Autumn Air

Refreshing that first breath of Autumn air,
As welcome as the first soft breeze of spring.
Goodbye to Summer and its skies so fair.

Adventure forth without coat if you dare,
As to their summer’s wear some folks would cling.
Refreshing that first breath of Autumn air.

A preview of the winter’s cold is there.
Migrating birds arriving on the wing,
Goodbye to Summer and its skies so fair.

The last of harvests all wild ones will share.
Not too long now before the snowflake’s sting.
Refreshing that first breath of Autumn air.

Soon, soon, the big retreat to winter lair,
After fattening in last big feasting fling.
Goodbye to Summer and its skies so fair.

Livestock will depend on farmer’s care,
With grasses gone, he must their fodder bring.
Refreshing that first breath of Autumn air.
Goodbye to Summer and its skies so fair.

Mean Time

The nights are long, the weather drear,
An eastern wind blows cold and keen –
This is the mean time of the year.

The clock’s go back and winter’s here.
Grey skies : the sun is seldom seen,
The nights are long, the weather drear.

Season of misty atmosphere,
Forgotten days that might have been.
This is the mean time of the year

When falling leaves will disappear
To leave a stark skeletal scene.
The nights are long, the weather drear.

The weeping willow sheds a tear
And silver birch looks lank and lean –
This is the mean time of the year.

Long icicles on roofs appear
Like gnashing teeth – a monster, mean.
The nights are long, the weather drear,
This is the mean time of the year.

Golden Yellow Trees

The blue sky peeks at me quite far away Through the warm golden yellow autumn trees They look like gold placed against the blue day This lively scene looks beautiful today The path goes straight forward where you see The blue sky peeks at me quite far away The sight is amazing, I truly say I walk the path of trees so I can be They look like gold placed against the blue day The row of trees glow with yellow this day The whole land here grows as if it’s so free The blue sky peeks at me quite far away I go down whistling and thought this way The sky with the trees sure does impress me They look like gold placed against the blue day I know the sight will stay with me I say Golden color of the trees delight me The blue sky peeks at me quite far away They look like gold placed against the blue day

After This You Needn't Regret

After this you needn't regret
Your life is bourn as your child today
Voudrais tu une cigarette?

All stakes are high upon this bet
Though grace and patience is all to pay
After this you needn't regret

In warmth and bonds may trust inset
The glow of knowing till egos play
Voudrais tu une cigarette?

Advice wears over for angst's outlet
Never rash nor heavy, never lose light in day
After this you needn't regret

In a wink and a worry in your Autumn set
A thought to the child now grown away
Voudrais tu une cigarette?

Then a day your child takes up the fret
You smile to see their berth and say:
After this you needn't regret
Voudrais tu une cigarette?
