in the community college
looking at Shawn Green's "The Way of Baseball"
I realize that
the baseball season will soon be upon us
Hordes of fans will cheer on the New York teams
Ever a Met fan I have decided to see their farm team - the Cyclones
Brooklyn has a replacement for the Dodgers!
This is a matter of grave import
for Brooklyn - garden spot of the world
and for the U.S.A

Never Give Up
Hang on; The Lord will give you strength in any act of your pursuit
Keep trusting God; He will lead you in every step of the journey
Don’t live by other people’s time tables; live by Gods Time Table.
You may lose paradise, but gain heaven when you rise up and repent
Don’t underestimate your ability to pick yourself up and keep going.
Let go of your disappointments, mistakes and failures
Never give up on your missions and visions.
Never give up praying, The Lord will answer you in His beautiful timing.
The Lord will prepare you for the great success which will comes unexpectedly.
Your dreams are planted deep within your heart by Life itself.
Don't be discouraged by people who tease you out of your dreams
Overcome any struggle with courage, motivation and hope
Your dreams were given to you for a reason by THE CREATOR.
It is easy to give up in life than to keep trying. Always choose the latter
Try again; you have millions of alternatives
Get rid of that negative and defeated attitude.
Always stayed focused on your goals and hang on the wings of hope and success
Be consistent in your efforts, success is not obtained overnight
Push through every difficulty and negativity to achieve the goals
To achieve the impossible, you must attempt the absurd
Never settle for less than what you imagined possible for yourself.
Be determined to be determined
The victory over our inner self is a daily struggle
Resist every negative criticism and persist to make it happen
Go forward and conquer any mountain on your path
Quitters and waiters have a varied beginning, but a similar ending
Just underneath your breaking point lies your true strength
Don’t stop where you fall; rise up and do it again!”
Your downfall is a preparation for your up-rise
Without adversity and trials we may never know what we are capable of.
Mistakes help to sharpen your next steps.
Focus on the precious moments and gracious future.
Never give up, pursue your passion
Successful people never quit –upgrade your mindset and keep focus
Stay strong, stay positive, and never give up.
Only the weak use "I can't" as an excuse to give up

I basically was bred to be wired with significant
Sophistication, control is not an option, it's way beyond
Ordinary as complicated as the human cell and the way
Your brain functions, as pain comes you only wince
When your time comes, when my times come, to
They used to be a day the sea saw, when the breeze called
And you was thankful to be alive, as trees fall,
And the lights come on inside,
Bhattacharya,, I vary with multiple variables
Variety is a gold, and the knowledge gained inside
Is undeniable 3 SECONDS Away and the sea falls
The swells sway and work against themselves
recline as a I make a beeline

Here is an ode
directed at fans
of the New York
They won yesterday
5 -1 and remain at the top of their division
That is great!
Have you not yet checked out
their box scores yet
but I will
No students have
arrived here yet
in the ESL lab
where I sit awaiting them
But I dream of those who
make it into the "show"
My hat's off to them

as a kid
that my mother gave my copy of Frank Waldman's "Bonus Pitcher" to the book fair
I had to buy it back for a quarter
The book told the tale
of how a "bonus baby" won the respect
of those who resented him at first
Also, it told the tale
of the Boston Red sox
defeating the Brooklyn Dodgers in the World series
I have re - read the book during dark times in my life
Baseball defines America
Our national pastime is also enshrined in the movie
"Field of Dreams"
As for myself - I only played catcher in the Little League for a short while and
cried when the Mets lost (as they usually did in their early years)
I have heard stories of NY ballplayers from years ago
and they still
reverberate in my mind
Older now - the best I can do now would be to whack some softballs from a
batting cage machine
Time wears us all down
The baseball diamond still shines green in our mind's eye!
