The Game

The Game

They say that baseball is the game of life.

You have many chances to get it right.

If all at home is good and well, you'll try all you can to get home again.

If all is not well and you don't get home you'll still have more chances to get home and win, but than you will have to depend on a friend.

If your friend strike out and you don't get home, it's not the end, the game is not over, and life's just beginning...

Another friend at the home, if he strike out than THAT is THAT.

Now you have your last friend at the Mat.

You want to get home and THAT IS A FACT, just make sure this time your friend can BAT.

When you get home you'll scream and SHOUT.
It's safer at home than being OUT.

Do they play baseball in heaven

Do they play baseball in heaven.
Wonder if you know if they play baseball in heaven?
Think they have a baseball field in the clouds?
Does guys like Mickey mantle and Frank Robins on.
Does the great Babe Ruth hit home runs?
Are there teams like the Yankees or the braves up there.
I know God must have a team he likes.
I want to find out if they are the angels.
Do you think that I will be able to play with the cool ones?
I know they must have a hall of fame with guys like Joe and Stan

Poem 2 You

If I had to live a day without you in my life
it would be like Living without the warmth of the Golden sunshine and light,
It would always be a rainy day without you

Blue skies that are clear and bright
Would be out of sight only
Grey clouds and storms in view
Without a dear and special friend like you.
A colourful and cheerful rainbow
Would simply not exist if you were not
Apart of my life.

You Bring me Laughter, Sunshine,
Warmth and Light making my
Life a pleasure and Real Delight adding sunny
Happy hours and filling all my days
With warm hot rays of summer sunshine and showers of love and
Friendship Divine
I want you in my Life Always.

Two thumbs up

Two Thumbs Up.
My granddaughter she plays baseball.
One day she had a game I went to see her.
She got up to bat and hit the ball hard and far.
She yelled from first that one is for you grandpa.
The next time she came to bat she hit the ball farther than before.
She headed to second I yelled keep going. As she rounds to third
I gave her a thump up.
She headed to home and I wishing so hard.
But the umpire yelled ,"You're out!"
She was looking at me with tears in her eyes.
But I still gave her two thumbs up.
To my MVP.

She gave life. She is a wife.
She is a mother and she is a
She is a sister, a survivor to the

Appreciate her, we don't dare.
Ask her worries, we don't care.
Wipe away her tears, they are
invisible as air.

She works, cooks and cleans.
She laughs, helps comfort, and
hides her pain.
When you struggle she pulls you through.

All this is HER and what do we
Complain and create a mess.
Provide stress and leave her
feeling depressed.
Push her away and ignore her
Tell her she is nothing without
thinking twice.

She was raped, tortured and
Told she was nothing and would
always be used
Just for pleasure forget her pain.

She swallows her pride, put her
feelings aside.
Does as you need in order for
you to be free.
Ignores your ignorance and
tolerates your flaws.
You call her *****, slut, hoe and tramp.
She answers with pride, dignity
and a complete loss of self.
You call her nothing.
I call her strong, smart, sensual,
caring, giving, surviving,
tolerant and powerful.

I call her WOMAN!!

Memory Lane

Everyone does it time to time in each day
From your careless mistakes to a child at play
Sneaking the babysitter's cigarettes
Having that stray dog follow you home, then asking to keep it as a pet
A trip to the lake on the fourth of July
Then come to realize, thirty plus years have gone by
These type of reflections are kept in a special place
Some result in tears, but most bring a smile to the face
Some regret, some bad, they are related with a degree of disdain
These are all a walk down memory lane
Your bicycle has a flat, your first do it yourself tire repair kit
The shoestring that was used to repair your favorite baseball mitt
Putting playing cards on the spokes of the bike to make it roar
Mom yelling at you for coming in and out of the front door
Summer vacation, kickball until dark
Cutting through neighborhood yards causing the dogs to bark
Losing a baseball down a street drain
Does this take you back to a stroll down memory lane
Selling glass bottles at the store to get a treat
Gong home for supper, disappointed, it's Thursday night, night of the mystery
Friday a trip to the drive in
Summer is just about over, how depressing, it's school time again
