I must Carpe Diem

I used to live life full of dreams
Planning, for many years to come.
Where I will be, when I will go,
A future that was filled with fun.

Till the day my life was shattered.
Till the day when the hammer struck.
All my dreams now torn asunder
Nowhere to hide, nowhere to duck.

I stood my battles, fought the fight
We gathered and said our goodbyes,
Yet through all of your brave faces,
I could still hear the silent cries.

Last Will and Testament written,
Everything important was said,
“I love you,” still that magic word,
I’d sleep in peace tucked in my bed.

Then something magical happened,
I came back from places of dread.
Now more a part of the living,
Each day I get stronger instead.

Now I know what’s most important
Enjoy precious moments each day,
Learned not to live for tomorrows
That just might not come anyway.

I enjoy each sip of coffee,
Watching leaves turn colours and fly,
Kisses from my sweet little dog,
Every time I see a blue sky.

The music of my Children’s voices,
Love of family never ends,
Carpe Diem, just seize the day,
That is my new motto my friends.

James 5:15
And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up.

Living for the moment makes everything more special.

Her Heart Thaws

Her Heart Thaws

Ice crystals in her heart soon departed
as she met another very broken hearted
Gentle man destroyed by very dark witch
untrue to feed her gigantic greedy itch

Now bloody swords have been withdrawn
sun emerges, wind sings a sweet song
Old scars vanishing without a trace
smiles sprouting upon each happy face

Scales of justice now right old wrongs
joys spring forth in melodies and songs
Life rewards those that seek true love
with sweet blesses from the heaven above

Lonely Dreams

I never knew following dreams could be this lonely,
But up on the hill, looking back, thank God I'm not the old me.
If the tears will fall, let them be;
I believe this is God's plan, follow your dreams.

I think back

When I think back...
I see your eyes on me across the room,
The way your lips slowly curve into a happy smile,
Your strong arms holding a child,
 And I think back...
Do you remember being the "Big Man" on campus back then?
Or the easy ways of the women you've held?
The loving hearts that you've shuttered and broke?
 And I think back...
Do you remember those secret games we once played?
Or the silent pleas to the Lord that you've made?
The loving family you've had and destroyed?
 And I think back...
And I think back to the way things are and smile,
And I think back to the way you were and I know,
And I think back to the man you've become and I love you,
 And I thank back...then I thank God.

Chief Roaring Eagle

He sits Alone, In the rising sun ; or is it a setting Moon?
With a birch bark Flute, a sadden Heart plays a very lonely tune
Go north, then west, says Chief Roaring Eagle, I’ll be with You soon

You can feel the tears of “Roaring Eagle” rolling down Your cheek
As he plays a forlorn melody ( of history ) his birch bark flute : sings bleak
For his Native American Ancestry : a Heritage where tribal Leaders “Speak”
Of Yesterdays, when canoes would travel the rivers, catching trout in the creek

In remembrance when Buffalo, Deer, roamed the plains, Salmon owned streams
When a Young Brave, became a man, Hunting in the Forest ; Alone with His dreams
Alone with the mysteries of Life with the voice of Forefathers’ forever heard screams
As the Flute sings to the barren forest of bygones,Chief Roaring Eagle’s Eye, Gleams

In Thanksgiving to the Almighty, the Song of Life , Continues to reassure the Living
The echoes of the birch bark flute reverberate through a dieing forest, ever Living
Go North, then West, to a new land where the Songbirds sing of LOVE: and Thrive
Where the melody of a birch bark Flute ; Sings to Nature we are now again “ ALIVE

Thanksgiving Celebrations

Time to foster your relations
With thanksgiving celebrations.
With family reminisce past,
All our love now remembering
Come together watch our hearts sing.
Nothing earthly will ever last,
Time to foster your relations
With thanksgiving celebrations.

If stumbling stones stand in your way
Remove them this Thanksgiving Day.
With family reminisce past,
Nothing earthly will ever last.
Time to foster your relations
With thanksgiving celebrations.

OUR MANY BLESSINGS

OUR MANY BLESSINGS
By the Poets Listed in the first comment

Life is full of wonderment and blessings well received.
The greatest gift, so well conceived, the freedom to believe.
Thanking God that in this glorious world He perceived.
There, stands today beauty and grandeur that awed we can achieve.
Our ancestors, many moons ago, the motherland did flee.
Enriching lives, harvest, and family in this land of milk and honey.
Gratitude after we gathered the fruits of our great labors.
Holding hands with love we pray with family, friends, and neighbors.
Thankfulness for waking to feel warm sun on our face, all hail.
The wind's breeze, melodies in green trees from sweet nightingales,
You cast off my chains; you set me free, through true eyes, now I see.
Each dawn I give thanks I am free! Thank you, Lord from the real me.
Thank you for my mind and heart and trusting me from the start.
For the sun, the moon, the stars, and all your creatures who take part.
Also for things in me once damaged, now mending a new start.
To live this life, day to day, with the minimum of fuss-
We believe in many things, that the joys of life bring us.
From majestic mountains, to the tiniest of bugs,
Wondrous bountiful God, created these for poetry.
I am sending GOOD energy, to my friends, and hugs.
My thanks are carried on waves over the November seas.
To friends from afar who grace my life with comfort and ease.
One unending relationship with God and His wonderful love...
Four sons, the gifts given to me from Heaven high above,
I am so thankful to be gifted with so many different things.
And being healthy under loving angel's caring wings
One great blessing: I begin to see the world was more than me.
Methodical. Prodigal. More logical, I found the great light love.
Within our thankful hearts today, a prayer is softly said,
Blessing all who join with us as we eat and share our bread.
Our lives are enriched by family and friends that we love.
With grateful hearts, we thank our generous Father above.
The wonders of your world, Lord, Earthbound and on the wing,
Our hearts are filled with happiness for every blessed thing.
So, thank you, Lord for everything that upon us you bestowed.
Especially for your love dear, Lord that bountifully has flowed.
                                                                               Amen

Thank you

Thank you – Zamreen Zarook

Thank you is a sweet word in the nature,
You may be a guy of adventure,
May be you are a person of agriculture,
What matters is your architecture.

Never forget the people, who guided you,
In no degree neglect who were with you,
Don’t ever overlook a creature, who gave a smile to you,
Because, you will meet them above you.

People forget the past due to selfishness,
They have no time to remember their unawareness,
Society, most of the times behave in awfulness,
They will understand when their lives come in to bitterness.

Be a person to thank and remember,
Don’t consider them as December,
Because, you might need them in November,
So, always be as a good subscriber.

Let's Praise the Lord

Let’s praise the Lord!
All you people of the land!
Let’s praise him with every
Instrument we have on hand!

Let’s shout praises to his
wonderful name!
A message of rejoicing,
we need to proclaim!

Let’s come before him,
with love from our hearts!
This is where a victorious
life really starts!

Let’s bring him our thanks
and appreciation!
And sing of his tender mercy
and wondrous salvation!

Let’s bring him a heart filled
With hope and cheer!
The coming of the lord,
is so very near!

We bless the father, the spirit
and son!
Through the blood of Jesus,
we have overcome!

Some Day

Someday, you will know that
  I loved you even through,
I had to leave so fast I never
  wanted it this way.

Someday, you will know that
  my heart broke in to
un repairable pieces that day
no super glue can mend it.

Someday, you will know that
  the rain drops that fall
down from the sky above are
  my tears of losing you.

Someday, you will know that
  I never stopped thinking of
you both, I went to Parks
looking for you all the time.

Someday, you will know that
I fought so hard to find you
guys and tried to get you back,
but I could not find you anywhere.

Someday, you will know that
  I never forgot you ever.
Every Holiday, every Birthday
  my heart crumbled even more.

Someday, you will know that
  the things said about me
were untrue by the people who
  were suppose to protect you.

Someday you will know that
   I missed your growing up
and I miss you now seeing you
   as grown adults with family.

Some day, you will know that
   the ocean holds the many
tears I cried over losing the two
of you I thought I would drown.

Someday, you will know that
God never wanted it to this way.
He wanted us to be a family but it
   wasn't possible.

Someday, you will know that
   I told everyone I had 2
handsome Sons who got in the
middle of a battle that wasn't theirs.

Someday, you will know that
I am and always will be
your Mother and we are bonded
   together by blood.

Someday, you will know that
I had to let you go because it
was in your best interest at the time.
It had been taken out of hands.

Someday, You will know that
things happen and we are not
to question why but just to accept
and never stop looking and loving.

Someday, you will know that
no matter what they said to
you about me I always Loved you.

Someday, you will know that
I have never been the seem
with out in my life but never for get
you are and forever my Sons.

Someday, you will know that
I kept your baby books and the
cards you made for me so long ago.
That I am so Proud of you both.

Someday, you will know that
you know, you were, you are
and always be loved, missed and
    welcome in my someday.

***This Holiday Season I wrote this Poem for my 2 Sons as
a Dedication to what they mean to me! This is for my
Sons and their Families on this Thanksgiving 2010.
I love you always,
  your Mom forever more,

A Prayer For Strength To Be Yourself

It's hard doing something different.
It's difficult staying yourself.
In a world so accustomed to conformity,
It feels nearly impossible to be unique
As the one He created you to be.
How do we find the strength?
How do we find the courage?
How do we find the bravery?
Where do we defeat fear?
Well, He's hanging on The Cross
Giving life to you and me.
Thank You Jesus!
Let us not forget
With Christ,
Nothing is impossible,
For with God,
All things are possible!
Thank You Father!
Thank You!
We give our lives to You!
We are Yours!
Praise You forever
And forevermore!
In Jesus' Name,
We pray,
Amen!

The face of love

Trying prayer, realising

 it doesn't stop right there.

You say a prayer and hope

 that its enough, that your

 words of love have reached

 Heaven above. Just stop and

think how we have asked? Was

it behind a mask of sorrow and

 shame.Thinking we are not good

enough to receive a blessed gain.

We have it all wrong as its what

Jesus has already done. None are

worthy its Gods free gift of grace.

So raise your head, truly open your

eyes. Look up and realise love does

have a face, thank you Jesus

A Painful Thanksgiving Night

A Painful Thanksgiving Night… As I sit here this Thanksgiving night I can do nothing else but write. My family’s in the other room So, why do I feel all this gloom? When we arrived late last night I thought for sure I would be alright. Even though it took everything in me To take that 3 hour drive you see. Each and every time I come All I want to do is run. Run away and never turn back A family bond I sure do lack. A mother’s love is what I crave But a hug and money is all she gave. My sisters and I we try and try To understand mother as the years go by. But nothing about her ways makes sense She’s cold and hard and always on the defense. Through the years she’s done much wrong But the love of my mother I still do long. Though the bad memories of her will never erase I prayed through my kids they might be replaced. Maybe they would chase away her pain And my love for her would not be in vain. When they’re around her it’s clear to see There’s nothing left, no mystery. Who she is; is what she’ll be All I see is a repeat of history. A history filled with hurt and pain To protect my children I must break the chain. This chain has bound me in so many ways It almost claimed my life - on several days. Lay

My Future Generation

I can act insane
But DO NOT
Make me feel worthless

I belong in God’s family
He will bless my future generation

Don’t punish me for
Being myself –
Don’t envy my glee

I can act like an
Adult, but I’d
Prefer to have joy…

Not stress…
That piles upon us in our
Everyday lives

Being childlike is

A rare beauty –

No one prizes it…

No one came across it…

In this lifetime…

I can laugh all day
I can make you smile
If you’d accept my
Childlike dreams of mine
Don’t treat me like a sick swine

Renew my young heart
Give me the ability
To kill the old man…

I have my place in God’s family
He’ll be adored and glorified
We’ll exchange prayers and hugs
By my future generation

I beg of you –
Don’t kill my childlike mentality
I’ll behave myself…
I’m positively sure that I’ll make you happy

I’ll still have pieces of a child in me

And pass it on to my future generation…

Time to Go in loving memory of my mother

My mom was a strong woman, and stubborn too,
Yet she had a soft side, between me and you.
That side she would show, when you least expected,
But let me tell you, she was well respected.

Mom was quite unique, and was one of a kind,
She was set in her ways, so keep that in mind.
The youngest of nine, she had gotten her way,
Spoiled by her siblings’, almost every day.

Right out of high school, she had married my dad,
Blessed with three children, plus fifty years they had.
They both were hard workers, in all that they did,
My dad taught himself, from when he was a kid.

My mom was a smoker, for forty-six years,
Some day it would happen, she’d face all her fears.
Lung cancer she had, and inoperable too,
Her time on this earth, would be shortened we knew.

Radiation and Chemo, had done their thing,
Remission set in, tears of joy it did bring.
We would go out at night, to shop and to talk,
I knew she enjoyed, getting out for a walk.

Two years had gone by, after Thanksgiving Day,
Her pain had returned, but was afraid to say.
She’d lie on the couch; it was strength she did lack,
We knew in our hearts, that the cancer came back.

We shared lots of laughter, but many a tear,
I tried to assure her, she’d nothing to fear.
“Please watch over your dad, this one thing I ask.”
“I know it will be, quite a difficult task.”

One morning in March, Hospice called us to say,
You may want to come, for she’s slipping away.
For the night before, mom told me to stay home,
“Be there for your kids, you can call me by phone.”

When we all arrived, for a moment she woke,
Her eyes said it all, not a word had she spoke.
We stayed by her bedside, just holding her hand,
“It’s time to let go mom, we all understand”.

A few days had passed, not ready to let go,
For it had been raining, but letting up slow.
The sun began shining, the clouds disappeared,
Opening the heavens, for mom’s time has neared.

We gathered together, her forehead we kissed,
Whispering so softly, how much she’d be missed.
“Your time has arrived mom, just follow the light”,
She left us so peaceful, she gave up her fight.

It was time to drive home, in the car we got,
Then something had happened, while leaving the lot.
Huge drops of rain falling, it had to be fate.
They were tears of joy; she was at heaven’s gate.

In God's Hands

I am malleable in God’s hands,
No one can shape me like He can,
He never gives me anything that I can’t handle,
He always knows what He is doing,
No one can compare to Him,
He is the father I never had,
I can truly trust, love, and honor Him,
Because He made me,
He loves me,
And I love Him,
I will never be able to put my heart into someone else’s hands with such trust!
Because He is love!
And I am His.
- Inspired by Jeremiah 18:6

                                                  Jeremiah 18:6 NIV

A Childs Thanksgiving Prayer

Dear Lord, we gather this day to give thanks for what we’ve got, For the blessings that you’ve granted us whether realized or not. For the blessings of family love and our feelings for each other, Even though I will confess to you that I can’t stand my little brother. He never does his fair share when there’s work around here to do, I’ll get back to that situation later and fill the details in for you. I love you Lord for all the gifts; excuse me if I should gush, I’m only asking for a bicycle today to avoid the Christmas rush. I’d like to add a special thanks for giving me a second chance, For softening up my teacher’s heart, I’m thanking you in advance. And dear Lord if you don’t mind as long as I have you on the line, I’m sure that you’ll forgive me Lord because I know that you’re divine. I’d like to ask for one thing more before I let you of the hook, Next year before Thanksgiving comes, could you teach my mom to cook? Because her gravy is too lumpy and the turkey is way too dry, And the only dessert that we have today is store bought pumpkin pie. It would be nice if later we didn’t have to hear my grandpa snore, And keep grandma from drinking wine until she can’t get up from the floor. And watch over my big sis when she’s out with her boyfriend, Dad is sure that they’re doing it so why should we pretend? I guess that’s all I have right now so Lord please be on your way, And when you’re at the neighbor’s house don’t believe a word they say. In case you don’t hear from me again if I should disappear without a trace, I want to say just what a privilege it was to offer up Thanksgiving Grace.

Work

Work.
Toil.
The pain I put in the ground.
For such a precious thing.
Corn.
The family enjoys their meal.
They plant their leftover kernels.
And wait for me to tend to them.
Work.
An endless cycle in which happiness is born.

A Ride With Mom

A Ride With Mom

All alone in bed
Tonight I am dreaming of the dead

Mom and I were in the car driving
I had no idea where we would be arriving

It was a sunny day
Mom didn’t have much to say

Then suddenly I awoke
This ride was no joke

All these questions in my head
This always happens to me with a visit from the dead

What did Mom want to tell me
Did she just want to share Thanksgiving Glee

So now Mom’s presence in my dream
Sends me to my desk to write down my mental stream

I haven’t dream’t of Mom in years
Not since the Funeral Fears

It’s Two AM in the mourn
Writing this poem is this how Love is born

I will tell my new Lady Friend
About my dream and what I have penned

Did Mom want to hear about Caroline
The Spanish Mexican Beauty who is Divine

Long Luscious Black Hair
A Beautiful Face Beyond Compare

An Angel’s Voice
I have no choice

Her spell is starting to take hold of me
The sight of her can send any man to his knee

Her aroma is intoxicating
I think she is much more than a Fall Fling

Saturday I will give her a purple and white rose
This woman has driven me to write prose

Well I guess it is my turn to take a Female Chance
Maybe we will both find romance

Is this why Mom took me for a ride tonight
To show me my search for Love is finally in sight

Only time will tell if Mom is right
That Caroline will be my darling delight

The Generations

The time has come to step aside.
It’s been a very lovely ride.
I trained my darling daughter well.
It’s she who rings the dinner bell
on holidays and lets me rest.
She aces each and every test.

Proving herself every bit as able
as I to set Thanksgiving table,
she feeds her twenty-two hungry guests
without a sign of being stressed.
So I feel needed, I surmise,
she allowed me to make the pies.

She never loses her sweet smile.
For each grandchild she stops awhile
to hug, to listen and to praise
as I did in the olden days.
Daughter, mother and grandmother,
she’s as good at one role as the other.

The day will come I know it’s true
when she will give soup ladle to
her own sweet daughter next in line.
She’ll step aside this child of mine,
to sit and rest and watch her daughter
do as her loving mother taught her.

I watch her now with love and pride
this woman whom I helped to guide
to the super mother she became.
Her daughters now are in the game.
They’re teaching the new generation
to be the next great mom sensation.

And so it has been through the years,
moms giving love and shedding tears,
each passing on her mothering lore
learned from mothers who came before.

SIMPLY ME

My nails are plainly white
My face with make-up but light
My hair fixed on simple align
My clothes on comfortable flight

Not that I don't care to fix
Nor do I want to match and mix
It's because It's not in me to impress
"Suitable to occasion", that's how I dress

Though, lots have said I'm a beauty
I thank but still be in simplicity
I want to be liked just the way I am
Anyhow, I'm flexible enough to change

Opening myself to suggestions
Criticisms even I take to attention

By Our Side

By my side:
The tallest mountain,
The calmest pond,
The purest stream;
My hope and strength,
Faith and love;
The Lord,
Our God,
Always by our side

Jesus, Please Take Over Me

You've fallen down again;
How can you let darkness win?
You just scraped your knee,
You didn't break your leg.
It will all be okay;
I will give you strength.
Brush it off, my child;
Come and take my hand.
Let me help you up again;
You will be okay.
I have always been with you,
And I always will be.
I am by your side,
But this time,
Will you allow me to take the lead?

I have fallen victim so many times
To nobody's fault except only mine.
I will ask for forgiveness and have faith,
Even though I feel like I am not saved.

THE LOVE, OF THE CARING PEOPLE

There’s moments when the dawn of a new day causes us to be
Ungrateful, unkind, and very selfish. Often times I discover that we (those of us who deem
Ourselves to be sound mentally, physically, and spiritually, and grace with understanding as
We laid claim to having unconditional love) are not those things we think we are.

The evidence to these truths to be without doubt, is visiting with the sweetness and the
Perpetuating joy of The Caring People in Rosenberg, Texas. Their loving hearts have
been woven from a Heavenly Fabric, which was created by God, Himself.

They love you with a majestic manner. They know what we so easily forget. Their
Love teaches us how to love unconditionally. It’s a privilege to be apart of The Salvation
Army Harbor Light Men’s Choir, in Houston, Texas, and travel to sing the songs of Zion, to these
Royal brothers and sisters. The Caring People embrace us with such eminent love

That causes the heart to weep with joy and the mind to leap as gazelle's. To really understand
These precious souls is to know what it is to give God Almighty, His Thanksgiving for giving
Us the honor to go before His wondrous sons and daughters at The Caring People, in
Rosenberg, Texas.

WE LOVE YOU ALL WITH AN AGAPA LOVE.
GOD BLESS EACH OF YOU ABUNDANTLY. FOR THE PRECIOUS LOVE OF THE
CARING PEOPLE. THANK YOU FOR LOVING EACH OF US SO DEEPLY.

My Picture Frame

MY PICTURE FRAME

In my picture frame, I count nine
Standing neatly in a row
Two are hers and two are mine
And that accounts for four

Two others are a lady and me
Two pastors make it eight
And that is all that there should be
I count nine – but wait

The ninth one is Christ Jesus
A reflection from His picture on the wall
It's as if He's there to bless us
As we answer to His call

We are there to join two families
So they all shall be as one
And live together in close harmony
After all is said and done

That was eighteen years ago
We're so glad Christ Jesus came
To join us all together
And be in my picture frame

	Curtis Moorman
	24 November 2011

This is a picture of my wedding day 18 years ago when two families were joined
together in the sight of our Heavenly Father to become one family with Him as
the focal point. That union is still intact today with five (soon to be six) additions.
Writing this poem on Thanksgiving day gives me great pleasure as I give Thanks
and Praise to the One who made it possible.

The Puzzle

I don't have all the pieces together;
This puzzle is just too much,
But God already has it figured out
As He is solving this from above.

Gratitude

Mans best friend cowers in the corner
with her family by her side... desperation...
smoke and flames had invaded their peaceful home...
when all looked hopeless,
off the hinges the door crashed down
with smoke swirling uncontrolled...
through the black darkness,
a hero emerged...

A beautiful picture of humanity was born
another chance at life had come...
a loving vision of her family running through an open field, young and free,
in gratitude...
she turned to the burly Firefighter,
and with a lick to his face
her thanksgiving was shown...

A family thrives.....

A Man Stood Part III

A Man Stood part III Story/poem A man stood by his window, thinking of what went wrong. He was old and alone. He has two daughters, but they don't get along with him. the one close to him, hasn't talked to him in over two years. He tries to concentrate now on his new found daughter - But she has a life of her own. In nine years since we found him - she has seen him five times. She talked to him on and off on the phone, but not much. I saw him four times. He had changed a lot. He said that he wished that I would live there close to him. I lived over 1000 miles away and to my husband - I was faithful. In 2006 he ask to meet my husband. He wanted to know what, kind of man I had married. I told him, I had married a good man. We had to go up there for my granddaughter's wedding, so we went to see him. My husband also wanted to meet him too. To my surprise, they liked each other. To me that was strange, but then - life is strange. My husband and I came back home. Both of them kepted on talking on the phone. I talked to him too on and off. In November of 2009 Thanksgiving Day, my husband passed away. That was a very hard year for me, since I had heart surgery, earlier in the year. My daughter and I went up North to see the family in 2010. We stopped by to visit with him. He told me then how much he had loved me and how he had made a mistake many years ago. But the past can not be changed. I never saw him again. We all have a date with destiny. He passed away three days after Thanksgiving in 2012. Sometimes he would sit by his window too. This man was the love of my life, but our love could never be. now I will end this chapter of my life. A man won't stand, or sit by his window anymore. The end...
01/2013 written by Lucilla M. Carrillo Comments: All that is written here is true and part of my Life. When you reach a certain age, you have to have a past and a story to tell. The first two chapters I had already written, but I needed to write one more. This was very hard for me to do. I hope you have enjoyed it. Thanks for reading.

Melancholy Mood, Last Less

Those pitiless days ’re enough to puzzle the compassionate mind.
A phenomenal gesture, soon sued to have downplayed the legit,
That even the impartial impact was bandit with words.
Not so funny ’re those days
That devils 're clad in bigotry .
And soon ready enough
To poison soups
Meant for the entourage.
Pitiful quill perhaps has taken over this weakening wit.
Now struggles continue.
Exclusive parcels to all the greenery gestures.
Your compassionate touch is well noted
And well felt.
Thank you so much for the deliverance.

A Woman Like You

Always I have dreamed of loving a woman like you ,
So kind and understanding in all of the things you do.
Everyday you are always the same so full of life,
Making me so proud the day you become my wife.
Never do I worry when things do not go my way,
Only words of encouragement you would have to say.
To hear you laugh or to see your beautiful smile ,
Stays with me in my thoghts for such a long while.
I am forever thinking of the happiness you bring me,
Confirming our lives together was always meant to be .
Every night I Thank my Lord for how special you've been,
I find myself a very Blessed man for what he did.
A person could ask for no more when it comes to love ,
Especially when there's no doubt it was made from above.

Mom Is Just Mom (Triolet Poem)

Mom is just mom when she wants to be,
I wish she was more independant in life.
What I write is the truth, she'd probably agree.

Maybe she didn't do a good job as a wife,
Put down the alcohol and look towards God.
Because He is the one who will make things right.

This past Thanksgiving I didn't sense your love
You didn't cook Turkey, no family was present.
I left and you didn't even give me a loving hug.

Since I became a Muslim, I'm not feeling your presence,
You also act different in front of my girl,
I guess mom is just mom, that's my life's lesson.

Hopefully situations will get better for you
And one day you'll realize in this world what is true.

This Thanksgiving Day

This Thanksgiving Day... During this time known as Thanksgiving Day. I hope you'll give thanks and pray. A prayer of thanks for everything God has given. He has blessed us in the way we've been livin'! Our country is blessed like no other. God has supplied our "bread and butter." He's given us the freedom, we've all enjoyed. Be thankful for your food, home and being employed. For those who've endured hardship... Thank God too! It's no secret how much he loves YOU! We find in the Bible... God clearly said; "I've never seen the righteous forsaken, Nor their children begging for bread." Thanks be to Jesus, for his love, mercy and grace. And for making my heart, "his special place." I am blessed and thankful to Jesus indeed. He's given me salvation and supplies my every need. I thank God for this special day in November. Thanksgiving is a day... I will always remember! AN ABUNDANT HOLIDAY

Everything on Thanksgiving differs in its decor:
walls painted bright orange as a clown's hair
to match the tablecloth as thin as linen...
while the festive atmosphere resonates again!

" Before you start enjoying your food, bow your heads
and pray; don't take for granted what you are about to eat...
think of those people who stand outside shivering in rags,
sniffing the savoring vapors of that turkey...oh, what a treat!"

A rich home is a poor man's wish as he begins to smell and drool,
thinking of all the delicacies laid on those tables
decorated with expensive roses and candles;
is he one the wealthy ones who risked all to remain a pitiful fool?

Will I see his passing shadow drifting over the brightly-lit lawn?
Will he peak in and have enough courage to knock?
I will open the door and take off his long frock...
give him a big plate of food, make him smile and erase his frown!

A Thanksgiving Wish

I wish I could sit ‘round the corner,
And take in all of the clamor;
I’d hear laughter and conversations,
I would hear what really matters!

I would hear dear familiar voices,
Distinctive laughs I would know right away.
Dinnerware clanging with silverware,
And the smells of Thanksgiving Day!!!

I would thank my God for family,
Both at home and those miles away.
If I could just sit ‘round the corner,
That would be a spectacular day.

What you have, when gathered together,
Is a gift every heart longs to share.
The gift of just loving each other,
And the prize of each person that’s there.

Though I’m not sitting there ‘round the corner,
My heart is most certainly there.
My love, adoration and thankfulness,
Is in spirit, at everyone’s chair.

I love you dear family, and send my best wishes:
For holiday health, wealth and mirth.
Tis Thanksgiving Day! Thank God for right now!
It’s the best seat to have on the earth.

Thankfulness

Thankfulness: the opposite of complaining
This isn’t going to come easily, it will take a little training
It’s the concept of being content with all that we own
And being grateful for all the love that God has shown
We so often think that our lives are so rough
Because we are so focused on getting, because we think we don’t have enough
But stop and take a look around
You’re sitting alive in luxury safe and sound
We really don’t understand how fortunate we are
We have food, water, a house, and usually more than one car
There are millions upon millions of people less fortunate
People that we don’t share our fortune with
There are people out there who have absolutely nothing
And this is for real, I’m not bluffing
They’re not sure where they are going to get their next meal
Take a minute and imagine how that must feel
C’mon, let that sink in
And that’s only one place I can begin
So many people are completely broke, struggling to survive, have failing health, live in way, and have nowhere to live
And you’re trying to say that YOU have nothing to give?
We sit here in our beautiful homes, brand new clothes, full of food, iphone in hand
While there are people out there who are too sick and weak to stand
Now to this, how are we going to react? Cause this sure isn’t fiction, it’s 100% fact
Are we going to ignore this and just sit around?
Are we comfortable just sitting in the background?
I say as children of God we need to take action
We need to get out there, not being swayed by every little distraction
Serving and giving generously to others doesn’t follow “The American Dream”
But maybe that’s not the right way to live, as though it may seem
I say it’s time for us to lay down our pride
Are you going to serve? It’s your turn to decide
We are all one body, we all have the same worth
That’s true for all the people here on earth
By Jesus we are called to love and not just sit around
Cause when we die, we don’t want to be just another corpse in the ground
In James chapter one we are called to serve the orphans and widows in their distress
We know exactly what to do, we don’t need to guess
Now this subject I really want to address
And my feelings, I want to express
If we were really thankful for all that we own
We would be OK to step out of our comfort zone
And if we are truly grateful
We would serve others in any way we are able
By doing this, we express our care for those who need it
That we can go out and DO something, we actually believe it
I may have just rambled on, but I wanted to make a point
But now you know my personal viewpoint
Now I’m not just talking to you, this also applies to me
So often I don’t fill the role I was called to be
But I believe that thankfulness isn’t just an emotion, it requires action to make it true
So now here’s the big question, what are you going to do?
Are you going to get out there or continue to stand on the sideline?
Are you going to be absolutely thankful or continue to whine?
You can try to convince yourself that people are fine
But think about it while on that $50 meal you dine
You can help change a life for pennies a day
That’s right, only one dollar a month you have to pay
“Dollar for the Poor” is an organization that’s making a change
Only one dollar a month? That just sounds strange
But it’s true, they’re making an impact
What if we all heard this and could properly react? One dollar a month and you can change a life
For that little donation, you can save someone from a cycle of strife
But it’s not just about money, it’s also about giving your time
This is real talk, not just a pantomime
There are so many things we aren’t thankful for every day
What if all of it was suddenly stripped away? Could we still be thankful and love God without all our stuff?
Will his constant love and providing actually be enough?
Our thankfulness shouldn’t be based off our prosperity or wealth
We so often blame God when loved ones have failing health
We should be thankful for the lives that we already live
Because God’s perfect gift of salvation is the best anyone can give
So don’t forget today, offer God your true thanks for life and your daily bread
Because apart from him, we would be left for dead

MAS come on down front you have been chosen by the frozen tender tundra to eat the
apple i can give her. Staccatto beating in the background leaning to the south moving in the
night polish wont make green apple to shine. The love GOD has for all of us in is SON Jesus is
also inside us in our Souls inside our Spirit. He did this even though none of us are worth this
a freely given gift. Something that opens up inside us each and every day. Better then the
food we eat the apple red and green. Better then what people give on Christmas Day the
packages wrapped and placed underneathe the tree dont open that dont shake it up dont let
Johnny see. Perhaps its all the things that boy has stored up all year long some new toy he
saw on television laying on the lawn. He never picks it up now or plays for very long. This
Christmas please think of how the Son Of God must feel when we ignore his gift to us. I feel
so guilty of his love inside this green forgotten apple in the bucket in the snow. Sorrow not
the answer the apple catches worms so the food stored in the bucket doesnt turn to molded
into love when I get hungry having none I go to cuppoard never barren there. I cannot eat
much fruit anymore but mix the trail will fill me up when there is none to find in town. For
CHristmas is two missing weeks after Thanksgiving missing one. SUnday on the November
twenty nine untill Friday December Eightteenth then back for three more days then Monday
the eleventh of January I solidify for more solid days activities perhaps the apple won. Bright
red and polished up for teachor loves. Look for me with love.

Dear God: I Can Never Thank-you Enough...

Dear God: I Can Never Thank-You Enough...

Life is Challenging for most Our Days,
We Focus only On our Struggles – Don’t We?
Well Today I Endeavour to Thank-you for Your Ways,
I Hope this will Inspire Others to Join Me !

Oh Give Thanks for the Gift of the Poetry Line,
The Invention of the Ball Point Pen to Create,
Abilities to Share these Heart-felt Thoughts of Mine,
Oh May these Thoughts in my Fellow Man Stimulate.

Creation Alone is Enough for Us to Magnify your Fame,
Stars at Night in all Their Glory with Shapes to Delight,
Flowers I am Thankful for with Unique Beauty of which I cannot Name,
Mountains so High and Valleys so Low everything in Balance just Right.

How about my Vision the Ability to See Alone such a Wonder,
Or with Ears to Hear Rushing Water and Birds Singing,
My Nose to Smell ALL the Treats so Many Kitchens have to Ponder,
Easter Christmas Thanksgiving to Name a Few Good Tidings Bringing.

How do you Write and Finish a Poem of Thankfulness at All ?
With a Mind so Simple Finite and Common Such as Mine…
The Answer is We Don’t this is a Beginning to an Eternal Wall,
Oh God I am So Sorry that I Rarely Ever Give You Time !

Written by William Arthur Tell

Lu 6:35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and

Thank God

As we tuck into our food.
I think we should take a
moment to ask "where does
our food come from in future
and past?"

What source makes
it on going, able to last? Our food
comes from the store, yet before
it comes through any door?

Wholesome bread comes from
wheat, planted in the ground in the
form of a seed. Yet before the farmer
sows the seed we need to think on that
little seed!

A seed in time becomes a
life giving vine. We are all in God's hands
its truly sublime. Upon the earth that
God made we can be saved. This is
what we need to fully appreciate.

I love you mom

I smile as I remember the holidays past
The table full
The smells are wonderful
You are in total control
Like a little general you command your kitchen
And all who dare to enter
I love you mom

I smile now for another Thanksgiving
The table full
The smells are wonderful
But the general fights to hold on to some control
I love you mom

The eyes question
You make yourself busy
You need to feel needed
I love you mom

You question many times what you are supposed to cook
And I smile when I get there and you cooked the same as I
You tire quickly but tough as they come you work diligently
Until all is done
I love you mom

We’re a little too fast
A little too loud
Your conversations have fallen quiet
But having all of us around you
I can read in your face is what puts you at ease
It gives much peace
I love you mom

Did you have a good Thanksgiving
Others will ask
It was spent with my mom
So I was blessed
I love you mom

God make me the daughter
That my mom now needs
The daughter becomes the parent
And now takes the lead
I love you mom

You ask the same question
Over and over and frustrated
You figure it out and get upset
I touch your cheek
And say the same thing I always say
That always sounds brand new to you
Mom you can forget everything else
But just remember
I’m your favorite
The smile in your eyes,
The smile on your face
The laughter it brings
It works every time
I love you mom

dedicated to Nell Young Wise
with many, many tears

Now I Am Free from My Step-parent

A life of beauty and happiness denied, of innocence
smothered like a flame, I have always lived; but when
I hear your lovely voice, my Lisa--

now I am free.

I was dead before I even entered into this world, a
place cruel and without feeling, cruel and without
the love and understanding I finally know in the rich
harmonies of your voice, my Lisa--

which sets me free.

Before I could even hope to bloom like a sensual
flower caught breathless and naked in the first, rainy
sunbeams of spring a great evil--the threatening,
inner hostility of a dark figure overflowing with
bigotry--transformed me into a joyless

waste of ashes.

From that terrible moment on I fought all the ugly
and horrible assaults as his unwilling possession, a
gladiator in the arena of his constant abuse and
myriad threats, subject to his occasional hostile
looks from

across the dinner table.

But when I hear your voice and imagine its tender-
ness and compassion as an unearned gift meant for
me despite him and my child-like self-loathing:

I feel the love and self-worth denied me, taken from
me simply because it was too easy to not rape from
a child whose only fault was that he was born

defenseless and
white.

O Lisa! Because of the music of your lovely voice--
now I am free! Free from my years as a gladiator in
the arena of his constant abuse and attacks;

free to bloom like a sensual flower caught breathless
and naked in the first, rainy sunbeams

of Spring again!

THANKS for GIVING

It all started with the Pilgrims and the American Indians.
They broke bread to resolve their differences and work towards a better life..together.
This Thanksgiving let us remember that we are all good as individuals..but we are better together.

So as we celebrate this Thanksgiving..in the company of those we choose to share this Holiday with..let us remember..that being together as friends ..as family ..it doesn't have to be a Holiday..to spend time together.

Time is a precious gift..given straight to us from Our Father.
It's the time we spend together..the little tiny moments..that give
us a reason for going on. Her smile in a crowded room. His eyes from across the table. His cackling laughter from the next room..that makes you laugh...Your eyes, when you get it.. Screams of Victory! our team is winning. The touch of her hand to let you know..it's going to be alright..that's why we celebrate. For times like that. Soft moments..and hilarious laughter. It's hard to have those times with anyone one else except your Family and FRIENDS.

So Pray with your friends & Pray with your family as you break bread..Pray that you will always have each other on Thanksgiving.
It is TIME to be thankful and grateful..for those warm moments..and memories.

I beg you this Holiday..let Uncle know-it-all's comments roll off your back..and LET your Mom's nagging put a smile on your face. Let your Sister slide..when she says something stupid ...and have empathy for long stories by Grandma. Please..please Enjoy your FAMILY and Friends. Be grateful..open your heart..and LOVE all despite their faults. I say this as a FRIEND, as a Wife,,as a daughter and as a Sister. If you hear anything I've said hear this one little thing: SPEND TIME ...soon their will be less at your table.
Food for Thought.
Let's say it together...Amen.

My Gift

I have no pretty packages with big shiney bows
to put under a tree with lights all aglow
No gift certificates full of money
just a worn lil heart full of love for you honey

They say tis the season for sharing and giving
so I give you my heart for as long as we're living
Every day is Thanksgiving and Christmas too
as long as I get to share it with you

You bring me joy and love all year long
with you by my side, how could I go wrong
So here is my gift that I give to you
my heart, my love, and my life too

I hope you enjoy this gift that I give to you
all of my love, loyal and true
So to answer your question, so honest and true
yes, my darling, I will and I do

For You, From Me

Write away troubles,
put them in a tree,
a ground up and flattened tree.

Right away troubles
Come on back to me.

Write away troubles,
put them in a machine,
ground up into bits,
spit out the other end.
Right away troubles
are seen by new friends,

and right away the troubled
starts to mend.

I AM so thankful
to all the poets dear
who say the sweet things
my heart has longed to hear.

I want to give back
the love you have shared
I want to say
God knows you have helped me,
God knows you love
to share your sweet heart.
God loves to say thank you,

And thank you, for helping me!

COMMUNICATION WITH GOD

We
need
to keep
on talking
to God. Comminicating
with Him is how we pray. He
is a wonderful Heavenly Father!
He made all of us for a reason! When
we are sad and depressed, that is when
we need to talk to Him. Reading the Bible
is a way for us to listen to God. He is here for
all of us. In the New American Standard Bible (NASB)
Phillipians 4:6 says "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything
by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be
known to God." He will help us if we let Him. I have a favorite verse
which helps me abundantly. From (NASB) Phillipians 4:13 - "I can do
all things through Him who strengthens me." Praising Him is what I like
to do best.

This Thanksgiving Day

MLK - 1929 - 1968

MLK...
(January 15, 1929 – April 4, 1968)

they shot you down
all those years ago

but

your dream lives on
and always will

for though much has been
gained since you dreamed
your dream

there is much to fight for
and much more to struggle for

and much, much more
to fight for still

so
your dream resounds in
our hearts and we pledge
this to you today
for though they shot you down
all those years ago on a memphis day
we shall overcome
this we do believe
deep in our hearts
that
we shall overcome
someday...

Could be

I wake up before the sun from a cozy bed

I walk outside and feel the crisp autumn chill

So I put a stocking cap on my head

I walk through the back yard

heading for the woods

doing something city boy

only wish they could

I arrive at my stand

and check the direction of the breeze

before I climb up ole faithful

a dying, dark barked maple tree

I make myself comfortable

as the sun stretches its arms

for the sky

producing iridescent colors

I live for the outdoor

and that's one of the reasons why

Not far behind me a freshly cut field of hay

in front endless rows of cornstalks fill the way

I begin to think of a tradition

My son and I on thanksgiving day.

he is still here with me

even though last November he passed away

I start hearing cars doors shut

its coming from over the hill

carrying an aroma of cinnamon

It's my favorite! Pumpkin pie

Justin, I'll be back, But for now Goodbye

Finally

There was a wonderful change in my life today,
A sense of something good comming my way.
It's been a long time comming and it's feeling right ,
I know this because I was able to sleep last nihgt.
Loving you has always been so easy for me ,
Holding on to you was very different you see.
Finally the clouds and stormy skies have cleared,
We can see it clearly now that it is so near.
For years we have struggled with this love we shared,
Only recently have the two of us become so aware.
Of what we truly feel for each other these days,
Leaving no doubts it was meant to be this way.
I love her more now then I ever have before ,
To think I was about to walk out that door.
She loves me I can feel her much closer now ,
The happiness I feel makes me scream aloud.
Telling everyone I have a wonderful thing,
The love of my Queen who has made me her King.
We will live our lives making all the memories ,
This love I have for you and you have for me.

To my three most beautiful, wonderful daughters
I post it hear
For the world to hear
What Joy it is to have ones so dear
Your smiles light up my day and in your sorrows I pray
And thank God for every day
For in my eyes you are perfect in every way
Bless you three
As you have blessed me, truly I am proud to be your mother.
Now I pray
You know the way, is in Gods love that he has for you everyday.
His Love covers a multitude of sins
His Love surpasses all things

The Woods Softly Beckon

The Woods Softly Beckon

The woods beckon my soul to fly
always they have but I ask why
Perhaps a father's love they give
to bring joy as I strive to live

The golden silence in wooded air
takes away every troubling care
Invisible mists cloaks their gifts
beauty that forever, forever uplifts

The woods send me on a great trip
a wine to ever so slowly , calmly sip
A marvel to visit and simply behold
a fine victory for the brave and bold

The views that Nature has crafted
which my soul seeks to be grafted
A spell shoots so sweetly into me
when surround by the beauty of trees!

AWAY,

Away, in a manger.
Away in an away place.

Away with the veil.

Away, set sail upon light winds,
Place blows,

grace

spirit moves,

gracefully,

Away, in the invisible.

Just the way a starry night
leads.

Away into a dream
born-

...far away from troubling.

I Am So Thankful

I Am So Thankful By Rick Rucker I am so Thankful for this Life, Though there has been some Pain and Strife, It has been the greatest Gift, The memories do always lift, Me, when I feel a little Down, Cheer me up, like a clown. But the most Blessed thing I see, Our time Together, You, and Me! If that were all I had, I would be ever happy, never Sad! In our brief Time together, You have helped me to weather, Some pretty turbulent Seas, And you do it with relative Ease! All it takes is your Magic Touch, Our private time I love so much. I feel so blessed for the Love I have found, Which will warm me, all year ‘round, To You, I would like to say, I don’t need to wait for Thanksgiving Day!

Assured to shore

Lord make my light shine,
illuminating Your glory
wich doesn't dwindle in the dark
and is the joy thats set before me.
In this lifes uncertain seas
be the wind set in my sail,
be my compass and my anchor,
for You love me without fail
so I know You'd never wreck me
on this course that You are mapping
or allow me to be plundered,
sunk ,or stranded without captain.

No! I shall not be afraid
wether tempest or high tide
for as sure as You are with me
joy and peace in me abide
so my faith is in Your guidance,
not a storm You cannot still.
So direct me with instruction
I choose Your purpose and Your will.

Even when cloud and dark cover
ever confident I'll be
my soul shall look to its lover
who will ever walk with me.

It's From Up Above

This love I have for you is like none I've ever known,
Something through out all these years I've always shown.
But my heart is full of sadness because of where you are ,
You would be with me this moment if it wasn't so far.
I strive and I struggle searching just to find a way,
Never quit and never lose faith is what I always say.
You and I will be together if it's the last thing I do,
All my dreams and thoughts are all of being with you.
So hold on to me tightly my dear and don't you ever doubt,
The feelings we have for each other is what loves all about.
It may seem at times so hopeless and your ready to give up,
Just remember what we have and why we should stand tough.
Never could I imagine being in this world without your Love,
For I know this plan of you & I came from the Lord above.

The Night of Unleavened Bread

Matzos slip into their mouths
Voices project merrily...tonight is
The night of Unleavened Bread

Lamb and other delicious
Meats and veggies... satisfies our taste buds
What a splendid night it is!

Wine's brewin' in our wine cups
The dinner table - creates pleasant talk
During this meaningful night

There's moments of quietude
When it comes to de-leavening our lives
But, there's moments of gladness

On this night of peacefulness
Cheesecake - a delightful treat to savor
During this night of pure bliss

I Am Thankful For

Mom, Grandma, Nancy, Stephen, June
Laughing, talking, cooking past noon

Clean, fresh vanilla candle smell
Messy house means all is well

Christopher, David, Penny, Jan
My dog Short Stack; my biggest fan

Sweet caramel Hershey kiss
Sour lemon Lipton iced tea; Brisk

Melanie, Ashley, little James, Sebastian
Cousins sharing stories with great passion

Sincere talk with my lovely niece
Rough tug a war with my Maltese

Frank, Barb, Allen, Deby, Steve, Debi, husband, wife
All couples with true love in their life

Icy Crytsal Geyser water; cold
Steamy green bean casserole

Myself, Allen, Steph, Rob, Tami, Ron
Texas hold ‘em, reminiscing about Don

Innocent ones filled with love and hope
Raw feelings, finding strength to cope

Alicia, Terry, Frances, Marea, Gayle, Beth, Danielle
Close friends who about anything, I can tell

Together on opinions about men
Apart in our attractions to them

Icy chill in the air forcing others to touch
Friends and relatives we don’t see enough

Hot red bonfire, eggnog with brandy
Cold blue lips, children with candy

Missing my dad, wishing he was here
Taking comfort that others are near

Quiet glances, whiff of cigar smoke
Loud voices, sip of Bacardi and coke

This day is a day I will always remember
Memories to hold until next November

Hate how time slips away too fast
Love this day and want it to last

Here’s a toast to Thanksgiving Day 2010
Until next year when we celebrate again

Apple pie and pumpkin roll- that

Singing through the day
Giving thanks for childish things

Very hungry gentlemen
Inspecting every dish
Needing each a plate or ten- a

In the Baptism, for Kim

                          the prayer:
Quickened once, this seed uncrucified reclaims
Against the dessication of faith in my drought
And root dry tortures of decomposing doubt,
Against it all, a sudden impulse in the kernel flames
Thanks to my Divine Intervener, sweet love undying
Shattered falls the broken web to free my wings
The lung tarring vice, defeated, can no more clings
I joy in this, from doom and death returning
Sprout me again, breathe in me new a new day fresh
Water me with prayers of thanksgiving still, sun
Me fruit joy and grain, bless me where my Jordans run;
Unyielding Christ, out of thy grace, I rise to love afresh.

                           the testimony:
And I through travail of night to birth again
Carried you slumberless into faith of day
And I torn and shredded by sin's foul pain
From prayer to prayer wept against decay
Those years, distant, dark, void and cold
Those fears when death yawned wide iron jaws
And you my lamb staggered from the fold
O how I raged at life, and veiled despotic laws
That broke us into splinters with our dreams
I did not see today to sing again, doubts tears
Blinded me, heaven seemed silent to my screams
But today, you give me back my hope of years.
And I was not there to hold your hand, absent
From the cuddling moment my love had planned
And yet, devised by faith, I stood full present
For I am the jar of clay in the Master's kind hand
And you my child suffered it all, to bring me
Back from a superficial walk with love, and we
O let us rinse the skies with praise, let us
Walk, nobler creatures called from a common dust.

                                celebration:
Give me space to seal a kiss upon an embrace
To pour my joy before your pleasant face
Give me space to thunder with belief and stay
Exiled in ignorance, and clothed in wisdom when I pray.

The Missing Piece

She has always loved jigsaw puzzles
as far back as he can remember
she gets at least one a year
and leaves it on the kitchen table until it's done
she gets the 1000 piece puzzles now
her latest one is of lighthouses

They talk a lot on the phone
he started college a couple months ago
she loves to hear about his day
anything, everything he does
it doesn't matter what they talk about
because all she really wants to hear

is his voice

"I've been working on this thing since August"
he can tell she's really irritated
"1000 pieces, and I can't find the last damn piece"
he tries not to let her hear him chuckle
she has no idea how funny she is when she gets mad
it's November and after all the time she's put into it
she's sitting there on the other end of the phone
totally pissed because one piece is missing
"And it's right in the center where it's glaringly obvious"

When he walked in the door, he could smell the pumpkin pie
it was great to be home for Thanksgiving
he almost fell over when he came in the door
because she ran through the kitchen
and threw herself at him, laughing
and crying, and he spun her around

She's so happy he's home for a few days
he's going to help her put up the Christmas tree
just like they've been doing for years over the Thanksgiving holiday
she's also hoping she can talk him into steam cleaning the carpet
and replacing the balcony screen door

"Tomorrow I'm getting the turkey in early so we can eat by noon"
Any time was fine with him, as long as he can be here
"I'll make you a sandwich while you put your stuff away"
He walked past the kitchen table towards his room
"And if I'm lucky, maybe he'll find that damn puzzle piece" she mumbled under
her breath
With his bag slung across his shoulder
He glanced at the jigsaw puzzle
"That's great" he thought to himself as he noticed

The center piece isn't missing anymore

A Time For Thanksgiving

During this time, of our way of living… We take a day that we call; “Thanksgiving.” The early pilgrims took time, to thank the Lord. Though there wasn’t much, they could “afford.” They wanted to thank God, for all he gave them! This was their way to really thank him! Over the years, and how this country’s leaning. It seems like we’ve lost it’s true meaning! We’ve so much pleasures and entertainment. I think we’re becoming “complacent.” As many are proud of they’ve “achieved.” Giving thanks to God is seldom received… It’s more than serving a turkey and dinner meal. Isn’t it time to thank God? Who made this all real! As we approach this time of the season… Let’s be thankful to God! And for good reason! He’s given everything we call as “our own.” He’s given our health and our home! It’s no secret what God’s done for you… Be thankful to him in everything you do! He makes it possible for you to be here! Let’s honor him! As Thanksgiving draws near! By Jim Pemberton

Modern-Day

A wicked heart blinds the eyes and steals the soul's redemptive growth
A corrupted mind is never forgiving and hates a tender smile
But because there is an abundance of joy built in strength
I see my fellowmen as humanitarians and as friends

I am the modern-day Bob Marley chanting my redemption song
I am today's preacher giving thanksgiving and praise
I march like Martin Luther for I have a dream
I sing like the angles in a humble refrain

Unity solidifies the heart
Eternal love prides the eyes
A rolling dice have many outcomes
Chose the possibilities of your successes

So I dance like Fred Astaire as I glide through out life
I will box like Mohammed Ali and sting like a bee
I want to be the modern-day sunshine casting my light upon the world
Just a natural woman roaming and visualizing my plan

There are so many things to be thankful for
There are so many good silenced by loud noise
Like Whitney Houston I have nothing without you
At the end of the day I will always love and treasure my miracle.

How great grandpa was and how dad tries to follow him,

Tom Turkey Gave His All

Gobble gobble gob
Mister turkey broadbreast sings,
In the backyard pine.
"Turkey In The Straw."
What the heck! Why am I here?
Oh yes! Thanksgiving!
Wobbling to get here,
Old Tom took his sweet, good time.
Leaving chopping block!
Turkey in the Pine.
Surely today will be fine.
On veggies they dine.
Whole year soon goes by.
Old Tom in contented state.
Lets his safeguard down.
Who spied Tom Turkey?
Must have been a hungry man.
Captured! Old Tom cries.
Turkey gave his all.
Nice juicy breast and two legs.
Who can do better?
Thanks be given God.
Special day to remember.
Gifts of love received!
Now Thanksgiving Day.
Thanks to all who read this piece.
Keep love in your heart!

Partly attributed to my friend BCD who is a turkey at heart!! lol

Thanksgiving

To my beautiful daughters who I'm so very thankful for.
Heaven showered down it's waters on my life giving me so much more.
Acrostic poem of thankfulness with a huge smile on my face.
Never have I felt so blessed, and I long for my babies embrace!
Kisses, hugs, kind comments can show your thankfulness to others.
So special love to sisters, brothers, dads, and especially mothers!
Generosity can go a long way, so always express your gratitude.
If it's inspiration you need on this Thanksgiving Day, then enjoy grandma's food!
Visiting family and friends, and making amends can do wonders for the soul!
It can be an exciting Thanksgiving weekend, just watch the kids around the chocolate bowl!
No one should be alone on this day, so invite a friend over for a glorious meal.
Giving love to others should always be the way for you can help a wounded heart to heal!

*Wrote for Dane Ann Smith-Johnsen's contest Thanksgiving Day!

Jesus Is A Solid Rock

My soul is broken. My body's achin'.
At times... I feel so
utterly forsaken.

I've tried to serve God
the best I could.
So many of his ways...
I've never understood.

Rather then trusting him
 and holding his hand.
 My life is sinking deep
into quicksand!

So many nights, I've cried
myself to sleep.
I feel like I'm in a pit 100 ft. deep.

I cry unto you Lord
to pull me out.
From you... Oh Lord...
I don't want to be without!

By your tender mercy
and unfailing grace.
I trust you to put my life
on a solid place.

This solid place is Jesus...
my rock and foundation.
I've received his free gift of salvation.

He put my feet on a rock to stay.
And his word guides me
each and every day.

A song of thanksgiving is what I bring.
He is my righteousness
 and my everything!

He's always there when I've
needed someone to turn to.
He's here right now...
and is waiting for YOU!

Thanksgiving Day

Of all the people in my life that I am thankful to
I know there's not alot but one stands out among the few
If teachers rated people you'd score high among the curve
But since they don't, you never get the credit you deserve
You're known for giving freely, asking nothing in return
Even when no "thank you" comes your way you don't feel spurned
The love you show burns like a light as brilliant as the sun
More reliable than AT&T, It reaches everyone
I'm that sure you are wondering who I am talking about
I'll speak it in a normal voice, Although my heart will shout
The person I want to dedicate this Thanksgiving Day to
Is my Grandmother whom I love so much, and honestly... THANK YOU

Morning Prayer 3

Sign of the Cross (poem)

O my God
I offer you all my prayers
 Works
 Joys
 and sufferings

In union with the Sacred Heart of Jesus
For the intentions
Which He pleads
Offers Himself in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass

In thanksgiving for Your favors
In reparation for my offenses
In humble supplication for my temporal
Eternal welfare

For the conversion of sinners
For the relief of the poor souls in purgatory.
Amen.

Sign of the Cross (Poem)

Two Years Ago Today

Today I woke to your voice, on the answering machine
I pourd two cups of coffee, and read the morning paper
I wrote a little note, and placed it on the T.V. screen
Yelled out I love you, and that I would see you later

Your sister waved at me today, She still shows me that I'm Number one
So I just waved back to her, and went on with my day
On my desk sits your picture, where you were so happy and having fun
Down there at the lake, two years ago today

Talked to my momma today, told her that we're doing fine
She asked if we were coming home, on thanksgiving day
I told her you had to work, but I'd be there by nine
And that I probably could, spend a couple of days

Driving home I saw your sister again, I just waved and reved the engine
I think she really likes me, She's always waving I'm number one
Tonight I fixed you dinner, Made your favorite bite to eat
Then I done the dishes, so that you could rest your feet

I opened a letter in the mail today, as I read it the words made me cry
Then I realized that I was all alone, and that you finally went away
I just couldn't believe, that you would ever say doodbye
And that this all happened, two years ago today

wisdom?

i felt He wasn`t listening
when i knelt beside my bed
before i laid down on my pillow
the days cares filled my head
why did that have to happen?
i`m a good person why?
there on my knees that night
i felt that i might cry
i do unto others
as i`d like to have done
why all this fear and worry
i`ve not hurt anyone
my stomach knotted my tears fell
i thought my heart might break
what else do you want of me?
what else can i take?
this is all
too many burdens for me
help me understand
why all this must be
crying all in then
i sank upon the floor
please dear Jesus i don`t think
i can handle anymore
i`ll let go of this soon
i promise to give it to you
if you`ll just explain why?
and what am i to do?
was i such a child in Him
in my house in my room
right there and then
my whole life changed
in a flash of light
He was kneeling in prayer
in Gethsemane that night
He was asking questions too
one i`d just asked of Him
He was to be crucified
a final sacrifice for sin
He`d asked His disciples
to watch with Him and stay
but they fell asleep too tired
to kneel with Him and pray
i heard myself quetioning Him
why would you do this give your life for my sin?
"I LOVE YOU DEAR SO MUCH"
my precious savior explained
"i`m dying for the world
to make white the blackest sin
i`m sacrificing my life
no greater love than this
to lie down life for another
life for death my gift"
then i clearly understood
He took the cross in my place
while i`d been whining His holy blood
fell as sweat upon His face
i woke like from a dream
i`ll not lose dreams awful sight
i realized with great shame
my day had been alright
i prayed a new prayer of thanksgiving
for loving me so unselfishly
i pray all hearts open to the love of God
God`s love waits patiently
He could have chosen not to die
that day on calvarys hill
He did ask to be delivered
but surrendered to His Fathers will
now i count it all joy
when troubles come my way
i kneel beside my bed each night
and with a thankful heart i pray

Still your not here

It’s Valentines Day full of cards and kisses
Wish you were here covers all of my wishes

Easter is here and were celebrating our lord
Each day that passes I miss you even more

It’s been seven years today since we said, “I do”
It seems longer than that since I last held you

We all gather together for the birth of our land
It’s the Fourth of July and your not here as we planned

It’s your birthday today marking 34 years
When I think of you celebrating alone, it brings me to tears

Now it’s thanksgiving and the families all here
The rooms filled with spirit and still your not here

Out of habit I set a place at the tables head
The kids leave it and “Soon Mom” is all that was said

Santa is coming and kids are full of cheer
I try to keep smiling even though you are not here

Pictures with Santa and the lighting of the tree
Smiles on Christmas morning I wish you could see

We gather to wish good tidings to all
I sit and wait by the phone thinking maybe you’d call

You have missed a great deal in the year you’ve been gone
Jason had a great time at his junior prom

Katie turned seven and Chrissie turned two
For all their birthday wishes- they just wished for you

At night we all get tucked into bed
We snuggle up close and then bow our heads

Dear Lord please keep special watch over our Dad
If anything happens to him we’ll be so sad

He’s over helping the other country grow
Doing his job as you already know

He’s helping other little boys and girls
Opening their eyes to a whole new world

We are so proud of him and hold our heads high
But each night we hear mommy lay there and cry

We all miss him more than you know
Yet during the day we don’t let it show

We have to be strong and keep the faith
That soon he’ll be home with us and be safe

We are proud to hang that flag up high
We are all so full of American pride

We pray for all the soldiers’ safe return home
We pray that there are no more families left alone

Dear God for this Christmas please hear us pray
Bring our soldiers home where they belong, where they’ll stay

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving
Working men, and
Working women,
Happy Thanksgiving
Children,
Who are left behind
Happy thanks given,
Street’s poets,
Happy Thanksgiving
Low-wage happy face,
And the running delivery man

Happy Thanksgiving,
Streets,
Trees,
Lakes,
Mountains
Forests,
And prairies
Of America

Happy Thanksgiving,
Sisters and fathers
In the big churches
Or in their tiniest houses
Happy Thanksgiving
Soldier,
Policeman,
And firefighter.
Happy Thanksgiving
My friends
My street mates
Café mates,
Bus mates,
Who is watching me
And I did not notice.
Happy Thanksgiving
Who is on the road,
Who is traveling
By
Plane,
Boat,
Car,
Or who is orbiting
Around the planet.

Happy Thanksgiving
Mexicans,
Africans,
Asians,
And the European:
The first who came
And the last how are trying.
Happy Thanksgiving
The lost and found
Happy Thanksgiving given Native America

Happy Thanksgiving
Mexicans,
Africans,
Asians,
And the European:
The first who came
And the last ones who are trying.

Men,
Women,
Teens,
And children,
Happy Thanksgiving Eileen.

From Our House To Yours

It is the day before the day,
of Thanksgiving Eve,
and the kitchen is steaming,
cooking vittles to eat.
Possum, and Armadilla,
hope we have enough,
last year we had complaints,
the meat was to tough.
Corn on the cob,
steaming the room,
in run the cats,
chase them out with the broom.
Deviled eggs,
oh man the smell,
grandma had to look,
at the little ones tail.
Potatoes slightly burned,
we'll just scrape that off,
Aunt Julie's got the flu,
gee, what a cough.
Pallets on the floor,
we're all wall to wall,
three days, and counting,
we're having a ball.
Hope your day is happy,
as the gang piles in,
from our house to yours,
welcome, family, and friends.

Take No Thought

Take no thought for your life,
What you shall eat or what you shall drink.
Is not your life more than that of meat?
Behold, the birds of the air
Are fed by God our Heavenly Father.
So, neither do they gather, sow nor reap.
Now aren't we much better than they?

Take no though for your body,
What you shall put on or be your measure.
Is not your body more than stature and clothes?
Consider the lilies of the field;
They toil no, neither do they spin.
Yet, God arrays them and the flower grows.
How much more shall He provide for us of the faith?

Take no thought for tomorrow
And all the things that the world seeks after.
Does not your Heavenly Father know your need?
So seek first God's kingdom and His righteousness,
And all these things shall be added to you
That you beg not, neither be forsaken nor your seed.
How much more then should we patiently wait?

Take no thought and be anxious for nothing;
Tomorrow will worry for things of its own.
Does not each day already have enough trouble?
So in everythng by prayer and supplication
With thanksgiving make your requests known to God
Each day that you and Peace be as a couple.
Now isn't today that tomorrow you feared yesterday?

Stories From Gold

Midnight screams
Wildflower dreams
Of John, her true beloved
And of Vince, her man
They raped her again

Midnight surprise
A starlit sunrise
Wildflower sleeps
While Mother Rose weeps
For all her child's desert years
Self-abuse and twilight tears

Hey hey Thanksgiving is today
I wonder what He would say
I have no food but I have tea
So I give praises joyfully
I give thanks (of course!) for John
Whose broken dream still lingers on
Thank you too to Vince Yarrow
He shot through my heart like Cupid's arrow

Happy joyful singing fair
Psychic dreams and long long hair
Satan tried not once but twice
Did his damnedest to entice
The maidens down by the river ran
Each believing John was her man
Every fair young lady doing all she can

It is an enigma because he didn't return
He swore he'd prefer to burn
For his misdeeds and his biggest sin
Believing that he was a god therein
He went to the mountains, drank from the fountains
I understand why he ran away
He has no fear of judgment day
But broken promises and broken hearts
Is why he had to depart
Will he return? You never know
But I can feel him, he is the greatest show

JESUS Evidence Of Things Not Seen

BY faith we can kiss the feet that wore the shoes
That the latchets we are unworthy to loose
Leave are burdens with thanksgiving sweetly cry
By faith we can reach up to the nailed scarred hands
That led the blind man out of town in the way
Keep looking up to the eyes that wipe away all tears
By faith can lean upon Jesus' bosom
With listening ears hearing the heart beat of God
Whispering saying that love shall never die
By faith receiving his love with and without fears
It is written love him he will led you in the most excellent way
Living to die dying to live it is by his strength we stand
By faith as Jesus once again heals the blind man looking at his face
The blind man looking around saw every man clearly
Love is of God we must not from their lovely faces hide
By faith the brother we have seen on the street lying or stumbling by
Love our brothers we have seen dearly
The knowledge of the saving grace for whom our saviour died
By faith and grace of our Lord Jesus in morrows by and by
Be that pure and perfect bride
Who is my mother,or brethren?",Jesus said we can by faith

Ham hog & Cabbage

I’ve nothing
positive to say today
Just different scenarios
In a vacant approach
Calling me to come home
I was left wandering
In the dark alone
The objective
To ease the hurt
Take away a curse
For days that we play
Reach for new heights
In a vulnerable scene
Tip toe on mercy
To avoid
the split in my spleen
In love with a phantom
Hidden behind a spotted face
Out for the souls of grown men
Those who have plotted
Against a broken race
Misplaced pigment cells
Only the pig in men sells
Walking on childhood misery
Adolescent years swayed
Mentally weighed
Prohibited the belief
Of a murdered messiah
Don’t you be so careful
As to let it hypnotize you
He who believes in thee
Can only be a liar
Shall I live
Then death to all rivals
No apologies
Its just the pledge of survival
The Quran
Your mischievous bible
I hold these latter-day saints
Equally liable
And if it gets no better
Love always
As her emotions led her
An old man as spoken for
Casualties of sympathy
Hoping for a cure
One old woman and ten dollars
Spent thanksgiving day
Hoping for a ham and a cabbage
But we savages in this ravaged land
Think nothing of her
But you got to love her
Reach out with your cold arms
And hug her
Rub the hurt
To keep her above the dirt
“Yes we can”
Do what?
Nothing again
I write for life
I write for birth
I write for you
For what it’s worth
I can’t stretch my intelligence enough
To write for peace on earth

the holidays

When I think about the holidays,
It's that feeling of ch
Waiting for Santa to come in his sleigh,
The smell of candy canes and pine.
It's almost a high.
Oh, and don't forget the pie!
Food, songs, blessings, and toasts,
Time with family, extended and close.
No present can be bought
That can take the place of the love.
From Thanksgiving to New Years
Our homes get colder.
Family is great to have near
To make it feel warmer.
Ribbons and bows are pretty,
And presents are great to give,
But it's the love of others
That makes them so special

My Time Of Season

Hey!

Ain’t it grand this time of

The year..

The leaves of autumn is so

Beautiful,

This time of season..

The leaves are,

Burnt red

Orange & yellow

Brown & and a bit of

Fading green..

The leaves are,

Falling,

Falling,

Falling,

All in this time of the

Season..

I wish I could capture all

Of nature beauty..

And canned it in a jar..

Turkey and its stuffing &

The trimming...

Pumpkin pie,

Fills the air with the
Thanksgiving aroma..

Grape kool-aid is my favorite

Drink.

Laugh..

Sitting in the center of my

Dinner table..

I love the season

Changes..

I love the fiesta colors

And the frost little nip

In the early mornings..

Um um um

Ah, how I love this time

Of season..

So beautiful with grandeur..

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ONE

AND ALL!

Tis Season

It is the season of giving thanks, of being thoughtful of all those that came before.
The tradtions that are developed and loved. Food that warms the heart and
comforts the soul.
Thanksgiving is the time of year for apprecation of what you have.
Of giving thought to those that have sacrificed to give what we have.
Of love cherishing the moments we are given.
There is no better than time than now to stop and reflect on our actions.
Of aiming to be a better sort.
I love this time of year. The sights of fall leaves, the smell of pumpin spice
in the air. The first taste of turkey, the food, the family that gather to celebrate the
year that we have had.
This is the time to truly look out and see the wonder that is our home.
So A Happy Thanksgiving to all.
