When I Die

As my spirit look down on the flesh,
Will it be angry or happy at death,
Will the life that I have lived be an inspiration,
Or will the whispers be negative conversations,
Will the church be full or will it be empty,
Will the tributes be 2,or will it be plenty,
Will the few that knew me laugh at me,
Or will children and elders cry for me,
Killed violently, would someone die for me,
Would my over-seas friends, really fly for me,
When "Across the Bridge"is sung, and the dust thrown in,
Will I be spotless or filled with sin,
Will the pastor preach that the Lord I had found,
When I am burnt or put under the ground,
Will my kids be comforted,I prepared for death,
Or will they be angry,I left them in debt,
One thing is for sure, death for the living,
So live your life to the the fullest, from the beginning....

Goodbye, My Child

Where cradled canyons sing
Of ebony wood in the forest
There lies a gurgling spring
Where cockcrows sing their chorus
To the melody of singsong birds
There I’ve concealed my sensuous words
Filled with befitted signs
The saccharine whiff of my designs

Come to me my mortal youth
To the wild realm of your truth
Where nymphs and gnomes abound
For the earth is filled with weeping
And only your tears be found

Where the fogs of night are fountains
Spills of glistened moon ignite
By distant silhouette mountains
We dance with passion of fight
Entwining ancient stance
Mingling hand in hand we dance
Till the mountains smile on high
Near and far we spring
To pursue the realest of dreams
While the world cries at its seams
Anxious in trouble to cling

Come to me my mortal youth
To the wild realm of your truth
Where nymphs and gnomes abound
For the earth is filled with weeping
And only your tears be found

To where the ridges merry make
From the beaks of wooden bright
In sparkly pools the ghouls awake
That scarce to stir our night
We watch for seekers down under
Muttering secrets in their soul
We bid them lucks of shivers
Dipping gently in
From reeds that hide a tear of a foal
Under the gentle rivers

Come to me my mortal youth
To the wild realm of your truth
Where nymphs and gnomes abound
For the earth is filled with weeping
And only your tears be found

Far away she shall ever churn
The taciturn eyed
She’ll listen no more to turn
To the working mills beside
Or the scrubbing of the barn
May peace weave in her song
She shall wave in the yarn
To a haven known as Belong

Come to me my mortal youth
To the wild realm of your truth
Where nymphs and gnomes abound
For the earth is filled with weeping
And only your tears be found

For she comes, the mortal youth
To the wild realm of her truth
Where nymphs and gnomes abound
For the earth is filled with weeping
And only her tears be found

Speak of thee

He is above us in the clouds
run through the fields and speak of thee
                                              He will grow roses

I will be the stem of the roses
for I shall never leave your soil

You will be the tree I grow beneath
and he will be our rain.

Ascending Epiphany

I realize limitation
	Is an illusion.
My destiny is without
	Boundary.
		Looking,
Beyond death. Beyond the periphery
Eternal Incarceration
Cosmic chaos is cooking...
	Infinite combinations
In infinite situations
Attuned yet unaware,
A universe of oppositions
Frequency and energy
Space, matter
A spiraling dichotomy.

an ascending epiphany.

GOD

I come to you on bended knees
Knowing you will hear my pleas
By your side is where I long to be
Oh, God,be mercilful to me

Your love I know will forever last
As you free me from my past
In your debt I'll always be
Oh, God, be merciful to me

Lord, I look up with pleading eyes
Toward Heaven, beyond the skies
Your face soon I hope to see
Oh, God, be merciful to me

Now my death, I know is nigh
Take me Lord, with you on high
There, with loved ones I will be
God has been merciful to me

Before my soul reaches the sky

Before my soul reach's the sky.

On earth, i would climb beyond to the peak of success.

Reaching beyond the reach of my physical stretch.

Before my soul reaches the sky, victory will win the look of my face and place in my hand the torch of accomplishment. The streets i walked on will memorize my foot steps in gold.

Warm memories, left in the time of cold.

Before my soul reaches the sky,my desires and dreams fulfilled will unleash from a ruby chess, beams of contentment.

Tokens of joy left behind to be spent in memories.

In the golden places of their heart they will remember me.

Before my soul reaches the sky,i will solve the mysteries of life, but after all one mystery unsolved.

That i will solve when my soul reaches the sky.

Dementia

He was always so happy
strong and bold.
He'd give you the shirt off of his back.
Tough.
Independent.
He had a rough life
growing up through the depression,
but like he always does,
he got through it.
He has two boys, of whom he is so proud.
Moved from Regina, to Victoria.
He had the best life anyone his age could have wanted.
But ever since his wife died,
he has not been the same.
Sad
Lonely
Empty.
But like he has always done,
he got through it.
Mind slipping,
just a little forgetful.
That's how it always starts out...
But like always, he powered through it,
until now...
He is not the same person that I used to know.
He been sentenced to the prison in his own mind.
Possessed by the thoughts of his dogs ashes.
He likes to play the blame game,
but we know he doesn't remember that it was him.
He wakes up in the night
shaking with pain,
tears streaming down his face.
There is nothing we can do,
Oh well...
Two more tylenol.
Hold on to hope
for as long as you can,
It's only a matter of time now.
He gets vocal, a very loud tone.
He'll block you in your room
and make false accusations
But we know that it's the pain induced monster in him.
Tick tock, tick tock...
You can't handle the stress anymore
you have to leave.
Just hope for the best,
maybe it will get better.
Surprise, it doesn't.
Your denial is foolish, everyone knows
what happens next.
Sedation
Medication
Anger
Hurt
All results of
dementia

Emotional Turbulence

The voices grow louder, Intensifying with emotion, anger lining every aggressive word. My insides squeeze tighter as the vitriol poisons my mind, How does such hostility exist? As the sound of hatred deepens, The feelings strengthen their grip, like a vice, So tight, I can no longer breathe All the negative emotions I have ever felt, fill me, Threatening to overflow. So long have they been banished… Enough. No more! My mouth opens, An earsplitting scream of pain and suffering shatters the silence, Sobs of sorrow and grief wrack my body, Murderous shrieks of anger and hate, Wretched cries of self-pity and self-loathing, Poison the air. Now, free of these emotions. But the monster still exists Within the dark depths of my mind.

My Midnight Grace

As I lay me
down to sleep
I pray the lord
my soul to take
if I shall die
before I wake
please watch me God
all through the night
and wake me and my loved
ones
at morning light
please help me
become successful
with the endeavors I seek
please send me a soul mate
in which I can keep
everlasting love
passionate heat
please grant me the serenity
to know right from wrong
and be able to lead
by example
strive to overcome
any downfall
please keep my spirit strong
through the issues
that toil in my soul
I aspire for diamonds in life lord
and all around me
I see coal
I aspire to turn things around
for I feel my wishes have fallen
upon deaf ground
my heart has no voice
they struggle to hear my sound
I pray to be taken
away from my daily
battles, that humble
although compared to others
in the world
its not much trouble
to me, I feel
my spirit is caged
and yearns to be free
King of all Kings
in your image, you
made me
you already know
each single step
my individual thought
you divinely bound me
in mothers womb
my existence you sought
bless me with the
chance to be
the person in which
you hoped for me
to soar like an eagle
dipping my talons of success
in life's sea
grant me an optimistic attitude
for that is the key
Amen to Thee

The Old Rugged Cross Suffered The Worlds Greatest Loss

My favorite of songs is The Old Rugged Cross.
The most tragic of days was the worlds’ greatest loss.
For sinners that day were all given their chance.
His Father in heaven could not even bear to look not even one glance.
Forgive them He prayed as His life’s blood ran down to the ground.
Can you picture Him there wearing that thorny old crown?
On that hill so far away, sad but precious memories were made.
Born of a virgin mother in the tomb He was laid.
Death could not hold Him, death would not last.
Three days in that tomb, so long ago, death too it would pass.
He arose and was seen by many it was said.
Our Savior arose from the grave and no longer was dead.
As He gave His final words to His apostles and friends.
He ascended to the clouds but they knew they would see Him again.
He made us a promise He would rule once again.
I feel that day is coming we’re reaching the end.
The prophecies that abound.
With each new day they seem to be coming unwound.
Are you ready my friend for the Millennium Reign?
Are have you sunk to wearing the mark worn by Cain?
Sacrifices my friend we all have to do.
Just look at Jesus and the sacrifice He made, was made just for you .
So on that hill so far away I kneel at the thought.
With His precious blood my cleansing was bought.
And what have we learned, or did He die just for nought?
I look to Jesus and His love I have sought.
He must come first in all that we do.
And when the day comes you’ll see I speak true.

Waiting

Mountains crumble no more to be
Oceans of woe since you left me
Thunder rolls and my heart it breaks
Humbly life ends, my soul it quakes
Everlasting grief with no mend
Reminds me daily, it will not bend

Inconceivable, this pain I bear

My love's not gone, together we'll share
In lasting glory at Jesus' feet
Serenity and grace, oh how sweet
Salvation unites on heaven's shore

Yesterday's gone, tomorrow brings more
Only a moment in time we wait
Until we meet at heaven's gate

Bell's Blues

Staring, vapor locked, at my Hammond B-3 console organ, which dominates my
kitchen. Surely a symbol of my madness. I can't help, but think, if the keys were
the days of my life, and the black ones represented the bad days, are there
enough black keys?? Fighting petulance, self-pity...losing...
Wondering if I can stand another minute alone. Atop my organ, music books,
and the complete works of Edgar Allan Poe, another mad poet.
Plagued by physical agonies that merely complete a perfect circle of anguish
and distress. Even to worrying of misspelling a word again. Pure lunacy.
Remembrance of my 1863 death at Missionary Ridge, something I became
aware of as a young child before I'd ever heard of reincarnation. Or just an early
sign of the madness to come??
I am lost in a befouling miasma of deep despair. My life's hopes down to 2
desires; one last music band, and taking my son to Disneyworld. Money is
meaningless to me.
I am well aware that death is as natural as life. And I would venture to guess
that the loss of my father, my young cousin Billy, my dear friend Mark Trotiner, and
too many others, are "Business As Usual" in this universe. But not for me.
Being terminally ill myself is something I have long since come to terms with.
And what a reunion it will be!! But I must continue to go on surviving as though I
cherish this long and barren life.
My writing, especially my poetry, my poet friends, my music, my musician
friends, and a few relatives and others; these are the meds that work for me; not
the 30 or so pills I must deal with everyday. So thank you all.
And now an addendum, one which brightened my day:
Mark Trotiner long maintained that he gave Mark Knoffler (Dire Straights) the
idea for his hit song "Money For Nothing", when Mark Knoffler came into the
appliance chain store he worked in way back then, where he bought, and drove
off with several T.V.s, singing the prototype words he'd gotten from Mark Trotiner.
Over the years, I tested him repeatedly, looking for the tale-tell deviation in the
story one finds in a false tale. He never faltered, he never failed.

Whispers

I once heard a saying,
that the happiest people are the saddest
Shining because they’ve seen the darkest
Like the lotus that grows out of mud
Or the rotting stump that bears a bud..

You never know what troubles the mind
So be careful with words unkind
The glowing person just beside you
Could be a crumbling ruin behind the hairdo
 Most people struggle everyday
Souls burdened with decay..

I guess it takes a lot of courage
To act normal with that damage
Hard to believe that under the surface
Lives a soul with no purpose
A cry for help won’t be any crisper
Listen to the their inner whisper..

Quit That Tapping

like the raven
who taps taps upon
your chamber door
do not fret my Virginia
for it's my shadow
moving across the floor
this is what I'm telling you my darlin
and nothing more

beneath lattice
I still call your name
come to me virginia
come hear the tap tap
upon your chamber door
for only you my love
I surrender and never more

wind howls in blanket snows
here I stand so all alone
broken hearted and misconstrued
my Virginia who lies under stars and moon
just a tap tap upon your chambers door
tis I and nothing more

tales of hidas truth
blackbird sings harps cords
just like the tap tap upon your chambers door
my sweet Virgina whom I adore
for there'll be love waiting and nothing more

as I lay right next to you in this tomb
I counted only seven who have even knew
the times of this raven who
tapped tapped upon your chambers door
twas only I and will be never more

Just Reach

just reach your hand out to the sky
pull your loved ones back to your side

lets get to say one more goodbye
for we never wanted them to go away and die

as now the days and nights lay
in such sweet disguise

so let us once again our lord
stare into their illumating eyes

as we reach out for them
in your broad horizon sky

and get to hold and kiss them
even if their not by our sides

for if this is however feels when we die
then I'd like to be that angel in that sky

so I can just reach out right back
and wipe their tears too from their eyes

May You All RIP

Terrified Tears

The face of an angel is all thats here,
One beautiful freckle equals one terrified tear.

Not ready to leave, but has to go,
Wants to go back, but god says no.

Leaving your life is a scary thought,
I guess its something that cant be faught.

A mother, a father, a sister, and friends,
A meaningful life that suddenly ends.

An angel is what she was meant to be,
Now just think of all she can see.

Looking over her family night and day,
Saying "I LOVE YOU",in her own special way.

In the night we sleep, In the day we cry,
As she watches us all,
From her star,
In the sky.

Don't let death be a four letter word

What do we do when we know our life is nearly through?
Do we get mad and throw a fit, what good would that do?
Or do we push everyone away with nothing more to say/
Or do we turn to God and thank Him for giving us this final day?
We all know from that first day how life as we know it must someday end.
What if this were not all there is, would you then be willing to listen my friend?
What if we knew there were certain other places we must attend?
The Bible speaks of heaven and also of a place called hell for those who
choose to sin.
The good part in the bible tells how even the sinners can be forgiven.
It tells us by repenting and claiming Jesus as our Savior we still can enter in.
Is death our final captor, well I sure pray it’s not for me.
There is but one way to know and not many are in a hurry to see.
I just pray death is not a four letter word for that’s not where I wish to be.
No I choose to walk in the light of my Savior for all eternity.
Not many know what day is their chosen day.
And that is why we must turn to Jesus and follow in His ways.
So don’t let death be a four letter word and make you afraid.
That you repent all your sins and turn your life to Jesus is what I just prayed.
Death awaits us all behind every corner or maybe behind the next door.
I just pray that we are all ready and someday we meet on Heavens Shore.
The Lord Keep Us Till Then.

Bell's Blues (Conclusion)

Today, I had a chance to ask his widow, Laurie, about this story. She
confirmed that it did happen, and he came home from work that day excited, and
told her and their 3 daughters about the event.
And sure enough, shortly thereafter, the song became a hit on the radio, and
M.T.V., in those ancient days when they actually played music.
     This news brightened my day considerably, and I'm happy to share it with you;
so when you next hear that song, remember my good buddy, Mark Trotiner, the
uncredited genius behind it.

The King Of Pop

from his abc's
to that freaky billy jean

came a pop star
for all to love and see

from the apollo's stage
wondered if you were ready for screaming rage

for you never had a childhood of bliss
only done what was on joseph's list

a studded white glove
and white socks just because

a star on the hollywood walk of fame
for you sang and danced showing no shame

scandals of twisted truth
did not detour you from your missing youth

neverland was your own safari escape
who would figure your best friend would be a chimp of faith

michael may god cradle you in his arms
and basked in your king of pops worldly charm

will forever miss that porcelain smile
and always think of you on my radio dial

for now your at your heavens trial
may god forgive this lost and lonely child

My Love After Death

You can call my name but you wont hear me answer
At least no in this physical world
You know, my love, that I never wanted to be
Separated from you
What I would do to take everything back
What I would do to stop you from crying
You need to go on with your life
And just leave me as just a memory

Though I may be dead now, I still live
I am still alive within you
And know one thing now
I love you and will always as I eternally sleep

Hold my hand, isn’t it cold?
Well know that on the inside it is warm
To see you happy is a dream that I still hold onto
From this day forward
What I would do to hear your voice again
What I would do to express my love for you
But since I love you so much
I want you to be happy and move on

Though I may be dead now, I still live
I’ll be alive in spirit, honey
But I haven’t left without
Leaving you a gift as well as my will

What I would do to see you again
What I would do to say, “I love you” again
But you needn’t focus on me
For I’m still with you, just now a part of you

Though I may be dead now, I still live
You shall see a part of me again soon
Just 9 months from now
You will see some on me with a part of you
A new creation because of my love for you…

"What If?

W/hat if sickness and death were no more?
What if racism was something to abhor?
What if crime, war, and poverty ceased?
What if life took on a brand new lease?

Could you live in a world thus described?
Where children won't have to run and hide,
From people wishing to do them harm,
And growing faint out of fear and alarm.

What if every man was treated the same?
Not looked down upon and called ugly names?
What if everyone was considered a brother,
Instead of hating and hurting each other?

How about the war going on today?
Couldn't we have thought of some other way?
Without sacrificing so many lives,
Is it worth it that so many died?

Wouldn't you love to never say "I'm sick,"
Disease's gone, every one take your pick!
What if death walked right out the door,
Never showing his ugly face here anymore!

To live in a world such as this,
Where bad and evil don't exist,
Enjoying so much happiness and peace,
Where all the former things have totally ceased,

What if?

Girl

Its so hard to say good-bye but I still cry,

Now that I realize that you gone out of my

life, girl I just can't stop writing poems

about you, I love so much, girl I'm about to

go insane all my days still look like rain,

girl I go through so much pain, I don't know

if I could remember my name, it feels like

I'm about to loose my mind, I know your legs

are tired, because you run through my all

the time, girl, over and over I think about

you, now I hope you see how much I'm still

in love with you.

THE LIFES' PATH

Such anniversaries
I dread...
Such memories,
of remembering the dead

The lifes' path
Births ,deaths and more
knocking on my door

I must open the door,
these things must come
I cannot avoid,
part of things I have done
Things I saw

This path...
Filled with boulders
Walk round
Walk over
Take a crying shoulder

A path can never end...
Until I arrive at deaths' door
A journey strewn...
with births,deaths and more
People and things to mend
People I will see soon

So many times I lost my way
Yet, the path always found
Family and friends , rally round
I walk another day

The people I know
who have gone on before
Were here today,
on the path
They showed me the way

They too,were on the path
Births,deaths and more
They took part
This is true.
on my path
They were meant too
Letting me see,
the things I saw

One day....
Soon...
I will be on a path,
helping others
who have not gone on before
I will show the way,
through an open door
Lighting the way too

Be the Salt

Don't carry the dead back home
Leave them better left alone
Time will come to face those fears
Now your debts are in arrears
Grab the living by the hand
Tell them you still have a plan
Even beggarly and small
somehow rise above it all
Be the salt and not the dross
Claim the win and not the loss
Someone needs you to be strong
Fake it, make it right or wrong
"Till you really reach the place
where you learn to turn your face
to the only one who knows
how your inner garden grows.

Tragedy and Turmoil

How many lives do we have to mourn?
How many families are torn?
So many soldiers sacrificed and sworn
Disasters and war claim many in form
Love,Honor,Respect for those who fought
for the right cause
For every test a lesson is taught
Can we pause
Think it through
or do we have have to end with few
Story of life we live to die
but why and so much pain we don't even cry
Tragedy and Turmoil.

Neon (9/11)

When dulled down shock painfully became
a pickaxe ache behind shimmering eyes,
the bludgeoning screen hammered memory cells
repeatedly, over and over.
Tears exploded, soft rain dampened flame,
the grumbling dust cloud debris disguised
broken hearts bursting in agonised swells
searching for life confirmation.

Crashed vultures, evil in senseless flight,
beating humanity for hours like a drum,
cramping the breath with holocaust claws,
gleefully gloating, gloating.
Yet humanity does not die in the night,
by the warped wicked ways of fanatical scum,
humanity fades not, nor crawls on all fours
the prey of abomination.

Could Hitler pulverise humanity dead,
could Stalin annihilate it's very soul,
could Hussein defile it's essence to dust,
could they, hell.
It arises from rubble and ashes instead,
steel resurrection, reassembled whole,
in the love and pride of people it must
elicit restoration.

Beneath the veil of despair-crippled night
a broken city seethed neon 'till morning,
mortal wounds blazed and shone in rebirth,
defiantly living, living.
And hope prevailed in each bulb burning bright,
in each filament, tube, each spark a new dawning
of all that Heaven allows on Earth,
a prayer-shot inspiration.

The carnage of angels bedazzled with pain,
yet the courage and conscience of saints empowered
a neon-lit love of brother for brother,
a blinding, blinding sight.
From sorrow and sacrilege raining again
humanity's wonder, upon them was showered
the love of the brave and the just for each other
that they become the light.

A Prayer for my Wife

                           A Prayer for my Wife

Now I’ll tell you all the details if I can keep from sheddin’ a tear
Last night when it got late and really quiet around here

I got down on my knees, crossed my heart and began to pray
And in the darkness between me and God, here’s what I had to say

I love her so much Lord and I just don’t know what I’d do
I’m afraid that she won’t make it, that’s why I’m coming to you

Here with my heart open, at your mercy down on my knees
I’m begging’ you with every heartbeat, Oh Lord hear my pleas

I don’t know what your plans are or what you have in store
And I know I don’t deserve her and that she deserves much more

And don’t misunderstand Lord, I don’t assume any obligation
For your bounty in our life has exceeded all our expectations

But please allow her to live and me to be a part of that life
And I swear I’ll make this beautiful woman proud to be my wife

And if it’s not in your plans Lord then I pray that you take me instead
Cause’ I can’t live without my love, I’d be better off dead

And no excuses for my past Lord, but I’ll do better than I’ve done
I ask you only this, my lord, in the name of your Son.

I wiped my tears as I said my amen’s and prepared myself to stand
Stepped up next to your bed and began to caress your pretty hand

I stared off into space as all the memories came flooding in
Reliving each and every moment, over and over again

And as the first rays of sunshine, streamed in past the curtain
I felt an overwhelming peace calm my mind and ease the hurtin’

I felt compelled to kiss you so I pressed my lips to your face
And it seemed the room was filled in the beauty of God’s living grace

And you slowly opened your eyes and smiled for me to see
And I knew the Lord my God had given my sweet wife back to me

Grandfather

Here lies the best Grandfather,
One who was very considerate.
Remembering him as a child,
I would sit on his lap.
He was a rare person indeed.
He was a colonel in the Army.
Also superlative of a gentelman.
Here lies the best grandfather,
May he rest in peace.

Tender of Roses

Beloved, lovely roses: gift of God and lover’s flower,
Spread your colored petals and cradle tender showers.
While admiring the blossoms with their beauty to behold,
Ought we not to know the Tender of such lovely garden groves?

For He lovingly and thoughtfully wields His pruning shears
To cut away the stems of old for fuller future years.
He cultivates and feeds them. He attends them as a Father
Looking daily to their needs; so faithfully He waters.

From the dawn of morning dew until the setting sun arrays
Caring always for His own until that great appointed day…
When the Gardener comes to claim each one the earth held as its own.
He gently picks it at its peak and for His pleasure takes it home.

As God did one glorious morning, when the Perfect Rose had bloomed.
He rolled away the stone and met with Mary at the tomb.
There the sweetest Rose of Sharon rose that we die not alone.
But be gathered for a garden grove, surrounding heavens throne.

The Day My Uncle Died

The Day My Uncle Died...

I was thinking about the smile on my uncle’s face….
This was a before he would “leave this place."

I'll never forget the words shortly before he died.
The more I thought about it, the more I cried.

He said, "you know Jimmy I wish I got to know you better."
I never received another phone
 call or even a letter.

A few days later he was ready to go to a funeral.
But it was also him who received a burial.

I was shocked and amazed as to what happened.
The events took place. There was no way
 I could "stop them."

Memories I had were from many years ago.
I often think about him. And I do miss him so!

I suppose many don't take the time to realize...
How quickly life passes...
Then someone dies.

Perhaps there's someone in your
 life you can think of…
There's been a situation that you're
embarrassed to "speak of/"

A harsh word said, and angry thought was spoken.
And soon your relationship has been "broken."

This may be a good time with this person to spend.
Irregardless if they're what you'd call a "friend."

Everyone is important to God who reigns above.
We need to be filled with his mercy and love.

The person you haven't seen shall one day disappear...
The days are short... Our journey's end is so near!

May God speak to our heart and help us to see...
Where will you and I be spending our eternity???
