Jesus Christ Is Coming Back Down

To the tune of "Santa Clause Is Coming To Town"

You better look up,
prepare for His sight.
The Lord will come back
some day or some night.
Jesus Christ Is Coming Back Down.

He's making a list.
He's paid the great price.
Who's going in route
to His paradise?
Jesus Christ Is Coming Back Down.

He sees you when you're breathing.
He knows you need His grace.
He knows that we have all been bad,
but He died to take our place.

With bright Seraphim and bright Cherubim,
Trumpy trumpets, and drummy drum drums,
Jesus Christ Is Coming Back Down.

He sees you when you're weeping.
He offers His embrace.
He knows you like nobody else,
yet He loves you anyway.

You better not doubt.
You wanna know why?
Your life could end soon.
There's no second try.

O Holy Night

O holy night when Christ was born,
And in a manger laid;
What love decreed that God should be
The child of a maid?
O holy night the inn was full,
A stable near at hand;
O night of prophecies fulfilled
When Caesar taxed the land.

O holy night the shepherds watched
Their flocks upon the field,
And, lo, the angel of the Lord
With glory was revealed.
"Fear not, behold, I bring to you
Good tidings full of joy;
For unto you is born this day
A Saviour as a boy."

Then suddenly the sky was lit
By angels filled with mirth,
Proclaiming glory unto God
And peace to all the earth.
The shepherds said among themselves,
"To Bethlehem we'll go;
For something great is come to pass
And this we wish to know."

They came and found the newborn babe
With Joseph and his bride;
When they had seen, this news they spread
Throughout the countryside,
And all that heard did wonder great
At things the shepherds told;
But Mary pondered all these things
Within her heart of gold.

O holy night when God was praised,
O night when hope returned;
O night when angels spake aloud
And skies with glory burned:
O holy night when Christ was born,
And in a manger laid;
What love decreed that God should be
The child of a maid?

Snow

Snow sprinkles the ground

as delicate as sugar

crystallizing the exterior with a romantic heritage

only found in the heart of a child's imagination.

Like happiness it can melt in your hands,

and like happiness it can grow bitter like the ice you slip on

Forming miraculously to the curves of the earth

hugging till the land soaks in it's providence

white like the pages I battle with

Falling so passionately you'd think it was falling in love with the ground

And when it lands,

A blanket of perfection

glistening the season to a crisp

gently the sun arises

"there's no where to go today,

I'm just going to sit and enjoy the magic."

Christmas Magic

(A Christmas Collage)

The sun has set and night is stealing
Softly o'er the silent land,
While snowflakes slowly down are falling,
Shaken from an unseen hand.

To the top of Thorburne Tower
Light from windows streams around;
The glow of twenty thousand tapers
Sparkles on the snowy ground.

High arching o'er the graceful altar,
Wintergreen and laurel sway;
And all about the pews of alder
People kneel and humbly pray.

The rosy cheeks and smiling faces,
Rising at the last amen,
Return to rhythmic rows of places
Raising songs of praise again.

Oh hear those olden carols going
O'er the tower to the skies;
Noel and joyful tidings flowing
From warm hearts and gleaming eyes.

So far above the frosty forest,
Father God and Jesus see
The flick'ring flame of faith fulfilling
What on earth was meant to be.

There below the boundless heavens
Beams the Spirit's blessing full;
Bestowing peace and tidings holy,
Bearing love that makes us whole.

Th' enchanting ev'ning passing onward,
Ev'ry street once empty filled;
Then all-enfolding light descending,
Endless eager voices stilled.

To those who trolled triunal praises,
Angels lit the topaz night;
Attuning to the trilling trumpets,
Sounding in triumphal might.

The harps and high harmonic voices
Hold a hope no man could give,
Enmeshing in enchanting fashion,
Showing how archangels live.

E'en later yet they light their lanterns,
Laugh around the firelight's heat;
The children look around and listen,
Laps all full of things to eat.

Even now the endless snowflakes
Eloquently, gently fall;
Adding to the festive feeling
Held alike by great and small.

The youngsters holding hands are happy,
Dancing 'neath the holly wreath,
While horses hauling sleighs and cutters
Jingle homeward on the heath.

The embers glow in evenings echo,
Shedding reddish light afar;
Expectant eyes reflect its sparkle,
Shining like the morning star.

They sing of Mary, blessed mother,
Meek and willing, pure and mild;
They magnify the great Messiah
Born as Mary's holy child.

[Look for the acrostic in the alliteration. There is one letter for each verse.]

ONCE AGAIN THANK YOU

I was just trying to remember the past
 trying to remember the good people
 and the bad people,
 that i came across on my way,

i want you to know
that you are among the good people
 that left a good trace in my life,

once again i just want to say thank you
for passing through my life,
is so short but is wonderful
i want you here forever.

Unknown

Who am I?
Am I defined by what is near in sight?
Am I defined by what I have done,
Or am I defined by what I could become?

Perhaps I'm of no use.
To him, or her, or I, nor you.
Or perhaps I'm too misunderstood to be defined,
And it is something like understanding that comes in time.

And if to the world I'm never shown,
Yet in my own light I've grown and grown,
And so I can know no happiness but my own--
The reason for my smile, to you, will forever be unknown.

I do not pray for the world to know my name.
For it and verse; the letters are the same.
And if a man should find his sorrow in what he reads,
I pray his pain my words to keep.

Should his eyes rain on my page,
Better tears than storms of rage.
And if a man should find his sorrow in what he reads.
I pray his pain my words to keep.

And if to the world you're never shown,
Yet in your own light you've grown and grown,
And so you know no happiness but your own.
Let the reason for your smile, to you, only be known.

A Single Leaf Out of A Tree

A single leaf,
Falls out of a tree above me,
 As it twist and turn,
The wind blows it in my direction,
It symbolizes the ending point of my
struggles and all my pain,
It tells me that they twist and turn,
But never remain,
It takes a sudden fall next to me,
But why?
It symbolizes the thought of being
alone,
It tells me that someone is always
by my side,
As I write,
The leaf flies away,
As if it had a huge success in
incouragement,
Nature communicates with us in
many ways,
Not with words,
But with a single leaf out of a tree.

An Angel of Christmas Past

The eve of Christmas a day I won’t soon forget It was the day we celebrated yes I do remember The family came together for you with no regret Recalling a child, spying around, found a train set I would start to feel the excitement in November The eve of Christmas a day I won’t soon forget Someone hurries to buy a last gift in a Corvette Another sad to celebrate, a gift they can’t render The family came together for you with no regret The rest of the holiday, I’ll change my mindset Going to show some real spirit, not be a pretender The eve of Christmas a day I won’t soon forget If there is anyone, it’s to you that I am in debt Lil sweet lady, no you were powerful yet slender The family came together for you with no regret So far from that magical time I’m a dark silhouette But my cold hard heart starts to melt in December The eve of Christmas a day I won’t soon forget You taught me about Holiday spirit, with no regret
Written by me Wayland Bunch II on 12/10/2013 for Happy Holidays contest in memory of my grandmother. I changed the last line, felt forced to change it, but will still categorize this poem as a Villanelle. I could have easily repeated the closing line again, or could have called it free verse, but neither would have done justice to the message or the form, because I used the power of the repetition, provided by the form, throughout.

Space-Love

Let's escape to space
& Leave the human race

Space-love a new awesomeness
Forget the life & the gloominess

Kiss me, because I care
Even thought the life is unfair

I want to be a space-lover
Love you now, tomorrow & forever

Lest Live in a house made of stars
& drive spaceship instead of cars

We feel the space-love in moon
I'll be yours, you'll be mine so soon

Galaxy, universe, stars & limitless
Screw the world, we found happiness.
