12 Red Roses

I picked one rose and cried a tear,
It reminded me of you when you once were near.
I picked another, and of course it was red,
Things that you said went through my head.

The third rose was stunning ,and stood so strong,
Put the three together,in the words of a song.
The fourth rose was shinning, you could see it from here,
Put the four together, and wish i were there.

The fifth rose was sad as it drooped a little,
So i moved it in closer, to the middle.
The six rose said i can help number five,
By teaching him how we all can survive.

The seventh rose had a long and thorny shaft,
It had to be cut , so it would last.
The eight rose smelled like the summer air,
They sell bunches of eight at the summer fair.

The ninth rose said hey, don't forget about me,
Just because you have alligeries and i make you sneeze.
The tenth rose was happy to go with the bunch,
He dident want to end up ,about to be crunched.

The eleventh rose snuggled into the crowd,
Saying hey look at me ,im strong and proud.
The twelveth rose came in at the top of the pick,
Saying im the greatest because i look so slick.

Now that i have all twelve together,
Im going to add in a bunch of feathers.
Send them to you on wings of a Dove,
So that you will always remember that you are loved.

SUMMERWOOD COTTAGE

This early morning light,
full of pink blush
End of night
I feel the blood rush

The warmth of you,
sets my heart on fire
Soft breathing
This closeness,
I will never tire,
for I love you

This intense physical feeling
Your love to me
Your healing,
is what I need you see

This early morning light,
flickering through,
summer wood cottage
Good bye to the night
I love you too

This night has passed.............
So very fast
I want it to last,
the whole day too,
because you want it.............
as much as I do

This emerging pink sky
is for you and I
Endless sky,
for you and I to fly

This beautiful night
has now passed
Pink sky,
for you and I
A new height,
our love to last

I trace my finger
down your cheek,
letting it linger
It is you I seek
Yearning sigh,
under pink sky

Midnight blue,
has followed through,
with pink sky
Summer wood,
awaking nearby

Early morning breeze
at summer wood cottage
A new dawn,
rising through the trees

My love for you,
under pink sky
Here in summer wood
Forever too
This night passing by,
our love......... understood

First day of summer

First day of summer

It’s the very early morning
The summer’s just begun
Although the weathers kind of cool
I know that soon the sun
Will be burning down on me
But me, I love it all
I really love these summer days
They’re really beautiful.

It’s lovely in the early mornings
To see the sun come up
And hear birds singing joyfully
It overflows my cup
All this love that it brings out
As it shines on down on me
I love to see those Lorikeets
That feed from bottle brush trees.

How I love the beers and barbeques
In a garden filled with flowers
As I watch the many colored parrots
I could sit there for hours
And watch the sun that burns on down
Then rises from the trees
And I love it in the afternoons
To feel that cool sea breeze.

Memorial for Cain

'They' tell me, now, A husky-mix dog won't stay. Tie 'em up, pen 'em, Or the neighbor's complain. So, I didn't even Look for another Cain. But let me tell you, My Cain dog was Husky. Silver and grey and a 'from the toenails' growl... But HE stayed, no chains. Small town, Oklahoma, no leash. Everybody knows everybody; me and Cain, Bicycle riding, summer days. Grandma Dugan waving, Mr. John Long tossing out soup bones, For Cain. "Yonder's thet Earli and her dawg." "Boy! Pur-D-hot! Wisht'id rain." "Wonder whar she's going 'ta noon?" Nap, doze, one more summer gone... But...so was Cain. "Hey Earlie? Thet you, girl?" "Whar's thet big white dawg?" "Oh yeah?" "Too bad." and "How'd he die?" "You don't hardly seem like Earli, Without thet white dog, Cain." Ten long, hard years and lots of road. But no white dog's shoulders To share the good times...or the pain, And...I don't hardly FEEL like Earli, Without my white dog, Cain.

Saturday Morning

I woke up in a Saturday Morning
sleeping in too late.
It is a little boring
this is the mood I really hate.

I missed all of my favorite cartoons
its now 11 o'clock.
Maybe I should play with my harpoon
but I know I'll just be told to stop.

While I'm writing this poem
my brother comes up to me and says hey.
Then I go to my friends home
and that is what makes my Saturday.

Patch Of Summer Night

The summer is here,
sweet songs come forth
maybe there are no more doors,
hopefully this is the night of nights....

Let no one kill their rainbows
although, the world tries
They're not sure of the slow death of time
never really letting it go...

Cast aside the master of misrepresentation
They cannot say with certainty
why love that form and always flies away
with the eagles of tomorrow that never stays...

It was just a patch of summer night
warmth upon their skin so sweet
as they lay next to the other
with flames forming through their minds..

Working on a hot day

Working on a hot day

The day is hot, so very hot
But me I have to say ‘so what’
For there’s a job, that I must do
It is no laugh, I’m telling you
I have to prune those blessed tree
It be D day, oh, woe is me
I psyche myself to do this chore
It must be done, I moan no more

I take the saw, and out I go
Just wishing that a breeze will blow
And lower the temperature a mite
This surely would give me delight
I get stuck into this hard work
I’m not the type to try to shirk
In five hours, time I’ve finished it
Though I’m perspiring quite a bit

Then out it comes, an ice cold beer
It touches my throat cool and clear
I tell you ‘hey that beer was nice’
It touched my stomach just like ice
Then I drank another two
Or three of four, oh, quite a few!
As I sat there in the garden chair
Without me not one single care.

SUN AND MOON DANCE ballad

THE SUN AND MOON DANCE V Anderson-Throop 2013, June

 A sky-borne swan
 on the wing
I face true North
when it is Spring
Forget sore wings
or broken heart---
I heed a call---
tears me apart

No sweeter sky
that soars the mind---
 when sun and moon
 Dance side by side

North Summer nights---
the white nights call---
there is no time
to fret or stall---
no excuses, no one to blame
in heading North
There is no shame.

=======================
Chorus:
Thru White nights dance
both sun and moon
no lover's parting
Arrives too soon

In icy Spring
 Like Grandma's broom
The white night's sweep
Life into bloom

Midsummer night
Snow-dark has fled
And time has flown
My True Love's bed.

 Over these mountains
Like Grandma's broom
The white night's sweep
Life into bloom--

 Thru White nights dance
both sun and moon
no lover's parting
arrives too soon.

===================
 Hang on tight--
If you dare
Travel light,
for it is far.
Come, Darlin' Love,
No thrill soars past
My white North Nights

imagine time
that never ends---
 bodies entwined---
eternal blend

 CHORUS

 June 2013

Gazing Windward on a summer's Evening

Gazing Windward
	on a summer’s evening
Loch David Crane
1981

Whose waves these are, I think I know:
his home is in the sea below.
He will not see me stopping here
to watch the whitecaps come and go.

Enlisted sailors think me weird
-- civilian with no duty near—
they stop to wonder, one or two,
if they can help me out of here.

Up from the depths comes royal blue,
  which lightens into turquoise too;
the aerating bubbles rise
dissolved to see the cycle through.

Dark and deep beneath the skies
the pulses in the ocean rise.
So lonely, not a seagull cries;
so lonely. Not a seagull cries.

HEARTSTONE AWAKENING PART2

trees whispered her name
for a queen was born
from a faerie and an archer
who had the soul of a poet
the love of his moondust
in an early summer dawn
a girl came in to this world
filled with magic and the love of all things

 aquila took his bow
drew forth an arrow
which the feathers were brown and gold
aimed towards the sky
and let it go
the arrow arced high
burst in to stars
that fell
among them
a star to carry
a star to keep
a star to remember
a new queen
that would join
all living things
under the forests of richest green

 the summer queen
laid a single leaf upon the child’s chest
it glowed, then shrank
became part of her
this, i had never seen
for the leaf
carried all of natures’ magic
in an extraordinary child
whose birth
signified all that is good
upon the great good earth

the queens and kings
the princes and princesses
all of heartstone
gathered
to see a tiny girl
who had the power of a single leaf
that lay close to her heart
that she knew
of the wise ways
that what lies within us
means, you are never alone

our tiny girl
who, in her time
would become the greatest living being
lay quietly in the great hall
surrounded by magic and majesty
past kings and queens
from above
their hearts filled with wonder
most of all,
love

the leaf as i came to know
came from the great earthen king
who had passed on long ago
that there is always a past
a history
that can never be broken
it will always last
forever heartstone
never alone

we celebrated until dawn broke
sweet faerie music filled the air
darting lights everywhere
whispering trees spoke
i felt within my heart
as i held my moondusts’ hand
