Winter Whispers

Walking on her oceans of white
Frozen tears from sky unite
Reflections of Autumn's death remiss
As beautiful nightmares become abyss
Dreams of feathers cease to sing
Of geese that vanished with Autumn's wings
Wilted smiles of little flowers
Bent in vases as fallen towers
The memories that fade throughout the age
Has frostbitten the skies of winter sage
With lifetime whispers that never part
That winter still lingers in my heart.

Winter Rose

Beneath my mantle of pure white snow
	        I lay, a perfect rose
My cloak of snow protects my beauty,
        	My life and my essence
	      As winter rages above me,
I am safe and warm, from my cloak of snow
	         I am preserved
I will emerge into the sunlight
           Through the melting snow
I will emerge into the warm moist dew
The warm sunlight dries my petals
              My petals are perfect
	        My color is brilliant
My stem is taught and straight
          My essence long and lingering
I am a beauty of nature
I am a symbol of love, beauty and caring
	       I am the Winter Rose

The Snowfall

Icicles hang on trees
Glittering in the sun
Reflecting clear images
Of the snow below
Snow and frost
Consume the ground below
Pure and white
A blank slate
A soft wind blows
Stirring around
Little white tornados
Swirling endlessly
Clouds darken the sky
Blown in on trendals of wind
Pieces fall from the sky
A new layer on the snow

Christmas Is Magical

Christmas is a magical time
a time for love and joy
where even in wars there is piece
between the men and women deployed

Children laugh with parents
around a green tree
everyone is together
as it should always be

snow falls on the ground
leaving everything in a blanket of white
icicles hanging from roof tops
it's such a glorius sight

Christmas is a magical time
for every boy and girl
it's a time for great happiness
and joy throughout the world

Beauty

                                                  The sky dreary
I guess some would call it scary
                                              I think it's beautiful
                                                    In its own way
                                         Watching the light fade away
                                           Empty tree branches sway
                                                 Whispering to stay
                                                       Cold chill
                                                      Sits so still
There's a peace in the cold
                                                   Standing there
                                                  Watching it hold
                                               It doesn't lack beauty
                                                   If you truly see
                                                The beauty gleams
                                                    In everything

Snow Globe

It seems like forever ago
That I jumped for joy at the first snow
The billowy mounds shining low
Glistening like diamonds on paved roads

As pure as a small child's heart
All that's evil, still in the dark

Making forts and angels and setting up the tree
Wearing so many layers that I couldn't breathe
Sleepless nights, waiting for Santa on Christmas Eve
How I long for that child, so innocent and free

A time when smiles weren't forced
No desires of anything more

Clinging to my childhood
And fogging up the glass
Looking through this snow globe
That resides old winters passed
Just a shake and a smile breaks free
I'm gazing in, but I'll never be inside...
My younger self stares back, scared of what he sees
Melting are the angels I've left behind

I'm cuddled in the blankets
Listening to 'Let It Snow'
But it makes no difference
It's out of my control

I'll put on a face, like I do
This gingerbread cookie
Gumdrop clothes to cover up
A hole where my heart should be

Walking through dirty streets
That look pretty in white
Bearing a blue and battered heart
That's hard to hide, the snow's too bright

The wife took the kids
Right when I thought things were good
I guess it's my fault
But I did the best I could

My present world is torn asunder
The past isn't real, but it feels better

Clinging to my childhood
And fogging up the glass
Looking through this snow globe
That resides old winters passed
Just a shake and a smile breaks free
I'm gazing in, but I'll never be inside...
My younger self stares back, scared of what he sees
Melting are the angels I've left behind

I bought myself a snow globe
The house inside
Looked just like mine
As it took me back to better days
Where all you could hear was that simple phrase

I needed something I could hold
To take me someplace else
Maybe help me find myself
Home feels the same
It's me that's changed

Ride The Wind

Written February 24, 2012

One too many times
Our love has been unkind
To the rigors and chills of the snow
The streets they meet
Intersecting the heat
But the cold will blow without heed

To rekindle the flame
Must sound quite insane
But it's all I have left in this world
Yet to feed from the hand
Of another's demands
Could lead to the start of the fall

Ride the wind
Wherever it goes
Don't ask it questions
You don't want to know
The wind will carry you home

In My Dreams

In my dreams

I’m still in my dreams
Walking along the streams
The way looks so dangerous
Its stories were so famous
But I’m still in my dreams

I don’t know where I’m going
Just know going to be ruined
I have not control on my mind
Summer is not so fine
But I’m still in my dreams

I saw a shadow looks terrible
Structure is not so visible
I make my steps towards shadow
My feet going to be swallow
But I’m still in my dreams

Weather becomes cool
Shadow is making me fool
I am a little afraid
I think my life has been paid
But I’m still in my dreams

I see a dead body
Where was nobody
This I’m not ready to face
I have to get out of this place
But I’m still in my dreams

Of A Still Winter's Morn

In stillness of a winter morn, A carriage passed me by, Treading a path old and worn, Upon it's wheels sore and dry; The air about had a listlessness, I heard no other noise Than the passing hooves of a steed, And my inner voice... No birds in trees about that house Whose porch I sat-in, ever spoke Early in that break of dawn, So I looked when the silence broke: A little distance away, and it Crawled to an awkward halt; The horse, giving a plunge in the air, Jerked and fumed in water and salt. Out came a lady old-- Worn as the wearied wheel-- Followed by the silken robes Of a beauty most surreal. In all youth then, i never saw A maiden so fair and pure; I watched in awe as the women both, Approached at my door. In ecstasy beheld my heart The temple of this Moon Shrouded by her hair, like night Working up a rune. Smiling, bowing graciously Like simmering warmth in the cold, She spoke to ask which way led To the house of(a name she told)... Still in awe, I arranged for chairs For my visitors to sit; Over cheerful cups of tea, I told what place was it. And before, they took my leave, I thought i had to say, ''Do stop-by this place Once more on thy way'': Those eyes passed a lively glance, As if to say, ''I will'', She finally left on her way And left me standing still... Bright was the day, and the next ones too-- I rested for the Dame: Spring and summer, winter came But she never came...

celsius

Fallen snow will remind of me/ it is snowing ...
Slowly as in the dream/
Boy word-beads/ with signs on his spine/
He kisses fine/
Your eyelids /

And it snows ... It snows /so slow/
It does/ and you're thinking of me/
'Coz it's warm/ it's better to stay in warmth/
Waiting for summer dim/
It is snowing/ slowly like in the dream/
Flakes/ go round/ playing the music theme/
You've been looking for rescue/
You searched in wine/
But it's in me/
all the rescues are mine/
It is snowing/ the snow is fluffy and white/
If you see darkness/ I'm deaf and blind/
there's the cast of time/ on the arm/
But I discern the light/
Dreams/ upon your eyelids tips/
Prepare you for winter drowse/
And it snows/

Fallen snow/ will remind of spring /
it will crumble and crackle in vain/
It will snow / fluffy /white/ and slow/
And you'll become whole/

Snow From God

snow falls lightly
from the sky up above
soflty falling down
like the feather of a dove

each snow flake is different
like each one of us
falling to the ground
like snow often does

it's steals away breath
this brilliant thing
so pure and refreshing
like the songs angels sing

they sing for remembrance
of God and his sun
throwing down these white tokens
to say winter has begun

white is for birth
the birth of baby christ
white is for hope
that things are alright

each flake that falls
from the sky up above
is a gift from God
telling us we are loved

Frozen

Ice rains down from the heavens tonight,
Frozen tears cut through the air.
Smooth solid sheets of glass, I lost sight,
Were you even really there?
Shattering like spiderwebs, beneath me broken,
Rage, the storm, badly batters,
The pounding of the pain has spoken,
Crystal clear the heart cracks, it shatters.

Where has the light gone, everything is blue.
I search for answers, I search the truth for you.
Don't freeze me out, let me in, warm my soul.,
The ice is beating me down, taking its tortured toll.
These aching fingers can no longer hold its grip.
From you now, I fumble, like a feather falling, I slip.

Tears rain down from heaven tonight.
Frozen memories in the air.
Shattered mirrors of glass, I have no sight,
You were never really there.
Red eyed crying, my heart bleeds until empty,
Cold, the ice, beyond repair.
There is the death of the light within me.
I invited you in, frozen tears are never fair.

There is no way to survive this frozen fight.
Death rains down from heaven tonight

Wizard

                                                              Wizard

I watch as the rays of the Silvery moon drape their silhouette over , The edge of the soft bed. The air blows in from the chilly northern wind outside my window pane. The Earth is quiet and still, The muffled sound of a near by pond frog, can be heard. And offers peace unto the sleepy eyed Earth. The quietness slipping further and further into complete silence. The trees seem to pause in between their, dancing swaying leaves. They are frightened from the darkness that is creeping in. The Earth will not deny it. Winter will soon dwell in the its surrounding. Small snowflakes dance in the distance above the high Mountains. White will foil the entire hillside, and sparkle like glitter when the moon, brings light. The soft winter mix, will soon pillow the entire Earth. The snow flakes dance and twirl, and land on the arms of the shivery trees, they will cradle the white wetness. The earth is now fast asleep, and The whiteness will soon cover the entire Sleepy eyed Earth.

Dead Winter: Repost

It's zero degrees in this desolate land,
Frostbite over freeze, I can barely stand.
I hear laughter and cries as I look left then right;
There is no one in sight on this dead winter night.

The darkness has fallen like a cascading avalanche;
The few trees I see are barren, with no leaf on any branch.
I heard footsteps behind me, yet I stand alone;
Would anyone find me, or am I on my own?

There is no phone, no gas station for miles around,
Just this one winding dirt road and snow upon the ground.
I cry out for help and there still is no answer;
Can I make it out alive from this creepy nightmare?

So fear stricken I begin to run frantic;
I fall upon my face with frozen tears as I panic!
I just want to scream out loud and lift my voice in anguish;
Why me!? Why now!? I'm just ready to end this....

Darkest Winter

Crystal silence of a frigid night
And I walk alone.
I breathe the scent of bitter cold,
Lonely in the snow.

Whispers linger in the frozen air,
Just waiting for the dawn.
Father Time has gone to sleep
And I cannot move on.

Oh, darkest winter in my soul!
You cannot hold me here.
Tantalizing Crystalline –
A million frozen tears.

Oh, darkest winter in my heart,
More beautiful than spring.
Glittering Temptations, but –
True love, you’ll never bring.

not white but blue

Snow on the ground
Of a beautiful heu
A pure inviting colour
Of not white but blue

A very light blue
Pail and bright
Turning darker
During the night

Shadowy patches
Inside each indent
A place for many winter hours
To be pleasantly spent

the God Head

The things you do when you are down
You only do when you are down
I know this because I’m still around
Thirsty but I’m no hound
So please hound me not
Or I will beg on you
for all that you have forgot
I was there
when hope scraped her precious knees
Attempting to keep it peacefully
For broken men in need of thee
And now you all question me
It’s pointless
Your infatuation,
It blurs me not
It’s still dark and hell is ever so hot

I was you
Now you don’t know who I am
Like god
I was you
Now you don’t know who I am
Like god

Twenty-five and dying for change
In an interlude of constant pain
That’s a moment in time
Constrained in vain
Realized there was no tomorrow When
Hope scraped her precious knees
And the devil preferred her woven fleece
Trying to keep it peacefully
I’ve seen harlots lay a widow’s seed
For broken men in winter pillars
Seen fatherless children stained by rain
But I adored the way that autumn came
As venom escaped from her veins
The things we do when we are down
We do only because we are down
I know this all because
Tomorrow came and I was still around

I was you
Now you don’t know who I am
Like god
I was you
Now you don’t know who I am
Like god

Hope scraped her precious knees
Trying to keep it peacefully
Seen harlots lay widows seed
For broken men in a winter freeze
Like God
Hope scraped her precious knees
Trying to keep it peacefully
Seen harlots lay widows seed
For broken men in a winter freeze
Like God

"Life you were so beautiful, I miss you"

Cold Season

Cold Season…

I feel the winter calling
The cold season blowing on the wind
I want to send my spirit soaring
But it doesn’t know where to begin

I watch the leaves as they’re falling
Changing colors I watch them twist and turn
Turning to the ground, I’m gazing back into the sky
To feel the frost; just as fire, burn…

I feel the winter calling
The cold season blowing on the wind
To me it seems the clouds are falling
And I’m wondering where I fit in

I see life through a picture window
Unpainted glass covering the expanse of the frame
My unobstructed view of the trees bending in the wind
Wondering if the view will ever change
Or if it will ever be the same again…

I feel the winter calling
The cold season blowing on the wind
I want to send my spirit soaring
But frozen, it doesn’t know where to begin…

Bloodfelt

Prickly winter sunshine dope,
Seems the water has drowned the ice
That had shaped the curse so long,
Like the truffle creame,
Painting lives with blood, despair
Robust tears like storms..
Washing the clay away,
Off the face of reality,
Ruby pearls rolling down
My thorny throat,
That had gone astray,
In the guts, imprisoned my naive soul
Sings the freedom song,
My eyes look up at the dark blue sky
Images traced up in the mind,
I see the face, that i had hurt,
And the thorn grows a bit more,
The tunes are heavenly, morose
Blinds the childish ears..
As I retreat to my unholy shell,
And silence had spoken on my behalf,
Th face I had hurt is wild with words.
The thorn grows a bit more,
Piercing my throat,
Rolling down were the ruby pearls..
That breathed in the winter sunshine again,
I did cry,
But the last song of my soul,
Blinded the ears.

and I will come

…and I will come.
When the first snow falls down/
when the fall gives its rights/
to the winter/
you know I will come/
for good or for bad/
I’ll board the train/
Passing by / stations/ and countries/
I promised/ and I remember/
You said “there’s no fortuitous meetings/

…and I will come.
When the first snow falls down/
When you’ll lose the trace/
When my firmest snickers/ wipe out/
I will/ I will come…
Unexpectedly/ knowing solely the door/
Just the road / for sure/
Before/ take you I’ll ask/
“are you ready to go?” /
You are ready/ I know/
All the noise doesn’t matter/
I don’t haste/ will be later/

…I will come.
When it finally turns out/
That November is overthrown by December/
When the first snow falls down/
Will be clear/ that nobody is remembered/

And I will come…
Somewhere in chest/ between ribs/
You slashed me/ with thoughts/
I can feel it with lips/ crawling under my cloths/
Our world is alive/ our life/ we’re alike/
And I….

I will come.
When the first snow falls down/
When the death is changed into fate/
When the winter gives up/
To wait/ for spring/
to stay with shining sun/
I will come.

My Winter Wedding Dream

He looks at me
in his suit of white
with that calm smile upon his face
he is a marvelous sight

people all around me look
but their faces I can't see
in this winter wonderland
he's the only one for me

I almost run toward him
with excitment my cheeks warm
except my father's right beside me
holding tightly on my arm

upon arriving at the alter
I pull a white rose from my bouqet
then I lean toward my father
and as I place the rose I say

"Daddy it's okay now
you can let go of my arm
with this man here beside me
I will not come to any harm"

a smile spreads across his face
but there's tears within his eyes
as he gives me to the man I love
afterward he replies

"I know you'll be okay
but I'll be here anyway
if you ever need any help
just call me night or day"

with that he turns away
and takes a seat below
then I turn to the man
who's face is all aglow

looking at this man's face
I feel as if in a dream
with all these emotions in my head
I don't know whether to laugh or scream

with a laugh I say I do
somthing in his eyes glow
then after a kiss that ends to soon
my HUSBAND and I turn to go

outside the church the sun shines bright
such a glorious sight to see
but in this winter wonderland
he's the only one for me

Silver dots

There are holes in the elbows
Of your winter jacket
Holes in the collar
And holes in the pocket
Can’t keep anything there
Just hold out hope
For some summer air
And the summer stitches
Which it brings
To fix the holes
In your winter skin

You can look at the stars all you like darling
They’re still silver dots in the sky
And you can ask me again
Why they’re not made of diamonds
But I’m sorry, I still don’t know why
I don’t know why

There are holes in your jeans
And there are holes in your excuses
And I can see right through
To your sun shaped your bruises
There are holes in your make-up
And I can see that you care
But you just hold out for some summer air
And the summer stitches
Which it brings
To fix the holes
In your winter skin

You can look at the stars all you like darling
They’re still silver dots in the sky
And you can ask me again
Why they’re not made of diamonds
But I’m sorry, I still don’t know why
I don’t know why

Autumn's Arms

Written November 17, 2013

The summer dies slowly
Into autumns arms
And winter does linger
Until spring breathes at dawn
I've fallen for you
Cast under your spell
My gaze as stone
As the old towne well
My face as pale
As the moon in the night sky
My heart unspoken
Left wondering why
These days are so chaotic
Yet these nights so serene

Silence

Frozen . Senseless . Numb .
in the nothingness
that surrounds me ,
no heart could beat ,
no voice be heard ,
no song be sung ,
a million miles from here it occurred .
i have seen the place of beauty ,
have lived in those days ,
i have seen the voices change,
everything changed .

Its cold to remember,
the chilly december,
when feelings froze in time ,
Its hard to find ,
them back inside ,
and come back like a shining dime.

People change ,world moves,
life becomes a memory ,
time flies , people rise ,
I find myself in a similar quandary.

There's million thoughts running ,
through my head right now,
but this sheet just lie there blank,
somehow.

So i lay here ,
Frozen , Senseless , Numb,
with no fear of Death,
the pain that held my heart ,
for too long,
was starting to fade away ,
and now ,
of all those curses they whispered,
silence-- silence is what i heard.

My daughter the dancing bear.

Closed in her room listening to jerry’s band
Kelly traveled in mind we fought to understand
Wishing for the beach or dancing on a stage
The bear beckoned her to run at a young age
Sixteen for real but older she would feel
Growing up on the road is no big deal

Gone one night never looking back
To catch the dancing bus and vanish from site
Arrive at the show no ticket in hand
To get miracled in to the fantasy land
Getting high on music and feeling as one
back on the road again with the morning sun
The family grows as the shows go by
Little do they know their families that cry

Setting up camp in a field by night
Washing in a pond would be allright
peanut butter sandwich’s or the stew of the day
Whatever it took to find the way
Pack up the bus and join the caravan
getting to the next show with pennies in hand
Only a true deadhead could survive this life
music and dancing bears shimmering at night

The dead family on tour from coast to coast
Never calling or writing those who love most
The ones left behind wonder what have I done
Is she alive or entered heavens kingdom
Someday she’ll feel what we’ve been under
afraid calling home will start the thunder
As we sit at home and keep our lives normal
The deadheads like life a little less formal

One day a call of a baby bear dancing our way
He is Winter miles a true miracle of this day
miles on miles during the winter season
Make his name unique for that reason
The music and freedom flow deep inside
A baby bears birth makes it hard to hide

Finally home but never sitting for long
Our traveler Kelly still lives by the song
Still living in the past and no bus to ride
She paints her body with scenes of pride
The fun and music they made a lifestyle
Will effect us all for quite a while
Know there’s others to continue the trek
While we try to get our lives back.

A Melancholic Blaze

The wolves race through the woods...
A melancholic night breathing...
The moon weeping its elegant light...
As I drown in the lake of uncertainty...

A prodigious night...
Procreating melancholy...
A deceiver at command...
Portraying images of the divine...

The nature decaying to the bizarre setting...
As the wolves howl at the night’s mystical descend...
And as my heart cries a disheartening reverie...
The river turns venomous at the cheerless call...

The wolves pursue the divine call...
The eerie wind deceives their ears...
Far ahead I see a shadow of the pure...
But as I approach...the shadow is razed by the prevalent obscurity...

The winter birds seem to be early...
Nesting in the putrefied tree...
The venomous river appears frozen...
As a chilling breeze stings the heart...

A prodigious night...
Procreating melancholy...
A deceiver at command...
Portraying images of the divine...

The last few hopes seem to deaden...
As a cloud seems to darken the elegant moon...
And the heart craves for her warmth...
As the flowers anticipate the monsoon...

Why is it that her radiant shadows appear?
When illumination ceases to exist...
A bird rests on my shoulder...
And sings mantras of eternal hope...
An assurance of support...
And guidance...as the melancholic night descends...

The wolves howl to the infinite sky...
...And the lamentation of a lost soul...
Overpowered by their howls...
As the melancholic fire burns on...

The lamentation of a lost soul...
Forever lost...

...And as I close my eyes...
The setting transforms to “heaven”
Where flowers are vivacious...
...And nature rejoicing the start of spring...
...As I lay in her arms...
The panorama vivid as ever...

A panorama...
That subsists within the broken heart...
And a last few dead branches...
The winter bird collects to complete its nest...

And now all is at rest...
Silence is what subsists eternally...
The lamentation of a torn heart
Ever so callous...

...As he putrefies eternally...
...In a Melancholic Blaze...

I'm Out Of Love Again

I only like the young ones the beautiful and tall the brunettes or the redheads, or the bleach blonde Barbie doll head over heels in love again and I spin into a daze but love can’t last forever, ‘cause we got too different ways I get bored way too easy no woman loves me long it’s incompatibility and sad to be alone it’s just the natural way if things, these matters of the heart and with all my insecurities it always falls apart (chorus) and tonight once more, I’m out of love again back out in the cold cold night with that familiar icy wind summer days are memories and winter’s just stormed in and tonight once more, I’m out of love again I only like the young ones, the beautiful and tall If they’ve got it all together, it’s for sure I’m gonna fall Where there’s spark there’s fire, it burns up in a blaze But love can’t last forever, ‘cause we got too different ways (chorus) and tonight once more, I’m out of love again back out in the cold cold night with that familiar icy wind summer days are memories and winter’s just stormed in and tonight once more, I’m out of love again I get bored way too easy, no woman loves me long it’s incompatibility and sad to be alone so as I travel down this road I sing my sad love song I’ll keep rollin’ town to town, ‘til this road finds me a home (chorus) and tonight once more, I’m out of love again back out in the cold cold night with that familiar icy wind summer days are memories and winter’s just stormed in and tonight once more, I’m out of love again (repeat chorus),/center>

March

The footfall of March comes whistling by,
Wrapped in the hope that winter will die;
But the winds of winter still coldly blow,
Bringing the harvest of leftover snow.

The birds from south wing their way home,
From faraway places where feathered wings roam;
Pregnant with the breathless feelings that bring,
Promises of hope in the womb of Spring.

The bright days of Eden are almost here,
Blossoms that are sleeping will soon appear;
But only the snowdrop lifts her brave little head,
From a cold dank earth and lonely bed.

But the skies of grey are turning blue,
And the days grow longer and storms are few;
Earth has joys to bring in her arms,
As the birth of Spring brings in all of her charms.

Seasonal Change (Angel of Sadness)

As my soul dwells in your past
I kill for this moment to pass
Al though I smile
I find myself more and more suppressed
As if, your casket was buried in my chest

Yes, I breathe
For I believe
I am promised to leave

And I hate the winter
All the days of September
I hate the center of a broad frost December

And as the night expires
My fright assumes your desires
I feel I am not the child I used to be
The privilege of this substance abuses me
I hate to be the selfish man I have become
But as if it were fate
Sadness reigns past noon for some

I hate the winter
All the days of September
I hate the center of a broad frost December

Rain

The harshness of winter has finally past.
Springtime is upon us finally at last.
No more dulldrums of winter to tax my brain, and the season I love the best
espically the rain.

I could sit and watch as the flowers and the trees flurish and bloom,
and I know that because of natures miracles all the colors will be out soon.

Finally I love to walk out ,and look up,and feel the rain trickle on my face,
take off my shoes and socks and jump from puddle to puddle all ove the place.

But at last all good things must come to an end. The sun is coming out and
gone is the rain, my friend.
As I sit on the porch with the sun glistening in my eyes, I cant help but wonder
how long before the next storm comes by.

My Winter Wonder land

To The Tune of Winter Wonderland

Sleigh bells ring,
Are you in the way?
Yes you are, GOT you with my sleigh.
OH what a sight,
I’m happy tonight
dodging in a winter wonder land.

Gone away is the Blue bird,
Here to stay is a new bird.
And he still flies low,
When he has to go,
walking in a winter wonderland.

In the meadow we can build a snow man,
And pretend that he is Parson Brown,
He’ll say “are you married.”
I’ll say “Hell No!
I’d rather be tarred and feathered and run out of town!”

Later on we’ll perspire,
As we sit to close to the fire.
The rooms nice and hot,
But fellow your not,
So go walking in a winter wonderland

October In the Air

With colors changing as winter is in route
The trees stand proud as their leaves
Take on a whole new meaning
Knowingly possessing the power
To capture my being.

This time of year is for all to see
It is a time for new life to be born
As winter is about to be freed
Slowly it greets us with each new morn.

The leaves must change
Their colors blending so
Oranges, golds and browns
Oh such a sight to behold.

Enjoy them now
For toworrow they may be gone
They won't last forever
Not like the words of a song.

Try viewing them with a loved one
Enjoy all they have to give
Breathe deeply as you look upon them
How many colors do you see?

If by chance you are here next year
When again they display
Their beauty for all to see
Will you still have your loved one
There with you
Or will you have to enjoy
Their beauty alone
And through a blinded tear.

october's pretence

October’s Pretence.
Rain, nature is greening, but it’s a false spring; December will
pale the land into submission. Do not write poetry till February,
when almond trees blossom and strew petals about in protest
thinking winter takes the season of its sinister drama too far.
Last winter snow fell, a wonder land; people said they had not
seen snow for forty seven years. The stream is xanthous I think
of China’s main river where dolphins, not seen for years, swim
in cloudy water. What can’t be seen cannot be caught by man.
Dawn, on the track a boar, sniffed the air and grunted; a hairy,
pig in need of a pair of glasses. I moved and it disappeared into
the brushwood. On nature walks I used to take a camera, but
wild animals hate having their photo taken and avoided my
intrusive lens I was left with taking photos of trees, weeds and
evergreen bushes. My lazy dreaminess has paid off I have had
a good life no one ever expected anything glorious of me, and
left me in peace. If you look for me I will be on a bus trying to
find the fabulous castle; I once saw when I could see the future.

The Winter Palace (a song lyric)

I put my fingers on the pulse,
And there's nothing to be found,
Just the silence of the night,
No more rhythm, no more sound,
But if you let me take you home
I'll be glad to hang around.

The Winter Palace is a place of dreams,
A hundred thousand possibilities,
When the daylight breaks beyond the trees,
We're on the outside,
We're on the outside once again.

I couldn't help but notice you,
Standing just outside the door,
Crying softly to yourself,
Tearful eyes fixed on the floor,
But if you'd only let me in
I could give you so much more.

The Winter Palace is a place of dreams,
A hundred thousand possibilities,
When the daylight breaks beyond the trees,
We're on the outside,
We're on the outside once again.

Lifestyles of the lost and lonely
Are not reserved for us two only,
So many people on their own,
But we don't need to be alone.

I put my fingers on the pulse,
And there's nothing to be found,
Just the silence of the night,
No more rhythm, no more sound,
But if you let me take you home
I'll be glad to hang around.

The Winter Palace is a place of dreams,
A hundred thousand possibilities,
When the daylight breaks beyond the trees,
We're on the outside,
We're on the outside once again.

Winter Rose

The cold is coming on
the wind is moaning high above
the frozen days are long,
let's build a fire, my love

When winter's gone
will you still keep me warm?
When dark skies clear,
will you leave with the storm?

Outside, our noses freeze
a chill comes whistling through
in drifts up to our knees,
hot when I look at you

When winter's gone,
will you still linger on?
As spring arrives then
where will you be found?

The snow floats gently down
each white lace flake unique
There's no one else around
and we've no need to speak

The sky holds icy stars
that gleam against the crystal blue
the city lights are far
and I'm closer to you

When winter's gone,
will memories stay long?
When icy streams thaw,
will I be alone?

Walking In My Winter Underwear

a parody on song "Winter Wonderland"- inspired by my winter alone in an
unheated house.

"Come away, I am threadbare
Snow is falling....
Where there' be hair..

A cold-as_sed dam_ night
It's really a fright
Walkin' in my winter underwear..

Butt-cheeks gleaming
Through the holes, near the seaming
A nasty cold a_s,
My skin is blue cast
Walkin' in my winter underwear..

In the meadow we can make a snowman
And pretend that he's an EMS
He'll say- "sonny is that really you?"
Or did someone paint you a_s blue?

Later on, I'll perspire
When I light...
My a_s on fire....

It burns so that way
I'm happy so say
Walkin' in my winter underwear...."

Four Kinds of Lonely

There’re four kinds of lonely, and I know them all,
One of them’s summer, and one of them’s fall,
One of them’s winter, and one of them’s spring—
There’re four kinds of lonely, to each one I sing.

In spring-time I think of that year when we met,
In summer I think how you hadn’t left yet,
In autumn I think how you left like the leaves,
In winter I hear you when wind hits the eaves.

In spring-time I look at those flowers you grew,
In summer I walk through the woods we once knew,
In autumn I miss you, and I always will,
In winter I stand by your stone in the chill.

Winter Pleasures

The trees are bare, now comes cold air
The breezes howl this night
I’m toasty warm, secured by charm
As we hold each other tight

This winter evening…
As the sun descends…
The moon is smiling…
No love pretends…
It’s all for real, dear…
As we stay inside…
The winter frowns…
While in here, we hide…

Our winter pleasures…
Are year round dreams…
When come the fires…
With snow filled scenes…
We’ll feel the softness…
As our hands embrace…
Reflecting fires, bright…
With red cheeked face…

Winter winds chasing, while love’s erasing
The many sounds we hear
We’re holding so tight, by the fire this night
As our bodies stay so near

Old mister winter…
Turn away from our door…
For we won’t answer…
We won’t give you more…
The room is ignited…
By this fire inside…
On this winter evening…
In here, we’ll hide…

Everything is Jolly

Everything is jolly
As we string the walls {with lights}
And frolic in the snow
Everything is jolly
As we deck the halls {tonight}
With holly and mistletoe (Chorus)

Oh, out in the snow
Along the sides of our little house
As the winter sun glowed
I put up the lights with my spouse
Then she said, "There he goes"
As I climbed to the top of the tree
To cut the mistletoe
She gathered it and sung along with me

(Chorus)

Oh, out in the snow
Along the sides of our little house
As the noon sun glowed
We trimmed the holly to make boughs
Then we took some old clothes
And put them on our frosty man
She laughed and began to throw
Balls of snow and around the yard she ran

As I gave chase
We fell with sweet expressions
In that place
Made two angel impressions
Then hand in hand
We kissed like happy Eskimos
Then from this winter wonderland
We went inside to warm our toes

(Chorus)

Oh, under the mistletoe
Surrounded by holly in our little house
As the Christmas tree glowed
I sat at the table with my child and spouse
With a centerpiece, a rose
We thanked the Reason for the Season above
For food, shelter and clothes
Because better is a little than a lot without love

Dedicated to Chrissy

Fiona's Song

Slow my heart as autumn is coming
and I'm crossing the street just to meet you.
Your eyes never end in green and in glass,
and the ring on your finger is heavy and new.
The sky is just the right contrast of colors
to frame you under the still burning leaves
I'm hoping you're humming my favorite song
while under your breath my lost harmony frees

Souls locked and leaning like the trees scolding winter
with our arms intertwined and immersed
in the rhythm of the gait of our bundled up feet
still finishing one another's thoughts unrehearsed
When does the artist become her lost song?
You're feeling dark and I now feel it too,
but we'll sort out the details in the still brilliant air
and leave the remains for the winter to sort through

Your voice will always be steady to me
and I know that I'll find you if lost
The winter is known for it's soulless kidnapping
while deep in anxiety we crackle with frost
So let's relish this moment of purity breathing
Let's wish like the sky isn't raining with leaves
For one more fine moment the sunshine is shining
and it's there for the taking for the one who believes...
