I saw a burial with a bugler playing taps;
I turned to my father, “what happened?” I asked.
He clutched my hand and with a quiver in his voice,
he began to explain and his eyes became moist.
“My son,” he said, “this is rather difficult for me;
for an old veteran like myself this is tough to see.
In that coffin lies a genuine patriotic warrior,
an honest-to-God hero, an American soldier.
I appreciate that soldier and the service he gave,
and I honor his sacrifice as he’s laid in his grave.
He was honorable, selfless, courageous, and bold;
please remember him son, as you grow old.
The value of his service, I must explain,
if not remembered, will be lost in vain.
As a nation we’re nothing without soldiers like him;
and failing to remember would be a terrible sin.”
I listened in awe as my father spoke,
it seemed as if his heart were broke.
I suddenly remembered when he went to war,
and when he returned I thought nothing more.
I never asked why he walked with a limp,
and I didn’t care about why he was sick.
I was too busy enjoying the life that I had,
to realize that I had it because of dad.
I finally understood what my dad was about,
and it hurt so bad I cried out loud.
He sacrificed so much so I could be free,
and his battle scars were suffered for me.
It was my father’s spirit that spoke to me that day;
thank God I finally understood what he had to say.
I saluted his coffin as they laid him to rest,
and I thought about the medals pinned on his chest.
That I didn’t honor him sooner, I will always regret;
and I pledged that day to never again forget.
I’m proud that my dad was a patriotic warrior;
I’m honored to be the son of an American soldier.
Everything in life has a price
Someone must always pay
Life begins and ends with a price
If someone don't, you must somehow pay
If you don't, who must pay?
You're earning income because you had to pay
You're enjoying because you had to pay
You're being punished because you had to pay
You're called a lover because you had to pay
You're seen a friend because you had to pay
You're on earth because a man and a woman had to pay
you're secured because the police had to pay
You're eating because the farmer had to pay
You're hopeful after death because God had to pay
You're reading this poem because the poet had to pay
We enjoy free lunch now because someone before us paid the price
We are independent now because someone before us paid the price
We are healthy now because someone before us paid the price
We are here now paying still because someone before us paid the price
We can't afford not to pay because someone before us paid the price
You have my soul, but you have your fate
Whatever your words, I’m willing to take
You have my word; I’ll give you my breath
It’s like a chain that would never be break
You are my love with all my heart,
I’ll fight for you with all my might.
And in the way, you admire your goals,
You hold my hands, but not so close.
As you go to your chosen path,
I’ll accept the fact that we will be apart.
In the dark side, I leave behind
Within my faith, that you’ll arise
Please don’t look back, coz I’m fighting still
I’m hurting so much! Don’t want to have you near
I accept my fate for what it does,
I’m bleeding so much, do you know for whom it was?
You reach your goals, as you want to have,
Would you remind the man that gave what he had?
As you reach the stars, and be the one
Be a sun that shines its own.
After the rain, the rainbow comes,
Like dark in the moon, when the light flash
A glimpse from you at least a short
For then I knew my pain is worth.

Which nation of the world
Do I belong?
I belong to the nation
And freedom for all.
I belong to the nation
Proletariat and aristocracy
Disabled and abled
Woman and man
Young and old
Black and colored
People and nation
Right and rule...
I belong to the nation of peace
Across the land, the sea and the sky.
And peaceful stretch to the arboreal.
And Peace of souls,
Is my strength-
The rhythm that keeps me growing.
Though I was born a Nigerian.
Not I neglects being call
American, Ghanaian, Portuguese
Chinese, Korean, Indian...
Though I'm by virtue
Of land mass
Not do I dismiss
In unison unit
That type me Asian,
I belong to
There’s many people who claim they’ve nothing to “hide!”
They tend to use the rainbow
as a source of their “pride.”
But if you read in the book of Genesis, it is revealing.
God’s purpose of the rainbow had a different meaning!
The rainbow was there when much
of mankind disappeared!
There was a promise of God that was so very clear.
He promised to never again destroy man with a flood.
This was his promise... An extension of his love!
It was never intended as his approval for perversion!
Mankind still needs a Jesus filled holy conversion!
The colors of the rainbow can’t wash away sin’s dark stain!
This can only happen by the
power of Jesus’ name!
The colors are beautiful… But man’s heart is filled with deceit!
Without the soul cleansing power of Jesus…
We’re never complete!
No court decision can give the freedom that many desire!
Only the power of the cross can
change you this very hour!
The only way to find equality with God, is through the cross!
Without his words of truth…
We are forever LOST!
Look past the colors of the rainbow! Seek the power of the blood!
Then you too, can be changed from
God’s power from above!

An old man looking out his door,
gaze fixed on a distant shore,
reminiscing to a time, not of happiness,
or, the prospect of a bright future,
to when he was sick to his very core,
to when as a youth, he went to war
A time before infallibility had meaning,
patriotism and bravado the craze,
the future was still unknown,
vigor for life at its all time high,
a time for romance, partying, buying,
no thought of pain, deformity, dying
Too young to understand or question,
ship to foreign shore, medals abound,
will impress the girls next time in town,
sacrifice not temporary,
a legacy etched into a wall, few will remember,
flesh shredded, burned, torn,
A time, when he willingly went to war,
will happen no more,
all lost in youth, now unrelenting,
no blind obedience,
long life, his number one ambition
As he turns back from the door,
he thinks of the youth,
here now, soon no more,
lessons never learned,
the call to war,
to common the roar,
complacency the mood,
another generation removed
The old man agonizes
over what was originally not known,
war is preventable,
life too precious to waste,
the solution simple,
his vision, maybe too late
Send old men to the front to fight,
arthritis, heart disease, poor eyesight,
let the youth enjoy their life,
his near over, its only right
Send old men, to the front, to fight
ask them to give up their life,
patriotism and bravado, still alive,
will and desire would not last the night,
old men do not rush to death in their twilight,
failure inevitable, the old man smiles,
knows he's right
Wars not possible,
if old men, are sent to fight
Open your eyes to the ever turning skies
I want to here with me through the night
My heart yearns into your soul
Burning as if newly lit coal
I bravely submerg the embers
That the time I have can be spent with you
And I remember each kiss every moment
I was caught in your love that for just this day I remember
So what happened was a chance for your love
A time that I kept in a locket tied with a kiss
I wanted you to feel, to love, to slumber
And to awake in my arms with that times kept bliss
I lay silient in an umber
Once upon a very long time in the eleventh century B.C.
There was a king in, Athens, who ruled both land and sea
To all was known as king Codrus*, a mighty warrior was he
His enemies were much afraid in his kingdom once to be
Yet, the Spartans** war declared and marched into Codrus’s land
Wishing all Athens to burn down, nothing vertical to stand
Codrus, saw the Spartans coming and his army he prepared
To defend the holiest ground thus his city to be spared
First he sent to ask the oracle of God Apollo at Delphi***
To reveal to the king, Codrus, who the winner would be
God at once the answer gave: “The victor of war would be
The city of which the King is slain" that’s the way to be free
Codrus, was much determined his beloved Athens, he to save
Thus his kingly clothes took off, went the enemy to brave
To Spartans the oracle was known, to their soldiers gave orders
No one to hurt king Codrus, else they had to leave the borders
Codrus, as a peasant soon was dressed, ax in hand was he holding
As he approached the Spartans’ camp, his fury was fast unfolding
Spartans, him, didn’t recognize and with a sword they cut him down
But then saw that the king was he, wrapped inside that filthy gown
Instantly their camp the Spartans broke and left that same day
To return to Sparta their city and found themselves at bay
The Athenians then decided, by no means, a new King them to find
For none would love his land As Codrus did, with all his heart and mind
This the way democracy**** was born, some thirty-one centuries ago
When Athenians, the King’s powers passed to people, by only a single law

*Codrus (in Greek, Kodros) was the last of the semi-mythical Kings of Athens that ruled between 1089-1068 B.C. He is considered the finest example of patriotism and self-sacrifice. This is his story!
**The most powerful states in ancient Greece was Sparta and Athens..
During the time of the Spartan invasion of Athens territory in 1068 B.C. the Spartans consulted the Delphic Oracle, who prophesied that their invasion would succeed as long as the king of Athens was not harmed.
***At Delphi was the temple of Apollo, son of Zeus! One of Apollo’s duties was
To reveal to humans his father’s Will. The Greeks of old were doing nothing
unless they were consulting Apollo who was the prophet par excellence. Once
Apollo was giving his reply the Greeks obeyed it to the letter!
****Democracy is the combination of two words: Demos and Cratos . Demos means the People and Cratos means Power so Democracy means Power to the People.
The soul of the crab
Oh how she hides behind that shell
Lets no one see her feelings
She’s practical in everything
But those feelings have her reeling
She’s sensitive, and hurt easy
And her moods they be so many
And yet she has not one bad bone
Malice, she has not any.
She be the one for queen and country
Digs into history
She’s always loyal to her kin
She loves her family
She’ll protect them with her life
Don’t no one touch her man!!!
She has a brilliant memory
And she’ll get you when she can.
Her mother, she loves very much
But her children more than that
Wherever there be family
That’s where she would be at
And how she loves to entertain
And cook delicious food
And always she will be a mother
In her heart will be her brood

As sin and perversion often
So many lives and families
are being “disintegrated.”
Many are being driven by sin’s temptation force…
It’s no wonder much of this country
is way “off course.”
The morality and values that once made a great nation.
Are evaporating…. Leading to a
Love, honor, and respect of God…
Is often a “thing of the past.”
Anything of God seems to be
God is our only hope! And him alone!
Only he can bring healing to our broken homes!
He’s the answer to this wounded nation, that bleeds!
It’s only God that can meet all of our needs!
He’s our provider… The great: “I am!”
Won’t you reach out to him?
And give him your hand?
Why not give him a chance? And allow him in?
A brand new life for you…
Is waiting to begin!
May we allow God’s holiness and love to reach
down into our hearts…
Asking; “Lord please forgive our sins!”
Is a good place to start!

#What we want#
What we want is worth
Let love live,
Peace perfect praise...
...Let long lasting law
rule round reign.
What is it to see the soil of home again?
A welcome, snow-struck and a return
To cold; sharp white contrasts sunburn.
We converse in broken tongues to men
We know, hooked on holiday language
Comprised of wandering hand signs.
Collect the car and pay parking fines,
Drive through towns and over a bridge
Until we reach the Western gateway.
Oh when will we arrive at our house?
No camels there, only field mouse
Which are eaten by our cat anyway.
The plane flies for an age, slyly yawning
Through the stretching, pealing sky,
A knife through air; what it is to fly.
Our travels over; a new day is dawning.
There I was in his arms
Warm and safe from all harm,
He kissed my cheek and fell to one knee
As he said the words "Will you marry me?".
One month later our wedding day came
And we joined as one to be the same,
But on our honeymoon he got a call
I fell to the floor and lost it all.
He solemnly explained that he had to go
"Go where?" I wept, "You can't, please, no!",
We hurried back home for him to catch his plane
He was now stationed to Iraq, how insane!
I watched as he took off and waved goodbye
I could not bear it, therefore I cried,
As the long hard days came and passed
I thought of him as long as each day'd last.
Six months dragged by and at the door a man knocked
He handed me a letter which badly of it I thought,
The letter broke my heart into a million pieces
And also left scratches, bruises, and creases.
He was pronounced missing in action
Missing from my heart were huge fractions,
But I knew one thing...I could not give up
I prayed and I paced but still no luck.
A few more weeks passed but I'd gotten no word
"What's going on?" I'd sob, "this is absurd!",
When at last I had lost all my hope
I no longer like this had to cope.
I walked outside and what did I see
A man's figure walking towards me,
Our eyes met distantly and he dropped his things
My heart doesn't ache, no longer does it sting.
There I was in his arms
Warm and safe from all harm,
I kissed his cheek as we fell to our knees
And I whispered the words "Please, never leave me!"
Today in New York's harbor
I saw a majestic lady
With her torch raised for all to see
The millions who've seen her
Know she stands for
Not what is but what can be
Passed Ellis Island on a dreamer's ferry
When an old friend walked up to me
A heart's hope question
Life's in the daring
Climb the mountain
Live to be free
People lost and hiding
Energy spent disguising
But it's just fantasy
Existing not living
Longing but not loving
But it can all change
That's my hope
That's my heart
That's my.. Statue of Liberty!

I do not know?
You're 3000 mile away
its 6 am
I'm in my own bed
my phone rings
but your voice could wake me from a coma
you're 3000 miles away
and its only 3am
7,100 islands, you are made up..
Pearl of the orient seas, that's how you are..
Cradle of four civilization, historians says..
Only Christian nation, even they speak..
Abounded with vast green forests..
Surrounded by shallow to deep trenches...
Choose wether to white and black sands of beaches..
Each island is an enticement...
Every province has it's own native delicacy...
Each one is known for its festival felicity..
Poor as it may seem yet great in hospitality..
Enabling each tourist to feel welcome in grandiosity...
Look around, you will see a smile..
Scattered genuine friendship in mile..
Wether you are black, white or yellow skin..
They don't care as long as you're clean...
Clever and intelligent...
Creative and truly magnificent..
Small probably by height..
Yet, if known you'll be full in sight..
God fearing - spirited by nature..
Responsible enough for the future..
Families implants love to nurture..
Obviously seen in each Filipino creature...
I do not know?
I’m proud of the man in front of me
Dressed in his ACUs
But i miss the guy you use to be
Blue Jeans and your boots.
I miss the way you drive your truck
i miss the sweet soft stares.
I miss the man you use to be
I’m not sure hes still there
Betroth her to me,
If she will never stop amazing my spirit.
Bring her to me,
If she will never stop beautifying my heart.
Hand her to me,
If she will never stop spoiling me with love.
Entrust her to me,
If she will never stop till she fight my war.
Leave her to me,
If she will never wish for my death before the hour.
Send her to me,
Let our hands lock in wed.
Send her to me,
Let our oneness soul united.
Time was left to mend a wounded country – now it’s time for us to step in,
To gather the shattered pieces of glass, of the past, as they have caused sin.
Is war not a sin?
Shouldn’t the shattered glass be thrown away?
It’s us who will pay, and no longer should we stand silently,
We’ll pay the ransom of the war that has affected us,
With the power of a united country overcoming, all that’s kept us from becoming.
At peace with the other side, let’s unite and not collide!
We must become a whole country, not half or less,
And prove triumphant over hate.
The war may be over but think again; it's NOT!
For the sake of a future, the bitterness must be forgot!
Ever since birth we’ve shared the same homeland,
From the mountains' snow, to the beaches’ sand
The ghost of the past has been haunting us for so long.
Let’s accept that it’s of the same country that we belong.
Who am I?
Fleeting shadow deathly still,
Intricate graffiti on the crumbling wall,
Fiery smoke in the silent sundown.
Who are you?
Music drifting out of reach,
Crested waves caressing sand,
Enchantress dancing on the rocks.
Leave me be here,
This dusty paradise,
To bask in its warmth,
And not your own.
Yet still she calls me,
Not you but her,
That Emerald Maiden,
Who ever holds my heart.
We take flight from this mountain,
Where the lions are filled with woe,
My Emerald Maiden calls me,
One day, not her alone.
Do you know how much I love you?
It is so hard for me to explain
But I would like to tell you
And perhaps ease this aching pain.
You know I have to go
There is no other way
But I will always love you
I promise…. until my dying day.
You will have my child
What could be better than that?
I pray with all my heart and soul
That I will get to come back.
I go to serve my country
At times not even sure why
But like many others I say
We go….. even if we die.
So many of us have already gone
Some have even come back
Messed up in the head or injured
Some gone from enemy attack.
That is the price of freedom
There are so many of us who care
And our allegiance to God and country
Is the reason we are there.
to gather all nations,
under one resolution.
to bring peace to one world,
where the society may not deserve it.
ti rise out of the undertow of a violent shadow;
blessings and fruit where it may not fit.
not lacking of freedom,
not lacking of anything.
a world where it does not know how valuable or needed it is.
no more danger of spontaneous violence,
where the light can shine for everyone,
even when the world is trying to drag you down......!!!
It is the noblest honour to serve,
But the most natural thing to love,
I present to you this conundrum,
Which is better to love or to serve?
To love is natural, to serve is noble,
Yet there exists no greater foe than these,
Man must choose,
If love triumph nobility is sacrificed,
If service triumph passion is sacrificed,
To ask man not to serve is blasphemy,
To ask man not to love is inhumane,
Shall we become stone’s to serve or
Become traitors to love.
True service enlists love, and there can
Be no love without service.
For which is better the love of a women
Or the admiration of men.
My weeping is two-fold,
One for never dreaming and
The other for never loving.
Between the vale, the mountains that surround me,
The grass seems greener though the frost does slightly cover,
The mornings dew, drops as once did the tears from my eyes,
Like the winding trodden path, my life seemed to lead to nowhere,
Now like the mountains tree's, I'm standing tall and strong,
Where once was trapped, You've opened the gate to pastures New,
Like the collieries, the mines which once was thriving with fuel,
Now empty inside, lost and abandoned, no fuel to light the fire within,
Now there is fire, fueled from your words, your gentle soul provides,
You've made me the red dragon, the symbol of hope, strength and pride...
