Newton's Laws

Here is Newton’s law one
Object with no force upon
If stationery will
Remain perfectly still
If moving will continue on

It’s easy to learn Newton’s Laws
All 3 are famous of course
For the second we say
Acceleration times mass equals force

Here is Newton’s law three
For every action there’ll be
A reaction we say,
In the opposite way,
Which equals the action we see

The Skateboarder

The Skateboarder
Dr. James E. Martin
©January, 2014

A skateboard he tried to ride.
He didn’t there long abide.
It went airborne,
It did not forewarn,
He landed on his under side!

These Coming Summer Days

Tis splendor in the grass these coming summer days
America’s youth can have their privileged adolescent ways
Swimming and playing or simply being laid back
They have little worries without any teacher’s flack
Enrich they youngish self before the inevitable groans of early Mondays

When you started drivin'
You'd want to go dive in
To the passion pits
And watch all the hits
At the good ol' Do-Drive-In

Girl in my Class

There once was a girl in my class.
One day I tried to make a pass.
My cheek still sting,
My ears still ring,
Yet married to me; Alas!

Limerick: Once a pregnant Teen saw a Barrister

Limerick : Once a pregnant Teen saw a Barrister

Once a pregnant Teen saw a Barrister
Thought she recognised the future Father
So she set him a trap
He rushed into her lap
Now she’s stuck with Twins, says Solicitor.

Job Interview

There once was a boy, named Abdul;
Went to get a job, fresh out of school.
All dressed up like July,
With a bow and a tie;
But left his fly open, what a fool!

My first ride quickly died contest

The day I was liberated and free,
After a hard summer job finally,
I picked up my used, “new car”
I did not park it that far
Suddenly there was a catastrophe

At sixteen, tears came pouring down my face
Through the window I watched in sheer disgrace
A man smashed into my baby
I ran out of work CRAZY
My Honda, short lived, was now a big mess.

Little Boy Blew

The story just might have been porn
That Little Boy Blue in the corn
For he’d gone and hid
For something he did
Trying to blow his own horn

A young lady still in her teens
Purchased a new pair of jeans
The jeans were too tight
And try as she might
She couldn’t help busting the seams

Twin Bullets

My teenage son proudly wears a Che Guevarra beret

and belts out liberation songs from Bob Marley's reggae,

                                       as he fixes the sink

                                     I hum along and think:

freedom, duty, twin bullets in life's most deadly roulette!

A Ghoul Named McDimple

There was a teen ghoul named McDimple
Who thought scaring kids would be simple
He'd moan and he'd groan
Just like he was shown
But the children just stared at his pimple.
