I saw you yesterday

I saw you yesterday

I saw you yesterday, your features grinned,
some silken scarf was waving in the blue,
I thought of what the rains could not rescind;
our images, that in the fields imbue.

I saw tempestuous, around me shades,
the rain's persistence had engraved your name
upon the slate, around she formed cascades,
inviting flash amid the drops, and flame.

I saw flash yesterday, inside the rain,
how beautiful it was, her kiss of dew
your words became my sails on trip arcane
the clouds, your messengers, 'mid skies to strew.

I sensed the crooked line reticulate,
the sulfur acrid smell and pale flame's hue,
transmuting to abderian road skate,
zigzagging on a water copper tube.

The flame transformed to runnel flowing laughs;
the rustling of droplets on the leaves,
combined the bright and shapely drawing graphs
with clouds to form above, celestial eaves.

I saw flash yesterday, my features grinned,
like silken scarf was waving in the blue,
I thought of what the rains could not rescind:
two images, amidst the fields imbue.

And This Rain

And This Rain

Your verse became a misty trip to distant links
maybe the reason of sun's dodging was false,
affection left behind the borderlines and brinks
reminds of your ethereal, betrothal pulse.

Our time is still, with eyes to shine, conceived,
so is your company, outside my car to stray,
a fog rescinds while slowly falls, two souls bereaved,
the arbor trees in dusky light, remote sway.

The nightly breeze becomes your touch upon my face,
conducts unknown my course to steady effuse,
our steadfast floats upon the brines that dreams encase,
a summer song of longing stills and souls' bemuse.

How many sentiments a railroad trip ascribes
beyond horizon's borderlines and faded strings,
caressing touch of fingertips by airy brides,
- your Sunday advent will become a bird that sings.

Perchance you are bending softly on my scriptures,
inside a car of an expatriating train,
while I recall on Storrow Drive, your nightly features,
- as we have missed our dreamy summer and this rain.

Gentle Summer Rain Art

Featuring:) Giorgio Veneto

She writes about Fall's beauty in the rain
The falling raindrops' dance ascribing thence
Bespoken verse that lightens her refrain
before the time they met - her steps commence.

She listens to the soft and rhythmic thrum,
her love turned to escape and cloudy string
Where nimbus mistletoe fell, tears to become
Their kiss of Autumn was symbolic ring.

The first light cotton mists with summer rays
While skyward cheerful laughs adorn the land,
their ceremonial dance diffuses grays,
affectionate embrace, where dreams expand.

Upon September's sky the raindrops gleam
With half of hidden Sun to laugh and beam.

The Universe of You

THE UNIVERSE OF YOU I have never seen a flower blush when I took it's hue and held it there a prisoner captive to my view. I have always heard the song that's in the autumn breeze playing taps in harmony with the forest leaves. I love the smell of rain that brings the springtime into bud and swells my love of nature into a teeming flood. I celebrate the cycle of the daytime into night and find an equal blessing in the shadow and the light. I've always felt affinity for all created things and surrender to the pleasure that their beauty brings. And though I could spent a lifetime sailing drops of dew I've never seen a universe as beautiful as you. I've often sat myself by gentle mountain streams and overflowed the dams that were holding back my dreams. I've breathed the scented forest on the mountainside and washed away my sorrows in an evening ocean tide. I've laid down in a meadow and debated with the moon and spent some quiet moments on the surface of Neptune. I got married to a zodiac with one of Saturn's rings then spied a super nova and went on a cosmic fling. I've run away to nebulae in galaxy brochures and bathed in scenes of wonders on distant planet shores. Every cosmos in creation could parade before my view but I've never seen a universe as beautiful as you. I've never seen a tree once withdraw it's shade and deny a creature the comfort of its aid. I've never seen any anger in the sun at noon when it burns relentlessly on the desert dune. At sunrise I take an oath to live with all my might and reinforce my gratitude each and every night. I could spend some hours riding on a crystal flake drifting wildly in a gale mindless of my fate. Many times I've been through trials or wind and rain and snow then sentenced to the splendors that the seasons show. And though I've searched throughout creation, I must say this is true I've never seen a universe as beautiful as you.

Her Name Was Rain - Collaboration with Casarah Nance

Rain, if you were warm I would dance in you,
I would be like the breeze and whip around you
Rain, since you are cold I'll stay away from you
Its such a bummer cause I want to play with you.

Thoughts of running through the rain with you
Makes my heart go insane for you
I'll hold your hand and slow dance with you
Alone in the grassy meadow just me and you

What would I give to beat along with you
Dripping on the tin shed of the roof with you
Making sweet music on the wind chimes with you
Wet and soft on a blanket in the fields with you

Rain, I'd spend the entire night with you
Enjoying the touch and feel of you
No looking back when I'm with you
Rain oh how I would love to dance in you

Rain how intense is that storm the comes with you
The thunder and lightening that stays with you
Its okay because I still want to change with you
Rain oh how I want to become one with you.

raindrops dance

raindrops dance

The falling
raindrops dance, a
bearing wall
retains his memories
of years before,
constructing
solitude, invite his
soul
and form continuum,
above to soar.

Reminding paragon
among beach plum,
intently they
behold, when words
indite,
a skyward calling
are the raindrops'
thrum,
the mirroring of
stares and souls'
invite.

And as the raindrops
dance around and
jump
belike she comes,
'mid silences aboard
foreshadowing the
rainfall drops that
thump,
their night defines
again the winds'
accord.

Her grandness in the
mistle's waving
forms
a solemn cause
became of diamond
storms.

Aboriginal Sin

We made arrows from feather and bone
before burning down our homes,
our footsteps slinking
over undulating, snow-covered hills.
____

The animals residing inside my head
follow me into the forest
where I cross streams to lose my scent.

Bugles blare in the distance,
but at my feet, the hounds lay open,
bleeding-out in morning's fresh snowfall.

These moments invoke an original sin.
I could fell a million men with the softest of blossoms -
slay a million men with a gentle, whispered caress.

And so I pray for my hate to be replaced by grace,

since you are the other half of my heart and hearth,
since you are also a victim to the plague,
it's all I can do, to atone for my Aboriginal sin.

rose-colored passion

it's raining again,
been this way for days;
swirls of graying clouds
hiding the blue of skies
and my eyes

my lips
seem wetter
than everything else
that rises
without sun,

the river's rising again,
perhaps higher than my own ego
as i lose myself
in the pockets of current.

current, and past events
build this dam
against what it is
that i love,

damn her
and them the same.

i lay, head down,
drowning
in the only breath i know

your chest
rising
and falling
between the sighs
that bridges
together
reality and dreams,

and i'm not giving up my last breath
through any of these storms
that fall from winded words,

instead, i'll keep breathing
deeper and deeper
attuned with your own breath,
as we make love, reality
from dreams

last night,
i saw a rainbow
through your eyes
and i settled myself
deeper in your heart
long before
you ever drifted off to sleep

this morning,
your gentle touch,
the arousal
of my dreams,
becomes the sun
through rose-colored passion,
and love again blossoms
blending all that is real
from little pockets of rain.

only the rain answers - - -

~ in my dream he watches and I feel his desire his need and I fear it, yet something lures me I sense him in my dark room and feel confusion it overwhelms me, I can hear his breathing close he whispers my name, it comes violently like thunder looking into his fathomless eyes I see love and hate then his lips are crushing mine, it is obsession he is evil, he is love, he is desire, he is cruelty go away, come back, I love you, I hate you he wraps his arms around me, oh the memory then the dream fades and I am left crying why does he haunt me but only the rain answers ~ Free Verse November 14, 2011

The Rare Moment

The Rare Moment

Sitting here enjoying the hard cascading rain
streams pouring down the very clear window pane

Thoughts streaming around the light in my head
still groggy a bit from a late rise from my bed

Awaiting the hot coffee that will singe my brain
like that sweet victory over hurt, a precious pain

Sitting here enjoying this most precious morn
so very happily pleased my wonderful son was born!

Robert J. Lindley, 06-28-2014

Don't you just love it when life says, " hey life is good,
enjoy your gifts and give thanks" ?
When that happens so often we just soak in the moment but
this time I interrupted mine to offer a short write....
