The Stone

The Tale below was carved one night,
Upon the Stone, by candlelight
...most won’t believe, but some just might
.........most won’t believe, but some just might

. Preface

Well James made Beth his lovely bride
(And angels smiled, though teary eyed)
...their bodies bound, their spirits tied
.........their bodies bound, their spirits tied

Upon her hand, a shimmer shone,
As bright as blood, a ruby Stone
...and brighter still, as love had grown
.........and brighter still, as love had grown

Soon James was sent to man a sail
So Beth removed her wedding veil
...her eyes were bright, her face was pale
.........her eyes were bright, her face was pale

“Well, I’ll be here when you return”
Said Beth to James, who kissed in turn
...a kiss that made her body burn
.........a kiss that made her body burn

. BETH’S TALE

1. The Dream
One night, within a dream deformed,
The cawing of a Crow informed
“...a Ship was stripped where winter stormed
.........a Ship was stripped where winter stormed

Midst winds and waves the thunder boomed
The Ship of Death was surely doomed
...the sea engulfed, the sea entombed
.........the sea engulfed, the sea entombed

Your James... denied by Davy Jones!
His spirit gone, his flesh and bones
...are resting now amongst the Stones
.........are resting now amongst the Stones”

2. The Quest

Awoken by the ebon Wight
And beckoned by the baneful bight
...I left before the morning light
.........I left before the morning light

Throughout the realm I rode a roan
Until, in time, I reached the Stone
...where shades and dreams in darkness groan
.........where shades and dreams in darkness groan

While skipping up and down the sky
A missing moonbeam mocked my eye
...enough to make a Swallow cry
.........enough to make a Swallow cry

For someone stole a star or two
And something else that fate withdrew –
...my jewel of joy, my James Bijou
.........my jewel of joy, my James Bijou

The shadows of the evening swelled
Where demons of the dusk had dwelled
...and in the far, a vesper knelled
.........and in the far, a vesper knelled

The Stone, beneath the sky, stood cold –
Between the runes, a vapour strolled
...a cloak of fleecy fog consoled
.........a cloak of fleecy fog consoled

A Raven on a branch, enthroned,
Her wings waved once, a wail intoned
...beyond the bay, a banshee moaned
.........beyond the bay, a banshee moaned

I lay beside the Stone, his bride
I lay beside the Stone and cried
...but were it I, instead, that died
.........but were it I, instead, that died

The rainbow of the moon fell dim
A midnight Swan soon ceased to swim
...as if to hide all hint of him
.........as if to hide all hint of him

Between the willows in the swale
There sang a Bird, a Nightingale
...which left me faint and feeling frail
.........which left me faint and feeling frail

3. Contact

I felt him breathe within a breeze
Responding to my anguished pleas
...and leaves blew by abandoned trees
.........and leaves blew by abandoned trees

“I miss you too, my darling Beth”
Re-echoed from the Ship of Death
...the future buried in a breath
.........the future buried in a breath

The Stone lit up a ruby sheen
And clouds were kindled crystalline
...with consequences, unforeseen
.........with consequences, unforeseen

Above, the wretched Raven soared
To where the Ship of Death lay moored
...beneath, the icy ocean roared
.........beneath, the icy ocean roared

4. Release

I’m joined with James beneath the Stone,
Though to the Ship my spirit’s flown,
...for nevermore to be alone
.........for nevermore to be alone

. Epilogue

That night the wayward winds were weird
The Ship of Death had disappeared
...coyotes called and mortals feared
.........coyotes called and mortals feared

At dusk, the craven shadows crawled
At dawn, the winds of mourning called
...upon the Stone two names were scrawled
.........upon the Stone two names were scrawled

The Raven sits, with wings outspread,
Atop the Stone which shades the dead
...it sometimes shimmers ruby red
.........it sometimes shimmers ruby red

. Epitaph

Between the sounds, where silence seeps,
Their love lives on and never sleeps
...and yet, the weeping willow weeps
.........and yet, the weeping willow weeps

Wonders of Winter

Look up! Snowflakes appear in streetlights
Hear children cheer as snow days are announced
Watch the powder fly during snowball fights
Listen as faith through joyful hymns is pronounced
Join snow angel brigades while on wintery landscapes we pounce

Walk briskly with me through the winter woods
Where boughs of evergreens droop with white frost
Don your boots and pull up your jacket hood
Let’s slide on the lake until our energies exhaust
Then trudge back home as snow drifts are crossed

Place damp clothes on a chair by the fireside
Pour a glass of wine and snuggle with me
Whispers of passion, ‘neath a blanket confide
Lights from the fir tree fill our hearts with glee
As you offer me your ring on bended knee

Through the Winter Cold he Rode

By the moonlight, night's pearly softness glowed,
In  their  slumber  deep,  fog  skirted  knolls  shoaled;
Through the winter cold, clipp'ty clop he rode.

Down the twisted alleys and to highroad,
Flew  out  in  wind  his  fluttering  hair  gold;
By the moonlight, night's pearly softness glowed.

In the silence bare as the mist bellowed
O'er  the  turrets  enshrouded  in  their  fold;
Through the winter cold, clipp'ty clop he rode.

His shadow tossed on the water that flowed,
As  galloped  o'er  the  bridge, ' twixt  moorlands  old;
By the moonlight, night's pearly softness glowed.

Meet his bonnie lassie her chin furrowed
'neath  her  cherry  lips  in  his  hands  to  hold;
Through the winter cold, clipp'ty clop he rode.

Her dark eyes under green eaves that mellowed,
Where blushes of their love in whispers told
By  the  moonlight,  night's  pearly  softness  glowed;
Through the winter cold, clipp'ty clop he rode.

The Task

The old screen door still welcomes me
.. a familiar face, just as before
but after this...who'll pass this way?….
Will they use the rug and wipe their shoes?...
Swipe away the grime and mud?
 .....Or will they even care?

I feel my pulse and lungs collide
I take a breath...and step inside

She lived alone, the last to go....
one amber dawn when skies were clear
silently, without fanfare....
death wafted through these hard wood floors
and took more than a glimpse of her

I've been asked to sell the house,
to clear it out, and set it right…

Somehow, seems wrong….
a trespass on the throne of life
that was softly lived
behind the gate, where thirsty roses bloom, and wait…

I hesitate….
to disturb the lace on drop leaf tables…
disgrace the quiet of the gloom
open drawers, snoop and sort, ….a pruning,
of the good, the used, from worn and torn

My hands are able, but my heart declines..
what isn’t mine, to toss, to find, to mark, and label…

I hear the echoes, in each room…
along with swishings of my broom…
and the dust motes in the window light
like glitter in the afternoon…
reminders of old sparks ingnited
where cozy logs had offered light
keeping her last nights warm..…

The whirling sound of winds outside…
whispered breaths of weaving looms
the treadled sounds of sewing hems..
peddled feet, and bustling, rustling
and those of clattering pans and potting blooms…

There are questions I want to ask
tho’ I can’t recall just what they were
no matter now….with no one here
I must be focused….on my task…
it must be done…

And now, …as doors of dark begins
I see, somehow, that fate moved in….
I am glad that I, with my two hands…
have witnessed with a smile, unplanned,
A life once new, until the end

I hold it all, and always will
her life, I held in loving hands

I stand here in the halls of night
content, I'll leave without regret
companioned by a day well spent…

                    I've been within …her company

A Recharge

In coldness of a winter night With sliver of a moon for light, I walk along the frozen way, Remembering a summer’s day. Come, come, my love, and walk with me. The wind is blowing out to sea. Seasons forever roll around. Lost summer's love, can be refound. We’ll seek the violets where they hide, The daffodil’s winter abide. The tiny snowbells showing through Are proof enough love can renew. Triumphantly, one bright spring day The blossoms as a love bouquet Will cheer a winter near dried heart. Just so, a true love can restart. won a no. 1 in Brian's contest

The Garden

My autumn wine; white winter rose
Please tell me how your garden grows?
I’ve lost my touch, I feared as much
You are fragile and it shows

Can I still call upon you?
With no words ever spoken to you?
And would you come to me?
Could you hear me in a dream?

Would you “sense” me if I came close,
But not in sight of you eyes?
Would you tempt me if giving up hope
Could cleanse me of all the lies?

I survive through a disguise
Designed to hide my immortal light
You will never see it
For I am a chameleon
Crawling through the ancient garden
The (other) not known as Eden
For it has no name to keep it safe
Until light shines on this darkened place

“April showers bring May flowers”
And so your flower has not yet soured
You still have the power to reverse your desires
My white winter rose, will you grow any higher?

Prosper or wither
The choice is now yours
Bound or severed
I’ve done all I could

Snow

Snow sprinkles the ground

as delicate as sugar

crystallizing the exterior with a romantic heritage

only found in the heart of a child's imagination.

Like happiness it can melt in your hands,

and like happiness it can grow bitter like the ice you slip on

Forming miraculously to the curves of the earth

hugging till the land soaks in it's providence

white like the pages I battle with

Falling so passionately you'd think it was falling in love with the ground

And when it lands,

A blanket of perfection

glistening the season to a crisp

gently the sun arises

"there's no where to go today,

I'm just going to sit and enjoy the magic."

Two seasons

As I walked beside the water, feeding ducks and skimming stones,
I was whistling to the weather and the winter wind that moans.
Dreaming dreams of summer sunshine with you walking by my side,
In a land across the ocean, on the beach above the tide.
There was snow across the treetops and the ducks were glad to feed
And the sun so weak and wat'ry that it lacked the heat we need.
But my dreams were warm and balmy filled with ocean breeze and spray;
As I walked beside the lakeside on that chilly winter's day.

As I strolled across the hilltops feeling icy winds that try
To assault the lonely walker and bring teardrops to his eye.
I was not a whit distracted from the dreams that filled my head
Of a walk in summer sunshine where a foreign sheep track lead.
With the views of snow-filled valleys like some massive Christmas card,
I was lifted to the heavens, though the climb was rather hard,
But my dreams were filled with walking on some lazy summer hills,
And the thought of you beside me was a cure for all my ills.

In the woods of winter magic, where the trunks are ghostly souls,
I was walking in the snowscape dreaming dreams of happy goals.
Of a land of forest flowers and a smell of warming pine
With my arm around a lover who has whispered that she's mine.
All the days of winter beauty fade like visions meeting dawn,
As I dream of summer sunshine when perhaps I shall be born
In a life of sweet renewal and a second chance to be
Just the sweet contented poet that I think is really me.

Winter Hands

A man’s chilled hands In the depths of darkness... Candle is shining
She approaches him, warming him up inside by holding him close to her. She tells him, “My love for you is stronger than the winter; no frigid air will hold you down and make you weak.” He smiled at her and simply replied, “I know our love is stronger than the freezing days of winter, we can exist in a higher plane and still be warm throughout. We just need to be in close proximity to physically be warm together.” With this she held his hands and he warmed up to be at her level of fire burning inside her.
She warmed his hands Sure melted all the ice off... Candle illumines

Songbird's Song

My mind freezes as a birdbath
on a chill winter night,
It cracks like glass, soon dissolves
in sun-drenching midday light.
A thought of my winter parting
completely clouds my sight,
Like morning-frosted window's veil
gives an obstructed view,
I can't hear songbirds in winter
or feel me without you.

Freezing wind blows mournfully
through our lives without regard
for time lost, love's tender touch
or beatings of one's heart.
Cold and chill of midwinter
render leaving slow to start.
Anguished hearts as whipping snow
color life hard to see.
Songbirds fly late fall,
winter will be time to die for me.

I can feel a snow before it falls.
I smell it as in a breeze.
I know the North wind blows
after a turning of loose leaves.
Like slow leaving of songbirds,
a tossing of dead weeds,
I sense well signs of winter;
she seeks her strength this year.
When snow is gone, flowers bloom,
please shed for me a tear.

Place my grave atop our hill
on a shaded plot of ground.
Do not cry for me my dear
until springtime rolls around.
Songbirds will sing me hymns
as springs sweetest sound.
A fortunate man I have been
to have loved you for so long,
Remember, I still love you
as you hear a songbird's song.

You

Smile...

Dream...

Sun beams like Hot Choclate on a blue day...

Soft silky and smooth on your skin...

Smile....

Dream...

Butterflies softly floating like falling feathers in the wind...

Gently gliding gracefully over the bright green grass...

Smile...

Dream...

Eyelashes brush against your cheek like soft snowflakes on your face...

Fingertips flit freely across your arm...

Smile...

Dream...

Together playfully prancing like horses running wild...

Spinning tops twiling tenderly....

Smile....

Dream....

Wishes whispered wimsically like pixies playing hopscotch...

Softly calling quietly,

I love you!

Wildflowers

Standing out in a field alone, a little white flower named Daisy longed for someone to share her world.
One day a blue flower named Bachelor Button entered her world they became friends.
She knew by his name that he was not the propagating kind, but that didn’t stop their relationship she called him BB short for best bud.
The seasons of Spring & Summer they enjoyed the sun, laughed in the rain and held on fast in the Fall.
Winter came it was long and hard they were both covered in a blanket of snow, not knowing whether they would ever see each other again or even survive .The snow fell then came the ice, this went on for months.

The Sun shone brightly the first day of spring. A few days later warmth of the sun melted the snow, Daisy popped up .
I’ve been waiting days for you to come out, said BB, they both chanted hooray!
The snow was completely gone in a few days, the birds started building their nests , bugs were crawling around ,butterflies began to visit the two flowers. I wish there were more of us Daisy said, to BB.

They laughed as the sun and wind blew through their leaves. Then it started the sun and rain took turns until one morning the air & field was filled with the smell of flowers.

Daisy and BB looked at each other and asked what kind of flowers are these ? they’re not white like daisies they’re not blue like bachelor buttons. They did not know the birds and bugs carried the seeds from the two of them and the caterpillars buried them under the soil.
The seeds from the new flowers were then carried by the winds many miles away, they landed in fertilized gardens and flourished, although they faced danger everyday.
as they were called WEEDS ..
The Gardener pulls weeds out of the garden so they don’t choke the flowers, which cost a lot of money and require lots of maintenance.

However there was a Gardener who saw her friends spending hours weeding their garden , that they didn’t have enough time to admire and enjoy the labors of their love
So she set out to give a home to all the weeds ,she provided a place where they could fit in and multiply, they required no maintenance, rain provides their water .

The best part of all is their beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Ask my granddaughter-- What are those flowers in the garden ?
She will answer "WILDFLOWERS " their parents were Daisy and BB

in blue midair

in blue midair

It was the twenty first of January, and cold
a needling thin rain was fellow to my thought,
she stood across the mirroring of nightly mold,
continuous the icy raindrops fell, and wrought.

How argent the details became, tho' in my glance
two distant waxen lights saluted to entice -
- "behold my soul because the night's eluding dance
invites the gazing travelers to fade on ice."

And then my thought reshaped two passengers to pair
amid that solitude and needle-stinging rain,
details that spun life's gyroscopic lift, and flare,
across the road evolved to a melodic strain.

The rainfall was transformed to skyward route and mirth
concourse of invitations to absorb me from
perceived time's borderlands that mirrored my life's worth,
descending droplets hit upon the screens to thrum.

Continuum of silver flight, in blue midair,
beloved of winter she became, betrothal grace,
rain's queen enthroned she was across the night and fair,
her laughter fled above cold January's embrace.

The Icy Remembrance Of The Northern Hills

I’m still in the memories of the frost of twelve
I always think how amazing your ideas are
With your wonderful smile
you can heal all my scars
You are my angle with angle eyes
and those angle lips I love to kiss
I’ve never seen a liaison like this
A girl like me and a guy like you
The night of cold winter when you
hugged me in the blanket so tight
It felt so complete and so right
I felt the warmth of your body
and this beautiful relation
I wish to give you the same
warmth the same affection
I looked at the hills intently
from the balcony of our hotel room
I was seeing the plants and the shrubs bloom
That frizzy morning I got up early
 scanning your face all over
Don’t ask me why? I have no answer
Baby, do you remember the night
we walked through the dark place
I was holding your hand
and in the dim moonlight I could see your face
Now the wintry memories will
always stay with me at any pace

A Flower's Funeral

A sweet flower's funeral
displayed in the cold months
of snowy weather and bone chilling shivers.
A sweet flower burned away, dried up;
buried six feet under.

Oh, my sweet flower,
how you once bloomed with no remorse,
like a madman blooming with beauty
and a glorious halo over your head
shinned with such power and blinding glory.

Oh my sweet flower how you have gone now,
resting in peace in the land of paradise.
Oh, my heart it is weak when I see your face,
of once beautiful smiles and warm embraces.
I can hear your crying out to be free.

Snowing and bone chilling cold ripes at my soul
and feelings of sorrow rage through my blood,
boiling my hatred to the world, for losing your
sweet and ever glorious beauty.

What I would give away, if I could be with you
one last night, one last night together
to hold you in my arms, to smell your sweet perfume
that brings back sweet memories of you and I.
What I would do to be with you,
such romance travels through my heart in the highways
of my veins in my body, love is all throughout me,
and my heart breaks when pictures of you start to collect dust.

My love for you, my sweet flower,
is still ingering through the air,
as I travel and look upon a tombstone
which shows your beautiful name.

Come to me my dear flower,
when spring comes,
come to me my dear, sweet flower.
And bloom once again,
twice as large as last year,
and ten times more beautiful then last year.
Come to me in the first months of spring
in my dreams, so I could sit and talk with you.
I miss you already,
and my heart crys,
my eyes flood with tears of sorrow.
I miss our love we shared.
Long walks,
cosy talks,
warm cuddling embraces
and beautiful displayed in a picture frame.
Now I hear the tapping of raindrops on my window pane.
That is all that keeps me company,
that and the rose you gave to me
and a picture of you and me.
Love is endless, even when blue eyed Death comes to visit
and play a game of chess with us,
we all play our game, my love.
I shall go tonight
in my sleepy slumber
and dream of you in the times of our height in our love for each other.
My lost love, you are gone, resting in paradise,
but never forgotten my sweet flower.

The seasons of us

when winter comes and skeletons of trees

stand starkly upon the snow

i will think of you

and your head on my lap before the fireplace

skating on the gaunt, deep pond

where we made love on brighter days

hot chocolate and fired brandies

and standing at windows while flurries fell

when it is spring again and trees bear promises

as islands of snow die slowly in their shadows

i will think of you

when all was alive again and you believed in us

within the world of nest-making and streams going home

making bouquets of foothill flowers

constantly profaning the word “forever”

and imagining that winter was forever gone

when summer is upon me with sweltering wrath

i will come to the forest where we walked and

i will think of you

where we were prone beneath the well dressed limbs

in a canopy above us, fitted into one another like lovers

by the quarry lake where you were covered in beads of water

and the sun loved you and glistened upon your body

where i looked at you as one would view sunsets or miracles

autumn will come with all its dark omens and i will walk

upon the crisp leaves made spectacular by death

and i will think of you

where the earth wore its gaudy colors while ours had faded

into the murky hues of uneasiness and fear

and soon the trees will awaken alone and naked to the world

and i will understand their plight in a box called home

where once laughter lived and life was wonderful

there was a time before seasons and sentiment

when small, gentle hands covered my eyes with giggles

and you gasped, “oh, i’m sorry! i thought you were someone else!”

i smiled then and replied, “i am.”

it was the spring of us that led into the caldron of summer passion

before time and treasons took their toll

before reality and reason tore the glitter from our eyes

and our autumn came that condemned us to our winter

dry cry

the child of a distant mother
whose cry ran dry over the other,
the child of nothingness in winter
whose feet ran cold to the toe,
to whom were she without
a glow to the unknown?
for whom need she commute
when she does crawl than norm?
then who must follow when she cries
to the voice of a soul child; so dry?
where is the father gone too long
or were there a mother, done too long?
whose child a tender care must one render
to which child than love of a parent?
her lips cracked in instances
and tears long soaked in her tearful skin...

You I Dream Of

A flower grows from beneath a blanket
 Of fine and purest white
It reaches toward the sun for warmth,
For heat and for the light

My love for you grows stronger still,
 Despite the surrounding cold
My heart is yours, bartered gone
For yours has it been sold

Its petals shine from morning dew
Its stem grows stiff and strong
It stands strong through the freezing cold
 It stands the winter long

I long for you, for your soft touch
I miss the way you smile
The longer that we stay apart
 The longer every mile

The flower stretches through the snow
 It reaches toward the sun
And now without you the color is gone
 The flower's petals, dun

But as we talk, and as we learn
The flower comes back to life
The snow now melts and goes away
As you take away my strife

Spring is here and growth abounds
As you and I are one
We are together, we are in love
The snow for now is done

I see the future, in dreams I have
Of our life, long and true
I see the times where all I need
 Are comforting words from you

I see the times when winter comes
 As winter tends to do
But we still love, and we still live
And I do still love you

And so we live, with children ours
And a life of much to see
With love we live, to live we love
 Happy together are we

I see the flower, older now,
But still strong with fresh new leaves
I see it growing, tall and strong
 Reaching to the eaves

We are now old, as years have passed
 But old together are we
And strong our love still today
As strong as it can be

Love like winter

It’s cold
And I long,
Really not feeling well.
It’s winter while I
Touch you within the snow.
My thoughts race me
Horrifyingly toward you,
The pain,
I can barely overcome.

It’s the bluest winter,
Like your eyes, my dearest.
And it feels so warm,
Just as the shadow’s
Riots never reach your side.
When your body’s
Not twisted
By butchers that don’t
Know the meaning
Of love, of weep.

It’s winter in our souls,
None the less,
May it be summer in
Your cheeks as
I bare you in my mind
Like this prayer.
In my dream we usually
Hide like my
Personal orison.

It’s winter and
My soul’s so hollow,
I cannot even dare
To speak.
I’m still longing you, my brother.

Pier Four

The north wind blows on loners' date,
dusk cold of February and dark,
strange ghosts remember us - they hark,
we met on moors, one verse too late.

On wharf stray winds, wild bark - like dogs,
alone I wait - on time's frontier,
from this devoid - alive once Pier,
whereon you smiled to winter fogs.

And it is strange to feel you there,
you never left the winds' long call;
I feel your flow in veins to haul,
a string of tales - nostalgic fare.

And you appear - a wraith in mind,
that distant smiles with blue soft eyes,
gray clouds and snow from low hung skies,
- how doleful meet our dusks and twine!

The night ascribes - pure quilt of snow,
so much quietness falls and dearth,
regales the emptiness of earth
and solitude of our time's tow.

Moon harbinger you'll spring to fore,
if you appear, my life will shine,
a conferred love will wave to mine,
bloom-scented winds will reach Pier Four.

Rise, Die, Shine

Build me a temple high…high…high up where the sun can rise
Where good can shine and the evil die as a plant in winter time.
Let it rise
Let it die
Let it shine
Build it high up the moon
But under the sky
And let the sun shine
Through the skin that dims inner light
Let the light unfold the eyes
And see the beauty inside of this small world that wants to shine
Let the war be the plant that could die in winter time
Let it rise
Let peace in the world rise
High…high up like a bird flying up to the sky
Let it die
Let hate die
As a phoenix and be reborn as a flower
Full of scents and beauty instead.
Let it shine
Let our inner light shine
Let it shine through our skin and show us that we can light up the way without hate and
without pain
Let it rise
Let it die
Let it shine
Let the battle field turn into a garden
Let the soldiers be the flowers
And the ammunition be the fertilizing soil
Build me a temple high…high up the sky
To symbolize world peace.
Don’t rush take your time
until we find out that we can shine
Let our soul rise
Let our evil die
Let our ability to find world peace shine.

Winter Depression

Bearable winter
Blanket covered cold
Attacked by white Gas of
Fallen Snow

But unbearable silent
Cripples into the home
Like a snake
To live with loneliness

Get Scattered past
Comes like a shooting star
Burning and blasting
As a thunder bolt
To the vulnerable heart

Like a novel keeps turning pages
Last chapters of the age
Tries to be active
Like a butterfly
While the birds are vanishing
Letting to the cold

Heater in the home
Makes warm the room
Cooks once in a way
Finding the present to share it
At the evening table

Cold darken lumpish light
Turns to here and there
Trying to realize
The nature of life

 A sigh of pain
Or a sigh of relief
Unconsciously comes
Likewise something missed
In the life of four seasons

A WINTER SECRET: Confessions of a woman blessed with true love -for Mix It Up contest

A WINTER SECRET: Confessions of a woman blessed with true love .(for Mix It Up contest)

                                          frost shields the window
                                       deepening the sleep within --
                                                  soft snores

The winter chill cut deep. An eerie frosty silence loomed all over white stillness. Glad, my heart was the only thing that was on fire .But it had been so since the advent of that winter. True, funny too, I had met him only a couple of times and spoke to him just once. Then, our eyes had held each other’s in rapturous oblivion of the commotion around us .My heart began its tremble at the very thought .I was deeply intrigued at the throb, but I let it stay. It was a sweet tantalizing torment .I disguised all that girly cravings in a sophisticated smile and appeared composed. All the while the feminine faculty raced frantically within the psyche to sort an answer for my mammoth attraction and hazed feelings… can it be love? I pulled on my mauve suede jacket and ankle high boots , let myself out for a tranquil pace of contemplation free from the ribbing of reality. Shamelessly banal, I began. Was it his sleek movements, or his deep tawny eyes, or his frank demeanor, or his graceful hands? I was panting. I stopped there .I entered a café for a warm recluse. As I waited for my cafe -latte at a corner table, I was drawn into a penetrating set of eyes, caught quite off-guard. He approached me and with that throaty chuckle and sincere plea, he asked me out for a walk. [Crazy? I thought to myself when I saw the soft drizzle outside].

We walked along the slippery side lanes .Heavy lidded and glazed, my eyes picked beauty in abundance .Everywhere .My hands deep in pockets and chin held up, I gave a good pretense. To look calm. But my nerves were crackling in excitement. Winter winds were harsh .He took me home. Astonishing ,I found myself talking to him with an astounding ease.Waves of warm love exuded and all I longed for was to be in his arms. But I sat there with a put on stoic diplomacy. Tapestries were classy and beautiful, I noted. And that was all .Vision blurred and wild honey flowed... I felt a warm homecoming in his arms, as natural as a flower blooming under tender moonlight....

                                                   the moon shines
                                                 on two sated lovers --
                                                    cell -phone rings

THE FIRST GIFT

The First Gift

There’s news for the young and news for the old,
And news for a world lonely and cold,
And down through the ages this story’s been told
How Love was revealed to all.

Into the world that was full of strife
God told Mary that she would give life
To a boy-child, and become Joseph’s wife
And not to be afraid, at all.

In order to keep the law of the land,
They traveled in winter over hills, rocks and sand.
To Bethlehem they went, hand in hand
But there were no rooms for them all.

The inn keeper said, ‘I’ve no rooms inside
But out here there’s a stable; around the side,
So in you all come, it’s dry and wide.
They all trooped inside, one and all.

The donkey and ox shared their bed in the straw.
Joseph spread their blankets over the floor
He put hay in the manger, and then saw
Mary give birth in the stall.

He went to her side and beheld the sight.
In wonder he helped her through the long winter night.
They placed the babe snug and tight
In the manger; He slept through it all.

The first to hear were watchers of sheep
Wrapped up in their robes, their watch to keep,
Staying awake, they did not sleep,
Until the sun appeared over all.

While they sat in the fields all through that night,
The light from a bright star gave them a fright,
Until the messenger came within sight,
And pointed the way to the stall.

This brightest star shone across every nation;
It showed the way on this special occasion,
For three wise of men, who with elation,
Followed this star to the stall.

First shepherds, then kings entered the door
Of the humble stable, where Jesus they saw,
Among lowing cattle, in a bed of straw;
God’s brightest star; born for all.

Each offered their gifts to the one who would give
His life, so we might know how to live.
When we do wrong, with love He’ll forgive,
So we can forgive one and all.

At Christmas time, like that first gift from heaven,
There’s love received with each gift that is given,
Wrapped in fine paper and sparkling ribbon,
To remind us God’s love, shines for all.

The words set to rhyme and rearranged,
This story throughout time, unchanged.
Just as God's love has never changed,
It is here and now for all.

An Ode to Nelly Bligh

An Ode to Nelly Bligh

The leaves are falling all around,
They softly float to the ground.
This is a real strange affair,
Now that fall and winter are in the air.

Gone are the flowers seen in the spring,
They were tied to the stem like an apron string.
The cold fall weather caused the flowers to fade,
Unknown to the flowers they were unwittingly betrayed.

The forest floor is filled with colorful leaves,
They have fallen from the winter dead trees.
Also dead and barren is the moon shinning bright,
It is emitting a beautiful harvest light.

The moonlit scene begins to take on the falling snow,
The beauty of the evening really begins to grow.
A lamp is burning in the cabin nearby,
The shadow on the window is that of Nelly Bligh.

Snow is falling on the cabin, from above,
Nelly Bligh has just lost her most precious love.
A huge collision happen at sea today,
The murky waters of the Atlantic have taken her man away.

The Titanic has claimed Nelly Bligh’s fate,
She knows that she has lost her beloved mate.
She walks out to the edge of the cliff by the sea,
Nelly Bligh dove in, there she will forever be.

Winter Trees

Bare tree branches waving histerically at the ground
Wind is blowing Shadows, to be lost and never found
The wind she whistles, alluring, as the Sirens of old
Nakedness of Winter Nature, shivers in the cold
As snow floats down, a blanket weaves around the soul
Warm, the squirrels sing and dance in the nest inside your bole
As evening rises, the wind ceases, the freezing cold stands still
Wind stands motionless, behind the rocks up on the hill
Everyday the trees absorbs the warmth from the SON
Soon the buds will sprout, Winter will be gone

Ride The Wind

Written February 24, 2012

One too many times
Our love has been unkind
To the rigors and chills of the snow
The streets they meet
Intersecting the heat
But the cold will blow without heed

To rekindle the flame
Must sound quite insane
But it's all I have left in this world
Yet to feed from the hand
Of another's demands
Could lead to the start of the fall

Ride the wind
Wherever it goes
Don't ask it questions
You don't want to know
The wind will carry you home

SUMMER, WINTER SOLSTICE - 2010

It was a visit long overdue by most people’s standards. I had last seen my daughter two years prior to that during a whirlwind trip which she and her fiancé had made to Cape Town. I had an unexpected financial windfall and the money was burning a hole in my pocket. On the spur of the moment, I called my daughter and asked her to source accommodation for me in London over the Christmas season. A few days later, she called me back with the news that all the hotels had been booked up, save for the Ritz. I chuckled at the idea of having to spend my entire holiday budget on just one night at the Ritz. Then reason asserted itself and we put our heads together to come up with an alternative solution. I could hear her flatmate in the background, chipping in with her penny’s worth of advice. My daughter hung up and I was feeling down in the mouth about the plans for the trip being derailed in such a fashion. Later that evening, my daughter called back with the offer that if I did not object to sleeping on the settee in the lounge, I would be most welcome to stay with them at their London flat. I gladly accepted. She is a chef at a top restaurant and I was looking forward to gourmet meals prepared by her - including the Christmas turkey.

screeching seagulls dive at sushi scraps on a plate - the urchin watches
The evening of the booked flight to London, arrived. It was an uncomfortable hot day and I showered and dressed with only minutes to spare before my friend took me to the airport to book in the statuary two hours before international flight departures. At the airport everything was in chaos. We were given the unwelcome news that our flight had been cancelled. This was the third direct flight to London which had been cancelled that week due to London experiencing the worst weather and snow since records began in 1890! We were offered alternative flights and had to stand in queues for hours in order to procure a new airline ticket. Some people became very verbose and insisted on being granted passage on other airline carriers (at the cost of our local airline carrier). I do not know whether it was due to the weather or the disappointment I was feeling, but when my turn came at last to book a new flight, I readily agreed to fly on Christmas Eve ( three days hence) to London. If I had been given time to reflect on this date, I would not have accepted it. Arriving in London on Christmas Day would have been disastrous: The tubes and other public transport would have been curtailed on Christmas Day and shops and other amenities would have been closed for the day. This I knew from previous trips to the UK over the festive season. To add insult to injury, taxis would have charged triple for cab fare and no amount of quibbling would have swayed them. I phoned my friend to collect me and when we got home, I poured a large glass of Merlot and retired on the sun lounger in the garden. It was *full moon that evening and it was almost worth missing the trip to witness its beauty. I left my bags in the hallway and retired early – after phoning my daughter and giving her an update on the status quo.
moths dart between moon flowers - lunar eclipse
Six am the following morning, I was woken up by the phone ringing. Sleepily I took the call. It was the airline inquiring whether I could get to the airport by seven am. My friend was dancing up and down in agitation and already had the car out by the time I had brushed my teeth. I offered to pay any speeding fines which she might incur during our mad dash to get to the airport on time. The flight was an additional service which was laid on to get the backlog of passengers to their desired destinations. Heathrow had given our pilots permission to proceed, hence the call to me that morning. We were a total of thirty six passengers on the Boeing 747 – it translated to two passengers per crew member. We were treated to five in flight movies which were current and could eat and drink as much as we wished to. By the time we landed in London at seven pm that evening, there was a festive spirit among us. A radio taxi (which my daughter had organised) was waiting to collect me at Heathrow airport. It was a chilly four degrees Celsius below zero and I was grateful for my leather coat and wool accessories.

It was visible in its entirety as a total lunar eclipse in North and South America, Iceland, Ireland, Britain and northern Scandinavia. "bitter" means piercingly cold..... A term commonly used by Britishers... "flat" means apartment. The Londoners I know, refer to it as just "flat" with no adj or possessive noun or article. The Warmth In A Winter's Night

The intricate dusting of tree limbs and grass
paints such a quaint picture tonight.
Cold hands in mittens , warm breath fogs the glass
as we find our way towards the light.
Crackling hearth's such a delight!

I'm snug as can be all wrapped up in your arms
though outside our window it's snowing.
Captured here happily by all your charms
I can't even hear the wind blowing.
The warmth of you's all that I'm knowing.

Let's drink a hot toddy and toast to the night
as we cuddle and watch all the snow.
The flakes as they drift are a beautiful sight.
Right beside all the lamp posts they glow
All night long they'll continue to blow.

The warmth of the fire makes us sleepy and such.
I am here by your side, close your eyes.
I'm lost in your eyes as I feel your sweet touch.
We'll sleep as the wind howls and cries;
awaken to a snowy sunrise.

FLAKES PURE YET OF DESPAIR

FLAKES PURE
YET OF DESPAIR

Cool feather like flakes stream falling, falling
from cracking skies bosom shell
skirt like white gown lace light.

Swinging quiet and slow in cozy air ~
painting wonder on bored ground.
Isn't it a lovely show?

Atmosphere's icy blotting blanket sings
chimes so sweet that couples sway.
Snowflakes spell magic flair.

A beauty appearing so chaste and pure
yet, hidden song of despair
to buds, trees, fields and birds...

Seasons Turning

The wind turns rustling the reddish-brown leaves.
Trees stand devoid of their cover and howl
Like bathers caught without a green towel.
The wind turns, the arctic soul misconceives.
The snows pile up around my silver car.
Outraged the trees thrash and howl in the wind
Smarting like young children regimented.
The snows pile up; the heart is as stones are.
The iris bloom, couples old, young elope.
Buds develop forth from bare twigs and grow,
A bald man farming a new luscious mo.
The iris bloom, the heart feels raptured hope.
The grass browns the dams are slowly emptied.
Branches hang drooping in the severe sun,
Young mothers at their hot sinks deflated.
The grass browns the heart resigns abandoned.
You seduce others, caress them and give
Love, mine remains fervent and I forgive.

Time's Flight

Another year turns over, people look to see
just what the coming year will mean for you and me.
Tomorrow's worries aren't here, and yesterday's are passed.
Daylight's your new blessing, but it's really burning fast.

The seasons change so quickly, now that we're growing old.
"Seize the day my son", seems I was always told.
You cannot live life over, and you cannot take it back,
so make a first impression, be a leader of the pack.

We hurry every day, never noticing the minutes
flying by so quickly, time has no sense of limits.
Just talking all the while, we have such tales to tell.
If only every now and then we grab a rose to smell.

Take time for those you love, and those who love you, too.
For tomorrow some of them might not be here for you.
Teach your children honesty and show them some good deeds.
Because love will never flourish if we never plant the seeds.

Lost

The roaring sound of a freight train wind,
Blows northern snows across the prairie again.
horizontal snow that ices over eye-lashes,
Quickly brings a halt to any kind of progresses.

Shivering bones and chattering teeth,
Just a mile or so to the end that keeps,
the warmth of a fire in a pot-belly stove,
one more mile till my Wyoming home.

I can smell the fire burning on a 60 mile per hour gust,
Faint; but I can smell it just enough,
to keep my feet moving in an unmerciful land,
Please dear Lord, don't let this be my last stand.

Growing tired and weary, snow up to my hips,
I remember your kisses on my half frozen lips.
We danced in that field of purple and white,
Now, it seems I've lost my way, and I've lost my life.
I think I'll sit and rest just a bit.

It Happened on a Cold Winter Day

It happened on a cold winter day
Who knew it would turn out this way
A familiar face in that unfamiliar place
You asked for my number "just in case"

You gave me comfort even then
That bright smile reeled me right in
This is how it all began

When I look back and wonder why
I'm so happy I want to cry
You came to me when I least expected
At a time when my heart needed to be protected

Who knew you needed me as I did you
Your heart was broken and needed healing too
Through shared pain our love grew

It happened on a cold winter day
Who knew I would fall in love this way
I fell for you when I least expected
Now my heart is yours to forever protect it

Of A Still Winter's Morn

In stillness of a winter morn, A carriage passed me by, Treading a path old and worn, Upon it's wheels sore and dry; The air about had a listlessness, I heard no other noise Than the passing hooves of a steed, And my inner voice... No birds in trees about that house Whose porch I sat-in, ever spoke Early in that break of dawn, So I looked when the silence broke: A little distance away, and it Crawled to an awkward halt; The horse, giving a plunge in the air, Jerked and fumed in water and salt. Out came a lady old-- Worn as the wearied wheel-- Followed by the silken robes Of a beauty most surreal. In all youth then, i never saw A maiden so fair and pure; I watched in awe as the women both, Approached at my door. In ecstasy beheld my heart The temple of this Moon Shrouded by her hair, like night Working up a rune. Smiling, bowing graciously Like simmering warmth in the cold, She spoke to ask which way led To the house of(a name she told)... Still in awe, I arranged for chairs For my visitors to sit; Over cheerful cups of tea, I told what place was it. And before, they took my leave, I thought i had to say, ''Do stop-by this place Once more on thy way'': Those eyes passed a lively glance, As if to say, ''I will'', She finally left on her way And left me standing still... Bright was the day, and the next ones too-- I rested for the Dame: Spring and summer, winter came But she never came...

Frozen Golden Hair

His smile was as warm as the summer sun.
But his cold-cold heart chilled the soul.
Debonair, golden hair, he often had to run!
Those notches scratched in his paltry pelt,
Lay evidence of his lusty embrace.
He was a hit and run, son-of-a-gun.
Many young women,
Slapped without a trace.
A new fair maiden fell for his heat.
He ripped virtue out, with a lusty hold.
Surprised at the end, not even a friend.
Her heart suffered.
The serpent’s sting –
All alone in the winters freeze,
Seething, in woman’s scorn.
- Loved and left without concern -
She had esteemed him, true.
What to do?
The answer soon was clear.
Death paid the toll in the winter cold.
Her sorrow would forebear.
Debonair, golden hair,
He no longer had to run!
Her smile was as frigid as the winter’s freeze.
And his cold-cold heart lay icy, still.
Death caught this man who left with fast feet
No more notches would he carve in his strap!
She grinned as she patted his manly pelt.
That winter of his frozen golden hair –

    It never rained ,they were my tears;
                 the sunken secrets
behind my dazzling deep eyes !

its winter again and my love is frozen
my heart is hoarse and insane,
A ruined love song rings through my ears.
            accursed emotions breaking into tears
my lips are bleeding with your kisses

The Summer of the Winter Sky

It was time for the leaves to fall,
The fields to turn white,
The birds to leave for faraway lands-
And the long cold lonely nights.

Seemed like for eternity
She hadn’t had a smile -
Frozen was the world around
Lonely she walked for miles.
Dead were the blossoms in her garden,
And love was about to die-
And yet she prayed to her unseen friend -
For the summer of the winter sky!

Not a song was heard at dawn,
Only the echo of the wind-
In the misty field of corn
Not a farmer was seen!
A wait so long, so painful to bear
Left alone with no one so near
She was lost in her own reverie-
With tears in her dreamy eyes.
And she prayed as her heart cried-
Longing for the summer of the winter sky.

No one knows who heard her prayer
Lost amidst the silence
And yet an early morning bud
Blossomed in her garden!
Suddenly a little sparrow was seen
High on the branch of the willow tree
Singing a song as if to welcome-
Amidst the grey sky, a sun so warm.
And love then again knocked her door
Promising a life like never before-
And like a happy child she opened her eyes
For it was summer for the winter sky!

Fallen snow will remind of me/ it is snowing ...
Slowly as in the dream/
Boy word-beads/ with signs on his spine/
He kisses fine/
Your eyelids /

And it snows ... It snows /so slow/
It does/ and you're thinking of me/
'Coz it's warm/ it's better to stay in warmth/
Waiting for summer dim/
It is snowing/ slowly like in the dream/
Flakes/ go round/ playing the music theme/
You've been looking for rescue/
You searched in wine/
But it's in me/
all the rescues are mine/
It is snowing/ the snow is fluffy and white/
If you see darkness/ I'm deaf and blind/
there's the cast of time/ on the arm/
But I discern the light/
Dreams/ upon your eyelids tips/
Prepare you for winter drowse/
And it snows/

Fallen snow/ will remind of spring /
it will crumble and crackle in vain/
It will snow / fluffy /white/ and slow/
And you'll become whole/

So many candles to see the light

Like joyous green of summer, my heart is singing filled
With you, while winter`s white is witness of good willed;
The glass works and the hot red wine spreading light:
Comforting carols “Silent Night” or “Brad Frumos”.

Comforting thoughts of good like good miners,
And cakes a lot with names of saints and sinners
Looking the heart of sweet cherries strudel under the sight

Of mother humming “Silent Night” or “Brad Frumos”.

Smoldering embers and feeling like hot chocolate
With scent of incense offered to every Christian mate
Under the new temptation of good and hope of right

Teaching of church on “Silent Night”,under “Brad Frumos”

The sacrifice of the pig, a ritual Symphony in red,
At the other side of modal logic, with wine and bread
And slaughtered pig and soured soups that might

Be prepared and savored on "Silent Night" ,near “Brad Frumos”

The aromatic smoke ascending, and dancing heavenly
Like our attempt to preserve and conserve not only
The clay and flash creature but also the inner light

And so many candles to see the Light on “Silent Night”...

The warmest gift for christmas

Under the silver sky ,
The essence feeling from the snow starts to fly.
The northern wind evolutionary telling us ,
Christmas is ready to pass by.

The coldness making us gather in one space ,
Appointing us to share a heart warmness ,
Reminding us to provide a gathering place.

The greatest gift I can get is you my dear ,
Like a Santa Claus to me.

When you embrace me , the lonleyness fades away ,
When you smile back to me , the sadness is washed away ,
When you kiss me , my frozen heart begins to feel again.

Celebrating those happy hours with you ,
I have learned , love is the largest vivid emotion ,
Giving us the view of a colorful deep motion.

Being so greatful for having you in my life ,
My thoughts are howeling loud ,
Love is not just a feeling that evokes with time ,
Love is an ability that can give the sense of soulful heart.

Tender warm winter kisses

Tender warm winter kisses
evoke the warmth of summer in my heart
and in place of snow
flowers flourish and grow
nourished with tender care
that we both share.

Pure white doves
fly through a clear blue sky
butterflies dance
and rainbows materialise
I see the most wondrous
story within her eyes.

True love is the greatest victory
a gentle flowing stream
a never ending dream.

What If Christmas Never Came

What If… Christmas Never Came??? What if Christmas never happened? What if Christmas never came? Things around here would be different! It wouldn’t be the same! What if the baby Jesus was never born in a manger? Mankind would be in serious trouble. We’d all be in danger! If the baby Jesus wasn’t born. There would be no nativity. We wouldn’t be able to display this during our “festivity.” It’s almost like this now! It’s an “ever increasing business.” It seems like nearly everyone wants “Christ out of Christmas!” Why does it seem like Christmas is losing it’s true meaning? The very words; “Merry Christmas,” seem to be quickly disappearing! Many say; “Happy Holiday.” They worry they may “offend.” Having a “holiday” without Christ…. Once again! We need to put Jesus Christ back into our CHRISTmas season! He is what Christmas is about! HE is the very reason! May we all take some time to rejoice in our savior’s birth. May there be shouts of JOY! From the corners of the earth! Let’s not take Christ out of our joyous celebration! We need him so much right now! All over this great nation! May we bring to him a heart of love for everything he’s done. As we bring honor to Christ. God’s precious son! May we continually offer to him a heart filled with praise! Not only at Christmas time… But all of our days! By Jim Pemberton

Darkest Winter

Crystal silence of a frigid night
And I walk alone.
I breathe the scent of bitter cold,
Lonely in the snow.

Whispers linger in the frozen air,
Just waiting for the dawn.
Father Time has gone to sleep
And I cannot move on.

Oh, darkest winter in my soul!
You cannot hold me here.
Tantalizing Crystalline –
A million frozen tears.

Oh, darkest winter in my heart,
More beautiful than spring.
Glittering Temptations, but –
True love, you’ll never bring.

Welcoming Winter

Winter weather comes in starkness; but human spirit adds its blaze.
Flickering embers spark the fire; sending fragrance everywhere.
Stockings hung beneath the mantle, burning wood, eyes in a daze.
Glad hearts singing, holiday ringing, shoppers rushing here and there,
The stint of winter man has entered, real loves viable affair.

Wind-songs float on gentle breezes; melodies traverse freezing land.
Gifts of love become infectious as people demonstrate their care.
Thoughtful folks seek out the needy in hopes to lend a helping hand.
Life's refreshments cheering the season, love and giving fills the air.
Lights adorn the darkest nights, uplifting souls with holiday fair.

Seeking God's mantle, conferred to men, aids calmness, oh, times fast pace.
Devoted service freely given, teaches souls a peaceful love.
As the season welcoming winter, earth takes on a brand new face.
Likewise men look up to God finding renewed calmness from above.
Slower paces, cold days know, warms while hearts escape life's push and shove.

Lively feasts and celebrations change into nature's winter show.
Squirrels with acorns tucked in tree trunks, snuggle, snowflakes falling down.
Deer sleep in the crinkling cover; temperatures plummet very low.
All is well upon the earth, when daylight brings sunlit warmth around.
Fallen leaves decorate the earth with reds and yellows turning brown.

So it is that life does cycle interwoven with social themes.
Man and nature on one planet, sharing the great gifts God has made.
Distracted at times, mundane actions, yet reminded, so it seems.
That with great wisdom God created every season's next cascade.
Frozen waters fight the springtime when winter's beauty is waylaid.

Winter Love

Dimly lit, in the milky sky,
Washed out in icy blue,
The winter sun is hiding shy,
Hugging the horizon.

Here, in the crisp, biting snow,
And frost without thaw,
I let bittersweet emotions go,
To burry them in ice.

A cave for love gone wrong,
Blended into white.
Forever more shall it belong,
Deep inside the snow.

I love the winter wonderland,
This perfect palace,
A kind of cold I understand,
Within my frozen heart.

I embrace winter's fierce serenity,
Her strong and stoic face,
There is nowhere I would rather be,
Than safe inside her arms.

Winter Night Fantasy

Moonlit snowflakes land gently upon
our cheeks and lashes. Flushed rosy in splendor
Of winter night, we fall as one to powdered lawn.
Laughter weaves through flurries as we surrender,
hearts floating, to warmth of love, new and tender.

Eyes reflect passion in beauty of midnight.
Dazzling crystal white, winter sets dreamy stage
of romance for taste of first kiss. Stars take flight
overhead in constellations as we come of age;
one gentle touch to calm burning of ardent rage.

In delicate lace of snowy air, we rise.
Our hearts soar high enough to carve the moon
into slivers of silver dust. Tomorrow lies
below us in promise of glaring afternoon
light, to wake us from midnight fantasy too soon.

A Game Of Chess

Shall we adjourn from the
morning morgue
For pizza and a game of chess?

Rays Curve Along The Earth

It is daybreak
With morning comes the
shining off the layers of the
lake
And mourning the opening of
the floodgates
We went down to the coffee
table
Skipping past the cherry tree
This tree, it served us fruit and
oak
To love and to live beside the
wood
And there we played a game of
chess
[/i/The bishops had fallen but
the castle was gone
The White king shoved the
guardsman pawn
He fell soon after
To roars of laughter
They all adjourned to the
morgue
To the final morgue]

Tea for two and two for tea
Still Café Paris for you and me
We lounged in striped sky blue
beach chairs
Our raking gazes grazed the
summit of the hill
I would not have sat still
But for the girl that had lain
The girl wreathed in flame
Scratched her shoulders and
laughed with the rain
I wondered: did I dare?
Hold her hand and descend into
the uncharted lair?

Gears and Cogs

It was between April and June
I began to build my bicycle
Fitted in a third wheel
By then I couldn't tell what was
true
What was real?
Took her down ol' King's Road
Gave her a short spin
But for the third wheel she
would've broken
She survived, just barely, a
token
The token piece remained
unbroken

I BUILT a house of upside down
I KNOW that lost is lost but
found
She was my house of upside
down
I built her and she built me
We built each other in the
machine

Gliding Through The Winter
Wood

It is nightfall
With dark tags along the
midnight sun
Unwanted but unaffected
She shifts the curves along the
earth
And ruffles up the winter wood
Where I have been waiting
Where I have wasted many a
night praying
And on the tree bark painting
For love and for my love
And the taking of an oath and
tea

What then shall the leaves fall
From thy hand onto the snow
And when shall there be
daylight once more?
For now I shall be gliding
Gliding through the winter
wood

Dark amongst the silver white
I am king and you are queen
In an endless game of chess

What Love is All About

Falling in love, then parting away
I’ve been repeating such relationships
Examining my memories thoroughly
I would seek sweet shadows
I can taste the sweetness of the past
Although you are no longer with me
I’ll be alright
If I shut my eyes
I believe
I believe I will see unchanging love
When you’ve gathered the light of spring make the flowers bloom
Gaze at me in the summer, where the moon floats atop the sea
Warm the autumn winds
As well as the winter snows with your style
Four seasons with your love
Once again
Promises based on desire alone
Will fade with tone
Can you feel me underneath your skin?
Considering that we love each other so,
As long as we believe that, yes….
No matter how far away you may be
Come for me on a night when the spring flowers slumber
Leave a message on the summer beach
Warm the autumn rain & winter tears
With your unembellished love
Four seasons with your love
Within my dreams
Let us hold the flow of time in our hearts just the way it is
The days the two of us spent together will soon be a memory
Even love & dreams will be forgotten, left behind
Warm them, no matter what day it is
Four season’s with your love
Four scene, four four seasons
Deep within my heart
Four scenes, I’ll be alright
Four scenes, four four seasons
Four scene, stay with me...

Inspired by my friend "Sami .K."...

Winter Sky Poem

I will write for her clouds of color
Ellipses, reddened
to temper this cold!

I will write for her words of purple cirrus
and pink, dawns
we will walk in golden sunsets.

Behold yellow morning star
the heavenly peach
caught between Magnolia branches..

I will write the rain, the flame
and this poem for her!

MOMENT IN TIME

Timeless dream, a spring time mist, beautiful bliss, I'm loving this
Perfect rose, may I propose, a gift with bows, a gentle kiss
In the night, innocence is gone, this moment's song, I belong

Lover's heat, feels so sublime, moment in time, music that rhymes
Sweet embrace, you're in my arms, masterful charms, hot smoke alarms
Colder now, the winter came fast, we didn't last, moment passed

Call of summer

Birds of season in the air
Maybe slipped out of sleep
from bottom deepest of the heart
Earnestly coolest of the all
Out of alleys
Beyond the locked gates
Out of the lost
In coldest fields
Sweet of lips
In season clinging butterflies
A passion messenger of the heart
Message
With Pigeon glued balmy
landed in my bed
Sent of summer
In winter lonely coldest bid
Words sweet
Birds of season in the air

Winter

‘Tis winter season—
a bracing weather, foggy in its warmth.
The trees are drying, as bones,
gripping water from the winter soil.
It’s resting on an earth snow:
dancing in chilliness, dazedly.
Perchance,
it’s waiting for a poignant breath
that will give him soul.
To feel, once more, from being numb.
To warm his heart;
but the serenity and the turmoil have ended.

The dream is forgotten by the prized.
The dream is freezing the lover.

The Poet and the Player

The poet met the player in summer
When the days are long and the roses bloom
She rhymed the word summer with lover
And he smiled as his strings he tuned

The poet loved the player in autumn
When the trees turn as golden as sunbeams
And the player strummed and sang of freedom
And the poet compared him to a dream

The poet missed the player in winter
When distances seem to grow with the cold
There's much merit in words, but cold fingers
Do so beg for a lover's hand to hold

But the poet gave the player her heart
And that is the way the sweetest songs start

I Feel You

Its there I want to feel your curves drip in wetness.
To feel your chills turn cold as I drive you up the wall.
I want taste your pleasure with my tongue as I run wild.
Wild through your valleys I can hear the waterfall run.
Drip, drip your juices flow from deep within..
The heat unbareable but a pleasure none the less.
It's winter time but I'm sweating like summer is here.
As you find me at play up and down your bodies sensation.
My lips you feel tugging your emotion as they gently kiss your curves.
The spots I hit you've never known this before.
As I find everyone that puts you in a twitch and a awh of the moment.
The peaks are hard as snow cap mountains in a winter blizzard.
Our bodies skin to skin all wrapped in loves pleasures.
The moment we share be of great spirit and soul devine.
But the love we play through our emotion only to find.
To find that we both most want and that is to be near and loved.
But to be stripped and done in a way none other has ever know.
But to pleasure you through and through as I kiss you softly.
I just want to explode in the excitement of two in love.
But feel you next to me naked and both us sweating as the fan blows through.

The Winter Breeze

The cool winter breeze blowing across me,
the sweet little bird flying in the sky free.

Everything so cool and calm around
all happiness lost, seems again to be found,

in the nature of life with the cool winters
and always hope for good with crossed fingers

Such a season, physically changing the mind,
cooling off every anger, whatever that I find.

Along with the breeze the winter brings in
the warmth of happiness, and a lovely dream

The dream of a girl, smiling at me
everything looks beautiful ,just as is she.

Walking along with her ,I'm always at ease
she holds my hand and we walk in the winter breeze.

A CHRISTMAS AT HEARTSTONE

A special time
When the sun shone bright
In clear winter light

Robin Redbreasts
Darted back and forth
Singing gaily
The splash of red
Upon the snow
As they were being fed

In a magical world
Belonging to you and me
Christmas , came
In our hearts
The joy of giving
Beneath the tree

In a castle
To the right of the Winding Stair
A great tree grew
A mighty fir

In soft winter light
The candles lit
Upon a tree
Faerie light

Golden feathers from Heartstone Eagles
Were put on the tree
Ribbons and lace from the Queens
Glowing berries from the Kings

A living tree
Filled with colour
Decorated with love
For you
For me

In a magical world
Under a tree
Christmas came
In soft winter light
Kings and Queens
Gave generously

Gifts of love
Colour
Of tranquillity
Passed on through
A kiss
A touch
Under a tree

Faeries flew
Trees, whispered
A castle, lit
The love felt, too

A single touch
Passing
You give your self
To everyone
They share all of you
As they share too
Forever lasting

This is a Heartstone Christmas
For what is given
Is love
Colour
Tranquillity
Under a tree

There is no greater gift
Then giving all of you
The light inside glowed
You wanted this,
and it showed

I want to share
A Heartstone Christmas
With you
Hold your hand
See the Northern Lights
Faeries too

For a Christmas at Heartstone
Is a time for love
A time to be free
Where the heart knows
Of everything
For it shows
In you

Calling Out

The shadows over take my mind at times

but your love stands so true for me

it takes care of the pain I feel

but when the shadows call it seems so loud

when your soft whisper is covered by clouds

Why so faint is Thy voice for me

did I fall to hard inside this hole

Do the clouds stand so close for a reason

let me out of this season of darkness

let me hold Thy hand inside mine

keep me warm and fill my heart

I love the way you touch my face

when the tears fall and you open your warm Embrace

Your truth is all I need to live

a true life for all to see

your hand and love guiding me

But I can't walk this road alone

I need to hear your voice inside

I need your touch so very much

I see the pain and feel it to

I need your love to lift the blue's

Take me now and use my life

Help me Lord, to escape the strife.

Snow Forts

Let us go my friend
into the white, soft pillows of snow
that sits undisturbed in the yard.
I'll grab the shovels
and you grab the buckets my friend
and we shall build a snow fort,
that'd be the envy of the neighborhood.
Let's go my friend,
I'll build the walls,
you build the towers,
and we shall put the flag up together.
Come now,
go here and I'll go here.
Make snowballs the size of our hearts,
and I'll storm the fort,
and you shall protect it.
Come now my friend,
if I shall win,
then this little snow fort,
shall become a snow fort of love.

Winter Storm

At last a chance to settle down
it's been a real long day ...
A cup of coffee by the fire
we're in the house to stay...

A cold north wind is blowing strong
it's nice and warm inside...
They say the snow will fall for days
we'll take it all in stride...

I've gathered all the wood we'll need
to keep us nice and warm...
We'll cuddle by the fire place
enjoy this winter storm...

Love and hope in a winter night with moon

 Glance winter night

Our Night

Dry chill in the air under a sky sprinkled with stars like glitter on felt thick as dust. Faint air of chimneys in the distant town wafts lazily by.
Night falls and it's sounds awaken.
Distant howl of the nightly pack, some unrest as cars dart down the nearby road.

Despite it all, the security we create is palpable. Legs entwined as I pull you close, feel your warmth, you skin soft to my fingertips. You chatter from the cold...I draw you even nearer for a nibble on the lips followed by a deep thrust of the tongue.

Ironically warmer now, though we are naked. Skin to skin, pheromones at play. You body quivering and soft moans emanating from a place no one has seen. I drink you in, in waves. Your moans are matched only by the heat of passion I feel now as we are sitting, facing each other in a moment of pure love and expression. I can make the lines of your face faintly through the steamy air we've created. I sense peace, pleasure and security. You are beautiful. We are joined as one, warm and wet, the musk of sweat and sex too much to ignore as we continue this love dance.

Coolness at last, the doors swing wide. We walk, talk, and you are mine. We explore the subtleties of our faces, necks, arms, chests. We know one another as we do ourselves. We are one in spirit and body. The night ambles on, as our time draws near.

Parting, how hated. I fumble for a last kiss, walk away, trembling. I sit, stand, run to you again. Once more, with passion. You can't go, but you must. Not forever, but for now. Though separated by dimensions, you remain near in a dream and in my heart, forever.

One Winter's Night

On one stormy December eve,
In dusks quickly waning light,
A biting wind began to weave,
A tapestry of sleet and flakes of white,
A frigid blanket for this winter night.

Safely ensconced in her warm abode,
An elderly widow dreamed,
Of another night so long ago,
Though only a fortnight it seemed,
With a similar weathered theme.

Winter unleashed her fury that long ago night,
The wind a howling banshee.
But her one true love held her so tight,
Rendering her heart carefree,
His love her security.

A glowing fire crackled and popped,
As her husband held her in his arms.
His passionate kisses were not to be stopped;
She could never resist his charms.
How she relished those nights in his arms.

She blushed like a girl as she recalled that night,
Remembering the love that they had made.
Their love for each other had been pure delight,
Destined to never fade.
His devotion would not ever be swayed.

Closing her eyes she let the memories flow,
Scenes from a lifetime of love.
With a smile and a sigh her spirit let go,
And soared on the wings of a dove,
To join her beloved up above.

A Winter's Song

Tonight,.. stars dangle from the trees,
honed thistle sharp, while years unfold
and winter's muse, has pierced the cold.

A song is stirred within the breeze,
sad words like snowflakes in the air,
that drift through years of old despair

Although our summer had to leave,
forgotten shadows of requite
embrace the hallows of the night

Forever words, were once conceived,
still tangible, are brought to light
in dreams that could not be with you

~

Although our time can't come again,
the tears still fall, ..to old refrains.

Tonight,.. stars dangle from the trees.
Reminders of another time
of summers when the world was mine

Forever' words, were once conceived,
but, youth was fragile like the leaves.

I view the stars from yesterday
New seasons came, and tore us free.
What matters now, are memories.

When winter comes, please... think of me.

Each morning , a white symphony

Each morning, a white symphony
wakes up the same melancholy,
Cold sun and the white which will burn…
Dreams and the dust filling the urn

From the back of the time`s pony
Each morning, a white symphony;
The wind`s instruments by the sea;
Violins on sky`s balcony;

All seasons`tribute in advance:
Winter with its full dress entrance;
Each morning, a white symphony;
Hearts`s piano found harmony.

Hope established its colony;
Kids with carols and happy eyes.
Soon, they make a palace from ice.
Each morning,a white symphony.

It Is You I Dream Of

A flower grows from beneath a blanket
Of fine and purest white
It reaches toward the sun for warmth,
For heat and for the light

My love for you grows stronger still,
Despite the surrounding cold
My heart is yours, bartered gone
For yours has it been sold

Its petals shine from morning dew
Its stem grows stiff and strong
It stands strong through the freezing cold
It stands the winter long

I long for you, for your soft touch
I miss the way you smile
The longer that we stay apart
The longer every mile

The flower stretches through the snow
It reaches toward the sun
And now without you the color is gone
The flower's petals, dun

But as we talk, and as we learn
The flower comes back to life
The snow now melts and goes away
As you take away my strife

Spring is here and growth abounds
As you and I are one
We are together, we are in love
The snow for now is done

I see the future, in dreams I have
Of our life, long and true
I see the times where all I need
Are comforting words from you

I see the times when winter comes
As winter tends to do
But we still love, and we still live
And I do still love you

And so we live, with children ours
And a life of much to see
With love we live, to live we love
Happy together are we

I see the flower, older now,
But still strong with fresh new leaves
I see it growing, tall and strong
Reaching to the eaves

We are now old, as years have passed
But old together are we
And strong our love still today
As strong as it can be

Winter Of Memories

        Winter Of Memories

Champagne and sables delicious and grand
While the wonders of love no where is found

Finding dimension of memories in time
A winter of love we hope to find

With memories darkened all bitter and brown
As walls of shadows spills to the ground

Buried deep in my mind my eyes fills with tears
Deep in my soul theres so many fears

Memories now dying all hardened and cold
Into A winter of memories was A human stained soul

Truth and rhyme might drop memories
Just like A winter of memories.......

Cold

I search for words
To describe this feeling...
After you told me
You hate me...

I remember when
I went swimming in the ocean
One day in January...
Ice was curled in elaborate design
Of wind-blown swirls on the sand...
Snowflakes mixed with grains of sand
And bitter wind blew both into my face-
Sea foam blew across the beach
Like stray, sodden mushroom clouds
And the ocean waves were dark
And angry...
It was so cold, this January...
But I wasn't scared.

That day, I had I thought of
The ocean in autumn;
When I swam last in autumn,
It was October, and the
Wind was harsh and strong;
Waves were wild with
The fresh memory of stormclouds,
So they crested high and broke hard
On the beach...
The sun hadn't shone that day either.
The water, when I dove into it,
Was cold, but warmer than the air-
Vicious to look at,
But under the surface of the waves
Still gentle as summer...
Familiar...
I had gone back in more than once
Just because I loved the feel,
The pull of the current, the raw energy
Of the water against my skin,
And I dove through waves again
And again...

I knew it would be worse this time,
A few months later
And so many degrees colder...
I almost decided not to do it
When I peeled off my coat,
My shirt, my boots, pants, and socks...
The wind bit my skin hard, tearing
Into my warm body, and the gound,
Icy, was like bared teeth against the soles
Of my feet...
Too late to back out now.

So I ran, barefoot, over ice-ringed
Puddles of seawater and snow-flecked sand...
I reached the water, the first soft waves...
I was slowed by the foamy surf,
Which, only knee-deep, was a strong deterrent,
But then I was past it, and I dove...
That first, frigid, smack in the face
As the water closed over my head
Stole all heat, all memory of heat,
From my body all in an instant...
I surfaced gasping in shock,
Heart about to either stop or burst-
I'm still not sure which,
All I could think of was the cold...
It was so cold...
Colder than anything I've ever known...

I retreated clumsily-
I should have recoiled from the ground,
Stepping quickly and lightly
Over cruelly sharp grains of
Equally mixed ice and sand,
But I could no longer feel the cold...
I could feel nothing...
Could think nothing...

When you told me you hate me...
It felt like that.

and I will come

…and I will come.
When the first snow falls down/
when the fall gives its rights/
to the winter/
you know I will come/
for good or for bad/
I’ll board the train/
Passing by / stations/ and countries/
I promised/ and I remember/
You said “there’s no fortuitous meetings/

…and I will come.
When the first snow falls down/
When you’ll lose the trace/
When my firmest snickers/ wipe out/
I will/ I will come…
Unexpectedly/ knowing solely the door/
Just the road / for sure/
Before/ take you I’ll ask/
“are you ready to go?” /
You are ready/ I know/
All the noise doesn’t matter/
I don’t haste/ will be later/

…I will come.
When it finally turns out/
That November is overthrown by December/
When the first snow falls down/
Will be clear/ that nobody is remembered/

And I will come…
Somewhere in chest/ between ribs/
You slashed me/ with thoughts/
I can feel it with lips/ crawling under my cloths/
Our world is alive/ our life/ we’re alike/
And I….

I will come.
When the first snow falls down/
When the death is changed into fate/
When the winter gives up/
To wait/ for spring/
to stay with shining sun/
I will come.

It's what I do

It’s what I do

There’s something about these early morns
They make me want to write
Each day My heart feels so brand new
That it be my delight
To sit here putting words to paper
As they well up from my soul
Which clears me up. And cleans me out
And make each moment whole

I don’t know really, why I do it
I guess it’s what I do
But I can tell you one and all
It makes me feel brand new
To put this stuff down on a sheet
And know I’ve done it well
Though whether good, or mediocre
I really cannot tell.

I know that I’ll be doing this
Until my dying day
Each morning for so many years
I’ve woke up in this way
‘I’ll write some poems for my wife
That’s what I love to do
And then I’ll watch the dawn come in
Then I’ll write a poem or two

And I’ll write about most anything
I don’t care what it is
I’ll write of love, I’ll write of death
I can only tell you this
Each word that wanders from my pen
Is as true as it can be
It be the way one sees the world
As it comes filtered through me.

A Lover's Night

Sparkle sparkle flakes in flight.
Sparkle sparkle crests in white.
Snowflakes falling blowing bright.
Side to side in squalls pressed tight.

Cooling winds from upward gusts.
Frosted ice falls down in thrusts.
Foreheads cold in clammy rusts.
Frozen stiff 'till something busts.

Banks weighed down like heavy flour.
Snowflake pieces charged with power.
Hills and valleys waves that tower.
Simple curves much like a flower.

Dim and hazy light of moon.
Yellow mustard simply strewn.
Calm and quiet for a tune.
A lover's night to make us swoon.

It Is You I Dream Of

flower grows from beneath a blanket
Of fine and purest white
It reaches toward the sun for warmth,
For heat and for the light

My love for you grows stronger still,
Despite the surrounding cold
My heart is yours, bartered gone
For yours has it been sold

Its petals shine from morning dew
Its stem grows stiff and strong
It stands strong through the freezing cold
It stands the winter long

I long for you, for your soft touch
I miss the way you smile
The longer that we stay apart
The longer every mile

The flower stretches through the snow
It reaches toward the sun
And now without you the color is gone
The flower's petals, dun

But as we talk, and as we learn
The flower comes back to life
The snow now melts and goes away
As you take away my strife

Spring is here and growth abounds
As you and I are one
We are together, we are in love
The snow for now is done

I see the future, in dreams I have
Of our life, long and true
I see the times where all I need
Are comforting words from you

I see the times when winter comes
As winter tends to do
But we still love, and we still live
And I do still love you

And so we live, with children ours
And a life of much to see
With love we live, to live we love
Happy together are we

I see the flower, older now,
But still strong with fresh new leaves
I see it growing, tall and strong
Reaching to the eaves

We are now old, as years have passed
But old together are we
And strong our love still today
As strong as it can be

Memories Made

The coldest white had fell
Surrounding all the feet of those behind
The day turned into hours
Just in the mind
Did the gift appear in night?
Or were dreams reality?
Did it come from karma’s hands?
It drifts from sanity

The trek towards that happy place
You’ve been there many times
Something was different now
It held a horrible surprise
The box wasn’t full of life and sound
The ashes of memories made were here
Taking longer to twist the knife
Left remains of a child now in tears

Standing still you couldn’t breath
Excuses flying in your mind
Trying to figure out the scene
Hoping there’s time
You look up to see
Expectant eyes for the last time
You wish you could keep
But it’s the saddest of a smile

My Winter Wedding Dream

He looks at me
in his suit of white
with that calm smile upon his face
he is a marvelous sight

people all around me look
but their faces I can't see
in this winter wonderland
he's the only one for me

I almost run toward him
with excitment my cheeks warm
except my father's right beside me
holding tightly on my arm

upon arriving at the alter
I pull a white rose from my bouqet
then I lean toward my father
and as I place the rose I say

"Daddy it's okay now
you can let go of my arm
with this man here beside me
I will not come to any harm"

a smile spreads across his face
but there's tears within his eyes
as he gives me to the man I love
afterward he replies

"I know you'll be okay
but I'll be here anyway
if you ever need any help
just call me night or day"

with that he turns away
and takes a seat below
then I turn to the man
who's face is all aglow

looking at this man's face
I feel as if in a dream
with all these emotions in my head
I don't know whether to laugh or scream

with a laugh I say I do
somthing in his eyes glow
then after a kiss that ends to soon
my HUSBAND and I turn to go

outside the church the sun shines bright
such a glorious sight to see
but in this winter wonderland
he's the only one for me

Winter

Gray is the season
that withers
blossoms dulled by
satin frost
how they sadly fall
cruel chill, it
breaks them all
rest, Rest immortal
doves
while Winter feigns
treasures lost

Crystal brooks still
as dusk
mirror figures warm
at heart
oaks over icy knolls
sprawling old souls
flutter, flutter
leafless arches
for that single
spark of life to
start

Blushing through
frozen woods
morning hints at
splendor, frail
a starling in the
snow
sleeping on her
bough
wake, wake feathered
angel
sing sweet trills of
the nightingale

cycles of love

my mark is fresh like snow in air
brisk and mist will crisp on hair
fists ball up from risk to care
whisper and stare but all is fair
love and reason, flow like seasons
the endings blending and quite seeming
parts of hearts, tho awake or dreaming
half is seeing, the other believing
eyes align and beats will sync
eyes a line for heat to sink
taken quickly for a fall
lovers stroll through memories' hall
echoes stir sight and scent
my senses flight keeps suspense
until logic teaches what it meant
all good things come to an end
summer lighting longer days
more hours to burn for lovers lay
precious tokens we hope to stay
from constant change or parting ways
spring into action to save those astray
a few more years can cost a pay
with lives and sacrifice displayed
perhaps tomorrow will be okay
years can fly like clouds in sky
feelings revealing what to decide
and just like that were back to try
to love the same until we die

Warmth

            Warmth

After snow the ice sets in with wind
Temperatures plummet in the cold
The humble house gets cozy with the warmth inside
Built by the fire in your eyes
Small cabin, but, enough protection on the lumber logs
My love and I venture out to the wilderness
Bundled up in winter gear
Take each other by the hand
It keeps us strong
It reaches into our hearts
And starts an ember there for warmth

Rain Drop

It is that of the rain to which falls.
That of a winter wind to which blows.
It is of the rain drop to which started this day.
Not that of a sun shine but that of a doom day.
It is of something wet as it is a mist from that to have formed.
That of water from the ground to which that cloud had form.
There I lay, with a thought of you this day.
As the rain beat lightly on the roof top it runs this day.
You would think that far up, the rain drops would hit harder.
But it’s there with gentleness to which God watches its fall.
As the leaves turn color and it is of a winter fall.
It’s there; I’m curled in the sheets.
Wishing you was at my needs.
As it is with my heart to which reins for you.
That it’s there to which my heart sweats for you.
Touches of gentle kindness as you bring that of warmth about.
It’s there the drops fall as it moistens the ground.
A rein out from a howl inside, that with a growl for love.
It’s there I want to experience drops with you.
As the rain covers the windows on the down fall through.
Not of cold rain but that of a heat of passion with an explode.
That we rain in which is a sweat of wetness and an explode!
As we would take the day off and enjoy that of the rain he gave.
And make it that not of a rainy day but that of love droplets of spray.

My Favorite Season

In the spring you're my flower
As your perfume fills the air
Your angelic beauty is the reason
All the people stop to stare

In the summer you're the reflection
In a cool clear mountain lake
Your warm smile in the morning
Will cause the sun to wake

In the autumn you're the breath of fall
That whispers to the trees
Your voice is so enchanting
The trees divorce their leaves

In the winter you're the snowflake
You're simply one of a kind
You melt my heart as I melt yours
That's truly hard to find

I guess the season I love the most
And you're the only reason
More than Summer, Spring, Winter or Fall
You're my favorite season

Autumn's Arms

Written November 17, 2013

The summer dies slowly
Into autumns arms
And winter does linger
Until spring breathes at dawn
I've fallen for you
Cast under your spell
My gaze as stone
As the old towne well
My face as pale
As the moon in the night sky
My heart unspoken
Left wondering why
These days are so chaotic
Yet these nights so serene

Computer generated poem edited by me

Your skin glows like hot coals in a winter fire

and blossoms as softly as would a bed of nettles in the dusty rains of spring

.
My burning heart rises like an organ

and leaps like a giraffe at the scream of your name,Charmaine

The evening descends like a crowd of great black crows’ wings

I am calmed by your old silk slip that I carry into the pub every night

not caring what the other men think of me.

I am filled with hope that I may dry your tears with blotting paper[ as I bought too much]

and give you freshly brewed brandy from my own glass teapot

As my cigar falls from my lip, it reminds me of your lost hopes of winning the Lottery.

In the hushed evening, I listen for the last strum and thump of the neighbour’s TV.

My heated body leaps into my bed along with my spirits and my photo of you and a few dozen other women.

I wait in the crystal moonlight for the email with your secret plans

so that we may peer at one another shortsightedly

in search of the the physical joys and spiritual completion of true love

whilst simultaneously watching ancient films on the TV

and cleaning our nails and ordering the groceries on line
and other tasks we don’t yet remember to forget

how beautiful it is to love and cherish someone as winter descends

like a ton of dead rabbits.

and Xmas approaches like a Victoria line train coming into Euston

almost sucking us off the platform to certain death.

How much longer will you keep me waiting?

Mora Piya Ghar Aaya - My Beloved Has Returned Home

Mora Piya Ghar Aaya (My Beloved Has Returned Home)

Autumn:

the leaves fell, as you left, a bleak chill wafting across the barren space within my being,
you left, taking your smile and mine,
my smile rests with you still, leaving a void impossible to fill.

Winter:

pangs of longing consumed me, my only company in the frigid nights,
my tears remain frozen, within,
unable to fall from my broken eyes, as I searched the depths of the cold, harsh skies.

Spring:

birds returned home, though you did not, and I felt soothing rebirth all around,
memories of you began blazing, their embers stoked,
and at last the tears rolled, like ink on this blank notebook, my whole being pined for you, my very self in anguish silently shook.

Summer:

alive I felt again, the promise of the coming cooling rain, easing the heat of desire,
yet the furnace slowly raged inside, your absence tearing into me, shattering my nights, my longing for you soaring unfettered across the skies,
dancing on clouds, blissfully free,

Monsoons:

heaven itself opened, the deluge an unending dream,
rain falling all around, mingling with my flowing tears,
and then I saw you, you returned, and I embraced you, never wishing to let you go,
and though I may wear the mask of the clown,
if you were to leave again,
my very soul, would quietly slip away, and in the monsoon rains, I would gratefully drown.

A Bachelor's New Year

Thoughts in his head as he tries to sleep
Cause him to ponder, remember and weep
All the great things and all the mistakes
He knows there is a reason he is still awake
Can it be his Creator’s own guiding hand?
Or an epiphany in his mind set for foreign lands?
Alas, these are the headaches that cause so much pain
So much to lose, yet so much to gain
One can never set aside the dawning of the morrow
For it holds adventure, happiness, regret and sorrow
The thoughts of dear loved ones causes temporarily healing
Then immediately the anger is much more revealing
And as he scolds those there who are there to help
He pushes them away thinking “I am no whelp!”
The cold winter winds are wretched and fierce
Into his soul they demolish and pierce
He then falls to his knees and begins to pray
To anyone who help make this storm go away
Finally out of the winter abyss
A figure appears and grants him a kiss
A kiss full of passion, warmth and desire
It nearly turns this winter storm into St. Valentine’s fire
Immediately it stops, all the world goes to black
He is awake in his bed, safe from attack
The answer to his loneliness has become perfectly clear
This resolution will come in the next New Year

Our Love

Our Love

My heart starts aching late at night,
When I start dreaming of you.
Remembering all the memories of light,
All the good times and the bad with the feelings due.
I'm crying every night,
Because of all we lost.
I remember when our love shinned bright,
Now the light smoldered by the cost.
My love for you,
Is true.

I'm sorry that or love has died,
Black as the darkness of a winter night.
I can't imagine that you cried,
Not even in the wettest winter night.

Now I came strolling by,
Looked through the window and saw him.
I tried my best not to cry,
As the light in my heart grew dim.
I tore up the flowers I bought.

I thought about busting down the door,
But there's nothing to say
That I haven't said before.

Now I just continue strolling,
Around the corner and down the street.
And I still don't know
Why things happened like they did,
But I just walked on home,
And dreamt of what I dare not did.

Now I just lay there,
Like my heart has fallen out.
I miss you dear,
But now my light has burnt out.
My love for you,
Was true.

Walking in the Snow

Walking in the snow
As puffy flakes float by
We make a pair of footprints
While walking side by side

Walking in the snow
As our breath fogs the air,
Our footprints paint a picture
Of our quite presence there

Walking in the snow
In a vast land of white
We leave some imperfection
A testament to life

Metaphoric Flower

To be honest
Winter stings
And it forever broke my heart, but to tell you the truth
I'm addicted to the pain
Addicted like a drug addict
Winter froze my heart
And took away the dandelions for its own pleasure
But it forgot one
Left it deep in the cave
Living with no sun
I met it the other day while writing a haiku
Last one to leave my
Broken heart
Alone
It tries to glue my life back together
But I'm already gone

Behold the Snow

Behold the snow all clear and white
Within its glow a winter’s sight
It settled in sometime last night
While fires of passion burned so bright

He told her that he loved her so
He bared his heart to let her know
She knew his love was pure as snow
And that he’d never let her go

For them the clouds seemed always white
And kiss filled laughter all they know
They never felt the cold of snow
When every star showed future bright

Yet endless bliss just wasn’t so
For she had other dreams in sight
So much to do before her night
And so for now she had to go

Then in his hand was something bright
Which loosed a shriek into the night
Now hidden somewhere out of sight
Behold the snow all clear and white

BARKEEP REAP ANOTHER ROUND FOR THOSE ROSES

Came then the snow
When winter made its way to woe
Came then the cold
And beckoned beauty my eyes would behold

With a lapse of loneliness was I by bemusement bequeathed
Bemused by a lady accused of granting far too much grace
With more than a tincture of temptation
And hair woven of libation and lace
Came she to me to say to me how wondrous winter can be
As windswept flakes of snow bounced upon and blessed the ground
While I soaked in her soothing seraph sigh and a sanctified sound
And each time she’d blink the snow would turn pink
While the roses required a requisite drink
The garden was jealous of the palette the lady did portend
Colors crammed with the kind of credulity chrysanthemums contend

But buds bow and become belittled by the wind
And wilted by weariness Nature seemed reluctant to rescind
Held hostage by the threat of what might be hurled down from the scurrilous sky above
Held hostage as she holds hostage now my love

Came then the frigid weather
With love no longer a tender tether
Only snow below fallen from on high
And me to watch those drunken roses die

The Snowflake Heart

      The Snowflake Heart
			By Elaine Roy

T's the heart, that falls so deeply, that leave it love, like snow upon a meadow.
Falling softly as tender touches , each falling snowflakes melts; finding it way into the hearts of the ones you love !
For within the heart lye each snowflake, glinting with love. It's when you touch the heart of someone, you begin to see the hidden snowflake that's glitters, went the warmth of love is felt!
To embrace one's heart, is to seek with in the fallen snow.
It's how you create the wonder of love, like a snow angel.
It's the magic of love, like the finishing touches that creates snowflakes!
Every one, is able to seek the heart of wonder. It's how we create a bond to each other's hearts!
Each snowflake is different but still a snowflake; just like our hearts!

Ghosts of South Dakota part 3

There were seven Indian Government schools. All built alike. The
one I'm writing about is Spring Creek. He Dog, Soldier Creek and White River,
Grass Mountain, Two Kettle, and Black Pipe were the other schools. The
Headquarters for these schools was at Rosebud, South Dakota.
On some summer evenings we were able to talk our mothers into
hiking to the lookout tower. We followed the ankle deep sandy trail road to the
cliff north of the school., A canyon lay at the foot of the tower but we climbed the
bluff. I don't know why we didn't explore the canyon unless it seemed dark and
sinister. The footing was better once we reached the summit. The closer we got
to the tower the taller it grew and standing at the foot of the steps looking up was
easier than getting to the top and looking down. My mother didn't usually make it
to the top because she didn't like heights. But she didn't mind being left behind
this time. We never could get into the building at the top because it was locked,
but we could climb the steps to the very last one. Even my little sister managed
to elude mom and followed us to the top.
From the bluff we could look down on the garden. My aunt grew a
huge garden and canned the produce for the hot meals served the school
children. We kids didn't work in the garden very often, but we looked for the arrow
heads and fossils. Which, I suspect the adults probably considered the best
place for us.
At the end of the road, living in shack, was Old Lady Grease. I have a
vague recollection of seeing her. Tiny, frail, wrinkled and gray headed is all I can
remember.
In spring and fall we were in school in Kansas.
It's Christmas now. Cold and usually snowy. We were in a winter
wonder land.
I'm standing at the fire escape window. The ghostly pale full moon is
illuminating the naked arms of the trees as they shiver in the wind, swaying to
and fro as if dancers in a ballet. I listen to the winter sounds. The frigid air
enhances their sharpness. The ax's thud echoes up the canyon as one of the
Indians across the river chops another supply of wood. One of his peers beats
on the drum. It is one-thirty a. m. but the thin walls of the tents do not keep the
cold out. Day or night this chore must be attended to for survival.

Warm Hearts

Warm hearts thumping in rhythmic pattern
all together in a chorus so divine,
that it speaks to the soul and sings to the heart,
and we join hands and dance in the winter paradise
of such beauty in the changing of the world.

As we all dance and sing,
we show each to each a beautiful thing
that makes us all sing.
Warm hearts we are and warm hearts we do have;
all we do is love and love again,
in the times of different seasons
we dance and sing and love,
for our warm hearts they love one another,
and together they shall beat together,
one by one-
and with the taking of a springtime storm
we shall indeed enjoy such beauty
our warm hearts produce.

Seasons Of Affairs

The deadly air of autumn’s blow
Empowered winter’s cold to flow,
But spring’s warmness began to grow
Releasing summer’s smoothing glow.

It started out as a mer gaze,
Bringing my lonely heart ablaze,
We were lost in a lovely maze
Surviving the long autumn days.

Can we handle the freezing cold?
The one that wraps us close and hold
Unto each other like glimmering gold
As time stops, turning us into winter’s mold.

We slit in half when spring arrived
As I believed love was thrived,
I felt you had my heart revived
But it was clear you were contrived.

Now summer begins to boil down
And I can see all your endless frown,
You indeed fooled me like a clown
So now I watch our affair slip, drown.

Summer was to bring us together,
But spring showed we’re light as feather,
In winter we were twined with tether,
Did you enjoy autumn’s weather?

Allergic Interaction

Over long winter hours
Feeling angst about the enduring absence of a pleasant stasis,

The ninja like treachery of nature, camouflaged in the subtly sweet aroma of hyacinth and spring dew, sneaks past the awaiting anticipation of discomfort.

How long has it been since Nature’s sweet halter was again shown,
Torturing lost companions with its overbearing presence?

The relinquished thoughts and plans replaced. Uncomfertability, tension, and a sense of impuissance take hold of all decisions and actions.

A pill for such things causes more than dry mouth and hot flashes. The treatment has been known as the cause in many a heart’s aches and sudden collapses.

Pharmacopeia fails to vitiate the limerance of one’s soul for the unattainable warmth of spring’s wrath.
Once again, winter is preferred over possible allergic reactions.

Winter Willows

Capture a star and beauties become
The moon mellows as loveth succumb
For the wonders weep as the winter willows
For the summers keep until beauties billow

The weary weeps as the weddings wade
For art thee in heaven where stories art made?
She whispers love's wish doth seeketh bliss
As her kisses capture longings amiss

Something that used to be so flavorful, sweet, and tempting has done nothing more for me now than left a bitter taste in my mouth, and a sting upon my rooftop
Kissing you was fun, but only for so long as the early morning went on and on
Sometimes old favor songs come on, and it reminds me of a much happier place
Pretty hazy now,
The memories begin to fade, and as you smoke more weed the anxiety starts to fade away .
Your car gives me a heart attack, anytime I am on the road I have to look back, so paranoid by the fact that you could be right there it puts a most foul and disgusting odor in the air
It reminds me of the smell of burning flesh, and my stomach begins to tie in knots.
My stomach drops six feet under, and it is there no longer there,
Thumb, thumb, thumb, better square up your heart, you wouldn’t want to have a seizure now would ya
As the blood oozes out and you watch it pour in your hands and on your clothes, you take out a needle and begin to sew
Something you are most used too, the pain is sometimes so real.
All in your head, yes it is, but sometimes it’s a physical illness too, forever feeling sick and lonely I look out the window and get into the zone
I always think about the long winter nights, they remind me of the days that didn’t make sense
The winter is m comfort zone, it’s the only time I feel at home.

This Night I Wait

Crisp, fresh footsteps on the
smooth serene picture of
snow darkened by night.
They ruin the blanket of
nature left by the
flurries in the midts of winter
with a new beauty,
in which I find more attractive.
The crisp, fresh footsteps of your
departure leave me to ponder
on the questions at trial in your mind;
Have you enjoyed the day,
the cook-off at church,
sleeping at your grandmothers,
eating at mine?
and the safety of your journey
back to your warm, messy bed.
I sit on the edge of my own,
waiting for the return of the
crisp, fresh footsteps
one snowy day.

IN EVERY WINTER I WRITE

         IN EVERY WINTER I WRITE

Every winter I write
Not to you
Let God forgive .

That day you told me
Of fence and fantasy
If life is kept in abeyance ,
If life is kept in my hands,
You'll not be the chosen one .

I look through kaleidoscope
Objects I see tantalize
Condescension of life
Tunnel of love and light .

Dark clouds invade sky
We grope out to find life
Or our space
Will be occupied
Byanother souls .

You speak of sprits
Their spaces and mobility
Visiting us often
To feel us
Our lovelessness
What will they think of us
Our life and theirs !!!

Wanting Bodies Glow

In a world only they know from their first meet
She craves his manly touch and desires their souls to greet
Flesh from two in love in grace upon cotton white
Unification to be their want this coming winter nights

Caressed to undress whilst their kisses whisper so
Naked to bare in touch their wanting bodies glow
Excitement abounds in bloom, lips in tender grace
Eyes meet then close, their hands in loving pace

Like the rhythm of the ocean as the waves gracefully caress
Her laced light covered clothing, now to be undressed
Slowly her spine I traverse in kissing motioned flow
Upon her peachy flesh, she's sensed for in I grow

To her nape her lobes I touch, my hands adorn her mane
Whispers unto she I share, in delight I kiss her frame
Bite marks, clenched nails of thrill, adorn her peached skin
In blissful elegance, she now welcomes her Highlander in

In craving lustful desire, twined these two in mix
Their pulse begins to kick as they fuse transfixed
Fresh these two in love in grace upon cotton white
Unification to be their want this coming winter nights

What If Christmas Never Came

UNSUPPORTED CODE What If… Christmas Never Came???

What if Christmas never happened?
What if Christmas never came?
Things around here would be different!
It wouldn’t be the same!

What if the baby Jesus was never born in a manger?
Mankind would be in serious trouble. We’d all be in danger!

If the baby Jesus wasn’t born. There would be no nativity.
We wouldn’t be able to display this during our “festivity.”

It’s almost like this now!
 It’s an “ever increasing business.”
It seems like nearly everyone wants
  “Christ out of Christmas!”

Why does it seem like Christmas is
 losing it’s true meaning?
The very words; “Merry Christmas,”
seem to be quickly disappearing!

Many say; “Happy Holiday.”
They worry they may “offend.”
Having a “holiday” without Christ….
Once again!

We need to put Jesus Christ back into
our CHRISTmas season!
He is what Christmas is about! HE is the very reason!

May we all take some time to rejoice in our savior’s birth.
May there be shouts of JOY! From the corners of the earth!

Let’s not take Christ out of our joyous celebration!
We need him so much right now!
 All over this great nation!

May we bring to him a heart of love
 for everything he’s done.
As we bring honor to Christ. God’s precious son!

May we continually offer to him a heart filled with praise!
Not only at Christmas time… But all of our days!

Illusion

Thine was the glory -
When the sun rose one winter morning,
To love me, I relished myself and basked with my esteem,
I was abided by the greeting rays -
And I followed it, till my eyes seized me...
Thine was the glory -
I saw her at a glance and it seemed I lived the moment -
It seemed I lived a life.

Thine was the glory -
When the moon gleamed one winter evening,
To hug me, I enchanted myself and suspired the fondness,
I was maneuvered by the adorning rays -
And I winked it, till my arms hemmed in...
Thine was the glory -
I hugged her for once and it seemed I lived the moment -
It seemed I lived a life.

Thine was the glory -
When the spring got hold of time and allayed the daylight,
To verse me, I sensed myself and pleased the warmth,
I was sedated by the soulful met -
And I graced it, till the flushing time...
Thine was the glory -
I assured her for once and it seemd I lived the moment -
It seemed I lived a life.

Thine was the glory -
When the summer flamed up and brightened the liaison,
To bless me, I devoted myself and assured the consequence,
I was honored by the moral dignity -
And I adored it, till my endurance evinced the realisms...
Thine was the glory -
I valued her for once and it seemed I lived the moment -
It seemed I lived a life.

Thine was the glory -
When the sun doomed behind the roaring clouds,
To lust me, I drenched myself and coused along with the mizzle,
I was lipped by the wishful drops -
And I sheltered it, till my love stormed with the illusion...
Thine was the glory -
I endured the roarings and it seemed I was only living those moments -
As it only seemed I was living a life but not a realism.

Deep Chill

She is the first I have met
whom I cannot think of dead
without regret
without feeling left
in a ruin.

I break out from the stress
of her in that long, black dress
and her eyes welded.
My soul is belted
by her coffin.

Let me go on forth, away from your storm,
o' brutal Winter Spirit.
Do not get me wrong, for I played along;
but how she sleeps, lays a variable
under a cloak of allure unutterable.
We want more days, so pass your gaze
onward, viscous Winter Spirit.

The Midnight Flight

Crossing on high
The winter sky
A lone goose cries

The stars shine bright
And hung nearby
A Quarter moon

I wonder why
Where does it fly?
No mate in sight

Luna

Since it was Sunday in late December
the sun perched softly behind a dark
swirl - and the distant dust
turned the last ray from red to pink
well before the dainty fingers
of her small hands could count to six

The tide was ebbing but left lopsided
lines of foam-beige brine surrounding
crooked batons of driftwood settling
for the evening - in wait of the dawn’s
salty brush and the mermaid’s call
that only the mullet could hear

Sandpipers skipped across the scrawls
where some spirited soul had neatly
spelled the name Luna and etched
a lazy heart in the sand
made barely legible by the suckle
of less than a half moon of sweet Gruyere

Holiday lamps from the shops in the village,
baptized by a light steam, lifted green and blue
watermarks off the horizon toward the mangroves
and left markings of indelible ink where crow’s feet
tried to sleep and halfhearted whelk
nestled as salt in recesses of aged eyes

The scent of the sea was mild
Then again just the thing to suit
The keenness of the cilia that lined
the inside of the only nostril that still behaved.
And though the Mumps had left one ear utterly deaf
I observed the pelican call

This was neither the place nor time to breathe meekly.
A wordless titter throttled my throat
and I asked myself how life might be sounder

Her lily white hand, half covered in sand
touched the truss in my mind.
Smiling out loud my deaf ear could hear
her juddering blood - for she was totally (and wonderfully) blind

Parachutes

I sit before my snow framed window,
watching thick flakes drop from the dark sky,
parachutes that disappear into the calm white sea below me.

The light is fading framing a reflection,
I see myself glazing, still like a photograph,
inside, I drift back to the watery place by the Black Sea.

I can’t remember that moment in detail,
when I crashed through the surface and into this blue
wash of emotion which has charged me magnetically.

The snow has receded and the sky is now dark.
But the time just stands still as I relive those thoughts,
gathering strength with my will to reinstate through alchemy.

In the distance my senses are stirring again.
Steadily, they come closer, I hear them whisper to me,
“drift back to the surface and let go, its just a memory”.

Untitled 15

Our winter love ruins; I was once scolded by the hand that taught me
but now it leaves me cold and,
although our brief candle has nearly burnt itself out, I love you too much,
and it still isn’t enough.
I’ve had a thousand loves but they’ve all died a thousand deaths,
soon I’ll be left with nothing again;
unpicked and overripe in our frosted bed; there is nothing left to feel
when you have lost all hope.
Where do you go if you’re already on your knees?
I gave you my heart but you took my mind in the process,
so now I’m left solid, a glass glacier of dreams,
and I can’t stand your frigid abortioning; I want to ignite myself to feel again
- my doctor does not recommend that.
Cadaverous kisses simply prolong our illness but our parts are frozen together
forever, all still and dead with our ice-covered hearts.

PERCEIVING KINDNESS

More days await underneath the solar's resplendant sheen,
dishevelled hair battered by michevious whirlwinds;
and slowly approaching my bright chapel, I promise to commit no sins.

Lilies and daisies are held by a cautious hand which has known love,
she accepts them and gently kisses me on these unspeakable lips;
what need is there to whisper anything, if looks can replace all words?

We carefully plan the adventurous years with happy moments,
sitting on the shining marble steps of a medieval church shaded by pines;
and who is listening to our secrets, if not the hesitating and intrusive swallows?

November departs in a hurry, to permit the gelid winter take over the scenery,
leaves detaching from the melancholic trees, the robins shaking off the light frost;
this is their home, shouldn't winter show solace...be kind and not impart the worst?

I stretch my tiepid arms, to embrace all trees and creatures, like saints in their niches;
and yet they're too small to save them all, to protect them in the safest place of the heart.
and give them the warmest feeling...when the harsh winds will bring those frightful blizzards.

By the ice-covered pond, where pretty ducks glided on soft waves lured by a steady breeze,
I breath hard, letting all the ice melt and allow them to swim so elegantly and so free;
they are my eternal friends, more than humans are...they perceive kindness and return it.

Seasons In T he Sun Again

With the warming of the Spring-time
   As Winter walks away
I look into your loving eyes
   And see those Summer days
When sunlight fills my every moment
   And warms this tender heart
The seasons quickly come and go
They pass just like the days
But you my love are constant
   You live inside my world
   Caressing my feelings
   Touching my emotions
   Your words are softly spoken
   Putting me at ease
   Were just like Spring-time flowers
   Swaying gently in the breeze
But Winter throws a final spiteful
   tantrum
   Freezing us with icy showers
That chill us to the bones
You lean and snuggle into me
   nestling closely to my chest
As you shiver in the cold
But do not fear your in my arms
My love will keep you warm
   But as with changing seasons
   And Winter passing by
   The Summers coming home again
   To spread her golden rays
   Now are hearts are beating
   Stronger for the days
   Tomorrow may be Winter
But our love is here to stay

Of Loving You

In winter I miss spring time rains,
In sunmmer I miss the coldness of snow,
When the sun beams down I miss the
Clandestine moon, cool and aloof,
And
When you're not here with me,
I miss your warm embrace.
I miss the moments we share, so precious,
So treasured,
Yet
The depth of my missing you cannot be measured
In tears
Or fears
When lonliness overwhelms me.

I love you!
Missing you is but an extension of this love.
I'll be loving you, missing you, be lonely for you,
Until I am no more, and somehow, I know,
Even after.
I tell you I miss you, get lonely for you,
Not to make your spirits sag or to erase
The smile from your face.
I am only sharing a feeling of caring, of wanting and
Needing -
As constant as the midnite hour,
As natural as winter's snow and
Summer's warmth,
Spring time flowers,
As that clandestine moon...
The stars
The trees
The grass...
I love you!
Miss you when we are not together!
I get lonely for you!

In winter I miss spring time rains,
In summer, I miss the coldness of snow!

Cold Love

Clumsey, rough, unkind woman
On long winter’s nights, under the blankets lies your cold heart. A coiled serpent calculating it’s next move from its frozen state. I am just a pair of hands and legs it needs, trained with the burn of venom. You know how to feed me just enough of what feels like love to keep me from leaving. A carefully calculated amount weighed against the loneliness that waits outside the door, ready to possess my mind like a madness. A terror I cannot face. So your venom withers my soul just a little more.

An Aura She Is

My eyes this evening are delighted by what they see
An aura, a Spanish maiden, dances in front of me

Flowing locks of darkened curls sway left to right
Towards me she moves in wonder on this Scottish winter night

Her eyes in penetration my soul now captured so
My hand she takes in hers to the floor we wanting go

Shoulder to shoulder we dance, aroma of she so close
Her perfumed nape delights as our evening gracefully flows

Whispers are softly shared amidst touches of soft caress
Closer and closer we hold, in dance our bodies impress

On this Scottish winter night, an aura dances with me
Two souls finally together, perhaps it was meant to be

Last Rain

I lost something in the rain
I lost my tears and I lost my love
You are like a winter cold
And I was not known that you would be with me for some time
You never said me that you will leave me
I went in deep and deep in love with you
From where I cannot come back
Why did you do this
Why you left me in the last rain

I lost something in the rain
I lost you and I lost my hopes
I am waiting for the winter cold
By standing in the last rain
I am feeling every rain as the last one
And by seeing the next rain, my eyes are flooding up
Hoping this would be the last rain
Now I am missing the winter cold
And I am missing you in this last rain

I lost something in the rain
I lost my smile and I lost my heart
Many winters were gone and many last rains
With a hope that you would me in this winter
I am still fully drenched in this last rain
And welcoming the next winter
come soon my love
I am waiting for you in this last rain

I lost something in the rain
Now I lost me and I lost my self

Queen of the ice your weapons subdue and enslave me in your sub-zero

Buckling in your snowy storm my remains now coated in white

Above the lake abele trees are golden
Now that autumn has reached its pinnacle
Two muted swans surrounded by reflective color

My Friend - My Love

My friend the sun is setting and the days will soon grow cold.
What is new must grow old.
The spectacular scene of swarming rays beside crystal light must dim to shade.
Those ravishing ripples will soon grow course and fun in the sun will strike a pause.
Wind will bellow like a swarm of bees or biting ants that maze the moulding mud.

To conflict but to confide will only heighten winters pride.
Damnation two competing souls will draw to an un-victorious pause.
Yet no battle is ever won to humans the war continues on.

My love, a plea is as contceptive as talk within actions truth is bred.
Cruelty is masked by normality, charms of a conquest is often too lightly walked into.
You have beaten one clever soul, whose grip was fun but turned cold.
Now deceit grows a new face one who knows not his inflicting ways.

My friend I love to waltz in summertime’s brew however dreamers fall in line.
Lions await the waiting feline.
Crickets click and fish do swim whose lake do you jump in?

My love the summer often wins first prize but even winter has a golden side
Embellish in the colours summer offers you, but allow winter to warm you.
Lick the fire as you kissed the sun.
Feel heaven in four seasons yet to come.

My friend, loneliness will hold us down consuming us with the rain that beats us down.
My love, reverse that beating to walk what’s knew.
Enjoy your existence, the diamonds is within you.

My friend happiness is not just sun, in finding joy in the seasons four
And loving the gems that you live for.

Summer Mourned

In coldness of a winter night
With sliver of a moon for light,
I walk along the frozen way,
Remembering a summer's day.
A day when flowers bloomed in pride
And brightened up the country-side.
The trees encased in green array,
Whispered "The easy times will stay".
But loveliest of days don't last ,
Too soon the verdant beauty's past
And with our lives and loves in pain,
We doubt the lushness comes again.
Come, come, my love and walk with me.
The wind is blowing out to sea.
Seasons forever roll around.
Lost summer's love can be refound.
We'll seek the violets where they hide,
The daffodil's winter abide.
The tiny snowbells showing through,
Are proof enough love can renew.
Triumphantly, one bright spring day,
The blossoms as a love bouquet
Will cheer a winter near dried heart.
Just so a true love can restart.

Seasonal Change (Angel of Sadness)

As my soul dwells in your past
I kill for this moment to pass
Al though I smile
I find myself more and more suppressed
As if, your casket was buried in my chest

Yes, I breathe
For I believe
I am promised to leave

And I hate the winter
All the days of September
I hate the center of a broad frost December

And as the night expires
My fright assumes your desires
I feel I am not the child I used to be
The privilege of this substance abuses me
I hate to be the selfish man I have become
But as if it were fate
Sadness reigns past noon for some

I hate the winter
All the days of September
I hate the center of a broad frost December

The Hut

A soft blowing breeze lifted her sun bleached hair
The sea crashes on the jagged rocks below her perch
Her eyes, the gray shade of a distant floating cloud
She turns on bare feet and cautiously moves away

A seagull sails in the updraft at the cliff’s edge
The small trail snakes upward to a winter meadow
Her mind wanders as she knowingly climbs the path
She pictures the smiling eyes of the Moon Goddess

A rebirth of the God will come with winter winds
The snowy grass baths her feet as she tops the cliff
Her hands brush high weeds as she returns to the hut
She enters by sliding behind a thick tanned hide

A fire burns within the comfortable warm home
The flames lick a clay caldron simmering sweet scents
Her hand lifting a burning stick at fire’s edge
She moves toward the small altar with lighted wand

A shell of ground incense and two candles are lighted
The cup of spring water and fresh herbs are offered
Her soft knees bend as she kneels before the altar
She calls the Goddess and God to her safe circle

Oh, Goddess and God
Please open my eyes
To the secret magic
Of Nature

Your eyes across my soul

Its time to face the truth croons the singer on the radio and I die
Curling up in to a ball pulling my hair out and screaming
Because I know this to be true
I will be there again when it snows and snows
I will be there again if you call
I will be there again if you whisper out my name
In the eyes of my memories you're beautiful
In the breaths I stole with my camera you're beautiful
Across these lips that will never touch yours again you're beautiful

I thought I heard you call out my name tonight
But I knew you weren't home
In the cold under the city lights beneath the blanket of night
What if it was you I think now as I linger
But you weren't home
And still...
I wish I had turned around
To see you standing there in the gently falling snow
But I thought you weren't home

I have lost sleep tonight and I may never sleep again I fear
Because I don't know what to do
I don't know where to turn, where to go
So that I may, I might,
Dream of your smile and your eyes across my soul
You're so beautiful,

I let slip this pen from my fingers
Staining these last few lines I know it to be true
And I don't really care about that now
I will never be with you I know, I know...

And this is the truth I must learn to face

Across the Lines

Winter sits in sorrow
No happiness to borrow
No joy to give
No reason to live

Fall was so beautiful
But turned its back towards a less plentiful
Winter sitting in agony
Forever going down in infamy

Winter did love the fall
But the fall did not love at all
The winter's embrace
And cast it asunder with eloquent grace

The winter swore it would never love
Again but as the sun shone from above
Winter become warm like never before
Leaving it to beg for more

Spring had entered Winter's life
Helping winter forget its inner strife
Warming the hardened heart
Which fall had torn apart

The winter became carefree
Never wishing to see
The cold which surrounded
Its soul agonizingly grounded

As the winter looked towards the Spring
Wondering what joys it would bring
It refused to look back
The winter refused its heart to turn black

HEAR THE UGLIEST WORDS

My letters, somewhat unrealistic and poetic, have always been sweeter
than long kisses, making you feel happy and float on sun-lit clouds,
but little did I know that you secretly flirted with guys on Tweeter;
read this last one: your unfaithfulness is obvious and can't dispel doubts!

Hear the ugliest words coming from my angry mouth,
once they were the notes of songbirds, now they've turned very  bitter;
but you like them waited for Fall to migrate South...
selfish, selfish heart you ran from me when snowflakes sprinkled the air!

This coming winter can be my loneliest...I won't have any of your kisses...
I'll sit alone to watch the first snowfall and hear the Northern wind hiss!

Just the two of us together

Taking this crazy chance

To be all alone

We both know it has taken forever

But if we are found out

It will break our homes

The tether along with its dance

Pools in our eyes

Northern lights in the skies

Not a palm oil light in sight

To pierce this cold winter night

Here we sit

In this old mossy park

We two in the dark

The wise old blue jay flies

His flock may be spies

Or they are carrier pigeons

Winging dubious lies

The grist mill flows

In its easy mourning clothes

The church steeple sleeps

And the tree top sighs

A soft breeze blows

And the journey cakes rise

The hope we share

Is a tendered feather

Someday we’ll be discovered

Loved ones will care

Cupboards to be bare

And the threads that bind us;

 a half-life of heather

So with pools in our eyes

Northern lights in the skies

Not a sound or street lamp in sight

To pierce this winter night

Live for the moment

A tear in our eyes

Soon we must bid elastic goodnight

There My Love goes Amaying

There shall my love go amaying,
in love with her own deliverance,
entitled to her own fait
and she cares not of me,
nor my broken heart anymore.

Watch her go amaying,
as I sit alone
in winter's storms,
and I shall wait for her,
till days come 'round,
till she comes home again,
too love me once more,
no more shall my love go amaying.

My Vine

My Vine
BY HEROLDOSMOND OWOSEB
Though thy leafs are dry in the winter
The taste of thy sweet love keeps my roots wet
Though thy stem doubt’th to see the fruit of it’s perseverance
With determination I anchor my trust in the smell of thy fragrance

Winds blow mightily along the seeds of my love but fear’th I not
For my love is not just a seed
It germinated long before the birth of the wind
My love a whisper so soft though so powerful
So fairy but always true

Though pictures of doubt overpower my state of mind during the day
A soft gentle whisper wakes me at night
“Do not frown, do not drown in the thought of loss
Thee will love and thee will be loved.
Thy heart will rejoice in the thought of everlasting happiness”

My beauteous queen
Though thee be uncertain of thyself and loose sight of thy beauty
I shall be thy eyes; I shall remove thy doubt
The echo of thy voice may drift out to sea
But the melody of thy song, will bring forth a soothing breeze to my soul

Forever I will write
For the color of my love ought never to be red
It will blossom with orange
For my love is neither dead nor fading
It is as fresh as the first day of spring

No longer will there be a winter
For the dangers of winter, are no longer dangers to fear
Simply reminders of my endurance
Though thy reply may faintly fade like the color of the leafs
The roots of my vine will be eternally impregnable

                                                                                                                 8 June 2011

A Winter Kiss

All our words wear winter clothes
Leaving little to expose
The weak sunlight taps on your face
Slow motion seems to be the proper pace

The air is heavy and deep
A stare we love to keep
Snow falling like fluff
sometimes words aren't enough

We stand in the cold
Waiting for our story to unfold
We don't feel the wind blow
Only our warmth flow

Under the dim sun light
Only your blue eyes are in sight
My lips in warm bliss
As we share a winter kiss

A warm breath we share
Its a little bit to much to bear
She pulls away, eyes dancing
She gives her house a glancing

She speaks in a quiet voice
We don't have a choice
She pulls away
She can't delay

She give me a shining smile
I stand there for a while
the warmth still there
I trudge home half aware

I lay in my bed
I feel half dead
Smile still on my face
I drift to that familiar place

another year

another year has finished its foward dance one more year maybe one more chance.
as these seasons are born then die it happens so fast they way times fly by
one day the sun bright and blinding your eye the next day its gone only clouds in the sky
color of the winter drains you the endless gray another season for it all to go away
how can one stand beside the clock counting away the year tick tick tock
a constant reminder of our finite time a constant countdown to the final chime
and every year i try to keep the chin high alas every year till the day i die
every fall brings a pang of regret for those i love and those i neglect
the leaves die making room for the new i think we all do the same thing too
spring speaks of a fresh start and relief to those with heavy winter hearts
the promise of sun and a new begining a small clue in alife with little meaning
summer comes we wait all year the days are long the skys are clear
radiating sun keeps energys high but summers so short no matter how hard one trys
so many memories attached to these seasons a million guesses a hundred reasons
the smell of the flower that blooms in may always reminds of long forgotten day
crisp air before the very first snow always hints to me somthing i should know
even thoe this life is so short and fast i would trade nothing fo all the seasons past
i put down my pen and start to reflect no matter what lifes amazing in retrospect
so live each season like it was the end lifes not measured on a watch my friend
its weighed in the hearts of those lived it every ounce day by day bit by bit
another year has gone away so weigh your love everyday kept in a safe place
doesnt matter what this is your life your day keep to that you cant lose face
another year has completed its run soon enough once again greeted by the sun

Winter Rose

I lay here in the stillness of night
Like last night, the night before
Alone with no one to hear my voice
Echoing in the silence against these walls
That slowly close in each night, tonight, every night

I watch these winds outside my window
Brushing the cold snow across the valleys between trees
And I cannot help myself from wondering
If the cold chill scratches at your window
Whispering in shivers across your shoulders of our pain

Does it echo my love instead?
Does it dream of you like I do?
Does it hold our love like a rose?
Does it breathe across your neck?
Like I do, have done, will do again

I watch the languid snows falling to the ground
Down through the canopy of remembered leaves
A many folded memory they cup fast within
Of you, of me when in these arms you bathed
Inside the rhythms of our hearts beating like one

I shiver within the memory of your body next to mine
Of the way you fit beside me as we two slept to dream
Until dawn broke with pastel shadows across our bed
To fall upon you the Rose of lush and vibrant life
In each moment cast of whispering light from dawning day

I remember watching you in those moments
As if it were this morning, yesterday, the day before
And this memory fills the bed that yawns beside me
Of your waking eyes and smile beneath the first ray of light
When you looked so fragile with a foreshadow of strength

I see you my love everywhere these eyes do fall
In the roses of winter only these eyes can see
I see you smiling in the falling snow bathed in moonlight
In the wind billowing across the twilight earth
I remember you in every shiver to touch my shoulders

Each an echo of your love
Each a dream touching my skin
Holding your soul as if it were a rose in bloom
For this heart still singing of your embrace
And I do, every night, each night, this night

I think of you
And of the day, the morning when . . .
My Winter Rose
I see you smiling

The Drugs

Last week of my summer break
Hanging with my friends like always
Thats when I stumbled acrossed you
And suddenly I felt my heart grew weak

Instantly I fell in love with you, thats no lie
My soul fell for you as soon as I looked into your eyes
For they looked as though the sun was shining
directly into them

He looked at me with more compassion
Then I had ever felt
Talking all summer just me and him
About everything and about nothing

What changed that autumn??
Was it your new friends
Because I saw what you did to your old ones
What made you into this kind of monster???

Although I never told you how I felt
I would still stay up at night and cry about it
Then the final day came when I found out the truth
How drugs were destroying the man I loved

From autumn to winter and from winter to spring
I couldn't believe how different you looked
Your eyes no longer shined like the sun
Your muscles weaker than ever before

I knew you were dying, I told you to stop
But you told me you didn't care
I wanted to leave you
But I knew you needed me now more than ever

Summer comes around, schools are getting out
And off you left, leaving me all alone on this earth
Not even old enough to graduate and yet your gone
I never stopped warning you, but I still feel I'm to blame

From One Season To Another

We met in the SUMMER. Our love was, from the beginning, as the summer sun
is, in it's warmth and brightness,...
and as refreshing as a dip in a mountain brook.

Then came FALL. As the days grew shorter, likewise did our patience and
understanding for one another. Our dreams turned from brilliant to rust colored,
along with the leaves on the trees. Our love was put away,...as if a squirrel had
hidden it for another day.

The snow fell soon afterwards, and WINTER was here. Each storm left us bound
together by only a thin thread of ice, not strong enough to hold up against the
destructive blizzard that came,...and left all in ruins.

But like tiny seeds that have fallen to the ground and taken root, was our love,
waiting for the first ray of sunshine that came with SPRING,...to wake it from a
winter's nap.

SUMMER was the time for us to rebuild all that had been lost in the bitter cold of
December. We struggled to construct a life. But like a dam that beavers had
worked on for so long, pieces started drifting away one by one, until the dam
wasn't strong enough to hold the pressure of the rapids,...feelings were
scattered and time was lost.

Fall brought the fog which served as a means of camouflage to hide the
emptiness that lingered. Harvest time was near,...but the fields were bare.

Much fuel is needed to warm the cold winter months, and there isn't much hope
that there will be enough to get us through,...another season.

WHEN WINTER COMES

When winter comes
And the first snowflakes fall
Who is the first one in my thoughts?
Who is the first person I call

When winter comes
And there is a fresh fall of snow
Who makes snow angels with you?
Is it that you’re the best angel maker I know?

When winter comes
And there’s fresh snow on the ground
Who builds the snowman with you?
Is it that you make the best snowmen around?

When winter comes
And we spend all of our time together
Have you ever wondered why?
Do you think that I just like the snowy weather?

When winter comes
There is a reason why every winter I call you
It’s the same reason I’ve had since we were seven
I’ve wanted to tell you but have been to scared to

When winter comes
The reason I pull off your wet gloves?
And the reason I gently warm your cold hands?
Is that you’re the one I love

Rain

The harshness of winter has finally past.
Springtime is upon us finally at last.
No more dulldrums of winter to tax my brain, and the season I love the best
espically the rain.

I could sit and watch as the flowers and the trees flurish and bloom,
and I know that because of natures miracles all the colors will be out soon.

Finally I love to walk out ,and look up,and feel the rain trickle on my face,
take off my shoes and socks and jump from puddle to puddle all ove the place.

But at last all good things must come to an end. The sun is coming out and
gone is the rain, my friend.
As I sit on the porch with the sun glistening in my eyes, I cant help but wonder
how long before the next storm comes by.

long while ago

a colder winter than I remember
much more than the one before
that's when I had you for warmth
that was a long while ago

can you feel me letting go?
can you feel me slipping away?
does it mean anything to you?
as it all starts to quickly fade

I don't think you could see
how much this all hurt me
as I fought not to let it show
as I tried just to let it be

and it's colder than I remember
colder than the winter before
and it won't get any warmer
when I can finally close this door

Far Beneath the Bitter Snow

Hidden deep and frozen solid,
A whisper hidden away from all.
A thought, a feeling far below
Far beneath the bitter snow.

The white seems so clean and pure,
Hiding secrets deep within,
Growing deep and deeper below,
Far beneath the winter snow.

Waiting for its time to rise,
A season away from its time,
A blossom growing far below,
Far beneath the winter snow.

Not all blooms make it to spring,
Not all plants live through the cold,
But hope keeps it growing deep below,
Far beneath the winter snow.

Changing seasons

I walk outside and suddenly I feel upon my face the briskness of the cold winters breeze
The wonderfulness of white snow now covers any evidence on the ground of falls' leaves
I'm in an amazement of just what I have been through the last few years and how far I have
actually come
But I know my journey's not over yet realizing it also has not just begun
I'm stuck here in the middle not sure which way to go
My words to him need to be spoken and very much heard yet all is cold just like the winter
wind and snow
I need to see him so through my eyes he'll know
I say what I mean and mean what I say when I say I love only him deeply so
All my love towards him I have to show
For him it took me so long to again find
Now that I have I just can't leave what I feel for him once again behind
So let the winter turn back into spring
Let us see the flowers and rain showers that the season brings
Then have spring bring in the summer days
With the children outside having so much fun running around in play
And then let it come around to the summer changing into fall
The leaves turning wondrous colors and effortlessly flowing to the ground and we know what
comes next yes everyone can recall
Seasons come, seasons go but I'll still love him right through it all

Sun

The sun-sparkle of this summer has gone
It leaves a bad taste in my mouth

That hot, heady heat seeping through the cracked pavement
Seemed to create the chaos and din

But only the dark mist of winter is left
And somehow it doesn’t seem quite right.

How did I loose my mind you ask?
A different city, a different beat

As the sun shone on that splintered pavement
My heart pushed my head out the way.

Now I am back in the familiar I have to ask who I was
I’m not sure you know, but I hope I never come back.

For now, as the ache of the cold winter sets in
And I am back in that familiar face,

I can only assume the sun was to blame
In that warm, unfamiliar place.

winter wonderland

Winter Wonderland
We were stuck,
In that winter wonderland.
Flowers froze,
Announcing are intimacy
More delicate than a rose.
The touch,
The feel,
Of you’re your hardworking hands.
Swallowed and took over,
My memory glance.
Glazed over eyes,
Putting me in a perpetual lust.
Making my guards weaken
Needing no knowledge of trust.
We were stuck.
In that winter wonderland.
Holding on to stolen kisses
Keeping warm.
Putting us in forever bliss.
For me it was more,
For you it was less.
We were stuck
In that winter wonderland.
Trust,
No knowledge of it.
When you said we were safe
I believed
When you said that you love me
I believed
But trust there was no trust.
That touch
That feel.
White powered noses
Had us stuck.
In that winter wonderland.
Never seeing the spring or fall.
The spring of your disease
And the fall of our wonderland.
We were not stuck
But afraid.
To move, to leave
Because me not knowing
And you not showing.
Lead me to believe
That we were free.
No protection needed.
It was like letting a ship sail
Through full of diseases.
I never knew that those
3 letter words would end my life.
Aids
Damn I didn’t think twice.
And that white,
Beautiful snow we snorted
Had me feeling distorted.
Stuck in that winter
Wonder land.

Winter Pleasures

The trees are bare, now comes cold air
The breezes howl this night
I’m toasty warm, secured by charm
As we hold each other tight

This winter evening…
As the sun descends…
The moon is smiling…
No love pretends…
It’s all for real, dear…
As we stay inside…
The winter frowns…
While in here, we hide…

Our winter pleasures…
Are year round dreams…
When come the fires…
With snow filled scenes…
We’ll feel the softness…
As our hands embrace…
Reflecting fires, bright…
With red cheeked face…

Winter winds chasing, while love’s erasing
The many sounds we hear
We’re holding so tight, by the fire this night
As our bodies stay so near

Old mister winter…
Turn away from our door…
For we won’t answer…
We won’t give you more…
The room is ignited…
By this fire inside…
On this winter evening…
In here, we’ll hide…

Winter Rose

The cold is coming on
the wind is moaning high above
the frozen days are long,
let's build a fire, my love

When winter's gone
will you still keep me warm?
When dark skies clear,
will you leave with the storm?

Outside, our noses freeze
a chill comes whistling through
in drifts up to our knees,
hot when I look at you

When winter's gone,
will you still linger on?
As spring arrives then
where will you be found?

The snow floats gently down
each white lace flake unique
There's no one else around
and we've no need to speak

The sky holds icy stars
that gleam against the crystal blue
the city lights are far
and I'm closer to you

When winter's gone,
will memories stay long?
When icy streams thaw,
will I be alone?

Four Seasons

The leaves turn brown as autumn comes in
As does our friendship which now comes near an end
There was time well spent as we frolicked in the sun
But now all the ties must come undone

It is believed we are here for only a season
To stay past that there must be a reason
But if you can not fulfill your obligation
I bid you farewell as I take on the nation

Our hearts turn cold as winter befalls us
Not white like snow but bleak like the trees around us
Our feelings are buried and there’s no room for growth
This ‘ship that we have death has a hold

Winter has come and I search for new warmth
While you hold on to your cool in search of my warmth
I’ve locked the door and I’ve stoked the fire
You bring me warmth with a heart of ice, you are a liar

The cabin is set and the healing has come
A knock at the door and spring has begun
Her radiant smile and that vibrant energy
The bird and the bees work in beautiful synergy

The April showers bring in May flowers
And the walls built up over winter come down like the towers
To bring in a new and revitalizing feeling
And appreciate what life has done to bring in some healing

Then summer sets in and the passion turns hot
A nice cold shower to bring it to not
The sand in our toes, the sun on our backs
Step on a crack and break your mother’s back

The games kids play, we’re having our fun
The world all around us, enjoying what is beneath the sun
Cold still tries to creep in through the heat of the day
But through all the four seasons, I want you to stay

So it is known people are only around for a season
And as said before to stick around longer there must be a reason
If I dismissed you please don’t come back
And if you dismissed yourself there is no helping that.

Everything is Jolly

Everything is jolly
As we string the walls {with lights}
And frolic in the snow
Everything is jolly
As we deck the halls {tonight}
With holly and mistletoe (Chorus)

Oh, out in the snow
Along the sides of our little house
As the winter sun glowed
I put up the lights with my spouse
Then she said, "There he goes"
As I climbed to the top of the tree
To cut the mistletoe
She gathered it and sung along with me

(Chorus)

Oh, out in the snow
Along the sides of our little house
As the noon sun glowed
We trimmed the holly to make boughs
Then we took some old clothes
And put them on our frosty man
She laughed and began to throw
Balls of snow and around the yard she ran

As I gave chase
We fell with sweet expressions
In that place
Made two angel impressions
Then hand in hand
We kissed like happy Eskimos
Then from this winter wonderland
We went inside to warm our toes

(Chorus)

Oh, under the mistletoe
Surrounded by holly in our little house
As the Christmas tree glowed
I sat at the table with my child and spouse
With a centerpiece, a rose
We thanked the Reason for the Season above
For food, shelter and clothes
Because better is a little than a lot without love

Dedicated to Chrissy

I DREAMED OF YOU

I dreamed of you
On a winter night
That one day
Under a Heartstone moon
We would meet
Soon
That it would be right

I dreamed of you
Of times past
Wished you were here too
Love to last

I dreamed of you
Close to me
The rise and fall of your chest
On a winter night
Is all I want to see

I dreamed of you
In a Heartstone summer
Your eyes, the colour of sky
Hand in hand
Running through
Forest and meadows too

I dreamed of you
You cannot stop
The emotional tide
That one day
I will be here
By your side

Can't We

The winter went away
and you came along
wish you well, I
wish to tell you so much

Can't we come and go
but never leave
we must believe
the tides that brought us
can't we?

Can't we listen in
to secrets safe here
keep them til' we're
old and grey, someday
can't we?

I found a strawberry hair
upon my sweater
but left it there
for when I next time wear it

And spring is 'round us
reddening your face
and bringing out the freckles
finely strung across it

Can't we love like love
is itself our own
yet unknown
to all the wide world
can't we?

Can't we lie down now
in softer grass
as it may be our last
night with the stars all flick'ring
can't we?

The winter went away
and you came along
wish you well, I
wish to tell you so much

Waiting For You

'm still waiting for you
in my mind
Though in reality I've left
you behind

Just like winters ice
 and snow
Seasons have to change
I know

But I'm still waiting, wishing
hoping
Wondering just how you're
coping

With not seeing me like I'm
not seeing you
I wonder if you even feel
the same way I do

I never could tell really how
you were feeling
You seemed hurt, you seemed lonely
like you're heart needed healing

And in my mind I still see you
as clear as can be
and everywhere you are there
you're always with me

And the things that I vision
are like sewing the seams
and those seams turn to schemes
that get lost in my dreams

I can feel the cold air and
as I touch you're skin
Swirls of snow come and go
as I wake up again

As I think of you're face
and that time and that place
I miss you much more than
I missed you before

I always do wonder
if you even remember
that day you turned around
at the end of December

And you spoke those words
and I looked in you're eyes
You said I liked standing behind you
yes time truly flies

Since that moment you said that
has it been months or years
My sense of time fell behind somewhere
lost in my tears

And that chill, yes the chill
I loved you and the cold
But they said I was to young
and that you were to old

But I don't believe them
and I hope you don't too
I was just to shy to ask
if you feel like I do

And than it was to late
for words I needed to say
and before I even knew it
The time flew away

And its how now, so hot now
cause Summer is here
But Winter still grips me
I can still feel it near

And so now I am waiting
very calm, very still
In my mind all the time
For that cold winter chill

Satisfaction in an Afternoon

Just as much as the paper oaks layer
and fall back on shuffling feet
to crisp up the air of the grayest of days
leaving the feeling of winter complete
this is how much I am yearning for you
stringing my nights with burnt fire flies
completing my breathing with thoughts of your own
blown transient and electrified
Wrapping this scarf of desire much tighter
knotting the noose in my stride
Shuffling my feet without purpose or fire
miserable winter inside
Stingy of skin to the chill in the air
Hear you at every turn
Paper oaks wanting a reason to blow
their leaves off this infinite yearn.

To the Winter's Reconcile

Our shoulders touched electric as we walked
through sleet and grey impending winter snow
To reconnect devotion as we talked

it seemed, before I spoke, you seemed to know
There never was another kindred heart
and in my frozen breath I told you so

We hurried through the city streets gone dark
We laughed in nervousness way past our prime
We knew that every ending had a start

and on this winter night was your's and mine
The streets absorbed our words to fallen feuds
and slicked the surface skin up to a shine

We stopped in our reflection to imbue
three cheers for happy endings to unfold
when happiness to most of us eludes

and superficial endings, truth be told,
are often left to rest in winter sleet
and buried in the weight of winter snow.

Perfect Love

Our love is as fresh as the rain of

A winter morning in may..

As soft as the first, winter fluffy

Snow..

In spring the red bird sings

Love wrap me so tenderly in

June..

As the snow birds fly in may

Our love sustain to endure all

Troubles of life...

Holding stead fast to our hearts

From a love that was made inside

Heaven..

Where our spirits will roam...

Our souls so perfectly entwine for

This love song I sing..

A HEART OF COLD

 the darkness falls...the winter night
and I'm afraid....my love's not right

you squall around the cabin doors,
you seep through rosin in the floors,

cold ,so cold you have become,
it seems your heart has frozen numb
come thaw the ice that stills your blood
I feel the floe, the mental flood,
of icebergs drifting,arctic bound,
beneath your chilling kiss I found,
slivers hanging from your lips,
icicles of death that grip

and there solidify the clime.....
zero in this soul of mine,
please don't haunt me as before
don't wrap your grief around my core
though true love is as strong as death
I can't survive your icy breath

the darkness falls....the winter night,
and I'm afraid......my love's not right.

Answering Jonji

Walk on almond paths
of winter sprigs and thyme
floating upward under steps
you left for me in rhyme
I wish to counter balance
your magnitude and flow
with a whisper and an echo
like the winter winds which blow
Crisp inhale and wonder
with a cup of fresh brewed bliss
while the loose exhale of winter
turns my thoughts toward those I miss
You always memorize me
while you turn to me in kind
with a moment and a whisper
which you always leave in rhyme
I love you like forever
as you warm my hands in yours
as we wind on down our sensory paths
and land on different shores...

Winter Tide

You fold up my heart, accordian style
You sink me an anvil or two
You tailor my blood to the scent of your skin
You call me and I answer you.

I'm spent by the sound of your footsteps
The trees flutter so nervously
The winter holds off 'till you kiss her and then
she puts summer to sleep gracefully.

I fall to the edge of the ocean
I wink to the starfish divine
You give me the gift of this chilled winter tide
I sink wishing you were still mine.

The winter of the Heart

The Winter of the heart is where the heart is cold and ridged to the love of Christ unable to worship Him.
However, there is a spring to the winter of the heart.
If we just give our hearts to Jesus, He can bring heat to the willing heart and unfreeze it with His warm and loving spirit,
Giving us the love we so desperately need.
His amazing grace gives the unsaved a place of refuge.
Filling the emptiness inside the ridged heart with love, peace,
and joy. Renewing their strength and faith.
Overflowing their cup with a blessing only Jesus can give with His touch. He toughs the winter of the heart, turning it into a spring day of rain that melts the snow away.
In addition, giving even the most lost heart a way to pick up their cross forever, carrying it on

Symphony of their Songs

I began to get lost,
in those eyes again.
But your interrupting lies,
Bring me back to life.
I'm torn between what was,
And is,
And is to be.
Although i don't know
What is to be,
to be our future.

We play the instruments,
That string together,
The notes of our fate.
The debate of who we are to be,
Together or forever apart.

Life continues to move on.
Through the winter storms,
Against the warm fires,
Or in the blizzard outside.
We'll make the choice,
To be alone
Or to join alongside,
The symphony of of their songs.

Oh, life its a broken
And fault filled road.
And you are the one,
The one that makes it all this way
To blame you alone,
Would be a sin.
So ill throw the rest on my shoulders
again.

Life continues to move on.
Through the winter storms,
Against the warm fires,
Or in the blizzard outside.
We'll make the choice,
To be alone
Or to join alongside,
The symphony of of their songs.

Winter's End

The snows with their chilled touches
Are melting, have melted, and now are gone
As if welcoming the return of all feathered creatures soaring wide and free
Coming home now from their long absence of many seasons
Heralding spring’s return beneath the blessing of this the evening star
	Because she breathes

The sky is bright full off glimmering stars
In the night, this night, in every night to fall
Whispering of Damson Brea tahllana sae’sallien; child of the twilight singing
With her shimmering eyes that part the gentle folds of night
To guide us back from the depths of the moonless sky and into day
	Because she sees

The grasses bloom for miles all around
But I am lost, I am beguiled, and I am cast adrift
Within the sensation of my curled toes beneath the licking earth
With her lush wonder born once more all over again
From the heart of the longest winter it comes running in silence and still
	Because she sighs

There are fires on the horizon shinning brightly tonight
Breathing across the skyline captivated by its cold embrace
I watch all of this from a cold rock over looking the sea
Blue and deep it is like her soul this ocean divide
Filled with her silent tears that have yet to fall, may fall, will fall
Of all her memories dancing quietly of past, of present and futures deep
I stand listening to the sound of spring’s return in the cold
	Because she cries

Here on the edge of nights and days past this way before
Washed with the spraying mist of dreams remembered
My breath shivers from me to escape in frost
Though high above the sun beats down to sear the earth and this rock
I am cold for I see in those eyes a knowing deep and sundered so like my own
I am cold for I cannot help but to see all that she is and needs to be
I am cold despite the end of the long winter I am chilled to my soul
	Because she cares
		Cares enough to try

Winter of our lives

In the winter of our lives, as we are lain to our final rest
We rest with generations from long ago
As time goes on and it comes to the day
That Christ returns, we will rise up to meet Him
With generations of past, meeting those of present
What a glorious day that will be!

Can you imagine? The skies filled with His glory …
The earth witnessing His majestic power …
As angels … and the children of God,
Sing in loud jubilation ... loud jubilation!
Of Christ Jesus’ return.
All of heaven sings out His name!

I fear not the winter season of my life
With great anticipation of the joy to come
I long for that day, to see His face …
To stand in His presence … to reign with Him
FOREVER in my Father’s house!
Until that time arrives, I live my life for Him!
Today and always until my time of rest.

Hawks

Hawks love winter and the
smell of death,
riding on bonfire winds,
dancing in cancerous snow flurries,
hanging razor icicles on overflows,
hawks love this aroma.

It’s not like napalm in the morning,
or the perfume of glory,
more the sewer whiff
of old mustard gas,
of dead sheep bloated with bad oxygen,
of flesh surrendered to decay.
Not like kerosene and detergent,
fire and fairy liquid,
throat-scouring clean,
nasal passage acrid,
pretty red and
phosphorous green to the eye.

Not like that at all.

Hawks are hunter killers,
black marbles for eyes,
beaks like stitched wounds,
wings like feathered shrouds,
spines like lightning conductors.

Hawks love such terrain,
wastelands of possibility,
tactical genocides,
surgical strikes
pecking orders.
They love winter and the
smell of death
like a lark’s tongue mistress,
a carrion lover betrothed,
a feral nightmare,
a neuropath dream,
or the favourite ghost
of ideology and empire
passing unto dust.

Seasons

For some reason
Our seasons keep repeating
We met in the spring, filled with flings.
 Come Autumn you were gone.
I worried and looked for you in the Fall,
Hoping you’d appear but you disappeared. In to Winter
Lost in the fog, It rained for quite some time, I thought
I did everything rite, I thought you would fight,
for the sun, to keep shining,
But it was blinding, like a flame

That wouldn’t blow out
The seasons changed and then u came
Things are still the same nothing new.
I thought fall taught you
I thought winter changed you
I thought Spring would make you see
We just weren’t meant to be
 So let me go,
Find a new reason to believe in…
So I can have a new season

Missing

The heavy winter draperies
were closed,
not allowing
any taste of sunshine
in the parlor
of the house.
She,
poised at the doorway,
stared into the room
remembering times
of shared conversation
laughs,
glasses of brandy
as they were sipped by
the winter fire.
Summer,
now upon her,
leaves her
with no hope
as winter claimed her
companionship
with icy fingers.
She closed the door
going about her day
as each day passes
and hopefully
time will make
it easier.
but for now,
she will
always remember.

Winter's Little Love

A hoary blanket lies across the ground
and the children love to be bitten in frost.
I watch the young girl purse her lips to purple
and still she enjoys the Winter bitterness.
In her fluffy pink mittens, she gathers a ball
made of crystals and dust- glowing under the sun.
And one toss becomes two or three to the boy
who eyes at her, blushing a red rush across his cheeks.

The day becomes night, and still over the hoary
blanket of Winter's bitterness, they played.
But I call in my daughter, and boy's father calls his son.
They wave good-bye, and eye to eye they gleamed.
Their young little love formed like a delicate crystal flake,
so fragile and so fun as it lasts.
And as winter goes, the snowflake melts all the way so fast.
