dark whispers

                                          dark whispers took shape
                                         shadowy mortuary chamber
                                              footsteps died away

a day of dark rain

a foreboding sound

          echoes in a thunderstorm....

                   mourners at a grave
                   a torrent of rain

           muffles the sound of crying....

watching crows scatter

one wet crow hunches

on branch of the brittle oak....

                  dark clouds hover low

    ~ ~ ~ ~

Haiku Calendar

Haiku Calendar
(January to December in the Southern part of the U.S.A.)

snow and more snow falls
cold wind and more cold wind blows
all branches are bare

starving and weak birds
a chill grips before sunrise
fall from bare branches

warm afternoon wind
thin morning ice melts on pond
a song bird is heard

poppies hide in grass
drink from early morning showers
bees drink from open buds

warm ruffles new weeds
clover covers budding ground
crickets find their song

hawk hunts small rabbit
green hedges give good cover
blood drips on clover

sun waves off dark soil
flowers grow only in shade
bees hive drips sweet wax

in shade cow chews cud
waits for dark to find water
sleeps on top of mound

east winds pull cool rain
quinces bright hill flowers thirst
streams roar then fall quite

squirrel hides acorn
digs hole at foot of oak tree
barks at gray wet sky

leaf fall from elm tree
vacant bird nest are exposed
geese sound over head

deer move over trail
fawns loose baby spots and jump
graze on holly leafs

Once Upon a Dark Fog

Where the trees once stood,
A dark fog covers their grounds-
                    A path through lost lives.

Constant Dark Rain, Sturzregen, Aguacero

Pouring from leaden clouds
Flooding houses and gardens
A constant dark rain

Aus bleiernen Wolken
Flut in Häusern und Gärten
Endloser Sturzregen

De nubes plomizas
Inundando casas y jardines
Continuo aguacero

Pitch-Dark Rain: Apocalyptic

Pitch Dark Rain: Apocalyptic vanished polar ice oceans’ currents all askew. . . . skylines blaze scarlet comes a scathing wind scorching land left not immersed. . . . waters turn crimson moans escape parched tongues prayers ascend to ashen skies. . . . pitch-dark rain pounds down

Midnight Feathers

~Midnight Feathers~

plume after plume
stuck in my heart
your eyes, deep as dark

morning lust
goosebumps in the afternoon
midnight smoke

plume after plume
plucked from my heart
together we feather

A Little Reflection

The notorious gang
Clearly stated in the news
Is now declared Saint

And a pretty slut
Infamous to everyone
Is now called Mary

This political thug
Who attacked lives' belongings
Is now made the judge

In a time like this
Where vices are made virtues
What's that all about

       Always watching you.
     He lurks in every corner.
     You'll think you lost him.
       He stalks you at night.
    Don't ever look behind you.
        Cause he will get you.
