Who Am I

I am the ring around Saturn
spinning words as particles of ice and dust
with the power to transcend

I am the original chosen to be right here right now
transmitting verbal frequencies
through speaking my thoughts into existence

I am the heir of omnipotence,
born with a direct connection to profound abundance
The one whose words will age, yet still have substance;
since there are no boundaries attached to my pen

I am constant energy
Translating personal experience into imagery
Vulnerable to tyranny,
yet i continue attempting to share some truth
through this abstract language of poetry

I am the core
I am that I am more
I am the Divine Presence that is the Source of my rewards

I am the green you get when you mix too much yellow with the blue
That shade of gold you get when the sun resides into darkness
and when it ascends in the dawn burning dew
I am the transition between the third and fourth dimension of time;
the love you feel when you realize how it feels

I am the poem that is abstractly direct
because I write beyond limits
absorbing frequencies from 3 to 8 hertz
through meditation for several minutes
I am the one bridging the gap between
the analog ascension and the direct connection to spirit
The one who is love
because I am a descendent of it

I am the rhythm that the wind blows
I am the beginning and the ending of stories told
about the universe and how miracles unfold
I hold the power to accept judgement from those who will do just that
Not knowing that I am them in the absolute reality of me
Judge that

I am knowledge beyond measure because that is my right
So I continue meeting the different parts of me
when I meditate and write
Who am I?

Faith, Trust and Irony

She's dressed in freshly laundered scrubs,
a floral top and pants pale blue.
There for a moment to hand me a gown,
and tell me what to do.

As I'm getting undressed, she checks on a man,
he's in the room right next to mine.
He's crying in pain and begging for help,
I hear her tell him that he'll be fine.

A few moments later, the crying has stopped,
as she leaves she turns out his light.
Whatever she did, it's done the trick,
he'll be able to sleep tonight.

She's back with me now and with her this time,
she has her tools in tow.
It's 3 in the morning and she must be tired,
but if she is it doesn't show.

Thermometer ready to check my 'temp,
lift my tongue and tuck it under.
As she wraps the black cuff around my arm,
I watch her and I wonder.

Working twelve hour shifts,
three days off then four days on.
Has she a husband or any children,
who miss her when she's gone?

Does she like cooking or singing?
Does she paint or like to read?
The needle, she pricks me, with such precision,
I hardly even bleed.

My IV's in place, my medicine given,
she says goodnight with eyes so kind.
Just as I'm drifting off into sleep,
a thought suddenly enters my mind.

To this woman I leave my health in her hands,
a serious matter, this isn't a game.
It strikes me as crazy just how much I trust her,
when all I know of her is simply her name.

Barefoot Boy, with a Fishing Pole.

A man I am and near my end.
I have other men to call me friend.

And women round me for the lust
And four leaf clover for the luck.

Beer or buttermilk to drink
And time I have to sit and think.

I have meadows which to mow
And I have crops which to sow.

I have men that call me sir.
I have work to be concerned.

I have obligations piled.
Work to do from mile to mile.

I'd trade it all, to be, you know
A barefoot boy, with a fishing pole.

To rest in the shade by a river bed
Soft grass to lay my youthful head.

Fish and skip stones on waters calm
And sleep out all night -when it's warm.

To unravel natures mystery there
Why the turtle wears a shell?

How the Oriole's nest is hung?
How the frog's croak is sung?

Why the Blue-Bell does not ring?
Why the hornet likes to sting?

My work keeps me shod like a mule
Only in dreams, youthful things I do.

When work here ends, to Heaven I go
To be a barefoot boy, with a fishing pole.

'...and then the lighting of the lamps.'
                                    -T.S. Eliot

Swallows flit and dart, the glow of evening
   settles o'er the fields, the day is fading;
sunset gilds the sky with glorious luster,
vibrant reds and golds, and softer shading.
Lamps are lit, the countryside is flickering
   in candlelight, the cows are coming home;
peacefulness descends in waves of twilight,
the animals are safe, no need to roam.
Horses tethered to their posts are waiting
   for the exertions of the day ahead;
farmers partake, extinguish their candles
to darkness, and then take themselves to bed
to pray for courage to endure their toil,
for days they spend in harness to the soil.

The Poetry of Hope

Every once in a while I lose myself
But I’m glad the dreams are coming back
I feel the thrill filling me
I feel my heartbeat rising
I see redemption rising in the days ahead
I still realise once again that I’ve earned another chance to begin anew
Still glad that it’s early in life
...and I can apply the lessons I’ve learnt before I’m twenty five

Phew! Boy, my heart’s beating fast
I shall no longer look at my past
For the past is just that
...opportunities gone with the wind, never to come back
I look towards the days ahead
I spend today to dream of the future I intend
For I know now tomorrow is bound to come
Today was but a dream ten years back
Had I realised then how soon today would come
I’d already be rich riding on the wings of independence
I pledge never to make that mistake again

Today I shall live like I plan
...and not like my neighbour Mr. Wright
For I know not how much he earns to spend the way he does
Today I shall not live like the society around me
For I don’t know whether they think ahead
...of the days that are bound to be raining with storms of emergency
I pledge to live as befits me
I plan to live today in a way that enables me to save
For now I know I was right ten years ago
But I hadn’t the courage to follow a route of my own
Now I’m determined ten years to come...
I’ll be riding on the unicorn of delight

I pay no care for what those here and there may air
I wanna be happy today in my moderate ways
Knowing all too well I’m headed where
There, in the future where my heavy dreams will float in the air
I’m no hater so for the rest of the players here
I wish all the goodwill and good wishes my subconscious can air

This Time of Year

The air is fresh, mornings crisp and clear
God I do love this time of year
Vibrant colors abound on the trees
Gracefully falling with the breeze
The workday runs from sun to sun
Until the "Bringing in of the crops" is done
I am a lucky man to live this life
Respect of my community and loving wife
Sometimes in life the land yields plenty
The blessings throughout the day are many
As I watch the sunrise to the east
It gives my soul a spiritual feast
For all my friends everywhere
To my Lord a silent prayer
To the north her majesty appears
For all to see beautiful and clear
Forever snowcapped and standing tall
Lady Shasta watches over all
To the south another blessing to see
The Sutter Buttes clouded in mystery
It was the Lord that gave them their birth
The shortest mountain range on earth
The coastal mountains to the west
Offers the sun a place to rest
Followed shortly for all to see
The "Harvest Moon" clear as can be
Then comes a moment that is hard
As I head my "Cat" off to the yard
My final ride of this year
My face accepts a single tear
My heart becomes full of sorrow
I inject myself with poison tomorrow
Thats the price that a junkie must pay
Years after he has changed his way
The reason is very clear to see
I put myself "At risk" to hepatitis C
I can't stop the fear from flooding in
What will it be like to hold a rig again
Through all the loss and all the gain
I reckon that moment will bring me pain
But through the pain I'm able to see
God has his angels covering me

This Load I Carry I Carry Not Alone

This Load I Carry… Along the road of life, I carry a large load… It feels quite heavy… As I travel a “bumpy” road. This load I carry is often difficult to bear… At times, I stumble… And caught “unaware…” The trials and hardships of life… I shall endure… I’ll try to stay on a path that is “safe” and “secure.” There are times, however, when I get in a hurry... As the storms of life often cause a “flurry.” During my travel… As I look up to the darkened skies… I can almost look into my heavenly father’s eyes… As God reaches down his arms so strong… He’s there to lead me when things go wrong. The Lord is there to help with my heavy burden… He’s also my guiding light… I am most certain! The Lord is my shepherd and is with me where I go… He’s brought strength and rest for my weary soul. This load I carry may be full of so many things… But grows lighter because of the love that God brings! By Jim Pemberton

Trees of the Lord

The trees of the Lord
Full of sap and evergreen
Planted by waters,

Spreading out their roots
Even when drought comes with heat,
Still, will yield their fruit.

Why, why, why? Is all I ask
Do you send these folk my way
There not the ones I'd choose myself
But I attract within hooray
You must have plans to work me Lord
Have I really gone astray

I try so hard to be polite
You send me those who groan
From trials of life
Crying painful body drones
But I face a war continually Lord
Spine crumbling pained bones

I questioned much over the years
Of those you sent my way
But each one has had effect on me
What will I have learned today
I want to tell of things you've done
And why I've learnt to pray

You sent me counseling to help
Through things wrong in my youth
Then church fellowship did help me through
When marriage went down sluice
A teacher friend taught me much
In assertiveness and truth

You sent me someone kind and true
When I'd thought life was gone
A friend of a friend a neighbors brother
Turned out to be the one
Who'd bring me home and settle again
Protect me and my two sons

You showed me work where I did learn
The skills to pull me through
In kitchens I did learn to cook
In schools help my children too
The staff within were pillars and rocks
In illness helped me do

You send others now to my house
Now I can't go out all alone
I used to sit and ponder sorry
I couldn't do things on my own
But now I have found new waters
I can swim and write a poem

I help others through my charity support
When I can get to phone
I can help in ways that others cant
And control load with able zone
I listen to those there struggling
Look at positives not moan

So I'm thankful for those folk you sent
Though I don't understand your process
But each time one has helped me to
Understand and cope it's noticed
So send someone to help I'll pray
And I'll listen as perfect hostess

Author's notes

Okay, so I realize as it stands it needs tweaking, but at the time the pen flowed and now it
needs some TLC... any ideas welcome, although I do not want to detract from the
meaning/depth. Any idea of rhyme was not originally intentional so please forgive I know at
present its dreadful!! Help please?

Spiraling of work and play

Endlessly at play,
forthright in work,
evolving to the tune
of passion eclipsed

Build a house with satin bricks
to etch a song from roots to mist
We all belong
Enfolded in rapture
In dreams, capture the wandering
of the soul-
allowed to breathe
To heavens it will soar

Made Man

Before his appointed place
And before his work and living,
There was a man
God did create.

Before he had a voice,
And before the woman was given
There was a man
That God did make.

This is it

So the dream is already real
At least the greater part of it
It’s now up to me
It’s time for me to show what I’m made of
The lights are on me
The audience of fate and opportunity are waiting
Will I put on a show
Or will I kill the show

Somehow I have to find a way
To bring all the best that I’ve got in me
Somehow I have to find a way
To bring out the best of me that I’ve always been dreaming to give
The audience is silent
The eyes of criticism are searching me
The eyes of appreciation are waiting to applaud me
Will I impress or will I fail

The anxiety is overwhelming
But still doesn’t change the fact that here I am
Live on the stage of life
Now I must act
…for all have paid to get their worth
I must throw all care to the wind and fit in the cast
The only care I should keep
…should be of the sequence in the script

So here I go
This is what I’ve been waiting for
This is what I’ve been yeaning for
This is what I’ve been practicing for
Now I shall perform for the applause I wish to own
I hope you enjoy the show

Leave the Ninety-nine

We must leave the ninety-nine
To go search and find
The one lost sheep
Wand'ring far behind
We must leave the ninety-nine
To go search and find
The one lost sheep-
Left behind (Chorus)

Just suppose one of you has a hundred sheep
Then loses one of them and begins to weep
Would you not leave the ninety and nine
And go after the one on your heart and mind
And when it's found you would hold it closer
And carry it home upon your shoulders
Then call all your neighbors and gather all your friends
Celebrating your sheep that's back in the fold again

Likewise there's more rejoicing
In Heaven up above
Over one lost soul who will repent
Than for the ninety-nine
Who are already found
To be righteous and so obedient (So..)

Now suppose one of you has ten silver coins
But then loses one of them from your collection
Would you not light the house and sweep the floors
Searching very carefully for what is yours
Would you not put away the other precious nine
And look in every corner until the lost one you'd find
Then call all your neighbors and gather all your friends
Celebrating you have your coin in your hand again

But don't forsake the congregation
And now's the time for visitation
To lead the lost ones to salvation
With God's angels in celebration

She's one out of many always standing tall
 through it all
She holds her head up and speaks out without
a doubt
I saw her spoke at a Velm's Hair Connction Convention
in 2004 n voting
I said wow so pofound I think i'll stick around for a while
She was sharing to the world and to the young people
that staying ahead is the key and sucess to life
Who wants to live in strife
Expressing that knowledge is power
Especially in society today
Could we have known that a plane would have hit
those towers or did we under estimate our powers
To be alert and always on guard
That bad news had to really hit hard
So many lives had been torn apart
Do we really live and learn what we are taught
So many soldier's we've lost in these foughts
So to them we give a silent moment from our hearts
Jackie, what carrissama you have and a frind to know
So to you this is our love we show
There's many more years for us all to continue and grow

The Work Of God

We look outside to see the sunshine,
On a day so warm and bright.
The sun shining down from the heavens above,
Is Gods everlasting light.

We know in our hearts rain will fall,
And feed the plants and trees.
What a wonderful job he must have,
To create life and to part the seas.

When the weather start to get a little cold,
He wraps us in his heart of gold.
He gives us warmth and comfort as needed,
Until he feels that he has succeeded.

The love that you feel when he is in mind,
Is what you should feel all of the time.
For God our Father, our keeper, our Friend,
Will protect us and guide us until the end.

Things shrouded in mystery
are quickly discarded
and simply not believed;
this false-hood staggers me
and others unjustifying them...
While knowledge increases,
faith,once invincible,decreases...
with only few to defend it!

Creation is the work of the Eternal,
everything testifies to that;
convinctions should be concrete,
not implausible and superficial...
They should be credible enough
to attribute it to His almighty hand
and anyone disapproving it,
denies calling it a myth!

O world so careless and rebellious...
indulging in sin without remorse,
you refuse to believe in a real God
who doesn't hide from anybody who seeks Him;
and He can end anguish and shame!
O world so preoccupied with wealth and galore,
this madness can cause you more harm than good;
He who created you has greater plans in store!

Creation is the work of the Eternal,
the entire Universe will be yours to explore;
and you'll be given dominion over it always...
and if angels are higher than you...fear not,
because you'll be rule over them...God
has predestined you to greatness!

O world so merciless and intolerant of fairness,
break free of deception and selfishness,
there are no planets more beautiful than this,
the Earth was given to Man for freedom and bliss!

A short time ago, my faith was not so strong
I just lived my life as well as I could
As time passed, it seemed as if I had less strength
And not enough faith to face the storms in my life

In trying to hold on, I realized I needed to cry out
To You, Heavenly Father, for more strength from above
I am so thankful You reached out to me with Your loving arms
And helped me work through my storms

As you held my hand, You guided me
You helped me smile through the darkness and the pain
Though there are many tears, my faith in You is growing stronger every day
As You make known to me Your will

I am weak, but You are strong
And I know with all my heart that You care for me
The storms may be rough, but I know they’re for my own good
That is how I grow

I will face many more storms in my life
But, oh, how I long to feel the joy and peace from above
I want to feel the very presence of my Heavenly Father
As You work in me, I wouldn’t have it any other way

Thank You, Heavenly Father
For being more than I need to face the storms in my life
Thank You for caring so much for me

Angelic Callings

Words on a page, sounds, Mother's calling
soft tones rose from leather tomes sweetly,
through rouged lips they tumble with love.
Lullabies call through the coldest of nights
as frost haloes about the curls, open-hearted,
eager, a child of contested love’s joining.

What would this chimera become now joined.
Oh what would be the result of this clarion call?
Angels wonder at the blend of unformed heart,
as words of Our Fathers resound so sweet
for the thrice kissed lips of child and overbearing night.
May all who come from the light delight in love.

May the child addressed bring comfort, bring love,
grow in service to the higher good and join
the wholesome hearts who warm the darkest night,
for bringing comfort, kindness, and caring is a calling,
which teaches every opened soul of sweetness
and heals the aching angry sores of forlorn hearts.

With words of joy, and a voice full of heart
let her hands touch, and sooth, each pain lovingly,
with the like-minded teachers and nurses sweetening
the balm smoothed upon the brow of man, enjoined
to heed the call, the ancient ever-present call
of majesty in morning and peaceful rest at night.

Each life presents its morning and ends in eternal night.
Each soul stores fonts of happiness and heartache.
Conception buds and blooms, sending out a clarion call
enjoining all who have the healing gift to garner love.
Gentle ones, who plant the seeds, tend the hearts join…
be the humble gardeners of the meek and sweet.

What task could be richer or path sweeter
than that of those who doctor, and nurse, and warm night?
Tender hearts and helping hands come together, join…
in the higher consciousness of he’s and she’s heartfelt.
Raise the banner; fly the unifying flag of healing love,
make this your onward path the Way, the Red Road your calling.

For what is sweeter day or night for each are joined,
heartily we love and live to heed these fine callings.

Much had I planned for your day
Forgetting that own I alone past days
Control of all time lies in His way
As the hidden future reveals by today
Then I know we are used to act His play
God alone make way
Even if we work till May
Glory of our work depends on His may
Best I wish you in your day
The best of life with you stay
Long life in your tale
Peace of mind with you plays
Fulfilment is the price I pay
From the hollowness of my heart I pray

Jack and Jill

Jack and Jill went up the hill to fetch some pails of water
Jack climbed some trees while Jill was picking some pretty flowers

After some hours Jack realized that he was wasting time
So he called Jill to hurry up before ‘tis half past nine

So off they went to continue their very long journey
‘Till they passed by an old beggar and gave him some money

When they both reached the well Jack and Jill filled up their buckets
Near the well were some berries which they put in their pockets

When they reached home their momma and papa were so happy
For dinner they had meatballs and soup and chicken curry

And five bags of bananas which a rich neighbor gave them
The good that you do to others will always be returned

I can not help but wonder
When God created the earth
How did He think of all the things
It takes to make it work

I know God is God
And He knows all things
But the things I've been a witness to
How do they work I mean

The lava boils deep in the earth
Why does it need to leave
And when it does break through the crust
It becomes a volcano to us

It has destroyed all in its path
What of the hole it leaves behind
The cavity eventually caves in
And then the mountains do begin

Mean while the surface heals itself
The wind and rain step in
The soils that are blown and washed in
Help heal the scars again

What of the ash from the volcano
As it infiltrates the air
As it settles it brings death
Such as ASH FALL in Nebraska
Where the rhino's met their end

And what of the earth quakes
As the earth seems to shake in pain
The cracks that they leave behind
Form gullies and ravines

The oil, the gas, the silver, the gold
The floods, the tornados, the drouths, the cold
Fires caused by lightenings sting
Are all under Mother Natures wing

The animals before man's time
Lived and died as was designed
And still the earth went on and on
And healed it self from dusk to dawn

And now that man is here
It has to work harder
It is there to heal the wounds
That man seems to father

Then we have the food chain
Land and water both provide
And if man doesn't watch his step
Fathom waits outside

Now and then it does rebel
It gets the upper hand
Tornados, blizzards, hurricanes
Volcanos and desert sand

The scars the wars do leave
Mother Nature does her best
If only we'd learn to live in peace
She could take a rest

And all the stupid things man does
Like building homes along a high cliff
Then when Mother Nature does her thing
Bet you can guess who takes the blame

The heavens, the earth were made by God,
And for eons they did survive
Then God created man,
If they don't work side by side
Neither of them will abide

I guess I answered my own question
I just had to use my brain
Thank You God for all Your help
I hope it's not in vain

God Has Made Everything Beautiful In His Time

“There is a time for each season…
To everything made…
There is a divine reason.

A time for purpose under
 the heavens above…
A time for meaning from a God of love.

A time to be born. A time to die…
A time to farm the ground
 under the beautiful sky.

A time to kill. A time to heal...
A time to tear down and
to build up with a passion and zeal
A time for weeping. A time for laughing…
A time to mourn. A time for dancing.

A time to keep...
A time to throw away.
A time to tear. A time to make amends today.

A time to get. A time for losing…
A time to keep. And to give
 away at our choosing.

A time for silence. A time to speak…
A time for each hour
 and day of the week.

A time for love. A time for hate…
A time for war. A time for peace at your gate.

How will you spend the time
 God has given to you?
What is your choice? What will you do???

May this be a time living in
God’s purpose and design.
He created you and made
everything beautiful in his time!

Everything is beautiful at this time of day,
Following a quickening morning shower.
And the huge orange pearl that is the sun
Is just beginning to shepherd its endless power.
The spirit of divine blessings carries me,
In a vision, to the center of this sacred lush glade.
There lays a stone walkway crossing a footbridge
In a course toward stairs of rock on a rising grade.
Then immediately before me, a shrine-like temple,
With finely carved work exhibited on every side,
It appears to be the craft of the Eternal Builder himself,
To whom the fairest beauties of nature have replied.
It bestows its stately head of glittering spires to the sky,
Resting upon its noble structure of stone buttress and turrets.
The remaining stairs, I bound, and through the gilded doors,
Into the cedar and marble interior, a work of matchless merits.
The artifacts are carved to satisfy the eyes of God,
And, for amenity, a cruciform lamp high in the ceiling of the shrine.
Comprising the interior are two large and lavish units,
The nave consecrated to the body and the apse to the mind.
The golden glow of the lamp exalted the light in my eyes,
So I turned toward the door and gingerly stepped down the aisle.
With head bowed, I walked through the gilded doors,
Feeling the tender glow of the light on my back all the while.

Have a Say

Knock wolf, I want you to lend me an ear.
I know, you are right there watching my side.
My temper you want, but it, I won’t tear.

Unlike you, I have learnt more than a slide.
All of which are not meant to ambush you,
But to strengthen me swims against the tide.

I am real, and I live on what is true.
The why, I can’t call black, purple or white.
And don't stand, thinking I haven’t a clue.

I am among souls begot by the Light.
Soul, when climb and fall, would double and rise.
Soul, that in the dark, would summon and bright.

Have you any hands with this soul, the bricks,
To build a wall, void of falsehoods and tricks.

No Job Can't Pay the Bills TRY JESUS

Here I sit, uncertain of what lies ahead.
I’m still wondering how my family will be fed.

I once had a job that provided a sense of “security.”
Now I don’t… And I have a lot of uncertainty!

I have unpaid bills, and I’m not sure what to do.
I’ve asked for help. But not sure who to turn to!

I get discouraged, and feel life “pulling me down.”
I’ve tried just about every job that’s in town.

The dreams I had, have been shattered and smashed.
At times, I feel like I’m just “a piece of trash.”

My wife tried to support me, the best that she can.
But she doesn’t know me… Or even understands!

Dear Jesus… You’re the only left that I haven’t tried.
There’s been many nights I laid awake and cried!

I read in the Bible, where your love for me is real!
When I call on your name... There’s a love I can feel!

Whatever happens, please help me Lord, to trust you!
Whatever tomorrow holds, may I still love you!

I know that you’re a foundation, that I can stand on!
Jesus is a friend! That I can always depend on!

Jesus, if I lose everything that I have or that I hold on to...
My I always remember your faithfulness
 and never forget you!

Here I stand… With my burdens lifted from me!
It’s because of Jesus! And how much he loves me!

I praise HIS name! And lift my hands to the sky!
He’s in control now! I don’t have to ask the reason why!

Jesus… Please take control of my worries and desires!
Above all of my problems, I lift your name up higher!
