No Chain, No Charm

In Unison-
~No Chain, No Charm~

United we own
Firm, full of finest goodies-
Our ground of freedom.

United we stand
Firm from failure and horror-
On the ground of strength.

United we pray
Faithfully with open mind-
Our bliss is assured.

trust the system

footsteps aimlessly
walking on their trails
beaten down and broken
shiny as the rails
the rails of the train
over used and rusted
crumbling ignored
the system that you trusted
the silence of conformity
the quiet crying song
of people lost in apathy
monotony so long
the old man remembered
the booming days of old
and tried to warn the youngster
with stories he had told
the young man in the t shirt
can hear no warning cries
television cataracts
covering his eyes
commoners injected
with complacent misdemeanors
fed intravenously
from mass media feeders
the heretics will scream
with no one to hear their call
the working slaves will perish
society will fall
in the pulpit yelling
mystifying lies
sweating like a demon
with fire in his eyes
passing round a dish
to collect the workers' wage
saving souls ain't easy
so he sets a stage
profiting from fear
preparing them for death
comfort is a business
says his liquor breath
on the front row fanning
the woman says amen
waiting for the bell
so she can live in sin
forgiveness is a blessing
that god will give to few
surely she'll be one
when her life is through
the child in the classroom
with the curious mind
will be beaten and conditioned
until she too is blind
"trust in the system"
is the motto that they teach
"question nothing,
so higher you can reach"
the land of the free
the home of the brave
only for those of us
content with being slaves
some will stand on street corners
holding big white signs
telling of injustice
held beneath our sights
but those who throw the bombs
which burn society down
those will be the shakers
for true freedom to be found
but the sheep still continue
to justify their life
ignoring others torment
blind to their strife
perpetuating failure
selling bankers souls
to keep on consuming
to get the best remote control
to build themselves a shield
what kind of life is this
numbness is a virtue
and ignorance is bliss

The Unknown Soldier

I stand at your grave.
I do not know your name.
I know not where you are from.
Where you fought,
nor where you died.

The horrors and pain you suffered,
were not in vain.
The death and destruction brought you pain.

I weep at your grave,
for the life you gave.
I weep for the Mother,
that gave you that life.

I kneel before your grave.
I bow my head in gratitude to you,
The Unknown Soldier.
Forever Remembered.

Running

I've trained for this.
Lungs burning, muscles twitching
as I close in
on the line-
24,25,26.
I see them clearly now-
My wife, my child-
smiling, cheering
as they urge me
through the echoes
of feet smacking
pavement,
through my
tunneled view of
the victory line,
through my exhaustion,
through my pain.

I've trained for this.
Lungs burning, muscles twitching
as I close in on my targets.
Thousands! There are many!
I can see them clearly now-
a woman, a child-
smiling, cheering
as I slip past
and drop my bags.
And now I am
running
through the
smoke and through the
screams as runners push
toward the finish line
without legs.

I've trained for this.
Lungs burning, muscles twitching
as I close in
on the scene.
175, 176...
I see them clearly now-
the woman, the child-
lifeless, bleeding
as they urge me
through echoes
of feet smacking
pavement,
through my
tunneled view of
torment and death and
I can do nothing but
hold their hand.

Love is a Sacrifice

You have my soul, but you have your fate Whatever your words, I’m willing to take You have my word; I’ll give you my breath It’s like a chain that would never be break You are my love with all my heart, I’ll fight for you with all my might. And in the way, you admire your goals, You hold my hands, but not so close. As you go to your chosen path, I’ll accept the fact that we will be apart. In the dark side, I leave behind Within my faith, that you’ll arise Please don’t look back, coz I’m fighting still I’m hurting so much! Don’t want to have you near I accept my fate for what it does, I’m bleeding so much, do you know for whom it was? You reach your goals, as you want to have, Would you remind the man that gave what he had? As you reach the stars, and be the one Be a sun that shines its own. After the rain, the rainbow comes, Like dark in the moon, when the light flash A glimpse from you at least a short For then I knew my pain is worth.

Unite Blue

Verse 1

I’ve had this dream now for a while,
But the real world’s where I choose to stay,
The time is now for standing up,
To reach out for that brighter day.

Chorus

Unite to lend a hand to those who are in need,
Unite against them, whose souls are consumed by greed,
Unite and lend a hand, and we can change the world,
We’re the ones we’ve been waiting for.

Verse 2

Walking past two souls holding hands,
I see that it’s true love conquers all,
A dreamland where we all sing and dance,
And hands to catch us should we fall.

(Chorus)

Bridge

United, it’s in our hands,
United, it’s how we stand,
United, across all lands.
Empathy, we understand,
Together, it’s how we stand,
Unite with one voice, One Hand.

young American days

To be in a young America ~
visions of a ship upcoming statue of Liberty
the young lad holding tightly to his Mothers leg
in all excitement of a new Land to call their own
celebrations of apple pie and fireworks on the 4th of July

thoughts of the old Hollywood on screen
films without 3-D costing less then a dollar
Greta , Monroe , Betty Davis eyes tantalizing blue glare
The Wizard of Oz or books written by Steinbach, Capote, Mark Twain

exciting new visions of creating new concepts
before Capitalism bought all little ones to bigger
songs came from the hills of Virginia to the black Mountains
surfacing in Tennessee for all to hear and wish to see

The day when one travelled by car on the road travelled
every town a story told , learning history we once shed blood
American Indian tears to the British man whom choose freedom of taxes
Boston held a tea party , now wishing they threw out marmite instead

The day when we knew our neighbors and bought homes with a paystub
Everyone had a chance to make their own with pride , even through wars
When Martin Luther King stood proudly as did President Lincoln for Freedom
How many streets have been named after the man whom had a dream ?

When milk was delivered on doorsteps in Glass bottles
Babies wanting the very first of the top being cream
leaving doors open , watching news with your family at 6pm
cartoons were shut down and it was now grown up time

Cereal being a cheap snack for after school
                         school supplies costing twenty dollars
Grandma school clothes shopping for fifty
before the internet , cell phones , and text for hello ~

2 week Vacations not afraid to put up Camp
Christmas sold in December with the sentiment of Love not money
a day when if one were sick , you could actually get penicillin without question
The Doctor treated everything calling it General Practice no fear of Malpractice

               Never forgetting our Motor city
Old Ford Trucks Chevrolets and Dodge
The city that brought Ottis Reding and Marvin Gaye

What happened to us ? Where did America Go ?

Lewis And Clark

They were Meriwether Lewis and William Clark,
Her name was Sacagawea.
On an expedition they did embark
Finding the passage to the sea.

Down the Missouri they traveled,
Then slithered 'round the Snake River bend.
Rocky Mountain weather and sickness battled;
At the Columbia River they'd end.

God's Purpose of the Rainbow

There’s many people who claim they’ve nothing to “hide!”
They tend to use the rainbow
as a source of their “pride.”

But if you read in the book of Genesis, it is revealing.
God’s purpose of the rainbow had a different meaning!

The rainbow was there when much
 of mankind disappeared!
There was a promise of God that was so very clear.

He promised to never again destroy man with a flood.
This was his promise... An extension of his love!

It was never intended as his approval for perversion!
Mankind still needs a Jesus filled holy conversion!

The colors of the rainbow can’t wash away sin’s dark stain!
This can only happen by the
 power of Jesus’ name!

The colors are beautiful… But man’s heart is filled with deceit!
Without the soul cleansing power of Jesus…
 We’re never complete!

No court decision can give the freedom that many desire!
Only the power of the cross can
 change you this very hour!

The only way to find equality with God, is through the cross!
Without his words of truth…
We are forever LOST!

Look past the colors of the rainbow! Seek the power of the blood!
Then you too, can be changed from
 God’s power from above!

If Old Men Fought

An old man looking out his door,
gaze fixed on a distant shore,
reminiscing to a time, not of happiness,
or, the prospect of a bright future,
to when he was sick to his very core,
to when as a youth, he went to war

A time before infallibility had meaning,
patriotism and bravado the craze,
the future was still unknown,
vigor for life at its all time high,
a time for romance, partying, buying,
no thought of pain, deformity, dying

Too young to understand or question,
ship to foreign shore, medals abound,
will impress the girls next time in town,
sacrifice not temporary,
forever more,
a legacy etched into a wall, few will remember,
flesh shredded, burned, torn,
families mourn

A time, when he willingly went to war,
will happen no more,
all lost in youth, now unrelenting,
no blind obedience,
minimal risk,
long life, his number one ambition

As he turns back from the door,
he thinks of the youth,
here now, soon no more,
lessons never learned,
the call to war,
to common the roar,
complacency the mood,
another generation removed

The old man agonizes
over what was originally not known,
war is preventable,
life too precious to waste,
the solution simple,
his vision, maybe too late

Send old men to the front to fight,
arthritis, heart disease, poor eyesight,
let the youth enjoy their life,
his near over, its only right

Send old men, to the front, to fight
ask them to give up their life,
patriotism and bravado, still alive,
will and desire would not last the night,
old men do not rush to death in their twilight,
failure inevitable, the old man smiles,
knows he's right

Wars not possible,
if old men, are sent to fight

Freedom Uprise

We will not ride alone on this momentous journey.
We will ride gathering our numbers, from the great mountains.
We will travel to the valley of rivers, towards the great ocean.
For we have a great army.

Those who enslaved us with their power, stand on the top of the hill.
They stare down over the army below.
An army of vengeance we have gathered.
We will ride to the battle field at the great buildings.

Our intent is to wage war.
Fear will not take us.
You are weak supremacy, you will die by the sword.
You will die by the hand of my fellow warriors.

This is war.
Blood will be spilt.
Men will draw their last breaths as they fall back onto mother earth.
Mother Earth will soak up the spilled blood of our brothers and sisters.

We will be fierce and haste not.
We the suppressed will not retreat.
We the people will rise, with swords and fists.
We are ready to die for what is equitably ours.

This is not an illusion.
The fight against the money mongers, the powers that be.
Those that hold the power, will feel our angry wrath.
None will go unscathed.

We will watch the blood spill in and about the great buildings.
Down the concrete stairs it will flow, rich, deep cherry red.
Into the green of the grass, it flows.
Fear will choke your breath.

Reflections of your past, rushing before you.
Thoughts of the dead, invade your mind.
Hollow is the cry of war, as we charge ahead to fight the battle.
To take the final stand, to give it our all.

Justice will reign by the sword and the all mighty hand.
Judgement day has arrived with this great army gathered beside us.
We will ride, steadfast into the fray.
Make no mistake this day will come upon the powers that be.

Last Kiss

Open your eyes to the ever turning skies
I want to here with me through the night
My heart yearns into your soul
Burning as if newly lit coal
I bravely submerg the embers
That the time I have can be spent with you
And I remember each kiss every moment
I was caught in your love that for just this day I remember
So what happened was a chance for your love
A time that I kept in a locket tied with a kiss
I wanted you to feel, to love, to slumber
And to awake in my arms with that times kept bliss
I lay silient in an umber

A soldier's friend

Slowly breathing with a steady beat
Boots are crunching you feel the heat

You inch on closer, looking around
Watching your friends make not a sound

You have been told to kill this man
A threat he is to freedoms plan

Hold up your rifle, take careful aim
Let go of the guilt your not to blame

Orders you follow a good soldier you are
Try not to think the size of the scar

That this order will bring deep in your soul
We raise the flag on top of this soldier's hole

I will give support, I will lend my hand
So you can brother, continue to stand

To fight for the freedoms of people everywhere
Down your rifle I, with you, shall stare

We Will Not Comply

We Will Not Comply

I never thought I’d live to see the day
When children would be taught that God is dead,
The flag we love, someone would take away,
Or leaders in corruption share a bed.

It matters not to me who ridicules;
I am American, I will rebel.
I’ll keep my God, my guns, my right to use
Free speech the truth to tell.

We never thought to live in tyranny—
Just to stand for truth could mean your life;
We need to recognize we are not free—
We will not save our country without strife.

Will we rise and claim our liberty
Or take the lies and bow to slavery?

Ancient History

I went to the VA Hospital and was surprised to see
that most of the patients were old gray haired fools like me.
I asked: “Where are all of the wild young boys who went to the ‘Nam?”
I was told that they were now a small footnote in the annals of ancient history.
I asked: “How can that possibly be?”
I was told that history books are written by stern professors in college backrooms
and not by the wild young boys who actually survived the events of ancient history.

CAPTIVATING FILIPINA

She is bronze colored in complexion...
She is not too tall nor too small..
She is found along high rise buildings to sidewalks..
She dresses according to the 90's, to the latest moda...

She has her own unique style...
She has of brilliance undefined..
She has the hands soft to caress and rough to grip..
She has of eloquence: smile that soothes...

She is from the southeastern seas..
She belongs to islands of myriads history..
She comes from the land of the tropics..
She stands out among the crowd..

Empowered through high quality education..
Unbreakable by dozens of life experiences..
Molded flexible enough by Her culture
Zest enough to face the whole world..

Wether in the most sophisticated way..
To the simplest servant you can see at home...
What makes her so captivated...
Her full blown nationality of being a Filipina...

The soul of the Crab

The soul of the crab

Oh how she hides behind that shell
Lets no one see her feelings
She’s practical in everything
But those feelings have her reeling
She’s sensitive, and hurt easy
And her moods they be so many
And yet she has not one bad bone
Malice, she has not any.

She be the one for queen and country
Digs into history
She’s always loyal to her kin
She loves her family
She’ll protect them with her life
Don’t no one touch her man!!!
She has a brilliant memory
And she’ll get you when she can.

Her mother, she loves very much
But her children more than that
Wherever there be family
That’s where she would be at
And how she loves to entertain
And cook delicious food
And always she will be a mother
In her heart will be her brood

A Soldier Remembers

A Soldier Remembers

In this evil world a few old men do still truly tell
the battles, gory losses and places their buddies fell
Painting the scenes of such sad and terrible fates
adding in the bloody details , names and sad dates

The old soldiers that lived on to love yet again
rarely ever forget the passing of cherished friend
So often said with a choked chuckle and hearty laugh
citing some other funny deed or terrible little gaffe
To highlight the humanity of that loved and departed soul
a remembrance, a statement so others may yet know

The life and times of a "beloved brother" and "comrade"
that did his very best and gave all he ever had
To stand his brothers and defend his beloved nation
preserve freedom and give peace to a future generation

Robert J. Lindley 07-13-2014

Dedicated to ALL soldiers and ALL heroes , fallen
and living!

WOMEN IN COMBAT

WOMEN IN COMBAT

By Leonard Kleeman

Women in real combat, can that really be?
The news article had a great big headline.
It stated that when outdoors, women can't pee.
And, even if it's true, that's no business
of mine.

The Pentagon will now rescind its combat ban.
Which means all the danger doesn't belong
just to a man.
But there are many opponents who say
that women are too weak to have it
that way.

That's very funny 'cause I never thought women
to be weak.
Many gals that I know are stronger than some men.
It matters not how big they are or what kind
of physique;
All the strength that women have or need is
within them.

To pee outside is not the thing they need
neither is skipping showers or pee in the wild.
They just need their brothers and sisters in arms
to cover their backs and not think of their charms,
and to accept them in combat and not think they're mild.

They are brave and courageous if you think
what they do.
They can give birth to babies and then
help you too.
They have strength in their hearts and smarts
in their head.
And if you get bad they'll beat you instead.

Where women have fought before
During peace and mostly at war,
They have fought well and won for their side
and had no reason for anything to hide.

So they can pee outside or pee in the wild.
Or even shower where men are beguiled.
Now that the Pentagon has made its analysis
that women fighting at war would not be calamitous,
They should not hold them back just because they
have no *****es.

America Is Being DESTROYED From Within

As sin and perversion often become integrated… So many lives and families are being “disintegrated.” Many are being driven by sin’s temptation force… It’s no wonder much of this country is way “off course.” The morality and values that once made a great nation. Are evaporating…. Leading to a “spiritual separation.” Love, honor, and respect of God… Is often a “thing of the past.” Anything of God seems to be disappearing FAST! God is our only hope! And him alone! Only he can bring healing to our broken homes! He’s the answer to this wounded nation, that bleeds! It’s only God that can meet all of our needs! He’s our provider… The great: “I am!” Won’t you reach out to him? And give him your hand? Why not give him a chance? And allow him in? A brand new life for you… Is waiting to begin! May we allow God’s holiness and love to reach down into our hearts… Asking; “Lord please forgive our sins!” Is a good place to start! By Jim Pemberton

Westgate Mall Massacre

I came here only but once
And that was not long ago
Hunger had brought me here
And I went my way satisfied
And fully determined to return

When I walked up the stairs
From the parking lot below
I was hungry and I was thirsty
And it seemed to me a long
Long walk to the Food Cafe

Today I flew up to the third floor
And hid myself behind litter bins
For the devil, nay, for the devils
Had struck! And struck and struck
Mercilessly, recklessly, violently

And turned this man-made haven
Of happy, chatty, and even noisy
Citizens- children and old included
Into a brazen God-forsaken hell
With brazen Godforsaken devils!

For Shots rung from everywhere
And people fell, or crept or cowered
While others jumped to their swift end
Or broke limbs, screaming and shouting
As they sought to flee the assassins’ rage

Many lives have been lost, dear friend
Much blood has been shed, dear friend
Much pain has been inflicted, my friend
Much fear has been instilled, my friend
Much loss has been incurred, my friend

These lives, this blood, pain, fear and loss
Visited, as it was, on innocent peaceful people
On a day which the whole world had set aside
To celebrate the International Day of Peace
Was meant to do what to the people of Kenya?

If it was to divide us, please know
That we are more united than ever
If it was to instill fear and sow panic
We are more courageous and calm
Than you and your lot will ever be

For the God of this land and nation is a universal God
Who loves little children like those whose brains
You wantonly scattered to the four winds
Who cares for life which you took
In your murderous adventure
Which I know will come
To a close in the
Fullness
Of time!
Who loves
Justice which
You will face in
In the not so
Distant
Hour!

Unite
Heal
And conquer
Fearless
Kenya!

The ballad of Tich Thomas

The Ballad of Tich Tomas
.
A dog was howling in the night
Perhaps she knew the truth
That Tich would not be coming home
This dog needed no proof
That the man who she loved so
He’d come to her no more
Because Lance corporal Thomas was
 A victim of the war.

Now Tich, he was a country boy
His farm it was his life
A boon to his community
He’d give in times of strife
He learned his trade in farming school
With honours he’d come through
Then settled down to work his farm
That’s what he planned to do.

But then, one day it came to him
The news he did not need
He’d been called up for army life
He went off without heed
To do his time in Puckapunyal
To get him set for war
He soon made it as Infanteer
So he joined a fighting corp

He worked real hard and gained a stripe
This showed he had potential
He earned his skills in jungle fighting
And then there came the call
For he to go to Vietnam
To five RAR he was sent
Charlie company was his unit
When off to war he went

It was in April sixty six
Our man went into battle
There in the Phuc Tuy provence
Those guns did roar and rattle
Our Tich he fought real gallantly
So brave was he, but then
The shrapnel done it’s evil job
He joined the fallen men.

They brought his body back to those
Who were waiting for him there
The whole town came to welcome him
And helped with grief and prayer
They buried him with all the honours
That came to fighting souls
Who died to keep their country free
Courageous in their roles.

More honour it was placed on him
By the country where he’d fought
They built a statue in his name
And his likeness it was caught
By the sculptor who did honour him
And carve him into stone
And now Tich Tomas guards the park
As he stands there all alone.

If you’re ever down in Nannup town
Go to the park that’s there
You’ll see the statue of young Tich
As his spirit everywhere
Will fill the souls of those who see
This fighting man, so brave
Who’s body lies so peacefully
In his own town, in a grave.

The Strand

This expanse of land has seen things.
Things all of us can only see in dreams.
It's seen war, it's gotten it's fair share of scars.
Bombs bursting, bullets throwing sand into the air like it's a volleyball tournament.
The sand running red with blood silently mocking our arteries.

This magnificent stretch of land has seen heroes' tears fall; dropping to their knees while sadness envelopes their fallen brothers but also looking up to their beloved whilst carrying a ring in their hand.

It's seen bright days, the sun glimmering over wet sand, footprints of past loves being washed away as the sun smacks the horizon.

This expanse of land...has seen things we can only imagine.

Le Vacance Pretentieuse: Going Home

What is it to see the soil of home again?
A welcome, snow-struck and a return
To cold; sharp white contrasts sunburn.
We converse in broken tongues to men

We know, hooked on holiday language
Comprised of wandering hand signs.
Collect the car and pay parking fines,
Drive through towns and over a bridge

Until we reach the Western gateway.
Oh when will we arrive at our house?
No camels there, only field mouse
Which are eaten by our cat anyway.

The plane flies for an age, slyly yawning
Through the stretching, pealing sky,
A knife through air; what it is to fly.
Our travels over; a new day is dawning.

CONQUERING DIVISIONS

I am not made a full blown beauty..
Nor I live a life of purity; charity & piety..
All I like to do is to live with identity..
Not of being a witty but a life of humility..

I tried to be a more social person..
Cracking out the shell I have put up..
Breaking from my own weakness..
Doing best in my found strengths..

I have craved to reach out to people..
Widening my horizon, increasing my knowledge and awareness..
Learning to acknowledge fellow human beings..
Regardless of who they are and where they from..

They said: "I must not do this as it is dangerous.."
but I stand to what I know: "Inside all human beings is the reflection of God.."
I give due and equal chance..
As my God have freely given me opportunities too..

We people are living in same earth..
Different are we because of status, faith or race..
Let not this be the reason for us to be divided..
Rather we must come in unison conquering divisions..

I Remember

“I remember..” the old man said,
“When the first shot rang out,
When the rebels held their stead,
British bullets flew about,
Through our ranks they sped.”
Though soldiers fall and cannons shout,
The Flag flies proud and strong, no doubt.

“I remember..” a drummer boy said,
“When the blood of our country ran free,
When the Confederates called for forced labor's spread,
And the Union fought to end the smear of slavery.”
The feud soon caused brothers to fight 'til one was dead,
And still at the end not many could agree,
But the Flag still stood as a symbol of liberty.

“I remember..” a young nurse said,
“When wounded and bleeding they came,
When, though to revive I tried, they died instead.”
Axis and Allies caught up in a brutal game,
Destruction, death, and ruin wide spread,
The tale of battles won and lost proclaim,
The strength and power of the Flag to claim.

“I remember..” an old woman said,
“When Europe was torn in two,
Rather than peace, an Iron Curtain hung instead.”
The President's goal was to subdue,
The communist leader's lofty stead.
After waiting for the verdict overdue,
The Flag rose triumphant, great, and true.

“I remember..” a young man said,
“When they attacked us in Vietnam.
Pinned by fire, they meant to shred,
The hope of seeing home again,
Through jungle and brush we fled,
Our lives almost lost by trap and bomb,
Yet the Flag held its ground and force, even in 'Nam.”

“I remember..” a weary soldier said,
“When in the deserts of Iraq,
Upon the hornet's nest we did tread.
They swarmed on us with a counterattack,
But we stood our ground and then they fled.”
Though many may try to push us back,
The Flag is what our enemies lack.

“I am witnessing..” a general said,
“An enemy that hides behind a mask,
One that will brutally behead,
And kill as if it's a mandatory task.
The safety of the world hangs by a thread,
And it seems like the die have been cast,
But the Flag still stands strong, like it always has in the past.”

Living in the Nation

You made a choice,
You broke the mold,
You raised your hand
Now you’re living bold
	Oh, yes! You did.
	Oh, yes! I did.

You turned your back
On pain and lack.
You said “No, thanks,
I’m not going back!”
	Oh, yes! You did.
	Oh, yes! I did.

When everyone else
Was still asleep,
You opened your eyes
And took a peek.
	Oh, yes! You did.
	Oh, yes! I did.

You saw the path
You made a way
You challenged fear
Now you’re here to stay.
	Oh, yes! You did.
	Oh, yes! I did.

Mama said “NO!”
Daddy said “No!”
Sista said “No!”
And so did your bro.
	Oh,yes! They did
	Oh, yes! They did

But you turned your back
On mediocrity and lack,
Said “Oh, no! This is it!”
I’m done with trouble
I don’t miss pain
I’m looking for joy
Personal growth and gain.
	Oh, yes! You did.
	Oh, yes! I did.

Yeah, you turned your back
On sorrow and lack
On worry and grief
On fear and blame
You took the steps
You fought the fight
Then you stormed the stage
On Saturday night!
	Oh, yes! You did!
	Oh, yes! I did!

You had a four step plan
In the palm of your hand.
You fought your fear
Courage brought you here
	Oh, yes! It did!
	Oh, yes! It did!

Now you’re happy and bold
You broke the mold
You’re living large
Fighting the fight
Taking your cruises
Changing your life
You’re done with the bruises
	Oh, yes! You did!
	Oh, yes! I did!

You’re soaring now
Taking life higher
Nothin gonna hold you
Did what we told you
	Oh, yes! You did!
	Oh, yes! I did!

The warmest of the warm
Came along for the ride
Shoulder to shoulder
They stand by your side.
	Oh, Yes! They did!
	Oh, Yes! They did!

Mama said “No!”
Daddy said “No!”
Sista said “No!”
And so did your bro.
	Oh, yes! They did!
	Oh, yes! They did!

You know it don’t matter
Roaches gonna scatter
You got new familia now
Go on, take a bow!
We got elevation
	Heart elation
We’re all one family
Livin in the Nation!
	Oh, yes! We did!
	Oh, yes! We did!

An Amulet of Peace

An amulet of peace hung ‘round my neck,
An AR16 rifle in my hands….
Seemed like such a paradox,
In the paddies and jungles of Vietnam.

An amulet of peace hung ‘round my neck,
A man’s life was in my hands….
That life was not only mine,
While trying to survive in Vietnam.

An amulet of peace hung ‘round my neck,
Hoping for guidance by God’s hand….
Ignore our sin, keep us alive and safe,
While fighting in Vietnam.

An amulet of peace hung ‘round my neck,
My duffel bag in my hand….
After 13 months, I was going home,
No more to fight in Vietnam.

An amulet of peace hung ‘round my neck,
An Honorable Discharge in my hand….
Only to be spat upon, called ‘baby killer’,
By ‘peaceniks’ against the war in Vietnam.

An amulet of peace no longer hung ‘round my neck,
The challenge of a new life was at hand….
Found love, happiness and some success,
And tried not to think of Vietnam.

Again, that same amulet of peace hangs ‘round my neck;
And I hope my friends all understand….
I want our courageous young men and women
Out of Iraq and Afghanistan.

We The Lost People

Our government says were incompetent –
our weapons they must take.
The 2nd Amendment no longer applies,
life, liberty and the pursuit happiness
is now at stake.

Our forefathers were merely mistaken –
this Constitution they’ve drafted in vain.
So they tear it apart piece by piece,
as We The People watch with disdain.

Your opinion doesn’t matter here –
Freedom of Speech belongs to them,
to a perverse, corrupted society,
too ignorant to see their condemned.

The Bill of Rights once ever so protected –
the Ten Commandments in every courtroom,
both now are strictly an abomination,
to this Godless Country in doom.

Take heed to their acts of subtle changes –
to their intensive need to change our creed,
People! It’s not about protecting us!
It’s about control, domination and greed!

Vets story

Vietnam Vets Story

Have you heard the story
Of those bold courageous men
Who served their country tall and proud
As they fought in Vietnam.
They done their country proud and all
And showed how soldiers fought
But now their lives aren’t worth a damns
Their nerves all tense and taut.

They sprayed their poisons on trees
Endangered all these men
And fed them drugs not tested yet
They didn’t care back then!
They wanted just to win a war
A war pointless and mad
And many now do suffer so
Their lives all sour and sad.

And now these men just live their lives
All down with no self value
{Their bodies torn their minds all twisted
Marriages broken too!}
They have to fight with all their might
To get fair compensation!!!!
What price to risk one’s soul and life
In defence of one‘s good nation.

GENUINE PINOY

7,100 islands, you are made up..
Pearl of the orient seas, that's how you are..
Cradle of four civilization, historians says..
Only Christian nation, even they speak..

Abounded with vast green forests..
Surrounded by shallow to deep trenches...
Choose wether to white and black sands of beaches..
Each island is an enticement...

Every province has it's own native delicacy...
Each one is known for its festival felicity..
Poor as it may seem yet great in hospitality..
Enabling each tourist to feel welcome in grandiosity...

Look around, you will see a smile..
Scattered genuine friendship in mile..
Wether you are black, white or yellow skin..
They don't care as long as you're clean...

Clever and intelligent...
Creative and truly magnificent..
Small probably by height..
Yet, if known you'll be full in sight..

God fearing - spirited by nature..
Responsible enough for the future..
Families implants love to nurture..
Obviously seen in each Filipino creature...

An American Hero

                          for fallen soldiers

I watched the bad news on TV again...
A young soldier came home in a coffin.

He is someone's Son, Daughter, Grandson, Granddaughter,
Brother, Sister, Friend, Husband, Wife, Father or Mother:

who will never smile and hug his parents,
who will never love and kiss his spouse,
who will never enjoy and play with his kids,
who will never laugh and talk with his friends,
who will never wear his military uniform,
who will never, ever be again around us...

He, who gave his life, is an American Hero:
an American Son or American Daughter.

We will remember You, Soldier.

Good Morning, Apocalypse Now : A Tribute to a Vietnam Veteran

Untitled 5
(My Uncle: Good Morning, Apocalypse Now)

My uncle doesn't speak much
about Vietnam or the stuff
he witnessed when he
was just a boy. See,
he likes to drive the back roads fast
and honk at random cars that pass.
His friendly gestures always lead to how
he grew up compared to kids now.

Jumping and racing trains on the tracks
became dodging bullets and carrying his buddy on his back.
The marshes and dirt valleys here
became the forests and trenches of the military frontier.

Last year, my sister donned his jacket
a fatigued fatigue that hung in his closet.
In color and memory darkened,
kept out of sight for fear it would harken
the PTSD he's stuggled to avoid.

He saw his brothers, young like him
to Vietnam succumb
while on American soil
and he promised he would never speak,
for fear his stomach would coil,
when remembering rice - a dish he no longer enjoys.
And there's no orange on his clothes to remind him of the agent that destroyed.

When he speaks a calm
"Good morning", I wonder if he's thinking of Vietnam
or if he knows
that I admire his strength and
bravery and how
he continually fights against
the "Apocalypse Now".

PROCRASTINATION

it's best done later and not now

tomorrow will be perfect i can vow

Why yoke yourself like a laden cow?

The cloud is heavy and ready to snow

Be merry with life and take it real slow

And in observing the cloud u didn't sow

Alas the seed dies with its great potential

buried with a would have been credential

The plan became an aborted mission

Because procrastination stole the vision

Independence Day

Independence Day,
Is the day to give thanks,
For all of your freedoms,
That all those wo have died,
Have given their life to give us,
What we have each and everyday,
We have the rights,
To choose where to live,
What to eat,
What to wear,
What to watch on tv,
Who to put in office,
And many more freedoms,
That other countries do not have,
This should make us be,
Thankful for all those,
Who give up their lives,
To protect and serve,
What freedoms we have,
Each and everyday,
That give us our rights,
To use our minds,
So please tell everyone that you meet,
That protect and serve this great country of ours,
You appreciate what they do,
For they don't get enough thanks,
For everything they do,
Day in and day out,
By putting their lives on the line,
In fact, They barely get any thanks,
All the time,
When they should get thanks all the time,
For their lives are on the line,
For us everyday,
So we may have our freedoms,
So, Please try and be kind,
To those who deserve it,
The living and the dead,
To all who deserve it,
And never forget them,
Or their lives they have sacrificed,
For us so we can all have our freedom times.

spirits that will outlast

  I'm the sentient of individuality,
the warrior of my path,
free from anything claiming power,
that laughs at social wrath,
that walks with firm ability,,
  I'm the control at present,
that nothing steers for me,
the navigator twards sole horizons,
free destinations I independently see,
honor of my life's intent,,
  Sole creators of this choice,
that others look to see,
that leads with independent indifference,
knowing that it's not free,
leading with the strongest voice,,
  This independence the hardest road,
but worth it above all,
knowledge of this gained wisdom,
you'll rise above the call,
power of one so bold,,
  The ancestors of ancient past,
knew this all too well,
always striving twards independent light,
staring down faces of hell,
true spirits that will outlast.

SPACESHIP VOYAGE

The galaxy is my dominion.
I am a flyer for Orion.

The constellation is vast.
As I fly home in my spaceship

The day-lit sky is purple and orange with clear clouds of crystalline.
The air is blowing from the west with images of an alien moon.

East of Taurus stands the Planet of Galactica.
A star of a hunter with belt and sword

The war was done many years ago.
Our spaceships fly back and forth.

Today, peace exists.
Our freedoms are known.

This land of Galactica is brotherly love.
We protect our home front; however, with stun guns.

We travel within this protected gear.
Life here will persevere.

Our people are the Galactians.
We are their protectors.

THE BIRTH OF DEMOCRACY

1.
Once upon a very long time in the eleventh century B.C.
There was a king in, Athens, who ruled both land and sea

2.
To all was known as king Codrus*, a mighty warrior was he
His enemies were much afraid in his kingdom once to be

3.
Yet, the Spartans** war declared and marched into Codrus’s land
Wishing all Athens to burn down, nothing vertical to stand

4.
Codrus, saw the Spartans coming and his army he prepared
To defend the holiest ground thus his city to be spared

5.
First he sent to ask the oracle of God Apollo at Delphi***
To reveal to the king, Codrus, who the winner would be

6.
God at once the answer gave: “The victor of war would be
The city of which the King is slain" that’s the way to be free

7.
Codrus, was much determined his beloved Athens, he to save
Thus his kingly clothes took off, went the enemy to brave

8.
To Spartans the oracle was known, to their soldiers gave orders
No one to hurt king Codrus, else they had to leave the borders

9.
Codrus, as a peasant soon was dressed, ax in hand was he holding
As he approached the Spartans’ camp, his fury was fast unfolding

10
Spartans, him, didn’t recognize and with a sword they cut him down
But then saw that the king was he, wrapped inside that filthy gown

11.
Instantly their camp the Spartans broke and left that same day
To return to Sparta their city and found themselves at bay

12.
The Athenians then decided, by no means, a new King them to find
For none would love his land As Codrus did, with all his heart and mind

13.
This the way democracy**** was born, some thirty-one centuries ago
When Athenians, the King’s powers passed to people, by only a single law

© Demetrios Trifiatis
   12 OCTOBER 2014

*Codrus (in Greek, Kodros) was the last of the semi-mythical Kings of Athens that ruled between 1089-1068 B.C. He is considered the finest example of patriotism and self-sacrifice. This is his story!
**The most powerful states in ancient Greece was Sparta and Athens..
During the time of the Spartan invasion of Athens territory in 1068 B.C. the Spartans consulted the Delphic Oracle, who prophesied that their invasion would succeed as long as the king of Athens was not harmed.
***At Delphi was the temple of Apollo, son of Zeus! One of Apollo’s duties was
To reveal to humans his father’s Will. The Greeks of old were doing nothing
unless they were consulting Apollo who was the prophet par excellence. Once
Apollo was giving his reply the Greeks obeyed it to the letter!
****Democracy is the combination of two words: Demos and Cratos . Demos means the People and Cratos means Power so Democracy means Power to the People.

Ideological War of the Worlds

 The coming times can unfold,
far accross to all lands,
the casting shadow has fallen,
with it's far reaching hands,
accross our four cornered world,,
 Humanity progressed to progressive sufferage,
that comes with many names,
the ideology won without a shot,
convinced populations into guilted shame,
lost are voices of courage,,
 The warring world will arise,
between makers and takers,
parasitic ideology's green eyed mind,
re-writing regulations by progressive thinkers,
big brother's utopian great enterprise,,
 Dependent we all become, parasitically,
even forced fed into submission,
by governmental state so enlarged,
numbered you are by institution,
nothing owned, only redistributed cynically,,
 Paupers suffer under progressive fortitude,
soulless programs of living propaganda,
your worth, what you produce,
socialized into this living agenda,
living taxed products of servitude,
           , and then...
 The rise will come independent,
carrying courage and freedom proudly,
with wisdoms weapon in hand,
knowledge in the other soundly,
honor reclaimed by the sentient,,
 Independent declarations germinating from seed,
feared by any progressive regime,
warriors in freedom stand tall,
threatened is the progressive dream,
renewing freedoms that will breed,,
 The liberty that spawned revolution,
alive from all moral conceptions,
viewed as evil that's progressive,
feared are soulless seeking redemption,
the light of liberty's salvation,,
 Beating freedoms of sentient heart,
the salvation of fighting worth,
a force greater than any darkness,
warriors of liberty step forth,
champions of honor that impart,,
, next, the final chapter of...
 Ideological war of the worlds,
eye to eye never seen,
the hatred between clearly drawn,
problems with peace to intervene,
the conflict as it unfolds,,
 Coming as thieves of night,
armys on both sides comes,
fortifying and building societial walls,
truth and lies propaganda welcomes,
armored suited masses to fight,,
 Emerges the lights of honor,
the independent class called defenders,
private elites of character gold,
the shadows behind all pretenders,
opperatives that's far more superior,,
 Defenders are warriors of light,
core beliefs that's solely independent,
religiously organized they never follow,
thorns in a crowned tyrant,
independent wills of great might,,
 They are why freedom thrives,
true leaders leading into tomorrow,
that govern by liberty's will
that invites everyone to follow,
founding fathers of our lives..

911 America Rising

Concrete, steel, glass, and dust,
we watched three thousand die.
Then there was no longer trust,
only fear when we would fly.

Our cozy world gone in a flash.
We'd never be the same.
Routine flight to horrific crash.
A jihad was proclaimed.

Souless zealots on native soil,
a scourge not seen before.
American blood began to boil
as we were shaken to the core.

While the cowards knelt in mock prayer,
we stood defiant and rebuilt.
Such lonely souls in disrepair
found the power not to wilt.

Though a decade's gone the pain's still fresh,
from an ache we know so well.
We paid the price in human flesh,
but they'll settle up in hell.

The Shield

Nearly everywhere in this big world we call home
There is injustice running rampant
Whether it is in the Middle East, Asia, or Rome
Innocent people are unfortunate victims

President Barack Obama once said:
Justice is what people need more than anything
Justice is also what made our Founding Fathers
Break away from a tyrannical king

And ever since the Declaration of Independence was signed
This nation has served as a shield against injustice
And we have made all of our enemies bind,
Run and surrender at every turn

Whether it is terrorists, a foreign country,
Or just some force of nature
That dares to threaten our security
We are there to serve true justice

To those who dare awaken a sleeping giant
They can either run or yield
Because this great nation is
A shield against the cruel reality of injustice

Fading Anguish

Forced down onto the thick mud
the stench of this rotten blood
Determined for this to be surreal
My fate would change if it were real

My life begins anew In my head
From the time mother put me to bed
Father took me to my first Yankee’s game
Where I was inspired by their fame

To keep the kids soundly in bed
My blood, I fear, I must shed
Not knowing whether I would live or die
the anguish is consuming my thigh

The pain is slowly dying out
my destiny is nothing but a doubt
Laying on the red infested loam
Guadalcanal, you are my last home.

The All-Clear

Perhaps, I might be blind at anytime,
The present, I know, I'd beaten the time.
Though then, I was down in the dumps
Now, I cocks an ear and eye at the pumps.
Now, I'm not living in cloud cuckoo land,
I behold facts in what is my hand.
Power shouldn't hold onto word-smith,
But should be based on the worldly-wise,
With the think-thank aides and not filth.
That 'll keep cries in check for the rise.
If you can't beat them, convince them
And not to turn your back like Satan.
Set the pace for those at the helm
And don't keep back plans as though isn't your clan.

People vs People vs The World

Beaten and Bused,
Seem Like A Holocaust.
But I Rather Be Free,
Then In The System And Lost.
You Talking About Struggle,
Look At Me.
I Too Been Through It,
And Im In Need.
You Cry Those Cries,
And Say What You Say.
There's Only One Path,
That'll Lead The Right Way.
Take My Advice,
It's What You Should Know.
Once You Find The Truth,
Your Heart Will Glow.
See Ain't Nothing Wrong,
With Being BLESSED.
But You Cant Be Blessed,
If You Full of STRESS.
Im Tired of Being Sad,
Tired of Crying.
For All These People,
That Careless About Dying.
This World Is Not Loved,
It's Full of Hatred.
Keep Playing And You'll Be Like,
All Those From The Patriot.
I Am Confident,
And So Should Too.
If No One Cares,
Just Remembered Who Died For You.
Everything That Goes On,
Was Meant For A Reason.
But This Time Is My Time,
Your Due In The Next Season.
So If Anyone's Against You,
Remind Yourself Whose On Your Side.
Not The World, Your Love, Not Even Me,
Just Him Up HIGH.

District 13 Revolution

Fireworks slide down the back of my tongue

Some went north to imitate stars,

knowing all to well they wouldn’t even make it to the stratosphere

A fire can’t breathe with no air

Ask that man in the alley why he has to shoot black skies into his veins to see them.

You probably have more in common than you might think.

Satellite transmissions making waves like the oceans they cover

Healthy food is expensive, while poison is damn near free!

There is a storm coming

Grab your blankets and I will tell you how it ends with a new beginning.

THE WAY WAR VETERANS SUFFER FOR OURS HARD WORK

I look and saw how much war veterans like me suffer when we come back from war,We don't have anyone to comfort us,the power is on the side of those that beat us down,I look and saw how much war veterans like me suffer with tears in ours and sadness on ours faces,We don't have anyone to comfort us,the power is on the side of those that beat us down,I look and saw how much war veterans like me suffer, where we should be treated right,we are treated wrong,we have no one to comfort us,the power is on the side of those that beat us down,I look and saw how much war veterans like me suffer, where we should be treated fairly we are treated unfairly, the power is on the side of those that beat us down,We don't have anyone to comfort us,I look and saw how much war veterans like me suffer, where we should be treated kind,we are treated unkind, the power is on the side of those that beat us down,We don't have anyone to comfort us,I still can see the tears of war veterans like me suffing from coming back from war,We don't have anyone to comfort us,the power is on the side of those that beat us down,I look and saw war veterans like me suffer, where we should be treated good we are treated badly,I still can see the tears of war veterans like me suffing who are still on this earth while ours conrades have paid the price and die for this country,We still don't have anyone to comfort us, the power is on the side of those that beat us down,I look and saw the country on 9/11 when the enemy came and bomb the USA,We was there to comfort the country and the people that lost love ones, the power was on the side of the military of the USA,We beat them down,so I ask this question????? Who are going to comfort us now,we are no longer soldiers but war veterans all mess up we was not born this way but got this way for fighting for ours country////// SSG Jack Thomas Kirt

Wake Up and Die

I watch the peddles fall but my eyes are dry
I just can’t remember a better time
Now the skies grow dim and birds won’t fly
Yah there’s nothing I see that’ll make it shine
I see rolling balls and empty hands
The world is shameless for those who can’t even stand
And the man in slacks who speaks on the podium
His lies preaching out how we’re not alone.

So wake up and die
Dig out your graves
Prepare for the laughter
Through the haze
Too much loss
Prevented your gains
Rise up with your brothers
Cause we’re all the same

The bars are easy to fill and life’s been too hard
So quick to get into and not too far
Drinking wasted taxes and politician’s lies
Hiding back your distaste right behind your eyes
Singing about the railroad and the power of love
Shoulda brought them together before they sung
Now they’ve chased them back to a life of pain
Their lies preaching still how we’re all the same

Going backwards
we can’t accept the past
Moving forwards
we hope we’ll last
run by lords
we see power from their hands
walk by love and
we’ll take a stand

Ireland

Oh Ireland i have seen your beauty
I have seen your hatred too
I have heard the songs of rebellion
The war of words, the words of death.
 You remember Pearce,Connolly and Mcbride
You forget the children who have died
 Died because of your ignorance
 Died,because of you,the people
Who stand and watch, then turn away
When will you learn that no-one wins
In the game of war and hate
 But everybody loses
For you, is it too late ??

War-Born Lullaby

I hear a mother softly cry
As she sings a war-born lullaby.

The song of a father who went away,
To give freedom one more day.

He promised that he would return,
Return from watching evil burn.

It was a promise he could not keep,
As now he sleeps an eternal sleep.

He gave his life so his child could see,
A land of freedom and liberty.

His body now rests beneath green grass,
His medals and picture behind clear glass.

His soul, however, is not gone.
His ideas and dreams are carried on.

She sings the song of war’s high cost.
She sings the song of freedom not lost.

She sings of a father’s sacrifice,
For his country and family he gave his life.

Defeat, We Know You Not

Defeat, We Know You Not

Say no defeat shall shatter our dreams
no boulders shall block our streams
  no pain shall ever erase
The love of freedom we have in place!

Cry out to our ancestor's great pride
stand the pain , endure the ride
  stand on sacrifice they gifted
Let love of life birth souls uplifted!

Unconquered we live on to be brave
freedom from birth to the grave
  freedom to freely speak out
Let defiance ring forth with a shout!

Ring our hearts with armor of steel
death can not ever break our will
  death is but another land
Victory is the heart of every free man!

Say no defeat shall ever mare the face,
or ever dare destroy freedom in the human race!

This was previously written for the Patriot contest
but replaced with the one I entered . My wife thought
this was the best one but I chose the other entry.
Why are women so smart and intuitive?
Only now do I see her choice was better!
Yes, I dared to admit it to her too! lol

Believe It

Believe Nothing
Believe Something
Believe Anything
Believe Everything
You are free to believe as you please
As long as that belief doesn't include killing me
If your fist threatens my nose
We will come to mighty blows
Live in peace
Or die in pieces
Don't tread on me
Let me be
Believe it

AMERICAN TIME

Once upon a time
There were days, months and years
Once upon a time
We would plan, dream and we had no fears
Once upon a time
There were moments, evenings and late afternoons
Once upon a time
We heard stories, sang songs and watched Saturday cartoons
Once upon a time
There were decades, generations and changing seasons
Once upon a time
We saved Sunday for church and we all knew the reason
Once upon a time
We stood and pledged with a hand on heart
Once upon a time
We were united together, we all did our part
Once upon a time
We held liberty and freedom, rich in red, white and blue
Once upon a time
The world was a better place and you know my words are true
Once upon a time
We almost lost our freedom land
Once upon a time
Hope, Faith and Courage became our stand
Once upon a time
There were Statesman, Patriots, Heroes and Leaders
Once upon a time
We voted out the haters, pretenders and political cheaters
Once upon a time
Is now, RIGHT NOW, we have so much to save
Vote and STAND UP for Old Glory, long may it wave
Once upon a time
God Bless America
Once upon a time

Tim McCravey, USMC

I have a great friend and his name is Tim McCravey.
He joined the Marines instead of the Army or Navy.
He bravely fought in the Persian Gulf War.
It's people like him who Americans are thankful for.

During the war, I wrote to him and he sent me twenty bucks.
Anybody who has Tim for a friend, has plenty of luck.
He and I were friends thirty years ago and we're still friends today.
It's very nice to know that he's patriotic to the USA.

(Dedicated to Timothy McCravey.)

CLEVELAND

the city is closing for the night
stores draw their blinds one by one
every street is dark save for the dim
Downtown streetlights bending at the neck

like weighted stems of steel. Rockefellers
and Carnegie have built the city in layers:
clinics, factories, the rounded arch hotels
what is not there than fortune? Further Downtown

has changed with neon lights flashing from
4th Street Bar and Grill on The Corner Alley where
they serve stylish late dinner at night so before you leave
Downtown have a day at West Side Market, howl at the

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, visit houses turned galleries
and other places that make Cleveland a great City
of course, the great Lake and Tri-C welcomes
you to adventure and a brighter future beyond pine trees

yet, drifting along silent paths alone is a soul walking
to a desolate corner of the city where alone with the family
their souls swirl like clouds of birds vanishing into the sky
and soon will fade like a smoke into thin air

pacing down the road rolling silently through the frost
in the dark after the nightshift is this soul with his head in his palms
the neon lights of Downtown ended where his air smells of salt
and his lover’s body was once found in the cold snow
it’s his third job of the day but you can’t find eggs on his dinner table

in Cleveland there are many young beech-trees on the edge
trembling to stand still beneath their pale skies and they shudder
like leaves in the light air afraid of the star beyond their reach
and my heart fills slowly with tears that will never dry

Sons And Daughters Of Zion

Copyright © 2014
12.13,2014

These sons and daughters of Zion
bears the songs and trails of triumph.

Before the coffins are shipped
  and their bags are zipped.

These sons and daughters of Zion
bears the songs and trails of triumph.

So, let not their Nation regret
  for their blood and sweat.

These sons and daughters of Zion
bears the songs and trails of triumph.

But, represent them with pride
not racism as most try to hide.

These sons and daughters of Zion
bears the songs and trails of triumph.

So, please receive them with cheer
it's only their enemies you fear.

These sons and daughters of Zion
bears the songs and trails of triumph.

America, America, GOD gave this land to thee
purge thyself from what we all now see
for these sons and daughters of Zion
who bears the songs and trails of triumph.
