How to Die

At a carnival- in my dream
I saw an old man had made
a rocket - and blasted off
I saw it go overhead and at first thought
It was a decoy
because no-one could come back to Earth safely
From such a blast
Then - I assumed because he was old
he wanted to die in a
Blaze of glory
Next I see his rocket turn into a parachute
And he has on snow skis and poles
We all make a space for him to land.
As he lands - the street turns into a river-
and he manages to land upright
on the skis - on the water.
But I think then he had a heart attack
From the joy of landing

dream catcher

Blooming before us, like dandelions sprouting in the spring.
Rising above and beyond, invisible during the day,
  Guardians at night.

Dangling up high as if it were puppets.
So close, mountains could give a kiss away.
The Stars dance and wiggle, as if putting on a play.
Clouds form a dark, grey, thunderstorm,
Clapping and roaring vividly, like an applause.
The wind glides along in appraise.
The moon shivers and squirms, it smiles upon the stars.

A shooting star evolves,
Leaving a trail of the dreams that sparkle in the dust.
Feeling pure joy, the
Moon erupts into a wall of tears.
Water breaks the bond of the dreams attached to the star,
It slowly sinks down into the homes, in the rooms,
Into the minds, of the beholder.

It has now lost its dreams.
The sun is rising, and the star at once must become invisible,
It now must start over and watch from above like a hawk.
It now must watch the lives of everyday people,
And become one with the beholder.
It now must take dreams and guard them with its life.
It now must take on its duty as a Dream-Catcher.

Velvet Wings

Ignorant to passing time
Reality strikes its deafening chime
Unspoken words pass between
I and you, my darling queen

Lay your weary head to rest
With your arms across your chest
Now it's time to close your eyes
Whisper your final goodbyes

Let me go, we'll both be free
Cross the wasteland, past the sea
Find the path to heaven's light
Break away from endless night

Embracing tears of bitter pain
Falling lightly with the rain
Out of reach, I hear your song
Alone again, I sing along

Let me go, we'll both be free
Cross the wasteland, past the sea
Find the path to heaven's light
Break away from endless night

From the night. . .
I watched your velvet wings take flight
I never saw you so alive
So alive
I watched your velvet wings take flight
I'll never ever say goodbye
Never say goodbye

Life has ended, you have won
Death befriended, pain is gone
Fly away into the light
Crystal clear and shining bright
Close your eyes for final rest
Meeting among the blessed

Let me go, we'll both be free
Cross the wasteland, past the sea
Find the path to heaven's light
Break away from endless night

From the night. . .
I watched your velvet wings take flight
I never saw you so alive
So alive
I watched your velvet wings take flight
I'll never ever say goodbye
Never say goodbye

I let you go so you'll be free
Cross the path of darkened sea
I watched your velvet wings take flight
I can never say goodbye
Never say goodbye

Forgotten You

Forgotten you
As your mind collects the memories of yesterday
Forgotten You
Epiphanies tie into knotty strings of realization
That very moment. . .
You merely exist

Back then. . .those smiles
Those. . .distant laughs
Some you remember by name
Gone now maybe
Like the exhalation of the wind
Others dispersed in the world of arbitrary happening
Like leaves from falling, man-made trees
There is no doubt that they have
Forgotten you

Activate the bomb
Ignite the fuse
And you’re on next year’s history book
Never forgotten
But drained of all remaining good

That smile you gave
That happiness
The warm embrace so long ago
Salt-coated with piles of rubbish
Over last remaining mental spurts of comfort
Evil, evil, evil, evil, EVIL. . .
Always absorbed and remembered
. . .though never forgiven. . .

All good and gracious sentiments
Packed up in a box set nonchalantly in Downstair’s storage
. . .that chair with the broken leg in the corner of the room
That mangled cobweb holding a dangling, lifeless spider
A drowned sailor’s hat drifting through the current of the ocean
The single tear from a soldier’s vigilant, memory-stricken eye
The frustrating thoughts of a mute
The unchanged. . .HATED deformations

Forgotten you. . .
One soul brings to light weary, unthought-of happenings
Wedged deep into what she can only imagine
With not even a hint of understanding
. . .of the pain. . . .of the bewildering distortions
Of the ugly. . .
One soul merely vomits sickly verse after verse

As humanity embraces its downfall
The poet hangs onto her unjustifiable, forgotten. . .

Because I'm ready to grow up

Because I'm Ready To Grow Up

I have had enough
Enough with the happy times

I'm ready to take on the stress
No more playground or bubbles baths please
Enough with the piles and piles of mess
I'm grown up now ready for change

I had it with being a baby bird
I don't want to be fed I don't want to cry
I want to get out of the nest, spread my wings
I want to take flight in the sky so high

I had enough of the princess dresses
Get rid of those Barbie dolls
Throw away all those plastic high heels
And bring on the teenage texting of Lols

Don't u get it I've had enough
I'm ready to grow up to break out of the shell
I'm prepared to take on life's earthquakes
Waiting for the day when I'll have stories to tell

Princesses and fairies will never be real
There is nothing in the world that's free
You don't magically have a happy ending
All i can be in life is me

So I'm ready to grow up
To escape the magical world
For you have to earn whatever you want
Nothing comes in a pink sparkly twirl

So I've had enough
Rip my childhood apart
I'm happy to face the impending future
drown the happy memories in my heart

Who Am I

A new photograph floats to the surface
Playfully dressing up as the world around me
Hat, striped socks and all
Tiptoeing at the top for one last sweet moment
Before sinking back into my ocean mind.

One after another they arrive
Single file,
Steeping my eyes in the world
As the minds shutter, ever fluttering
Strings together this conscious stream I play in.

My photographs fade in time’s wrinkled arms.
Joining their brothers and sisters at the ocean floor,
They hold hands and try to answer the question that is always asking itself:
Who am I?

WHO AM I BY NAME ALONE

written 10th Aug 2013

I am God's child, first and forever
I am known by many different titles, a daughter
I am a wife
I am a mother
I am a grandmother
I am a poet
I am by several ways, known as a sister
I am an acquaintance
I am a loyal friend
I am a stranger
I am a cousin
I am an Auntie
I am a niece
But who is this person, they all call "Denise?"

She is a child to God
She is a niece
She is a cousin
She is a stranger
She is a loyal friend
She is an acquaintance
She is known to many, a sister
She is a poet
She is a grandmother
She is a mother
She is a wife
She is known as a daughter to many
She is everything, she'd ever dreamed her life to be....
She is happier than she ever imagined possible
SHE IS "DENISE"

IF ONLY DREAMS HAD WINGS

If only dreams had wings,
I would be where I had wanted to be.
If only shadows don't stray so far off;
My destiny assured would bring me peace of minds

If only dreams had wings,
I'd have met my man from Tokyo by now
If the roses still blooms, tended less;
Less worries that I will for so long plough

If only dreams had wings,
Low grounds will my feet fear
If money had meant no value at all;
Off every luxury should my feet wear

If only dreams had wings,
There will be those bright lights;
Very eager to blind me into void's air-tights
If dreams had wings,
I would definitely be flying by now
And right now

Infinite Energy S

Get on your bike and get out of my face it smells of fish and oil on the beach this peachy day cape on my shoulders to fly away up with the seagulls I sh*t on your face Now that the body has been properly buried full of the scars from the wars do I carry I cannot believe you all find me scary I skip full of spirit for despite this I'm still merry For on this day God smiled on me gave me the sign to renew my belief and with his presence I shall achieve an eternal life filled by my infinite energy (S).

SMALL COUNTRY IS ENOUGH

More than enough for me, a small country
There is no bloodshed, the winning is free
So the government rules are not our foes
Life even at bet, at least on our own bit

Than a country of big, but a war it will take
Ours not the country, not even our territory
Let the owners govern they and have their say
They won’t accept us to lead their heads

They don’t like the islanders, to captain the ship
They have their own chief in the land wide field
Like them is us will never accept their lead
Never had we recognize, their captain in the trip

They will do theirs among their kind
For the cause’s sake, there must be a divide
And then we are to unite, to hold our rights
The winning is completed to get back to basic!

Dreams of Louisiana

Dimly lit, I sit
in a Mexican kitchen
near the Tropic of Cancer.
A TV is tuned
to inane noises;
dogs at my feet,
oranges in a bowl
on a table:
a specific place and time.
And I am dreaming --
dreaming of Louisiana
in twilight hours --
dreaming of short winter days and
summer's green, bright mornings.
Country time, mostly empty,
was quiet, seldom interrupted
by human utterance;
but my busy brain
was full of fantasy
and subterfuge.
The world was new, was big,
was yet to be explored;
possibilities seemed endless.
Oak and cypress,
willows, pines -- and magnolias --
were all around, and cane fields
stretched for miles.
The bayous that had always been there
were there still.
Change was slow in coming
and childhood lasted long.
I dream now of Louisiana:
poignant vignettes... dreamy glimpses...
and all those slowly fading
recalled moments
of the past...

The Righteousness Of Love

Love is a wonder shared by one another it's the only reason I'm not six feet under Love in which I believe in a will to sustain I give back to life, now in dormant states of pain The power of Love may not alone be enough locked inside my dreams escape only from above higher than any human being has ever gone before I must have evolved rise above hate, great once more My Father taught me wisdom I am imprisoned no longer now an beast not of burden I am no lion, I am stronger on my shoulder sits twin dragons long awaiting the day evil forces come forth to take what Love is left, away A Hero of Love light are what the world needs angels, not demons exist where ever you believe follow your heart's direction and you shall achieve objects of affection rid of materialistic greed My bright energy has awakened to a fire never consuming the source as the flames just grow higher that is the desire of a product we call Love Fear, the counterpart what I was once made of I am slowly learning how to win when my peace is harder to sharpen so I have given my pen leave the sword has its uses I must say I believe to vanquish the evil in the minds too diseased to serve any purpose except their own selfish ones tomorrow a new day in the clarity of the sun where we two are now one and one done now does bring about a great change lit by the righteousness of Love.

A Farmer's Eyes and a Sailor's Shadow

A thorough yield
On a farm field of far east
It took me time to realize
How far I am to my far east of coast

Call of my weather
Call of my winds
I sailed further and farther
To my naked coasts
Naive songs, Nimble rains
Nile of rivers, Nascent clouds

Reaching this far
I kissed my earth
Ground of my grief
Glory of my ghosts
Glad is those leaves
However scanty they are

Cast is my shadows
No longer they hide
My colors and my figures
They cast numbers on stars
Measure their light
Scope my winters
Scale my summers
Scanty my rains
Scuttle I wish my springs

Now let me see my greens
Their leveling heights
Their leafy gaze
Their spiderly gesture
Their primordial texture
Now let me be slow
In company of my greens

The dream

By the time I finished highschool, my top highest dream that I wanted to accomplish before any of my other so many dreams
          Was
                To become a nun

I wanted to be holy of the holiest
Wearing my long attire, all covered up
I wanted to be like the nuns in my highschool
I wanted to only focus on God, devoted to Him only
I wanted to live in a convent, with other sisters

After I finished highschool I visited a convent in Karen and I remember standing there by the gate imagining myself living there one day

After I finished highschool, I also did a lot of volunteering and charity work in children's homes
-Because I knew most of my work as a nun would be serving

But after a while, the little pocket money I had saved in highschool run out and so I couldn't visit all these places that I felt I was called to be
So I stayed home as I waited for my university acceptance
And that's when I reconnected with a friend from primary school
And she had stories that made my nun dream a hallucination

She told me of her first sex which was on the couch in her sister's house
She talked in details of the feels and fills of sex that left my innocent curious mind running wild
She talked of the blood stain on the couch and the arms that held her tight as she became a woman
And from there, all I wanted to be was that girl
From that sunny day under a tree where we girls talked for hours, my dream changed.

Days of my youth

Those were the days of my youth
I was young and I was wild
Days were young and I was new
When money became my pride

I was searching in all the places
To see what I was gonna be
Searching all around the world
Not knowing, the answer's within me

I was blind in my pride
Love made it hard to see
Didn't know?really money
Could be my enemy

Took me days and I grew old
Finally I found the truth
Love and money had ruined my days
The precious days of my youth

Love And Pricks

I Love the elderly so full of history I love my generation who kept me a mystery I love the children who's future, now bright for I have died for them to capture the light for i understand pain more than ever once I released it the anger got better as it went away from the people and into my music without a single reason to prove it without a reason to let Love's light in I didn't, it found me and lesser I sin God and my father both let me know it would all be okay so very long ago even tho the road would be full of pricks even back then I'd tell them you can all suck my dick. -Bj Fard

THE WISE AND OLD

My Eyes Are The Seers Of Treasure,
Among The Limbs When I Dream Of Leisure,
The Brain Is Wealth,
As A Thieve Is To Stealth,
The Future Is For The Dreamers,
For As Far As I Recall, I’m Among The Schemers,
And The Brain Is Indeed Gold,
Only In The Minds Of The Wise And Old.

Beautiful Things Seem To Never Last,
As They Always Opt To Stay In The Past
Sometimes I Smile, Sometimes I Whine,
As If I Have A Needle Penetrating My Spine,
I Had Never Came Across Luck,
Midst The Uncomfortable, And Nuisance I’m Stuck,
However I Never Knew That My Mind Was Gold,
For I Believed, Brains Are Only For The Wise And Old.

I’m The Cold And The Belligerent,
Opposite The Bold And Intelligent,
I am A Sad Song That Was Never Sung,
Still Stuck On The Singer’s Numb Tongue-
Should I Blame Stupidity, Rushing Through The Pain,
Clueless As I am- Here I Remain,
For I Have Assumed Patience Is Gold,
Only In The Mind Of The Wise And Old.

My Heart Is Feeble, And My Strength Have Drained
And Whenever My Thoughts Dried- I Wished It’d Rained-
Where’s The Light, I Wonder, Feeling Like A Powerless Torch,
While Everyone Stares At Me Like A Raven On Their Front Porch,
Therefore My Visions Turns Microscopic, Filling Me With Wrath,
As If Ninety Nine Black Cats Crossed My Path-
Yet Deep Down Inside Me My Thoughts Are Gold,
Leaving Me With The Feeling Of The Wise And Old.

When I Grow Up

"When I Grow Up"

When I was five, I was asked what I wanted to be when I grew up.

I told them I wanted to be a princess.

When I was eight, I wanted to be a waitress.

When I was twelve: a teacher.

When I was sixteen: a doctor.

Now when asked what I want to be in the near future,

I know exactly how to respond.

I want to be happy.

CHOICE OF LIFE

written 29th June 2013

Recalling that day at school, the teacher set that task..
what do you want to be? she asked the class..

My answer was simple, so I had thought...
to be a mum, I'd have six kids and live on a farm

If you would believe, that's exactly what I received
but it was not made to come with ease

For the fathers I had sadly chose, became prideful and greedy!
never til now did it cross my mind, my babies would someday not need me

Leaving me again to think, what do I really want to be
as faith would have it, as it had been planned so I'd see

For the FIRST! time, direction would finally enter into my life
poetry writer; was soon to amount of me, after I'd become a wife

Now poems are continuously raging within my head, all wanting to be read
as I failed English on an epic scale, to believe this dream inside of my head

At 38 years old, I see my life heading back to school
maybe this time round, I won't play the class fool!

Star Song

Even if this life ends one day,
Don't worry for me, I'll be here.
Don't cry, it breaks the heart,
That I no longer have.

We used to walk across the bridge all day,
Simply laughing along, sing a few songs.
That day seemed to come to soon, like it was a coincidence,
Right as I pulled out a new song for us to enjoy.

Standing up, looking out to the sunset,
I sang the first verse,
"When I pass away, will we still be connected?
When I pass over the stars, will your warmth be there?"

As if the time was too short, it had come to this,
Even now, my spirit seems to feel the same pain as then,
When I fell over onto the ground,
The same familiar pain in my heart.

Now it's come to this, laying in a hospital bed,
And I can't seem to speak to you.
I forcefully rip off the mask, just to say
"I love you."

Even now, when my spirit is all that remains of what I have left,
I promise she will still be there for you, in my place for now,
Because when we meet again someday, we can laugh,
And finish that one song that we started that day.

Betch Please, Really

I simply love being me for I am so good at everything step into my city and they will tell you who is King one day when I am hungry I will swallow everything then and only then shall I inherit the stuff I dream even then I promise not to settle for satisfaction at any instant half a second I could spring into full action so go against me? please, you do not even measure up to half of the goodness that I hold tight like my treasure still spreading rumors about me to try and destroy my life can't believe I let myself get beat by a stripper and my self-intended knife try and say I'm gay even though we both know that isn't the truth just ask any woman I been with if they ever needed proof they'll say I was the cream of the crop as they took it all night knowing I just may never stop I own the status of a legend now what you got left to say when I bring it twenty-four seven?

Restless

numb of dreams
cycles of memories
ageless harbour
or passion purity
timeless night
of hazel glanced whispers
in a soft mirror of scenes
of innocence and passions
mundi myth and walking hope or
perceptions
to a very ending spiral

Follow your heart

You've heard it said... "follow your heart"
For relentless desire bleeds for craven want
Yet when indecision weighs on life's many parts
Those opposed abandon not incessant haunt

Pin pricked light shines brighter
Through onyx colored scene
Weakness revealed when life is darkest
Specks of defect in the fortress of our need

Ones heart can be a complexity
An up hill struggle when obscurity feels blind
A quandary of perception in a house of mirrors
Reflections twisted by perplexities of the mind

Follow your heart yes live your dreams
Leave not your mind unreasoned
To walk the path less traveled leaves
A consequence of actions completed

So it is with indecision
To scale the weight of what's to come
When precious life hangs trembling in the balance
A calculated measure of the hearts true sum

Can we really overthink those choices we make
For somewhere every road has an end
Rugged or velvety destinations take root
And blossom where choices were stemmed

I've heard of double minded fools
Tossed like waves in the sea
Perhaps it's simply this woman's folly
To think it couldn't happen to me

Oh to measure the value of dreams
Which to follow or leave for not
Simplicity frowns on passions extremes
Such answers must be skillfully wrought

I pray that with my every tomorrow
I'll be wiser than today
Knowing when it's time to seek the dream
And patient if I must wait

For now I wish but only
To know my own heart in truth
And weigh the scales of value correctly
Then follow with greater wisdom when in naivety's youth

The Magik Of Love

Reflections in the mirror were getting scary I could not carry the weight of my pain it almost took my life to learn to love again for I have made a friend somewhere along my long lost way I hope that I helped him just a fraction of how he helped me maybe that single thought is what finally gave me my peace enough to release so much stolen energy Now I am not afraid to walk where the streets are hot for I thrive in Hell's kitchen where the devil stirs my pot for I now have him quiet tame I sacrificed my dragons at the alter of my name and now you are my slaves any time I need I'll call upon my superhero's to come and rescue me like my Saint Toni who swept me off that bridge and showed my how a death can be the greatest reason to live for she was the seed to grow my Eden then a man from a foreign land gave me something in myself to believe in the magik of Love.

Never So Gracious

A full moon night to my delight what is so wrong with doing what's right nothing is right after so long no use in complaining time to move on The Dream Water one day might take me away farther from the comfort of familiarity I float on my back then shut my eyes my body now sinking into ocean arms open wide Now swallow your son back to his nature when he is no longer needed to stay here the next generation are dooming themselves they need my experience to guide them through hell Why should I bother on my own, I strive through I turn my back on the thought of bothering to save you alone in this world my, is it spacious I'm finally smiling, never so gracious.

Last Sonnet

Hither I stand, at crossroads,
And then I gaze, at the yonder end-
The vague horizon from where I began;
And all that I may ever deem
Is that- my days
Have been a waken dream.

Hither I stand, at the edge of my dream;
Then I wonder, at the depth of my trance-
An adventurous journey through the wondrous woods;
An idyllic stroll through the vicissitudinous meadow;
And from the final station as I depart,
All that I can ever say, is that
Perpetuation has been a rouge
Of fleeting phases of my life.

Sandy

I had a friend ,, from long ago
We were only young you know
She was my best friend
At least that's what I thought
We did everything together
I liked her a lot !

But then one day
I had to leave for school
Though I wish I did not
Cause I missed her a lot
Then one day I came home
When I called out to for her
She did not answer me
I looked for her high & low!

But then I heard one day
From the TV news man
That she had met 3 bad men
And they took her away
She is with the angels now
For it could not be any other way
And I know she waits for me
Cause she was always that way !!!

I moved away from home, age 16, up to Oregon to get my degree in child psychology & teaching, come home at 18. had a dream that Sandy and I went to a house party "both of us age 18" then she went into another room with 3 men. So I stood there & knocked forever on the door. Sandy never came out. This is a TRUE dream !
