Graduation Day

For these which stand before you good parents and friends
Are embellished with all your dreams for futures to come
Dressed in alma mater robe, mortar hat and tassel now adorned
You have gathered as witness for this day of a dozen years longed
It is your hearts -with pride- as you watch and listen with both a smile and tear
For that so cherished name upon your lips anticipating
Awaiting the bursting applause with in your hearts
Viewing now the man whom you once held in your arms
As your graduate smiles and takes his just earned reward
Hail to thee- our alma mater- do the graduates stand and sing
Hail to thee – may we always remember the cost of this liberty

Engineering

They said I was chosen, one in a million Part of an elite few, the men among children Chosen to leave everything behind for education, Engineering students, the pride of the nation! Four years of hard work and determination, Came close to failure, arrears, termination; Dreams shattered, spirits broken, total annihilation; New goals, new beginnings, rose up, rejuvenation. Attended classes, learned stuff, ultimately forgot it Placement time we revised, made up stuff, they bought it Now we are placed and getting ready to face the world We overcame; we conquered; we are Engineers!

What they didn't tell her about Fairy tales

They told me from the time I was two
“One day prince charming is coming for you!”

They made me read these inspiring fairy tales
About mermaids, evil step mothers and
servants whose childhoods were unfair,

They told me that even if I was troubled and had to put up with a lot,
That someday my adversaries would have to surrender
to me and scrub my pots,

They told me I wasn’t alone; animals would be my friend
So I tried that, then one night they bit me,
I suffered another tragic end

They said to always be kind-hearted that’s what all man want,
When I got into high school I found out no one wanted to talk to the fat girl in the corner who ate chocolate glazed croissants

They told me to find seven dwarfs, a crew of little people
My school only had four of them
Their names were; scuba, geek freak, muffin top and meatball

In eleventh grade they said, "ask God for a fairy godmother to get a dress for the prom"
I went to a Catholic Church, got one for 75 cents,
with red stripes and one missing arm

They said after graduation the wise thing to do would be to go to college
and Not rush into getting married
So I got knocked up my senior year by the school janitor,
His name is "Prince Larry!"

I dropped out a month before school ended and you’ll never guess where I reside
I am currently employed doing Disney parties, where I get to dress up as all the great characters who told me those fabulous lies.

Got to Love fairy tales…

The Great March

The great march is about to come,
An indication of a job well done.
An event that needs a celebration,
This is for real, not a hallucination.

The great march is about to come,
An indication of a job well done.
After the long four years as slave,
And sleeping at days like nights in grave.

The great march is about to come,
An indication of a job well done.
The end of being slave of dream and aspiration,
Thanks to all who became inspirations.

The great march is about to come,
An indication of a job well done.
This march is not about to die,
Yet it is about to cry.

The great march is about to come,
An indication of a job well done.
Soon to chase success in stampede,
Now a fruitful tree from a simple seed.

Our Little Girl

Your mother and I were only twenty-one
when we learned that your life had just begun.
We barely had time to find love for one another.
What did we know about being father and mother?
We were afraid, but we soon came to know
that you and your love would make our family grow.
From early on in life, you’ve had knowing eyes.
Your Mom says it’s her genes that made you so wise.
Sometimes you’re stubborn, or goofy, or mad.
These are fine qualities that you get from your Dad.
As for drama, let’s just say you’ve “raised the bar.”
But your confidence and drive have taken you far.
We especially admire your compassion for others.
It’s an awesome trait for daughters AND mothers.
2001 was hard on us all.
We’ll never forget that summer or the fall.
Tragedy became triumph and heartache became love.
Avaya is a true blessing sent from Heaven above.
We’re proud of your motherhood. You grew up so fast!
Stay focused on your future and not with the past.
Keep your principles and your strong conviction.
Choose your battles . . . argue fact and not fiction.
Try not to complain or judge your fellow man.
Do good works and help others when you can.
Keep God at the center of your life and your world.
We thank him for giving us our little girl.

Great Graduation Day

Great Graduation Day

Down a long hall we had followed
Which was noble and also hallowed
On Graduation Day did walk down
While we each wore a cap and gown.

Happy tears held back hard we tried
Spoke with eloquence and electrified
With what she said that would amaze
And at very end she gave God praise.

These thoughts with you want to share
Last thing done was throw caps in the air
From the hallowed hall were finally free
We escaped and returned back to society.

Often do look back at Graduation Day
Down successful path won't go astray
Whatever we do and breath we take
Will always be done for the Lord's sake.
