CYANIDE

I drank cyanide from your lying lips,
Just for one touch, I’ve embraced rusted nails,
Pain remains, but all reason slowly slips.

The world has disappeared, a full eclipse,
Hanging trees reach out with their branches frail,
I drank cyanide from your lying lips.

Each curl you kissed is gone, quick, little snips,
Flames ate our letters in a blackened pail,
Pain remains, but all reason slowly slips.

Mail piles on the wet floor while the tap drips,
Walls pull me to corners that clutch and wail,
I drank cyanide from your lying lips.

Numbly like a ghost, our photos I rip,
But your eyes cremate and your smile impales,
Pain remains, but all reason slowly slips.

Love is weak, it beseeches, crawls then nips,
Yet your train left on sturdy, silent rails,
I drank cyanide from your lying lips,
Pain remains, but all reason slowly slips.

Shattered Glass

my reflection is lost within your eyes
and i long to see the me of day's gone
past, as the glass that once held more than cries

broken is the soul of that which could rise,
as i sift through the pieces of myself
my reflection is lost within your eyes

i see the fragments of me in your lies
but truth and healing are locked deep inside
past, as the glass that once held more than cries

i know even a rose in beauty dies
yet still i bleed myself dry from your thorns
my reflection is lost within your eyes

i turn and look for my own self to rise
but i lay cold in this bed of framed time
past, as the glass that once held more than cries

healing never comes, i bid my good-byes
and close my eyes deep within your own stare,
my reflection is lost within your eyes
past, as the glass that once held more than cries

mother WHO i HATE

Mother, mother can't you see?
How much are you putting the needle,
Deep inside of my heart?
I know the pain won't go away!
I know you are blind to see the truth!

Pain pain pain,
When will you go away?
Anger, hate & discouragement
Always comes my way!
What am I supposed to do?
I feel alone deep inside,
I feel the empty pressure against my chest,
In a prison of hate,
I am sick of the people who I love,
Betraying me & ruining the trust,
God above who sees your actions,
I hope He will never forgives you,
For you who keep on sin.

One day you will see
Throw my eyes & my pain,
One day you will stop on pretend,
Realize your mistakes,
It will be too late,
I will be gone far away,
I will never come back again!

Are you Lost

Are you lost or do you not want to be found
Probably both answers contain some fact
Is uncertainty the thing that has you bound

The very simplest things now see profound
With shyness you step forward then retract
Are you lost or do you not want to be found

My message rings over and over as I hound
Hoping someday you'll find yourself intact
Is uncertainty the thing that has you bound

Flying high before now thrown to the ground
Seemingly confused forgetting how to react
Are you lost or do you not want to be found

Don't you know the world isn't flat it’s round
Yesterday circles by to perform another act
Is uncertainty the thing that has you bound

Swim against the current and you drowned
Search your heart for what you really lack
Are you lost or do you not want to be found
Is uncertainty the thing that has you bound

My Love, I Have Missed You Since You Have Been Gone

My love, I have missed you since you have been gone. Into my memory is burned that infamous day. I have lost you, but I must carry on. Overcome with sleeplessness, I can’t help each yawn. What was sunny is now cloudy since you went away. My love, I have missed you since you have been gone. A king has been devalued to nothing but a pawn. You ignored each plea I submitted for your stay. I have lost you, but I must carry on. The morning dew still beads across the lawn. The tiny rainbows in each one went astray. My love, I have missed you since you have been gone. I am forever hopeful new love will spawn. However, each hope seems to fade and decay. I have lost you, but I must carry on. Darkness still holds an advantage over the dawn. All the colors in the prism have turned to gray. My love, I have missed you since you have been gone. I have lost you, but I must carry on. The Meaning of Most of My Words- first possible entry of Anne's contest

I sit and hardly have to ponder what words I write
There is more trouble keeping these feelings at bay
Sometimes I live in the day, but mostly it’s at night

Since our departure life has been a struggle, a fight
I have been forever devastated, looking for my way
I sit and hardly have to think of the words to write

I sometimes get angry at you and show some spite
I express here, but in person don’t know what to say
Sometimes I live in the day, but mostly it’s at night

I now view myself as a soul living by moonlight
Really, I’m sad, although I find the words to play
I sit and hardly have to ponder what words I write

Always there is someone telling me this is not right
Have they even ever really felt love, even one day
Sometimes I live in the day, but mostly it’s at night

The journey has been long and suffering is my plight
I am a lost soul of the night, riveted and left to sway
I sit and hardly have to think of the words I write
Sometimes I live in the day, but mostly it’s at night

penned 3/22/2013 by Wayland Bunch for Anne's favorite poetry form: Villanelle contest

Repetition, no not of form, that is forced, repetition of ideas, maybe even of some phrases is sadly unavoidable, without having to read all of my poems again. It is not intended and I may take further time to develop a better Villanelle, in fact I probably will, but I want to get this contest started lol.

Gnashing of Teeth: Memoirs of Hell's Lost Battles

Encircled in fire and pain, the angels sought flight,
Torrents of misery to thy soul, frozen and bound
Immobilized by very hand of God this night.

The feared legions down from below did fight,
Gave it some hell and brought heaven around,
Encircled in fire and pain, the angels sought flight.

Angels fearful to tread in this vapid absence of light,
Absconding to seek him, heavens hallowed crowned,
Immobilized by the very hand of God this night.

Losing lust for battle for fiery lands was the plight,
Downtrodden and fearing his plans ran aground and
Encircled in fire and pain, the angels sought flight.

But God had the answer for setting this all right,
Took the power of love, then hellish grins frowned,
Immobilized by the very hand of God this night.

Dear God it took your heavenly grace and sight
Of love, to see, yet he found them tired and downed
Encircled in fire and pain, the angels sought flight,
Immobilized by the very hand of god this night.

Villanelle: Lodged in our cockles Aladdin lamps hum

Villanelle : Lodged in our cockles Aladdin lamps hum

Lodged in our cockles Aladdin lamps hum
Always to heart stings awakened to soothe
That in lost coves and caves melodious strum

When in dark lonesome nights owl hoots knock glum
None to hear silent sobs shut in tight booth
Lodged in our cockles Aladdin lamps hum

Some bounceable dame caught in a doldrum
Each secret finger on the Djinn’s sharp tooth
That in lost coves and caves melodious strum

Some invoke the lordly prince staid and glum
And make him slave to every wish in truth
Lodged in our cockles Aladdin lamps hum

If this right to steal some solace and plum
Were this not a gift from high above a truth
That in lost coves and caves melodious strum

How right we then all the fanfare and drum
For those few well-bred and armed to the tooth
Lodged in our cockles Aladdin lamps hum
That in lost coves and caves melodious strum

reconciled differences

Sitting alone in the fog
Rendered motionless, and speechless
Trying to remember that lost feeling

Wandering in and out of madness
Gripping to sanity with one last dying breath
Sitting alone in the fog

Clinging to one last memory
Trying not to slip into unconsciousness
Trying to remember that lost feeling

Rain pouring down, burns the skin
Air too thick to breathe
Sitting alone in the fog

Relationship with the stars and moon
Bringing back the lost feeling
Trying to remember that lost feeling

Stitches lignin all major arteries
Pulling at these stitches in the dark
Sitting alone in the fog
Trying to remember that lost feeling
