Pledge of love and loyalty

This pledge that l,Ntando, make today serves
as my guideline that I shall follow
happily, ungrudgingly and tirelessly
for the sake of our love life.
Indeed l am well aware of the fact that
the beauty of this pledge does not only lie
in word alone but in action as well.

For that reason in every season
I shall show steadfast commitment
to the implementation of this pledge
with a great deal of astuteness.
I therefore commit myself to be your
devoted and delivering husband for
all the years l shall live with you
on this earth.

I shall treat you with the love and care
you deserve as my wife.
Indeed l shall treat you with
the distinction and dignity
that is befitting of the queen of my heart.
That body, that bone, that breath
shall be my mine to treasure,
for sure;
a dearness to promote and protect
for dear life…and love!
I shall stand by and with you in all the
situations of our life.
If the situation demands that we sail,
sail we shall together.
If the situation demands that we
climb,
climb we shall together.

I know very well what l am getting into:
I am getting into a marriage that is
overflowing with blessings.
This marriage- with our mutual
commitment-
will stand the test of time.
I know very well what I am getting into:
I am getting into a relationship that
brims over with a transforming power
of love.

This marriage-with our
mutual commitment –
will transform naivety into maturity
troubles into challenges
pretence into practice
pride into progress
bachelorship into companionship.
I pledge to be your steward and partner
for all times.

I shall value the consultations
and decisions that we make as
husband and wife.
As head of the family I shall do nothing

to derail our love train for anything else
least of all for personal and selfish reasons.
Now and forever

I am your lawful and loving husband…
This pledge that l, Nothando, make today serves
as my guideline that I shall follow
happily, ungrudgingly and tirelessly
for the sake of our love life.
Indeed I am well aware of the fact that
the beauty of this pledge does not only
lie in pronouncements but in practice
as well.

For this reason every season
I shall demonstrate untiring love
and loyalty to you;
a love and a loyalty that is a living
embodiment of our marriage vows.
I therefore commit myself to be your
honouring, supportive and loving wife
for all the years l shall live with you.
I shall treat you with the love and care
that you deserve as my husband.
Indeed I shall treat you with
the dignity and nobility that is befitting
of the king of my heart.
On my mind it is always fresh
that I am the flesh of your flesh.
Green or grown

I am the bone of your bone.
I know very well what I am getting into:
I am getting into a relationship that
elevates me into a kingdom of wifehood.
I shall endevour to put my family first
with all the rights, obligations
and privileges that come with wifehood.
I shall endevour to wipe off and ward off
loneliness and lostness from our relationship,
seeking nothing but your companionship;
banking on your stewardship,
sinking together any hardship.
Since you are mine
I shall not do anything else to undermine
our relationship for personal
or egotistical
reasons.
Now and forever
I am your lawful and loving wife…

- A Most Irish Fairy Tale -

- A Most Irish Fairy Tale – Merry Christmas to All

It’s not just Santa Claus who we meet in the very cold of December;
There is “Carolina,” and she’s the beauty of a winter picture perfect
With luscious long, coal black curly hair far down on her back, and
As a true fairy princess, Carolina is quite beautiful with such bright
Blue eyes and that certain incandescent glow for all to see and
Dressed in a sparkling white robe made of angelic content with
A glossy coat so radiant and sprinkled with pearls and diamonds.

Out of the woods she walks so quietly in the night’s fresh snow
With a glimpse of two deer and a fox on hunt walking carefully,
Carolina hopes the deer will walk around with an angelic guard;
The secret is that beautiful Carolina speaks the animals’ languages
And this is an enchanted reality known only to the forest animals;
The birds play in all their splendor so fine without sorrow and they
Fly while Carolina—the “Fairy Maiden of this Enchanted Forest,”
Keeps watch carefully on the evening horizon while the snow falls
Now apace in the hope and wish for such a marvelous and majestic
Christmas—while in the distance the ground is now frozen frosted
Hard and like shining and sprinkling silver in the mist until the very
“Rays of Enraptured Sunlight” break in the morning mist—this most
Wondrous image is at once so divine and fabulous to behold and
Cherish as the annual “Spirit of Christmas” now comes alive again.

The Reindeer come alive and begin dancing joyfully together and
Create such a melodic sound almost like bells ringing aloud—
And then all of the Reindeer are here in their resplendent glory:
Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen,
And Rudolph, with his “Red Nose” so beautiful, and oh so bright—
And the sounds the Reindeer make stay in the minds of the little
Children—just like sweet-sounding little voices wonderful so in
Dreams singing such celestial tunes while a bright light appears
So magically on the horizon while planes from all over the world
Begin landing with such precious cargo like loads of neatly written
Letters from good little children—and with this joyous occurrence
Santa Claus begins calling his elfin troops into quick action while
The “Leprechauns” do the heavy work as they are much tougher
But all the while the “Old Fighting Irish” in them reflects a softer
Side while the Leprechauns drink a drop or two or three of some
Fine old fiery Irish dew to keep them both warm and smiling like
The very wee Little Devil in them—so mischievous and all—but
So content and happy to be part of such a delightful moment of both memories and joy for “The Little Children of the World.”
The Leprechauns do all the heavy work

                     Merry Christmas to All!!

Christmas Snow

On wings of swept sky, the dawn’s sun adorns
the shimmering snow in magical light,
from winter’s first snow on snug Christmas morn.

Innocent faces gleam, old are reborn
as fanciful flakes seem to rise in flight
on wings of swept sky, the dawn’s sun adorns.

Powder settles, softening sharpest thorns
as spring’s flowers sleep beneath drifts of white
from winter’s first snow on snug Christmas morn.

Oh, joyous wonder, no past years to mourn!
The hills and trees sparkle like child’s eyes bright,
on wings of swept sky, the dawn’s sun adorns.

Our gifts are unwrapped, the day’s all but worn
and festive flakes frolic well into night
from winter’s first snow on snug Christmas morn.

Through frosty pane, we watched peaceful day born
with glistening nature’s brilliance in sight.
On wings of swept sky, the dawn’s sun adorns
from winter’s first snow on snug Christmas morn.

A Most Irish Fairy Tale - Merry Christmas to All

It is not just Santa Claus who we meet in cold December—
There is “Carolina,” and she’s the beauty of a winter picture perfect
With luscious long coal black curly hair far down on her back
As a true fairy princess, Carolina is quite beautiful with beaming

Blue eyes and that certain incandescent glow for all to see and
Dressed in a sparkling white robe made of polar bear skins
With a glossy coat sprinkled with pearls and diamonds . . . .

Out of the woods she comes so quiet in the night’s fresh snow
With a glimpse of two deer and a fox on hunt walking carefully
Carolina hopes the deer will walk around with angelic guard
The secret is that beautiful Carolina talks the animals’ languages
The birds they play in all its splendor fine without sorrows
They fly while Carolina keeps watch carefully on the horizon

Falling snow now dazzling Christmas in a ball circle most brilliant
While there is a frozen frosted sprinkling silver in the mist shining sun
Oh so!! Wonderful to behold as the Spirit of Christmas comes alive . . . .

The Reindeer come alive and begin dancing joyfully together and
Create such a melodic sound almost like bells ringing aloud
And the all the Reindeer are here in their resplendent glory:
Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen,
And Rudolph, with his red nose so beautiful and oh so bright—
And the sounds the Reindeer make stay in the minds of the little
Children just like sweetly wishing little voices wonderful in dreams
With those singing, tunes a dancing light appears so wondrous
While planes from all over the world begin landing with cargo
And one each day with loads of letters from good little children

And Santa Claus begins calling the elfin troops into action while
The Leprechauns do all the heavy work as they are much tougher
But the old fighting Irish in them showing their softer side all the
While with a drop of the old fiery dew to keep them warm smiling
Like the very wee little Devil in them - mischievous and all . . . .

They do all the heavy work for the elves as they have more of a spring
In their step while almost bouncing on the tip of the their toes like
Little jumping springs so full of boundless wonder and energy and
Then day after day the letters keep arriving and landing at the North Pole
And they begin working like mad and very busily in the North Pole factory

While Santa checks the letters of all boys and girls through a secret window
And when he shakes it he sees through the mist in a glass bubble of the
Christmas treats while hurriedly calling together all of his Reindeer . . . .
The sound of hooves on the snow saddles up the sleigh he is very slim
To start off while all his helpers are loading up and he flicks the reins

And the bells start ringing and - in a flash of magic dust in spirit sings of
The ground waving he bade Mrs. Claus a very fond and loving farewell
And off he goes in a flash of light Ho! Ho! Ho! Ho! echoing in the distance

Each chimney sliding down he eats the food throwing some to the Reindeer
Treats left after the night's over he feels so fat eating so much he heads back
Home to the North Pole while smiling so content at the children’s happiness
And ringing in his ears filled with golden smiles and wishing everyone a very
Merry Christmas he falls asleep after Mrs. Claus makes him a hot chocolate
Really tired but easing his weary bones year after year he loves his job very
Much so and all of the sheer delight that his efforts and those of Mrs. Clau
And his elfin helpers and the joy and fun of the Reindeer bring to all children
On this Earth!!
                     Merry Christmas to All!!

One Winter's Night

I stood on the balcony one night,
The land was bathed in luminous light,
The air was filled with winter's chill,
Frost had covered the window sill.

I stared into the sky above,
My heart had swelled full of love,
The galaxy glowed with bright stars,
Lights so heavenly, from afar.

The night shone bright on every hill,
Yet, everything was quiet and still,
Through the valley no wind did blow,
The little village blanketed in snow.

What joy the Yule is going to bring,
At the break of dawn, the town will sing,
Making this, one eve to remember,
On one magical night of December.

But, in this fantasy land it is late,
And this seasonable panorama is great,
I want to take this long walk alone,
Through unchanging scenery, I wander from home.

I'll take a candle to light my way,
Upon the ice, I could walk until day,
I made it up a deep, glittering bank,
In the glistening snowflakes, my feet sank.

A million diamonds now covered the land,
I pulled my mittens on, over my hands,
The snow could never melt in this cold,
The Northern degrees of stories once told.

I will enjoy the winter as in days of old,
The still photographs of the past unfold,
A thermometer shows the drop of degrees,
The thaw of the snow I hope not to see.

Mirrored is my reflection along the river,
Quartz crystals of ice, makes me shiver,
Icicles hang from a cabin, near the woods,
Silently, wolves and elk in the forest, stood.

Reindeer and rabbits run through the snow,
A memorable sight in the lovely moon's glow,
An owl calls out from high in a tree,
Imagine all this, as a keepsake to see.

Tomorrow the snow will make the children sing,
To the hills, a toboggan they will bring,
Soon, we will hear his sleigh bells ring,
And, all the Christmas bells will be jingling!

- Christmas Light And Joy -

Its Christmas time again
Making hot chocolate - reading Christmas stories

The windows is lit up with fairy lights
The spirit of Christmas is in the air

We light the candles in dark corners
Waiting to hear the Christmas bells

To believe in magic and love is all I want
And thank you Christmas angels

His Beauty Revealed on Christmas Day

As the snow falls around me, I marvel at God’s wholesome and worthy entity. The Lord, on his special day, has given me a gift so precious and special; He has opened my eyes to his wondrous glory. The Lord above all has allowed me to see the beauty in the smallest of things: The stars and moon at night, and the clouds and sun by day; The little trickles of freezing cold, yet clean, fresh, clear water Running down the mountainsides, quenching my insatiable thirst; The trees in all their grandeur, That provide my warmth when I gather their branches; The leaves and pine needles at my feet, Providing soft beds for me and all the forest creatures. Best of all of these, however, is the snow. The beautiful snow in which no two snowflakes are the same. The same biting cold, yet strangely comforting and fulfilling snow, In which brings forth light on the darkest of days. I must thank the all-loving God, who has bestowed upon me this glorious gift. Me, a pathetic excuse for a soldier who has run away From the sight of bloodshed because I cannot stand to fight another friend. Me, a coward who is now running from the law, And living solely in the forest for fear of being caught and hanged. Me, a God-believing man who has sinned greatly. But I have repented. I have asked God for forgiveness of my sins on Christmas Eve night, And He has replied by giving me snow on Christmas morning, showing me that I am not alone, and that I should not be afraid. And, by His grace, when all I have been seeing was darkness and despair, He opened me up to allow me to see the beauty and light in all his creation. “I praise You, oh glorious God, for giving me this most wonderful gift! I thank You for forgiving me, a sinner, of all my wrongdoings, and for giving me this awe-inspiring gift, for which I have done nothing to deserve! I exalt you on high, oh Lord, for all that you have done and given me, and will do for me and give me! I will love and praise you always! Amen.”

Snow

Snow sprinkles the ground

as delicate as sugar

crystallizing the exterior with a romantic heritage

only found in the heart of a child's imagination.

Like happiness it can melt in your hands,

and like happiness it can grow bitter like the ice you slip on

Forming miraculously to the curves of the earth

hugging till the land soaks in it's providence

white like the pages I battle with

Falling so passionately you'd think it was falling in love with the ground

And when it lands,

A blanket of perfection

glistening the season to a crisp

gently the sun arises

"there's no where to go today,

I'm just going to sit and enjoy the magic."

- Silence In Christmas Thoughts -

This is the season when the forest has winter coat on
Where does frost smoke come from
Is it our angels morning yawn
Sunlight comes as little fanfares from the cello tones
Large pine trees decorated for Christmas joy
Gusts send thoughts from forest to sea
Everything slides into each other to a beating heart
  Here's silence among nature sounds
Christmas is approaching .... once from the purest source
The time Jesus lay in the crib

ONCE AGAIN THANK YOU

I was just trying to remember the past
trying to remember the good people
 and the bad people,
that i came across on my way,

i want you to know
that you are among the good people
that left a good trace in my life,

once again i just want to say thank you
for passing through my life,
is so short but is wonderful
i want you here forever.

THE ICE ANGEL

What happens to the angel figure, that we make
In the newly fallen snow, does it simply waste away
Forgotten beneath the October moon?
Oh no my dearest friends for it has been blessed,
By the laughter of innocence children, and graced
With joys utter bliss of happiness.
It's been given a life spark, a gift from the angelic
Spirits on high, illuminated by a polar glow above,
And low behold the birthing of an ice angel..
Under the hushed spell of midnight, amongst the
Diamond dust fields of winter, the fluttering
Of shadow wings can be heard.
Sheer to the light of ebony’s opulence, the blackened
Figure stirs within her shallow grave, to emerge as
A glistening specter of flights ascension.
Thinned glittering gems sprinkled by faiths devotion,
Are these appendages made of snow mists.
Shifting with beauty, she soars to the kingdom of the lord.
Reflected in the sunlight these ice wing chambers do shine,
Capturing the colors of the rainbow, exploding, bursting with
Each appendages flapping, climbing through the vastness of
The heights, does not the warmth of the sun, embrace these
Creatures of ice and snow, and so do they melt with sorrows
Regrets, becoming heavens tear drops of frozen lace.
Fractured shards of crystalline endities, whom almost touch
The face of grace itself, yet none returning unto the earth below,
As sleets crushed dreams of winter, thus this icy cycle of life
Continues ever more.
What happens to the angel figure, that we make
In the newly fallen snow, does it simply waste away
Forgotten beneath the October moon?
Oh no my dearest friends for it has been blessed,
By the laughter of innocence children, and graced
With joys utter bliss of happiness.

THE SNOW BIRD OF PARADISE

Bursting from within the heart of a blizzard shock wave,
Shutters the flexing eye of this white hurricane storm,
Shattering the inner core into a blazing shards torrent,
A miracle of utter mystical enchantment occurs,
In this ancient incantations sacred spell.
It is a crystallized super nova’s raw force, exploding from
The inner guttural roar of nature giving birth, to
The snow bird of paradise.
In its translucent chamber egg of ice, resting in the
Diamond dust covered nest, lined with crystal frozen gems,
Shimmering beneath the chilling Artic sun, as the
Freezing embrace of mother earth, rocks her starling,
Kindred off spring, waiting, are anticipating its hatching.
Ever tenderly the life within stirs, as if a captured moment
Of purities grace, encapsulated in brilliance opulence,
The shells shard melts away, in a hushed display of beauties
Refinement and complete elegance.
Nature itself seems to hold its very breath, as the
Snow bird rises, for the first motions step, in a swaying
Waltz of harmony.
Behold the snow bird strides forth, fanning her plumage
Behind, a white laced peacock is exposed, unfolding its winged
Feathers delicately, one by one, until the colors
Reflect the light rays from the polar sun.
Gleaming in radiance, the fineries majestic appendages
Sparkle with razzle-dazzles adornments, yet the winds brush
At her downy softness, as if caressing the fleece of a new
Born lamb’s wool, ever so gently.
Plumages lace of snowflakes spread wide, in a splendors display
Of glitz and glamour, as the fluffy strains ripple in the night winds
Whispering, come along my beautiful creation, it is time to warm
My soil with springs everlasting promise, once more.

A Single Leaf Out of A Tree

A single leaf,
Falls out of a tree above me.

As it twist and turn,
The wind blows it in my direction.

But why?

It symbolizes all my struggle and all my pain.

It tells me that they twist and turn,
But never remain.

It takes a sudden fall next to me.

But why?

It symbolizes the thought of being alone.

It tells me that someone is always by my side.

As I write,
The leaf flies away.

As if it had a huge success in it's encouragement.

Nature communicates with us in many ways.

Not with words,
But with a single leaf out of a tree.

Choose to be Happy

Choose to be Happy

I am happy because I choose to be; my life is far from perfect.

Others are content but I make conscious choices to be Happy and to be a positive person.

You don’t have to be rich or have a lot of money and material wealth to be happy.

Many wealthy people are poor in Spirit with all the money, fame and things that they have.

This Christmas Eve night as I write this poem I think about how I manage my money focusing on my needs first and then my wants.

I ask myself: Can I afford that? Do I need this? Can I wait for the store price to go down and get that dress on sale?

I hope that once I am financially stable with a decent job I can have a coat drive for kids age 1 through 16 in Trenton, New Jersey when every boy and girl gets a cute new coat and I hope that my story inspires others my battle with mental illness over 19 years…

A WINTER WONDER LAND

A land of ice and snow, a picture perfect postcard,
It is here I walk alone, lost in thought, of glories utter
Amazement surrounding me.
Draped across the pine branches of evergreen, frozen white
Lace glistens, in the December sun.
Raw wilderness lain exposed, on a canvas of bare natural beauty.
Freedom's unexplored world, lies outstretched before me,
In this my wintery wonderland.
Crisp is the wind, blowing against my skin, it sends
An icy chill downwards, but I notice not.
I'm a dreamer set adrift, engulfed by a poets
Yearning, to put words of inspiration, onto an empty page.
Heavy steps, crunch the layers texture beneath, nay
I'll remain still, soaking in this forest portrait.
Before these eyes, I'm unable to grasp everything,
There is to be seen, but ti’s a spiritual moment,
Of reflection, in clarity's vision.
The mountains breath, is a thin chilling mist,
A fine thin halo, placed upon rocky peaks majesty, by the
God's themselves, a majestic crowning of divine design.
Covenanting these exteriors hardened edge,
It gives a taste of harsh flavor, to this natural
Paradise left undiscovered.
The blue hews of the sky, are Chris-crossed by
The northern lights, aurora’s multicolored rainbows,
Dancing in the Alaskan horizon.
An echoing peace lives here, a quite tranquility,
Humanity has forgotten for progress.
It is a magical essence of solitude, that
Speaks to ones inner being, a purity in the
Meaning of existence.
Within my little cabin, I'll rest, beside the fire side,
Warming these aching bones.
But the mind remains alive and alert, sparked by
A higher powers kindling, a flame, ignited with imagination,
In this my wintery wonderland.

My Christmas Dream

My Christmas Dream is for a
More peaceful and calm world
For all of mankind as the clock
Of the twenty-first century ticks
Away before us and all of us seek
To meet the many daily challenges
And travails of life that impact us
And the planet we all live on since
The Earth is our very home for the
Entire human race, animals, insects,
And all of the varieties of sea creatures
And wondrous plant life that grows
And flourishes as part of God’s most
Divine Plan which is certainly worth
Our attention and desire to address
Our shortfalls and shortcomings in
Making sure that the Earth and all of
Mankind are compatible and we can
Meet the destiny and final glory that
God has planned for all of us—Amen

Dear Santa

Santa, I do confess
I feel a little bit strange
A middle aged man sitting on your knee
Whispering into your ear, my grandest wish
Let us both hope people do not get the wrong idea here
I am at my wits end Dear Santa
All I want for Christmas
Is for her to call me
So that I may here her voice
Like a musical saga
A symphony of Celtic dreams
The honey that flows deep into my heart
The sweetness that grows in my soul

Am I demanding too much?
Of this earthly world
That I, demand heavenly wishes
That I dream in colors unreal
That I cry for things that seem the impossible
The North Pole and all its promise
Dream
Oh but I must dream, dream or die

No more dreams
Is death for sure
Let me not be murdered
By a phone that rings not

ps
Dear Santa

I am disappointed, no poetry memberships, no phone calls in the night from lovers
No mistletoe even in me dreams, Gaelic winds blow cold over me heart
Id ask for a train set, but the way things are going you’d give me a train wreck
Bloody hell on you Santa, you must be busy helping nice people, cheers anyways

Unknown

Who am I?
Am I defined by what is near in sight?
Am I defined by what I have done,
Or am I defined by what I could become?

Perhaps I'm of no use.
To him, or her, or I, nor you.
Or perhaps I'm too misunderstood to be defined,
And it is something like understanding that comes in time.

And if to the world I'm never shown,
Yet in my own light I've grown and grown,
And so I can know no happiness but my own--
The reason for my smile, to you, will forever be unknown.

I do not pray for the world to know my name.
For it and verse; the letters are the same.
And if a man should find his sorrow in what he reads,
I pray his pain my words to keep.

Should his eyes rain on my page,
Better tears than storms of rage.
And if a man should find his sorrow in what he reads.
I pray his pain my words to keep.

And if to the world you're never shown,
Yet in your own light you've grown and grown,
And so you know no happiness but your own.
Let the reason for your smile, to you, only be known.

Flakes

Silent fills the air
Darkness chills the night
Every wish I make
Another flake takes flight

Looking through the glass
Painted by Jack Frost
Thinking of the passed
And all the ones I've lost

Here on Christmas eve
Carolers still waltz by
Bringing Christmas cheer
To every one but, I

Then something seems to lure me
Beyond my fastened door
And somehow reassures me
I've done this times before

Now bundled in my coat
Colored lights all aglow
Staring in the sky
While standing in the snow

Feeling something special
Will appear before my eyes
Then fluffy little white specks
Soon drift down from the sky

It's funny how they wander
Reflecting light with flashes
Then melting on the ground
But lay on brows and lashes

It's these kind of, little blessings
That puts a smile on my face
Then melts away the loneliness
And fills me with God's grace

Space-Love

Let's escape to space
& Leave the human race

Space-love a new awesomeness
Forget the life & the gloominess

Kiss me, because I care
Even thought the life is unfair

I want to be a space-lover
Love you now, tomorrow & forever

Lest Live in a house made of stars
& drive spaceship instead of cars

We feel the space-love in moon
I'll be yours, you'll be mine so soon

Galaxy, universe, stars & limitless
Screw the world, we found happiness.

Fairy Tale Christmas Dream

I am
just thinking of you fondly
Hoping I bring a smile warmed inside

It is windy I must admit to you
who bring the sunshine love
Being honest I dream of cuddling up to you

Trying to visualise a feeling
each time I see you
my heart stops as you enter

Breathtaking beautiful lights up
I love holding your hands
I feel they fit with mines perfect

When I look upon your smile
light of One in a thousand angels
holding a breathless moment

Center stage spotlighting
Just In that single second
my love for you is sealed

Kissed By the beauty
of having you sweet Cinderalla
holding the glass slipper in my life

Two Hawks Aloft

Two hawks aloft
crows anxious banding together
Carol Ott comes over to my house, likes the warm weather, November
a California Christmas and maybe species will change places to reflect
      that,
paints watercolor ornaments, gentle Jewish lady
how far from her past is she now? or is she quite aware just not talking
      about it now
I wonder what she thinks the solution to Israel-Palestine might be
ask her sitting around the pool next summer
almost always disappointed people haven't given the single state solution
      more thought
we discuss Thanksgiving, the cleaning and cooking before and the
cleaning after, then the insane Christmas potlatch
deciduous trees have a special winter beauty, conifers among them.

celsius

Fallen snow will remind of me/ it is snowing ...
Slowly as in the dream/
Boy word-beads/ with signs on his spine/
He kisses fine/
Your eyelids /

And it snows ... It snows /so slow/
It does/ and you're thinking of me/
'Coz it's warm/ it's better to stay in warmth/
Waiting for summer dim/
It is snowing/ slowly like in the dream/
Flakes/ go round/ playing the music theme/
You've been looking for rescue/
You searched in wine/
But it's in me/
all the rescues are mine/
It is snowing/ the snow is fluffy and white/
If you see darkness/ I'm deaf and blind/
there's the cast of time/ on the arm/
But I discern the light/
Dreams/ upon your eyelids tips/
Prepare you for winter drowse/
And it snows/

Fallen snow/ will remind of spring /
it will crumble and crackle in vain/
It will snow / fluffy /white/ and slow/
And you'll become whole/

Christmas Beauty

All is beautiful on this Christmas Eve night in my neighborhood
Bright colored lights are flickering on many a lovely home
Charming and enchanting- it seems a fairyland to me
Delicate, fragile snowflakes are falling as I hesitate here and there
Engrossed in the beauty, the snow caresses my hair from above
Feeling a glow growing within me, I ponder the meaning of Christmas
Good thoughts are flowing within and I imagine a baby born, a saviour
Heavenly visions of sweet Jesus in a stable lit by a guiding star
Inner peace, I embrace as I walk the quiet snowy streets
Joy and happiness beyond the doors of these dwellings I pass by, and
Kindness abounds at this time of year, I wish that could last all year
Love is what I remember at Christmastime . . .
Magically, the memories come drifting and I find myself weeping
Nirvana is where my family dwells, waiting for me to come one day
Open-hearted, I share my sorrow, it drips from my pen
Peaceful, oh so peaceful is my wintery world this December night
Quietness so deep, I can hear the snow falling on the bare tree branches
Respect, I have for nature that can change from beautiful to dangerous
Serene lovely scenes quickly become places forbidden
Tranquil snow has turned into a blizzard with wild wind
Utterly amazed I stand in the storm swirling wondering which way to go
Vibrant the lights that still glow on the snow draped dwellings
Wonderful they seem to be guiding my way home
Xerox copies of Christmas songs twirl past and I try to grasp them
Yes, there is my home, all lit up and welcoming me back
Zestfully I run up the path to my door, thankful for the fireplace within

Shara's Christmas Journey

Lust of the flesh is sin.
Sin is lust of the flesh.
Try repeating this one once.
What word was miss-pronounced?
Hearing is believing.
With fellowship and greeting.
Duffing our sacred billow caps.
To gifts of public speaking.
Thin ones borrow.
Plump ones lend.
Relieved, believed, we sing along in upright sincerity.
Our covetousness protects our purity.
Let the bongo and snare drums play.
Till bandaged skins wear all away.
Don't nod the other way.
There is no other way.
No need to even quiz-it.
As I plot out my exit.
An out.
Knowing to pretend.
Thin ones borrow.
Plump ones lend.
Relieved, believed, we sing along in upright sincerity.
Our covetousness protects our purity.
Outside Shara parks.
Eagerly I mount her.
Oh, How I still love her.
Her long-sleeved pointed ears.
On four legs she steers.
A steady course, slightly up hill.
Away from the Sunday fast-lane.
I so much disdain. Such pagans.
Away some distance, her peg hoofs clear.
Where no-ones ears can hear.
My boisterous thoughts giggle.
Off Shara's back I wiggle.
"I'll partake your cookies."
" If you embrace my poem."
"How I disdain begging."
Thin ones borrow.
Plump ones lend.
Relieved, believed, we sing along in upright sincerity.
Our Covetousness protects our purity.
I re-mount Shara, looking back.
My eyes see cautious female flirts.
All dressed up in pilgrim skirts.
Watch them nod, Godly men,
Way, way up the tall steeple.
To mount our lightning-rods.
Thin ones borrow.
Plump ones lend.
Relieved, believed, we sing along in upright sincerity.
Our covetousness protects our purity.
A couple A' blocks A' yonder.
My eyes see a ghastly host.
Unshaven Greeks N' Romans,
Unwilling to yield their posts.
"Howdy", I babble.
" Would you like a poem, or almanac, or Bible?"
"To embrace".
" Not really," They stubbornly reply.
"If we encounter ill will."
"We'll visit Dr. Phil."
"His pill helps us feel better."
As they march unforgiven letters.
To grave sites.
Where they'll recite.
To dead folks.
That didn't treat them right.
" I see," I gently mutter.
Why renounce their sorry fate?
By now it seems too late.
Before I get away tho.
They bark back.
With tongues N' cheeks.
" Hand over your donkey"
" Else we'll call you a honky."
"We will."
I capitulate the leash.
No will.
Before I walk a step.
My eyes see,
Thru my yellow blind fold blanket,
Covering my snow white pirates patch.
The real world.
A world on no conscience.
Our conscience being.
Of Jesus : Our loving savior.
Or Satan : The claw plucking-up vulture.

SILENT NIGHT - for contest

Silent Night

A silence enveloped all
slowing the pace
of everything.

Yellow glow of city lights
shadows - following
meandering mice,

whispered hymns
roosting in the blue
ice crusted branches,

moon dancing silhouettes
pirouetting atop
drifted snow,

cool breath exhaled
upon restless
reverie,

peace
kissing the earth
in silence.

grease monkey supplicant

the lackluster heart
is a careless companion
his tarnished love is a thin man with hungry eyes
loved only by her mad mad mind
with a clean beauty to her that shines
the sour bread is bitter wine
his own madness stifled his tongue
painting its masterpiece of literary eloquence in utter silence
a neon glitter mona lisa written for the ages
like a grease monkey supplicant for the siege engine that is his heart
the lackluster heart tinkers with his noble endeavour soul
seeking that sweet music perfection you see in all the magazines
hand in hand with the dream come true girl and her saltwater jewels
she is dragging sacks of christmas cheer
decorating the avenue with beautiful things
its that time of year
the lackluster heart is uninspired
but he's handsome and thats all that matters to her
