Ride with me on my time machine to a different time and place
Return with me and let me see if I can put a smile upon your face
To the days of AM radio and the TV was black and white
To lying in a grassy field and counting stars at night
Popcorn and soda in the balcony at a Saturday matinee
Parades led by the High School Band on Decoration Day
Dressing up and going door to door on the night of Halloween
Cigarettes rolled in your shirt, pretending to be James Dean
Pep rallies before the football games, everybody stand and cheer
Going in the woods with your friends at night, sharing a quart of beer
That feeling inside, turning red, when she smiled at you at the dance
Wanting to kiss her goodnight, but you were afraid to take a chance
Playing chase tag at night in the neighborhood, hiding behind a tree
Holding hands with your first steady, so all your friends could see
Medicine Show at the end of town in a giant canvas tent
Saving pennies for a rainy day, fasting on candy for Lent
Going for a Sunday ride with Mom and Dad in the family car
Playing in the yard at night, putting lightning bugs in a jar
Drag racing on that long stretch of road, Chevy was hard to beat
Stealing peaches from a neighbor’s tree, always seemed so sweet
Riding bikes all over town, never knowing the meaning of fear
Identifying cars by their tail lights, make and model and year
News and Stooges at the theatre before the movie starts
Valentine’s day I love you written on tiny candy hearts
Easter bonnets and picking flowers for Mom on Mother’s Day
Opening day at the community pool the last weekend in May
Sock hop in the auditorium, collar up, trying to play it cool
Meeting friends at the usual place, everyday after school
Six for a quarter on the juke box, music that would move your soul
Return with me now to those glory days and the birth of rock and roll.

Though many songs are written of angels
I must add to the empire
This small hymn to a woman, a champion of life
Nameless here, but named in all things good and pure
I'll stand beside her work, her artistry astounds the stars
And all light that is given is humbled in her presence
Every worry is smoothed away, all tears absolved
God, let me take her sadness into me and carry it for her
Until I am old, and then I'll have my chance to see her once more
I am not a religious man, but she brings the divine to me
And cradles me forever in her selfless, adoring arms
I love you mother, I love you
I will always love you

When I was a child, you would hold me tight
When I went to bed, you would kiss me good-night
At times I know, I was really bad,
You were always patient, not often mad.
As I got older, my love for you grew
My perfect flower, covered in dew.
No matter what I did, I knew you were there,
Always willing to forgive, showing me you care.
When I got married and moved away,
I thought about you just about every day.
The child that grew under my heart,
Showed me how much of you, that I was a part.
At times I needed you but I didn't call,
I knew how much you worried about us all.
I had so much inside, I wanted you to know
So hard, it was for me, to let my feelings show.
Although I didn't say it, I'm sure you could see,
That you meant the whole world to me.
There was no time to say good-by,
So now, deep inside of me, I cry.
I know that you are happy, up in heaven
Some souls have no one, you have seven.
I feel so empty I don't know what to do,
You have taken my heart with you.
I will always feel this emptiness within,
Until, my dear Mother, I see you again.
Until then I want you to know,
I love you Mom, I loved you so.

the pearls from your eyes
are far more precious to me
than any treasure
your big sacrifice
nothing more to compare with
you’re my great hero
I owe you my life
mom, my heart melts when you cry
your tears: pearls of love
that’s the greatness of your love
in you, I feel God
mom, I’m so sorry
sometimes, I make you lonely
but you’re dear to me
you bear all the pains
pearls of great love on your cheeks
every drop, I’ll kiss
for I do believe
you want only the best for me
all your pray’rs and wish
thank you so much mom
those pearls of great mother’s love
be kept in my heart
you’re my only mom
replaceable by no one
comfort and best friend
my ardent prayers
may you live long in this world
may God gives you strength

This poem was conceived both from the “Pearl” theme and one of my possible adorable picture themes of my latest contest, “Mother’s Love”- merged into one.
It is also composed with the inspiration of all mothers in this world. You’re indeed the greatest heroes/heroines! I am so proud of you! I lovingly dedicate this poem to you dear mothers and friends! Big hugs to all of you! Of course, I include especially my loving/dearest mom who’s my greatest inspiration, refuge and best friend.
This poem can also bring to us a message for this Easter Season as we remember Mother Mary who’d suffered much seeing her loving son Jesus Christ’s great sufferings on the cross at Mt. Calvary- a mother’s great love to her child indeed!
HAPPY EASTER SEASON TO ALL!

Mother’s Love (Sonnet)
Love begins at the time of conception
When a mother’s dear child grows in her womb.
Her life is changed to thoughts of protection.
Excitement and wonder of gender bloom.
This new little life will bring heightened joy.
A new baby is what dreams are made of.
It matters not if it’s a girl or boy,
Birth will bring happiness and so much love.
Teaching a sweet child as he or she grows
Is a most important tool used each day.
To teach how compassion and kindness flows,
As they emulate and do things our way.
A mother’s love, with every endeavor,
Is a gift to her children forever.

on this special day
I doest say
that thy mother is of graceful sort
it hath been said she is devine
and I do holdeth this to be true
now dearest mother may I be so bold
to tell you the sun still shinest on one so old
as true as this be
you still grasp your faith
like the roots of a tree
tis said you are wise
and this I have found true
the eye doeth grow deceived when it is drawn upon you
as your thoughts become known
only then your age is shown

Every day she comes to visit her,
lifts the spoon to her thin lips.
Quietly she sleeps, silently she weeps.
Life arrested in its waning grip.
Every day she comes with hope
that something in her changes.
Silently she weeps, quietly she sleeps
The memories time rearranges.
Every day she comes and wonders,
will she wake today and speak?
Quietly she sleeps, silently she weeps
An imprisoned mind in body weak.
Every day she comes and touches
the woman like no other.
Silently she weeps, quietly she sleeps.
Maternal daughter, loving mother.

I see you
Do you see me peeking at you
From behind the rose bush?
Look at your lovely hair - a tousled mess
Those eyes, gleaming in the afternoon sunlight
I pull on your apron strings
Perchance a small smile
Oh no! Not a frown from you
I see you
Did you know that I was watching you
When you were busy making chocolate cake?
Just look at your sweet face
Flour on your nose and cheek
I squeeze your arm tightly
Mayhaps I get the spoon
Thank you for keeping me close
I see you
You don't know that I am looking at you
Wrapped up in your blanket
So cozy and warm - a quiet nod
A peaceful time for you
Can hardly wait for you to waken
I'll find a hiding place
So I can watch again

My eyes follow as my left hand orchestrates my thoughts with an ink pen
Of memories, past and present, good and bad that you have embedded within
My heart palpitates when you are near as you billow with love again and again
I promise to be with you in the stormy weather as the dark skies descend
Live life every sec, min, and hour with you without fearing when our time will end
Oh what a blessing you have been to me amongst endless pain, agony and sin
Verily I say, thanks for the seed that has formed my vital structures to speak herein
Everyday is a new beginning, yet you continue to march along the strongest wind
Yield not from my heart, for you are the cause and effect of beast becoming men
Others have gone before you, lead the way for your hands were made to lend
Unending love and protection you have as long as I'm your Officer and Gentle-Men

The moon so bold seems cold
with a halo of midnight glow
I sit mesmerized as the night grows old.
I bleed still, even after all these years
and I wait again through the night
aching in the depths of my soul
that no other seems to know
the Loneliness that has become my companion.
In the darkness we wait and confide in the other
our deepest fears as memories fade
in and out each season of change
the nostalgia tempers the wars of pain
this tempestuous foe of ours
wails at the gates of midnight
howling the warble of humanities last grace.
How the comfort of minds and hearts
turn from light to deep dark in the face
of eternities long time clock...
I ache with wanting, with need and passion
it is a lie that time heals and wounds scar
each night is fresh like the first
when I faced realities shock.
Who can wait with me?
Who can hold this hound at bay?
Who can cherish what little love left in me
and make the broken whole?
I ache to be loved again as the love that burns
and waits inside of me.
Who can comfort this emptiness and fill the void
that so many leavings have left?
Cherish and love to honor and protect
but who can slay these demons that hold my heart in wrath?
Who will walk the sulfur clouds of hell to save my mind
and deliver my world to the gates of heaven
with life, not death bridging the distance of pain?
I sit and wait at the floor of the moon each night
waiting for that bridge to carry me yonder,
this moon who hangs heavy and ripe with the yearning of my soul
with clouds aglow as if I could sweep them across a canvas
with the brush held in your hand
I rage at her as I wait, but still I wait and weep
as Loneliness and I keep each others company
wishing the clouds of that great moon could truly create
a way to find the lost, a pathway to home, lit by the legacy our love.

Please please PLEASE
Say you recognize ME -
My face, my name;
Please say you know me today.
Say you know me, so we can converse,
A normal chat, words unrehearsed.
No more who are you’s, or who am I’s,
No more confusion when I stop by
I miss you mom and you’d miss me too,
If just once, you only knew…

Unsung Hero – My Mom
My Mom has always been unassuming, never flashy,
But her name deserves to be up in bright neon lights.
My magnificent Mom, Olegaria, is my hero!
In her eyes, no one is a zero,
And she is a blessing to all who crosses her path.
Successfully raising her own five children,
She also helped to raise all the stray children in her neighborhood.
Her guiding motto is “You can’t believe in God and
Not care about others - whether it is people, plants, or animals.”
An extraordinary human being, generous to a fault,
She would give her last slice of bread
To anyone who needed to be fed.
Nothing, including her time, is too good or too precious
To share with family, friends, and even strangers.
Often she’d sacrifice her own happiness,
If it meant that others would be happy.
While Mamacita is very humble, forgiving, and non-judgmental,
She is nobody’s fool and can be a fierce lioness,
Quick to defend her values and those she loves.
Caring mothers like her are especially rare today,
And should be declared national treasures.
Because of her powerful influence and the solid values she instilled,
I am a stronger, kinder, more conscientious, and better person.
My Mom helped me to see life in a more positive
And compassionate way – to treat people
How I would like to be treated.
Even though she is not a regular church-goer,
She prays several times daily and her home is her altar.
I thank God every day for blessing me with this wonderful mother,
And for her continued presence in my life.
Mom, you will always be my hero!

I do not know?
I cant write a better poem for my poet
I cant paint a better portrait for my artist
I cant sing the best song for my rock star
I cant tell the best story about mom
I can describe a little that I know
Simply the nicest person on the planet
Simply, that's what i know
The strongest of all I have met
She is the lead soloist who thinks she is just backing in a rehearsal
She is the real joy who thinks she is a supplement
She is the real cookie when i need one
So many times I thought
I would never find someone to love me,
The way I needed to be loved...
Then I found mom, just there, always there
There's a story behind everything.
How a picture gets on a wall.
How a scar gets on your face.
Sometimes the stories are simple,
Sometimes they are hard and heartbreaking.
But behind all our stories is always a story
Our mom's story,
Because hers is where ours begin
Dedicated to my mom Cinda Carter a woman who
has walked my heart and left love prints
that nothing can wash away

MY LIFETIME FRIEND: MY MOTHER
Throughout childhood and adolescent days,
She was my staunchest supporter,
And through teen years and young adulthood
I was glad to be her daughter.
As a mother-in-law and grandma,
She’s there whenever/wherever she’s needed,
And if this was to be her lot in life,
She’s definitely succeeded.
But whatever she is to other folks;
A friend, sister or other,
She is to me, and will always be
MY LIFETIME FRIEND: MY MOTHER!

She's the one who carried you in thy womb.
Every day she counts until you grew.
A happiest moment she ever had,
Is when she first touched your little hands.
She's the one in charged to everything.
Twenty-four-seven,her duty never ends.
Do the house chores, nanny and cook.
Doesn't receive salary for her hardwork.
She's the one who kept tears in the night.
Just to assure a family will keep in sight.
She endures all heaviness this life has bring.
To keep her children away from fears.
She's the one gives unconditional love.
Forgive our sin, no matter how it hurts her heart.
She has a bag full of smiles.
A hug and kiss is all that she wants.
As she gets old, please love her back.
Repay her hardworks and multi tasks.
Take care the way she did for us.
We'll be a mom too,and do what she does.

Not because of the sweet deep voice
Not because of the angelic heart
Not because of the shelter and food
Not because of bills you clear
Not because of because

Because you love mom

Mama, I saw you in my dreams..
Your face lit up as I see you...
I remember how you protect me..
I remember how you tuck me as i want to sleep..
I remember how you hold me when i'm sick..
I remember how you smiled when i succeed..
And how you cry each time I'm broken...
Mama, I miss you...
I don't say, i love you much...
But I put it in many ways...
I want you be proud of me...
I want you not be scared of me...
Trust me, I can manage & pass any storm..
Trust me, I'll not give up..
Trust me, I am no child no more
Trust me, I'm putting into actions what you want me to be...
Mama, I wish we shared more hugs...
I wish we had more strolls...
I wish we sang more songs..
I wish we do gardening again..
I wish, I'll make your pastries again...
Mama, my only mama
I love you in thousand ways..
Carrying me nine months carefully...
Please on your birthday..
Be happy and merry...
I am your second daughter..
Who have been loving you better and better...
note: this poem is made and inspired by my mama, for whom have always been with me all the time and who have never stopped loving me.. thank you ma...

My past is a reoccurring nightmare.
This cycle is never broken.
My heart is filled with poison,
So are your veins.
Chains hang off of me as I try to break free.
I have lost myself somewhere within the years.
Age crept up slowly, and I started to see my life;
It was not what I had expected.
With every whisper of ‘I love you’,
Another crack spread across my delicate soul.
Hardened by the years of abuse;
Nothing can hurt me now.
Stripped from my innocence;
My confidence shattered like broken glass.
There is no escaping this.
I feel alone and unloved.
I was taken off guard,
Your words were a promise of security;
Hope amongst a sea of sorrow.
You were just another lie.
Depression doesn’t sum up my pain.
Death would not heal it,
For I have responsibilities;
I have people who need me.
I long for the day that this rotation ends.
I can be loved for being myself.
I will be taken care of.
I will be yours.

When your fledgling heart is breaking
and tears silently start to fall,
When you whisper of secret loves
suppressing muffled cries of joy,
When lies are rehearsed in your mind
and before you utter a word,
When you struggle to stifle screams
entombed in a cone of silence,
When you learn to laugh at yourself
and take life less seriously,
When you mumble I love you mom

I do not know?
Im sorry for all the fights
It doesnt matter whos right
I dont want to think I’m losing you
But what if I do
Will you still say I dont care
The truth is I do
All the times I didn’t say I love you too
But I do…..

Youre still my mom and I love you For who you are

I want to explain
How I feel about you
The thoughts in my head
How my heart feels too
Your mom and I joined
And you were already here
I came onto the scene
A little late, I fear
Just four months old
When we first met
"Who's this stranger?"
You were thinking, I bet
You woke up crying
And your mom was impressed
For I put you to sleep
Up against my chest
I fell in love with you
And took your mom as my wife
I remember those years
As the best in my life
Boy, was I jealous
When you met your "real" dad
I wanted to grab him
And yell at him so bad :)
We are married no more
Your mother and I
When I think about that
Sometimes I still cry
Many years have passed
My how you've grown
You're in high school now
And have your own cell phone
And tho we now live
Two states apart
I love you so much!
With all of my heart!
So remember you this
Miss Ashley Nicole....
You're my pride and joy
You're in my heart and soul
And I don't care
What people think or say
It matters not to me
Your true DA
With lots of love,

Entering the cave of a wide open mouth
Pulling on the slippery uvula
Reaching for the nasal cavity
Taking a breath before leaping for the eye socket
Where I view the world that plows the field of future
Then taking dirt road veins to a house on 123 east Sycamore
Where Under the bed in my room is a cranial box of treasure
Opening the box exposes the parietal cortex
A single mother loving four children
A family of five on welfare
A mother in and out of the hospital
A ten year old boy visits mom on Sunday
A confused orphan on Monday
A mother enters holy sleep at thirty-five years of age
I love you mom
My son KJ often asks of you
As I close this box and return to the dirt road of veins, now paved
My moist cave will echo, only the love of a mother
I miss my mother on special occasions in my life, and often wonder what things would be
like if she still lived? However I have been blessed to have known her and I live a
prosperous life for which I'm thankful for.....

My cloak is no match for your brown eyes
You see my everything, no way to deny
Everything bare and naked like bone
Your warmth overwhelms my cold eyes of stone
No place to hide or runaway
Your arms scoop me up and carry me away
The scars I so desperately mask
You see right through, never meant to last
From the freshly painted crimson tares
To the lines that are barely there
With the hands that match my own
You heal me with more love than I could have ever known

Pure Love is True Love.. Which is From Above
There's many Forms of Love, On Earth
A Love From birth! From a Mom and Dad
Sisters and Brothers also have, a Similar Love
Like Mom and Dad’s, difference is-Between Kids
Then You'll Find, One of a Kind, True Love
Someone to share Your Life With
Then there's Pure Love, That’s Not a Myth
It's True.. Never Leaves.. nor Forsake You
Always There.. Always Kind.. Always True
One You can Always Always Trust and Turn to
Gives Peace of Mind.. Heart.. Soul
With Pure True Love.. You'll know with-out a doubt,
God Poured His Love out! Gave His Begotten Son
Pure Love was paved, For Us to be Saved
This Lights Fire.. Desire.. Hunger and Thirst after Righteousness
Once we're Born-again
This Pure True Love You’re Looking For, Is with Jesus
Come to Him.. While there's still Time
Ask Him In Your Heart, and Forgiveness sins
Believe Jesus died and Had Risen,
Then Your Born-again! SAVED!

She's the sparkle on the ocean
in the sunny summer's light
She's the diamonds on the snow
on a moonlit winter's night
She's the calm of the morning
before the world has come alight
She's as gentle as a breeze
on the quiet beach at night
She's the backbone of our family
for as far back as I recall
She's always patient, always cares
and always loves, most of all
She's so strong in her beliefs
as she's taught her girls to be
She's tough when there's a need
but it's gentleness I see
She always wears a smile
as though nothing makes her mad
She has a special giggle
how can anyone stay sad?
She's the closest thing to perfect
that I will ever see
If I live to be a hundred
I will never be like "SHE"

I do not know?
To a mom like no other
This I say without a doubt
For she is much more than a mother
She is a friend who is truly devout
She is someone special
Someone innocent and true
Although she can be quite feisty
If her frustration turns on you
She knows the value of friendship though
And the angel does shine through
When a friend needs help in a hurry
She will be there to do what she can do
Her back is never turned
To any that she loves
And if you had the chance to know her
You would see just what her love does
Her arms are always open
As well as her front door
When looking for a friend
No one could ask for more
But when it comes to our moms
And whose is better than whose
I hate to upset any ones mom
But my mom stands out the most!!!

You were only thirty years old on that sunny Good Friday in April. Easter around the corner and you welcomed me with loving arms, your fourth child, and the baby of the family. Warm, soft and gentle... swaddled me in a Peter Rabbit blanket you quilted special for me. The bond I have with you will never be broken. When I was born the cord was severed, but our hearts will always be connected. You are a constant reminder of the comfort I needed.
two hearts one soul
quilted me a warm blanket
thank you for my life
Toddler days came, then Kindergarten days gone, and then I became a young lady. Too young to express my love, yet too old to feel comfortable giving you words from my heart. That was about the age I started writing. You still have one of my first poems in a frame in the basement. You always had confidence in me...confidence that I can accomplish every goal I set for myself. I grew to a tender age in which I wanted to “find my way”, moving two thousand miles away... you slipped a tiny note in my purse while I wasn't looking... “Hi sweetheart, look up at the sky find a fluffy cloud and say “hi mom,” and I will hear you.”
it's always been you
believing in your daughter
thank you for my life
Wedding bells jingled and the honeymoon ended, and I was about to have my own little girl. My princess was born and your heart grew ten times larger. For now I had the chance to come to you, as a daughter should, to learn and grow as a mother.
If only you knew how I admired you, dear mother, if only you knew how badly I had
hoped to be a mother..a mother like you...
adoration and warmth...me
thank you for my life
The meaning of “Mother” in the dictionary is... “A woman who gives birth to a child.....” How can that be a definition? For you mother, are the reason why I am who I am. I was born and you loved me, now I pray to live and love...like you. I have sweet memories growing up, simple times and simple pleasures...you have given me the opportunity to learn how to be a mother, by following your example.
leading me through growth
following in your footsteps
thank God for...your life

Taking my hand,
You held it within.
As I began to stand,
You would grin.
When I was a little girl,
You would comb my hair.
You watched me twirl,
And bounce through the air.
As I grew older,
There were events galore.
I would get even bolder,
And want to explore.
You would let me.
If it would not involve crimes,
You would not disagree.
Over the years,
You have taught me so much.
Wiped away many tears,
With your ever so gentle touch.
I can not begin to express,
How much you mean to me.
Though we no longer have the same address,
You are still and always will be with me.
Although it may not show,
It is you that I am forever grateful to.
The one thing I will never outgrow,
No matter what I do.
So I want to say,
Thank you and I love you!
Today and every day,
For all that you do.

I do not know?
Long day at work and it already hurts
To know when I go home it will get nothing but worse
Im tired of going home to an empty fridge
If she knew she was going to be on drugs why have any kids?
Hurting me to see her who gave me birth
Drugged up on who knows what I sit and sob in a shirt
Constant accusations of things I never do
I'm going to stop right here wont even mention abuse
When I step into that house its like a cloud of sadness
Been going on for years no way to stop this madness
So many tears in my eyes its tearing me apart
Nothing can add up to the embarassment and shame in my heart
Expecially when all my friends have the "perfect mom"
Comming home to depression some nights I lay and sob
What hurts the most Is I dont want to leave
I want to "stay and help mommy" its sad indeed
I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night
Praying to god as I cry to make everything right
"Please lord help my mom work things through"
"Her addiction is getting worse I dont know what to do"
"For her no one is there I dont even think they're aware"
"Infact I am the only one who still even cares"
"Lord I sit and stare as her conditions get worse"
"I need some guidance tell me where to start first"
I lay back in my bed and cry myself to sleep
Thinking will she ever stop before it gets too deep?
Sunrises in the morning back up for work!
"Positive attitude" policy so I put on a smirk
Headed out the door for another long hard day
Forcing on a smile thinking "its going to be okay"..
