Disturbed Child

That disturbed child
The teen girl with no friends,
and is rejected by her loved ones
She feels broken inside,
like theres no other choice
She takes the iron razor,
she puts it to her arm and hopes the pain will fade,
but in the end it only makes her feel worse
She does this to herself not because she is sad,
but because she doesn't think any one cares
She thinks
What if I put this razor to my throat,
and ended my life
Would they care then?
She feels like no one cares
What she doesn't realize is,
if she died a river of tears would come,
even faster then the blood would run from her
If she only knew life can be brighter
If she would only see,
that she is loved
That disturbed child,
We miss her
and theres no getting her back
What could we have done
Was there any changing her mind
Only God knows

A House On the Cliff's Edge

There is a house on the cliff’s edge,
Around a quiet, unmarked shoreline
At night, the tide lifts high against a foggy moon
In the morning, gloomy clouds settle with the sea
At times, not even the birds are seen or heard
The house is left to nature’s caress

Home-crafted seashell chimes sway and sing with the wind
Crushed sand dollars lie together on the back porch
The shells were once whole, collected by the former owners
Long gone are they now, smiling with the moon
The owners are the very sound of the ocean spray,
Striking the rocks, announcing the cool dawn of day
They are not the dark, empty rooms,
The rooms that nobody thinks of as they go about their lives
The quiet owners are long gone—thought of only by one
A stillborn legacy about as tiresome as the sun,
When the clouds crisp out its beams . . .

A seawater puddle is in the middle of the dining room
Nobody knows it sits there, sinking in the floorboards
It used to be a far larger puddle after a storm,
Stealthily leaking into the house
But now it is small—so small—and the boards are moist,
Moist with its only companion amongst the instilled silence

Nobody thinks of empty, abandoned rooms
Nobody remembers the former owners
They were not much for socials and gatherings
They always lived their quiet, happy lives
Without a care of the outside world,
Far from anybody’s thought
Miles from the nearest home
Where the next generation comfortably lives

He never finished fixing that leak . . .

Sometimes the puddle gets bigger after other storms
And when it does, there is almost life there again
You can see the chandelier reflected on the unperturbed water
As a crystal dangles and falls from on high
The dark silence following the drop is as deep as thought . . .

Nobody thinks of empty, abandoned rooms
Nobody remembers the former owners
There is merely a house on the cliff’s edge
Around a quiet, unmarked shoreline

Across the Way - The Sequel

Another day and the dishes have piled up yet again
So back I end up in front of the window
I do not glance up, but concentrate
On the dull, dirtied objects before me
I do not hear the voices from yesterday
I still wallow in the grime of gray
I smile in malcontent
As I lather the dishes with soap
Against my will, I look up
To see a lone, fat man opening a refrigerator
He is shirtless, bulgy, and he looks pregnant
My first supposition is to laugh
But I only look back down at the dishes
Not wanting to stare at the fat man
Not wanting to think he looks pregnant
For sure not wanting him to be my neighbor
Across the way

Against my will again, I look up
The fat, pregnant man is gone
I see ornaments on the refrigerator
Some pictures, some magnets
Family; not so different from my life
But yet, there is a transparent fancy of mystery
A flashy rage of difference in the silence
Oh, so quiet
The blazing sun sprays its light upon the hour
Not only are my hands wet from the soapy water
The deafening tone of quietude
Revels in me a mixture of loneliness and physical heat
A burning desire for something not seen
A desire for utter disgust of my newly found neighbors
But I find myself not disgusted at all
Until I look up again and see a fully naked man at the window
Across the way

Lonely Road

I walk a lonely road with trouble on my mind,
Searching for something that isent really all that easy to find.
But the more i look the harder it is, to find that special place,
Its just around the cornor, but it disapears without a trace.

I ask for help from a passer by,but all i get is a stare,
Do i know you they reply? Why should they even care?
Im not asking for your life, nor your money do i need,
A true friend would be nice,to help me set the seed.

Friendships seeds i have set, many years to the day,
Wind ,rain and hardships have wash them all away.
Now the road is long and lonely, and no one seems to care,
They pass you by on the street ,as if your not there.

I look up to the heavens ,and often wonder why,
I am left here on this earth ,lonely and want to die.
I pray to God to end this journey ,to take it all away,
This lonely road is killing me, thats all i have to say.

The Dragon

The Dragon.

In the mountains near the land of Nord
Their lived a fiery Dragon
He had such hot and fearsome breath
Yet he kept his tail a dragging
Because he knew he wasn't bad
He was shy and that was all
And if he looked too meek and mild
Then folk would treat him cruel.

He met this little lad from Kelt
One day whilst coasting round
With fire belching from his face
And roaring fearsome sounds
The little lad was terrified
When he saw this thunder brute
And the dragon he was hurt indeed
As this fear he did intuit.

He said "I'm sorry little boy
But I'd not do you harm
I rasp and roar like this you know
So folk will leave me calm
I really want to be your friend
It's so lonely being me
Then the two they walked off arm in arm
It was beautiful to see.

To Sit All Alone

I sit so alone in the chill of the night
I feel in my heart a hand takes a hold
How is it so that I feel this great fright
This fear isn't young, this fear is quite old
All of the dreams crying at midnight, told
Oh how I'm sad, so alone in this dark
Let the flame in my heart, yield and ignite
To begin my journey, too timid to embark.

To walk each step, to blur out of sight
To hold to the words that I said all so bold
To bow in my heart, my soul is contrite
How easy it was, my ambitions I sold
I sat there lonely, not to be controlled
Oh how I'm sad, so alone in this dark
I can not control this, this horrible fright
I must not allow myself not to embark.

I rejected your counsel, your words of insight
With my arms crossed, eyes I but rolled
How can I grasp the essence of light
When paranoid actions tend to enfold
The uncertain man with a touch all too cold
I must not be sad, so alone in the dark
For I can control this, this horrible fright
I will take these few steps, now I'll embark

I say this hopefully for my fear has been told
I hope more who sit, so alone in the dark
Will open their eyes and look not so cold
Will stand up and, dare to embark

Success

Success

The other day I saw a man
He was an old, old man
He had this sparkle on his face
And a wondrous smile that ran
Right from his mouth up to his ears
He was a happy guy
And yet he had no home, no car
And soon in death he’ll lie.

I saw a man on the Television
His face all misery
He was a man who had so much
Such an important man he be
And yet his face was deathly grey
All life was drained from it
It seems that all his cobwebbed money
Has not helped him a bit.

I let you see the contrast here
So all you folk who hope
One day to be someone of means
I hope they will take note
Though money has a lot of value
It does not bring success
Cause in the end success must mean
A life of happiness.

When the Lavender Returns

As cold as ice
Wrapped round your brain
And darkness unfolds
You’re breathing in pain

It’s been freezing here
In this Land of Shattered Dreams
It’s been freezing here
This corrupted winter stings

It’s been freezing here
(Où est la Lavande?)
Your body can’t stay warm
(Où est la Lavande?)
 It’s been freezing here
(Où est la Lavande?)
This cruel and criminal storm
(Où est la Lavande?)

But don’t give up
Don’t despair
Taste the hope
Floating through the air

When the lavender returns
It’ll warm your frozen bones
Vivid violet clothes
In their candy overtones

When the lavender returns
It’ll race across the land
Rebel flower grows
In the palm of your free hand

If you look out your window
The ground’s parched and bare
If you call for your lover
She’s no longer there
If you ponder your life
Well, it feels like a wreck
And your failures are scars
You can never forget

As leaves turn brown
Sky fades to grey
You’re feeling the drought
The end of the day

It’s been lonely here
In this World of Fallen Souls
It’s been lonely here
With nowhere left to go

But don’t give up
Don’t despair
Taste the hope
Floating through the air

When the lavender returns
It’ll warm your frozen bones
Vivid violet clothes
In their candy overtones

When the lavender returns
(Où est la Lavande?)
It’ll race across the land
(Où est la Lavande?)
Rebel flower grows
(Où est la Lavande?)
In the palm of your free hand
(Où est la Lavande?)

When the lavender returns
(Où est la Lavande?)
It’ll warm your frozen bones
(Où est la Lavande?)
Vivid violet clothes
(Où est la Lavande?)
In their candy overtones
(Où est la Lavande?)

A Lonely Heart

                                                        A Lonely Heart

Without love a Lonely Heart cries.
Without hope a Lonely Heart sighs.
Without faith a Lonely Heart dies.

             A Lonely Heart:

Full of Love
Full of Hope
Full of Life
Full of Faith

                                          A Lonely Heart ...

                                                                     no more!

New Year's Eve

Can’t think about the Year that didn’t last
Can’t fight the time and how it passed so fast…
Voices were cheerful that night
Everyone was full of silver light

I heard the sounds but didn’t care
I couldn’t help but only think and stare…
I dreamed of love that possibly I’ll never share
And of life that was just like a fairytale.

In that second of complete despair
I saw the moon and realized it was all a dare
Then your voice whispered in my ear
Promising me all I needed to hear…
