Wise Men Still Seek Him Today

W-hen the fullness of time had come, Jesus was born behind an Inn in a cave-like stable.
I-n the Inn there was no room for the Son of God, no room for the Saviour of men.
S-tar was shining so bright above the stable for the shepherds to find their way to Him.
E-ven angels proclaimed His birth to those shepherds "Unto you is born this day."

M-anger is where Mary and Joseph first laid him. It was filled with hay.
E-very animal there must have known that their Creator had come that day.
N-o one knew the depth of love God had, to give His Son to dwell among men.

S-ame star guided three kings from the Orient, who studied the stars and heavens.
T-hese wise men from the East came saying "Where is He that is born King"
I-n their hands they brought him gifts of gold, frankincense and myrr.
L-ike these three wise men, wise men still seek him today!
L-ove is the reason that God sent His only Begotton Son into the world to save us.

S-eeking for you and me, yes God was seeking for us because we had left Him.
E-veryone, yes, all we like sheep have gone astray. Everyone to his own way.
E-ach one has to make his on decision to follow Him or not to follow Him.
K-ing, born to be a King. King of the ages. King of the past. King of the future.

H-eaven, He came from Heaven to earth to show us the right way.
I-niquity, the Lord hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all.
M-elody, He gives us a sweet melody, we sing many songs of praise to Him.

T-ree, A Christmas tree, the love that Jesus had for us, to die on a tree.
O-nly one life and how soon it passes. Only in life can we accept His Love.
D-eliverance, He came from Heaven to preach deliverance to the captives.
A-cknowlege Him and accept Him. Behold now is the accepted time.
Y-ou, Yes, this Christmas Love was for You. Will You accept this love?

Pledge of love and loyalty

This pledge that l,Ntando, make today serves
as my guideline that I shall follow
happily, ungrudgingly and tirelessly
for the sake of our love life.
Indeed l am well aware of the fact that
the beauty of this pledge does not only lie
in word alone but in action as well.

For that reason in every season
I shall show steadfast commitment
to the implementation of this pledge
with a great deal of astuteness.
I therefore commit myself to be your
devoted and delivering husband for
all the years l shall live with you
on this earth.

I shall treat you with the love and care
you deserve as my wife.
Indeed l shall treat you with
the distinction and dignity
that is befitting of the queen of my heart.
That body, that bone, that breath
shall be my mine to treasure,
for sure;
a dearness to promote and protect
for dear life…and love!
I shall stand by and with you in all the
situations of our life.
If the situation demands that we sail,
sail we shall together.
If the situation demands that we
climb,
climb we shall together.

I know very well what l am getting into:
I am getting into a marriage that is
overflowing with blessings.
This marriage- with our mutual
commitment-
will stand the test of time.
I know very well what I am getting into:
I am getting into a relationship that
brims over with a transforming power
of love.

This marriage-with our
mutual commitment –
will transform naivety into maturity
troubles into challenges
pretence into practice
pride into progress
bachelorship into companionship.
I pledge to be your steward and partner
for all times.

I shall value the consultations
and decisions that we make as
husband and wife.
As head of the family I shall do nothing

to derail our love train for anything else
least of all for personal and selfish reasons.
Now and forever

I am your lawful and loving husband…
This pledge that l, Nothando, make today serves
as my guideline that I shall follow
happily, ungrudgingly and tirelessly
for the sake of our love life.
Indeed I am well aware of the fact that
the beauty of this pledge does not only
lie in pronouncements but in practice
as well.

For this reason every season
I shall demonstrate untiring love
and loyalty to you;
a love and a loyalty that is a living
embodiment of our marriage vows.
I therefore commit myself to be your
honouring, supportive and loving wife
for all the years l shall live with you.
I shall treat you with the love and care
that you deserve as my husband.
Indeed I shall treat you with
the dignity and nobility that is befitting
of the king of my heart.
On my mind it is always fresh
that I am the flesh of your flesh.
Green or grown

I am the bone of your bone.
I know very well what I am getting into:
I am getting into a relationship that
elevates me into a kingdom of wifehood.
I shall endevour to put my family first
with all the rights, obligations
and privileges that come with wifehood.
I shall endevour to wipe off and ward off
loneliness and lostness from our relationship,
seeking nothing but your companionship;
banking on your stewardship,
sinking together any hardship.
Since you are mine
I shall not do anything else to undermine
our relationship for personal
or egotistical
reasons.
Now and forever
I am your lawful and loving wife…

Snow

Snow sprinkles the ground

as delicate as sugar

crystallizing the exterior with a romantic heritage

only found in the heart of a child's imagination.

Like happiness it can melt in your hands,

and like happiness it can grow bitter like the ice you slip on

Forming miraculously to the curves of the earth

hugging till the land soaks in it's providence

white like the pages I battle with

Falling so passionately you'd think it was falling in love with the ground

And when it lands,

A blanket of perfection

glistening the season to a crisp

gently the sun arises

"there's no where to go today,

I'm just going to sit and enjoy the magic."

The Song of the Christmas Snow

There is nothing with so much life as a Christmas snow
The crisp air is still as little dancing stars float to the earth
Strong old trees become burdened with drifts of white upon their bows
But seem honored to be dressed in such finery and appear almost to move
In fact, everything has come to life to watch the snowfall.
Then everything is quiet
There is a whisper in the air
It ripples through the trees
See the birds, they are the first to recognize the whisper
As the Masters of Chorus, the birds know it is a song
They sit as true musicians memorizing the lyrics and rhythm
So, the snow speaks, the voice is old, like it has sung this song many times
As the squirrels could tell you this is a lullaby, and they begin to search from their
perches in the trees for the newborn
And life and love has never felt as strong as now
A horse in its pastures stomps his foot disturbed
Though he hears the song the birds do and the lullaby the squirrels hear, he,
along with all of the worlds creatures, could swear he just heard a cry
The squirrels chatter with laughter, knowing they where right and the birds take
up the snow-song to welcome the child they heard cry
And then they stop and the world is silent
The snow has stopped falling
The cry was only a memory from Christmas long past
The child, a child of time whose
Voice comes with the Christmas snows,
To give every soul the chance to hear
The song of joy and love and beginning,
So it is never forgotten;
The song of the Christmas Snow

Once Upon A Christmas Dreaming

Once upon a Christmas dreaming
Alphabets of spelling sleep,
Coal and snow plumed shrouded wreaths,
Fantasia minds plunged ever teeming
                              Distant choral souls redeeming,
Silence weeping, starlight beaming,
Light years bursting solar sheaths.

Whatever lost craved warmth and finding,
Rang the bells and rapped the brass,
Crept a creep of holy stealth,
Midnight chimed, the clock unwinding,
                              Visual feasts of gospels blinding,
Shadows lifted, ever minding
Love bestowing priceless wealth.

In the veils of crystals falling
Carols gelled with latticed ice,
Knitted pearls of liquid frost,
The songs of Christmas past were calling,
                              Eerie, wistful caterwauling,
Heaven bent on reinstalling,
Beckoned home whatever lost.

Once upon a Christmas waking
To a world of perfect white,
Love and caring left the grave
And arms wrapped bodies live and shaking,
                              Purest beauty in the making,
Gifts for giving, gifts for taking,
And all we took was all we gave.

Sir Cliff Richards

“Sir Cliff Richard ”

I do wish I could meet you, properly I mean,
To actually speak to you, would be a dream.
I’ve been to see you three times during the last few years,
Although sitting watching you almost reduced me to tears,
Tears of happiness that is, I hasten to add.
I’ve adored you from afar, since you were not much more than a lad.
Twice I have seen you at Nottingham’s Royal Concert Hall,
Doing your Gospel Concert, but there were no seats left in the stall.
So up at the very top we sat.
I was scared to move in case I fell flat.
Then you came on and started to sing.
It was a fantastic experience I would not have missed it for anything.
Although we went to see you in October, they had Christmas trees on the stage,
Because the show was being recorded for the Christmas edition of Songs of Praise.
When it came on television, I videoed it so I could watch it all over again,
And again, and again, and again, and again.
My favourite songs are “From A Distance” and “The Twelfth Of Never.”
I could listen to you, forever and ever.
I also like the song you did for Princess Di.
Although when I listen to it, I really could cry,
Especially the words, “All That Matter’s in the End Will Be,
The Love In You And The Love In Me.
With a 20 Year Tranquillizer Addiction, and Agoraphobia,
I’ve Been To Hell and Back.
But Thank God, My Life Is Now Back ON Track.
I sat with 12,000, People at Sheffield Arena, Just to see You,
Years ago this would have been impossible for me to do,
Now my greatest wish in life is too,
Get The Chance Just To Meet You.

Struggles

As I struggle with thoughts about life,
I pack up Christmas items:

(1) Removed Christmas China decorated with holly
(2) Stacked up those gold charger plates now no party

(3) Bagged up the centerpiece, removed green candles
(4) Things beginning to look in shambles

(5) Check those Christmas placemats
(6) Clean spots can tell we are not aristocrats

(7) Fold pine green Damask Tablecloth
(8) The naked table stands like a Behemoth_

Well, in my old age I am beginning to match the table..

young American days

To be in a young America ~
visions of a ship upcoming statue of Liberty
the young lad holding tightly to his Mothers leg
in all excitement of a new Land to call their own
celebrations of apple pie and fireworks on the 4th of July

thoughts of the old Hollywood on screen
films without 3-D costing less then a dollar
Greta , Monroe , Betty Davis eyes tantalizing blue glare
The Wizard of Oz or books written by Steinbach, Capote, Mark Twain

exciting new visions of creating new concepts
before Capitalism bought all little ones to bigger
songs came from the hills of Virginia to the black Mountains
surfacing in Tennessee for all to hear and wish to see

The day when one travelled by car on the road travelled
every town a story told , learning history we once shed blood
American Indian tears to the British man whom choose freedom of taxes
Boston held a tea party , now wishing they threw out marmite instead

The day when we knew our neighbors and bought homes with a paystub
Everyone had a chance to make their own with pride , even through wars
When Martin Luther King stood proudly as did President Lincoln for Freedom
How many streets have been named after the man whom had a dream ?

When milk was delivered on doorsteps in Glass bottles
Babies wanting the very first of the top being cream
leaving doors open , watching news with your family at 6pm
cartoons were shut down and it was now grown up time

Cereal being a cheap snack for after school
                         school supplies costing twenty dollars
Grandma school clothes shopping for fifty
before the internet , cell phones , and text for hello ~

2 week Vacations not afraid to put up Camp
Christmas sold in December with the sentiment of Love not money
a day when if one were sick , you could actually get penicillin without question
The Doctor treated everything calling it General Practice no fear of Malpractice

               Never forgetting our Motor city
Old Ford Trucks Chevrolets and Dodge
The city that brought Ottis Reding and Marvin Gaye

What happened to us ? Where did America Go ?

ONCE AGAIN THANK YOU

I was just trying to remember the past
trying to remember the good people
 and the bad people,
that i came across on my way,

i want you to know
that you are among the good people
that left a good trace in my life,

once again i just want to say thank you
for passing through my life,
is so short but is wonderful
i want you here forever.

A Material Christmas

It's Christmas! Christmas!
That time of year
When people are filled...
With holiday cheer?

Yeah right. . .
I really do wish it were true
But people are people
Through and through

It's not about happiness anymore
Or in respect to what matters.
In reality it concerns what you get
And the food that is piled on the platters.

What has happened to the world of today?
Where is the 'loving and giving...'?
Now it is all just me, me, me.
Is this a nightmare? Or are we actually living.

Yep we might have a lot of things
Hang on! Let's add some more
It isn't the family that I'm expecting
But the postman knocking at the door.

When the topic turns to Christmas cheer
Lets go stuff our faces...
Break out all that lovely beer!
Chuck away those graces!

But... Suddenly the month is over
There go all the gifts you gave
Your debt payments crawl closer and closer
And you become a material slave.

Teaching an Old Dog

All I remember is going into the garage to get the snow shovel.

I am not even sure how much of the driveway I managed to shovel. Apparently, I was lying in the snow for several hours before one of the neighbors noticed me.

The next thing I remember is waking up from a deep sleep to the sounds of beeping machines with tubes and wires stuck into and on my body.

As I slowly regained consciousness and my eyes were able to focus, I was aware of a young, bald child looking down on me.

“Hi,” said the smiling, angelic face. Given the child’s age and complete baldness, I could not tell whether they were a boy or a girl. And, with the tube inserted in my throat and taped to my mouth, I was in no position to return their salutation.

I tried to remember who this child might be and why they were here with me. I guess my eyes displayed my confusion as the child said, “I'm Elizabeth. They let me walk around the hospital a little. Sometimes I sneak out of the oncology wing and look for people who have no visitors. I like to make sure someone is there when they wake up. I know I always like to see someone when I wake up from my operations.”

She just stood above me smiling. I then noticed she was holding my hand.

“Sometimes it is hard for family members or friends to come visit. Some people just really don’t like hospitals. And, I guess”, she said, “not everybody has someone that close to them. So, I like to become their visitor for them. I hope you don’t mind.”

I didn’t mind. Although it did make me embarrassed to realize that I fit in the latter category; I didn’t have anybody that close to me.

She just smiled at me and petted my hand as the medications worked their magic on me and I started to drift back off to sleep. I heard a nurse come into the room and say, “There you are, Honey. You need to get back to your room now and leave this nice man be.”

The next time I regained consciousness, I noticed a hand drawn picture of a house with a Christmas tree out front with a note that said, “I hope you get home before Christmas” and was signed by Elizabeth.

Each new day, I was welcomed by another drawing of Christmas scenes; smiling faces; reindeer; and, starry skies. All containing a happy note and all signed, ”Love, Elizabeth”.

After ten days of recovery and following the insertion of two stents into my heart, I was well enough to return to my empty home. On my way out of the hospital, I stopped by the Oncology Wing to say good-bye and thank you to Elizabeth. When I asked the nurse at the floor station where I could find Elizabeth, she replied, “Oh I'm sorry, Elizabeth is no longer with us.”

I then said, “Well can you tell me her home address or phone number, I would really like to thank her for visiting me in my hospital room this past week.”

The look on the nurse’s face indicated that I misunderstood what she had meant. Elizabeth was no longer with us.

Sadly, I started walking towards the exit.

Just before I got to the elevator, I noticed an open door with a man lying on his bed, with tubes in his nose and throat and nobody else in the room with him. I went into his room and sat in the empty chair.

When he opened his eyes two hours later, I said, “Hi, I'm Joe. I noticed there was nobody here when you were brought back from your operation and I know how nice it is to see a smiling face when you wake up, so I thought I would sit here with you for a while. I hope you don’t mind.”

He squeezed my hand; gave a slight smile; and, slowly drifted off back to sleep.

Holding On, Or Throwing Away?

There were things of mine in the drawers that could be thrown out,
But I kept gravitating to the things that were his.

His Public School 45 autograph book. It was red, white, and blue leatherette with
a zipper.
Inside was his hand, writing the names of favorite teachers,
And the dreams of the future you have when you are 13.
His father, an old world German who never shared himself,
left ink blotches of emotion under his hand.

In another drawer, the fancy leather passport wallet complete with passport and
photo.
	He was 16.
I don’t remember him talking about anything else with the same twinkle in his
heart
As he did about the 6 months he spent in Germany.

Here is a poem written to him on his 40th birthday,
by his best friend in the world.
The gift made so much better because it was so unlike this IBM Executive
to write personal poetry full of memories.

There was an untouched underwear drawer.
Belt buckles.
Cards of love and joy that I had given to him over many years.
A collection of Christmas wallets.
A yo-yo. Gift from a child with nothing else to give.
Old prescription glasses. Why do we keep those? Pocket knives, hankies.

A sweater and socks I knitted for him,
Always said they were too good to wear.
		I store them still.

Every drawer I opened, every cupboard, every box stored away throughout the
whole house had something of his tucked away within.
A stray bullet or black powder ball. A toothpick holder.
A cork screw. A flint, patches, pictures of his ‘49 Olds, a comb, a watch, pocket
treasures.

~ Maybe if I go clean someplace safe like the fridge.
And there was the bottle of Zeller Schwartz Katz wine
bought for the coming Christmas season of entertaining.

This is foolishness, hanging on.
In spite of saving all this stuff
the hole in me is still there. ...
But I just could not throw him away.

A Homeless Man's Christmas Wish

Christmas day is coming soon
I can hear the little drummer boys beat
As I sleep under a stack of newspapers
At my home here on the street
I have no shade from the summer heat
No shelter from a spring storm
When autumn and winter roll around
I have no blanket to keep me warm
I have no one to talk to
No doctor to keep me well
My life is like the seventh circle
Of an everlasting hell
I have no feast on Thanksgiving
On my birthday, I have no cake
Most nights as I sleep in my concrete bed
I pray and hope I won't wake
I think about the man I used to be
The one that died so long ago
Now all that's left is this scruffy, filthy creature
Who I don't even know
Now that Christmas is here again
I pray to the good Lord above
For a gift that most don't appreciate
Filled with lots of happiness and love
I'm not talking about material things
I can get by without any of that
All I want is a house and a family
Complete with a dog and a cat
I wish every single Christmas season
That my dear, sweet Lord would send me
A beautiful family with warm, smiling faces
Sipping hot chocolate around a Christmas tree
We would have a most amazing feast
A rack of lamb tied up with a bow
Then we would all get bundled up
And go caroling in the snow
Oh, how glorious that would be
To have a family and a few friends
To have people who love me
Even after this life ends
God please hear my prayers
And answer them if you can
Just grant one simple Christmas wish
To this old homeless man

Unknown

Who am I?
Am I defined by what is near in sight?
Am I defined by what I have done,
Or am I defined by what I could become?

Perhaps I'm of no use.
To him, or her, or I, nor you.
Or perhaps I'm too misunderstood to be defined,
And it is something like understanding that comes in time.

And if to the world I'm never shown,
Yet in my own light I've grown and grown,
And so I can know no happiness but my own--
The reason for my smile, to you, will forever be unknown.

I do not pray for the world to know my name.
For it and verse; the letters are the same.
And if a man should find his sorrow in what he reads,
I pray his pain my words to keep.

Should his eyes rain on my page,
Better tears than storms of rage.
And if a man should find his sorrow in what he reads.
I pray his pain my words to keep.

And if to the world you're never shown,
Yet in your own light you've grown and grown,
And so you know no happiness but your own.
Let the reason for your smile, to you, only be known.

A Miracle For You

I wish I could help you each and everyone.
You light up my life and the same I would
like to do for you.
I don't like seeing you feeling so sad.
If I could find that one thing to make it all
better I surely would do it.
Could I sit by your side when you feel the
need to hide from it all?
I would wipe away your tears and try to
chase away your fears.
I would hold your hand and whisper soothing
words to you until you fall asleep.
I pray for you to be free from all your pain and
sadness today...tomorrow...and everyday hereafter.
I wish for you to be able to enjoy everything life has
to offer.
Please know that you my family and friends each and
everyone of you mean the world to me.
For Christmas a miracle to you I would give...if only I could !!!

TEARS ON SANTA'S CHEEKS

TEARS ON SANTA'S CHEEKS Daddy's little girl is going. Daddy's little girl is slowly leaving... Silent night... it's what the angels are singing Outside there are ringing laughter, however-- on a hospital bed which was cold white as the snow lies the body of a little girl, dead. Her little soul just had to go. She just had to go ahead than the others. Her once sun kissed face when she smiles now the palest cream. Her once twinkling eyes now shut so tight. The glow of light and love she always bring was lost on Christmas night, as Santa stood in red and white holding a present on his hands staring at the child his eyes wet with falling tears for his little girl had died. ©O. One way love

"Last Christmas I gave you my heart" a heart so thirsty for your aqua nest, a nest I thought was just for me and waited for a nod so many days. "Used to think that life was sweet" as sweet as your beautiful face, a face that soon would smile at me but in your nest was somebody else. "If he brings you happiness" "no, I'll never get the blues" I am yet to take back my heart still it is entwined with yours. "No New Years day to celebrate" for celebration means you to me, if you someday give back my heart along with it,give your heart free. Space-Love

Let's escape to space
& Leave the human race

Space-love a new awesomeness
Forget the life & the gloominess

Kiss me, because I care
Even thought the life is unfair

I want to be a space-lover
Love you now, tomorrow & forever

Lest Live in a house made of stars
& drive spaceship instead of cars

We feel the space-love in moon
I'll be yours, you'll be mine so soon

Galaxy, universe, stars & limitless
Screw the world, we found happiness.

It's Christmas

Its Christmas time again and the bustle is on ,
cleaning the house, bring out the new stuff
A touch of paint over there, I’m almost done,
The lights are up, tree fully decorated, My place is decked out !!

In the early Christmas morn, the gifts I lay beneath the tree,
Everything is in place……Ohhhh, what a beautiful sight to see!

Now retired to bed, pleased as could be
He spoke - and it caused me to look at the thing I did not see
I’ve cleaned and prepared my house for the day
In the midst of this, have I done the same with life in any way?

The scripture rang loudly in the blanket of the quite morn-
“A child is born and a Son is given”- am I ready to receive this gift that’s given?

All the lights I’ve hung, He’s the light of the world
The ornaments on the tree, He’s so precious to me
This tree that stands in my hall so tall
Upon a tree he hung, offered vinegar mingled with gall……

My responsibility right now, is share what’s been offered to me
If you did not have lights or decorated a tree, Could not buy a gift, or just didn’t know the story…

Jesus is the gift that’s waiting for you
Yes, you can receive Him, its long overdue
Just open up your heart, he’ll make it brand new
Take a moment to ponder-
Christmas is celebrating what Jesus has done for you !!!

Merry Christmas!!!

The Red Symphony

A self-written poem begun in Christmas Time,
While it tasting the soup and looking for rhyme.
In the kitchen, neighbor with the quiet tomato paste,
The sorcerer's apprentice, a poet pretty well placed
Near Soups (ciorbe) with characteristic sour taste
With luminous face and much grace added the rest:
As he was sipping and tasting from raw and cooked.
His group had a passionate look at what was booked
For the dinner: These might be meat and vegetable soups.

They had to choose till the coming of the helping troops
For the pig`s sacrifice rite, old mixture of joy and grief
Under the hot and long debrief of the pleasant smell-thief
Tripe soup (ciorba de burta) hard prepared from beef,
And calf foot soup (ciorba de vitel), with green-gold leaf
Pickled soup (supa de moare) with pork and big rice;
But use the dice to decide between spice and allspice.

From the slaughtered pig the village` families prepare:
Carnati - sausages kept in special aromatic smoke
Of wet fir and oak burned at small fire as enjoyed by folk;
Caltabos - sausages made with liver sprinkled with beers;
Toba and piftie - dishes using pig's feet, head and ears
Suspended in aspic like a frozen symphony in red
After cups of plum brandy and before going the bed
Tochitura - pan-fried pork to bid it a farewell, twice
Served with mamaliga - palesta , and red wine with ice,
Or boiled wine with pepper and cinnamon against frost;
So that the pork can swim and the verse were glossed;
Piftie - inferior parts of the bashful pig, mainly the tail,
Feet and ears, kind of meal like taken from a fairytale
In which all are cooked and served in a form of gelatin
In this naturalist field, all the poets smile like Mr.Bean;

Jumari - small pieces of pig meat are fried and tumbled
Through various spices if after all, you are a little troubled
And may falter some poetical from the famous songs
Like "So, good people drink…" couples of diphthongs
Since Saturday to Thursday and make colorful the gray.

This poem was written in the Night of Tuesday to Friday.

( And later we`d find that the housewife had covered with it the pickles cucumbers jar.)

Roses For Mama

I took a trip to the florist,
This past Christmas Eve morn.
And happened by a homeless man,
Who seemed lost, and forlorn.

He said: “Good sir, I need your help,
I don’t seek to deceive,
I need some roses for mama.
For it is Christmas Eve.”

“But they act as though I’m not there,
These florists must be blind!”
He handed me his change and asked,
If I would be so kind.

He’d saved enough for three long stems,
Not much of a bouquet,
But cheerfully he shook my hand,
And then was on his way.

Convinced that I’d done my good deed,
I bought some for my wife.
Two dozen beautiful roses,
For the love of my life.

Driving past the cemetery,
I saw that homeless man.
Kneeling beside his mother’s grave,
And so I parked my van.

My heart was broken by that sight,
I knew not what to say.
I mindfully approached the grave,
Offering my bouquet,

He said: “You meant those for your wif
They should not leave your hand.”
I said, my wife knows I love her,
And she will understand.

I placed them on his mother’s grave,
As tears rolled down his face.
And I was lost in the moment,
Suspended in that place.

Then from behind, a man inquired,
If I had been a friend.
I told him “no, I’m with her son,”
He did not comprehend.

When I pointed at the roses,
The homeless man was gone.
The stranger said, “You’ve seen him too?”
Was he putting me on?

He said, “I believe your story.
For I’ve seen him as well;
On Christmas Eve, six years ago,
A tale I rarely tell.”

He said there’s something I should know,
And quickly clarified.
“It was back in nineteen ninety,
When this homeless man died.”

He came here every Christmas Eve,
Until his final breath.
It’s a practice he’s continued,
All these years, since his death.

Sometimes it takes a miracle,
To make someone believe.
Mine came with roses for mama,
One special Christmas Eve.

Hot Snow in July

Walking under a burning sun
Listening evocative Christmas songs

Sweat furrows my motionless visage
Snow calmly is falling down

Alive drops dissolve my thoughts
A fresh breath gently stirs

Walking straightaway still alone
Looking for a friendly crucial turn

Nobody matching my broken mind
What's hot? What's cold?

Deep down somebody is already here
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

The Cradle And the Cross

The Cradle And the Cross ” 20 But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” Matt 1:20-21 NIV The cradle of Christmas Has no meaning without the Cross. The babe we celebrate at Christmas Was born to win us back from loss. Part heavenly yet part human, This gracious Christmas gift, Was given to save mankind; Redeem the God-mankind rift. The Cradle and the Cross Show us God’s great love; Reveal his glorious power And his life over death from above. They give us great hope for a future— A hope that cannot die. When we acknowledge the Cradle and the Cross; Upon Christ’s life and spilt blood we rely. From Christmas to Easter We’re reminded of the Cradle and the Cross; The sacrificial life of God’s Son, That his own people sought to toss. The Cradle and the Cross Were prophesies of old. God’s child was born unnoticed by most, Yet worshipped with incense, myrrh and gold. The Cradle and the Cross Bring forth glorious hope; Show us that there’s nothing Beyond God’s power and scope. They give us reason for joy And peace in our hearts to reign. May the goodwill of Christmas Be with all on earth to proclaim! UNFINISHED SENTENCE

UNFINISHED SENTENCE

At Sunday prep my
boarding school teacher
criticising my unfinished sentence .
No communicated thoughts, no words .
Sentenced to life at fourteen ,
away from home and you my life
sentenced in solitary .
A death sentence commuted to life ,
both imprisoned in separate cells ,
separated from you by streams of tears .

At Christmas a chestpain took my father
without closure or goodbye ,
a rude undeserved end .
My heart’s-loss ,
not even found for days ,
you are not really dead,
across the Styx wandering lost
along tearless roads in darkness .
Alone and lost my
mother , family , left bereft .

The warm breath of dairy cows
hangs over empty farmland and a winter
cemetery on this cold Sunday morning ,
with grandsons who resemble you .
Only I know their hands are
your big hands - are
my hands - placing here a token
poinsettia , red-toned , roots swirling
inside their pot of earth .

You grew them in masses and
my childhood Christmas was complete .
Their leaves drop with the cold,
dead but not really dead .
They will return next Christmas
and your spirit comes back again .
Your big hand is in mine, but I am
unled and abandoned and
I talk to you in poinsettia tones ,
continually coming back to
your unfinished finished life ,
frozen like the stream
of memory in my mind .

What is Christmas Really About

Quickly is coming Christmas day,
Perhaps you ponder with dismay
Amidst the shopping and the shouts,
What is Christmas really about?

Is it about reindeer and elves,
The gifts we wish for ourselves?
Is it about wrapping paper and bows,
Stockings stuffed with goodies clear to the toes?

Is it about family, friends, and feast,
The smell of bread baking rising with yeast?
About trees, lights, and cute decorations,
Parties, eggnog, and celebrations?

These commodities make the holiday bright,
But something else is required to make it right;
For Christmas is not about programs and costumes worn,
But about a miraculous baby that was born.

About Mary and Joseph, man and wife,
Who came to Bethlehem pregnant with life.
No room was left for them in the inn,
Shelter was found in a cattle pen.

The time of her delivery would not waiver,
In that stable she experienced labor.
Born into a place smelling of manure,
Christ arrived our salvation to assure.

Nearby shepherds tending flocks by night
Were startled by a glorious light.
Angels while seeking to calm their fear
Came proclaiming this event of cheer.

Told of a birth of a baby boy,
A king, a savior, who would bring joy.
His mission was one of peace,
From our sins to bring release.

Then with haste they went with glee,
Marveled at what they did see;
Found him in a manger yet filled with glory
Then left with excitement to tell his story.

So as we gather this December
May this jingle help us remember,
Christmas is not about dear old Santa Claus
But about the Christ who saves us from our flaws.

Christmas Everywhere

Is it Christmas everywhere?
Christmas parties and stuffed teddy bears.
Songs of merry Christmas delight.
Snow covered rooftops glowing at night.
Gifts of sparkling diamond rings.
Christmas memories and special things.
Holiday feasts and decorated doors.
Chocolate covered cherries, Oh! Give me more.
Trips to the mall to buy gifts galore.
Paying with plastic I depleted my stash.
Let us make a loan I need more cash.
Is it Christmas everywhere?
Are you sure without a doubt?
Because some poor child this Christmas will be without.
Give hope and love.
Give prayers and faith.
For those lonesome people on this Christmas day.
Is it Christmas eerywhere?
With war overseas?
People dying and starving,
and no shoes to cover their feet.
Is it Christmas everywhere, with so much poverty?
Families who go hungry, with nothing much to eat.
What about the homeless and natural disaster stricken lands?
It would make this Christmas merry for the wealthy to lend a hand.
With death and crying, and cold and mourning,
an unfortunate road to a path with no glory.
Oh! What a very sad Christmas story.
My home is my castle that shelters me,
but don't forget the homeless that beg on the street.
So, make this Christmas merry if you're able to give.
Share your heart with someone and allow them to live.
The best Christmas will be without a doubt,
God will bless you for giving to those who are without.

An Angel's Bouquet

your flowers came the other day
so wild and free like me
all colors graced the lovely vase
so beautiful to see

at first i didn't read the card
so busy in my work
i simply put them on my desk
assuming them a perk

so many flowers gifts and things
appear each day on angels wings
its christmas time again you see
i never thought you'd think of me

you passed away six months ago
without you time just goes so slow
i know your in a better place
oh God to only see your face

and then a chill came over me
and all was plain for me to see
you thought ahead and had them sent
all though my love your life was spent

these flowers came from you above
and given with such life and love
you knew how much i loved them so
and in my heart they'll always grow...

Merry Christmas darling
Thank you for the flowers!

Christmas 2009

Recession made Christmas harder than ever before
Family’s splitting – money the core
Dad’s leaving to live on the street
So that young hungry mouths are able to eat
That some extra cash might be in the house
and children might learn what Christmas is about?
But without Dad gone, roof would be lost
for the bills are much higher – we can’t meet the cost
No longer can the average family budget
2009, jobs lost, even working struggle to afford it
Commercialism needs to stop building hopes and dreams
Childern don’t understand you are busting at the seams
Disappointment reigns as kids outside taunt and tease
No longer we fit in we’re all on our knees
Sinking. Even love has fallen apart
We don’t want this Christmas just haven’t the heart!
Expectation lower, depressions set in
Politicians not helping the hole we’re all in
Instead raising taxes they’ll crucify more
and this miserable life could be at your door
Will someone tell them that family should be together
sharing love, life, hopes dreams whatever they weather

WHY ARE WE HERE

Like children we fear
  In secret a somber tear

Like learning to walk
 Babies listen to talk

  To help them stand

This too, we all must do
  By HIS Hand made anew

The Tragedy of the Banished Revolutionaries

The Tragedy of the Banished Revolutionaries.

Epochs apart, yet,
bound by conscience,

Buddha,
Jesus,
Moses,
Muhammad,
Ram.

Enduring the whispers of time,
through creeds professed,
sermons preached,
and a million sins confessed.

Though,

the essence,
of these banished revolutionaries,
is ceremonially muted by ritual,
and gleefully crushed under,
grandiose edifices,
that serve Religion Inc.

"And the meek shall inherit the earth",
an incendiary thought,
conveniently discarded,
for the pie in the sky that must be sought.

The tragedy of the banished revolutionaries,
stings.
stabs,
whispers still,
for us to hear,
through the din of the cacophony of prayer.

Buddha,
Jesus,
Moses,
Muhammad,
Ram.

The tragedy of the banished revolutionaries,
persists,
each day that we choose,
to shun the meek,
and mouth conscience-salving prayers,

for yet more silver,
and yet more silk.

An Angel

An angel did befriend us, on earth, before one Christmas day.
Some say she was a comet, some say she was a star.
I say she was a gift from God, here to light our way.
She was a thing of beauty that shone across the land.
Leading to a humble manger, found in Bethlehem.

And what could be so important, for her to come our way?
A savior to our lands, and yes, our hearts and souls…
Triumphantly born on Christmas Day.
That day he was born the heavens truly did rejoice.
And she, a glorious light, continued to beacon forth God’s love.

Such an important part, that angel was given on that day.
She was a beacon to our hearts and the gifts of love…
Guiding the Wise Men and shepherds endlessly along their way.
Thru her we learned lessons, such as: patience, hope, and how to give…
And yes, she led us to the Wondrous Man, who taught us how to live…

A Gray Christmas

The little boy sits by the christmas tree
Full of light and color
Trying to figure out what all the colors are
He puts his little hands on the ornaments
Trying to see what they are
Feeling them
He steps back and falls over a present
He feels around the box trying to open it
Only seeing alittle

Mean while on the phone..

his mom is talking to the doctor

"do you think he will be able to see by christmas?" she says
The doctor replies "theres no guarentees, he is 67 % blind, when we did the test with him, he described the color blue as a dark black, and a yellow as a light gray, your son only sees in black and white and im not sure if we can fix that. but we will do our best"

A breathe escapes from her lips as she turns and looks at her son
The doctor explains "his surgery is set for Dec. 7th. be here around 8 am and we will see what we can do, im trully sorry"
He hangs up.

Back in the living room

The boy stands up and walks over to his mom
"mom, have you seen the christmas lights?" he says

She replies "yes sweety i have."

He hugs her leg and says "are they black and white?"

She answers "no sweety" she points to a light bulb on the tree

"this one is blue" she smiles

He grabs the light bulb and repeats "this one is blue" and giggles

She lays him down in his bed as he quickly falls asleep

She sits down on the chair and thinks
"to me. because my son cannot see the beautiful lights and feel the joys of christmas, everything is gray for me. nothing will fill my empty heart"

There are no smiles, when everything is gray, when you cant see the colors of a bright day

So many candles to see the light

Like joyous green of summer, my heart is singing filled
With you, while winter`s white is witness of good willed;
The glass works and the hot red wine spreading light:
Comforting carols “Silent Night” or “Brad Frumos”.

Comforting thoughts of good like good miners,
And cakes a lot with names of saints and sinners
Looking the heart of sweet cherries strudel under the sight

Of mother humming “Silent Night” or “Brad Frumos”.

Smoldering embers and feeling like hot chocolate
With scent of incense offered to every Christian mate
Under the new temptation of good and hope of right

Teaching of church on “Silent Night”,under “Brad Frumos”

The sacrifice of the pig, a ritual Symphony in red,
At the other side of modal logic, with wine and bread
And slaughtered pig and soured soups that might

Be prepared and savored on "Silent Night" ,near “Brad Frumos”

The aromatic smoke ascending, and dancing heavenly
Like our attempt to preserve and conserve not only
The clay and flash creature but also the inner light

And so many candles to see the Light on “Silent Night”...

Layers

As you peel back one layer you will a bit more of me
Each layer defines parts that the naked eye may not see
The outer layer is tough resistant and seems weather proof
Just one more layer down is where you start to find the truth.

Peel off a third one and that’s where my feelings are hidden
Not on the surface to be played with or abused when bidden
Another layer down is where my tears are caught and held back.
Until the hurt of death and squalor, that layer attack

The last layer you may peel from me, I hold on to so tight
I don’t want you to see my heart naked, in the harsh light.
The layer that covers my heart and keeps it safe from abuse
Life constantly picks at it and it’s not really much use.

I tried so hard to keep that one in place and safe from harm
Then life produces its peeler, which I would like to disarm.
It endlessly peels away at the layers of my protection
Leaving me vulnerable and weak and open to infection.

To fight back at life I have found a small good cure all
And that is what lets me walk on the edge, I totter but not fall.
In times of trouble and death, pain, anger and even love
Look for the silver lining that helps give this life a little shove.

Shove these things aside; they will get dealt with in a while
Knowing that whatever it is, will be behind us - so smile.
The layer that keeps our minds strong and yes even clear
Needs the most attention, it gives us hope, love, and even fear

Good things and bad things all come and go day by day
But we find we always look back on them and so we can say
Another day passed though we never forget the pain
Let me replace that layer now and cover my heart again

A smile helps to build up the layers and keeps me on life’s path
As does love, friendship and forgiveness, and a smile turns back wrath.
When we feel we can never smile ever again in a thousand lifetimes
We will look back and find the memory dims and the sun returns to shine

My layers are there I try to build them and keep them supple and strong
But sometimes they get ripped in a wrench and I think I am wrong
Straight to the point where my heart beats and is exposed to life’s ills
Time to pay the piper, as he comes to collect on life’s bills.

Laughter the best medicine and that I truly believe
But there’s a time to laugh and then there is a time to grieve
Time to think and to fight, love and to perhaps even pray
I hope my layers will keep intact, and get me through another tough day.

My son had to work today, he is a supervisor on a motorway service station. He came home to us at the end of his shift for any comfort we could give him because of a motor accident just past where he works that took the lives of two children and an adult and seriously injured two more. He had to get access for the emergency services and then deal with angry motorists as he had to block them trying to re-enter the motorway, while things were dealt with. His one thought was how the families would now cope, not only with the losses but that fact that it would taint their Christmas celebrations for the rest of their lives.
Although we do not celebrate Christmas he is so concerned for their feelings he is finding it difficult to cope with. My heart grieves not only for them and their horrendous ordeal, but my son whose heart has been laid open to their pain.

What If Christmas Never Came

What If… Christmas Never Came??? What if Christmas never happened? What if Christmas never came? Things around here would be different! It wouldn’t be the same! What if the baby Jesus was never born in a manger? Mankind would be in serious trouble. We’d all be in danger! If the baby Jesus wasn’t born. There would be no nativity. We wouldn’t be able to display this during our “festivity.” It’s almost like this now! It’s an “ever increasing business.” It seems like nearly everyone wants “Christ out of Christmas!” Why does it seem like Christmas is losing it’s true meaning? The very words; “Merry Christmas,” seem to be quickly disappearing! Many say; “Happy Holiday.” They worry they may “offend.” Having a “holiday” without Christ…. Once again! We need to put Jesus Christ back into our CHRISTmas season! He is what Christmas is about! HE is the very reason! May we all take some time to rejoice in our savior’s birth. May there be shouts of JOY! From the corners of the earth! Let’s not take Christ out of our joyous celebration! We need him so much right now! All over this great nation! May we bring to him a heart of love for everything he’s done. As we bring honor to Christ. God’s precious son! May we continually offer to him a heart filled with praise! Not only at Christmas time… But all of our days! By Jim Pemberton

Christmas Biography

quatrains

Five are one, loving each another
I was last of the Jolly children.
Cedar tree from the woods, I ‘member
my fifth Christmas in ’50.

Jovial times for the five of us
the mistletoe and snow uncommon.
We had holly Jolly Christmases
before Burl Ives in ’60.

Ten more years added two grandkids quick
when brother wed his sweetheart and friend.
Kids once more wait for jolly St. Nick
toy gifts to buy in ’70.

When next the decade finds me checking
I’m a wife, mother and aunt again.
This season three extras come decking
the Jolly halls ’80.

We add a son. My oldest niece weds.
“Jolly” tables now serve six and ten.
Fourth generation – her two “great” kids
help Christmas rock in ’90.

Death takes its toll, both parents succumb.
Divorce claims two, four go to heaven.
New mates are found and babies still come
Christmas was rough in ’2000.

No more gath’rings of Jolly’s in sync
but love still counts, I number the kin.
We’re up to thirty-three now I think
my sixty-fifth Christmas 2010.

*My maiden name is Jolly which adds a lot of fun and joking especially at Christmas time.

More than weather, can be frightful or Unseasonal Christmas

Used to be the weather was frightful
People covered themselves from head to toe
Now, despite the fact it’s Christmas season
I see more sand, than I see snow
The temperatures keep on elevating
To the moon, they just seem to rise
Oh, where is the Christmas of yesterday
The rosy cheeks, windows fogged with ice

It’s just too warm now for Christmas
Too hot to shop, too hot to run around
Santa’s working at the pole in a speedo
That’s nothing, we wanna see come to town

Frosty, it seems we’re not gonna see him
Heat miser, now, has gotten his day
Can’t ole Jack Frost do something about this
And chase the warm weather away
No need to chop wood set for burning
The heated air replaces that in the hearth
I hope it gets cold and very soon, too
Because Christmas puts warmth in everyone’s heart

It’s just too warm now for Christmas
Too hot to shop, too hot to run around
Santa’s working at the pole in a speedo
That’s nothing, we wanna see come to town

Oh, when Christmas day finally gets here
Right now, I’ll tell ya, all I wanna see
Are people with scarves and gloves on their hands
And snow bringing life to all barren trees
I want the temps to chill me right to the bone
That’s when I’ll know it’s Christmas time
Who wants to look up and see a sleigh
With a fat man in a speedo, flying around

It’s just too warm now for Christmas
Too hot to shop, too hot to run around
Santa’s working at the pole in a speedo
That’s nothing, we wanna see come to town

Party

Celebration comes when we see fit But we can only celebrate just a little bit 'Cause with all the travesty that surrounds us We look for a good escape, And it does not matter Neither the time nor the place. One man's trash, Is another man's treasure. So is one man's victory Another man's defeat. Never do both the men Run at a parallel. Thus, who deserves happiness When they both meet. This must be a familiar trait All humans tend to have in common; Plus fighting for our wants, And the things we don't see coming. We must find some form of joy, The smallest spec of it in our lives. Even if some of the joy Will bring trouble sometimes. So, we simply set our minds As long as the moment feels really right We will let tomorrow happen If we make through the night

Do we put Jesus in a Box contest

God came down and became a man
He wanted to fully understand
Since the consequence for sin has always been death
Jesus had to Indore our punishment up until his very last breath
He became the ultimate sacrifice
So all mankind did not have to pay the price
His 33 years on this earth science can fully prove, and his horrific death was recorded in history
The miracles Jesus performed, to a believer, hold no questions or mysteries
Many struggle with the concept that Jesus was God in man form
However, he did this so he could guide us through our life storms
God knew there was no other way
To save man from their future judgment day
He saw that humans had limited power
To resist temptation and be their own strong tower
So he sent his son to die for me and you
So we could live in heaven someday too
The only thing you must do is receive
Accept Jesus in your heart and truly believe,
Something so simple has become so hard,
For many in this world are deeply scarred
They question his goodness and question if he cares
For life can be extremely unfair
he never said we wouldn’t suffer pain
that the hurricanes would not saturate us with torrential rains
However He did promise he would give us peace
That we would walk through troubles with his release
He promises to turn it all around for our good
He has been misrepresented and misunderstood
There is a purpose for all who trust in him
He assures us that if you are his child, you win!
Yet, so many put Jesus in a box
Pull him out like old Christmas socks
Once or twice a year
go to church, say a prayer and then disappear
forgetting that God has feelings too
And that he is desperately in love with you
Many believe the lie that he is mad
That they are to damaged and have been too bad
They overlook that his love has never changed
Humans walk away from him, Jesus always stays the same
Don’t underestimate his grace and power
That can transform you in your darkest hour
You don’t have to believe me
Ask him yourself and you will see
You never know until you try
Don’t be ignorant; he is not just a theory in the sky
He is everywhere, at anytime
It is your wellbeing that is on his mind
So during this holiday season
Don’t forget to celebrate the real reason
The birth of Christ
Is what gives each person a chance at a new life
He is no respecter of persons, and he is not counting your sins
He’s waiting for you with his hand stretched out
Begging you to let him in.

The Perfect Christmas Gift

The perfect gift
Is often a myth
It's clearly out of reach

You're already gone
Never to respawn
But listen to me preach

The best gift of all
Is hearing your call
And having you back with me

It's been too long
I wrote us a song
I wish you were here to see

Christmas is about love
The innocence of a dove
But also family

Grandpa that's you
We all know it's true
I fall right under your tree

You are my gift
That one wish
I'll glance up at the moon

I'll blow you a kiss
It'll never miss
Grandpa I'll see you soon
                                                                -<3

Why Is Christ Taken Out Of Christmas

Christmas is the only holiday we often don’t call by name. We often forget about the true reason that Christ came. It’s the only holiday that we often call “a holiday.” It’s true meaning, is often, taken away! It’s more than the tree and all of the glittering lights… It’s time to think about the Bethlehem star so bright! It’s more than going shopping at the malls… More than, “Jingle Bells,” or “Deck the Halls!” It’s more than seeing how many people we can buy for. Or that clearance sale, you’re willing “to die for!” It’s more than buying the “newest in entertainment.” Or receiving a gift that may “cause an embarrassment.” Beyond all of the presents and all we truly believe in. Let’s all come to Christ Jesus and receive him! Let’s think about his birth, and his death on the cross! Without HIM… The true meaning of Christmas is lost! He brings the hope, joy and cheer that’s needed! Won’t you listen to his voice? That often goes unheeded? Christ is what’s important! And shouldn’t be left out! He’s what matters! And is what Christmas is all about! Let’s be joyful! It was for all of us that he came! And take this time to bring honor and glory to his name! By Jim Pemberton

Winter Winds

Winter winds blow all around.
I’m astonished by the sounds of Jingle Bells and reindeer stomps.
All of this should never stop.
Snow lies on the ground, if only that weren't too profound.
Time only leads to decay, but not on Christmas, not today.
You should see the angels pray.
Toy trains, and rag dolls are the things kids used to want.
But time has changed, yes so have children…
Santa seems as if a villain.
So much fighting, so much crying, it sounds as if the kids are dying.
“I want money, I want fame, and these toys are just so lame.”
But that’s the product we provided.
Second chances are no more, Santa’s plot we wait for.
He’s sick of this, he doesn't care, it’s as if he’s not wanted here.
He gets ready to take it all back….
WAIT!
There’s still one toy left in his sack, it’s for a little girl, half a world away.
Now how could he have missed this, on the perfect Christmas day?
He turns around, not time for war.
This toy, the girl is waiting for… It’s not a toy like you’d expect.
She didn't ask for electronics, or stupid games such as Sonic.
She just wanted one small thing…
She’s waiting for something EXTRA special this gloomy day.
In a bed she sits and stares, at the window near a chair.
She’s so weak, and all alone.
She doesn't even have a real home, not where there are bright lights anyways.
They've decorated a weeping willow, the only tree around the “home”.
So she has lights to see.
It’s Christmas after all, but there’s no way to calm the raging sea.
She’s dying, it won’t take much longer, and she doesn't care about the tree.
She needs a new heart extra bad.
So, Santa’s bringing her the one thing, that will stop her parents from being sad.
He rushes to the hospital in his golden sleigh, and climbs right down the vent,
He’s saving Christmas today.
Santa rushes in just in time, finds a doctor, the girl is dying.
It’s not what he usually does, but he stays and watches as they save her life.
He waits for her to wake up.
“Santa, you saved my life, oh thank you so much! I needed my heart to be touched.”
He just smiles, and kisses her hand. He’s so glad he didn't destroy the land.
Christmas is still a special day.
There’s no more sorrow, no, not today. Santa smiles though some are still ungrateful.
There’s that one child, standing in the snow, her life can now be started in the evening glow. That’s life for the grateful, loving, caring, and the thankful. Most of the time Santa just gives toys. For all the good girls and boys. But not today, and not tomorrow, once a year he gets rid of sorrow. So sleep tight and say your prayers, Christmas time is but once a year.

What a Wonderful World

What a wonderful world
became a favourite Christmas hit
a movie to thrill and inspire
a classic film it is it

Starred the marvellous Jimmy Stewart
assisted by the lovely Donna Reed
focused on man's guardian angel
each one's protector it is indeed

This movie asks an important question
what if we had never been born
never indeed been known
to the world we be foreign

Looking back on our life
has it made any impact?
what if we never came here?
never to be a fact

So be very thankful
for all you have got
remember and never forget
history reveals more than you thought

Under snow

We wrote your name on the snow, and white will grow
And rise in the large drifts, till the singing pale moon,
Then, in its a week`s journey, the scarlet wind will blow.

Blinding white will arrive at the old luminous steeple, soon;
There, after the season`s ritual sacrifice of the savory pig,
We keep the lard, without defile it, in the Advent`s noon.

If presents gather under the Christmas tree , angels in white
Descend from their glass sky with frozen flowers for the windows.
The villagers dream hot wine singing, swimming in their tired sight:

That is the question: Domestic wines, or lyrical Muscat Ottonel ?
Pair to varza calita - steamed cabbage with pork ribs .Idyllic picture …
Garlicky sausages and horse radishes surely brought just from the hell.

Each day, we have to take winter away from our large courtyard
Else, all will be buried in snow. We eat a table of the cold smoked lard
And other foods invented before the postmodernism of Lyotard.

Salata de boeuf - minced boiled vegetables with meat, mayonnaise
And a dash of mustard; Tzuica –plum brandy, all kind of grills
Cow tongue with olives , potateos , Snitzel Viennese or Malinese ,
Sarmale - minced meat with rice, wrapped in pickled cabbage leaves.

In a land of Christmas dreams

There’s a special place not to far - you know
A special place where we all can go
A place where dreams run as free as our mind
A place where we stop the happiest of times
To live our fullest at being who we are
To share and listen in each others beliefs of who we are.
To be happy being who we are

In a land of Christmas dreams
Is a special place for you and me
Somewhere to go and always see
How truly life can really be

Listen to our loved ones how we want to be heard
Understanding completely with out stating a word

Where giving is a pleasure with a hug and a kiss
Open minds and hearts and feelings as this

In a land of Christmas dreams

In a land of Christmas dreams
Is a special place for you and me
Somewhere to go and always see
How truly life can really be

For this beauty of freedom and dreams
Every night stares at you in your sleep
This giving and caring is special indeed
This giving and caring is shared between you and me

Expressing our gracious love for our friends and family
Always supporting our love and devotion
Being there for each other through times thick and thin
Always to return strong in message of the truth within

In this land of Christmas dreams
All of it’s beauty of freedom sings
Every night sings to you in your sleep
This giving and caring is special indeed
For this giving and caring of Christmas dreams
Is all behind the spirit of you and of me.

My Christmas Wish For My Souper Friends

Each year I write a Christmas poem
For my closest friends to read
I try to make the message plain
And one I pray they'll heed

How Christ was born the world to save
But first, He had to die
Be buried in a borrowed grave
All for you and I

The third day after His death
He arose in victory
His triumph over death and hell
Was done, my friends, for thee

The message heard on Christmas
Is a message of joy and cheer
Its meaning is there in simple truth
It's one I pray you'll hear

If He is not your personal Lord
I'll tell you He can be
If you respond to His Holy Word
And on your bended knee

Ask Him to come and take control
And guide you from now on
He'll change your life and make you whole
And heaven will be your home

So think about my Christmas wish
For all my Souper friends
You'll experience such spiritual bliss
A bliss that never ends

Written especially for all on Soup who read these simple words, I pray they have a different meaning for you all than ever before. In Jesus' Name, I wish you all a MERRY CHRISTMAS

Santa Laughs in July

A Christmas kiss for that Miss Surely her lips he could not miss Heartwarming and enticing That beau was truly in-loving A kiss since so long due Filled with artful cue A Christmas kiss in July The magic in this month did fly A time when laughter was on those lips Except for her and him who strayed from those trips Surrounded by doom and gloom A kiss which made each other bloom Love, wonderful state of bliss Lacking in it caused them to be amiss Repaired by a Christmas kiss in July Santa could only laugh from the sky

Space-Love

Let's escape to space
& Leave the human race

Space-love a new awesomeness
Forget the life & the gloominess

Kiss me, because I care
Even thought the life is unfair

I want to be a space-lover
Love you now, tomorrow & forever

Lest Live in a house made of stars
& drive spaceship instead of cars

We feel the space-love in moon
I'll be yours, you'll be mine so soon

Galaxy, universe, stars & limitless
Screw the world, we found happiness.

The True Meaning of Christmas

The True Meaning of Christmas! During this Christmas, let’s celebrate Christ’ birth. It was for all of us that he came down to earth. As we think about Bethlehem and the baby boy… We shout glad tidings to all! And peace and joy! This young child was to one day touch all of mankind. His message of salvation… Today… You can find! As we celebrate and fill up with holiday cheer… This same Jesus is alive today… And is always here! Though 2000 years ago, he was born in a manger... You can know him NOW! He doesn’t have to be a “stranger.” Won’t you spend some time and reflect on Christmas’ true meaning? It’s in the merciful arms of Jesus that you need to be leaning! The good news of Christmas can certainly be found… Across this nation. Every city… And town! This same Christ can bring peace to your life today! He loves you much more than words can say! May HIS love bring peace and healing to your weary soul… It’s only in him, that you can be complete and whole!!! By Jim Pemberton

A monastery grows from the songs

A monastery grows from the songs of its strange crew,
Monastery painted with blue of unique Voronezh blue
And a new comer, blond icicle, bare footed, gnarled
Deaf and mute -it is said -singing “Have mercy, God!”

Stalactite and stalagmite in their cells, monks and nuns
Some of them so innocent like the sober day that runs;
Hanged from the heaven of their great expectations held
From the glass dawn to noon singing:“Have mercy, God!”

The others in their rusty autumn or white winter,
All calling the Promised Land that started to glitter
In their heart and from this light the sky seems fired
And the forest`s echo repeated: “Have mercy, God!”

In the twilight mist two monks try to cut down
The evergreen tree to bring it for kids in the town;
Children glide on sleigh and even tired go later to bed.
They learnt carols and angels sing “Have mercy, God!”

The Spirit of Christmas

John and Bath, short for Bathsheba Adams, were quite a pair. Nothing ever got them down, except maybe an occasional cold. Even then she would take hers out into the cold winter day of the back parking lot of the slum tenement building. Where, there, she would nudge three of the fifteen cats trying to climb her double tattered blue jeans, out of the way, in order to stand and offer her cold up to God, seeing that it was all she had to offer Him and really she would be grateful, as well as giving up her only possession. She often asked God why He didn’t seem inclined to come and keep them company, because she believed in Him heart, body and soul and talked to him constantly because John just got tired of listening. She and John loved each other and no other. She hadn’t worked steadily in Lord knows when. John on the other hand got hurt on the job just before he was vested in company rights and the pitiful settlement he received was long gone. He was left as barely good company for Bath, telling her over and over to just wait ‘til “he gets back on his feet” literally. But that is not an option any longer, so Bath feels the need to keep him company. They really only had what you might call one vice. That being because you might say they were wasting good money for no good reason. They religiously bought two, one dollar lottery tickets every day that passed. Well, there it was, the day before Christmas and Bath didn’t have money but for one ticket. Well, she hotfooted down through Chinatown because there were still barbers there who would buy hair and she wanted to give John a special lottery ticket for Christmas. The deal done she was cold as the mischief and begging God not to let her sinus get worse as she headed through the light rain for those lottery tickets. John, meanwhile was hobbling down to get his ticket. She always insisted that he walk to the corner himself so if he won he would feel like he had bought the ticket. The rascal stopped and sold his crutch. Can you belive, for $1 he sold his crutch. Well, to cut to the chase, some friends carried him home after he bought the ticket. Beth came in and after a bowl of soup, they had a prayer and wished each other merry Christmas and exchanged the two tickets which were the gifts. Well, my story ends here. I'm not going to tell you one or both won the lottery. But in the spirit of Christmas I will say they lived quite long, and they were very happy while they lived.

For Jeramiah Jay Cook

Late at night, my eyes are burning
as I try not to cry.
I hold my breath and wonder
why you had to die.

I try so hard to fight the tears
as I lay around and dream.
Memories of younger years...
I choke instead of scream.

You battled many problems
and overcame many things...
and you were only a child,
No, an angel without wings.

You never had the most attention,
but you never seemed to complain.
But suddenly everyone’s in tears,
just whispering your name.

You won't get to live the life
you very much deserved.
No job, no kids, just shattered dreams
because you've left this earth.

You were only sixteen.
Its not right that you're gone.
Your heart quit beating,
but didn't quit loving.
Your spirit will live on.

My heavy heart is filled with regret.
I didn't say I love you, or goodbye.
And with memories I'll never forget,
you taught me how to fly.

Sometimes I wish I could turn back time,
if only for a day.
After all, God answers prayers,
but this one is thrown away.

My vision is blurred with tears,
I miss you so bad.
But I close my eyes and see you clear
and don't feel quite as sad.

Pretty soon I'll be grown up
but you'll still be sixteen.
but like you said,
God has a plan,
and in the end I'll see.

*Note*
Jeramiah Jay Cook, my cousin, "buba" and friend passed away Christmas of 2004 at a party.
Rumors fly about what it really was. Alcohol, pills.. it had only been 2 months since his own
mothers death (mine had died in 96') and so he got his Christmas wish.. to spend it with his
Mom. He has been having a really hard time with with substance abuse, but it was far from
what I expected when my Aunt called Christmas morning.. Someone I had always looked up
to, and grown up with.

Winter at Christmas

The streets were icy and slick Cars moved slowly on by There was a bustle of people A sparkle was in their eye Snow was on the ground, pretty Children threw snowballs around Each landing square on the girls Yelling as they hit the ground The adults were all shopping Looking for the gifts of the year Christmas would be here soon They shopped early as not to fear Windows were very much aglow Shining brightly within the snow Casting an orange glow about Giving everyone a good show The sidewalks were slick as well People had to walk with care They wanted to make it to their shops And to make it home, that being fair Nature has a way to bring winter Even if we move in the city Nature brings to us snow and ice We must deal with it, what a pity Christmas comes but once a year And we all go about our ways Christmas happens in winter Fills us with spirit all our days

Happy Holidays Or Merry Christmas

What if Christmas wasn't here? What if Christmas disappeared? Whenever December came... It just wouldn’t be the same! What if the baby Jesus was never born in a manger? The true meaning of Christmas would be in danger! If this happened... There would be no nativity. We wouldn’t have Christ' peace and tranquility! It’s almost like this now! It’s an “ever increasing business.” It seems like nearly everyone wants “Christ out of Christmas!” Why does it seem like Christmas is losing it’s true meaning? The very words; “Merry Christmas,” seem to be quickly disappearing! Many say; “Happy Holiday.” For fear they may “offend.” Having a “holiday” without Christ….

No Lord not again

I cannot believe what I see before my eyes,
speechless as I read...

too familiar is this scene,
repeating once again, surreal as if I'm back in time...

I once was near when the unthinkable happened,
Columbine, flowering youths cut down in teen prime.

I watched in horror as two souls entered, repeated over and over
the media; what a circus, as stories began to break...

I witnessed in my own back yard, as innocent lives vanished
'Why? What is the purpose, I did not know', I wept for each and every soul. And cried aloud "How can you be?"

trying to avoid the repetitive media, over and over again...
a christian channel offered me hope, and asked one simple thing.

Fall to my knees, and ask HIM into my life, to do with what he will,
surrender to his Grace and Mercy,

My life changed that day, so many years ago Columbine Columbine....
we thought you were the last.

As many of my peers in education stood, in terror, disbelief and anger of having no control. "Why? What is the purpose?" our innocent's, so young, so sweet, so worshiped by their families, so unforgivable this one unthinkable act .

One woman weeping, I ask if she's alright...
She looked at me and said, Someone's Christmas present is underneath a tree; it won't be opened on Christmas eve.

Another walked up, and clobbered my arm..."What the hell is going on?"
It's alright, if its what they need to do. God saved me, and humbled me...oh Columbine why? I can not say, nor will I try, for only God knows the master plan.

But like with me that somber day, back in Columbine. I pray that someone far from God, was softened just enough...

to fall to their knees and ask "God Please"
enter my life tonight....

Let an awakening occur...one united universal voice ring out.
No more bloodshed, no more death. Our children our the innocents and our future in them rests...

To utter the words "I'm sorry" or "you're in my prayers' seems so hollow right now. By faith alone, I can only say...let the heavens open and radiant light shine down, on the simple all American place called Newtown..

Holiday Gift

The greatest gift I ever got, came with a year that definitely was not.
Health costs and a scam had emptied everyone’s pot.
The tree was bare with nothing to hand out…
And my son had to work thru the Christmas Holliday, we all sought.

We wished him home but he had to work if he was to eat.
And for several years he had not wanted, with us to be.
But this year had taught him we were better than he had perceived.
And he wanted to come home to hold and be hugged, you see.

At the last moment he got the Christmas Day off.
Our gift to him was the price of gas and food on the four-hour trip back.
But his gift to us… you see was the greatest of all…
For he wanted to come home and simply be with us all.

Twenty-four hours minus 8 hours on the trip.
Dinner wasn’t much but it was all we could give.
But no one noticed as everyone talked…
It truly was the greatest holiday present of them all… that we ever got.

Thank you God... your gift to us wasn't lost.

Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree Not Rated PG

I've missed you honey.

The kids are not home.

I can't wait until you're home.

So that we can get busy.

So that you can rock around,

The Christmas tree with me.

I've got mistletoe all over me.

Come on honey let's play,

All over the house! My holly berries,

Are filled with juice so,

Come on ,you fun loving man,

We can play all night and all day.

You can gift wrap me and open,

Me up, of your loving I can't get

Enough! We don't have to be,

Quiet as a mouse. There is no,

One here. The neighbors will,

Know our names again. Oh well,

We heard theirs yesterday!

I want us to deck the halls,

With screams and shouts,

And moans and groans,

 Until the cows come home.

It's lovely weather for a,

Sleigh ride on top of you.

Baby it's cold outside,

The mistletoe is hung

On me. Hey jingle me

All the way all night

And all day. The carol

Of the bells will ring

For each round of

Us rocking around

The Christmas tree.

Untinsel me. Take off

My garland. Turn off

The lights. Unwrap my,

Skirt. Your candy cane,

Will licked and not bitten,

And and the Christmas tree,

Stand I'll be sitting.

My ornaments you may

Move to the side,

And on the cane I'll slide.

I will soon sing,

Or rest you merry man

After you sing, let it snow,

Let it snow, let it snow.

You'll then shout a laugh,

Ho, ho, ho, Merry

Christmas to you and,

To you a good night.

You rocked with me,

Around the Christmas tree

With all of your might.

Model Train That Did Not Go

 My second Christmas
 was quite a shock
 when I rose from bed
 to see my Christmas sock

The big surprise on the floor
 was a model railway
 rails, carriages and train
 oh what could I say?

 But all was not ok
 it was run by electric
so switch on off we go
no nothing moved at all quick

 This toy did not work
it had been bought second hand
 this was a big disappointment
as the day was not at all grand

 This is my first memory
 that I can remember
 since coming to earth
 on 27th of December

Autumn

Autumn
Some say autumn is sad
It has it’s moments
Rain , mist, dying nature...
Stillness in the air,
Cold, crispy days
Bonfires, burning leaves...
I say autumn is joyful,
Happy, outburst of colours
Laughter in the parks,
Children chasing each other
falling into the leaves,
Hunting for acorns
Little treasures hidden
Under the fallen canopy.
Chestnuts, pumpkins,
Pies and hot cocoa...
Gathering, harvesting,
Leaf pile building.
Bullions of gold corn,
Smiling red apples,
Nutty nuts
Delicious hedge fruit
Bounty of nature
Rainbow of colours
Symphony of shades and hues
Tints of autumn
Spell of the Grand Wizard Frost.
Turned leaves, like a giddy spark of
Yellows, oranges, crimson and browns
Glistening glitter
Dance in the wind.
Bright hues of last
hurrah of autumn
Before the white, gloomy
Silence of winter.
Magic of autumn,
Golden Age of the year
With the last leaf that falls
On the muddy ground
One knows that time has come
For another magical time ...
Golden October, Frosty November
Magical December
And with this the spell starts all over again....

New July Holiday

Warmth that flows within the seasons cheer,
To have peace on earth proclaimed again,
A giving time for all women and men,
To be able to see the children faces clear.

Smelling the pine that frames Christmas time,
Gloriously celebrating his birth so sincere,
Christmas in July comes but once a year.
Guiding happiness in this season’s prime.

Serving picnic cuisine with prayers enriched.
Family time together bringing love to all,
Dreaming of Christmas in July breaks a wall.
Bringing memories of an episode of Bewitched.

Holidays are Here

The holidays are here, they feel so warm
Even if outside the snow is causing so much harm

My Christmas tree is glowing
With little lights and decorations, so lively and flowing

There, I sit and enjoy the glowing essence
Of the festive season which makes me reminiscence

With eagerness and zeal, I anticipate,
The golden surprises Santa shall leave for me and my cellmate

Yes, the jail is my home,
Not a house but one with love and care, yes, my home

Here, I spend with my brothers of deed
This Christmas holidays, even if the aroma is one of bitterweed

Memories Of Christmas

Memories of Christmas through the years,
Have brought lots of laughter and many tears.
Memories of those who have gone on home,
Sometimes leave us sad and alone.
The good times that were had by all,
Grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, their happy faces I recall!
The gifts that were given, the fellowship we shared,
The love we all had, showed each other we cared.
The trees were so pretty, the food, oh so good,
Sometimes we would go caroling in the neighborhood.
We would exchange gifts by drawing names,
Some would get clothes, others might get games.
The homes would be decorated with ornaments and lights,
And we would all feast on the many delights!
There would be cakes, cookies, sandwiches, pies, and punch,
Some might eat a lot, others would just munch.
Before you knew it the night would be gone,
And the wait for next year would seem so very long!
But Christmas means more than just these things,
As we remember the birth of the Christ child and the salvation He brings!
He came into this world in a meek and lowly way,
Born of a virgin and in a manger lay.
The Shephards were frightened as the angels came to say,
The great news of His birth on this special day!
Born in Bethlehem, God's only son,
Savior from our sins, He is the only one!
So as I remember the Christmas's of old,
The greatest of all, was the one the prophets foretold!

never got a chance to say it

Where are you tink,When are you coming home?
K missed me more than I knew, she hasn't seen me in ages,
I missed her alot but was caught up in work,
It was almost Christmas and I wanted to go home but the stress of work and
adjusting to my new life had gotten to me..

I called K to make sure she was okay as often as I could but then I realized I haven't
spoken in quite awhile.
She was always on my mind, she lived a nightmare taken for granted by her spouse
whom to him was a burden.
A cruel mother her wronged her ,without seeing the true colors of the culprit.
It shattered me to watch her suffer with Cancer everyday and I wasn't there to be
with her.

She was strong, stronger than any person I knew ,
She lived for her daughter with every ouch of strength left in her,
Sometimes I called and she was warned like a bird in a cage,
Locked away and kept like a slave.

Holidays came as quick as the breeze but I was so busy I couldn't fly to and see her.
I knew she needed me and missed me ..
I called her on Christmas day and told her I loved her for a second before she ran of
again busy.

Old Years Morning I woke up a New Year was about to dawn ,
I heard the door bell rang, It was my boyfriend all energized,
So early babe to see me ,are you alright?
He took my hand and walked me the table
Sat me down and said to me "I have something to tell you"
Confusion filled my head ,Was he going to propose ?
I knew he wanted to for awhile ,but like this i thought it wasn't romantic.

Out came the words that pierced through my body like a knife,k's dead babe she
died this morning
I said "Is this some kind of joke because its not funny ,then he held me then left me
to be alone"
I ran upstairs and sat in the study searched for her picture and cry my life out,
I didn't get to see her or tell her I loved her"
She must hate me because she wanted to see me .

At her funeral on my Birthday as i watched her lifeless body,
So pale and sad,
I would not be able to laugh with her , go fishing, walk on the beach like the old days,
She wasn't here anymore I had to face that fact,
What ripped me apart everyday was not telling her on her last days
,How much she meant to me although I am sure she knew, But still
When I wake up sometimes and call her phone I forget she's no longer here and I
cry myself to sleep,
I try to be strong everyday to live for her and not forget,
Never take anyone for granted or you will live in regret.

Candle lit

Candle lit
This Christmas I truly only want you,
I wrote my list to the man in red too!
I want to wake up christmas morn and find
you with nothing but a bow as to bind
the ribbon so elegantly wrapped
around your soft curves, so softly strapped.
Imagine the excitement as I start
To tear those revealing ribbons apart
And drag my soft finger arcoss your chest,
and slightly kiss each part of you no less!
Underneath the candle lit room you scream
Enjoying the pleasures from me, it seems
Tis the season to be jolly this year
And the only thing that I'll want to hear
Is for you to say Merry Christmas!

What If Christmas Disappeared

The Dark Days of Christmas

2011 and Christmas isn't the same,
The silence and make belief joy
sends auspicious feelings far and nigh,
Revellers go through the emotions
just to avoid falling apart,
As news mongers spread doom and gloom,
Heralding the closing of schools,

The holidays have been reduced
to fear, angst and downsizing,
The dark days of Christmas has
everyone surmizing,

Spreading good wishes and cheer
may warm hearts everywhere,
The sentiments can bring hope,
to individuals who are unable
to cope,

Positive words and feelings
last beyond Christmas Day,
They can give hope and faith
all throughout the year.

Whiskey Christmas

It was Christmas Eve; I was a prisoner of my own divide.
Lost in mind, clad in drunken sadness, caged up inside.
Alone and forlorn my thoughts laden with whiskey lies,
Memories seem so distant, only a week since goodbyes.
Christmas tree glistening, blurry in my vision of tears,
Flashing lights bright, neighbors Christmas party cheers.
No presents or joy in this household upon this night.
Sorrows, misguided gulps of liquor, cloud my sight.
Heartbroken, gloomy devouring the demon filled drink.
No more, no less, my eyes roamed over as I did think.
Hopelessly lost in a whirlwind of memories of no more,
No more, love by a lover, no daughter to teach the score.
Left me in a house, no longer our home that we shared,
Only I and this half-empty bottle, feeling impaired.
She left me, taking my child a thousand miles away.
While here in this house of torture, me and myself stay.
Every corner a recollection blinks by crystalline light.
Splintered and speckled by the twinkling star so bright.
Atop the now barren tree which had shined with joys.
Years before cluttered with wrappers, boxes and toys
I slam a big gulp down my throat, since this was my first.
Night of my debut to the evil of whiskey blinding thirst,
Never before had drunkenness been a quest or even a try,
This night she devoured my soul, not wanting ever to cry.
Intoxication was a desire, though not ever beyond joy.
My virgin body of drink has choked me unable to deploy.
Sour mash tears wash down my face, wiping my eyes.
I hear my built up agony; pour out in inhuman cries.

The Following of the Pipes

On this cold winter night
A horror unfurls
As they leave their trenches
Under the Bagpipes skirl

It's Christmas Eve
In World War One
Over the top they leave
The killing has begun

Knee deep in mud
Barbed wire and bodies
The piper laments
Their bravery embodied

To march into battle
With their weapon of pipes
Whilst bullets and bombs
Leave the theatre in strife

Onward they march
Turning men into hero's
The battle of the Somme
Last centuries ground zero

What makes such a man
To enter a war
His weapon of music
That they follow him for

Amongst the men that fall
Others pick up their guns
When the piper falls
Their is no one

On this cold Christmas Day
The horrors have been unfurled
As one looks over the trenches
To a different world

But the very next day
In the distance you will hear
The sound of the Scottish Bagpipes
Leaving their enemy in fear

In memory to all who fell at Christmas time, and especially to the pipers
who used music as their weapon, we will remember them, as all will be remembered

Christmas

T'was the night before Christmas
And all through the house not a single noise could
be heard
For, you see, the only one up
Had practise of being quiet
even when she's screaming inside
With hand over mouth,
and tears streaming down her face
She silently sobbed the night away
The only festive colour running from her wrists
The only thing she wanted for Christmas
Was to be dead.

Is Jesus In A Box?

IS JESUS IN A BOX?

The lights are off, the tree is down
They've all been packed away
In an outbuilding or the attic
To await next Christmas Day

The ornaments all are carefully wrapped
In their individual box
The wreaths and centerpieces
And all the Christmas socks

But where did you put the Baby
Who was in a stable born
Is He packed up and laid away
Until next Christmas morn

Or is He living in your heart
And with you every day
Do you tell others about Him
Or is He packed away

The ornaments and all the lights
Can remain where they are stored
But you have a responsibility
To tell others about our Lord

To keep Him in the attic
To me, is surely wrong
He should be high and lifted up
And your life be filled with song

So don't put Jesus in a box
To be visited once a year
Keep Him in your heart year 'round
And your life will be filled with cheer

Christmas Is

A time for dreams, for presents and cheer
Or perhaps to reflect on the passing year
A time for each to give and share
With the ones we love, to show we care

The Christmas message is spread around
But tis sometimes lost in lights and sound
When that little boy was manger born
With no great fanfare or trumpeting horn

A boy so destined to bring great hope, belief
And to a troubled world some faint relief
But the message he spread as he grew older
Is lost in hype as our hearts grow colder

But it's time again to hear what he had to say
Because we need some hope in this modern day
A message of freedom, of life and love
A belief in eternity with God above

As you open your gifts and Christmas presents
Think of just what this day represents
Love, life, time with family and friends
He gave his life on a cross to see it never ends

So remember this during your time together
A life with Him goes on forever
And as you celebrate His birth with great cheer
Recall He is watching over you, all through the year.

a christmas remembered

A Christmas Remembered

Day before Christmas it was cold and we walked down
to the harbour to buy a tree and I remember the sea
that slapped against the dock was apple green and foamy.
Mother bought a tree, for next to nothing, since its top
was broken and it looked like a rejected child that waited
for a car to come pick it up and bring it to the orphanage
By putting the tree on top of the dinner table and a star
and a bit of glitter it looked nice in a child’s eye.

Mother was angry we didn’t know way, and went to bed.
We children sat on the floor and ate lukewarm rice pudding
and there was nothing under the tree. Mother got up told
us to dress and we walked to my uncle’s house. At first he
didn’t want to let her in, but when he saw us children he
opened the door. We had plenty to eat although my aunt
had a sour mien. But happy we walked home and thought
we had had a splendid Christmas.

The Perfect Gift

Nine months is not very long...although
it seems forever, since you've been gone.

I still remember that knock at the door, two
strangers, I recognized, by the uniforms they wore.

Disbelief in the words, I heard them say...killed in
action, on Christmas Day.

When you left me, for a land far away...I ask Jesus
to keep you safe.

I have been so alone, with just my memories of you,
but today your Christmas Present arrived, and he is
so cute.

He came into this world, giving me back my life,
someone I can hold , all through the night.

Merry Christmas, my sweet soldier...the words
I never got to say, you gave me a gift so perfect,
in every way.

Even though you are not here, to hold your son,
I promise, he will always know his father, and the
good you have done.

We will decorate our tree in Red- White- and Blue...
"This year, and always, in remembrance of you."

Merry Christmas from us both, your wife, and baby son,
we will all be together one day....when our work is done.

"Please, pray for our soldiers."

WHAT IS-TRUE MEANING FOR A CHRISTMAS TREE

Jesus is the Divine Reason for Glorious Christmas Season

I wondered.. What’s Christmas tree for?
What does a Tree have to do with Christmas anyways?
Why should we have a Christmas tree?
I don't have a tree-I mean really-what’s point?
I mean- yes-Trees are Beautiful
(yes-Tree for Santa-put presents under for children)

But What??? I mean
What is the True meaning?
As I asked.. my Lord in prayer
This is what My Lord revealed unto me
WHAT IS-TRUE MEANING FOR A CHRISTMAS TREE?

TREE REPRESENTS:The Tree of Life
All Eternal Life shall be given through Jesus Christ

BRANCHES REPRESENT:Jesus is Vine-We are Branches
Once Born-again-in Christ (Tree of Life)
(He is in us-We are in Him) Body of Christ
Christ in You---in the Hope of Glory--Together Eternity

LIGHTS- REPRESENTS:Eternal Souls
Souls who are Born-again-turned to Christ
Embraces God's Light of Christ

upon Our Savior---babe-in Manger

Giving from out Hearts-Loving, Sharing –Caring, Compassion

As I in Awe
then wondered
But...What about the Unbelievers?
My Lord what about them.. for you didn't mention them
As I continued on.. I asked My Lord.
What about those Souls
Who are unbelievers?

This is what my Lord revealed to me
Reason why there is no unbelievers
On the Tree.. Because… It is The Tree of Life..
Those whom are unbelievers
Have not obtained their place…
Unbelievers are Not Born-again
Unbelievers Not receive Eternal Life -of Light

Come take you place
Receive God’s Divine Grace
Come to Jesus
Be Born-again
Then Receive Holy Spirit
Divine Light of Christ inside of thee
Your Life-Light Will Forever Shine

Ps.. Revealed- Wow!
My Lord if this be so.. Please Forgive me
I would Love then to have the Biggest Tree Ever

Why Do We Take Christ Out of Christmas

Why Do We Take Christ Out of Christmas?

IF YOU DO NOT HUMAN

From “Daily Given and Other Poems”

Come forth, dear friend
Squeeze my hand and kiss my face
Even under the shadows of a pencil away
But you should not forget
You and I are human in our right moment to die

Not day I hope
Not in this particular month and not the next month either I should say
Alas! This is my bridge and I’ll wait for you to cross it together
Bring your body to me: Embracing and laughing and capping
What I left for you, and much more.
We should live one, two, or three hundred years
It can be for anyone who would like to sing which it allows you and me to understand.

Speak up like cuckoo’s soul or pulling in front of you the intimate uncertainty
Because you would see eventually we are going to find
That trail that today appears confuse.
No matter what day will make an end
No matter what hour rendering may seem thrust that for others
Sometimes like this, in exact order, find blindness or butterflies.

If you fall believe it or not
I would make for you and the others as a soldier
Pinching wet ground and crushing the living creatures out of my way
But I would carry you and with a best-known smile I would indeed reach
The other end that appears identical from the beginning.

Now I wish you Merry Christmas from this humbly and lonely man
The undone four-letters with which my mind usually I skip
Which by voice-over in a period of utmost solicitude
I should deliver it to you.

My Name

My name may not be special, and it may be very plain,
It may be John or Mary, it may be Mike or Jane.
But I know a name that’s sweeter than any name on earth,
And this is that great season we celebrate His birth.
One day a special angel named Gabriel came to say
Unto a virgin woman, “You’ll have a son some day,
And you will call Him Jesus, for He will come this way
To save all of His people from sin and sad dismay.”
That night there in a stable this precious child was born,
And now we celebrate it on every Christmas morn.
His name is far more precious than any name before
For unto you was born then the Savior, Christ, the Lord.
One day He died on Calvary His blood to shed for me,
To give mankind salvation abundant and so free.
I bowed in prayer to trust Him, forgive me from my sin,
He wrote my name in heaven, a new life did begin.
So now this Savior Jesus is the sweetest name I know,
He knows my name in heaven where some day I will go.
If YOU don’t know this Savior, He calls from heaven above,
“Trust My name for salvation, receive My gift of love.”
And when you do, He’ll give you eternal life so free,
And write YOUR name in heaven, forever there to be!

Written for our children's Christmas program at church, 2011

Christmas Dreaming of you

The house seems so quiet when you're not around
I listen intently to each little sound
Maybe I'll hear you pulling up the drive
I stand at the window and wait for you to arrive.

The view out the windows appears rather gray
I sit myself down inside I shall stay
I close my eyes and then envision you
I'm here alone Christmas dreaming of you.

The candles light flickers dancing in the air
Vision of you simply appear from nowhere
In all of my traveling you are never that far
When you're not here I wonder how you are?

I wonder if you feel the same way I do
Sometimes it's tough with all that we've been through
I wish upon a star and then it seems to come true
Snowflakes drift down as I'm Christmas dreaming of you...

Christmas Morning (A New Leaf in Life?)

You’re like Christmas morning when I was four
I’m wide awake and can’t sleep
I’m filled with excitement and cannot wait to hear from you again
Each minute has been an eternity since we last spoke
What awaits with morning’s light?
Nobody really knows
We’ll just see how everything goes
I pray it turns out alright
This experiment is cause for merriment
Will more follow?
We’ll see
As for now, like Christmas morning,
I am filled with uncertainty,
but most of all,
an unprecedented ecstasy

Christmas 365

I'm still enjoying the gift. Praise God! Christmas is not over for me. I'm still shouting
in victory not for the gifts under the tree but due to the fact that God so loved me that gave His only begotten Son to me. Do you want to enjoy and celebrate Christmas 365 for the rest of your life? Read John 3:16. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life." God gave you a gift. God gave one to me. Did you open it, or is it still sitting there unwrapped waiting for you? I can only advise you to open it by saying this:” O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that
trusteth in him.” God loves His children tremendously so He gave us the gift of life
and life more abundantly by giving us His son with a mission to save us all by dying
on the cross at Calvary. He was conceived immaculately and was born to heal the
hearts that are torn. He lived on the planet earth and performed His first miracle at
a wedding. And he performed many more in his life and still is right now. He knew
His purpose He died and rose on the third day with all power of the earth and
heaven in His hands so that you, me, your family can finally walk in destiny and live
eternally. Yes forever be alive. I love my gift. It took me awhile to unwrap it, but as
soon as I did my life is not the same. I’m still enjoying the gift. Christmas is not over
for me. I’m still shouting in victory for the gifts under the tree but due to the fact
that God so loved me that gave His only begotten Son to me. Yes He came with a
mission for all of us to be forever alive. That is why I celebrate Christmas 365.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosever
believeth in Him shall not perish nut have everlasting life." John 3:16
” O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.”
Psalms 34:8
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life
and have it abundantly.” John 10:10

On Christmas Day

On Christmas day I cried,
No family to hug.
Only a blessed pair of shoulders to shrugg.
Cough drops and lost salvia.
Precipitation hot as lava.
Living room packed yet so empty.
Heavy tears yet no sympathy.
On Christmas day I cried!
Game of memory in this darkened scenery.
Ready to be prosecuted,
Life or execute me!
Open gifts in heaven,
Unwrap love at eleven.
Lord knows on Christmas day I cried!
Bury me an ornament on a broken tree.
Let the world know I was all I could be!
When it all ends, it'll all be the same.
The ground will still flood when it rains.
Now you know on Christmas day I cried!!

The frenzy of holiday season

With the flow of people in the city
the time to put reason into Christmas shopping,
has its moments of attaching a price tag
to their affection in this Christmastime.

Perhaps, that obscures the true spirit
of what Christmas really means.
Our attitudes and backgrounds
would paint the meaning in our time.

Being asked to let go of old wounds
and other things that are not of God.
We take a journey of change,
prayer and real purpose of our lives.

Looking at our biblical gift
when Christ became one of us.
He gave us a second chance
to be partakers of his Kingdom.

While we recall and relive God's love for us,
the gift of redemption and our mission;
Re-aligns us to be transformed
into a new creation.

As we enter the shopping crowds
we come to struggle with sweeping ads.
The siren call of some ad wizards
makes us discern and opt for the right tone.

Hearing Christmas carols elsewhere,
with solemnity, subtlety and beautiful melody,
there's a whiff of warmth and introspection
that highlights the season of great devotion.

Face In the Snow

Sly had him no love for Christmas,
It was just another day—
When the devout celebrated
And weak-willed cowpokes did pray.

Old Sly, he weren’t all that bad—
No, by gosh, he sure was not—
He never did shoot him a man
That he didn’t think need shot.

Sly Stern was just an old drover
Who outlived his friends and time—
That was headed nowhere that day
Without a care or a dime.

So it was Christmas that morning
As he crossed the Mummy Range—
Heading higher and still higher,
When he felt a little strange.

He’d crossed these old mountains before,
But never on Christmas day—
Yet now he felt a bit confused
And he couldn’t find his way.

The wind and the cold grew fiercer—
Snow hit his face with hard slaps,
Sly knew he needed some shelter
As one hand froze to his chaps.

But all he could find was a ledge,
A wind break with icy sage.
He unsaddled his horse gently—
For the first time felt his age.

Quickly, Sly gathered up damp wood—
Built a fire to heat his soul—
Christ seemed nothing in a blizzard
As the snow soon took its toll.

Hours passed and so did the fire
As white snow whirled and then screamed—
For a moment he saw a face
Or so that old drover dreamed.

The blizzard grew stronger that day,
The worst in thirty odd years—
Covering the whole Mummy Range:
A Christmas with joy and tears.

With numb hands and ice-cased whiskers,
Sly took bullets from his belt,
Gently arranged them in the snow
To spell out just how he felt.

For in those final dear moments,
One face appeared in the snow—
The face of the Lord of this earth,
A face that he would now know.

Two months later his friend found it,
Next to his rock-frozen hoss—
The old drover’s bullets laid out
In the rough shape of the cross.

Though his saddle and gun remained,
There was no trace of old Sly—
It was as if he’d been taken
Away, far up, in the sky.

'Twas The Day Before Christmas Eve

‘Twas the day before Christmas eve
We gathered at the church
All sat transfixed
Not even a lurch

The preacher was ‘hot’
And spoke of the stress
He wanted the people
To hear and be blessed

“We have to remember
What Christmas is about
The birth of our Savior”
Then someone did shout!

It’s not about the gifts
‘Though we should always be a giver
It’s about He who came
Bringing Life from ‘The River’

Now what is the reason
If just a ‘holiday’ is this
Without the birth of Jesus
Another meaning is a miss

So if you’ve given in
To the hustle and bustle
And can’t find rest
Because of the tussle

Just think on these things
That Jesus was born
Remembering why
We celebrate Christmas morn

He came to bring peace
Give us access to heaven
All should honor Jesus
On this day given

So there’s hope for the world
To all who believe
In Him you’ll find rest
Just ask and receive

In His Heart- Christmas

In His Heart

I can see it in your eyes,
feel it beating in your heart.
Where does it end and start,
the heavy sighs and reasoning.

They fill the Holiday seasoning
with silver bells, drink, food, and merry.
People who would not stay up in prayer
with you for the lost and hurt.
But made it to the Christmas
morning bonanza at 1:00 A.M. for
those expensive sales.

Spending beyond their means for
some electronic gadget that will rust.
Tossing the left over penny change
to the bell ringer freezing outside the door.
Some will be at the Church for Christmas
dressed in their very best.

I see it in your eyes Lord and
feel the beating of your heart.
The sadness is you been replaced with
shopping madness and computers, gadgets
that rust your Birthday party they forgot.

For the real reason for this CHRISTmas season
was your birth the one of light in
a world of darkness.

Word CHRISTmas is done on purpose to show the true meaning for this season.
Merry Christmas PS Family.

Merry Christmas, Dad

Merry Christmas, Dad
     by Amy Swanson

Dad,

    I always think of you
           every day...
              but holidays like this

can make it a little harder.

I hear the Christmas songs of cheer
see the lights up in the square
           the busy murmurs of people
               shopping for their loved ones...

It seems almost perfect.

The tree, the lights,
      the gifts,
          the songs and plays
              joyful vacation days;

but something's missing.

The voice that rang throughout the house
      Christmas season
            singing triumphantly, beautifullly
                  "O Holy Night"

I still can't listen to that song
    without hearing
         your strong voice
               in my ears.

The hands that wiped my tears,
     wrapped my Christmas presents
made his special "banana pudding recipe"
                left me letters from Santa.

Oh dad... how I miss you.

I know they say time heals
      and life goes on
and all those other wonderful cliches
                 that people always tell you

simply because they don't know what else to say.

I will never forget you - my hero, my protector.

I speak of you often
    to my own little girl
         want her to know
the grandpa she can't meet yet...

the grandpa who would love her so.

Dad, you are always in our hearts and minds,
I never got to say thank you...
         for everything.
              for helping me to be

the woman I am today.

I look at my reflection in the mirror - I can also see you.
I sing my songs - and I can also hear you.
I laugh... and sometimes I can hear your laughter too.
My daughter smiles at me... and you are in her smile.

I wish that you could know how much
     you've always meant to me
and all the things that you have done
to shape my life, so positively...

But all that I can say,
        is this:

Merry Christmas, Dad.

I love you.

The Gift

Gifts that come in boxes all
Wrapped in pretty paper and bows.
Awaiting the dawn of Christmas morn
To be recieved with hearts aglow.

A Gift of that special word that comes from
The heart, telling of the Christmas story.
Mary, Joseph, Shepherds, and Kings afar,
Stars bright, it must be Christmas Eve night.

The Gift, lies in a manger of straw,
The glow that out shines the stable stall.
Angels sing their songs with heavenly bliss,
Jesus, Son of God born for us all.

Away In The Manger

out in the pasture sits a church
homemade by brothers hands and filled with dirt

given to Mother so it stops her hurt
decorated each Christmas for what's its worth

as Mother lays down the cotton skirt
out comes the angels the manger and baby Jesus without a shirt

next comes her towering soldiers buried into the dirt
holding their swords that really can hurt

strewn lights gazes upon the pasture's dirt
frozen in time like a star that shivers and quirks

Mama's eyes glistens like fireworks bursts
for all her effort and time even when she hurts

as mother kneels in front of her church
she praises baby Jesus for all he's worth

comes in from the cold and winters bursts
gathers the children as they all look at her work

and tells us the story of a Christmas birth
as we sip on hot chocolate and felt the hurt

of how Jesus died for our sins on this earth
as we wiped our tears with our night shirts

I was glad to run out and relight the candles burst
and give baby Jesus one more kiss and fix his grass skirt

Amen, Good Times

Her special month is November,
 My special month is December,
Gather around the fireplace,
 look at the burning ember
 My special time to remember,
 Listen to the wind chimes,
 These are my good times,
 Hear my voice,
 Please feel rejoice.
 Amen.
 No time for depression,
 Time for love and affection,
 Streets filled with snow,
 We're under the misltoe,
There we had our first kiss,
I've never felt so much bliss,
 Listen to the wind chimes,
 These are my good times,
 Hear my voice,
 Please feel rejoice.
Amen.
 Its time for joy,
Kids playing with their favorite toy,
Gathering around the Christmas tree,
 Always something jolly to see,
 Looking back at the year,
 Not a single tear,
 Flying reindeer,
Doing the shopping at the mall,
 Merry Christmas to all,
 Listen to the wind chimes,
These are my good times,
 Hear my voice,
 Please feel rejoice.
Amen.
We're coming home,
As a kid thats all we've known,
 Our homecoming,
 Our family singing,
 We're coming home again,
 Celebration with our children,
 We're coming home again,
Bringing our souls closer to Heaven.

Merry Christmas in This Recession

Merry Christmas to all of you,
I hope that you enjoy your family,
Even if you can’t buy your kids any toys.
The real reason for the season should stand clear,
Especially this year that we are in a recession.
It is a vast blessing that we are here,
Whether we are employed or not,
Whether we are far from friends or near.

Jesus is the reason why wee are here,
And it is a great thing to celebrate his birth,
Because he is worth more than anything we can buy.
So this Christmas look into the sky to give the big guy,
Not Santa Claus, praise for His first day of life.
Husbands’ mega love your wives.
Mom’s and dad’s ultra cherish your kids,
And let them know whose birthday it is.

I don’t have much this year,
But I will still spread cheer.
To be here it is more than a blessing
Merry Christmas to you in this recession.

Right Now I Really Hate Myself

Right now I really hate myself,
for the things, this past summer I've done.
And the pain I caused my beautiful wife,
my daughter, and my son.
Six months or so have passed,
and oh so many tears I've cried.
I sometimes wish that in that room,
I would have just up and died.
Now as Christmas fastly aproches,
Im sadded once again in heart;
For the debt that I created,
from a lustful heart.
Also how depressed I feel,
for Christmas will surely be,
One of very little,
under our Christmas tree.
So for now I feel truly sadden,
for the kids will wonder why,
Santa skipped our house this year,
for some reason passed us by.

Season miracle

Okay so here we are again the holiday season upon us approaching and an end to another
year
Most people are happy and children filled with such Christmas cheer
For me in my present times my emotions for the season just can't be sincere
My kids are so far out of state and they won't be here
The man I'm deeply in love with isn't near
While most are hungry for a traditional Christmas dinner and pumpkin pie
I'm here forcing myself not to and will not allow myself to cry
It's his eyes that I need to gaze so lovingly into, that is for what I'm famished
The years apart and the miles between us never caused our love in any way to diminish
Holding my kids tightly is something I miss so much
Oh how I wish they were here so I could see their sweet smiling faces and such
All I see upon closing my eyes is my reaching out to them, and them reaching back to me, I
long so badly for each and everyone of their touch
So while people are listening to the church bells ringing
Carolers that go door to door with their Christmas songs that they will be singing
And to the New Year everyone soon will be in their homes and hearts bringing
I'll be right here wishing on a miracle or two
It could happen you know and something good is just bound to happen soon
I keep my faith, and I open my heart, soul, and mind up and try very hard everyday in
every way to keep right on pushing through
I want to wish a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Seasons Greetings, and a very Happy
New Year to all of you
God Bless each and everyone may all your dreams come true

The Cradle And the Cross

The cradle of Christmas
Has no meaning without the Cross.
The babe we celebrate at Christmas
Was born to win us back from loss.
Part heavenly yet part human,
This gracious Christmas gift,
Was given to save mankind;
Redeem the God-mankind rift.

The Cradle and the Cross
Show us God’s great love;
Reveal his glorious power
And his life over death from above.
They give us great hope for a future—
A hope that cannot die.
When we acknowledge the Cradle and the Cross;
Upon Christ’s life and spilt blood we rely.

From Christmas to Easter
We’re reminded of the Cradle and the Cross;
The sacrificial life of God’s Son,
That his own people sought to toss.
The Cradle and the Cross
Were prophesies of old.
God’s child was born unnoticed by most,
Yet worshipped with incense, myrrh and gold.

The Cradle and the Cross
Bring forth glorious hope;
Show us that there’s nothing
Beyond God’s power and scope.
They give us reason for joy
And peace in our hearts to reign.
May the goodwill of Christmas
Be with all on earth to proclaim!

Christ Came For You

He was born this day over two thousand years ago,
A Savior for the world to know.
The angels rejoiced, and shepherds went to see
This baby born to set captives free.
In your life have you done the same,
Sought the gift that on Christmas came?
Have you allowed Jesus to save you from sin?
Have you invited this dear Savior in?
If you haven't, this is what I pray,
Accept the real gift of Christmas today.
It's available to you if you ask and believe
And Christ as your Savior you do receive.
If you know Christ as your Savior now,
Share what He's done in your life somehow,
And give thanks to Him on the day of His birth
For what His coming into your life is worth.
May you know the spirit of Christmas all year through,
And celebrate daily that Christ came for you.

Christmas Stars

Snow fell down one starless night
From out the plume of lonely clouds,
To decorate the land with white,
Adorn the hills with pallid shrouds.

The eyes that gleamed behind the glass
Watched the weather rage outside,
Saw the darkness come to pass,
Filled with wonder, saucer wide.

Then from the ether, from the swirl,
Through a split in clouded night,
A silver shaft impaled the world,
And lit the earth with vibrant light.

Upon the eve before the day
Iconic magic rose and shone,
At once the darkness cast away,
A Christmas star to wish upon.

In modern times of strife and war,
When hatred reigns a harsh regime,
It ill behoves us to deny
Our children of a better dream.

So on the eve before the day,
Make the demon year be gone,
And teach them of a better way,
Of Christmas stars to wish upon.

Christmas Time Is Here

I think back to many a year
when Christmas time was very dear
our tree aglow with lights and fruit
having spent many hours in rubber boots
trudging the woods for that special tree
snow had fallen clear up to our knees
we'd trim and cut then make a stand
our Christmas tree just looked so grand
we dried some fruit that hung with care
even strung popcorn which was very rare
the lighted candles stood so tall
praying each night that they wouldn't fall
our Christmas time so very merry
none of that rush with cash and carry
we had things made like socks an shirts
never worried if the shirt didn't work
stockings were filled with fruit and nuts
we never expected or had very much
oh i think back to toughs wonderful days
wishing many could have seen our ways.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

The Virgin Birth

Walking on the water of the life before the birth of pain.
Seeking to become the savoir of a World become insane.
Coming to this planet not inside a golden spacecraft.
Coming to this planet from a place of quietness.
Using the life of Spirit to explain the life within.
Poetical remembrances of virgin birth await us soon.
Future is often just repeated past.
Only once is Grace afforded us.
Please dont let it lapse.
This Christmas remember Christmas Future
while enjoying Christmas past,
and Inn this Christmas Present
please say Jesus of the Virgin Birth.
When people cry for saving this one will,
The City Of The Nazerene is always on a hill.

Peace on Earth

When Christmas
sends peace on Earth,
it must stay here for ever,
because this love comes from the stars.

I wish days like Christmas
will stay on Earth and never go,
with the bird's song on the snow
while heaven sends its own music.

Laughter and million lights,
like the rays of the star,
like the angel's song
like the wind's soft whisper.

This is Christmas, this is peace,
this is love in our hearts;
for the rich, for poor, for young and old,
God's treasure will open.-

Jesus and the angels

Two days before Christmas Eve in New York City.
A little girl named Hope had the heart of a giant at the age of seven years old.
Hope and her loving parents where all together decorating the Christmas tree.
Hope asked her mother, “Mommy will I ever see Jesus and all the angels”.
“One day when it’s your time”, said her mother.
“It would be nice to visit grandma again”, said Hope.
Her mother told her, “You know she’s always looking down on you”.
“Really”, she asked her father with a big smile.
That night Hope woke up with a stomach ache.
“Daddy, daddy my tummy is hurting again”, Hope cried to her father.
He told her, “Alright let’s get some medicine from the cabinets”.

A little while later Hope got really sick.
She was taken to the nearest hospital.
The doctors couldn’t figure out what was wrong.
Running tests over and over.
Still nothing showed up on the screen until they x-rayed on her stomach.
Finally an answer was found, but a cure was not.
It was all too late for little Hope.
She had developed cancer and it was on the final stage.

Any moment would be time for her to go.
Her parents cried in deep sorrow, thinking how to tell their child that she’s going to
die.
Hope’s parents walked in the room trying fighting the tears from their eyes.
They asked their daughter, “Sweetie do you remember about the place called
heaven?”
“That’s were God lives”, Hope said
Her father said, “Well pretty soon you’re going to take a trip there”.
She asked, “Will I get to meet Jesus and all the angels?”
Tears began to rolling down their eyes as they hugged their little girl goodbye.

The funeral was held on a beautiful Sunday morning.
Hope’s mother couldn’t bear the pain any more.
The next night she had a dream about her daughter.
“Mommy I’m coming to tell you that I love you”, Hope said.
She continued, “I know you miss me when you cry but forever I will always be with
you”.
“Tell daddy I love him too and grandma sends her love”.
“I got to meet all the angels and even Jesus too”.
“It’s almost time for me to go back”.
“Don’t worry about me because now grandma and I are watching over you”.

I hate Christmas

(This is a fictional poem)

Most people love Christmas but I don't.
People tell me that I should learn to love Christmas again but I won't.
Something tragic happened on Christmas day.
My life was ruined when my family was violently taken away.
Three robbers broke in my house and killed my wife and daughter.
A gun was aimed at my head while I watched them get slaughtered.
They stole our valuables and then shot me with one of their guns.
They left right after shooting me and I called 911.
I was rushed to the hospital and I'm still alive.
But my heart is broken because my family didn't survive.
My life was destroyed and I live in hell because of this nightmare.
They finally caught those men and I hope they get the chair.
I have something to say and I'm sure that you'll agree.
If you have a family, you're better off than me.

One hair of head no cold a smile instead.

One long leg and then one more.

Two arms to hold.

One woman of love and riches keeps me warm.

One love inside.

Purple wings beating beside the thumping of my heart.

Early christmas can be a smile.

Captured with devices but meant as love from far inside.

I love pARME is what my letter to Santa must say.

One woman made of love.

Chrissy's Home (Part II)

"You're not afraid- are you, Stacey?" She giggled. "Don't you think you
ought to slow down?" I mustered. "We'll be alright," she said with a grin and kept
on trucking, but when we parked, I almost responded as the Pope does when he
deplanes. However, that would have been too cynical; yet, when the Christmas
holidays rolled around, I left the driving to Greyhound.
While at home, my Christmas was very merry, and New Year's Day
was happy, until I received "the" call. It was Chrissy's roommate,
Belinda. "Stacey." She paused. "Chrissy died yesterday." "What-?!" I exclaimed
softly, uncertain of what I had just heard. "The weather was bad on her way to
church, and her truck hydroplaned into oncoming traffic," she responded. "But
they say she died instantly." Then we silenced.
As I clutched the Christmas card Chrissy had made for me, my heart
bled with grief. Although I felt a great sense of loss, I never blamed God or
Chrissy's driving for the fatality. Neither did my eyes shed a tear, not because I
repressed my emotions, but for the reason I shared at the BSU memorial service
held in her honor. "This is not a time to mourn, but a time of joy to celebrate
Chrissy's homecoming, as she would have wanted us to. And we know where
she is, where her heart has always been, home with Jesus." Yet alive here,
Chrissy is in my heart and commemorated in books throughout this country
through the following poem I wrote with her in mind

When Special Moments Come Again

Moments come and go,
But special moments come again,
When the thoughts of you with me
Seem they never have an end;
As a touch brings back sensation
And a song triggers emotion,
A smell brings back the memories,
As a taste triggers the notion
That we'll always be together;
What we shared will never end,
And I know that you're right here
When special moments come again.

To Each Of You

My Christmas wish for all of you,
is that your smiles are many, not few.
The path you take, on your journey through life,
will bring you happiness, and your nights be bright.
Velvet will be the cushion, that breaks your falls,
and rainbows of beauty will follow you all.
You will have peace in your heart, that we all search for,
while any shadows that linger, will be gone forever more.
This is my wish to all my friends near, and far,
our distance may be great, but we gaze upon the same stars.
Merry Christmas from the South, to every corner of the world,
each of you are so precious, Soups finest, diamonds, and pearls.

YOU FOR CHRISTMAS

The snow is coming down outside
beautiful white covered streets,
twinkling as it falls reminders of how much I love you.
I can't see you anywhere, I begged you not to go
but you did it anyway.

Holiday lights are going up everywhere
even I put my Christmas tree up,
topping the Angel on top my wish was
"Having you here for Christmas".

Children running playing in the snow
elders admiring the decorations
those in love holding hands keeping warm in the December cold.
I'm walking by watching it all pass, still wishing I had you for Christmas.

Christmas Day families waking up together
love is all around them,
I'm waking up all alone
looking at your picture besides me I have to let a tear drop
my Christmas wish never came true.
I don't have you
for Christmas.
