Pledge of love and loyalty

This pledge that l,Ntando, make today serves
as my guideline that I shall follow
happily, ungrudgingly and tirelessly
for the sake of our love life.
Indeed l am well aware of the fact that
the beauty of this pledge does not only lie
in word alone but in action as well.

For that reason in every season
I shall show steadfast commitment
to the implementation of this pledge
with a great deal of astuteness.
I therefore commit myself to be your
devoted and delivering husband for
all the years l shall live with you
on this earth.

I shall treat you with the love and care
you deserve as my wife.
Indeed l shall treat you with
the distinction and dignity
that is befitting of the queen of my heart.
That body, that bone, that breath
shall be my mine to treasure,
for sure;
a dearness to promote and protect
for dear life…and love!
I shall stand by and with you in all the
situations of our life.
If the situation demands that we sail,
sail we shall together.
If the situation demands that we
climb we shall together.

I know very well what l am getting into:
I am getting into a marriage that is
overflowing with blessings.
This marriage- with our mutual
will stand the test of time.
I know very well what I am getting into:
I am getting into a relationship that
brims over with a transforming power
of love.

This marriage-with our
mutual commitment –
will transform naivety into maturity
troubles into challenges
pretence into practice
pride into progress
bachelorship into companionship.
I pledge to be your steward and partner
for all times.

I shall value the consultations
and decisions that we make as
husband and wife.
As head of the family I shall do nothing

to derail our love train for anything else
least of all for personal and selfish reasons.
Now and forever

I am your lawful and loving husband…
This pledge that l, Nothando, make today serves
as my guideline that I shall follow
happily, ungrudgingly and tirelessly
for the sake of our love life.
Indeed I am well aware of the fact that
the beauty of this pledge does not only
lie in pronouncements but in practice
as well.

For this reason every season
I shall demonstrate untiring love
and loyalty to you;
a love and a loyalty that is a living
embodiment of our marriage vows.
I therefore commit myself to be your
honouring, supportive and loving wife
for all the years l shall live with you.
I shall treat you with the love and care
that you deserve as my husband.
Indeed I shall treat you with
the dignity and nobility that is befitting
of the king of my heart.
On my mind it is always fresh
that I am the flesh of your flesh.
Green or grown

I am the bone of your bone.
I know very well what I am getting into:
I am getting into a relationship that
elevates me into a kingdom of wifehood.
I shall endevour to put my family first
with all the rights, obligations
and privileges that come with wifehood.
I shall endevour to wipe off and ward off
loneliness and lostness from our relationship,
seeking nothing but your companionship;
banking on your stewardship,
sinking together any hardship.
Since you are mine
I shall not do anything else to undermine
our relationship for personal
or egotistical
Now and forever
I am your lawful and loving wife…

Snow sprinkles the ground
as delicate as sugar
crystallizing the exterior with a romantic heritage
only found in the heart of a child's imagination.
Like happiness it can melt in your hands,
and like happiness it can grow bitter like the ice you slip on
Forming miraculously to the curves of the earth
hugging till the land soaks in it's providence
white like the pages I battle with
Falling so passionately you'd think it was falling in love with the ground
And when it lands,
A blanket of perfection
glistening the season to a crisp
gently the sun arises
"there's no where to go today,
I'm just going to sit and enjoy the magic."

My Christmas Thankyou

How do you thank someone for giving you twenty-five years of extra life

Yes twenty-five years extra, Of being a Mother, Nanny and Wife.

How do you thank someone for being there for you
When you were so ill, you didn’t know what to do.

You thank them by, now being the person you want to be
And showing the world on live TV.

You thank them by doing all the things you never got the chance to do before.

When you couldn’t even venture out the door.

You thank them by living your life in the fast lane again
Now you are free of the nightmare, free of the pain.

You thank them by shopping at a packed Sheffield Meadowhall
A couple of weeks before Christmas, you are having a ball
You thank them by going to see your fav’ourite singer Cliff
You sit there with 12,000 people just to do this.

You thank them by running a helpline for others

meeting fantastic people along the way
You thank them by living your life day by day
You thank them by just being you,

You thank them in everything that you do.

young American days

To be in a young America ~
visions of a ship upcoming statue of Liberty
the young lad holding tightly to his Mothers leg
in all excitement of a new Land to call their own
celebrations of apple pie and fireworks on the 4th of July
thoughts of the old Hollywood on screen
films without 3-D costing less then a dollar
Greta , Monroe , Betty Davis eyes tantalizing blue glare
The Wizard of Oz or books written by Steinbach, Capote, Mark Twain

exciting new visions of creating new concepts
before Capitalism bought all little ones to bigger
songs came from the hills of Virginia to the black Mountains
surfacing in Tennessee for all to hear and wish to see

The day when one travelled by car on the road travelled
every town a story told , learning history we once shed blood
American Indian tears to the British man whom choose freedom of taxes
Boston held a tea party , now wishing they threw out marmite instead
The day when we knew our neighbors and bought homes with a paystub
Everyone had a chance to make their own with pride , even through wars
When Martin Luther King stood proudly as did President Lincoln for Freedom
How many streets have been named after the man whom had a dream ?

When milk was delivered on doorsteps in Glass bottles
Babies wanting the very first of the top being cream
leaving doors open , watching news with your family at 6pm
cartoons were shut down and it was now grown up time

Cereal being a cheap snack for after school
                         school supplies costing twenty dollars
Grandma school clothes shopping for fifty
before the internet , cell phones , and text for hello ~

2 week Vacations not afraid to put up Camp
Christmas sold in December with the sentiment of Love not money
a day when if one were sick , you could actually get penicillin without question
The Doctor treated everything calling it General Practice no fear of Malpractice

               Never forgetting our Motor city
Old Ford Trucks Chevrolets and Dodge
The city that brought Ottis Reding and Marvin Gaye

What happened to us ? Where did America Go ?

Just a day
“Good Night Mom and Dad” I said before I went to bed. “We love you” they said as they closed the door
Mom comes in and wakes me up “Time to go to school” as my feet hit the floor
I got dressed and ate breakfast and got my book bag and now we are on the go
We sit in the car listening to music “It’s Friday I think I’m a little excited tho
“Alright baby we here” as mom open the door to let me get out
She closed the door and kissed me on the head told me she loved me before she pulled off
Another day of school and it close to Christmas
I can’t wait to see Ashley and Alexus, today is show and tell as I said in a whisper
We had learning center day and Boy! Was it fun!
Today was a free day and on Friday there isn’t much to learn
The room was quite when the was a knock at the door, the door opened
A man with a big gun was standing there; my classmates panicked and started to run
I heard a lot of noises and a lot of screams
I felt a sharp pain in my back as I dropped to my knees
In the distant I heard more screams and then everything went silent
Then I closed my eyes it went dark and on the cold floor I was dying
The other side
It’s Thursday night and off to bed we go
I kiss my 5 year old son Jaden and told him I loved him so
Alarm clock goes off and it’s around 6:15 in the morning
I shower got dress and woke up Jaden my little darling
Its Friday, I fixed him breakfast and we headed out for the this last day until the weekend
I enjoyed our little drives to school as we sat in the car singing
I opened the door to let him out once more
Kissed him on the head and told him I loved him ill pick him up around four
I’m at work drinking coffee just talked to my husband on the phone
Got at my desk started to work and the my office phone rung
It’s about 9:30 and it was Jaden’s school
I got the news he was dead and I started to puke
I’m crying uncontrollably don’t know my next move
My son is dead, I can’t believe this news
I hurried to the school in the best of my ability
I saw the school surrounded by medics, reporters, and police
I ran to a officer and demanded to see my son
He said “I’m sorry ma’am” I can’t do this at this time
At 9:32 my one and only son Jaden was pronounced dead
The shooter was 20 and took my son’s life in his own hands
The questions continue to flow through my head as I search for answers
I don’t need answers I need my son and his laughter
I am now sitting on his bed trying to swallow tears
My husband holds me close as reality nears
My little boy is gone among the other 19 kids
Heaven has 20 new angels now I hope he knew how much I love him as much as I did

Until I'm Consumed

Let the words I speak
Be unto you
Let the one I seek
Be only you
And let my heart beat
Beat for you
And let my soul
Burn for you
Til I'm consumed
Until I'm consumed
Won't you take all of me
Until your image in me
is all you see
But You won't take what I won't give
And my sin won't die until You live
Inside of me
I feel I'm hangin by a thread
This old man just isn't dead
I keep reviving him instead of trusting You
So Let the words I speak
Be unto you
Let the one I seek
Be only you
And let my heart beat
Beat for you
And let my soul
Burn for you
Til I'm consumed
Until I'm consumed
And when my day comes
To an end
And I look back at where I have been
Many roads I've traveled
Sure took a wrong turn now and then
I need You just as much right now, as I did back then
So Let the words I speak
Be unto you
Let the one I seek
Be only you
And let my heart beat
Beat for you
And let my soul
Burn for you
Til I'm consumed
Until I'm consumed
Let there never be a doubt
That You changed me from the inside out
It was only You all along
I could never be that strong
On my own
Let the words I speak
Be unto you
Let the one I seek
Be only you
And let my heart beat
Beat for you
And let my soul
Burn for you
Til I'm consumed
Until I'm consumed
Until everything in me
Looks just like You

Christmas Night

		Christmas Night

Out in the cold, chained to a tree,
The old dog watched as the sad little girl approached.
Meeting, loving, the poor things cuddled close,
Sharing their animal heat on that cold Christmas night.

A passing stranger and his wife halted in their journey home,
Taken by the sight of the ugly old dog leaning trustfully,
As the small barefoot girl slowly, carefully freed it from its chain.
"You're my Christmas baby now," they heard her whisper.

The man said, "Surely the dog must be abandoned," and
The wife said, "That child has been thrown away, too."
Both asked in unison, "What can we do?" In unison they replied,
"Let's take them home and adopt them both."

Life on a hitchhike

Life on a hitchhike

A cool drool drip slid to the corner of a slit shut
mouth. Eyes that once FLASHED reared back and humbled
into occular armpits, no explanation. Hands that once
felt warmth and high hopes slowly tremmored twitching
careless as unmatter of fact. I watch the
flesh depart, skin crawling with old breakfast
sausage patty indifference. Postage due----Royal flesh
does not win. Careful. External refuse
hidden bonds confide in mass abuse of internal
bliss like factory worker, paydayholiday Friday. Say
goodbye like used coffee grounds At last gasp I
set sockets against a blank ceiling scanning with
eyes aglee and a wave in omnidirectional fervor.
Too finite? Numb and neutral with nothing at stake
I praise a restless content over a form boring of
less than glib compose and promote a position of
erectile tissue and ooooze about time , space
swaying to and fro for this invisible temptation

For You And Me

It was for you and me ,
That Jesus left His throne,
Bore the scourge and agony,
Shivered His flesh and bone,

It was for you and me,
He took the awry tour,
Towards the dreaded Calvary,
Summed His tortured hours,

It was for you and me,
That Jesus bore the cross,
Paid the greatest penalty,
That death supposed be ours,

It was for you and me,
He wailed the gloomiest cry,
It was for you and me,
Jesus was nailed to die,

Oh, that you and I may see,
Our wickedness beyond measure,
Jesus to set us free,
In our stead bore the torture,

His love mysterious great,
Knocks the door of all men's heart,
His mighty power recreates,
Renews our lives whole to restart,

It was for you and me,
When on the third day death sufficed,
The savior left His grave,
Victorious he arised,

He rose back to His throne,
Sitting by His Father's side,
Prepare! He's coming soon,
Today is to decide,

Christmas is a day of freedom

Jesus brought freedom for us
We live in love we live in bless

He frees us from every sin
Hate, selfness goes to bin
We meet our old brother
Eat, drink, and laugh together

Love takes breath in the soul
Flowers dancing and sing
We hug all our foes
And doves fly in the ring

Word of fighting is removed
Love, forgiveness every where
We respect to elder and child
We think about them and care

A new life welcomes us
We live in love we live in bless

grease monkey supplicant

the lackluster heart
is a careless companion
his tarnished love is a thin man with hungry eyes
loved only by her mad mad mind
with a clean beauty to her that shines
the sour bread is bitter wine
his own madness stifled his tongue
painting its masterpiece of literary eloquence in utter silence
a neon glitter mona lisa written for the ages
like a grease monkey supplicant for the siege engine that is his heart
the lackluster heart tinkers with his noble endeavour soul
seeking that sweet music perfection you see in all the magazines
hand in hand with the dream come true girl and her saltwater jewels
she is dragging sacks of christmas cheer
decorating the avenue with beautiful things
its that time of year
the lackluster heart is uninspired
but he's handsome and thats all that matters to her

5 haiku from Christmas day

Christmas Day-
lone tire planted in the soil
under a willow.

Awake in the night-
Oh lover
I'll cover you.

Peering out window-
tall Crane stands over thick Hawk
awaiting a meal.

Shaved lamb to skin-
Winter morning leaves red spots
on its back legs.

A field of motionless
Windmills- Sun sets
gently to their backs.

What If Christmas Never Came

UNSUPPORTED CODE What If… Christmas Never Came???

What if Christmas never happened?
What if Christmas never came?
Things around here would be different!
It wouldn’t be the same!

What if the baby Jesus was never born in a manger?
Mankind would be in serious trouble. We’d all be in danger!

If the baby Jesus wasn’t born. There would be no nativity.
We wouldn’t be able to display this during our “festivity.”

It’s almost like this now!
 It’s an “ever increasing business.”
It seems like nearly everyone wants
  “Christ out of Christmas!”

Why does it seem like Christmas is
 losing it’s true meaning?
The very words; “Merry Christmas,”
seem to be quickly disappearing!

Many say; “Happy Holiday.”
They worry they may “offend.”
Having a “holiday” without Christ….
Once again!

We need to put Jesus Christ back into
our CHRISTmas season!
He is what Christmas is about! HE is the very reason!

May we all take some time to rejoice in our savior’s birth.
May there be shouts of JOY! From the corners of the earth!

Let’s not take Christ out of our joyous celebration!
We need him so much right now!
 All over this great nation!

May we bring to him a heart of love
 for everything he’s done.
As we bring honor to Christ. God’s precious son!

May we continually offer to him a heart filled with praise!
Not only at Christmas time… But all of our days!

Cry of a Warrior

Cry of a Warrior The beast stood on the outside Angry he could not get inside Sent to relieve her of her destiny For rescuing souls from his revelry Her body was frail and weak Upon her bones he did seek Lord I am too weak to fight However, in you I put my light Arch Angels entered the room Sent to protect by the groom One went to fight the beast The other raised her up to feast Letting go and letting God Freed the bonds sending His rod One mighty thrust of his light Dismembered the beast into the night This is the presage sent to demand Release my children! Is my command Leave their souls whole and untainted This night in my blood, you are painted As it is written So shall it be! Carole Cookie Arnold

A Camo Christmas

A Camo Christmas

I made a Christmas tree today,
a little work of art
not like the trees we have at home
but it's dear to my heart.

The decorations are a bit different,
not the kind we buy each year
I try the best I can
to keep the Christmas cheer.

Letters, cards and pictures,
they cover a makeshift tree
I cut out a paper star
I wish that you could see.

When I lay down for bed,
I wish for a silent night
but I hear the mortar rounds
taking off in flight.

When it's my turn to gaurd,
and others take a rest
I think about those at home
and how I feel so blessed.

This time of year is lonley,
my heart a little blue
but I am doing what's asked of me
and to my Country I am true.

So, I'll dust off my boots,
getting up to fight eachday
to protect our rights to celebrate
every Christmas holdiday.

Just know that I'm thinking of you,
even though I'm over here
I helping my brothers and sister in arms
spreading Camo Christmas Cheer.

A Visit From a Social Worker

His hand reached out to mine, open,
Holding it, I smiled, our eyes danced with understanding,
Form and blush outlined his expectations,
But I could see that there may be fear inside.

Mary restated their predicament,
That the child was born out with the marriage bond,
And that people were swaying to the opposite side,
And course dialogue, laughter and spitting were norm.

So I asked the two for their thoughts and predictions,
About the child, if he perhaps could be like, special?
And they specified that he would cure, heal and exorcise,
And also promised that they’d talk to him about the poor.

Could this baby be the messiah?
I pondered and hoped in their certainty;
Was this the predicted son of god?

He would be free from aggressive victimisation,
If we could just name him as god's son.

So I suggested to his parents,
That if the wise men came with a quest,
To accept the name Jesus Christ,
And certify the census, no less.

Freedom for some is in lying,
When there’s no possible alternatives,
But I believe Joseph never lied,
In the population census of Bethlehem,
That just so happened to pass by.

The baby hadn’t been named,
Only the parents last name was changed,
Made credible for interaction,
For currency and ware to be exchanged.

The child would have been suppressed by all,
Assumed to be dirty and unclean,
Not for chat or dialogue,
And certainly not for work in a trade of his call,
Or for work in any trade for that matter.

Nothing would ever have been done,
The poor would never have been healed,
Or not so quickly for sure in history;
The government would not have been rifled,
And Christ would not have come.

Treating the poor for health problems,
Would have come through government legislation,
A long time after Christ,
In an austere, aloof manner.

People to people relationships,
Would not have been respected,
If care had been awarded top-down,
By bureaucrats and officials:
As supervisors of the protected.

Society at that time was narrow minded,
Stuck in traditional religion;
There were outcasts, sinners, infectious people,
And assumptions were remedial and red:
There were no special people,
No exceptions to the rule,
Only one place for the messiah confided.

One baby matters to me,
A life should be saved at any cost and risk,
Because the abilities you show when young,
Shouldn’t be muffled or labeled regressive,
But nurtured in acceptance and love.

  "Hello, mom I'm on Mars,"
  "Wishing you a merry Xmas."

This is the future and no farce,
Trust me folks it's not a fuss.

  Smart letters replace greeting cards,
  People travel in space cars.

  With Santaclause and noble Lords,
Daily from Earth to Venus and Mars.

Youth will paint the towns red,
  Adorning the Xmas tree.

They'll see every street kid fed,
With education, rights and food free.

Love will be in the air in twenty-twenty,
True Xmas will be celebrated by aplenty..!!

Is Christ Still in Christmas

Let's celebrate the Christmas season
In public places, no manger scene allowed
We must not offend is the reason
It is Jesus birthday
Shhhh, don't say it too loud

Happy Holidays, Seasons greetings
Shop till you drop for family and friend
Store executives spend time in meetings
Planning bargains to get you to spend

After all that is what Christmas is about
Parties, goodies, decorations, gifts to receive
Santa Claus and his reindeer will visit no doubt
Oh foolish people whom the world can deceive

Let's celebrate the X-Mas season
Christ is not allowed
We must not offend is the reason
Jesus is not invited to his birthday
Shhhh, don't say His name too loud

If this nation lets Jesus name die
Show others His strength, courage, and love
Onward Christian Soldiers, let's keep His name alive
The Bible shows how, it is inspired from above

Read the Bible, challenge, test it, you will see
God sent His Son, Jesus, to love and free you and me
Invite Jesus into your heart and home
Even in this great, but sinful nation, you will never be alone

Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus baby boy
Decorate your house and tree
To express your faith and joy
Keep Christ in Christmas
He is alive and real and will forever be
