Attention: WORD NERDS--------- The Eight Parts of Speech

---------------------- "Word Nerds" (like me)...
************Please Have Fun & Read VERY Closely:)***********

now and again
a word
sneakily obscure
approaches the fog in me
screams its name
suddenly
apropos adverbs appear
clearly
startling
perplexing
precarious adjectives
slick little nouns
caught hiding
beyond babbling brooks
sent to exile
defiling crooks
"pro"fessional nouns
jailed
beneath eight parts of speech
preposition'ed
pre'fixed subjects
elusive predicates
slithering suffix'ation
turn-ing key
delicately
through holes
freeing vocabulary
trapped
within prison walls
synonyms
pen bars
filled in the past
participles
plagued
like Job's tedious job
of siphoning
deciphering
homographs from heteronyms

words never mind...

they wind the mind
gliding
in the wind...

The Man in the Wilderness

Feeling like a lodger
In my own home
Thankful for my music
And my new found roam

Families and communities
They are just so hard to find
But in April 2009
I found the most precious kind

I found the name amusing
So the button i clicked on to see
The layout was very inviting
Like an open door should be

For in a matter of minutes
On first uploading a poem
This Highlander was content
He had found a welcome home

So many lovely writers
Poets who share their bless
No longer this Scotsman is
The Man in the Wilderness

Pledge of love and loyalty

This pledge that l,Ntando, make today serves
as my guideline that I shall follow
happily, ungrudgingly and tirelessly
for the sake of our love life.
Indeed l am well aware of the fact that
the beauty of this pledge does not only lie
in word alone but in action as well.

For that reason in every season
I shall show steadfast commitment
to the implementation of this pledge
with a great deal of astuteness.
I therefore commit myself to be your
devoted and delivering husband for
all the years l shall live with you
on this earth.

I shall treat you with the love and care
you deserve as my wife.
Indeed l shall treat you with
the distinction and dignity
that is befitting of the queen of my heart.
That body, that bone, that breath
shall be my mine to treasure,
for sure;
a dearness to promote and protect
for dear life…and love!
I shall stand by and with you in all the
situations of our life.
If the situation demands that we sail,
sail we shall together.
If the situation demands that we
climb,
climb we shall together.

I know very well what l am getting into:
I am getting into a marriage that is
overflowing with blessings.
This marriage- with our mutual
commitment-
will stand the test of time.
I know very well what I am getting into:
I am getting into a relationship that
brims over with a transforming power
of love.

This marriage-with our
mutual commitment –
will transform naivety into maturity
troubles into challenges
pretence into practice
pride into progress
bachelorship into companionship.
I pledge to be your steward and partner
for all times.

I shall value the consultations
and decisions that we make as
husband and wife.
As head of the family I shall do nothing

to derail our love train for anything else
least of all for personal and selfish reasons.
Now and forever

I am your lawful and loving husband…
This pledge that l, Nothando, make today serves
as my guideline that I shall follow
happily, ungrudgingly and tirelessly
for the sake of our love life.
Indeed I am well aware of the fact that
the beauty of this pledge does not only
lie in pronouncements but in practice
as well.

For this reason every season
I shall demonstrate untiring love
and loyalty to you;
a love and a loyalty that is a living
embodiment of our marriage vows.
I therefore commit myself to be your
honouring, supportive and loving wife
for all the years l shall live with you.
I shall treat you with the love and care
that you deserve as my husband.
Indeed I shall treat you with
the dignity and nobility that is befitting
of the king of my heart.
On my mind it is always fresh
that I am the flesh of your flesh.
Green or grown

I am the bone of your bone.
I know very well what I am getting into:
I am getting into a relationship that
elevates me into a kingdom of wifehood.
I shall endevour to put my family first
with all the rights, obligations
and privileges that come with wifehood.
I shall endevour to wipe off and ward off
loneliness and lostness from our relationship,
seeking nothing but your companionship;
banking on your stewardship,
sinking together any hardship.
Since you are mine
I shall not do anything else to undermine
our relationship for personal
or egotistical
reasons.
Now and forever
I am your lawful and loving wife…

Too Much Nasty Poetry

I don't like nasty limericks.
I don't like vulgar words.
I'd rather write of better things,
like maybe watching birds.

So many poets feel the need
to write such graphic things.
The art of poetry to me
is making words that sing.

It's easy to be nasty.
It takes no brain at all.
But I can't keep from wondering
where you get the gall.

My poems may not be 'genius'.
I'm sure they don't compare
to many other writer's work
but mine, I like to share.

No matter if you're ninety
or if you're only nine
you needn't feel ashamed to click
on poetry that's mine.

Maurice Glenn Turner and Randy Thompson: Fallen Heroes

Glenn Turner and Randall "Randy" Thompson were the best police officer and volunteer firefighter in all of Cobb County, Georgia, until March 1995 (WWF Monday Night Raw and WWF Wrestle-Mania XI) and January 2001 (Raw Is War, WWF SmackDown!, and the WWF Royal Rumble) when their lives were taken away from their loving families by Julia Lynn Womack: aka the "Black Poisoning Widow." It seems that it was these two guys in uniform who married the same woman, especially when she was after their money, totaling hundreds and thousands of dollars, even in life insurance. Glenn and Randy have been killed by a deadly liquid by the form of Etheline Glycol rich antifreeze; Lynn Turner used it to spike that of lime-flavored gelatin (green Jell-O), sweet iced tea, and chicken noodle soup. Now, how cold-blooded was that? But to be honest, Maurice G. Turner and Randy Thompson, God rest their souls, really never should've met this gold digging assassin named Julia Lynn Womack (who's now dead) to begin with. Their families, their colleagues, and the citizens of Cobb County, Georgia, they still don't understand why the lives of these two men have to end in a tragic manner. They've got a bunch of whole lives ahead of them. But now that Lynn Turner, who killed both her police officer husband and her firefighter boyfriend, is dead, she can't hurt anyone else ever again. Randall and Glenn are no longer with their friends and families (including their moms), but their spirits will live on forever and they'll see their loved ones in heaven one day. And as for Julia Lynn Womack-Turner, she got what was coming to her and may she burn in the giant pit of inferno for all eternity.

Live for Tomorrow

Her writes are touching
They bring tears to your eyes
You can sense her fears
From the woman inside

Through the eyes of another
Saying " the time has come "
To begin the climb
Towards the sun

The other side
Under the moonlit sky
Suicide, feelings of
The questions, why?

Please forgive me
Today's the day
I'm finally free
No looking back for me, as I pray

It's now or never
Please remember me
My hidden thoughts
Will set me free

I have a dream
So far away
I believe it's time
Don't cry when you say
Goodbye

   I wonder, I remember
   Life is to short
   On reflection
   The above I abort

On the wings of an angel
   I will travel one day
   But until that time
   This lost soul will stay

   Dear Lord
   Is there a heaven?
   A little precious angel says
   My family, love and faith
Will see me through my days

MEMORIES OF A MOMENT

The first kiss of love's bliss-
could lips be soft like this

Our first-born's finger-nails,tiny-
  growing a bond,none can un-free

The first word of child,so small-
   begins a never-ending call

That first moment of re-born life-
   birthing a wholeness,free from strife

The first picture in my mind-
  ignites experiences,of a spiritual kind

The first poem,on paper penned-
that was to bring many mutual friends

TO SHAKESPEARE WITH ADMIRATION

He was the bard from Stratford, and as a teenager
he helped his father in his trade; he married and had children
and became the most popular and admired play writer
in all England...acting was also his other pleasurable passion.

Curious Queen Elisabeth was one of the thousand spectators,
who came to see him in the Globe theater...she shed tears,
and was stunned by the performance of his timeless plays,
and yet, some of his fellow-poets criticized him for his writings!

I wish I had lived in that Victorian era so intellectual and refined,
and had met him in person and had showed him my ample admiration;
I would have asked him the secret, which made him so legendary and loved...
and he would have whispered it to me, to make me revel in that revelation!

I have read his inspiring works, and tragedies rampantly occur
from " Romeo and Juliet"...the Verona's immortal lovers, through" Hamlet "
whose insanity was undoubtedly caused by the specter of his father;
and why didn't Shakespeare choose less dramatic plays not ending in death?

He wanted to teach us indelible lessons to show us how the human spirit
can be passionate, adamant, loveless, envious, cruel, unfair and treacherous...
to outline all kinds of guilt: from murder to envy so well-expressed with eloquence;
it's no mystery to anyone how he conjured up such plots with grief, madness and wit!

Shakespeare was no ordinary kid, and he played with his siblings on Henley Street,
neighbors saw him trot to his grammar school, later he would make everyone weep;
early in adolescence, did his prodigious mind envision one from a vague thought?
It's no wonder that he is widely read even today...hear his speak, he'll impart worth!

I know I can Be a Bad Man

Yeah I know I can be a bad man
But I just want people to understand
I do what I must, I do only what one can

I think about life, I think about my everyday strifes
I know I love you girl you the mama of my children
You already like my wife
I know I have cheated from time to time
but you the only one who I sleep with at the end of another long night

Yeah I know I can be a bad man
But I just want people to understand
I do what I must, I do only what one can

I know I like to drink yet it feels like I love that alcohol
This liqour and beer is my number one downfall
If it werent so then the crazy *****in my life now I would have never saw
I would have never ended up sitting in prison for breaking the law

Yeah I know I can be a bad man
But I just want people to understand
I do what I must, I do only what one can

It's alright now though because Im back in school
I know I struggle at times but Im reframing from being another lost fool
I know it bull-*****even though many youngsters think that *****is cool
But they don't know if they been where I been and still want to do what I do

Butterfly

I once was like a catipiller young, naive, and new
Always living from my heart not knowing what
else to do.Easy to take advantage of, that is
just the case, people would walk over me
like I was their dirty used up suitcase.
Now I feel a newness coming, like a light
shining from the sky, colors fill my world
and I know I am blooming into a butterfly.
Purple,Pink, Blue and Green I can feel them
flowing through. Colors of the rainbow raising
me into full bloom. Wise and strong I am becoming
My faith leads me where I need to go giving me
insight and wiseness for only me to know.
I have not done this on my own you see
I have been guided by God and Angels
on this Earth. Wise words the wisdom at
it's best comes from a wise lady who
seems to know me best. Lucky, I am
to have her in my life, she always shoots
it straight and tells me like it is, knowing
her words touch my heart and gives me tons of faith..
I feel like flying through the sky or climbing
a tree way up high. I feel like observing the
world just like a brand new butterfly so as I
Bloom I become Anew something unlike the past
Smart and wise beautiful on the inside and outside
a touch of color here a touch of color there
makes me glow and become a beautiful blooming butterfly...

I am not SAD

I am not sad!

While most of my poems may be SAD
They reflect the experiences that I’ve HAD
I promise you I am not MAD
In fact most days I feel GLAD

Whenever I do feel DOWN
Or sadness is AROUND
When pain and fear are ABOUND
I write to release my inner FROWN

My writing is the skeleton KEY
To all things that make me - ME
It opens the door and sets me FREE
To document my life’s JOURNEY

I write today to tell you SO
Just in case you did not KNOW
My memories are clear and PLAIN
On my journey there’s both joy and PAIN

SOME OF IT I JUST CAN’T EXPLAIN
SOME ANSWERS I MAY NEVER ASSERTAIN

Happy memories are all I SEE
When I reflect on my girls and ME
They fill my heart with such JUBILEE
And now my life has UNITY

Alaya and Saen adore me SO
I love them and this they KNOW
They repaired my heart and helped it GROW
In their eyes I see love’s GLOW

A love like theirs is INCOMPARABLE
This makes the pain of my past - BEARABLE
They fill my spirit with joy and GLEE
They are the reason I was meant to BE

Each and every day I PRAY
I look in the mirror and I SAY
Thank you lord for this DAY
Watch over my children as they PLAY
And please show me the WAY
To be a better person - TODAY

This eases the sadness in ME
So I can live and be HAPPY!

Poets Passion

Poetry soup satisfies so well,
Comments making hearts swell.

A long awaited return to grace,
A writers haven, a sacred place.

Each one telling their own story,
Hoping for prestige, honor and glory.

Poetry flows the way it wants,
Bursting from one's own taunts.

Belief in those who believe in you,
A poets passion always holds true.

Dedicated to my loving soup family...

Crucifier (poem story)

On the day He died, I felt ashamed.
Quiet and remorse, I wanted to remain..
Why did I follow the ways of the worldly men?
When they mocked, scorned and spit on him?
I was the cause for what He went through.
I tried to find comfort; but, guilt was all I knew.
I couldn't eat or sleep, knowing He was dead.
Wishing now, I could take back everything I did or said.
When I had no one, He took care of me.
Set in my ways, his caring; I couldn’t see..
When I was ridiculed He didn’t take part.
Every kind thing He did, came from the heart.
He showed love to the rich and the poor.
To the lonely and the broken hearted, He restored.
How could I have been so prideful and blind?
How could I have been so cruel and unkind?
Sadness and guilt would not give up.
I wanted desperately to have taken the cup.
Why did I point at him and yell “Crucify!"
Part of the crowd, I sentenced him to die!
Oh, my Judas heart what have I done!
Oh, heavenly Father, I have betrayed your Son!
Crying and weeping, my heart slowly withers away~
So ashamed of what I took part in and witnessed that day.
As the days and nights slowly wore on.
I knew in my Judas heart what must be done.
In my heart I no longer wanted to live.
My own life, I wanted to give.
I bowed my head, feeling laden with sorrow.
What is the future of man's tomorrow?
I lifted up my face with tear stained delight.
There beyond me a beautiful luminous sight.
Was that Jesus standing there? Or was it a dream?
I wanted to run and tell him those things I said, I didn't mean.
I walked up to him crying and at his feet I knelt.
He looked at me, knowing my heart; what I felt.
He showed me his nail pierced hands~
Why He still loved me, I didn’t understand..
What I did I could no longer face.
But, in loving arms, I realized I was saved by his grace.
He said, He loved me and all men still.
That He died because it was His Father’s will~
That, through him, all men might be saved.
I knew then, in place of ours, his life He gave.
That all men may repent and be forgiven.
To be in heaven eternally~
Not In Hell, forever condemned.
To reign with the heavenly Father~
For all eternity, where unconditional love abides~
To be with Christ forever~ by His side.

The Red Symphony

A self-written poem begun in Christmas Time,
While it tasting the soup and looking for rhyme.
In the kitchen, neighbor with the quiet tomato paste,
The sorcerer's apprentice, a poet pretty well placed
Near Soups (ciorbe) with characteristic sour taste
With luminous face and much grace added the rest:
As he was sipping and tasting from raw and cooked.
His group had a passionate look at what was booked
For the dinner: These might be meat and vegetable soups.

They had to choose till the coming of the helping troops
For the pig`s sacrifice rite, old mixture of joy and grief
Under the hot and long debrief of the pleasant smell-thief
Tripe soup (ciorba de burta) hard prepared from beef,
And calf foot soup (ciorba de vitel), with green-gold leaf
Pickled soup (supa de moare) with pork and big rice;
But use the dice to decide between spice and allspice.

From the slaughtered pig the village` families prepare:
Carnati - sausages kept in special aromatic smoke
Of wet fir and oak burned at small fire as enjoyed by folk;
Caltabos - sausages made with liver sprinkled with beers;
Toba and piftie - dishes using pig's feet, head and ears
Suspended in aspic like a frozen symphony in red
After cups of plum brandy and before going the bed
Tochitura - pan-fried pork to bid it a farewell, twice
Served with mamaliga - palesta , and red wine with ice,
Or boiled wine with pepper and cinnamon against frost;
So that the pork can swim and the verse were glossed;
Piftie - inferior parts of the bashful pig, mainly the tail,
Feet and ears, kind of meal like taken from a fairytale
In which all are cooked and served in a form of gelatin
In this naturalist field, all the poets smile like Mr.Bean;

Jumari - small pieces of pig meat are fried and tumbled
Through various spices if after all, you are a little troubled
And may falter some poetical from the famous songs
Like "So, good people drink…" couples of diphthongs
Since Saturday to Thursday and make colorful the gray.

This poem was written in the Night of Tuesday to Friday.

( And later we`d find that the housewife had covered with it the pickles cucumbers jar.)

It's Just One Word

Am I the only one who's feeling there is something very wrong with all of this ,
I can't seem to get anybody to listen not even when I raise my fist.
How can they not see what I see ,has everybody lost thier mind I say,
Why can't they see what it is that is making them act this way.
Have you taken a look around to see there's something that has changed,
When you look into peoples eyes Lord how you can see the rage.
No compassion for thier fellow man as if they have never ever cared,
For the future of mankind and how we all should be aware.
Saw a friend of mine the other day he was acting a little strange ,
I can't help but wonder just when , how , and who's the blame.
This power and greed is consuming us all we just can't seem to stop
Stepping on our brothers & sisters as we race to the top.
Where's the love ,the kindness ,the hope and faith we use to live by,
How we allowed ourselves to sink so low I' will never know why.
Still I will contunue to spread the word which has always been,
Be good and love one another as you are learning not to sin.
Please don't be another wreck that has been pushed to the side ,
If you' listen to the one and only word you will know why.
We will all band together so we can stand tall and free,
It is one simple word and that is love how could you nor see.

One Among Many part 1

Chapter 1
As but only one young lost man in a great land I sometimes don’t want to see what I see in life but death causes me to look. I don’t want to hear the things I hear but have to admit the things here that I’ve heard. I don’t want to be guilty today it’s why I continue to strive past my past for innocence in the near future. I don’t want to feel what I feel but after another day in this dark place has gone by I can’t hide what I have painfully felt. As but one young man I wonder why I question others motives and still can’t see the answers to my own as if I know all the answers to life when I don’t even know the true cause of my own. I wonder why I am happier at times but more often than not why I continue to be sad. I look for ones in groups of twos and get lost in groups of threes, but don’t get even me started on the groups of fours. On the outside world I am lost yet inside myself I know I am found, I holler silently at night while I quietly pray during the day. As but only one young man I can only do what is best for self-first if I want to start making a difference for two.
Sometimes life for one can be fun, but on the reservation more often than not it is boring and dull. On the reservation I found serenity and solitude in the hills but I also found old savages and young Satan’s in the towns. I see beauty and peace in Mother Nature but I also found violence and ugliness among my very own in the neighborhood. I see not what I see and I think not what I think for I feel what I see which leads me to think. I choose rather to just be rather than not be what other people want me to be. I see what I see because I haven’t really got a choice in what I will see, I’d rather choose to just say that I saw. Outside people can’t make one see what I already choose not to see for I see what I see rather if they want me to see things their way or not. I can’t feel what they feel unless they feel what I feel and live where I live and be where I am to know where I truly am from to understand the thoughts and feelings of not only a young native of struggle, but as a person worldwide no matter the skin color.

That Crazy Old Doctor

There've been times in my life
where I've just had to say,
"I must, give it all up,
for, it's that kind of day"!

I must, really say this
 I really, just must;
 if I didn't say it,
 then, it wouldn't be, "just".

There's this crazy, old man
 we'll just call him, "Doc";
 who fills up blank pages
 with, "poetical talk".

He's scribbled, and scrabbled
 'til way, past bed-time,
 trying to finish each poem
 and, complete every rhyme.

If he hadn't done this
 he'd surely gone, "mad",
 his nonsensical nature
 was, all that he had!

No hidden agenda
 when first, he wrote down,
 each poem of nonsense
 to erase a childs' frown.

And, Doc always did this
 manipulate, "clues"...
..so that , all of his poems
 were merely geared, to amuse.

He loved to let nonsense
be the order of the day,
 and, with every poem
we all smiled, the same way.

His only intention
was to set our minds, "free",
 his style, just did it
 so, poetically.

With his own tongue, in cheek
we knew we'd been had,
and his poems rhymed perfectly
proving he was no, "fad"!

The volumes of topics
 that Doc's written of,
 included all that could be
 written.....below, and above.

He's written of magic,
 puzzles, and games...
 ..with, strange little creatures,
 with, strange little, "names".

The, crazier his story,
 the saner he'd feel,
and, the more that we heard
 convinced us they were, "real"!

His poems, were genius
 as he weaved us, a tale;
 with, nonsensical rhymes
 that did so, without..."fail".

"Old Doc", has quit writing
 he's up in heaven,
 this year, his birthday'd ...
make him, a hundred, and seven!

He's given advice,
 taught what we must do,
he said, "Be who you are...
 ..no-one's youer, than....you!"

He's maybe still writing
 in, heaven....you see,
 that'd be just like him
as, that's who he must, be!

That, silly old doctor...
 ..as silly, as a goose;
 we all loved his poems,
 for, we loved Dr. Seuss!

Lasting Freedom

In the beginning I started off as just another nobody from another nowhere trying make it to somewhere as a somebody as everyone else. In the beginning I was BORN TO LIVE TO DIE, but in the process I was BRED TO LEARN TO SURVIVE. I became a CONVICT OF CHRIST through PAINFUL PLEASURES of my many struggles and strife's. I was a SINFUL SAINT but more of a sinner, mainly a loser and never a winner. I was once considered one of the best, now days I'm just trying to be lower than the rest, unseen in plain sight , NOTHING MORE NOTHING LESS. I became lost in time through my many self-taught TRUE LIES of yet another LOST FIND growing up where few DREAMS LIVE , but many more DREAMS DIE. I soon got LOCKED UP but it was very educational because I LIVED IT and LEARNED FROM IT. I was given a choice to LIVE FREE OR DIE INCARCERATED, so I made that choice to be more loved than hated, so I became UNDER LOVE and OVER HATE, I learned to stop wanting and actually appreciate. Its been hard to change so I became a POET OF PAIN. That's when I learned the truth about those who think their dying for something but they might as well be living for nothing, because I learned that real truth comes from LIVING FOR SOMETHING because I ain't DYING FOR NOTHING. So now I am forever a W.O.L.F. once a warrior of lost freedom now trying to stay a warrior of LASTIN FREEDOM you know what I mean.

My Thing

Writing is my thing. My drug of choice. My bling bling.
I fall in love with the similies and mentions of passion while wrapping my body in
sentences.
Creating complicated rhythms and making them simples as instances
Every line a differenet emphasis
Commas, explinations and periods
Sometimes rhyming and sometimes not
Stopping to puff so my thoughts can lock
Feeding hungry souls starved from starvation
Creating new creations
Making people feel the sensation as I build up to mind elevation

The quest for knowledge is not a game
Spoken movements teach about the pain
I write to ease the pain
Rhythms run deep

Deep underneath clouded visions of unspoken truth lies a message
a message...a message that should be taught accurately to the youth
About the struggle of a people that was misued
abused, refused, confused, raped, beaten down
uneducated
portrayed as clowns, coons, niggers, fools
Modern day niggas and goons
Wake up!! Did you hear the news?
You are responsible for you!
Imagine how it would be tho
If we were uninterrupted and brought overseas yo
Uprooted from a line of royalty kings and queens
Africa unite is all we'd sing
Rhythms run deeper into the seams of my being

I write to ease the pain of the oppressed
I write to celebrate their success
I write to educate the rest
The message..The message..The message is very clear
No time time to waste
The time is NOW
It's here!

My Very Own Seeds

My time keeps ticking/ Fresh outta mind prison/ I still have a hard time trying to listen/
I keep on walking yet I keep on tripping/ The pain in my brain heart thickens/
Redemption for change Im still missing/

Im still on the reservation/ Dont any of my own people see the alcoholic devestation?/
More self destruction than self creation/ Addicted alcholism among our own we keep making/ Young hearts and souls everyday we be breaking/ Most of us young souls around here are rarely forgiven because we are to busy been forsaken/

This is my own mind made prison astrology/ Im hard like a rock involved in geology/
Dont any of my people understand this poverished prison geolgraphy/
Our destruction can be seen in NAT GEO, dont you people see it in the photography/
Time is no joke nor is it alive yet somehow it can still bleed/
Im still out of prison yet in my mind it still doesn't feel like I have been set free/
I know my out out but I dont have the keys/ In or out it still remains hard just to be me/
Everything now days in life cost a fee/ Its not my culture its the American Greed/
I guess now days I gotta leave a trail, I gotta PLANT MY VERY OWN SEEDS......

MUM ...

WHERE DO I START? I DON'T THINK THERE IS WORDS , TO EXPLAIN HOW I AM

FEELING ABOUT THE LOSS OF YOU... BUT I WILL USE ALL THE STRENGTH YOU HAVE

GIVEN TO ME , SO I CAN GET THESE FINAL WORDS OUT THE GUILT , SADNESS AND

GOD TAPPED YOU ON THE SHOULDER,

HE WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO KNEW,

DON'T COME AT ME WITH ANSWERS THAT CAN ONLY COME FROM ME,
DON'T TELL ME HOW MY GRIEF WILL PASS,

DON'T STAND IN PIOUS JUDGMENT OF THE BONDS I MUST UNTIE,
DON'T TELL ME HOW TO SUFFER,

JUST TO HOLD MY HAND AND LET ME CRY,
AND SAY, MY FRIEND I REALLY DO CARE
Mom you mean the world to me
It’s hard to live without you ,You were always by my side
Through thick and thin you helped me

When Love Hurts

When love hurts, God heals
When love hurts, God feels
Your pain too as you do now
Pray and He'll show you how
When love so hurts, how to deal
The deep pain is oh so very real
God'll cry too for your tears and
It's true about footprints in sand
Reach out and He holds your hand
In kind your mind will feel His love
Hurting'll subside from God's glove
I know of true hurting, how it feels
Accepting a hand of cards He deals
Painful nights crying, I've had many
But God's blessings, I've had plenty
That I will have better days ahead, I
Know and no longer have need to cry
When life itself hurt I questioned why
But I survived and my faith didn't die
For yesteryear's hurts, it will subside
The tears still come once in a while
But the love memories, I can smile
For God's so in His glorious Kingdom
For Kingdom come, thy will be done
And done will the pain be, away it'll
Go, like wood off a creative whittle
Beautiful to see, as days coming be
God cures all hurt, just wait and see
My mother, dad, brother, baby too
And for me, cried like baby boo hoo
But I wiped away the tears and have
Been blessed like a cow and her calf
Help do words of praying and writing
More than once, had vision - sighting
Not just in dreams, but for really real
I was in such pain, it was just surreal
Once it was Mother/Son, Mary/Jesus?
Through Him I pray for me, bejezzus

A WOMAN OF VIRTUE

For nine months
With love and pain
With joy and suffering
In her womb she carried me
A mother she is
And a woman of virtue.

When there was no one, she was the only one
Even left alone, she never leaves me alone
Indeed, she’s a mother
And a woman of virtue.

When toddling, she cared
And still directs when I could run
She is a mother of the child and the adult
In her thoughts are all, even the descendants to come
Many names will I call her; “A mother of all”
And a Woman of Virtue.

Teen Pregnancy 4: The Cradle Robbers

Teen boys are always getting teen girls pregnant, but older men, impregnating underage girls? When will teen pregnancy stop? It seems that these underage girls have been seeing these men in their 20s or 30s behind the backs of their moms and/or dads. And the next thing everybody knows, one day later, those teen girls, they will have wounded up getting pregnant in an instant. No matter what the parents do to prevent their teen daughters from ever becoming mothers at an early age, let alone 15, no matter how hard they try, they just won't listen. And no matter what the moms and/or the dads will have done by showing their teen daughters the dangers of teen parenting, they still won't listen. These older men have always been messing around with the underage girls (ages 14, 15, 16, and/or 17) and are always getting getting them pregnant. What's so cold about it is that their parents will have been seriously upset about the fact that these grown men have robbed those teen girls of their innocence and their futures. And instead of teen girls going to college to become, teachers, lawyers, and/or doctors, because of these grown men, those teen girls will have been forced to have dropped out of high school to take care of their kids. See, there's a problem with those underage girls: they just can't concentrate on their education, thereby getting their high school diplomas and/or college degrees. The girls really should've waited until after they'd gotten married to guys their age and then have kids. And if these men in their 20s, 30s, or 40s weren't going to take care of their kids that the young mothers have given birth to because those sexist, womanizing Neanderthals who've gotten them pregnant to begin with, they should've used condoms and/or left those teen girls alone. As a matter fact, these grown men should've gotten arrested for impregnating teen girls by way of statutory rape. What's with these young teen girls, always falling for guys twice or three times their age, knowing they should date guys their age. Why must these grown men always wanting to get those underage girls pregnant at an early age, let along 15? I mean, who does that. It's just way, way, way too much for their parents (the moms and/or the dads) to handle. And if this type of teen pregnancy continues to expand by the year 2016 and these adult men continue to rob those teen girls of their futures, their so-called "childhood," and their innocence, their parents, they're doomed. This ends now!

Education is Power

Who is in charge of our children's education?
What happens when parents don't do their job?
When children have no sense of reading, writing,
till they hit that school room head on?

Who is responsible to initiate, ingratiate, the word,
so language is understood from infancy and
not suddenly at five years old when
communication receives the attention it deserves?

Parents stand up and take notice
schools do not provide the only source
You are your child's first teacher
You are the one who gives him voice.

From you he will learn expression
From you he will learn who he is
From you he will learn his roots
Give him your love and attention.

Provide an environment filled with books
A place where reading takes precedence
Instill in him a joy for learning
With gentle hand and loving looks.

Model the love of learning
read on your own or with
till without even knowing
he'll develop a yearning
to know, to explore, to evaluate
all there is and more.

Thank you my fellow supers (soupers)
for inviting me to write more
for appreciating and loving what i do best
when I was previously on the floor
I do not know the lot of you
but I feel like I know you well
for we, we share the same language
that makes a weak heart swell
swell with courage to write it out
when all the world seems not to care
when I was down in the dumps one day
the supers caught me in midair

Why Tortured The Night

A part of labor and a part of pain
A part of sadness and a part of happiness
However; seeing a small glimpse of the future
The labor, the pain, the sadness and the happiness
Was close- by: waiting to be belong
Why torture the night?

 When peace seeks unity
And the morn is few hours’ away
 tonight we lie awake: thinking

 Why torture the night

 Ours hearts beat sporadically
We search deep within for
The truth which were never told
Why tortured the night with humility

thanks for the tea, heres something about me
nothing beats poetry, sitting underneath a tree
thankin' my family for a strong identity
people watching cause its free, beauty in the scene
has me staring with a cheese, a smile at what i see
possibly a dream, caught up mentally
imagining a few things, with this human being
who has the sweetest energy, soulfood like collard greens
all fools falling means I'm really dumber than I seem
being intelligent isn't just from memory
its handling impermanence light and sensibly
and lady I'm feeling your sultry melodies
we'd be crowded if its three, sit and be my company
must be a chemistry major cause the reactions meant to be
the love we can achieve, is safe from any thieves
hold em from my queen, hearts tucked into my sleeve

Teen Pregnancy 5: Out-Of-Control Teen Mothers

Those teen moms are and/or will have been up to no good, especially by going to unsupervised parties, doing drugs, and stuff. They had their babies not too long ago, but they continue their out of control ways, including by way of neglecting their own offspring? I mean, who in the world does that kind of stuff? It seems that the parents (thee mothers and/or the fathers) really should've kept their teen daughters locked up in their rooms and on top of all that, those underage girls, they never should've been teen mothers to begin with. On top of all that, those teen girls were supposed to concentrate on their education instead of messing around with those womanizing fiends. There's always a problem with teen girls-turned-teen mothers; they’re always having unprotected sex with multiple guys, drinking alcoholic beverages (vodka, beer, and rum, e.g.), using illegal drugs, and stuff. All teen girls should be ashamed of themselves, not taking care of the ones who’ve brought them into God’s green Earth. The only ones who’re responsible for getting those teen girls pregnant, thereby bringing the infants to this world are those dead-beat teen fathers. It’s their fault. They did this. They brought those kids into this world. What those teen girls should’ve done was to have told their loser boyfriends to use condoms, otherwise they never would’ve gotten pregnant. Not only have those out-of-control teen mothers put their own families at risk with their reckless behaviors, they also put their own children at risk, and it’s got to stop right here, right now! Those teen girls, they shouldn’t be mothers at an early age, let alone 13 or 17 and they definitely shouldn’t be putting their own children in a dangerous environment, thereby being harmed by those cold-blooded gang bangers and/or drug-dealers. The reckless behaviors of all teen mothers will have gotten their own children killed or worse. The employees of Child Protective Services and the local police are going to hear this. Everybody’s seeing multiple life sentences in the future and those teen mothers should not just be stripped of their parenting rights, they should also lose custody of their children. It’s making everybody sick just thinking about it. And if this type of ordeal continues to go on, it’ll lead straight to destruction. All teen guys, use condoms! All teen girls, keep your legs closed! And all teen lovebirds, keep your clothes on! No children until after education is completed and marriage!

CRITERIA OF THE JEWISH CANON 11022011

In the several centuries
Before the coming of Christ
The Jews in Palestine re-examined
Eliminated some of the books

From existing collection
As not in harmony with the Law of Moses as
Of doubtful inspiration
The Pharisees set up four criteria

Which their sacred
Books had to pass
In order to be included
In the revised Jewish Canon

(1)	They had to be in harmony with the Pentateuch (Torah or Law)

(2)	They had to be written before the time of Ezra

(3)	They had to be written in Hebrew

(4)	They had to have been written in Palestine

Crazy, Hazy, Lazy Days

It’s summertime
and Janis wails through the speakers.
I sit at my picnic table,
papers scattered,
and I chase perfect words
like I used to chase butterflies.

My kids splash through the scene,
armed with Super Soakers.
Their antics threaten to jar
the few words I managed
to land on the page.

They jump in the pool -
giggles come up for air
in a million bubbles.

I trade my pen
for a popsicle,
join them poolside,
and succumb to
easy living and
the sweltering rhythms of
“SUMMERTIME.”

The Language of the new generation.

Understanding the new generation.
They have their own language.
Their own new meanings to the same words.
They have their own communication + lingo.
Has it not been the same with each new
generation in history?
They discover a new style that is shocking
to the older generations.
Adjoining generations seem to listen
to each other.
At which point do the generations do not want
to listen.
Where is this gap?
Spelling is different for the same words.
A lot of abbreviated text is used.
There seems to be an absence of books amongst
dvds + cds.Has this interior design element
been overlooked?
Is there a new dictionary to accommodate the
new generations?
Or is this just how life is?

Most Vocal Critic

My sister Pat says my words
are too big,
that I lose my audience
due to this.
By far, most people just don’t
give a fig;
Anything over one’s head’s
just a miss.
My vocabulary’s filled
With nonsense,
And no one bothers to find
the meaning.
No one wants their reading to
be so dense
What I think’s clever is just
demeaning.
Why can’t I just write simple stuff
About flowers and family and life?
Why isn’t that enough
without dredging up
the dark, unhappy strife?
While I swim through depressing depths,
most people splash and play in shallows.
They laugh out loud, don’t hold their breath.
Real humor doesn’t come from gallows.

Within and Without

Within the boxed confines
of ancient wood and plaster
waking, sleeping, dreaming in solitude
Only the cats soft purr
and frisky nature seeks to scatter the
dust bunnies which hide at sunrise.

Within the box of mind
or the box of heart
daily I peer outside of myself
through a pixeled frame of light.
The ingredients of my day
the passion of my night
all congeal in a broth like fractal art
spicing the tendrils of thought.

The mind mixes and blends friends
a genetic sea of salt and water minds
bubbles and boils and become.
~Without this soup you see
there could never be a universal we.
I would remain an eye without thee.

BESIDES FAMILY

During the years that I had lived
many friends I have had;
some nice, some good, some bad...
ah! being friendless is very sad!

Beside family...who else
will remember what I've achieved,
perhaps a stranger reading
my works too lucid and intense?

I have honored many unnotorious folks like humble mother,
and the ones who have touched me in ways nobody has...
having been an innovator, not much of a shaker,
readers will uncover the true meaning of my writings.

Besides family...who will take time to read them twice?
Have I moved, inspired and changed them in several minutes?
That could be so true by the interest they have shown in the poems
I've written and my wish is that they have found that voice!

I seek no praises or laurels for my creations with words so intuitive,
and if an ode were dedicated to me....so very honored I wouldl be!
It's not being naive...not to have realized it and be crowned with victory;
and in any respectable way they wish to remember me, it's their prerogative.

Non Catholic religions

You think Christ is not hurt
With loving what you thought is Christ
Loving Christ is being in His true Church
In Catholic or Roman Catholic you are not condemned but saved

In His Church
Ask R.C.I.A.
Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults
Is like a college Religion class

You will learn the truth
In other man-made religion bible are lies
What you’re reading is really the true Church
Not your own

It’s like a blind
Leading another blind
They would both fall in hell of fire
It is not the minister’s fault

Your own, rather take them with you
Both of you learn the truth
For every man they can be a deacon
Bishop and Priest are not with a wife

For Jesus Christ is a High Priest
Great Prophet
Only Son of the most High
The Redeemer

In RCIA, you will receive 3 important Sacraments
Baptism
Confirmation and
Holy Eucharist or the Body of Christ

We want God to be pleased with us
Eternal Father told the people
To Listen only to the Messiah and
The One I sent

What are these Christ like churches?
Non Catholic churches?
People in there are already condemned
Being in Catholic or Roman Catholic, you are saved

Willow Tree

Who do you feel like today?
Do you even remember my name?
It's been 8 years since then,
Has the willow tree we sat under gone dead?

 I wonder if you've changed,
if you regret your biggest mistake.
Do you feel the sorrow i feel?
Is this pain the only thing that feels real?

 I feel no sorrow now,
I only feel hatered for the world somehow,
How could you rape your granddaughters?
And Forget your own son, My father?!

How could you do this to me?
The only way how i feel now is to bleed.
I put no effort, no feeling, no thought,
In the war,
 This battle in my heart

How do you feel like today?
Is it easier to know that your safe?
Outta jail they let you out,
Why so you can pay your road to hell?

So i plant me a willow tree,
right above the grass,
 below the leaves.

I lay here below this willow tree,
My only friend beside of me,
 The memories still remain,
Alone,
But it's better off this way

Every day the same routine
The repetition has become obscene
My hands are blistered, sore and torn
While my face looks old a worn
If my nerves are bent any more
I will snap at the middle and break at the core
Just a little break
To relieve me from more than can take
A rest for the weary is all I ask
A little relief from this stressful task

Why I Enjoy Writing Poems

Why I Enjoy Writing Poems... I often have a thought or two on my mind. And have written them in the expression of a rhyme. I’ve tried to write as I feel God has led. And try to do it in love, in what's written & said. At times, I “have stepped on people's toes.” This is not my intention— God really knows. If you've read a poem that I wrote. I hope you were encouraged with hope There’s a message that I pray comes across... "With Christ... all is not lost!" I’ve tried to write poems from my spirit. As an expression of how I live it. The words written are from my heart to you May they be a blessing in whatever you do! By Jim Pemberton

Why is Law?

Law,
A power adopting consent,
Unanimously,
For the welfare of all,

To establish equality,
To provide opportunities,
To remove discrimination,
To break down the prejudice barriers,

To build a bridge on gaps,
So anyone a child, young,
Old, able or disable can walk,
Freely, with honour of a nation,

And can adopt a pride of safety,
And can provide security,
It is a lesson for everyone,
To protect society,

From Criminals, robbers,
Smugglers, gangsters, rapists,
For everyone’s share of happiness.
For a standard for living.

I want to make sure
You`re safe and you`re in a safe place

But GIVE ME some space
Sometimes, I wake up...feeling so distressed
But GIVE ME your sweet grace
And we'll beat the race...and this pain we share will not be addressed

I don't want to be unsure - am I the one losing the race?
And I'm chilling in this heavenly place
And I need to trade you my apologies…
I don’t want to waste your time
You’re absolutely safe…as long as you keep pace

Four Limericks

There once was a girl named Ana,
Who loved to eat ice cream and banana,
THen her treat did disappear,
And Ana shed some tears,
Everyone felt bad for Ana Banana,

There once was a boy named Peter,
Who was known as the school's best cheater,
One day he was caught,
And detention he got,
Everyone felt bad for Peter the Cheater.

There once was a boy named Michael,
Who had a new motorcycle,
He went on a ride,
And fell off the side,
Everyone felt bad for Michael.

There once was a girl named Fina,
WHo dreamed she was a ballerina,
She would gracefully twirl,
Until she could hurl,
Everyone felt bad for Fina.

Communion

Jabez's prayer is recited from
The side of the refrigerator
Near a magnet from last summer's
Vacation bible school
Early morn and the quiet
Is interrupted by myriad birds chirping
The rumble of a refuse truck robotically
Empties the dumpster from the front
Passing cars creak and whoosh
Mrs. Garza's nightlight clicks off
Automatically the day begins
Entangled with snores
The ice maker gives birth
The central air unit cycles on
Announcing the cool air needed
For a going to get hotter day
A distant dog barks
The muse is crashed by the
Stumbling into the room
Cabinets creak open and the
Electric can opener growls
Open a can of syrupy tangerines
smackingly devoured while the spoon
Scrapes against the metal
Ancient civilizations are described
As the now too loud television alters
The air waves
Then the national anthem waves
A train whistles pass
As does the morn
And the mood broken
Or enhanced by a reality
Of sneezes and snorts

The Sun's Rays

The sun’s devouring rays
Reveals an astounding sensation against the marvelous universe
It caresses the earth with warm hugs and gives life to the motionless gaze
Its auras are above nature’s designating exteriors
Its swaying beauty is beyond Earth’s inhabitants, deserving my praise

It treasures the sky with joyousness and forms swarms of jeering birds
The sighs of the wind attracts clamoring herds

The sun’s appalling flames
Unshackles a zealous tune that reveals the Earth’s accord
It embraces the atmosphere with remarkable claims
Unraveling my curiosity; my ears are pleading to hear more, so I go forward!

It prizes the ocean with eagerness and forms swarms of screeching seagulls
The strength of the waves draws in scorching souls

The sun's unattainable rays
Motivate life to trail on till its duty is done
Its auras seep through the whirling sky and strays
Embracing ambitious love like a father and son

The Poet

It is a fever.

The poet

They found the poet outside the park

His steps spoke many words of wine

His upper half seemed half asleep

And his feet walked a crooked line

His arms were spread as if to fly

His lips apart as though to speak

The telltale flush of liquid joy

Told tales of rum from cheek to cheek

The night herself caroused with him

Drunk on sadness, drunk on care

And drink they drank, the weary lovers

Setting wine against despair

The bonds of reason, broken down

His mind amok, and absent sense

The world in woe, the world in glory

Lay before his presidence

And it was then they walked to him

Rudely rousing man from dream

Casting eye on village bard

Taking man as man would seem

"Sing for us again, o bard

Cast your words at senses keen"

This was why they broke his peace

Winters twice his summers seen

"Sing for us again o bard

Spin sweet words from bitter truth

Stir the embers of your heart

Dig through elder years to youth. And

Let the fountain spring with might!!

Showering us with wisdom earned

Showing us the link in hand

Of teachers harsh and lessons learned

Free yourself from wine's embrace!

We would hear a tale or two"

Turns to them, a wizened face

"Ask not man, but what is due."

Graying eyes regard the gathered

Moving on, from face to face

"The world whirls in the hands of time

And yet all things remain in place"

"As yet all men remain the same

The board reset a dozen times

Pi-eces unaltered, so is game

Though rearranged, the given lines

You come to me as bank to debtor

You plague me with unbridled want

Says at last, man to tormentor

'Cease at once your unjust haunt""

It is a fever

"It is not a gift so given

It is not a boon bestowed

Nor is sight beheld as blessing

When the eyes have overflowed

With the sorrows of existence

Pain cavorts with all men born

Know the price of your persistence

Hear the words of man forlorn

What is loss compared to weakness?

What is pain compared to need?

When the soul suffers from sickness

To give blood to those who bleed

O for those suffering in secret

O for hidden scars concealed

Know a secret's mark of secrets

Is in wounds that never healed

The world at large, and I remain

Numb in spirit, numb of mind

My inner coldness feed by pain

Reaped from years left far behind

It is a fever that I have

It is an illness I possess

It is a symptom that you worship

It is a sign that you profess

To love, to need, to love to hear

While I remain diseased of soul

You chant and clap then disappear

Then falls to me, each telling's toll

It is a sadness that I feel

It is madness that I suffer

When the muses offer gifts

Turn your backs and run for cover

Talent has a price, and paid

This price I have, each passing day

Rise to cup and rise to can

Drink my fill then come what may

All my masters come before me

Warned me of the poet's curse

Know you all of Byron's story

Know you all that Poe's was worse

Happiness is bound to beauty

Joy to all that beauty, see

But for those that birth said beauty

All is pain and tragedy

Listen to my fading voice, now

Listen to my silent plea

Know the doom of every poet

And ask of this, no more from me

I will fellowship with Bacchus

Gimlets of the finest sort

Rise to can and drunken glory

Fall to pleasure and cavort

Now my night bids me return

Wine is all that shields from sorrow

Sets me free from all concern

Trouble enough, will be tomorrow"

His soul unburdened, back unbent

All is caught in a lengthy pause

He turns to go, the air is rent

With sounds of cheer, and of applause

Now lowering balding head to ground

"Man may speak but none may hear

Sing for us again o Bard,

Has now become a thing to fear"

What Should A Love Story Be

What should the perfect love story be?
Maybe about the future or past history

Maybe the story should just be about today
If it were your final breath what would you say?

The Lord is the maker and the keeper of time
He is the giver of love and all that’s divine

How can any love story not involve him?
The keeper of truth, the forgiver of sin

Jesus Christ is the father and I am but a seed
Regardless of the path I shall follow his lead

I praise God for the pain that hinders my way
For it truly does offer plenty of time to pray

The more that I pray the more clearly I see
Exactly what a perfect love poem should be

It should be hot as the desert, beautiful as the snow
Born way deep in the heart so it can forever glow

It should speak the honest truth about your dearest friend
How the strength of your love helped each of you to mend

The story should be of two lovers, bound by the soul
Yet each is has the freedom to leave, if they wish to go

You see true love was truly intended for us to caress
Tell me, “How can an unseen entity ever be possessed”

Love is a part of your heart and a part of your soul
So please caress it, bless it and make it your goal

And that’s what a true love poem is really about
Cherishing each others love through all the doubt

Felled

I walk in the pathetic pages of a used tired book
Crushed by the heavy leaves that lied to me
The older I become, the angrier I see
orange, red, yellow peeling
Panting, painting, pelting poems
against a soggy canvas and sagging
lines like tired feet held together with
sad gray shoes

We're the oldest ones here
The doctor is so young
The lawyer is a child
The children are all grown
My grandbaby is going to college

Still when I brushed my hair today
and sashayed by you
a lilt to my tongue and a
swagger in my lips
I curved a kiss to you and
blew an ocean of windtossed
leaves

I scooted under them
like a silly child
Smelling the earth
Rooting like a piglet

When did Tubman push her
passengers along
Putting nails in trees to indicate
the turn in the fog
the fork in the road

If she could work into
the autumn and beyond
Why kant I rite the lanterns
of my life?

And in autumn
You don't need permission
To fall and land in earthy
grandeur

Staggering, solemn, orange
Reborn like a felled tree

VOWS

I SEE THE WAY I FEEL INSIDE,
LOCKED AWAY BEHIND ALL MY LIES.
I HEAR THE WORDS BEHIND MY
BACK, TRUTHFULLY IT'S ACOUSTICALLY
SAD.
WHEN THE CHORDS ARE PLAYED,
THERE'S A MELODIC HAUNTING IN MY MIND!
LOST INSIDE; THE ENDEAVOR IS BLIND.
STAR-GAZING BRINGS THE TUNES TO A
HIGH, PEOPLE WATCHING TAKES ME TO A
LOW.
BOXED IN THE WAY I FEEL;
MY PANIC BECOMES MANIC, I JUST
NEED A WAY TO DEAL.
STRAWBERRY GASHES IN PEACH-COLORED
FIELDS, HELPS TO DEFINE HOW IT IS
AND WHAT I TRULY FEEL.
FORGIVENESS SOUNDS GOUND, BUT
I KNOW I WON'T FORGET. JUST
LIKE A GREAT POEM OR SONNET THESE
SCARS ARE MY COMMITTMENT.
SO AS I SHALL FADE TO NOTHINGNESS
NOW; I GIVE YOU THESE WORDS TO
CHERISH - DEATH BECOMES MY WEDDING VOW.

Beauty and the Unpublished Author

Far away in a little town tucked in the corner of a map
Lives the girl who ruined his heart
And broke his life

While with him she would smile and laugh so sweet
Tender as only she could be
In his heart she lit even the corners so deep

With time she became his definition of life
In all he did he had her in mind
Life wasn’t life without him seeing her smile

As moments grew into weeks
The flower of his heart started to reveal its wilt
In her eyes no longer was the sparkle he was used to seeing

Winds carried awful odour of their disorder
Tales went round of her illicit exploits behind the counter
The man with the shop at the corner savoured all the honey she offered

At first he dismissed the whispers with laughter
But soon he discovered he was the only one on the other side of reality’s border
Yes indeed, another prince had taken over

Trouble was how sincerely he loved her
Problem was that even she had only love to offer
Issue was he hadn’t yet sold a dime of the books he authored

The Tale

With paper and pen in hand,
She sat down to tell the tale
Of a love once known
And now gone forever.
Tears stain the paper
And smear the ink
As she reminisces
Over the young boy she met
At the church picnic
That beautiful day so long ago.
Of the fairy-tale courtship
And story book wedding
Of a couple so in love.
She in her long, flowing dress
Glowing, more radiant than
The pearls and sequins that covered her.
He looking like a prince
In long white tails and top hat.
She smiles gently as she tells
Of the children brought in love
Raised to walk with heads held high.
The words flow easily,
Like the ink from the pen,
Speaking of the grandchildren to come,
The days of growing old together,
The good days and those less happy,
The love shared and the hopes expressed,
The promises made and the lives lost.
With pen and paper still in hand
She begins to weep silently again
Wishing only that this story book life
Had been her own.

THINE TRUE SELF

THE BEAUTY YOU SEE IN MY EYES IS,
SADNESS FROM ALL THE PAIN I'VE SUFFERED IN MY LIFE.
MY RAGE IS MY SCARS, FROM ALL THE DAMAGED HEART ACHES,
I'VE EVER FELT.
WHILE YOU SEE ME SMILING OR LAUGHING ON THE OUTSIDE,
MY TEARS ARE CRYING OUT SILENTLY.
ALL ALONE, AND UNLOVED,
AND BARON OF A FAMILY;
AN ORPHANED AND ABANDONED AS A CHILD,
NOW A GROWN WOMEN.
I TRIED TO TURN MY BACK ON MYSELF AS WELL,
ONLY TO BE BROUGHT DOWN TO MY KNEES SCREAMING,
WITH ALL MY OVERWHELMING EMOTIONS RUNNING WILDLY,
INSIDE OF ME.
WISHING OTHERS WOULD UNDERSTAND HOW GRATEFUL THEY
SHOULD BE TO HAVE FAMILIES THAT REALLY LOVE AND CARE FOR THEM;
INSTEAD OF COMPLAINING AND GROANING.
THINKING TO MYSELF,
IF ONLY MY FAMILY SHOWED ME THAT
THEY LOVED ME THAT AS MUCH AS
I LOVE THEM.
INSTEAD REALITY SETS IN AND REMINDS ME ON
HOW CRUEL THIS WORLD HAS BEEN TO ME.
I FINALLY DECIDED TO START ANEW,
AND THIS NEW BEGINNING HAD ITS UPS AND DOWNS;
AND LIFE LESSONS THAT NEEDED TO BE LEARNED.
ACKNOWLEDGE AND APPLIED.
LEAVING ME WITH THE DREAM AND HOPE,
THAT ONE DAY SOON I WOULD FIND MY KINDRED SPIRIT,
OR HE WOULD FIND ME TO LOVE ME IN THE LOVING WAY,
THAT WE BOTH NEED AND DESERVE.

Anger

teeth clenched
tension creeping
up or down my spine..

rage flickered
meanness flared
burning up my mind..

the apple don't fall..
far from the ugly tree..
muttered neath my breath..

damn I'm a heifer..
the anger died..
a swift and sudden death..

what apple he asked
what tree he dared
and I cried..

Reason to Rejoice 11032011

REJOICE WITH ME BECAUSE I HAVE FOUND THE COIN I LOST LUKE 15:9

WHEN MY FRIEND CALLED to tell me the story of how she lost
One of her expensive hearing aids
It sounded similar of the lost coin
Diane described how she had taken care of 5 or 6 errands in a day

During that time she placed her hearing aids in her pocket
When she returned home
One of them was missing
Diane hurried back to all places she had been

Retracting every step she searched for the precious item
Her voice held such amazed joy and gratitude
As she related the moment of actually finding the tiny hearing aid
No wonder Jesus used a story of losing and finding something of value to describe the joy God has over “one sinner who repents

When I hesitate to let go of an old hurt
Avoid repenting of my wrong doings
I hope the memory of my friend’s enthusiastic discovery
Will nudge me to give the Holy One another reason to rejoice

Your Insight

You are powerful even in the darkest of days... I prayed for Your insight
Night and Day...every pondering moment.
You responded to my prayers in many unique ways...You made my spirit take flight
What should I say? You scrubbed off my lament.

You relieved me from distress
You fearlessly strengthened my hope
and frayed my fear
Now I'm in high spirits with freewill and delight...
and I must confess
You wiped away the boundless tears, shattering my negativity...
your love is crystal clear now!

Am I still that hovering angel...yearning for some light?
Am I still that naive spirit, giving in to the darkness and seeking plight?

I know God loves me, but I doubt Him still
God revealed His love with my whole family...but i don't feel right
I know God cares for us, I see no sign of Him or His will...
God dealt with us with patience and kindness, but I can't yield on to His radiance so full of might

You are fruitful even in the darkest hours...I prayed for Your delight
To fall upon me day and night...effecting my every thought process
You promised me Your blessings and upcoming Kingdom every time I consider Your Word... You made my dreams come true and lingered around me despite
My bitter, spiteful words that I didn't mean to say... Is there any hope that I'll ever be successful during this time of cheerlessness

But, I believe God is a merciful creator!!

Truthifiction of the bible

The author of the bible must have been god
for Jesus himself never wrote it
and i wonder if Jesus truly existed
then why are we not studying timeless works of art written by the first people
that learned how to read and write?
Another question plagues me
why are there legacies of family traditions of stories in families talked about
handed down from generation from generation
that yes your gret great grandmother was a witch burnt at the stake
or your great great grandfather was a black slave
but why I ask do we never hear those who brag
through the testimonies of legacies of stories around campfires
that did you know your ancestor touched the hand of christ?
and this story of those days has been in our family for generations?

no one using logic how the world works?
true how quickly we forget
even war veterans pass down terrors of war tortures and terrors of such things
so why did we stop passing down the story of a god?

Is it because the author of the bible was god?
and he knew everthing that happened with jesus and Job
cain and Abel?
or was it just that one day there was a belief
and it was accepted
replaced an old belief
and murdered the old
and we praise it now?

Is this proof we are brainwashed?
gullible even
the fact that the old religion has more stories handed down in generations
in family
than this supposed god
who taught us all how to read or write?
I'm sure if i was there to be the first people to learn how to read and write
id write down some stories of the lessons i was taught
tell everyone i knew
of the man i had met who taught me
if the bible is true
and there were that many witnesses

I know id pass it down to my children
and my grandchildren
nieces and nephews

This is the man that I am

No need for a detective because I have few mysteries

Whatever you don’t find its trapped somewhere inside my mind

I put my life into words for the whole world to read

I hope you enjoy what you see

A South Korean English teacher by night

An avid writer by day

A helpless romantic somewhere in between

The smile and joy from my students is priceless

Seeing someone enjoy my writings is pretty rewarding as well

I feel that everything in my life is finally going well

From my writings you may find that hard to tell

Sorry I don’t write more fantasies or fables

To convey happy emotions and attract more followers

You are getting my life through my eyes

I don’t have a sweet tooth so I don’t sugarcoat things

I write what I have seen and how it has effected me

My adventures and journeys have been vast

Come with me on this ride

Together we can both be pleasantly surprised

With what I will write

This is the the man that I am

Invisible Within

Pain is my beauty, rage is my sadness.
Laughing is my soul crying out silently.
Yet you do not see, these truths that lie within,
instead you turn a deaf ear, blinded from the darkness of your sight.
You only feel your sympathic ear, reflecting my hearts expression.
Powerless daily, I struggle to allow my invisible voice from within,
To speak and to shine thru.
A moment in time
The music bringing you back to places in time which
affected you with an emotional
consequence But since all this time has passed now it
has become a remanicent memorie of
all the uplifting, downsizing,
and overwhelming roller coaster rides.
A message in time to come, if you choose to see it.
An immediate refreshing of the emotional
soul;
in combination with your intellectual self.
Then it becomes not just a message anymore.
Instead it has grown into a great metamorphosis of spirt to embrace;
consuming your sinful
nature, leaving only the lambs blood,
giving you clarity, peace and serenity.

A Love On Loan From My Own Blood

A muse
came to me,
naked, yet I

took it
to my aged heart and
warmed it by

my breath
then clothed it
with love,

a love
on loan from
my own

blood. Oh muse,
go, go now and sail
the many islands—

spread thy
beauty, so perfect for
the god of the sea!

Family Tree

Our family tree will never stop growing…our faith and comfort will never crumble
Love grows here…so have no fear—God is near
My family, though packed up with pride and low self-esteem, still appears humble
Mirth produces joy and our hope gives birth to cheer

God is our Father; who could play this role as skillfully? Who, other than God, created the world so genuinely?
Love comes from He…so scare away the anxiety—God will grant us ecstasy
My family, though packed up with hope and despair, cherishes my soul with glee
Rebirth and life comes from He and our faith should draw near to thee

"i love you sweet boy..we will have fun this summer and be a close and godly family..nighty nit my light"
This summer, I am positive that we will be a close and godly family
But we must be lights of the world…and we must be willing to finish that race of hardships to earn His dignity
By all means, we will have an enjoyable break without paying a fee
But we must be God’s faithful followers…and we must be prepared to follow our Shepherd who is the key

Of never-ending faith and comfort, nourishing us abundantly
He still exists…He unravels the insanity
Of this world and set us free from blasphemy
Watching over us with pure vitality

Give us Your water
Don’t leave us in the gutter
Listen to the words we mutter

I pray that our family tree will look up to you devotedly

Like your being haunted
One minute their saying bye-bye
But when you walk out that door
They wanna break down and cry
And say why did she have to go so fast
But really their feelin free at last

Have you ever felt unwanted?
Like you would have changed something in your past
And u messed up and that was your last
You feel so ashamed
Your saying stop playing games
But you really don't know
They want you to go

Have you ever felt unwanted?
Like there was no comfort place
Like someone just up to you
And said i need my space
How would you feel?
Would you fell blu?
Or when it all boils down
Would you feel the same way too?

THE BIBLE DEFINED 11022011

Other source of supernatural knowledge is the Bible
In the words of the Council of Trent
Which enumerated the books of the Bible under their proper titles
The Church declares that she receives

All the books of the Testaments
Old and New
Since the one God is the author of both
The Vatican Council is more explicit

The Church holds those books as sacred
Canonical
Not because
Having been composed by human industry
They were afterwards approved by her authority

Nor, just because
They contain revelation without error
But, having been written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit
They have God as their Author

The word Bible comes from the Greek ninlion meaning “the book”
The plural is biblia, was taken for a feminine singular
Testaments
The Bible is the Book par Excellence

I love others,
That are encouraging me.
Who can alter me?
If I don’t accept any device,
I like to tease others,
But always I love to my like,
Dislikes, I always mind,
I amn’t different,
I do as you do,
My mankind is yours
And yours mankind is mine,
Then what’s my weep,
We are traveling in a same boat.
You scratch me, I shall scratch you.
Nobody a third can ruin us.

Don't Stop The Poetry

I'm going to write this poem
and not once stop my pace
So when I die I will show Him,
God, the poetic piece I've laced.
I'm going to write about my struggles
I'm going to write about happyness
My strength will put me on a hussle
So I can make ends to share it with,
My mother, my father,
My 2 sisters and brother,
I may not say it at times
but until death I love them.
I cry out to the Most High
that honestly I only can do my best.
If I leave the Earth a failure
then I'll feel I've failed life's test.
No matter how hard things are
I promise I won't stop the poetry.
Because God knows my strength
and if nobody, He'll notice me.

What effect has sloth upon the soul

Sloth begets in a soul
A spirit of indifference
In our spiritual duties and
A disgust for prayer

You Bet!

You bet!
My Heidie poet friend....
A winning streak, I'm on,
Hot as a $2 pistol...
Sun's rising,
It's dawn....
You join the community,
Of endless talent and love,
A charmed life I'm living,
Experiencing all this warm giving....
So thank you, dear Heide,
Trust I do love you too,
Now it's time for 'ol Tom...
To get back in that Old Lady's shoe!

Stinging Words

How often have we felt it,
when hurtful things are said?
When someone says such painful things
you wish that you were dead.

Many times we just don't realize
the pain we tend to cause
when we say things to instigate
the laughing and applause.

The sting of words is painful.
The scars will linger long.
We carry hurt around with us
even when we know it's wrong.

So, choose your wording wisely.
It hurts more than you know.
Sometimes the ones you hurt the worst
are the ones you never know.

Thanx for the Welcome

Hey, thanks a heavy bunch for the welcome
Hey, thanks a larger lot for the welcome

My heart is duly enthralled
My mind has been positively stirred

Two days ago I had a lot on my mind
Now ‘coz of y’all, here I exist in delight

Heaven must be missing quite a number of angels
For what I read on my screen can’t be wordings of ordinary mortals

For now I don’t need heaven
For I have found myself a haven full of the soup I need to get well

A brick at a time, each with purity and love in mind
I’m certain this shrine full of wonder will rise to shine

Such are the blessings of men and women of initiative
Offering poets like me and you the mortar to build our dreams into reality

My heart fills with gratitude, tonnes of it in advance
For the doors of opportunity I’m certain to unearth, in this shelter of dreams

The beginning might be a tad bit rocky
But please bear with me as I drift off my ecstasy to clarity, as consequential of this
new discovery

I promise to soon find my bearings
And flow at ease like a new Lamborghini on these sleek streets of many dreams

In the meantime don’t mind if sometimes I blurt
For a new soup like this always tastes so sweet, makes one reveal what he was
meant to keep

Thanks indeed for allowing me to be a part of you
Allow me to advertise to others that you and I on Poetry Soup too

A note that I sent to Daddy on Father's Day 2004

Taking this time to wish you a great day of
thoughts, prayers, hopes & wishes to one
of the
Markings of Life in our generation.
To someone who helped make what we, the
youth of this lifetime are today.
We could
thank our mothers, yes.
So, I'll take this
time in a moment - to say how much I do
appreciate you and your doings for our and
your future.
I might not say or show it;
but I do appreciate what God has given me
and my family.
I would not be here living
today breathing, would not be here tomorrow
dreaming of what I could be or could have
been, would not be here next year living as
such creatures if it wasn't for the Hunter
& Gatherer.
You sir, are what others envy;
and I do envy that of you.
I hope I do
accomplish my goals the way you met yours.
From me, the family and all to come of our
lives; Happy Father's Daddy.

Alliteration Mystery

Take the time to set back and travel the minds turntable--
Set the stage of your spirit of your soul ever so simply--
Each ember of life that earns you strength is everything--
Seal the seats of friendship with stars from heavens sky--
Relief will be your reliance; reliance can be your role--
To live life loving with much laughter and spiritual light--
I sound like a pound of purity, with prosperous preparations--
Though that is hardly the fact, the terror of life totally thrives--
Drives me to dare divide my dreams and sacrifices decently--
No, I do not know the key to never failing, or sainthood--
My mystery is mesmerizing mere meter or rhyme or prose--
Writing written words to warm or calm mere mortals like me--

One Day

You know a few years from now
my son is gonna get curious
I know eventually we gotta have that talk
I gotta take that walk back down memory lane
I then been threw so many changes
But I'm from the hood so to him
I gotta speak that real language

And it makes me wonder
not really all that worried
the kinda lifestyle I carried
but that was after I got legal
knowing he gotta walk thru
the same blocks I walked thru
seeing them D-Boyz, Street Thugs,
Dope Fiends, Dark Alleys, & Drug Needles

But I guess all I can do is
pray for better days
while I'm daydreaming in a daze
hoping one day he doesn't
end up in dat same cage or
sittin sideways on the corner
wit his top laid back
but like Jay I had to fade to black
and just stay faithful in God's promise

Yea he'll go threw trials & tribulations
I just pray he wont get overwhelmed
by Satan

Snow and Silence - For Ellie

Shine a candle in the shadows
break the glow stick green
Conquer those New England days
You know what I mean
Tree limbs tapping at the window
frost on rivulets grey
Open up the blinds and melt them
into words you've yet to say
Soak in bubbles brought to boiling
swirled in steam and sleep
Break the silence with emotion
I am yours to keep.

For far too long I did roam,

And, as far as I can see,
This looks like,
One incredible place to be.

When I Die

When I Die
Let the angels sing
Let the sunshine turn into rain

When I Die
Don't shed a tear
I shall be in the
heavens above

When I Die
Meet me there
Its the beautiful place
that you'll see called Heaven

When I Die
Nothing will do me no harm
The bad days are gone by
No more weeping eyes
No more mistakes
No more going through
the pain that ache me

When I Die
God has set my soul free
Now I am free
My life will never be the same
my soul had gotten weak, wasn't able to move

When I Die
Now I will be able to live the perfect life
I always wanted to live
Now here is the peace
for me where I lay my weaken body

When I Die
My eyes will be close
But never forgetting who I was
Where I came from
Never forgetting the loved ones
Family, friends, and enemies
No matter who you were
I still loved you
Nver forgetting who you are

When I Die
As each day passes by
surely I'll miss you
Maybe you'll miss me too
Don't always come teary eyed
Remember who you are
And the special things that God will have for you

When I Die
Now I will become a beautiful angel
Pray for you above
each and everyday

When I Die
I will be waiting on you
In that special place above
where its called Heaven

When I Die
When I Die

From Cover to Cover

From being forced to cross the Atlantic Ocean under the cover of stars
to volunteering for a mission above every ocean to the stars.

From being stared at on an auction block and having the family sold and separated
to ten years running, in the most watched block, as a priceless model of the family unit.

From working for peanuts and fertilizing somebody's land with the blood that runs off of
the back
to owning the land, working the peanut, and transfusing the blood back.

From being robbed of a spoken language, losing a religion, a culture, a god
to influencing: the language spoken in cultures, songs in religion, and the pathway to God.

From losing a hand and a foot or a leg for not being fast enough to get far enough away
from “the man”
to using the hands, legs and the feet in running farther and faster than the average man.

From the king, of a nation, beaten into a personal slave and called names like coon,
spook, and “Boy”
to a boy named King who would grow up to “win over” a nation for the equal freedoms of
every person.

From generations that had to take the last names of past presidents
to being the name that can give a future generation its first president.

there will be no censoring, so tender minds may wish to avoid.....

The first entry is from Jan 1st, 1864;
A driving rain storm, and this is the first day of a New Year. I am all alone, and
have felt very lonesome all day, and hope today is not a sample of the coming or

came and so perished my hopes of his coming tonight.

Illyanna's Dark Poetry

I wish people would quit picking on my sister. She is a wonderful writer and I know her
work is dark and creepy but that is who she is. She writes to entertain and to take you
places that make you uncomfortable. If you read her poems and you get the chills she has
done what she set out to do! If it creeps you out to much then when you see the name
Illyanna De La Keur then don't read it. This is a place where we all can demonstrate our
creativity and I would hate for her to remove her work and quit writing. Illyanna is a
writer that is an acquired taste and if not for her and my other sister I would never have
explored my own talent so please lay off on telling her to change her subject matter.

Steady Hands

They laughed at my feeble attempts to express myself,
then wondered why I spent so much time
alone in my room.

A closed door, blank paper.
A typewriter’s busy, furious clicking:

(Let me write, let me write,
let me fill up the blank skied night
with words.)

“Isn’t she ever coming out of there?
It’s not normal spending so many hours
alone in that room.”

Sweet oblivion reaches out its kind fingers
and buttons me up,
envelops me in the warmth of my little corner.

Words splash and spill
into midnight hours;
they shake their heads in puzzlement—
I am not one of them—
and I have no explanation to offer.

I kneel down
and mop up the spillage of words
with steady hands.

The Sketch

The ebony pencil marks up the ivory paper
It's silent strokes fill the page
With hopes of a better portrait
Than the girl was given to begin with.

Its strokes collectively make up the face of a girl
A face of pure skin and pouty lips
Perfect in idea
And perfect in the image of the girls mind.

Shimmering hair reaches for the girls back
As it grasped to her perfect scalp
The tiny strands fill the head of the girl in the picture
Like a JEWELIZED crown upon a beauty queens head.

A slender figure fills the page
The limbs reaching for her sides
The snake like fingers perfect for the hold of a man
While her hips and chest plaster themselves
In the perfect hourglass shape.

The dark skies fill her vacant eyes
As they search your soul for the truth
And allow you to see her passionate soul.

The eraser covers any imperfection
As it gently glides over each mistake
With skin perfect
And eyes so beautiful no man can resist her.

She is perfection at its best
She is exactly what every man dreams
She's a self-portrait
Made by a broken girl and shattered soul.

She is what the artist wished to be.

She is what I wish to be.

' Lost Poems '

Only A Poet Would Understand
Only A Writer Will Know…
Why I Would Feel This Disheartened and
Why I Can’t Shake Writer’s Woe…

… I Lost 200 Poems or More
Tho’ The Exact Count Doesn’t Matter
Most of What I’d Written Before
… is no longer gathered

A Circumstantial Mishap
My Family Didn’t Realize
That Case… That Mildewed, was a Map
Of My Flight thru Vision-Skies!

Eclectic, Romantic, maybe Eccentric
… also of Favorite Things and Fantasy
… Kinetic, Static or Copacetic
And Sojourns into Soliloquy

… Only A Poet Would Understand
Only A Writer Will Know
Those Exact, Precise – Phrases, won’t come again
… I can only end-up where they go…

Lost Type-of-Line, Pencil-Points of Lead
Lost Sonnets, Songs and Secrets Said
Now, Instead of Ink-Blots, My Tear-Stains Spread
Those Lost Words… Ripped My Throat to Shreds !

… Lost Track … Lost The Time …
Lost Treasure – Can’t Find Rhyme
Lost That Paper-Trail… of Where I’d Been
Lost Paper-Peace –that was Marked: Amen

and I’d Rather Have Lost My Money
‘Cause I Can Always Earn A Dime…
Instead of My Increased Memory
that Remembers This Literary Crime !

… Lost Documentation of Determination
Documentation of Dreams
… My Certificates of Celebrations
… My Tickets To My Park-Themes:

… of Snowflakes to Raindrops
From Heartaches to Heartthrobs
From Whispers to Declarations
Of Best Friends, and Far-Vacations

200 Trains of Thought – Wrecked
200 Expose’ Sheets – Axed
200 Treatises, Throwed Away, Gone…
… on Tragedies, Joys, Jokes and Moans

… Yet, I Rely On God, to Resurrect The Dead:
My Older-Sister, Brother, Grandma, Mom And Dad
and … if its not too silly, vain or bad…
Resurrect Those Words, I Wrote and I Meant to be Read…

Until then…

Only A Poet Would Understand
And Only A Writer Would Suppose …
If I Do Not Write Again
What Lost Poems You’ll Never Know…

Arranged Marriage

The family was seeking my acceptance.
Dad told me, his family is very nice,
And he is reserved kind of person,
I was also delighted, he was quite smart.

The day came, he booked a carriage,
To pick me as a bride from the Church,
We had a round in the town and went off,
To attend a celebration, where it was arranged.

My dad presented me a brand new car as a gift,
After finishing the party, we had a honeymoon booked,
We were very happy for this arranged marriage,
My dreams came to touch my sleepy beauty.
I have seen a strange and burning body,
Flames were exciting me and my feelings,
Realised a peace song that was delivering,
A cool and I were nearly nearly exhausted.

When he came, he was a little drunk,
When he touched my body I melted as ice,
I thought, he will enjoy me whole night a sip,
I was strange as I was lying in a pool.

When I Grow Up

when I grow Up
I want to teach the world
how to salute to a flag thats unfurled

when I grow up
I want to take my brothers hand
and march across this beautiful land

when I grow up
I want to find a girl
that makes my heart just swirl

when I grow up
I want to find a job
and not have to beg steal or rob

when I grow up
I want to learn about God
and miracles created through bowing nods

when I grow up
I want alot of friends
who will hold my hand as my time ends

so when I grow up
I hope this fun never ends
of pretending and playing this game once again

Churches and Ecclesial Communities

Many Christian communities on earth call themselves churches
According to the Catholic understanding
Only those in which the sacraments of Jesus Christ’s have been preserved
In their entirety have remained “Church”
This is true especially of the Orthodox and
Eastern Churches
In the ecclesial communities that resulted from the Protestant Reformation
All the sacraments have not been preserved

The Opening of Rusty Doors

Stop me right now if you've heard this before
there's the wind at my back and a knock at my door
there's you love me to moons but I love you much more
and we dance and we dance and we dance
Please stop me now if you know all my thoughts
as they roll on the wind in occasional bouts
as they shine in my eyes like the sun bleeding clouds
and I write and I write and I write
Stop me in summer if you're sick of the moon
for she shines less and less as the Luna de Lune
for she swells with a million hot stars in her womb
and she grieves and she grieves and she grieves
So stop me at once while the day carries on
as I open my door to the once setting sun
as the brooding of winter escapes in the dawn
and we breathe and we breathe and we breathe.

He took a toke

(This is a fictional poem)

I sold my cousin some poison ivy but I told him that it was pot.
When he started itching, he regretted what he bought.
He rolled up a joint and took a toke.
When he didn't get high, many of my bones got broke.
I learned a valuable lesson as I looked at my bruises, cuts and scars.
Never try to pass poison ivy off as pot if the guy is bigger than you are.

blew from off your lips
I drank it in,

Blossoms grew,
left undisturbed,
to ripen into art
Kindred thoughts,
exchanged and caught,
the fruitage you impart.

The Things I Just Cant Say

I dont write my words because I'm angry.
I dont write my words because you're mad.
I write what is truly on my mind.
What I feel deep down inside.
It may not make sense to you.
But to me, my words really do.
Every letter of every word in every sentence.
They all work together in harmony.
To say the things I just can't say aloud.
To say the things I just can't allow out of my mouth.
I love you, you know thats true.
But when we fight like this, I can't say a thing.
Too afraid to say things I may regret.
Too afraid I'll say things I don't mean.
I can only tell you that I love you and walk away.
Maybe one day these words I write will explain.
The things that I just can't say.

Healing Ellie

I met you hollow as the bones
of sun scorched trees with roots upturned
Worn to smoothness, polished grey
I met you when you'd less to say
But time and temperance green the ground
by pushing growth and sticking 'round
The seeds which scattered, dormant, light
in a gust of wind and time, took flight
They settled with your words and grew
with limbs of strength, they became you
And soon you laughed and bloomed in pink
and unwrapped time as a gift to think
Soon, your roots entwined the earth
You opened your arms to a million birds
and swayed in the wind to their favorite tune
as you etched them into your friend, the moon
Now you speak as all nature does
with a heart full of passion that's rooted in love
Each limb of growth reaching into the wind
Your words are a healing, You're on the mend...

The Mixed-Rhymer

Tyburn and Diamante, the smarty and the glow, are now here
and they’re ready, perfectly ready, to be read by you my dear!

The wintry weather have mantled their innocent forms all day,
and by the window they’re leaning on my last hope, their hooray.

I watch li’l Haiku, flowing, with orange flame in the evening wind,
whilst the mystical orb lingers at the blue mountain---the fairies’ inn.

Dinner-fume is not floating-up yet, perhaps not today, from your kitchen,
so I, the mixed-rhymer, will do them the reading with pizzas in our hands.

usually rhyming, I suppose,

the reason...we build
our worlds the way we wish
our buildings of words
are strong willed.

A Visit in Style

Hello there my dearest old friend, it’s been a long, long time
I wish of you to sit a spell, indulge me with your rhymes

I have a few to read to you. I’d like to know your thoughts.
I have so many styles now. It’s great, what I’ve been taught!

The Cameo is popular; I really love it so.
The Septet, too, is oh so grand, I wanted you to know.

The Haiku, though so short, is a descriptive piece to read.
It provides all the clarity and imagery you’ll need.

A Tanka is much like that but has two more lines instead.
It really sounds just as descriptive, if out loud it’s read.

One that really is a fave, is the Diatelle; it’s great!
With many lines and syllables it’s surely to elate.

So many styles to say the least, I cannot say them all.
We must revisit them one day, so please pay me a call.

poem is center aligned when displayed. The first triplet has 1, 2, and 3 syllables. The title of
the poem is the one-syllable word of the 1st triplet, which is displayed in all capital letters.
This line is followed by a two-syllable line, and then a three-syllable line, both of which clarify
the definition of the poem, or are synonyms for the title. The 2nd triplet has 5, 6, and 7
syllables. Its design is based around a life event contained within the triplet which helps give
a poetic view or outlook on the first line - the title. The last line is 8 syllables, and is in
quotations as this line contains a quote that defines the first word -title.

Bouncing Along the Boulevard to Nirvana

Somedays you bounce high,
Somedays you barely rotate once.
Sometimes you even get a flat.
But the trip is a long one, And
chances are good you'll get what you want,.
Maybe not all, but a sizeable portion.
Life is a compromise
My only advice is to keep a portion of yourself,
set aside, with no sharing. This is the pure magic in
you, incapable of being hurt or disappointed, It is your refuge
when the ravages of fate strike..
When once again you experience the heartbreak
of disappointment at the hands of others you had trusted and/or loved....
Just remember, keeping a little something of yourself, to yourself, for yourself,
well guarded, does not mean you can't intereract pleasantly with
others. The Soup has the 'Cream Of the Crop"- talent, intelligent, insightful.
People I am proud to be associated with.

A Song For The Angels To Sing

Last year I knew a poet that died,
He was tired of suffering
I wander if he’s still writing now
Writing songs that the angel’s to sing.

I know he made it to Heaven so fair
But I’m still left wandering.
If this servant of God is still writing songs
Writing songs for the angel’s to sing.

I know my uncle’s in the presence of God
I want to know what in Heaven he’s doing.
I figure he’s still doing the writing he loves,
He’s writing songs for the angel’s to sing.

Sharing with Dad

Don't you tell me how you feel,
shut your trap now here's the deal,
you do all the things you should,
and if your'e really,really good,
I won't beat you with a switch,
I won't kick you in the ditch,
I won't scream and
punch your head,
just be glad that you're
not dead.
Go share that and see what's what,
you think you're so stinking hot,
now go to bed or scrub the floor,
don't let me hear that stuff no more.

A PRIDE of LINES

   a pride of lines
a line of pride
the words you write
the road you ride

   reflections on a pomegranate
music from another planet
ripples on the stream of time
letters written in your rhyme

   lines on lines
you wrote and said
   spoken,written,
in your head

   measure me
a pride of lines
that your faith in me refines
bring me back a souvenir

  of our love,
     I love you dear.

Love Thy Word(s)!

From taunting the bee,
I paused awhile and stared
at them, a couple.

She was yelling at him.

Curse words of her sunk, deeply
into his heart, yet he managed though
to smile. And while I was

cowering in silent fear,

he approached her, like
a grounded child and then
kissed her.

When whirlwind subsided, finally
their splendiferous rite continued,
my ole spirits sung, with such relief.

“Alleluia to the heaven’s sky!”

…for I won’t be
choosing in which cup
I must drink.

Passion(s)

         Passion …
A Breathless – Flight
Into Beautiful, Light
then … Floating Languorously Down
into Red, Rose Petals and Our Arms Around…

         Passion …
Oh You Daring-Dancing Flames
Unashamedly Blaze
You Mesmerizing Sight
adds to This Mist-Fall Night
Intense, Consuming, Sparks, and Touch Flickering
… Gold-Glow and Warmth and Whispers, Lingering…

         Passion …
not just – Romeo and Juliet or Paris and Helen of Troy
not just the Fascination of a Young Girl and a Boy
but also: God and His Son, The Arts, and Songs, like ‘Ode To Joy’
and Dancing and Chocolate, Ice Cream and Chunky-Chips-Ahoy’
and when I’m Writing or Reading Poetry… Please Do Not Annoy !
I’m Happy as a Child, Playing with my Pen and Paper Toys…

                                  Passion …
I am Pliant in Its Hands … and I am Yielding to the Pleasures
                             of My Passion(s)

A Poem

Truest as the love from the heart that beats from our breasts,
That the daughter of mine, Matilda, is sick to the wonders,
who lies stoned cold and emotionally depressed watching the skies
grow bluer and nature's green so bold as she lays to rest.

Her violet eyes, now to gray, tells that I can merely scarce the pain,
and as truest of the love that beats from the heart in our breasts,
that soul does crave a wondrous treasure that rings so
Bold but timid and yet it speaks all in rhymes.
She lips out the words, "Read me a poem just one last time"

And my fingers roam amongst a page,
So soft as I read, "Nothing Gold can Stay."

Honored By Friends

What can one say?
You made my day!
Oh, and by the way....
Cinquain....
Did I miss the
train to Cinncinati?
Wouldn't be surprised,
Cause I'm "Batty"!!!

PS- I just finished the
"Ballerina Poem"
I had stopped early on,
to deal with this gnawing
physical pain.

You R The Best!!!
Luv, tom

Recycle of Life

Together a chance,never romance
but I enhance, my enter strength
toward you to express
our mistakin interest,for eacother
the reflection of one another
not one of one a mirror but of a sender, recieving mail
from the hardships in jail to escape hell
in the mind
I am one of kind
to you im true
which makes one of two
me half of our whole
me reaching into you soul
my traits blow at a constant rate
to create an offspring great as a king or prince
in the eyes of the grown the suspence
he displays at his throne
exploring the unknown
searching for a path that sewn, knitted
as grandmas quilt neat well built
without any guilt or burden to carry
beautiful woman to marry
full of dreams and aspirations
experiencing the sensation, of being with a women
not of sex but of loven to place beans in the oven
to enjoy the meaning and express the upbringing of a being
thats part of three, showing unity
love a family tree
no she dont look like me but resembles a face, color of our past
history
as the cycle repeats itself
family expands a new book on the shelf
a new page or chapter full of life
once upon a time, the end
that begins a new life line

Thoughts, Comments

From a sleepy mind, unable to sleep...
These words I do feel deep...
The Soup has become my
number one family
One I spend my time with great joy,
I hope I don't too often annoy...
But that's what ya get,
When ya read a dumb goy...

Seriously (or as close as I can get)- to Christy- I am so glad you love the Shivaree
song- it was on the ending soundtrack to Kill Bill II. I first heard of it on a great
NYC college radio station, WFUV, from Fordham University...I was driving when I
first heard it, and nearly crashed! I was awestruck, and haunted...I ordered the
CD from Amazon (you can get anything there!)...and have heard it many times. I
have not been able to "get into" most of the other songs, because if you put a
Picasso next to the Mona Lisa, you can't really judge. I have trouble lately getting
a continuous clean video (on You Tube, same as you)- and hope there is a video
available from Amazon, but haven't checked it out yet.
To my precious Shar, you are so sweet, and easily the most popular poet on the
soup (well deserved)- I often get so wrapped up in writing, I have to train myself
to read more- And I've been trying...ever amazed by the talent I read, there is not
enough time in the day...and the reading is so pleasureable, it ought to be taxed!
(oops, none of us want that, it was a pun..."Monty Python"...the parrot sketch),
what a joy to have this great library to enjoy for years to come...And Christy, why'd
ya' send the racoon here?- He just left and I had to join "The Racoon Club" to get
him to go...Ya'll great, and I still got an hour or three left in me...

Versed

Versed in minor poems
Until I came to thee
Doors then opened
That were closed

Exposing delight
For me to see
Your countenance
Enthralled me

The many poems
Of many races
The poems
Of many hues

Oh the joy of reading
All well versed
Of Mother Earth
Through Poetry Soup

Sweep me through a summer's day
I'll pick up memories along the way
and when the winter hits the sea
I'll save some salt for you and me
The autumn's moon I'll sketch in red
The valient spring in blue
But most of all, summer or fall
I'll write of me and you...

THINGS I'LL TRUELY MISS

The tenderness of your kiss
All the things I'll truly miss
The beauty of the day
The sky that's far away
All the stars in the sky
Every plane that passes by
The stillness of the sea
A reflection of me
Everybody that I love
Each a beautiful dove

Paint Stains My Floor

Paint stains my floor
As she’s mixing a new variety
Dipping into a new crush
On what is visually stimulating
Her walls are cluttered now
No longer a solid blue
They’re blasted with thought
I wonder what it means
But I let her be
She has her pictures
I have my words

Seizures

Sweet seizures,
I get them these days,
Come awake,
In a foggy haze...

Just drop to the floor,
Sometimes unaware
Save for bruises
and an overturned chair

Can't drive no more,
Too dangerous,
For sure
Just go on my way
With pain every day

Only Soup and music
Distract my pain
And suddenly,
I'm me again

So thank you,
Dear Soupers,
Such treasured friends,
I hope I amuse you,
Cause it's love that mends

And I get plenty,
Right here,
On this marvelous site,
Although, at times,
It keeps me up all night..

Thank you Poetry Soup Management
You serve the world well
This you can say
Was a quote from Tom Bell.

Poets are Special!

yes, poets are special people
they take the time
to think of things
others would never dare
well, we may-
have a little trouble
paying our bills
but to a poet
money's just that
stupid green stuff
corrupter of thought
corrupter of morals
corrupter of a sense of perspective
corrupter of hearts
blindfolds to simple human concern
instigator of betrayel
bringer of clouds
pollution to water
proud generator of the devil's leer.
keep your money!
I'd rather have love,
or, lacking that, respect
I'd rather sleep well at night
I'm no monk
I'm just not a skunk!

My Sister the Poet

My sister the poet
Will let it be known
Of her past life and her so many homes
Of all her good memories and all of the bad
She is quite talented and has a lot to say
Her life with the devilish man who called himself her father made her that way
Mean as a snake when you make her mad
But the nicest person you’ll ever meet
A down right Christian, she is
And when you do something wrong she lets you know about it
Most parents tell their kids ‘Santa’s watching you’
But my sister instead says ‘Jesus is watching you’
At the moment she is writing a book of poems of all her childhood memories
From the very first to the very worst
Her subjects vary from her sister to her brother
From riding in a toy car to building an outhouse
But not all of it is funny
Some of it makes you really appreciate the life you’ve got
Wether it’s happy or sad
Or makes you angry and mad
It all flows together and it all tells a story of a life from hell that we are all glad
we didn’t have
To my sister the poet
I love you very much
And I wish I had your talent
I wish you the best of luck with your book
Keep up the good work

Valentine's Day Birthday

My sweet Ruby's birthday,
Naturally on Valentine's day,
In her honor, the NY city of Beacon
Will close their schools!
Ain't that a kick?
Though, sadly,
She seems to be "missing in action" lately,
Many wonder why,
She is so loved on this site,
Many of us cry....
So come back home,
To the five and dime,
We'll even through in some
Jimmy Dean sausages!!!

Or, as Kenny Roger's first song went,
"Ruby, don't take your poems to town!"

Unsuspected Poet And His Poem On A Napkin

Whilst we, comfortably, sat
In a not so trendy bar, over a pack
Of Marlboro Light and a bottle
Of Bandol wine,
He wrote his poem
On a piece of napkin, moving me
To sit closer, next to him, to read it;
His words and style were beautiful
And well-crafted; perfect, for an
Enameled frame, for my room’s boring
And empty wall, I thought.

The final stanza, vividly, speaks
Of his true love
For me….only for me, a promise;
And, he ended it without a period or
A question mark;
Yet, I decided to place a period on it,
Even though he asked me not, but I must…
Upon hearing this angel’s little voice:
“Mommy…mommy, look!
There’s daddy, with a young lady!
Will she be my nanny?”

Surrounded

Surrounded by electronic...
Wizards of words...
Words of wisdom...
Wisdom of experience...
Experience of all cultures,
Cultured, and nurtured in talent,
To read, understand,
And accept words of others...
So rare...so rich of mind....
No machine guns and bombs...
But words, ideas...
And love...simple,
Uncompensated love...
Where minds meet,
And stay as one...
The Soup is rich in ingredients,
It nourishes one's soul...
The bowl is full...
The heart is open.

Crawling Out of Bed

Sun's up....
Me too....
Head first for the computer...
To see what might be new....
Not in world news,
Though I will soon get to that....
But first to check the Soup,
To see who has stirred the vat,
The cauldron of words we cook,
The wisdom that we serve....
The heights of love we expose,
Ths soaring joy of verve...
A reason for getting up,
Even when the body aches...
A reason to feel steady...
Even when our body shakes...
No medicine competes,
With the magic of the Soup,
Like the classic Jewish chicken broth,
A medical wonder if one exists,
How it heals us so thoroughly,
Is so far one that science surely does miss.

I Asked

I asked the spirit why it was blue
And it smiled and replied “Blue holds the truth”
I asked the dove why it was so white
And it replied, “So that all may see the light”
I asked the moon why it was so cool
And it continued to spin…
I asked the Saint Bernard to walk the dog
And it began to dance
I asked the horse to whinny
And it did, as the pony pranced…
I asked the family; why do you love me
And they replied, “Because you’re you”
I asked myself: "How came I to be so blessed”
And the answer came --you have followed
The path pursuing
The Truth shining
And so I kept quiet
Because every thing was perfect
So glad I asked…

The Educators Within

There is a voice within us all
Some don’t hear, some do
But if you listen very hard
Then they will speak to you

They speak the wisdom of the world
They help along the way
They offer words when times are tough
Upon those darkened days

Some speak sweet, some are strong
Some can be quite mean
Though, try to listen when they speak
They’re a lot more than they seem

Do not suppress them, for they’ll die
To never again return
Keep them going, listen long
They teach a lot, so learn

It's not what, but how

It's not what someone said
But how it made you feel

It's not what you have achieved
But how you succeeded

It's not what you own
But how you obtained it

It's not what you dream
But how to make them come true

It's not what memories you have
But how many more to come

It's not what made you fall in love
It's how to keep the love alive

Remember Where You Came From

Your way was long and your road was rough
You made it somehow though your life was tough
Since you were not alone as a small beginner
These important people you should remember

Remember your family and your blessed birth
Don't forget all their love and all they're worth
Remember their support and their belief in you
Don't forget their sacrifice that helped you through

Remember willing friends' empathy
Don't forget their comfort and their sympathy
Remember their gifts and all their loans
Don't forget they welcomed you into their homes

Remember the Lord who should always be first
Don't forget that He fed you and quenched your thirst
Remember He sustained you and took you in
Don't forget that He gave you those family and friends

And remember who you are as in your beginning
Don't forget to stay humble and gracious in giving
Remember equity should be your inference
Don't forget your success is to make a difference

Surely it's true that your beginning was small
But you obtained your goal though some despised it all
For you were upheld by the strength of your loved ones
So always remember where you came from
