Rodeo

It was a hot and dusty day
the crowd fidgets as it waits
bull dripping sweat in shute bay.

howdy folks the announcers say
Raging Tornado in shute awaits
it was a hot and dusty day.

Saddle slipping this and that way
only held in place by weights
bull dripping sweat in shute bay.

R.T. chews on his cud of hay
pawing the ground in anger waits
it was a hot and dusty day.

Flies out of shute now comes what may
saddle slips man evacuates
bull dripping sweat in shute bay.

Riders distract bull hold at bay
while man slides out and valuates
It was a hot and dusty day
bull dripping sweat in shute bay.

Three Little Pigs

I kept those little pigs alive
to stall the beasty, pursed to huff,
while piglets fled and still survive.

They live immortal and contrive
the hungry masher to rebuff.
I kept those little pigs alive.

Their only goal was to deprive,
escaping sometimes in the buff,
the piglets fled and still survive.

My story told again to five,
while kiddies shivered at the chuff,
I kept those little pigs alive.

In rapt attention they arrive
to hear the tale, told off the cuff
of pigs who ran and still survive.

My sound effects resembled jive
as kids' excitement gathered fluff;
I kept those little pigs alive,
the ones who fled and still survive.

Animal Love

The heron bowed to the kangaroo
With sparkling eyes he fell deeply in love
Her heart he tried with all his might to woo.

The devious crow offered her bamboo
She chewed it up and gave him a shove
The heron bowed to the kangaroo.

The hippo snorted saying howdy do
While the rain fell in torrents from above
Her heart he tried with all his might to woo.

A turtledove gave her a heartfelt coo
As he sat in a tree high above the cove
The heron bowed to the kangaroo.

The camel got his hump sprayed by chew
As the kangaroo spat out leaf of clove
Her heart he tried with all his might to woo.

The heron and kangaroo love may rue
Her lovers she did not treat with kid glove
The heron bowed to the kangaroo
Her heart he tried with all his might to woo

circle of sun - Fantasy contest

Rabbit’s sitting in a circle of sun
as though they were in school
watching a hula hoop being swung by one

round and round the hoop swung
mesmerizing in its swirl being watched by the cool
rabbit’s sitting in a circle of sun

I watched as they sat entranced in the sun
Playing silly games but always aware and nobody's fool
watching a hula hoop being swirled by one

Mother’s of the rabbits arrived at a run
food in a hamper with cold drinks for the supercool
rabbit’s sitting in a circle of sun

Chase was next on the cards “touch your on”
was the favourite, except for the ones playing boule,
watching a hula hoop being swirled by one.

Next time your near a fairly glen
tip toe in quietly and you might see these cool
rabbit’s sitting in a circle of sun
watching a hula hoop being swirled by one

Villanelle: The Dilemma of the Non-Violent - 19

Villanelle: The Dilemma of the Non-Violent – 19

Eat no life you cut open first to let blood flow
Bird on wing fish that swim crawls slithers all on fours
Dare you stare down the dilemma watch trees sole grow

Must you resist to save your life from luckless blow
Watch your wife and children beg for life on all fours
Eat no life you cut open first to let blood flow

The green dress our earth dons pump all lungs to glow
The milk that babies suck flows from grass-fed udders
Dare you stare down the dilemma watch trees sole grow

Even trees do ooze with sap pretend not to know
Oblivious the falling tree on insect throes
Eat no life you cut open first to let blood flow

All that stirs all that stands still must pain undergo
Astral bodies all keep moving on first set course
Dare you stare down the dilemma watch trees sole grow

No Jain who tramples on acariens* must rue
The day he was born on this earth rife with woes
Eat no life you cut open first to let blood flow
Dare you stare down the dilemma watch trees sole grow

My muse has gone to Hades

My muse has gone to Hades, is that hell?
I sing for her while my heart palpitates
Wow, I’ll be in demonic space as well

I think my little cat has lost her bell.
On my plight, I sit and meditate
My muse has gone to Hades, is it hell?

The cat can’t phone, if only she could yell.
I hear my thoughts and manic, agitate.
Soon I’ll be in demonic space as well

I wish that animals could use a cell.
All they can do is eat and procreate
My muse has gone to Hades, Villa Knell

I hear that poets should show but never tell
All I can do with wit is cogitate.
Will I fly to inner space as well?

I earn enough, more than the going rate
I use black pens and you should see my state
My muse has gone to Hades, give her hell
Oh, I am lured to ink dark space as well!
