern for the
gubernatorial election held that year, and during that political official's term as governor,
Hurrican Katrina hit, Louisiana politics I tell you- they simply tell people what they want to
hear!

The Gulf

Just below the Bayou
And to the left of Tampa Bay
Is a place of peace and a breathtaking view
Where tourists dare to stay

This place is the Gulf of Mexico
Ask anyone, they have heard
News of the storm that will not go
And that everyone there is hurt

Darkness has turned this place
Into a floating hell
Families hurt, animals killed
And for what, an oil spill?

My God, we watch from afar
In disbelief of the odds
That such a horrible card
Could be played by man, not God

Regardless of where you live today
It affects us as a whole
Remember this place when you pray
Let the nightmare for all, be told

Black Death Lies

Recalling the days not so far away,
Hearing experts speaking to say,
We had not enough oil today.
There was not five million to sway.
No, no, we had not enough oil here.
We depend on foreign oil so clear.
What do I see plastered in the news.
Millions and millions per day we lose.
What, we did not have is ruining, life.
Millions of dollars spent in strife.
Sea life, peoples lives in peril.
By what we did not have by the barrel,
Now we know; we were lied too, big.
Black Death, we had not, flows from rig.

Stop it

war is a constant
has been, all ways will be
power dictates the winner
who finished last
who's next in line
who controls you
it is the victor
he who writes the past

war is an epidemic
created by humanity
destroyer of families
how ironic
how war ties us together
how demonic, are its ways
war manipulates the pawns
this is how division equals multiplication

war is a weed
population control
the slaughter of good and evil
needs no rain
needs no sun
a means to harvest
the "lesser" men
war dies only to rise again

stop the wars
your not gods
stop the wars
before we lose what matters most
the possibility and beauty of unity

Used

Used to look through child’s eyes
Used to stare at star ridden skies
Used to smile at silly sounds
Used to dream of the future’s bounds

Used to play in the thicket of my mind
Used to search for a place to hide
Used to act like story book heroes
Used to count from 100 back to zero

Used to hold my breath till my face was bright red
Used to believe all the words that everyone said
Used to want a big house and brand new car
Used to hope that I could someday set the bar

Used to use my imagination
Used to use that motivation
Now being used by my frustration
Of being used by my own generation

Used to... used to...
You know I used to...
Use it all without a thought
Used too... Used too...
We’re all being used too...
Bought and sold like an old iron pot
Used to... used to...
You know we all used to...
Dream our world would never rot
Used too... Used too...
It’s all being used too...
All our resources from bottom to top

Used to sit up all hours of the night
Used to believe that people were alright
Used to think that we could still pull through
Used to think that everybody knew

Used to have faith in the ‘truth’
Used to see their words as proof
Used to hide these tears I’d cry
Used to hold my head up high

Used to think I had a grasp
Used to disguise myself with a plastic mask
Used to act like there was no problem
Used to hypocritically mock any and all of ‘em

Used to use their aspiration
Used to use their motivation
Now they use their investigation
To bind us to their administration

Used to... used to...
You know I used to...
Use it all without a thought
Used too... Used too...
We’re all being used too...
Bought and sold like an old iron pot
Used to... used to...
You know we all used to...
Dream our world would never rot
Used too... Used too...
It’s all being used too...
But when will this mass consumption ever stop?

Pent Up Anger

The howling wind interrupted my dreams,
Some time in the early morn.
It was a dark and moonless night,
With a long time left till dawn.
The roof it shook, the windows too,
The doors it seemed did breathe,
As Mother Nature's pent up force,
once more was loosed the leash.
I lay awake listening, in fear, and fascination,
That such destructive forces can grow,
To threaten the very fabric of a nation,
From the gentle summer breezes we know,
And trust as our true friends,
When they conspire together for power,
Then for many they deliver the end!

When the world ends.

When the world ends,i will be a man,
of unhealthy appearance,
spineless,a life of hardship.
Wrestling with my conscience,under difficulties,
assumed the presidency by fraud,
killed thousands of innocent people, overheated the planet.
I was the great seducer, according to master plan.
The world ruler.
Hiding in my capsule now, waiting the unexpected.
Death awaits all men,
tickling my vanity again.
The rejoinder of power thirsty.
Keep to the path,
and posterity will be the judge.
Knocking on heaven's door,
the man who sold the world.

It Used To Be An Open Range

In these dark days of war and death, in these days of turmoil and change—
In these days of political correctness, it sure does seem strange,
How once we did what we wanted – it used to be an open range.

I know now how it must have felt when they strung the range with barbed wire—
An era ended on those plains; the land and men put up for hire—
A way of life and freedom gone – a hard rain that put out the fire.

And nowadays in word and rhyme, it seems poets are all fenced in—
To write of history and yesterday, just seem to be a sin—
They only want these modern ranching times and not those way back when.

We know the world has changed a lot and all our freedoms have a cost—
It seems liberties’ now another word that comes each year with frost,
As mournfully we gaze on sunsets and dream back on all we’ve lost.

So hoist another cup of Joe and raise your drink for one last toast—
Like phantom bison and wild horses, our free ways give up the ghost
And sadly we lean back in saddles and lose the thing we love most.

In these dark days of war and death, in these days of turmoil and change—
In these days of political correctness, it sure does seem strange,
How once we did what we wanted – it used to be an open range.

empires

Empires.

Over the massive easterly ridge I see thousands of soldiers,
in splendid golden helmets, marching down the slope pushing
shadows, the residue of night, in front of them.
There is a momentary lull as a wayward cloud blocks the sun,
but the attack resumes and soon the army of the new empire
vanquish the whole valley; except perhaps in deep caves.
We are the new rulers; they boast we are the new reality, ah
this hubris do they not read history? Up from deep caves, like
unexplored thoughts, mutiny will come and darken their glory.
Helmets will rust; shiny buttons fall off un- starched uniforms;
when the afternoon shadows get longer, they try to rouse as
the setting sun paint clouds in a bloodthirsty hue; alas, too late.
At dawn the new empire’s army will be coming down the ridge
damning the old order into the long cold night of history.

The Divine

We built ourselves a universe We were the first cause The unmoved mover The grand architect We watched the people from a far As they dwelled in our world They always wonders "why" and "who am I" An answer we did not give Who are the mortal to know About the divine So they made their own Gods and prophets All right; and all are wrong Some stood the test of time But some just couldn't rhyme So they diminished thier delusions in time They fight and deny all other beliefs Why? It makes no sense to us Why all the big fuss? Cant they all be right? And all wrong? Why do they start discord When they worship the ones of concord Now, it is us the first cause The unmoved mover The grand architect Who are meant to ask "why" and "who are we" When all they do is fight more Far from the true truth

Where the green green grass grew
Only fatcats and sharks

Pour the grey stuff in the ponds
There's a sold sign on the fields
Where poets and thinkers strolled
Billboard signs sell happy meals

Dowse petrol on the plains
Flush out the fauna from the parks
Where Romantics went to paint
Haywains under carparks

Replace the ploughs with diggers
Pastures for backhanders
Where once was green and pleasant
The bloated politician sniggers

Rip out the hedgerows with indifference
Urban sprawl now covers all
Where streams gently trickled
Ugly homes drown in rivers

The Global Warming Goblins

 The Global Warming Goblins
 were gruesome
sneaky creatures
and there are movies
featured with these
creatures
they 'd often spread
gruesome tales
just to scare
they didn't care
like tales of dying whales...
and dying polar bears...
They'd pretend
to like nature .
They'd pretend
to like humans
Yet, the gruesome
sneaky goblins
blamed them for the strife
they set out to hurt humans
for the rest of their life.

Crunch! Gobble! Crunch!

"The earth will melt-they'd shout!"
And many more lies spread about!

"The earth will burn!"
"The earth won't turn!"

      Lies, Lies, Lies !

" Serve us or lose your head!"
"For if you don't, you will dread.!"

 Crunch! Gobble ! Crunch!

and it sit there awhile
with a big fang smile
cause it needed a bath; for it stank!

Spillcam

So, where is all that oil?
Please, share if you know!
Is there a camera to foil?
Let the world see the show
Living beyond our everyday
Can soon present a problem
Adjustment is the only way
May we all help solve them

Waiting for the Wind

Sitting in the morning just waking up on my side of the world today
I turn on the news see if anyone has anything good to say
Stock markets falling and another landslide while the politicians try to deny
Global warming and more killer storms and another thousand people die
and the advertiser says I’d be happy if I bought bigger car you know
I’ve got my sails out...and I’m waiting for the winds to blow
I got my sails out...and I’m waiting for the winds to blow.

Sometimes I think the world’s gone mad and I can’t stand to hear the pain
One place burning in holy fire and another in a deluge of rain
Sometimes I think that hatred and war is the only way we know how to be
And I want to sail away,..in a world made for you and me
Sometimes I wonder at the pace of it all, where’s everybody trying to go
I got my sails out...and I’m waiting for the winds to blow.
I got my sails out...and I’m waiting for the winds to blow.

Why can’t we see the beauty of it all in the sun rising every day
Life holding on to the sides of mountains and the waters rushing into the bay
Why can’t we live as if nothing on earth mattered more that the love that we bring
I want to sail away,.. and become part of everything
Why can’t we care just a little bit more, maybe let a little kindness show
I got my sails out...and I’m waiting for the winds to blow.
I got my sails out...and I’m waiting for the winds to blow.

ANGST

Could this infused intrusion

 Just be an Optical Illusion?

What goes up must come down.

The people are dragged all around.

What would the Bible say;

Take the time ; Search today!

Untitled #105 / Washington midnight

On a Washington midnight thirteen bug-eating bats
descend upon the Air Force Memorial spotlights
drawn to swarms of their favorite insect dinners.
What a spectacular sight! Wings of evil crowding ‘round the spires!
But they cannot compare with the other species of bloodsuckers!

ETERNAL CUDDLE

To become or not to become a renegade,
or to die or not to die for a semi-god ?
These were some of the questions
thrown at an incomplete script.

What elevated you to a celebrity ?
Your hump or deep wrinkled groans ?
Age is abating, abattoir is empty.
Exile from the past is over.
When you intend to comeback to childhood
and become a simple star ?

Behind the mask lies the embrace of death
I am afraid the flames will engulf,
the genius of pathways.
Everything into turn with obsolete gossip.
A patch of sunlight becomes a costly exposure
Bones are entwined in eternal cuddle.

O, People of this World

O, such as we were, people of this world, we unveiled ourselves
In black and white---yesterday or today, it doesn’t matter;
The beauty of poetry is many voices of the heart.

Our land is so rich of priceless arts, so as our mind, but still---
The land we know now is not really the land we’ve known before,
O, such as she was once, such as some wouldn’t like her to be.
