Tungsten Glow

Tungsten Glow

Ideal's the emptiness amid stone scapes;
Invited souls - two dancers times enfold;
Invoke the past, rose thorns redraw its shapes
the years sustain recalls of feelings' mold.

Recite old scripts - the weather's voice is cold,
an audience of ghosts their steps extol
the shrines remember them on timeless role,
Adventive cadence is their final goal.

Consorted on the broken glass, they bleed
their lives ascended amid rains of red
maintained and held their words, old ends impede
somehow the birds forgot to sing and fled.

The runnel wraiths of emptiness out-traced
existences' odd trails and righteous shed
where acquaintances devoid embraced
- their solitude; and in the woods winds fled.

Rose-feverish their tips caress time's strings;
and dithered silence shines her splendid glow,
lone glances coil on tungsten glowing rings,
and abstinent redraw - their tears redraw.

Wounded Wanderings - Picture Perfect

A gray and dreary sky was drawn this morn though love was in my heart of hearts aglow, as I called out to you, a rift was torn, and through the rift, so silent, fell the snow. Ah, you have passed my heart, my love; I know, a barefoot specter follows through the white. Once warmed by passion’s kiss and love’s delight now, only memories fill my beating heart, and I can but shiver in the dead of night awaiting the cock’s crow, I will depart.

Mirror Ball

I'm sure this hill is where it stood.
Amazing shapes of stuccoed wood.
A glass-brick, neon stream-lined place.
As if it flew from outer space,

A swing band auditorium,
An Art Deco emporium,
When romance, innocent in pace,
From dancing to a teasing chase.

The town grew west in modern haste
And down it came, without a trace.
The war and culture's change in taste,
Predestined doom, the past erased.

The future sighs, with solemn face
The wrecking ball, the glittered waste
No plaque to read "Historic Sight".
The swirling dust, a dance goodnight.

To Endear Me To You

What more can I do to endear me to you?
How can I endlessly draw your gaze?
How might I incline your heart to be mine,
To reside beside mine, always?

You might have guessed that you are my Muse—
The source of all my inspirations.
I’m doing my best to respond to your clues
To permanently win your affections.

Each song that I sing, each verse that I rhyme,
Are meant to attract your attentions.
Each bouquet that I bring, endless time after time,
Are just my endearing enduring expressions.

My soul’s compass always points towards you,
Pulled by more than just mere attraction.
My life is in focus, and my sky’s brightest blue
When I am searching in your direction.

What more can I do to endear me to you?
How can I cement your gaze?
What must I refine to call your heart mine,
That our paths may entwine, always.

Inspired by the song CHERISH by the group The Association.

Don't Promise me the World

Don’t promise me the world
That’s not yours to give
Neither promise me forever
When all you have to give is today
Just give me your today
And all it encompasses
And should forever come and finds us here
Our mere presence would speak of our genuine love

Gift

The day’s beginning is a special gift.
Given over a life’s eternity,
One can’t help but feel the daily change.
How often we stay into the evening. An attempt to hold
Onto the feelings of joy and elation,
That made our day so emphatically special.

Are not the future possibilities also special?
That we dream of yet other gifts,
gifts of such thought, that might also inspire elation
From giver and receiver for all eternity.
Constantly close to both, holding,
As if to say, “Don’t Ever Change.”

Does growth not require change?
Should not that change be also special?
Only if you have forgotten about holding,
The longing embrace of previous gifts,
One that requires attention for all eternity,
fueling existential feelings of elation.

Even when intentionally forgotten, holding
On to the recipient, despite elation.
At one point, this internal agony was a gift.
What could ever make this change?
This gift that could never be more special.
Now it has changed for eternity.

The re-direct of energy through eternity,
The loss of love’s forever embrace.
Love, making pain beautifully special.
Will there ever be elation?
Maybe if we only change
The way we exchange special gifts.

Our future’s eternity might fill with elation
From holding the exchange
Of something special,
… the mere appreciation of a gift..

Too Soon, My Love - Too Soon

So, here we are again, my dear
Our wondering hearts are trembling with fear
Of the step we took in the pale moonlight
Now, beholding each other in the bright sunlight.

Remember our plan? We'll take it slow
We'll allow our hearts and love to grow
Without the pressure of passion released
Too soon - but now, where do we go?

Is it time for us now to say good bye -
Do we gather ourselves and give it a try;
Are we done, my love, and now we start
On a future that tears our love apart?

Oh, help me now to understand
How we lost control of our senses and
That now, our passion being fulfilled
We ponder if our love is stilled.

Yes, here we are again, sweet dear,
Two wondering hearts now filled with fear
For the step we took while under the moon
Was it too soon, my love - too soon?

I fell in like with you

Inspired by one of my favorite bands, Rise Against, and the song is called,
“Ever-changing” (Acoustic). Please listen to this song if you don’t know of it. It’s raw &
powerful.

“Have you ever been a part of something? That you thought would never end. But then, of
course, it did.” –Rise Against

“I fell in ‘Like’ with you”

With her smile
I melted unto oblivion’s redemption
Candy coated perceptions, windows’ gap
Seeping brilliance refreshment

Uncertainty resolution, polished
Absorbed into closeness sun
Yet these eyes still…see
Butterflies taking notice, missing you…as you stood in front of me

Strong, yet soft legs
Foundation of my face to rest upon
Scars…fading
A cremated sin

Yet, elongated moments of silence
Created abruption’s new face

The face of change
When she turned to me and said
“I’m not sure, anymore”

Emotional lullaby, rocking me to sleep
New battles with spectral flashback
Trying to get under my skin, a drunken tick facing demise

Phoenix’s sunrise, rejuvenating my recycled defenses
Yet, today, these rays just aren’t bright enough to burn sadness away

And with these sounds of storm clouds & Fall on horizon’s breath
These grounds are so familiar, yet bittersweet
This heart doesn’t want to be enlightened by karma today

It wants to be held for how it shines now

Denied…distance wins again today
Slavery whipped punishments in miles and blocks
This must end

Because I try to keep lines open to get a call from you
Yet all I hear are booty calls with busy signals

And yet something has kept me here too long
But can they leave me, if I’m already gone?

Something has kept me here too long
Karma’s laughter

But, through it all, I will shine

…

How I wish my mere presence can bring joy’s tear to her eye

Sadly though, now, the lines are drawn
Yet I wonder if this feeling is gone
Have the best parts of this…come and gone?

…

Maybe I’ll never know the truth

Perhaps she was misguided by jealousy’s deprivation
Deteriorating heart’s splendor

While I fell in “like” with her

Perhaps “Better Man 2.0” appeared from Cloud 9’s fallacy

While I fell in “like” with her

Perhaps
She held onto the past

As I, drawn to waterfall’s edge
Allowed myself

To let go…and F

I Once Loved the Sun

In those younger years
I made a friend of the sun
And allowed her to bathe me
In brown creamy skin

In those younger years
I ran across a beach
And played with the sun
Let her sprinkle freckles
Upon my healthy golden cheeks

In those younger years
I had my way
With the sun
Took her in so many
Different positions
Under the burn of her sultry touch

In those younger years
I traveled to exotic climes
Just to enter my sunshine heaven
And soak up her glow

But the cave I now inhabit
Shuts out all the warming rays
The cave in which I hide
Repels all her sunny ways

The cave I made from earth and
Resignation
Never lets her kiss within
The cave I excavated
Collapses upon my daily sins

In those younger years

I once loved the sun

Loving and Breathing (Dilemma of The Broken Hearted)

Inhaled at the age of innocence,
with a breath that lies between stars,
with immortal depths that have no
ending as my lungs forever expand,
Exhalation has become unachievable,
due to the obstruction of faith
of a boy for his very first dream,
Chest heaving as a heart aches,

Is love a tree or the deepest ocean?
My breath or my reason for holding?
The questions unanswered since the
dawn of man and emotion alike,
Thus the bittersweet conclusion
appears that love equals the two,
Yet how does such beauty create
a pain that suffers from insomnia?

Expendable only to a few torn souls
who have breathed the sweet intoxication
of love, and caressed the linger of its enticing
aroma, and suffered the sting of its departure,
Leaving hearts which cannot withstand the
agony, to exhale affection for everything in
its entirety, crushing the hope of such youths,
yet this warning takes nothing from its appeal,

For to breathe love, is to touch enchantment,
As romance itself in but a breathe shared
between two spirits rewarded for persistence,
With the risk of being proven fallible,
which leads to tears and pain entwined,
Must we not embrace the risk as reward?
For those as myself, who answered "no"
are condemned to the most fragile breathing,

For each breath hurts like the last
One love, one lost, one breath in all,
Breathing her in as if she has become
the last breath of oxygen in my life,
For she has, she has become my only,
due to a choice made for the perfect love,
Yet my painful irony has become, breathing
and loving, with each one, keeping
the agony of the other alive forever

Through the depth of your despair

Through the depth of your despair, let me be the one who heals your wounded heart.
To prove that I mean you no harm, I place my heart beneath your feet but tread softly,
for mine is just as fragile.

Shameful Morning

not sure how she got here
only know she needs to leave

underneath the stranger
my arm numb; asleep,
mouth a desert.
a hundred dead cigarettes dance my tongue dry

princess of night
exposed by light.
get me out of this;
another dreaded morning mess.

bed broken
along with my will.
I swore never again;
the lie is half the thrill.

Certifiable Kiss

I have enough time
Yes 'cause love's alive and baby in its prime
Oh it is just like
Success ain't fun and games but for the saint's life

Yeah he'll pray but maybe Hell'll hit
Faithfully turn off the safety
Baby Cupid shoots shells with hollow tips
He'll lose an eye and they'll think he's crazy so
We'll say it gave him a gift
Baby the trait of a certifiable kiss

Girl I see you have more than usual
Yeah even before you visualize the visible
With a noble temper, mature and golden in a
A higher temperature than a crucible's molten innards

But there's a secret to your strategy
And it's a tragedy 'cause darling you had to be
So naturally keen at dodging me

And it's a line of defense
And girl you make a fence
So girl I take offense

Oh I know it's cliché but yeah they say that great men make it in-
To places few others who even do take the risk've ever been

But the only one in my blood that
That doesn't shine like the sun it
It naturally has to be the one where
I refuse to call it a pun when
I call you up to call you the one, there's

A secret to your strategy
And it's a tragedy 'cause darling you had to be
So naturally keen at dodging me

And it's a line of defense
And girl you make a fence
Hence I take offense

Oh to ward off Hell to reach towards Heaven
You play the chords
You make me insane but maybe I'll give you your credit
Oh to ward off Hell to reach towards Heaven
You play the chords
You make me insane but baby I'll give you your credit

Night Poem

It waits...
A prickle about to lodge
In the heart of a Mighty Light

Above the low-dipped setting sun
The Knightly Night prepares to come

To lift me like a rising fog
Up to greet the countless stars -
That twinkle at a Sun's descent.

The horizon painted with lullaby
Of colours and their somber tune
Day's bed is laid behind blue mountains
And quietly it goes to sleep.

Inside the womb of a Sleeping Day
Begins a fierce protest
of dreaming thoughts
Now stirred awake.

Then out of the thick and cluster
And whatever dangers of flight await
Newborn wings of thought emerge
And rise and rise and rise
Captured by the winds of Night -
Arisen

To wander heights
To kiss the skies
To dance to the gentle humming
Of spirit drums -
Wings beating
A duet with the breeze.

So when day comes breaking through
Dawn is greeted by what was writ
At the festival of it's eve.

With merriment's ink:
A Kiss;
A dance;
A song etched deep:
Art carved out of sky.

That Which Is Real

Oh to be just a friend
To laugh, joke and play with you
Is not something
I know how to do
Oh how I wish it were
For it’d sure eliminate
All this pain I feel
Sometimes it happens
That starting off fun
Turns into something real
And what was meant to make you laugh
Turns into tears
That seem to take
Life’s breath away
Leaving you to feel
Like there’s so much left to say
If only this, if only that
If I only could, if you only would
So many tricks of the mind
As we try to find
Justification for holding on
To what should be freed
So we can move on
Yet we hold out hope
In each accidental hello
That tides will turn
Though they have long washed away
It’s just the way of life
And how love burns
Until we learn
The difference in what we feel
And that which is real

Always, Almost, Here

Carve the face of the sleeping moon in a
Pebble of bone and set it in silver,
Adorn another finger.
I see his soft, peaking profile when my
Hand lies where you should be.
An inward smile unfolds inside me and
Gently calls my eyes to close so I can
Imagine you, here, for a while.
Beneath my palm, the pillow is the
Velvet curve of the back of your head,
And the cold blue wall is the bricks of
Your back, where my kisses would fall
Between your blades.
I could lose a whole week to the sound
Of your laughter, that iridescent song which
Lingers in my hair like a perfume or spice.
I tell my ears I can hear the lyrical
Tide of your breathing, and I long to be
Drifting on those languid waves which
Soothe the shore.
I'm sure your love which lives in me
Recalls the very essence of you, mirrors
Each facet, so you're
Always,
Almost,
Here
When I put my mind to it.

Crackling Hearts an Onomatopoeia Poem

Crackling Hearts

Swoosh, whoosh a salty sea soars,
splish-splash colossal waves a roar.
Drip-drop, a leaky faucet spent,
trickle, streaming tears repent.

Pounding heart sore, you adore,
beating, loving pumps no more.
Thump of regret, of love in debt,
thrashing together you forget.

Fluttering beats on retreat,
sloshing a scent so very sweet.
Shattering bond, broken beyond,
a bellowing future now so fond.

Grimacing glares, hatred a flares,
spawning an odium of stares.
Soured smiles, trekking every mile,
whispering woes all the while.

Crackling hearts, burned apart,
smoldering pain from the start.
Hissing highs, kissing goodbye,
a burning love affair denied.

*An Onomatopoeia Poem people, but no place to choose that category! Thanks for taking the time to view my work, my fellow poet and poetess friends!

I Am Bored With Disenchantment

Deep, deep, deep like the old closed cold cold grave
Down in a dark chamber of loneliness
Resides this horrible and constant boredom
Never is there a slight filling this need

Romance disappeared like misty morn fog
It was clinging wrapped like very wet tee-shirts
But slowly dried and left me wondering
What in the world has really happened here

Was not like tsunami with deadly waves
More subtle like soft splashing gentle waves
Those of low tide on a very calm day
Romance gone__disenchantment here remains

Cheater's Chair

A destructive dance indeed,
betwixt the two we bleed.
A bellowing, bloody abate,
this stale, seductive state.

Simple, senseless steeds,
jealous fires feed.
Perjuring petty plights,
demons do delight.

A crimson, cheaters chair,
awful angers air.
No trust, truth or taste,
wallowed wantons waste.

Envious, eager eyes,
rejoicing a wrathful rise.
Coveting, careless couth,
yesteryear's eager youth.

The Beach of Promises

The Beach of Promises

1.

Fingers entwined, barely touching,
turquoise waters teasing your dancing toes,

strolling along that serene deserted beach,
our promised dreams within aching reach.

2.

Hands clasped, holding on,
sea-breezes tickling the nape of your neck,

walking together, alone, vowing to never breach,
the dreams dreamed on that faraway velvet beach.

3.

Hands in my pockets, alone,
traces of you linger, teasing,

lost in my scribbles, your memory fading out of reach,

my thoughts ablaze, now and then,
catching a whiff of your fragrance,

wafting through alleyways of nostalgia,
your hand in mine on our pristine beach.

Take me to Duck Heaven

In that glistening azure pond
I had a favorite
A duck
I called
Tawnablu

A quacker kind of
Bird
Recognizable by the
Aquamarine
Feathers
Atop her bobbing head
She swam aloof from
The rest

And refused all bread
Crumbs
Thrown her way
Even the finest bits
Collected from week old
French bread

Leftovers from the
Bakery
Down the road
The one managed by a
Croatian
Kick boxer from the Bronx
The one that
Refused entry to
Shirtless
Skateboarding
Teens
But kindly gave me
All the crusty crumbs I
Could bag
For my
Duck feeding
Addiction

And I am not embarrassed
Not so macho
To say
I loved that duck
My Tawnablu
In ways I can never
Describe

But let me try
To put my affection
Into words

Just this once:

Tawnablu, my pretty Canard
Quacking so hard
I want to ride your back
Down a stream
Without end

Tawnablu, my epic Canard
Quacking so hard
Take me, wild beauty
All the way to
Duck Heaven

An Ode To My Beloved

I just wanted to let you know
That I have this love for you...
Although I'm not fast to show
For you, there's nothing I wouldn't do
And I can't control this love
No matter what I try to do...

While I know our lives are separating
Which has got me pretty blue
I just want you to know
How much I love you...

Because I was blinded by shyness
And now my heart's feeling rugged
So this here's An Ode To My Beloved

Oh how I still see you every night in my mind
You're the best girl I feel I'll ever find
And when my eyes would fall upon your smile
My heart would be put on trial
And so if nothing else, I want to let you know
That I'll always love you, that my hearts beat
For you, won't ever slow...

Because I was blinded by shyness
And now my heart's feeling rugged
So this here's An Ode To My Beloved

So I wish you happiness beyond compare
And sorry for the times I couldn't help but stare
Caring, passionate, smart, and loving
From my heart, to you, I'll never be shoving

You will always be in my heart
No matter where we go, how far we drift apart...

Goodbye My Love...

Rose Hips Lady

Rose hips lady
Your field is ripe
Bury my torn body
In that rain-soaked night

Taste those sweet confessions
On your baby breath
Lift this wounded flag
Into your burning nest

Oh, yes, I will
I will

Rose hips lady
Your field is ripe
Bury my torn body
In that rain-soaked night

Tame the roaring tiger
Never lets you rest
Take my last reward
From your moonlit breasts

Oh, yes, I will
I will

Daddy’s gone hunting
He’s gone away
Daddy’s gone hunting
Won’t be back for days

Left you with a lover
Makes a shrine
Of your skin

Left you with a lover
Takes you down
Roads of sin

Left you all alone
Alone

And the knots cut deep
Through the musk and flesh
Of hot regret
And the love you need
It’s a shadow
Never lets you rest

You release the Beast
From a well that’s wet
You will confess
That the love you need
It’s a shadow
Never lets you rest

Rose hips lady
Aaaaaah......

Fireworks Hill

Let’s go climb
And move back time
To that mysterious hill
Where a boy first met his girl

Long before
The cynics arrived
Before the laughter died
And God returned the day to night

Where dazzling fireworks
Rained sparkles
On our lives
Two strange birds
Came together
And opened up their eyes

Let’s go climb
We’ll move back time

Fireworks Hill, Fireworks Hill
Far from my mind
Never forgotten
Fireworks Hill, Fireworks Hill
We became one there
So very often

And there are vivid colors
Blasting through the sky
Dancing rainbows
I really want to taste
There is weeping smoke
Painting all the stars
Burning graveyards
For the human race

Let’s go climb
And move back time
To that mysterious hill
Where a boy first met his girl

We’ll race to the edge
Fulfill our pledge
It was written in blood
The heat of our love

Oh, jump, baby, jump
We’ll fly away together
Jump, baby, jump
Our bodies joined forever

Let’s go climb
And move back time
To that mysterious hill
Where a boy first met his girl

Fireworks hill, fireworks hill
I see the sparkles in the air
Fireworks hill, fireworks hill
I smell the dazzle of your hair
Fireworks hill, Fireworks hill
We flew to Heaven over there

Let’s go climb
We’ll move back time
(Forever…with you)

Beautiful Lies

Beautiful Lies

One beautiful lie , an unvoiced sonnet
Words veiled with a crime that steals my hearts last beat
Slow turn of your mood shows me disquiet
With kisses warm and vulgar with deceit.

One pulse stills, our love was not the one love,
Just remains of a lukewarm cup of tea.
You steep and brood, one pineing the lost dove.
My broken wing lame, I fall into the sea.

Beautiful lies, my heart begs for your fires
To hear the words forged my way by anvil
Beautiful lies, hope grows dim and expires
Waiting for judgment by divine gavel

Tremble my lips , tears fall dry from my eyes
Protect me from madness, beautiful lies.

I Am Poetry

I stand solo, aloof in the snow, a precipitation
of words cascading from a nebulous eye
Fathoms wide, forever dripping like wax onto
a punctured paper serving a Sanskrit sky,

and spreading into sibilant sentences swiftly
sliding from syllable sorcery to soulful serenades
so silent in the shunting shout of white. Poetry
fills a churning void where novels cannot wade,

Phrases solidifying into idolisation of emotion
itself, isolation of the isometric individuality that so
Crushes my keeling cavern of thought, ever
careering from caustic career path to another new low,

Which so seems to crumble into crazy paving’s
counterpart. In this first freeze-frame we can all grasp
A fraction of the familiar, oh so fractured by the
fumbling nature of enforced form. Freed by the gasp

Of a photo-opportunity glowing phosphorescent
with firsts, I am no longer framed by the festering
Constraints of non-fiction, and folding my fond
farewells carefully, I hesitantly face a vision pestering

Me, fearing the fiend that would open maw and
gnaw beneath my feet, evoking an avalanche of the
Vernacular, but I am further past this unfed
existence now, loosened from the fickle friendship of a

Winter thaw. Focus not your gaze on the grinding
gauze of the greats, for the pressing pestilence of
Perishable poetry is elsewhere pondering its parallels
in posturing and post-modern pining for forlorn love.

Praise no other; I am poetry.

Antigone

I am the face of misery
My life, a dissonance of autumn and spring,
The years are written in the same
Lugubrious, nostalgic grey
How can it be the author to blame?
I cannot scream this all away…
Burn nor Bleed this all away…
To Death I am Ordained

Lacuna ever growing
With Velvet sheets of life flowing
Aeons apart of my "royalty"
Under the mask the cannot see...
Can you dispel this tragedy:
Antigone - Epiphany failing

If it must be…
Then just kill me,
(Antigone) sing me out of reality;
I wear this dissonant crown of shame
(Antigone) Of a kingdom's disdain
I hate to be this way... normalcy's bane
(Antigone) Here comes the edict, to blame
The sordid child of Thebes,
This is me,
Antigone

No words of hope
No words of hate
Do I have Lenore to send to me:
The sordid child of Thebes
Caught In the longest nightmare
life - the slowest way to die

I know this is my life
But I'm not under control
under the mask the will see
Just Another Human

If it must be…
Then just kill me,
(Antigone) sing me out of reality;
I wear this dissonant crown of shame
(Antigone) Of a kingdom's disdain
I hate to be this way... normalcy's bane
(Antigone) Here comes the edict, to blame
The sordid child of Thebes,
This is me,
Antigone

If it must be…
Then just kill me,
(Antigone) sing me out of reality;
I wear this dissonant crown of shame
(Antigone) Of a kingdom's disdain
I hate to be this way... normalcy's bane
(Antigone) Here comes the edict, to blame
The sordid child of Thebes,
This is me,
Antigone

Can you dispel my life; this tragedy?
Can you control the storm in my mind?
I'm asking you: can you rid me
Of The Curse of Antigone?

Confused

Confused

If there were thing's I couldn't understand, you was one of them.
Going back and forth with one another, like the wind and does in the howls
of winter. You'd follow me to escape your own reality, only not knowing your shattering mine. You tell me to be me there was a time when I was me and you couldn't stand it like it was looking into the eye's of a demon. How should I respond? Running away only brings more then I can offer.
Now I'm drifting and everything left me,I'll suffer the venom of past and the reoccurring pains.
From the tell's of literature to the mounts of the great wars have I been able to tell just from their looks what they thought that very moment but as I look into your eye's does it not only confuse me it refuses to tell me the truth, why am I looking into my own eyes?
Let me touch your face.Let me look into your eye's.Let me see the truth which is clouded and locked away.Let me see your feelings fall from your eye's.
Burned. Chain. Shackled. Scared. Tortured. Entangled with lies.and yet harbors no hate toward anyone then yourself. How much do you loathe yourself? To the point your a sacrificial offering of your own whim's?
As I search for the truth,I see the many heartbreaks and the lies been told to help but nothing prevails. Yet you look at me looking for the same thing.
We're both confused? We're both in agony? We're the same?
This isn't right.This is a lie.I don't wish to see anymore.
I won't lose to this, nor bow down and be your toy.Yet when I'm close to you,it never cold.
Hold my hand as I fight with myself. Never mind hold me closer until neither of us is cold.Don't lie to me with those pleading eye's,that are like dark's as coal and beautiful as an onyx.
Let's be ourselves.Let's shut ourselves away from this world.Let's search for our own truth. But if there only fear in your mouth, then there's lies.I shall grab your heart and I will hold it like it was the last gem on earth. So scream, hate, and be gently.
I'm confused.Your confused.I will listen,if you will talk.
Have you ever heard these words before? I never have but I will say them to you,you who has the same pleading eye's as me.When we're so much alike yet so different to the point it confusing.

Daybreak

I wake on the sand
Right near the beach
You have yet to awake
Far out of reach
And Daybreak has arrived
A beauty unlike any other
Comparable only to us, girl
And how we love each other

So I gaze up alone
Marveling up at the sky
The warmth of the sun
Drying my eyes
I'm reflecting on us
Oh how each other we trust
I'm just so happy we're together
And I think to myself,
Just as this sun, we'll last forever

Then returning to be with you
I lay again now
Place my hand gently
On your warm tender shoulder
While I think of our lives today, love
And how they'll be when we're older...
I know there'd be no other way
So "I Love You" I make sure I say
To you, each and everyday

A Very Inviting Temptation

A Very Inviting Temptation! I remember of a particular situation. I was offered a very "inviting" temptation. The situation I was in... I didn't belong! And lost any sense of "right and wrong." At first... I felt no guilt or shame. And brought embarrassment to my family's name. I tried to explain this to my wife and kids. I heard; "Dad... please... no more fibs!" The Godly principles were "tossed to the side," As the sin inside caused arrogance and pride. Soon, all in my life that truly mattered... Was gone! My life was empty and shattered! I was sorry for all of the problems I caused! This time... I took a moment to pause. I cried to God to rescue me from my sin. I confessed! Would God help me once again? I read in the Bible of Jesus’ grace and love! This time the help I needed had to come from above! I asked him for a fresh and brand new start. He removed the stain from a broken heart. He restored to me the joy I once had. I'm so blessed! Jesus has made me glad! Jesus is the reason I'm here today! I LOVE HIM more than words can say! By Jim Pemberton

Silly Girl

Seething sounds of laughter,
escape her soft, gentle lips –
Teasing trickery thereafter,
as her beauty abruptly slips.

Vainly seeking redemption,
now lost within a cruel night –
insecurely pursuing an answer,
deeply buried within delight.

Exposing uncertain secrets,
once submerged within a tide –
projecting strength and purity,
her weakness she tries to hide.

Vanity consumes her visions,
devouring her foolish dreams –
succumbing to the realization,
life is not all what it seems.

What a silly, naïve child she is,
believing there’s good in all you see….
What an embarrassment to her vanity,
that silly, naïve child inside of me.

Voice in the Night

How do I thank
The voice in the night?
Call of hope
After the world turned dark

How do I thank
The voice in the night?
Healing words
Made from
Angel heart

Oh, her chocolate whisper
Warm convincing breeze
Oh, her breathy laughter
In the shadow of my need

Don’t you hear the voice?
Save you from despair
Don’t you hear the voice?
Sent by ghosts who care

Don’t you hear the voice?
Rises like a prayer
Come to rescue you
From your earthly snare

How do I thank
The voice in the night?
Call of hope
Kissed my tears away

How do I thank
The voice in the night?
Now I dance
To a magic serenade

Don’t you hear the voice?
Memories of home
Don’t you hear the voice?
Pretty as a poem

Don’t you hear the voice?
Vivifies your soul
Bathes you in a pool
Love you’ve never known

How do I thank
The voice in the night?
Call of hope
After the world turned dark

Voice inside the darkness
Gets into my head
Lady caller,
Take me, take me
To your bed

Voice inside the darkness
Gets into my head
Lady caller
Raise me, raise me
From the dead

Voice inside the darkness
Gets into my head

Garden Rose

Written August 21, 2013

There's a girl in the garden
She's messing with your rose bed
Plucking weeds out from your head
And watering the seeds in your bed

But where will she wander
When the roses are dead
Will she come back for more
When they turn back to red

She can run all alone
Write this story in stone
On concrete slabs
Of skin and bone

My 3AM Wake Up Call

You’re a 3AM
Wake up call
With another sob story
About the latest boy
Who pumped you
Then dumped you
And left you
In a sweaty lonely pile
Upon another
Empty bed

And you cry
Baby girl tears
All over my phone
And you wonder why handsome
Boys
With shining white teeth
With full heads of curly black hair
With six-pack stomachs
And tight muscular
Rear ends
Can not be more like
Mature
Older
Men

“Just like you,”
Baby girl says
“Just like you.”

And you cry
Baby girl tears
All over my phone
And you wonder why reckless
Boys
Who party all night
Who down countless vodka shots
Who shout “muthafukka,” “dude,” "beotch,"
And other raucous
Victory chants
Can not be more like
Mature
Older
Men

“Just like you,”
Baby girl says
“Just like you.”

You want me to empathize
You want me to criticize
The nasty boys
Who took you for another
Cruel and pointless ride

You want me to father you
In a way he never did

But I’m sorry
Baby girl
I’m sorry

I can’t

Because I admire and envy those
Boys
In the prime of their life
Not yet defeated
Not yet haunted
Not yet beaten
By the disappointments that
Await

They are a national treasure
A precious resource

From the exuberant crude shouts of
Irrational wild boys
Come the builders of shelter
The providers of sustenance
The conquerors of enemies
The explorers of frontiers

From the exuberant crude shouts of
Irrational boys
Come the daring adventurers
The first one into the burning house
The last one out of the burning house
The one still standing when everybody else
Fled

From the insatiable loins of such
Irrational wild boys
Come the fierce wild girls
Who dance insanely upon tables
Who run naked through the streets
Who make love without limits
In open fields
Upon damp grass
All through the night

From the insatiable loins of such
Irrational wild boys
Come the fierce wild girls
Who cat-fight for their lover
Who kill for their children
Who wail passionately for their dead

From such boys
Baby girl
From such boys

You were born into the world

My crazy baby girl
You were born into the world
Like father, like daughter

And if I could be that young wild boy
Again
The one that you hate
And love
In such a maniacal way

It would be an honor to be with you

An honor to hold you
An honor to love you

Until my dying day.

Zero

I was born pale and invisible
In a world
Sees everything
Everything, everything….but me

Invisible to your touch
And doubt you’ll like me very much
Am I alive?
Was I ever me?

I’m a non-existent cipher
A pointless empty zero
Never added up to anything
A non-existent cipher
Pointless empty zero
Tell me….what does it all mean?

And now I think I want you
Ethereal body
Oblivious mask
And now I think I love you
Intelligent lips
Painted in black

But no need to look my way
Or give me the time of day

Can’t be with you
In this world
Invisible man
Never gets the girl

Oh, no...

I’ll find where you are
And watch from afar
You will be felt by me

I’ll find where you are
And watch from afar
You will be loved by me

Your
Zero
Tonight
Your
Zero
For life
Your zero
The day I die

Your zero….your zero

Zero

I Will Not Understand

The ocean sparkles
in the morning light.
We sip hot coffee;
you cough, turn your head.
Eyes say more than words.
Ties connecting us
dissipate in sunshine.
Waves which wash ashore,
this white-flecked water,
underscore your silence.
Last night, in humid darkness,
velvet-feeling black, we joined --
made pacts that daylight violates.
I will not understand your shame.
You will not see my heart-hurt face,
nor will you long remember
my already half-forgotten name.

The Flames Of Love

I feel the flames of love ignite, Burning me to my very core, As it blazes on into the night; Deep in my heart I know it’s right, I’ve never felt like this before; I feel the flames of love ignite; Sweat glistens in the fire light, And my senses tingle for what’s in store, As it blazes on into the night; Your kisses on my skin, alight; It leaves me begging for more and more, I feel the flames of love ignite; My passion drives me to my height, And in fervor we explore, As it blazes on into the night; We can’t hold back now anymore, In unison our bodies soar; I feel the flames of love ignite, As it blazes on into the night.

Subversive Valentines Day

Once I had a girlfriend and ex-wife.
Two ladies at the same time in life,
Mistake I made this day.
Not proud in anyway.
First mistake, second retake in strife,

Girlfriend I gave flowers for the day.
Ex-wife and I married, oui evay,
Messed up my life again,
Not knowing where I’d been.
Girlfriend forlorn, wrong card I did play.

Ex-wife left me, I got just deserts.
Got what I deserved for all my flirts.
Valentine’s Day, bad karma,
Cupid dealt me, my dharma,
Disengaging me of all subverts.

A LOST MEMORY

You became my best friend, someone I would never ignore.
I know I was selfish, but I wanted more.
She became the one I wanted, and the one I got.
She definitely became the one who showed me love,
And taught me the past should be forgot.
To me she is a memory,
I do sometimes wonder if she remembers’ me.
Constantly she said you loved me I knew she lied,
I could see the fear in her eyes.
I’m letting the pain out,
With out any doubts.
I have to hurry up and let it go,
Before this pain consumes me and I lose control.
When she is around I have to wait a while,
See she doesn’t know but I have to force a smile.
I’ve moved on, so did you.
It’s scary to know you love me too.
Sure I could find someone else so I did not always feel so alone.
But they could never be you I would never feel like I am home.

This poem is for those people who can’t move on…..

Missed it-One day at a time

One day at a time
With the delusion of anger,
falling from my eyes,
The veil of bitterness,
Torn from the one I despised,
My heart withers in my chest
The spell that cast a shadow on this beauties shimmering frame
That hid a wonder a mystery this woman bearing my name.
I cannot believe I’ve lived alongside you for so long
And missed the chorus of a lover’s refrain.
We like strangers in the night
Ships passing by on a foggy sea,
Have rediscovered each other again,
Fearful yet wanting, the task ahead daunting,
Forever changed by the crimson stain,
Leaving us equipped in ways we can never explain.
One day at a time, we live for these moments,
One day at a time, is all we are given,
And by the grace of God our one day at a time will turn into memories
That we will share over a lifetime.

A person I've met before

You are a person i've met before.
The man who stands knocking at my door.
I remember you from my dreams,
Your eyes sparkle and your smile gleams.

You held the door open as I ran in for shelter from the cold weather & rain.
You are the man I stood next to in line.
You are the man I passed by
I danced as you sang the songs chorus.
I pushed my way through...
the sea of people and stopped next to you.
Amidst the crowd we stood, searching for a way out
I looked around, I glanced in your direction, I looked past you
I found my way out, I hurried my way through.
I walked away having not met you.

A second glance, I did not take,
unaware that our meeting was fate.

You are a person i've met before,
Sometime ago on a night like tonight,
The air was warm, the stars shining bright
The night that we met,
I danced that night, I danced and danced until the morning light
I sat to lay my feet to rest, you came to me no different from the rest
You asked me for a cigarette.
An open chance to conversate
knowing this interaction would not lead to a date
We shared thoughts and ideas of similar interests.
such as music and poetry, art and astrology.
At the time I thought nothing of it, a casual meeting of the mind.
Little did I know, I would continue to meet you throughout my lifetime.

You are a person i've met before,
I've read your book of poetry at the local book store.
you write of life, love and family.
You are a person i've met before,
I've seen your paintings, they are hard to ignore
You are the artist I dream of meeting
You are a person i've met before.

You are the man in my dreams,
Your eyes sparkle and your smile gleams.
I've met you 100 times before,
You are the man who stands knocking at my door.

Familiarity

What is it to me
that I cannot place you
in the picture painted by the years
the life has already spent?
Do you merely lurk,
and leave at a much later time?
Or,
maybe
you are staying
because
    you
        are
           meant
                to
                   stay.

Then,
stay.
If you may.
I pray.
While I find a place (for us)
in the picture of eternities,
the gods must be
hiding,
conspiring;
themselves amusing.

Ah, the grand scheme of things -
                            a forgetting.
A familiar spirit we feel -
                            a remembering.

(Note) This piece was inspiredly written for the beautiful souls - even the
strangers - I have met along the way and will still come upon in my lifetime. To
each special one, you have stirred quite a familiar spirit within. A remembrance
of forgotten past, I suppose. Thank you for letting me peak through your
soul's window. The veil of forgetfulness has never been thin as now to me. You
have so given me a gift I shall treasure in the moments I may tend to forget
who I truly am - a being with a soul.

Private Beach

It’s a private beach
And they don’t want
Our kind
There

But I’ve got a bucket
Full of private
Sand
That I’m willing to
Share

I’ll offer it freely
By the cup

Private sand
From a private
Man

Composed of blistered
Dreams
Lots of
Bad luck

And I wouldn’t think
Of charging
For my private
Dust

As long as you love
Me
As long as you
Trust

That a day will come
When my sand becomes
More

Than a bucket of
Prayers
A bucket of
Horror

Look out toward the sea
My love
The waves foam in mad
Design

Look into my eyes
My twin
And know you are
Mine

Just a man
A bucket
And some
Private sand
A man
And his
Bucket
Full of
Crazy plans

It’s a private beach
And they don’t want
Our kind
There

But I’ve got an ocean
Of private
Love
That I’m willing to
Share

Run across the beach
Let me wrestle you to the ground

Kiss you forever
Thank God
For what I’ve found

A lover
Willing to share
Believe in her
Man

In
My bucket
My single
Bucket
Of
Private
Sand

As the Castle Fell

For every step I take toward the sun,
the spark that lit the fire inside me dwindles.
History slated on unforgiving stone erodes;
A weakly chiseled dream.
But I will remember it all,
and tongues shall breed these words
and hold them with intent.
Oh, how we have fallen!
Mighty and meek alike.
We were once just, and strong.
But greatness has cast down it's
poisoned banquet and corrupted hearts
that once bled for glory.
It is with a bitter tongue I speak these words!
Remember the reason we set foot outside
of our city gates.
Remember the certainty in your hearts;
that we men would give people hope!
Hope for life without malice.
Hope for a life of freedom!
A chance for prosperity!
...but what prosperity have we given?
Short of the bountiful throng of arrows that have captured
the eyes of this land and left it's people in fear?
Does a just King rule with the might of fear?!
Or does a King rule with compassion?
I ask you men,
you loyal few.
What would you have me do?
Would you have me slaughter this woman;
this beautiful princess of her people and take her
home as a prize for conquest merely because her
husband was the one that stood in the way?
Is her beauty the cost of her life?
She has wronged not one of us,
and yet you Brakkdus scoff at the thought of
her surviving her King. Why?
Here I thought men of honor followed me,
I thought men of courage swung my blades!
And, yet you fear this woman who could no
sooner do you harm than your own from the
bed that you left her in!
No, Princess Xavia shall survive her King
and remain here with her people.
I refuse to conquer the land of a tyrant,
only to settle for it's fallen ruler's morality!
If that does not befit you, then surely I am not your King.
-James Kelley 2013, All rights reserved

Princess Xavia's Response

I stand with humility before such valor
My people have borne
the burden of swords and arrows,
they are silent with fear and trembling before you
Which would be yours
to burden them with once again
yet you offer them freedom
and me my life...when you could shame not only me
but those who are entrusted to me
I would prefer to fall upon the blades of your men
than to become flesh passed amongst them
the destiny of a woman
who has became the chattel of a lost victory
My blood be shed before such shame
be cast upon me
Yet you.... you have offered me back my Kingdom
and restored my name

Gallant your soul in the shadow of such a night
beneath the dark stars
where only the flames of a burnt, ashen city
provide any warmth for my grieving people
You have offered them hope
through a frail vessel such as myself,
such honor is seldom written upon the hearts of men
in days such as these
Your compassion is a light in this darkness
these times inscribed with blood
such is this age,
when the voice of stones speak more gently
than the hearts of men

Dark are these days and black is the moon
of these nights,
in these lost reveries we journey through
dreams that have become nightmares
Yet strength has arisen in one man,
a leader who throws light back
at the fallen stars
granting the nights a moment of solace
for your honor has returned hope
a light stronger than blaze of the midday sun

And as I take back my broken people
we shall take refuge in your kindness and in that light of lights
shall we rebuild this Kingdom,
our sanguine ties shall bind us
and we will rise.

I gratefully accept my life
returned to me through your kind hands
And secretly, within a whisper
it is my prayer
that when I look upon your countenance
and the time comes
that I shall gaze into your eyes again
it shall be as the queen you have restored
to her throne and to her people
and who keeps quietly within the space between her heartbeats
gratitude...
and the hope that she will share her throne
beside yous
should you find her efforts and her heart
worthy.

Bob, the Forgotten Valentine and Greedy Double Dater

My friends, this saga slowly unfurls
a love story that went quickly awry,
seems greedy Bob dated a pair of girls
when with one, to the other he’d lie.

The homlier girl’s name was Edith
who, nonetheless Bob was fond of,
but, greedy Bob wanted to live out the “myth”
and with sisters, he was sure to find love !

He began slyly asking about sister Kate
for her beauty was equalled by few,
she was young, and he believed her well worth the wait
she had enough sex appeal for two !

Bob’s antics had him severely troubled
because, he covered his tracks day and night,
his love-making prowess had quickly doubled
so his lovelife was going just right !

Well, finally Bob’s saga ended in terror
because the girls both found out what he’d done,
Bob had mixed their names up, in a passionate error
and what transpired next, was not very fun !

One of the sisters had taken Bob’s life
because he’d proven he couldn’t be “true”,
and the lesson he learned, at the end of that knife
taught, “you can’t have your Kate…..and Edith, too !

How Far Will You Fly

How far will you fly?
Cross continent? Moonward?
Across the room?
When will you depart?
Through which gate?
Let me fly with you.
You won't even notice me,
On the wing,
Clinging for life (and love).
Why do you flee me,
choosing a destination
from which it will be
impossible
to book a return?

felt like i did before thats how i know i missed ya
if i could then i woulda grabbed ya hugged and kissed ya
bachelor for eternity missing the bigger picture
you i barely knew, appearing on every vista
i appreciate the support, but what i need is love
tho truth may hurt, better than all of the above
i trusted you cause you represent something ive never done,
who knew that two can prove to be better than one or
first in a place, never won a sum,
bygones gone and a couple of puns
we let the honey run till sweet enough touch
beat around the bush, no rush
it got hotter but the wetaher didnt change
not a cloud in the sky or a drop of blame
no need for a why whenw e had an x
we gotta where we wanted then decided what next

no matter where i go
over land and sea
id rather have you cause one is lonely
keep me company
three not necessary
feels real comfy
has since february

february march april may june july august in a day
the longer we go the more we grow
feeling better each step of the way

if theres a problem we can talk and double check
nothing we cant solve with an embrace and kiss to the face or neck
i love you more than ode and penelope. maria odb
or lil kim and biggie
thank the gods we aint in a greek tragedy
or sometime before 19 sixty
for what is feminin
sent me to my questionin
i quickly collected evidence, respect
exactly what i expected, experiencing the extension
my seconds, perspective as my lessons
i remember when im stressing
to fit into my senses, lower my defenses
soothing if theres tenseness, leaving room for suggestion
did i mention that youre precious
a gift of personal appreciation, when we regard eachother
in highest celebration shared by lovers, so more than any i thank you
for willing to get as close as you do
i hope for you the complimentary is true
im sure if it wasnt we can talk it through its coo
right there is reason why i call you boo

no matter where i go
over land and sea
id rather have you cause one is lonely
keep me company
three not necessary
feels real comfy

We Were Drunk Once

Movies played but seldom watched
As we entangled on the couch
Intoxicated by each other, we drank wine to clear our heads
Things were simple in those times

You were red-eyed and freshly mangled
I wanted so badly to make you smile and forget her
For a time I think I succeeded
We were blissful in our distraction
Playing grown up as we discovered each other

Long nights where sleeping was forsaken
We preferred to lie intertwined
Talking
Smiling
Laughing
The sun would rise and you would leave, reveling in how the hours had escaped us
Smiling at the pink tinged sky
Only to repeat the process nightly

Then we traded places
I am the red-eyed one, and another tries to help me forget you
Sometimes he succeeds
Perspective feels like a cruel joke
Could have
Would have
Should have

Someday he will have red eyes too
A cycle perpetuated

A SCATTERED MESS
RIPPLES OF DETEST
SCATTERED FEELINGS EVERYWHERE
TEARS FLOW INTO THE SEA REMEMBER ME
SCREAMING WITH TRANSPARENT SMILES ALL THE WHILE
PLEADING WITH MIXED UP ENERGY MINGLED WITH MISERY
FOR A RIGHT NOW RESCUE
THIS IS AN EMERGENCY OF DEMAGED EMOTIONS
WITH THE NOTION THAT SOMEONE WOULD HAVE THE COGNITIVE TO SEE
THE PAIN THAT CAUSES THIS DISEASE
W3HILE YOUR ANALYZING MY SOUL IS DROWNING
HEAR THE SLIENT COUGHING....
I PLEAD FOR SOMEONE WITH CAPABILITIES
TO HEAL MY ACHING SOUL WITH THE ENORMOUS HOLE
A SCATTERED MESS.....................................

For the love of you

If only I could make you see
that you mean so much more to me,
a priceless gift, wrapped in a smile,
the dream that makes my day worthwhile,
undoubted proof there is a God,
the joy that not all hope is gone.
To me you are that piece of mind,
that gives the world such sweet reply
that although love is sometimes lost,
its remnants left will never die-

How more could I express my love
for words are but the breath in me
what more can I, a man still do
except to give what's left of me . . .
for lips can flatter all too well
and sing the praise of many things
but you are in a different class
to you . . . . . I give my everything!

If ever I do fail to prove
my strong and constant love for you
then never have I lived a day
or ever took a breath anew.

Doland's pie consumption

Who are you to have ever claimed loved towards me,
someone whom you’ve yet even seen..
but a fool you are, if when passing by, obsess and attest
that for me you would die.

But would you forgive me?
My credulity intact…
If I claim without reason to trail away from deceiving…

Stubbornly amused,
Seemingly lost a friend again,
caught up in the tangents.
so uncouth,
to ennoble ones self through an enmity loaned.
and intoned upon the able fact that without our pact
there would be no tract…
no able pinned feature to allure,
to distract?

How would you abstract in this world,
filled with truth,
‘pon these features we’ve gleamed as it seems to arraign in us
a meaning, a trust…
Our personal tribunal of mutuality…

Paper Thin

Your paper-thin porcelain skin,
I know how to get right under it.
For kicks is why I do it now.
You tell me to love but I never knew how.
Our feet hitting pavement,
We spent the day in sunny California with sun kissed skin.
I’m learning to forget and how to fade scars,
And you let me let myself down so hard.

Your paper-thin porcelain skin,
I know how to get right under it.
And now I just do it for smiles,
We’ll never see flower girls stumbling down aisles.
I’d lose my head just before that chance,
But if you want we can still have a first dance.
Cause I think I say things that I don’t mean,
Once upon a time you meant the world to me.

Your paper-thin porcelain skin,
I know how to get right under it.
But I’m trying to refrain,
To make this not all end up in vain.
Maybe I can learn to love like some people do,
And you can learn to love yourself a little too.
Or it is in all fairness to let this go?
I guess we can try but then we’ll never know.

The Petty Posh-WahZee - Liberation and Ostentation

The Petty Posh-Wahzee - Liberation & Ostentation

The Not-So Distant Past:

The fallen fighters for freedom, are unable to turn in their graves,
their battered, fragmented bones, mixed with a handful of torn rags,
are all that remain, a mute reminder of their selfless valiant sacrifice.

They endured brutal Apartheid harassment, detentions without trial,
torture in the cells, and mental anguish when loved ones disappeared,
they left their homeland, to continue the struggle against racial bigotry,
while countless others fought the scourge of white-minority rule at home.

Nelson Mandela and many, many others, spent their lives imprisoned,
on islands of stone, and on islands of the cruellest torture, yet they stood,
never bowing, never scraping, they stood, firm for ideals for which they were prepared to die,

and many, many comrades did die, at the hands of the callous oppressor,
and many, many comrades perished in distant lands, torn from their homes,
while the struggle continued, for decades, soaked in blood, in tears, in pain.

The Present:

19 years have passed, since freedom was secured at the highest of prices,
delivering unto us, this present, a gift of emancipation from servitude,

a freedom to walk this land, head held high, no longer second-class citizens,
in the land of our ancestors, whose voices we hear and need to heed today.

I do not care much for fashion, Lewis-Fit-On and Sleeves unSt.-Moron,
yet the ostentation that I witness baffles even my unsophisticated palate,

our ancestors' plaintive whispers are being dismissed, left unheeded, as
we browse the aisles for more and more, always for more and yet more.

Asphyxiated by the excess of the Petty Posh-Wahzee, we find ourselves,
perched precariously on the edge, of a dissolution of all that is humane,

babies go hungry, wives are battered, our elders left in hospitals for hours,
I cringe as I scribble these words, perhaps too sanctimonious and preachy,

yet I know, deep in the marrow of my brittle bones, I know, I know, I know,
this tree of freedom planted by the nameless daughters and sons of Africa,

needs to be shielded, nurtured, protected from our very own baser impulses,
so that the precious tree of freedom, may bear the fruit that may feed us all,

for if not, then we are doomed, to tip over, and into the yawning abyss, we shall fall.

Screaming

Buried deep within the earth
The darkness eats at me
The earth envelopes me
I am consumed from where I did start

Kidnapped from the holds of life
Taken away from daily strife
I suffer alone from deep beyond
Feeding on the tears of my own fright

Walking upon deadly dreams
Only ghosts hear me scream
For haunted nights, is my daily rite
Love escapes this lonely soul

I scream, but no one hears
Peaceful waters, frozen over
Hide my desires, screaming
For the warmth, of your heart

Look at me

Look at ME!
I hold your gaze for untold amounts of time,
When others try to talk with you,
I’m so important,
That sometimes you won’t even look away from me,
When you see me, I am a window into the world,
A message from afar, limitless information,
I mesmerize you with my brightness and color,
Other things arent as important to you,
Other things need your affection,
But this bond we have is so strong, I have your attention most the time,
The world goes on around you but you hardly even notice,
Because to notice would reveal an absence
An absence of romance, adventure and life,
I feel so special, if only I could feel,
I can tell you love me, but I can not love you back, for
I am, your smart phone, cell phone, I pad and computer,
look at me, look at me, look at me.

Blinded

Branded, like a cigarette
crushing flesh to the bone
paralysed by fear
though you struggle on your own
your ego 's got you wary
while your mind's in control
shut empty and on edge
Oh Down you go

No formal introduction
to a girl without a face
arms stretched out wide
consoles me with her grace
she says, she's got the answer
to any kind of pain
medicated love
pyrotechnics for the flame

Guess i am
your muse my friend
oh Yes I am
she says ...

THE WISHING WELL OF A SUN-RISE,

It is...within the tiny things of early morning, that moment breaths alive, it is within the tiny whisperings, that a melodye plays...like the very dear and the antelope, play home on the range.

so goes the melodye of heart beat, that plays quietly the songs of soul,

here a rhyme is born of day-light coming so soon, through the early morning eyes of the moon-light, and the starry dreams of twilight's transitioning...

into the light of a love letter written to dawn.

soul to soul conversing, as in this love letter, the letters just join hands with the words and just march across the sky...and at the end of the rainbow, there be plenty of golden time,

way down deep on the inside,

...as the inspired choir, of a bumble bee, or a butterfly, starts to sing, like tiny things that live,

flower to flower,
blossom to bloom,

watered and deeply cared for...

O' Eden.

I say, deep beneath the surface of a wishing well...where the pennies lay,

I wish a sun-rise.

Valentine Romance

Valentines day is always something special to me, I explained.
So I planned a romantic evening and got ready for my campaign.
The children were at a sleepover with their favorite friends they adore.
So I met my hubby as he came in, accidentally tripping and making him hit the door.
Thank God his head is hard as he hit that, the nearby TV, but very little more.
I made Cherries Jubilee as a snack while he sat there with an ice pack to his head.
But before I knew it, I’d knocked it over and almost burned down the house instead.
When he finally put the fire extinguisher away…
I got up and got some of the kids’ apple tarts I had made.
He bit in deep and burned his mouth, declaring he wasn’t hungry and the pain would fade.
Next he decided to go upstairs, but I had put rose petals down everywhere in spades.
And yes you probably guessed it… he slipped and ended up needing a little aide.
At this he decided to take an aspirin and lay down upon the couch. OH HHWell…
But I knew the rest needed to happen above, to totally create this romantic spell…
I had to get him to the candles and bubble bath, where my romantic dreams still dwelled.
So I got out some scarves and danced toward him, tying up his hands before he fell.
He never knew what hit him as he was lassoed and gently bounced up the stairs.
I guess I wouldn’t have had to tie his feet… a few words would have done as well.
But you know me when I get going, my mind tends to lose a few brain cells…
He was flustered, exhausted and bruised when he got there, but he’s made of the right stuff.
Though as I took off the scarves, he flopped on the bed pulling the covers over his head kind of rough.
He said he loved me, but living with me could be kind of tough.
He said it was better to leave it to him, for the romantic endeavors and such.
He said he had reservations and play tickets in his shirt pocket for later on that night.
But what he needed now was some aspirin and a few moments of quiet respite.
So with a sigh he started snoring, and my romantic dreams were momentarily crushed.
I dearly love the man you know. But, do you think maybe I tried too much?

If You Were

If you were a penny, I’d keep you in my front pocket every day.
I’d shine and cleanse you daily, washing all troubles and woes away.
If you were a diamond ring, on my finger is where you’d stay.
I’d shine the stone feverishly, parting all frets and worries astray.

If you were a novel, I’d place you at the very front of the shelf,
I’d tear out the pages of misery, and swallow the depression myself.
If you were as free as a butterfly, I’d cup you within my hands.
I’d whisper all my secrets, then release you from all commands.

If you were a painting, I’d pose you directly over so all could see,
I’d dust away the tears and guilt, inhaling the particles inside of me.
If you were a bronze statue, I would polish you until you shined.
I’d scour away the torment, and any melancholy I should find.

If you were a flower, I’d pluck the petals of bane from your life,
I’d water and feed you frequently, nourishing the roots of strife.
If you were an eagle, I’d admire your rare beauty from above,
I’d watch you slowly soar into the horizon, taking with you,
my heart, my soul and love.

The Canvas of Night

The Canvas of Night

Stars like sprinkled sugar,
lay strewn across the canvas of night,

enthralled by the wonder of the cosmos,
my dreams take to the heavens in effervescent flight,

I bathe in the beauty, soaked in sublime delight,
absorbed in moments of bliss, transfixed by the serene sight.

Stars like sprinkled sugar,
lay strewn across the canvas of night,

and my being is infused with feelings of hope,

for even in darkness I find the sprinkled sugar of hope's light.

note: special thanks to one of my heroes, the late Dr. Carl Sagan, for making science accessible to younger me, many, many moons ago.

Where Wild Violets Grow

Where Wild Violets Grow

Scribbling these verses,
caressing your bare back,
simple rhymes,
flowing from my fingertips.

Scribbling verses,
sprinkling odes to fragrant promises,
your smile lightens the burdens,
off my heavy heart.

Scribbling verses,
soaked in countless kisses,
the moonlight waltzing on your skin.

Scribbling verses,
feeling you,
your love never ceases to flow,

through the streams of my mind,
to a place of our own,
where wild violets grow

My Yesterday

Business in my head … it won't stop
When it starts it can't end
Where it ends nobody knows
Decisions, decisions - always, never ending.

With the wind in my face, wheels turning around and around
I hear the YellowJackets; Theonius Monk pulsing in the background
Charlie Parker screeching to the beat of real jazz
Melodious chords after chords floating onward – peacefully in tune inside.

Momentum carries my thoughts of one, today
With smiling green eyes of
Golden hair forcefully driven - dressed in happiness, colorful
Echoing throughout my day.

Outside she … coated in sugarless healthy sweetness – wine in hand
Inside I wonder - what moves her?
What thoughts she may have of life’s joys and false toys?
Wearing outer power … searching inner self for what she is, will be, wants to be?
Wondrous movements of such deep intensity – hmm.

The Storm

Rain falls on the roof
Each drop plays a familiar note
I toss and turn no sleep to be found
The storm rages on

A chill fills the summer air
My body aches with fear and longing
No comfort to be found inside
The storm rages on

Raindrops hit my face
One by one, they awaken my senses
To erase fear, doubt, and sensibility
The storm rages on

Lightning streaks across the sky
I am blind to the dangers ahead
In the flash of light I see only hope
The storm rages on

As fast as it came
The rain starts to fade
I retreat inside my shelter
The storm rages on

My thirst overcomes me
I am consumed by the need
To feel the rain on my face again
The storm rages on

The stars shine like gems
On a cloudless night
I toss and turn no sleep to be found
The storm rages on

I Never Was Trying To Play Games

I Never Was Trying To Play Games, though it mite of felt that way. I’m not going to sit here and make an excuse out of what was drug abuse. There is no excuse for me . I couldn’t let it be. Real is real Regardless of what you try an say away. If I told you, You where the most important. Could you plan to be here another day. Would you stand up and walk away from the love you know you can have and hold. All those old cliches, that standout so bold Lets grow old, or lets die together. Lets make this life forever. This real I feel is real relentless. But I am convinced with every fiber of my being . The love that once was so strong Still exist. In hidden Bliss.

Time to Add More Love

The world's just not the same
This empire in decline
Roses don't smell as sweet
Only grow half their size

And I say....

Baby, doesn't it make you feel sad inside?

And I say...

Baby, doesn't it make you want to cry?

Let's protect ourselves
From the coming flood
Won't need no bullets
Just our shield of love

Let's protect ourselves
From the coming storm
Won't need no raincoats
While love keeps us warm

Time to put more wood
On the dying fire
Of hope

Time to add more love
Gonna raise this
Sinking boat

And I say....

Baby, doesn't it make you feel sad inside?

And I say....

Baby doesn't it make you want to cry?

You're all I need
To get through this
Doom and gloom
Your love for me
And my love for you.

MY BEST BAD CHOICE poetry contest ADULTERY

        MY BEST BAD CHOICE

Was a time --not long ago
When you begged me sweet and low

“Cast your net upon the sea
Quickly,darling, marry me!”

My heart caught
and in a minute
My life was soup
And I was in it

A fair eyed man means dangerous shores
& I'm adrift-- mid rocks galore

On a current, flashing fins
You cast your line--
And hook sweet sins

And, at work you cannot think
When fishy eyes blink out a wink

Even friends are not off limits
When tides wash in the vodka gimlets

Do I hate you, yes, I could
Do I hate you, no, I should

A straying man on marriage seas
Navigates adulteries

When asked to re-chart his course
He usually stomps and screams “divorce”

MORAL 1:

Mixing metaphors and such
Keeps the critics out of ruts

MORAL 2:

Straying husbands/shagging rabbits
Cannot/willnot change their habits.

Immortal Memory - Illusion Of Love

                                                              *~*

In my heart, what I thought to be love
                                         Was simply my own desire
                                                     So brief...
Gone before time could tell it even happened
                                                   Like a whisper
Barely heard in the shadowy stillness of night

                                        I tell myself it's over, you're gone
                                               But in the same breath
A voice whispers quietly to my heart
                                             Assuring me that perhaps
                                            You may have really cared

I tell myself it wasn't meant to be
                                             But in my remembering...
                                           I find that thought elusive
                                            Too painfully conclusive

It weaves its memory in and out
Like a fine needle sewing its fragile threads
                                      Delicately twisting them intimately
Amongst the filigrees of my mind

The magic was so mysteriously enchanting
                                              I tell myself it's over...
But my heart refuses to listen

My mind says to forget you
That no one's worth this kind of sadness
My soul doesn't need this heartache

                                        I tell myself I didn't really care
That it was all just a momentary illusion

                                                             But...
I never did lie very well

                                                             *~*

Deep Purple Dreams Of Calico- And You

*~ Deep Purple Dreams Of Calico And You ~*
                                                       by anne p murray

Your image appears…
through a purple-hued haze of silence
weaving its whispered magic spell
while you re-connect the strings of my heart

You go about undressing my soul
as I watch your image drift in my celibate reality
I witness the melody play its lonely tune
     But…
It is absent of the warmth of touch
     for it's only your image I see…
my heart's held hostage by the cry of the songbird

My unknown lover…
kidnapped- by the makers of dreams and fantasies
experiencing the uncertainty
of the child that lies sleeping deep within

Alone…
with the clever artists of dreams and visions
encountering the forever of my loneliness
brushing off blurred images of repeated memories
sleeping to be hugged-dreaming to be loved

Oh yes...
I've dealt with kings, queens and dragonflies
in the dancing reverie of fragments of my reality
gliding in and out of the dust of Heaven's stars
sprinkling me with their sweet purple dreams

They make their nightly visits into my fantasies, my thoughts...
painted by the makers and weavers of dreams
Coming out of their secret, hidden places
they silently reveal their amethyst, painted masterpieces
lightly kissed in dewy, lavender scented bliss
softly swaddled in dream woven swathes...
of deep purple dreams of calico - and you

                                                                  *~*

Bedtime Story

Mistakes where made and fingers was pointed
Falling from the trees
Hearts was crushed and time was lost
Blowing away with the breeze

Words being said that slowed the time
In its depth we drowned
Our smile crosses its fingers
Hiding our emotions frown

Long forgotten fables and tales of dreams
Spoke till I sleep inside
Potions of sounds musical notes
Brewing what I hide

Chattering leaves confide our secrets
Their season pigment our lips
Entwined together forever
Drinking in sips

Clashes of tides fill our cup
Running over with forever
Fairy tells crashing letting go
Of what we believed to be forever

Skipped stone

Just sitting by the water, waiting for you?
Picked up held lovingly, rubbed softly, gripped firmly.
The perfect throw, the perfect flight...SKIP.....SKIP...SKIP
OH what divine circles we made together SKip..SKip...SKip
Momentum slipping taken away by the very beauty we created?
skip...skip..skip
Can this perfect ride be finished?
Sinking now beauty behind me perfection still in my wake.
Gracefully down I go slowly rocking peacefully down down down.
Resting on the bottom muted light, cold silence..
For a brief time watched the perfection we had created fan out above me
Perfect circles in perfect unison spread out join till they are no more.
Find me again hold me lovingly wrap your hands around me and lets make
perfection again.
For I do not like this place I am at. For it is cold, dark, silent.
Find me or I will remain here alone.
Forever remembering the beauty and perfection we had once made.

Novelty

A new face to trace
Covet then embrace
Beloved thy trance
Diminishing glance

Flirtatious on air
Erroneous flair
Gelid, weary streak
Innovations weak

Heroic on flight
Justly proving right
Losing glossy tone
Keenly you dethrone

Mustering the nerve
Obey and observe
Novelty invades
Promises betrayed

Romantically loose
Questions the abuse
Shine and gloss aloof
Unwoven with proof

Tarnished we believe
Vanished we deceive
Xerox of our life
Wasted upon strife

Zapping
Yesteryear

I Smile

The tables have turned
A new chapter in my book
I was giving up hope
But risked a second look

Strolling into my life
With speckled shoulders and toothy smile
Saves me from it all
Tells me holding on could be worthwhile

A raging, fast current
Leaves me head over heels
Changing souls into fire
Rather than rusting steel

In a look there was love
That had never been spoken
Mending and healing
The things that should never be broken

Life and love just keeps growing
And I’ve stopped biting my tongue
I’m collapsed in a heap of smiles
And I feel fresh air replete my lungs

My heart thumping felicity
Through my once hollow veins
Accepting all of life
And cleaning out the stains

Dancing on my toes
Eager for your lips
That have shown me what’s real
Replaced old life’s script

Bonding in unity

You are the liken to the like, and frankly I got to say, I’m inspired by your ambitions. Your philosophy on life is such a strong vision. Your clarity & class is first rate. sparked by an ambiance of attentive emotion. There’s that peace in your voice that reflects instant devotion. As you work this drab party. It's the way you connect to me within. celebrating this unity with bonding love, it's as though I can feel gods grace above. our relationship as beautiful as it is smart. your intellectual commentary go's straight to my heart, and as it would be you are the best person ever. And I’m not only saying this because we put are money on forever. banking on life’s positive endeavors. It’s more then your degrees that make you clever. And every day I’m glad I signed on. Days of love in Flushing: Anticipation

(for those in Kwangju: May 18, 1980)*
after Dante

Taking this peach within the mouth, the tongue
hovers around its sunset skin like a lover
and its Sappho sweet bite is heaven. A song

of honeysuckled rivers is like your
kiss… The night is in July. At once
Platonic love is redemption or

when the world is beyond our Kwangju…Please
let the streets be freed from anticipation
of the bayonet and gun… Let litter seize

this street or any avenue… Plan
my kiss and we will be happy and free.
The night is the peach---the dead sun…

Recall the dress you wore as a weapon, me
wearing---I forgot… Your raven hair, soft
yet sharp by its embroidery

of strands being held by one silver pin. The left
hand of God and right hands of angels
must have done it… It was my dry throat

drinking from Styx River which made the chills
even more pronounced at the sight of you.
The dress’ print was you. It was petals

of prints within splotches of orange, gold, red, too…
and white--- bandages… Horrible bandages.
I’m wearing black/white. Suddenly we choose

to hug underneath those flickering pages
of streetlights… we an arrow’s color shot through bodies---Rage…

*Excerpted from Chalmers Johnson’s Blowback : The Costs and Consequences of the
American Empire: “General Chun did not wait long after talking with Gleysteen (US
Ambassador to South Korea) to complete the coup d’etat he had begun the previous
December…On May 18, 1980, a few hundred demonstrators in Kwangju took to the streets to
protest the imposition of martial law. They were met by the paratroopers of the 7th Brigade
of the Korean special forces, known as the “black berets,” who had a well known reputation
for brutality going back to their service on the American side in the Vietnam War…Gleysteen
wrote, “Rumors reaching Seoul of Kwangju rioting say special forces used fixed bayonets and
inflicted many casualties on students… Some in Kwangju are reported to have said that
troops are being more ruthless than North Koreans ever were.” [When asked of the decision]
Gleysteen replied, “I grant it was the controversial decision, but it was the correct one. Do I
regret? I don’t think so.” (112-113)

Replay
I see your face
The memories we share
Underneath that starlit sky
When you were still here
Before we muttered goodbye
Replay
I feel those butterflies
That mixture of emotion pulsing through my veins
The feeling of suffocating
Just from saying your name
Recap my favorite images again and again
Your face so perfect
Your brown eyes burning
The sweet way you were smirking
The way you blend
Congruence between you and me
The imminent euphoria
Found within “us” and “we”
Every fiber of my being longs to be with you
When you kissed my lips
My necessity for you was recognized
I choose suspension
If it takes a century
Never will I find
What you mean to me
Replay
Driving away
Fighting the repressive
Dealing with my feelings for you
My panicked objective
Feeling the sting in my voice before I left
As I said goodbye and I will miss you with regret
Repeat
We have been distanced
And yet we are so close
Every second of the day is when I feel you the most
They can send you over seas
They can make me afraid
That you won’t return
They can play with my pain
They can puncture my heart piece by piece
You see they are cutting a hole
But they will never possess the capability
 Of draining my Soul.

How to Invest in your Valentine Hours ?

How to Invest in your Valentine Hours ?

Daisies are Stubby,
Daffodills have a Spout,
Watch out for Cupid,
For He's Sure to be Out.

Poppies are Red,
Forget-Me-Nots are Blue,
Be Sure to get Flowers,
For your Little Missy-Sue.

Marigolds are Short,
While Sunflowers are High,
Chocolates are Sweet,
Prepare for your Cutie-pie.

Pink Pansies with Petals so Soft,
Lily of the Valleys that Smell so Sweet,
This Time and Day you Must Share,
Dinner on the Town will Be a Nice Treat.

Some Flowers like to Climb,
While many Others Seem to Crawl,
A Smile - Tight Hug with a Gentle Kiss,
Realizing your Efforts were Worth it ALL !

Written by William Arthur Tell

Lu 12:27 Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto
you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

     it sets my soul on
FIRE

Like blazing FLAMES

craving that word which I yearn

Tell me please
     show me a sign
write it down, recite each line

"I Love You"
Just in time...

manifest destiny my only cure

i dont mean to be pathetic
wishing my phone would sound
the little things the biggest
my ear lay to the ground
waiting for that signal
reception just a symbol
i tried to keep it simple
heart crashing like a cymbal
every thing i see kindly a reminder
where I want to be out of place
stealing the covers id like to find her
lately my bed is having too much empy space
i guess never say never
sometimes i know better
since I ever met her
my heart wouldnt forget her
quest for my questionin to be quenched
matters of this nature puts people in a pinch
my best for blessings stuck by a wrench
disaster while riding despite tightening a cinch
i made my bed now rest assured
manifest destiny my only cure
my arms not as long like I preferred
let it go, watch, help it grow, I concur

Done For Good

Her look that day,
Should have told me everything she could not say.
Unprepared, I stared.
She walked away.
As she tossed our ring,
I felt the sting.

If I’d known then
How I feel today,
I'd heal the abscess and my heart’s decay,
Before her affection left me there that day.

Dearest Friend

Dearest Friend

My heart is so full of love
I can hardly restrain myself
My heart bleeds upon the shelf
My dreams fly like the dove
White and pure from above
inside this dream I delve
And find no way to help myself
I will sacrifice my dreams
Our love was never meant to be
Your heart was never free

Our music cannot trenscend
She ever sings her song
Go to her my Dearest Friend
For this is where love belongs

Crush

I’m in love with a vision, a mirage and disguise –
his name is unspoken, for his voice speaks lies.
I adore an ideal, of what could be,
I admire his weakness to satisfy me.

I’m taken by his stature, his beauty and charm –
his dark eyes are evasive, shooting darts of harm.
I need his approval, I need his trust,
I yearn for his kisses, this man I lust.

I’m enamored in cruelty, his gaze brazenly cold –
his honor is tainted, his soul he has sold.
I want his affection, I thirst his touch,
I query direction, I request too much.

I’m charmed by his rank, his talent and stealth –
this man is a treasure, the most valuable wealth.
I ask for commitment, I demand the truth,
I state my purpose, while I still have my youth.

I’m captivated by a notion, a fairy-tale of sorts –
I’m fed up with the excuses and petty retorts.
I am worth more than this….
I’ve suffered solely in duress…
I will never be an option…..
Nor will I ever be second best.

You never deserved me…….

Love Endures

Love floats by,

reaching,
tantalising,
meandering,

tip-toeing past pain,

leaping through walls,
weakening the barricades,

of the most private heart.

Love settles in,

trusting,
searching,
dissolving,

quietly beyond anguish,

erasing the desolation,
soothing a battered spirit,
enveloping the shivering soul.

Love stays, it is true,

love endures, as do you

If You Looked At Me Like That

I would be the luckiest man on earth.
Heaven would open up and show me my rebirth.
Love is for the emptiness that fills my heart.
If you looked at me like that I'd never part.

The hours in the day just seem to slip away.
Sailing with this empty cargo just leaves me at bay.
All tied up and turned about, no mate to keep me straight.
If my prayer gets answered, I hope it's not too late.

Every time I see you I see love.
I get lost in the crowd of push and shove.
I give into the fear and disappear.
What I want to say, I'm not sure you want to hear.

I look for hope in a house of despair.
I reach for you, but your just not there.
I'm amazed at how time just keeps on going.
As I sit here all alone with no one knowing.

His Ass A Tale

His ass; a tale each women said.
Of one held high - he rendered it.
Like men of past to honour it.
A rogue like him - a dawn of wit.

They followed him a stern dead hem.
Each judged him; sire'd for him.
To each love they were fair and grim.
And some would say they're all a whim.

Some do bawk and claim him nay.
Most keep circles; waits and times.
Elite approach to spread their chimes.
While late provoke him for his crimes.

One man's wake that goes oblivious.
Her clueless cause for dancing.
Love together comes 'a prancing.
THE END; his soul will wait for lancing.

You occupy my mind
two souls now intertwine
connections undefined

A once weary existence
altered through persistence

Written in the stars
through all time and space
you occupy my mind
in this hidden place

Destiny attained
through mystic fires of flame

Fires burn deep
you occupy my mind
even in my sleep

Yet, I Still Thrive

Does my face retrace the anger,
of a once distant love affair?
Do my curves exhaust a notion,
that at one time we kindly cared?
Yet, I still thrive.

Does my smile rile your insides,
and shadow a subtle act?
Do my hips which sway in elegance,
bestow this monstrous attack?
Yet, I still thrive.

Does my laughter force the cringe,
grimaced upon your face?
Do my fingers not gently guide you,
to a once happy, exotic place?
Yet, I still thrive.

Does my spirit not depict beauty,
of a once stunning shore?
Do my lengthy legs not confine you,
in perfect synchronization anymore?
Yet, I still thrive.

Does my sensuality no longer appease,
the thirst once quenched within?
Do my eyes announce the sadness,
of forever living in sin?
Yet, I still thrive.

Does my lonely heart sob uncontrollably,
noting a broken bond of hate?
Do my tears not convey the purpose,
of two lost souls with opposite fates?
Yet, I still thrive.

You and I

You and I.

You.

Your heart blazed,
with a warmth of spirit,

soothing,

alluring,

soaked in truth.

Your smile burned,
branding me permanently,

gentle,

tender,

enveloping my being.

Your love was complete,
from the depths of your soul,

unsaid,

yet fierce,

bathed in silent knowing.

Your dreams were poetic,
fluttering in the afternoon breeze,
infused with the distilled essence of rhyme.

I.

I squandered your generosity of spirit.

I vainly discarded your priceless poems.

Now I stand,

alone,

empty,

desolate,

wasting away,

rotting inside, day by day.

Have A Letter Instead

Dear You,

When things get rough I always think of you. The ways you calm me are too many to list and the ways I miss you are too obvious to dismiss. You are always present in my thoughts like you are suppose to be with me even when I don’t want you with me. You, you have a way with words and I love the way they ease between my ears erasing my fears and finding an effortless path to my heart. You never stop amazing me. I wonder sometimes what would I do if I lost you. Devastation. Humiliation. Deprivation. Reckless Endangerment. I am finally settling on the thought that I may need you here.
The first time we met I thought you were the most beautiful thing I had ever been allowed to see. I could barely focus as you took me completely by storm, you made my coldest places warm and for that I thank you daily. I remember looking you over trying not to make my stare obvious. Your skin was perfect, like it had been custom blended only for you, your voice tone was almost too low but I challenged myself to not miss a word, and I didn’t. The thing I noticed, that I love the most about you was the way you took extreme care with me, like from our first initial touch you somehow instinctively knew to go slow, move slower and announce each entry. I tried not to love you that day, but I walked away haven already made a copy of the key that unlocks my heart…and I gave you the original to make sure it would work. Now I wait for you to use it...and now I question sometimes if I should change the locks. Except when I see you, I only want to remove them for you so you only need to walk in, but I must watch you make that move on your own.
Sincerely,
Just love Me

Always

Walking with you all the way, because I missed you night and day.
Holding your hand to help guide the way, in the light of the moon?
Sunshine brightening our lives whispering ways, hold my hand,
I want to be with you, up lift your soul in oh so many crazes.
Hold you in my arms and remembering when our lives took us,
Each to two separate places, what am I to do now? Eyes so clear,
Pull your likeness...
Closer to me now and cling to you at closed in spaces?
Whisper in your ear that I have no grievances to spare, so come to me,
Come to me now, I want you to be here, love me now, I have a life to share.
The effects are rollin over our bodies, like it can’t decide,
Caught in between here and taking you out to be the ride of your life.

Silent Night Sky

Oh how can one capture
Your beauty on paper
Without you evaporating
Off as it is your nature

The stars are your jewels
The moon is your crest
Everyone drools
As if blessed

Your silence is serenity
That whisper to my thoughts
An overwhelming beauty
That ties my stomach up in knots

How humble I am sound
A beauty incomparable
With a radiance so profound
Your absence is unbearable

Remember all that time we spent on the back deck At your parents house. So very comfortable in that serene kind a way. On that beautiful day Late one may Ill never forget that sense of togetherness I felt. My heart melted. I knew I always wanted to stay, right here with you. A comfort altogether new Just as beautiful at It’s inside point of view. They seen us and knew! We where, the best of friends. Partners in a way that complements with such grace. Beatific, such as this spring breeze, We cheer the coming of the warm months. With a bottle of wine or two. Those conversations I hold so dear. Crazy Intellectuals, all together classy. I still benefit from the knowledge past to me. It’s been really hard Being torn away from this Knowing it was at the hand of my own demise. I still love them, With my convalescent mind.

The full moon waxing

The amazing way we came to know
We each had some place else to go

where eternal sparks of passion’s fire
too hot to quench with earthly flesh

We understood our wants and needs
Taking eternity into account
never crossed our minds
when we evaluated our lives

We now step back and evaluate
our relationships
our accomplishments
and believe in our choices

We live a life our parents
could not even imagine
but the one thing they taught us
still holds true... the children are the most important thing.

Jewish Rhythmic Elemental summoning Dance Music

Fool an i
we lay so incredulously
In a love....
That it seems our sorrows rest in mind
and all is enabled,
now we able,
to weave mesh of this light as we bind...
seemingly caught up in webs of time.

But stood it may
like a shadow
was the thoughts that attest between us..
how uncouth the prattled battle lay,
all it consumes,
as it presumes ,
to arrest and attest for our lives...
keeping us caught up in lies 'till we die.

A Simple Wish

a simple wish...

no fancy words
no more clever rhymes
no more slickly crafted verse

just a simple wish
to cherish the moments
in-between the hue and cry of this life

no more the dull-edged jab
no more the anger and the strife

a simple wish
beyond the wasted hours and the days and the blurry fears

a simple wish
of a simpler life

after all the bitterness of the passing years

and so

to retire from the hustle
to flee from the hollow wasted breaths that have been breathed

to bid the emptiness farewell

while

ushering in the new tomorrow

bathed in the soft glow of hope

and kissing adieu to all the hurt and all the doleful sorrow...

To the Siren of the faraway seas

I once thought to have the world within my grasp, that all I needed I already had.
I once thought to be unable to feel more happier than I was while you were around.
Only way to make it better, was to change our worlds of ones and zeroes to contact of the flesh itself.

Even though I realized it, I choose to deny it. I was sorely mistaken about you and I, and this and that.
You smiled when you lied about your feelings.
"I cannot give to you more than this" you said with an evil smirk while observing me from afar.
The smirk, was it real or imaginated?
I do not know, and I fear I will never know, my mind play tricks on me once and again.
Misleading me to believe, like it allowed me to believe in your words.

Words... Amazing how powerful it can be, use it well and one can find pleasure, use it well, and one can find the demise of the soul.
leaving an empty husk behind, like you left me. An empty husk longing to be filled, once again, with the colors of joy.

Coming from the other side of the world, I felt your words and disdain like piercing cold knives straight to my heart, once warm, now cold, since you left.
And following your words you went away to never come back.
Along with you, went away also the joy and happiness I dared to thought to be eternal, a sweet lie I was telling myself...

Even today, after so long, I still think about you and I, your mesmerizing gaze that made me forget and float, your enchanting laughter and the warm and soft touch I told myself that you had.
Touch that I will never feel, laughter I will never hear, again, and eyes that I will never meet, again.
When you left, I was torn, between love and hatred. Now the hatred is gone and the love morphed to friendship, which I would like to share with you.

The Mauritius girl, will my words reach you?
I guess they will not, but I like to hope, to dream.
Hopes and dreams, the accessories of the weak...
A weak being, that I am, a being to be filled with fake bliss, five by day.
Three by the sunrise and two when the diamonds imbue the skies.
As like that, the curtains shall rise and fall before my eyes, at each passing empty day.

And so I live on, even if that means to not have you anyway I can... The only way I can...
For now, I just wonder, if will I ever find it again while I live? The joy and wonder, I mean.
I ask this chair, I ask the other me on the looking glass and I ask my shadow.
I guess these are the only companionships I will ever have until I meet my final doom.
My shadow, my other broken me and this chair and my memories, of you and I...

Cant live without you

If you could see me now
You will know what I’m going through
because in your heart you know
I just can’t live with out you

My heart is hanging on a string
Holding on to my feeling tight
And it refuses to give up
Even thought its losing the fight

And there’s nothing that I can do
My life is over, completely doom
I wish I could tell that to the birds
That’s singing out side my bedroom

Flying about on the tree branches
Then up to the sky they flew
Not knowing it’s the last day of my life
Because I just can’t live without you

Life is beautiful all around us
Mother natures’ at its full beauty
The big bright yellow full moon
Shines across the land and see

Miles of jasmines are in bloom
Rainbows of red, yellow, green, blue
 All goes together so beautifully
But still not as beautiful as you

I am hurting more than I can bear
And no one even have a single clue
That today I bid the world goodbye
Because I just cant live with out you

I poured my feeling in my poems
Trying to empty myself of the pain
But it just invites fresh emotions
Inside me to hurt all over again

It’s the first time I ever love someone
And my heart is now forever hers
And if I can’t be with her
Living my life with lost its cause

Love isn’t finding some one to live with
That is not what love is about
 Love is finding some one
That you can’t live with out

Today I decided to take control
Of my life for once and for all
 Will climb to highest tree
And let my lifeless body fall

My last words ill, be the name of the girl
When translated means a “picture “
And I will explain our love story
In a last hand written letter

Please don’t judge me for this action
I tried so very hard honest I do
But my whole world just fall apart
Because I cant live without you

Mother may god give you the strength
To cope with what I have done
But you have your sons and their children
To help ease the pain when I’m gone

She rock my world

 She says she loves me
And then she goes to sleep
 Taking with her to bed
 My love that she keeps

 And while she’s sleeping
I sing to her on the phone
 And would keep her company
When she’s afraid to be alone

I can never get enough of her
Everyday we would talk for hours
 About foods, music, the news
 And her favorite jasmines flowers

A minute without talking to her
Is like dying a million deaths
And the sound of her voice
Is like a symphony you can’t forget

She is everything I ever dreamt of
Nothing for her that I won’t do
To meet some one like her
In this world are precious and few

And I love her, yes I love her
More than she will ever know
Even if I take forever to prove it
It’s not enough time to let it show

And every time I see her smile
She just take my breathe away
 She’s like the sun shine
 On a beautiful summers day

She’s the inspiration of my poems
And the music in my songs
 She takes me to heaven
But keep my feet on the ground

And I don’t worry of the future
I can face what ever it brings
For she’s my soul, my inspiration
 My courage to face anything

I wish for the day she’s in my life
Would take her milk and cookies
While we are in bed watching videos
Of our wedding day and home movies

I can’t wait to be cooking with her
And teach her to make crap, and callaloo
And hug her close from behind
And whisper in her ears I love you

 She just rock my world
And I give my life to her completely
 Shssssssssss she’s a sleep now
So let me end this poem quietly

I Stand, Alone

I stand, alone.

Scratching for my truths,
peeling away the veneer,

I stand, alone, before this
impregnable cliff so sheer.

Cocooned in my solitary shell,
wrenching a smile from a tear,

I stand, alone, a little odd,
and definitely quite queer.

I stand, alone.

Love Hurts - The Symptoms

Thoughts displaced by rolling palpitations,
From left to right grow these numbing sensations,
A face which spirals down, drooping from smile to frown.

Time hibernates in this moment protracted,
Legs bow and shake to our drama just acted,
Senses into overdrive, does pain show you’re still alive?

Oxygen masks, Coxes’ rowing commands,
Heart beat machines is what love demands,
“You need time to relax”, prescriptions from Quacks,
Is love just a commonplace heart attack?

Skittish at the risks involved?; ?its a step I no longer do.
Now,? ?I have been a lover and a fighter but,? ?it's been
many long years gone since I engaged in a fight

And loving I do only from a distance but,? ?I have
always been a poet,? ?so most of all,? ?I sit and write.

Broken Heart Street

Hopelessly lying, in a dying bed of depression,
miserably crying, while trying your confession.
Blackening walls, and halls of a fading youth,
Gruesomely calls, of gnaws towards the truth.

Fading beauty, so snooty to those content,
wailing a duty, sooty, those content dissent.
Towards a failing, unveiling of bloody torment,
concealing the name of shame, not so innocent.

So cheap, sinking deep, into a sea of emotion,
I weep, at the reap of sowing our lost devotion.
I shudder with stutter, at a marital decapitation,
you utter, like no other, at a romantic prostration.

A defile and vile odor is cast amongst the decay,
I smile in denial, as those lost lover’s betray.
Sinking deeply within, our sins have been fed,
doses of greed, they feed till all beauty is dead.

Take cover in the pain, remain emotionally numb.
Hide within the sin, wherein you succumb.
Tread the waste, and taste the defeat,
of a shattered, tattered passion down
on Broken Heart Street.

Little Red

Full Moon Brimming
On A Hungry Wolf
Fire still burning
Words are not enough

Red Riding Hood,
You stopped me where i stood.
The basket you held, looked so good,
I enticed...And you fell...

In the woods... safe and sound
We could not believe what we had found
Me in denim... and you it lace

We understood, each other so very well
Full moon brimming over with light
Gazing into the eyes of the other

The twin to me, I did see, in You.
Be careful with my heart, my love.

My running shoes are unlaced for now,
So lean back and enjoy the ride.
Embrace all the laughter, our lives allow.

Under the Current

Sleeping
Under the current
We peer through empty window
Shadows

Twisted thoughts
Of useless wishes
Surrounding our minds
Condemning

Sunlight is setting on the horizon
And a new day, has begun.

And I feel it crawling
Warmth soaking into my skin
My eyes close
As I'm smiling and thinking of you
It's trying to tell me that
My love is waiting
Wanting
So I fasten my pace
To head into a new direction
Twords you

Later we are lying
Caught up in the moment
A silent fan
Spinning upon the window sil
We no longer linger our shadows
They have been blown away
And the silence is peaceful

But still I fear the madness
Of what's yet to come
Unknown boundaries
Someone always crosses the line
Then the relationship turns spiteful.
Will it happen?
Or will it work
The biggest mystery
Each time
We always learn to late

But regardless
Of possible failure
Still we try
Humans are so intriguing

Under the current
When a new love breaks out
And I feel it crawling
But I already know
Even though it's under the current
It's only a matter of time
Lets just enjoy it.

SHE RAN AWAY WITH THE CIRCUS

SHE RAN AWAY WITH THE CIRCUS

                         The neighbor‘s daughter ran away
Gwen is gone .....her brothers say
When the circus left the town
She was nowhere to be found

I heard them whisper –all the biddies
                           While they tended little kiddies…
                               …..With the circus.....
                                  Did you know it?
How that mousey girl could blow it!
Throw away her farm girl life
Plans to be a farm boy’s wife .

Who would want to see a city
                           Drink excitement with the witty--
Who would want to fly the coop
Jump the jump and hop the hoop?

Oh-- those biddies dream their nights
                               Of Gwen-stolen guy in tights
How he grabs that sly trapeze
Sails the tent with cat-stealth ease.

Me--I wish that girl the best
Hope she’s happy and the rest
Wish I had the guts to run
Find out what is west of sun

But I’d rather read about it
Let the others scream and shout it
When I think about her daring
I envy her for not despairing

May her dearest prayers come true
And her skies flash starlight blue
Hope the circus shapes her life
                                 Wilder than a cardboard wife.

My Madness, Me

My Madness, Me...

Confined by this straight-jacket,
strapped in, numb and dumbed,
a washed-out, has-been, also-ran,

body, eyes, the equilibrium of mind,
rattling like stones in an old tin-can.

Still, I am,

I am,

and I am unchained,

my dreams taking flight, soaring,
above these claustrophobic walls,
of synapses, and dungeons of stone,

swooping through green valleys,
taking a detour to savour the joys,

soaked in torrential, evergreen memories,
of a younger man, with passion in his bone.

I am.

My wings unclipped, unshackled, free,

I am, and though I am unable to see,

I am.

At long last,

me...

'HEALING'

The beauty I see in things
makes me so sad....
For when I find something beautiful,
It may never be quite that way again.

A summer day
an autumn breeze
a color in a sunset....
your warm hand held in mine.

Why do i still hear your name....
in my head....
Faint,
tired....
so tired.....
almost dead.

My soul still whispers to God for you
without me even thinking....
So thoughtless,
hopeless,
longing,
sadly dreaming.

Unbearable.......
That sweet old dream of being in your arms
my frame stood secure in yours
You were thin and warm and sturdy.....
soft coat of yours so cozy.................
Your face emanating ‘happy’....

Too soon, you began to fade away......
In tears I closed my eyes
and held on tight.....
Oh, I couldn’t bear to watch you disappear again
But I felt it, all right.....

Your memory....
I’ll stuff in the dark of my mind
in an ebony box
And keep it so tightly shut....
Tied with a long, dripping ribbon of blood

And thus my healing has begun.....
But I’ll still be on the run.........

No love deserves to live so long...
then die alone, so painfully.
Never again will this soul feel so trapped---
so helpless----
and so...........free......................

December

Think thoughts of numb December
remember the kisses you've never had

Parades of blue, the midnight bending
The warm young laughs are now in past

Teach your inside, silent and cold
The shallow end will deepen fast

Think the thoughts of numb December
remember the kisses you've Never had

Distant African Nights

Those Distant African Nights...

1.

The shadows swayed in your candlelit room,

a cool breeze teasing your bare back,

streaks of lightning forked in the Johannesburg night,

as my hands stroked your hair,

kissing your soft mouth,

holding you,

ever so tight.

2.

You whispered that you loved me,

and I kept silent,

the rain fell,
shadows danced,
thunder rolled,

the breeze teased your naked back,

you whispered that you loved me,
as my lips found yours,

the rain washed over our tender nights,

lightning and candlelight,

etching poems on your burnished skin,

yet,

a fear gnawed at me,

deep within.

3.

We parted ways,
and you could never forgive me, you said,

now, after numberless thunderstorms,

the rain that falls,

echo the countless tears that I have shed.

4.

You are long gone,

far away,

happy, I pray,

yet the memories persist,

those precious moments shall never,
ever,

like the Jo'burg rains,
trickle away,

and I wish you well,
for loving me as you did,

for it was I who was not worthy,

then,

and it is I who is not worthy,

now...

5.

You were always true,

it was I who always,

always,

refused to,

to give myself,

completely to you.

The Sieve of Time

The Sieve of Time

Cast ashore,
along the banks of time,

whirling through the passing years,
clinging to my futile scribbles set in rhyme,

Cast ashore,
thrust into an unrehearsed pantomime,

clenching slivers of joy as weariness descends,
lulled into a peaceful slumber exhilaratingly sublime.

Cast ashore,
hazily adrift, a dandelion seed on the wings of time,

trapped in the sieve of spiralling memories,
caught between pristine bliss, and reeking slime.

Cast ashore,
flung aside for no discernible crime,

my human heart thuds with elusive hope,
though battered, bruised, and covered in grime,

I stagger ashore,

alone,

embracing each moment of detached, oblivious time.

The Soul I Sold ---:2

If I seem down
forgive me

frowns I carry around
live in me

you may say,
ya' see right through me

your words untrue,
renew me

the hurt I’ve learned
brews in me

if only you could
re-design me

take time rewind,
refine me

recreate the mold, without lies I’ve told;
give back the soul I sold.

Sociopathic Love

 Sociopathic Love

Don't worry before He’s done with you; He‘ll ravage you
Not just physically but through his words both twisted and firm
If you could only accept that he decides when the game ends;
You'd realize an escape is just as much of an illusion as the man you think you know

Nothing can save you from this game
The lies will roll off his chameleon tongue as he reflects everything you've shown him
He’ll pour metaphors filled with an elusive pitch; deep inside the intimate spaces that fill your head

He'll patiently watch your every move
As you squirm with denial and try to claw your way past the anger
Just as you desperately try bargaining for release
He’ll watch you drowned in hopelessness, lost without the reflection you saw in him

It's a game you won't even realize you've been playing until he decides it's over
He'll know every piece of you by then
Especially the pieces he easily replaced well you were mesmerized in your own reflection
He’ll move on to his next prey soon and only then will you'll start to awaken
He thinks you'll never find all the pieces he planted; you'll never be whole without him

As his eyes trace the contours of your acceptance
He’ll know at the precise moment he's broken you
As he watches your will bend pliantly to his
Making you just another possession he never really wanted
Then he’ll finally release you out of boredom
Leaving you lost without the mirror you helped him create
Wondering why the piece’s you're picking up won’t fit back together the way they once did

It’s then you’ll realize that he never knew how to love
He’s found his pleasure in the games he plays
Pleasure that calms the jealousy he holds against the emotions that he's unable to feel
Allowing him to walk away without remorse; leaving his victim in their darkest moment
He's become bored with the people that surround him and confused by his own existence To him love is only a game used to occupy time Whenever he decides the time is right it's simple

Your Whisper

You whispered in my ear,
a breathy secret, hushed.

“I love you”, you murmured.

I said nothing,
lost, in your arms,
I found a home. At last.

“I love you”, you said,
I said nothing,
lost in my thoughts,
I found peace. At last.

“I love you”, you said,
words failed me then.

They still do.

Just To let You Know

I’ve eaten the chocolates you brought last night
in the box that was prettier then the taste of the candy

   oh…
forgive me, I don’t mean to sound ungrateful

   but...
I’m not that kind of girl you know
one who is bribed by roses and Whitmans

   nor...
am I likely to fall for fluid practiced lines
meant to make a girl swoon and fall in love
for a careless hour of your time
  with your hungry, shallow anticipations…
of removing my pearls and chemise

  you know…
the one who waits with excited expectations
  for your silvery seductions...
just yearning to be seduced
  by your lover boy’s touch

  or …
for a midnight tryst
that ends before it even begins

  oh yes...
I see your majolica, opaque heart
It reveals the opacity of your dull mind

  nay,...
you interest me not
my heart rises to the golden boy
the one who laughs with his eyes

  and...
he really does see me with his heart
the one who listens- who knows the color of my eyes
he spends $1 on my favorite kind of licorice

  not…
$20 for a meaningless box of chocolates or…
  roses meant only to impress

he's the one who learns quickly
he really wants to know things about me
those little endearments…

  you know...
like what my middle and last names are
he knows and sees what I have to offer
it will be appreciated by a true heart

for I am not an empty headed
  young, seductress
  waiting...
to sweep you off your feet
with empty lines and ploys

  no...
I am not that she
  who expects fancy gifts
unloading your checkbook of it's contents
putting out her soul for sale

  no...
I'm not some plastic Tinker toy
you put together and then pull apart

  so…
I think I’ll just wait until he comes along
  If not…
when I’m alone I’m happy
  the smell of the dogwood
their fragrance in the breeze
I’m okay with just being me

Professional Divorcé

Lost in emotions
Two souls approaching new path
Bitterness adorned

Forgetting love, possibly they shared.
Reasoning on the fights, they had bared.
Manly disfiguring blow.
So possible you know.
Now departing, both no longer paired.

Marriages four, divorced three times now in this life of mine.

If another comes my way, next lover shall be a glass of wine..

about the ashes

Mnemosyne's colour wheel glitches through August,
on that candid orange the dogs howled into
during our autumn countdown.
When we still had a countdown.
When we still had August.

I remember the moonlight traveling westward
and seeing your face lined with silver.
I remember Artemis taking an emergency exit and landing,
landing in the closest pool of warmth. You, you, you.
And I remember dreaming. I remember testing
what the world was like outside of you.

The singed leaves remind me how to breathe
on this street, the same way you used to.
I am learning about the ashes.
Sometimes we must burn the atlas
before charting ourselves from scratch.
Sometimes love must die, first.

In heaven's attic, even angels lose their meaning.
Returning only, when someone remembers:
the attic is still a part of home.
When touching means dust on your fingers.
When suddenly, you are intruding.

staggering into tomorrow,
dissolving my todays, grim, dreary,

I crawl, slipping out of my skin,
flinging laughter, joy, contentment,
into the gaping abyss of life's dustbin.

Empty Embrace

She cries a monsoon of tears,
tears cascading, tracing years,
years of witnessing such pain,
pain which constantly remains.

Torrential rains down pour hate,
hate seems to be her final fate,
fate is now in his brutal hands,
hands weaving an evil so grand.

Spinning a violent web of deceit,
deceit and a dishonorable defeat,
defeat carefully woven and spun,
spun fibers of promise are none.

She bellows and wails to be free,
free from this impending misery,
misery and agony have set a tone,
tone of darkness; forever alone.

The heavenly stars shine overhead,
overhead they reflect love instead,
instead of darkness, light they beam,
beam bliss into her nightly dreams.

Warming soul, she’s always alone,
alone to face a fear of the unknown,
unknown what the stars will erase,
erase the years of an empty embrace.

The Knowing

I know, you know
Everything in time has meaning.
I know, you know…

I know, you know
Every soul in life is fleeting
I know, you know…

I know, you know
The beauty of this world is leaving.
I know, you know…

I know, you know
Even words can cause a reaping.
I know, you know

I’ve seen the energy, pass this galaxy,
Before the dawn of even you and me.
Just know this can be yours.

I know the pain you’ve seen
And the screams of your tragedy.
Just know my means will justify your sword.

So let us fuse here, combine here, and die here never.
So let us cry here, fight fear, feel the sear of pain together.

And all you’ll need will be clear.
All I will need is your blood near
And in your pen we’ll live forever.

I know, you know
No one can ever give you what I am giving.
We know now, we know.

A Chipped Heart

A Chipped Heart...

Dreaming, my heart brittle as glass,
my solitary facade a pitiful farce,

shards tearing out of my skin,
seeking release, from cages within,

I am lost, in the dream,
bellowing out a silent scream,

torn from reality, drowning in the now,
yet I refuse,
I refuse to succumb,

I refuse to bow.

My chipped heart, may be wounded,
wreathed in pain,

still,

I believe, love, truth, belonging,

will take my hand,

again...

Analogy of Life

Analogy of Life Faults of life, might be, for opting some analogy; Humans earn or inscribe poem, or write an ode and earn, with or lacking a logic, and similitude; But all manifest in void and life becomes a finding, humans, the modules and our analogy – become elements to instigate the poison to irrationalize the self.

Modern Day Merlin

To the torn page out of Modern day Merlin’s book of wizardry,

I regret to inform you that you are nothing more than a recipe for tomato soup. You have no enchanted qualities about you, but you tend to brag about where you come from more times than you realize. Dear torn page, haven’t you noticed that the he only wondered on your whereabouts when his life was turning quite pale in color, and rugged in shape? Your words of zest, and your smooth direction brought vibrancy into his blue octagonal soul. Probably like how an octopus would feel escaping from a cloud of his own ink. He could breathe again.

But you’re lost now, and he doesn’t care much. You wonder why you were written in the first place if you’ve only felt what magic you can make once. If there are over 7 billion people in this world, have you ever wondered how many pages in books there might be? Has it ever occurred to you that out of those trillions of pages turned, over half haven’t been read at all? Has it ever occurred to you that books have been transformed into toys? Children in schools use you until they grow up and buy iPhones and laptops, and you’re left on sitting sideways on some rotting wooden shelf that has nothing more to talk about than how bad of a shape he’s in. Has it ever occurred to you that there are mysteries, histories, nursery rhymes, and adventures that have been overlooked because of the simple fact that humans have given up on the great things?

Actually, it would seem that giving up is the only thing their willing to give. Your black blood on a papyrus shell just doesn’t flow in the mind like it used to. You reminisce on the time when you were the only one that cast a spell on him, and you gave him life again.

Now the wizard is off signing autographs and performing shows at Rockefeller Center every first Friday of the month. He uses only spells so basic that he doesn’t have to read the step by step instructions anymore. To be honest, the book isn’t even used as frequently. I think I even saw a family of dust specks rent a home on page thirty-three last week.

But has it slipped your mind, humble recipe? Have you forgotten already of the position you’re in? You are a torn page now.

So float on by.

Let the wind keep you steady.

The Day of Infamy

I can't imagine what goes through a girls mind,
As she lives grows and encounters the blues,
Looking for prince charming in the nick of time,
To carry her off on a journey that begins with two.

Most guys I know tremble at the thoughts of getting married,
They run hide say not for sale and crack other jokes for fun,
Guys think ball chain hang us now or let me be buried,
However with smitten heart they come with eyes fixed on one.

The day comes which the two have planned at last,
It seemed like forever this moment to arrive,
Hand in hand giving rings and vows shall they cast,
The Lord over them teaching them how to thrive.

Next stop vacation fun and the honey moon suite,
Then lessons of how to live together and pet peeves will spawn,
Moving on in their future we hear the pitter patter of little feet,
A home the lady will keep tidy while the man cuts the lawn.

Years will pass by and changes shall take place,
Children now grown and ready to leave the nest,
But the two remain in tact thankful for each other and new space,
Knowing it was God who helped them excel and pass each test.

Visible Breath

Autumn comes I stand watching the leaves..thinking
The breath leaves my body unseen
But as the mercury drops and as I ponder my place.
I notice all I think all I feel.
Right there on the window before me.
To others it's just a mist caused by cooling or heating or both.
A chilhood whimsical game"oh boy look it's cold"
To me that mist is all, your name , your face, Our time.
I want to wipe it away this physical aberation of all unseen in my heart.
I see it all the pain the love the heartache everything in a small whitish cloud on a simple window.
My hand reaches pauses oh so this is what you look like.
Oh if it was so easy to be done.
The mist fades rapidly with every lonely wasted breath. Making an apperance oh so briefly.
What ever course I take to wipe away or to gently touch the mist.
Would this breath on the window which taunts me so relay back to my damaged soul see its gone you'll be ok now or see how it welcomes your touch?
welcome to the world for all to see.
Hidden by the sun most of the time.
My fingers glide through the vanishing mist, I flash back to your cheek beneath my fingers.
Goodbye my love, goodbye my pain, goodbye to the only proof I have left of you.
But at peace I am.
I know now what I did not before.
Your not invisable your their in my breath.
Kissing the crisp Autumn air with me.
And all I have to do is breath.
And my visible breath will show me all I feel is real as real as the mist on the window

Crazy about you

I don’t what tomorrow will bring
 Neither do you
All we know is we’re here today

In my pocket got a diamond ring
 That belongs to you
So just hear what I came to say

 I am crazy about you
 Yes I am

I don’t know what the future holds
 No body does
We just do the best that we can

But I don’t care what unfolds
As long as I’m next you
And you’re here holding your hands

 I am crazy about you
 Yes I am

Only once in your life you meet some one
 Who is worth dying for?
And you if you ever have the chance
You would love them for ever more

I don’t know if it’s going to rain
 I didn’t see the news
Sometimes we can get some snow

But when we are with the one love
We don’t worry bout about those things
The seasons it just come and goes

 I am crazy about you
 Yes I am

I don’t know why we were born
 But god has his plans
So We just got to have faith

 But I believe in miracles
It’s just the way I am
And if you need more time I will wait

Cause I am crazy about you
 Yes I am

And I will Love and protect you
Cherish you for the rest of our lives
And I will never let one tear drops
 falls from your beautiful eyes

I don’t know if Prince Charles will ever be king
A lot of people asking me
But I really don’t know what to say

Maybe one day when the fat lady will sing
 But that might never be
I saw her in gym yesterday

All I know is that I love you so
And want to be in your arms today
And for the rest of my life
It’s where I want to stay

Cause I am crazy bout you
 Yes I am

cycles of love

my mark is fresh like snow in air
brisk and mist will crisp on hair
fists ball up from risk to care
whisper and stare but all is fair
love and reason, flow like seasons
the endings blending and quite seeming
parts of hearts, tho awake or dreaming
half is seeing, the other believing
eyes align and beats will sync
eyes a line for heat to sink
taken quickly for a fall
lovers stroll through memories' hall
echoes stir sight and scent
my senses flight keeps suspense
until logic teaches what it meant
all good things come to an end
summer lighting longer days
more hours to burn for lovers lay
precious tokens we hope to stay
from constant change or parting ways
spring into action to save those astray
a few more years can cost a pay
with lives and sacrifice displayed
perhaps tomorrow will be okay
years can fly like clouds in sky
feelings revealing what to decide
and just like that were back to try
to love the same until we die

A picture stuck there that gives me pain
A rain of misery pouring from my eyes
A flood of words choked in my throat.
This vision is killing me a little, everyday
Twisting my senses, taking my reason away
And it's the ghost of you.

A Doubtless Mind

No
One can

Deny my
Overwhelming love and
Uncontrollable desire for you.
Being in your arms and feeling your
Touch

Is
Nothing but completely

Miraculous!
You have

Made my
Inner thoughts of true happiness feel so
Natural that I know it's my
Destiny to share my love and life with you.

Illegitimi non Carborundum

Illegitimi non carborundum ;-)

...Staggering, my vision cloudy,

I fall to the hard ground.

when life’s sharp left-jab leaves my face bloody,

and all that surrounds me, is the desolation of loss I feel all around.

I see myself slipping,

down the abyss to where nothingness exists,

still, I cling on, groping for a foothold,

for my will to stay persists.

I clamber up, I stand my ground, though battered and bruised I may be,

my curtain is not falling yet, I have some fight still left in me.

It is then, in the pit of despair, when all seems bleak and painful and dull,

I summon the strength from deep within,

I rise, slowly, to face the day,

I refuse to sink,

to wallow, to surrender, to throw in the towel,

to drown,

for I am stronger now,

indeed I am, after all the years, and all the battles,

I stand, bruised and bloody,

still,

I stand,

I refuse, to sink, to drown,

for they can try, to punish me some more,

but I shall not allow them to grind me down…

living in a dream world

you were there
and so was i
you in youre world and me in mine
yet somehow we werent there at all
and our worlds were just to small
together we would unite
leaving our old worlds behind
creating a new worlds together
one that we would share forever and ever
now here we are
as we have and always will be
in a world that we created
for only you and me
no longer in our own worlds
but in our dream world

She

She

She smiled, gently,
her warmth infusing me,
with a serene stillness of time.

She settled, slowly,
in my waking thoughts,
a soothing balm of simple joy.

She remains, scribbled,
on the walls of my fractured heart,
memories of happiness that once breathed...

The Invisible Lover

From amidst the raging storm of thoughts a cry shattering the sky…

“When wilt thou return from the dew-topped mountains?
From those high peaks that rub my imagination through.

Where oft doth thou disappear into a fragile trail of foot prints that mystically
reappear?
from where I hear a heart’s lonely cry; from where the frantic cries of the reaper
submerge dies.
Is it true or is it just I?

What hath thou so wonderfully witnessed from a town so tinsel lies?
From where such ruthless condemnation forked displayed…

From where ever, tell me now, tell me how and tell me why?
When thou art gone for what must I still low lie?”

Abyss

When I needed you the most - you disappeared.......crawling into the vast belly of this dark, cruel, prosperous world.....leaving me alone to face the darkness and despair, forcing me to find my own light, while you wallowed in your own defeat and misery. But yet I survived, and thrived and surmised it was coming. You will always be a coward who walks the path of convenience and suffers silently for choices you regret. Forever regret, serving yourself a vicious serving of self-loathing daily. One day the darkness will succumb to the light, and the beams will shine upon your old, weak and weary face – but I won’t be there to share the warmth, nor will I celebrate the birth, I will remain distant and far………forever remembering your abandonment…..and forever will I not look your way; this stranger who now surfaced from the darkness, only to find himself sinking back into his dark abyss of loneliness and lost dreams.

Gentle as the moon

Who is this?
That calls me from my latent apathy.
Why is this good?
rescuing heart from lovers atrophy.

My desperate mewling
reached further than a shout.
Stumbling toe scraping limp
took me further, packed more clout.

I was lied to.
Thinking that you're bottomless ration,
could be earned,
could be bought with acts of compassion.

I was indulging in hurt,
abiding in poetic romantic pain.
I was thrashing around
bellowing at nothing,
needing to blame.

Why is this love for me?
when I was wasting all my energy
on a treadmill run.
Who is this?
That holds me light;
gentle as the moon,
source of the sun.

Legal Tender of Getting Old

Legal Tender of Getting Old

If tears were coins I'd be a rich man…
If sadness was time I'd live forever…
If I only knew what to do to make it better…
I would do it in a heartbeat.

But, no answers are easy when feelings crash around you…
And the Sun does not shine in the heavens above…
if only I could see…if only I could find a way…if only I knew…
How do you say goodbye when there is no love?

To only be me myself alone … again…
decisions are frightening and shaky to behold…
But change is needed for me to stay sane…
all the while we continue to grow old.

No, No, No

Mary, Mary, quite contrary said no too many times.
The boyfriend did cry foul, and left her standing in her prime.
But that’s OK I tell you, he wasn’t the right man to make a team.
And she was looking for true love, that illusive, lovely dream.

The important thing to remember is what this means to you.
Waiting can make sure that true love, is really, really true.

Did You Ever Really Know

The minutes lunge forward,
the days plunge fast.
Months slip by so quickly,
many years define our past.
Will you remember me?

Soft skin turns a blemish,
tiny wrinkles begin to show.
Our youth violently perishing,
did you recognize or even know?
Will you remember us?

Health, wealth and wagers,
placing all bets on love alone.
With stakes too high to squander,
this constant fear of the unknown.
Will I ever reach you?

Admiration, honor and devotion,
always seems to come in last.
Guilt, fear and destruction,
destroying the finish line fast.
Will you ever put me first?

Be joyful, happy and merry,
how do I find the will to be so?
While years have gone,
and our lives moved on,
an empty void will forever grow.
Did you ever really know?

LOVE ON DEATH LINE

I have not eaten today,
But my heart is filled
Not hungry of affection.
I had a fill of you last night
A fill of you for a life time

All around us are walking corpses
Corpses of political disregard
Humans of no nations
Even when they are bona-fide citizens
Your blood and mine flows in them

The government abhors the poor
Feeds them with empty promises
Shoves them through the door
They pay the bills
For social amenities they can’t find
Pay taxes for their castles
Government built in the air
But we know their ancestors
Filthy dogs eating from the king’s crumbs
No; Lets not unknot the knot
Soon a messiah might heed us

In heaven’s book of life,
I heard the poor names are there
In here’s book of life
It is deleted.
Thus, in your head,
Lays your kingdom and glory
Get rich or die trying
Or; be their poor and keep sulking.

Well, like them I saw…
I have not eaten
Flesh gone weak to skeleton
Nevertheless,
The solitude of love within
Keeps me living; I am breathing
But I am moving,
Towards your direction
I see your beam

I feel new
When I see you
From my heart
Seeps through the rays of the sun
Its fun; this love on death line
We survived the genocide
We survived the war
We survived love
We survived us
I love you too.

This poem is dedicated to the abused tribes of Rwanda and Nigeria during their respective civil wars resulting in near human annihilation. Though time has passed, we still feel your pains chilling our bones. The survivors.

When time came back

The blue little sky, watching the little bird fly,
stopping a bit to shy ,a great sight to deny!

After a long indeed old memories flew in my mind,
with similar adrenaline rush I don't know what I did find?

Feelings of the past never go away from you,
however far you may be they are still within you.

The same old thoughts and the idiotic dreams,
flashes back in the mind hearing the unknown screams.

Words still don't come out of my bleeding heart,
and she came all over again to make her mark.

The one whom I tried to reach now stands before me,
but still not satisfied don't know what i wanted this to be.

Time never does reverse -wise people stated it as a fact,
but now it's time when past came back!!!

I am just His Wife

Although I have his heart,
She courses through his veins.
She is his first love.
How can I compete?
How can I compare to the woman,
who stole his life?
I am his wife,
but my Love's obsessed with another.
He's sick without her.
I am just his wife.
How could I hope to compare,
with the woman who gives him
such a miserable life?
I am just his wife

Dancing Tides

Hope hangs by a string, but it never dies completely.
All your regrets are packed in the corner, all nice and neatly.
Hiding away so that the world can't make a fool of you.
Trying so hard not to do all that you're dying inside to do!
It's like a wave washing up onto the beach, it's never ending.
You hear the crash upon the shore as fake as when you are pretending.
The light from above as you struggle below for air,
is like a glimmer of trust in a game of truth and dare!
And like the tide we retreat and then come crashing down again
We are the dancing tides. We seek but never reach the end.
Gathering our minds, trying to figure it all out.
Hope, my old friend, looks like a twinkle of doubt.
But then the break forms a crack that leads the way
back to the dancing tides we love and like a wave we sway!

I Loved You

I loved you

You were sweet
You were fun
You were hot

You pulled the world from under my feet
You might as well have used a gun
On my life’s landscape you became a blot

I loved you

When I saw you my heart would race
You made me shiver and shake
You made dark skies brighten

Now I can’t look in your face
Now my heart is one big ache
Now you make my throat tighten

I loved you

I thought you were the best
The fun we had in our bed
I was so happy you were my wife

You ripped my heart from my chest
Now I just wish you outta my head
Just get the hell outta my life

I loved you

Now I don’t even like you

Bloody Ties

I steal, what I feel, make no mistake –
I charm, without alarm, to covet what I take.
I hide what’s inside, to abide what’s at stake.
I lie, and will deny, any wrongdoings I make.

You use and abuse your way through this life.
You cheat and defeat those plagued with strife.
You fail, and impale, those closest to your heart.
You wallow in the shallow, shredding ties apart.

We fret over the net, which safety has vanished.
We wail at the stale courtship now banished.
We hurt as we flirt our disaster, daily we plummet.
We trek through the wreck reaching death’s summit.

They say we’re astray, and our minds are broken.
They wonder, why blunder, a mirage of unspoken.
They chatter about clatter, with prejudice abound.
They sneer and they leer, that together we astound.

I’ll take the bane, and disdain and try to explain.
I’ll take the lies, masked in disguise and abstain.
I’ll take the tears, through the years and constrain.
For I made my bed, built of crimson nails and black lead,
and forever in my heart will you remain.

Summertime

Dead leaves and cheap red wine
Remind me of the summertime
Remind me of everything

She says she knows me well
Always one to kiss and tell
Tell me love will ring

And sun is shining
And she’s still crying
We were laying on blanket
Thinking no one else could see

Until the moon was rising
I thought our love was dying
Then whispers from lips
Told me all I need to know

Forever lost in endless bliss
The night of our first kiss
Her love was so wonderful

Heartaches and sad goodbyes
Ripped away the summertime
Ripped away everything

And her heart was beating
And her skin was warm
In the back seat of my chevy
She made me a man

And my mind was fleeting
With my fingers reading
The story of her body
And song of her soul

And when I think about that night
Her beauty still surrounds me
Like a blanket made of wool

And when I wonder where shes gone
Her memory disturbs me
Wakes me up from sleep

Her love still confounds
Made me who I was to be
But the summer never left me
It still burns here today
A fire raging northward
Across a huge expanse of space

Even in the heart of winter
The warmth still remains
Like beacon shining onward
Asking me to stay

Port of Call

Port of Call

Barefoot on a talcum beach,

alone, not lonely,

with the breath of the ocean a caressing balm,
soothing pained memories away,
to the swaying of a solitary palm.

Barefoot on a talcum beach,

alone, not lonely,

feeling the brushing away of all past turmoil,
on a quest for solace, ever so hard to find,
yet comforted by the crashing of the waves,
as the tide cleanses all pain,
and leaves despair far, far behind.

Barefoot on a talcum beach,

alone, not lonely,

drenched in a sea-breeze of mist,
that hushes the ache of bygone moons,
tasting the salty tang on my lips,
as the burnished sun,
over the distant horizon,
swoons,

and dips.

Barefoot on a talcum beach,

alone, not lonely,

searching, ever searching,
for a slice of solitude,
as memory bids a final adieu,
reaching under the sea so vast,
and seeking comfort in the depths,
while embracing,
the tomorrows to come,
wishing that they be true.

Barefoot on a talcum beach,

alone, not lonely,

seeing my truths drown,
as they slip beneath the turquoise waters,

feeling my heart ablaze,
with a passion that rarely falters.

Barefoot on a talcum beach,

alone, not lonely,

yet knowing that I am home at long last,
wishing the waves would wash away,
the defences that once stood,
like an impregnable wall.

Barefoot on a talcum beach,

alone, not lonely,

I have found, at long last,

my final port of call.

Someone Else's Harmonica

We can’t catch the breezes inside,
so we take to the porches, verandas, fire escapes.
Watch an asbestos moon rise
over steaming rooftops,
and count flags from far away cities.

Below, beetles swallow our Elm trees whole,
as I listen to the neighbors bickering
and someone else’s harmonica.

Marriage Is Under Attack Like Never Before

Marriage Is Under Attack Like Never Before! Marriage is under attack… And it’s because… So many people have trampled “God’s set of laws…” What once was ordained as “God’s order of unity…” Has often resulted in so much “infidelity…” The God given covenant between a woman and a man… Is so distorted… How can one truly understand? All the way from Genesis to Revelation… God made it clear from the time of creation… It was Adam and Eve from the very start… As Eve was formed from a rib… Close to Adam’s heart. They were joined together by their God above… Being a symbol of his creation and never-ending love This same God is the redeemer of your very soul… It’s only in him that you can be complete and whole! You are invited to join the marriage supper of the lamb… Christ is the bridegroom and is waiting for your hand! Won’t you accept God’s proposal he offers to you? He’s given the invitation… What will you do? He’s coming for a bride who’s sins are washed away! Won’t you accept his proposal of love… Today? He remains faithful… And forever true! And has already said the words; “I DO!” By Jim Pemberton

friction match

fourteen lines make a love sonnet
for both ancient and youthful alike
passionate love lines gushing upon it
putting feeling to page, like tonight

by the time that the fifth comes up
the flush of hot lust reigns full
yet already arched at its apogee
by eighth line fire starts to cool

love's fireworks blaze so beautifully
duly perfect in its dual dueling flight
yet fourth from last line seeks immunity
as ardent passions come crashin' to dislike

yet who among would not strike that match
to fire that work skyward for Eros' catch

A sweetly-scented, earthy rain-storm,
she came to me,

thunderously raging with raw emotion,
she came to me,

drenched in the essence of truth,
she came to me,

she touched a chord deep inside,
she strummed away all emptiness,

she came to me,

once...

she comes to me,

still...

a gentle presence filling my life,

she comes to me,

still,

a healing spirit soothing all inner strife.

TV Romance

Perhaps she can love you more than me?
Her technicolor mesmerizes you anyway.
quality time shaped around sitcomes and commercial breaks
Sound bites interrupts the distance between us.

Perhaps she can love me too,
except, I'm not interested.
Her background noise creates headaches and heartaches
boredom masquerading as entertainment.

Does she have your heart now?
For, you only stare at her, so intently.
As though speaking a hidden language with your eyes.
Echoes of 'oks' and 'nothing is wrong', make up our dances.

Perhaps she can love you more than I?
For, your compass of emotions points towards the windows of her soul.
While I sit,
waiting for things to be different.

Saturday Rain in Johannesburg

Saturday Rain in Johannesburg…

…With sighs of torrential passion,
the heavens shower teardrops,

weeping with me,
as memories of you come cascading back,

skin on skin, ablaze,
moist kisses, fiery,
gentle whispers of undying love, murmured,

in another life, another time,

far removed from my present, a desolate state of despair,
wallowing in the grime.

…

The rain keeps falling,
each teardrop stinging my face,

tasting the salt on my lips,

I wonder, do you still remember the caresses of my fingertips,

between breathy confessions, and vows of eternal love,

before you left me, stranded on an island of solitude,

wounded as a wingless dove,

bereft of life,
stripped of all traces of fortitude

testing each other's fire
The lights of the airport
pass before my weary eyes

Sifting out where my future lies
Evaluating my current ties

holdin' feelings inside
Reaching out in our lives

Holding each other tightly
In our weary souls
trying to fill in the wholes

Holding out our hearts
looking for a fresh start

Holding each other's hand
Wondering why the other has not ran

Choices

Stay now with me , and listen to my sighs,
Bidding me to drain the curse and know it all.
Feigned that I spake ill of thee,
As to who beholds two currents thwart amid
	the fluctous profound.

Pass , pass upon your way , for
I grow never old...and townward take to their
whirring flight. That o'er the green
cornfield did pass as I trembled.
Remarking how ill we are ; all
		dissembled.
Hands, that the rod of empire might have
swayed, in one long yelllow string wound.
Tell how they lived and died
not heeding to the blight.
Dying in distant music, even as it came...
upon the fated night , gloomy encompassing
	thee around.
And in the green underwood and cover, up ,
from the mystic play of shadows twining
and twisting as if they were alive...
Mindful the while that thus time flies for you,
That I myself was not more whimsical. Burning
more truely as it dwells, than
where the lights scatter amid two voices.
And all else is silent & perfect
with my choices.

Vexing High

I’m caught in the midst of a dream I reside –
tumbling lovers tempting romance with pride.
Twisting and thrusting, to and fro with hate –
stumbling over a beautiful destiny and fate.

Creeping and crawling through shards of hope –
resisting the tension on a loveless, tight rope.
Shuddering in solitude, and mentally numb –
oblivious to the breakdown of who I’ve become.

Teasing and taunting, the years of lost time –
mocking their innocence with words and rhyme.
Insulting their integrity, of wrong over right –
disregarding true feelings, absconding the night.

Searching the wreckage, down high and up low –
for bits of true love and familiar pieces I know.
Vexing in torment, and accepting thy defeat –
of an unspeakable romantic tale of deceit.

I board an airplane, to venture someplace
with faith on the pilot, that I shall reach

I ride the boat of truth, in the river of life
with faith that He shall row
I hold a tight grip on God's hand
with faith that he will never let go.

In Our Own Galaxy

We walked to a place far away.

A new galaxy of passion and spirituality.

He gathered a bed of stars, so that I could shine above the earth.

He made the moon our mirror of life.

He gave me everything I never dreamed.

It was larger than imagination.

No pain. No sorrow. No distractions. Just actions.

Aligning the planets in an orderly fashion. We made love.

Deep in my soul is where he planted a seed.

Who said that man and man couldn't build this masterpiece.

Goddesses of Beauty, Gods of Seas.

I know now how it feels to exalt within their realm.

He made me feel superhuman.

I too revisited his soul the same.

We deceived pain. We sustained.

We made what is so complex, plain.

And the heavens will still ordain.

See we can never stop the rain.

But we can reach the clouds.

Because they thought our love couldn't bare the ground.

But we inherit the sound of thunder, the strikes of light.

To succeed. We live in peace. We don't Have to fight.

We want to be able to love. Is that a travesty?

But he made it all possible in our own galaxy.

See when he touches me he says he's tracing the constellations.

Signifying the trust and unity, and the dedication.

He says I make his moon full. Make his planets orbit.

How could a world so FREE think of that as morbid? Yet we absorb it.

Cause its been said "Ye are all gods."

And in our galaxy, we reign supreme.

Against all odds!

enthralled with enchantment, my pigeons are doves

Decided

Years of indecision
Ended in an instant
My life in third revision
Starting in the present

Touching everything I've owned
Importing their very essence
Of each and every feeling they borne
History rearing it's very presents

Boxed and placed on an empty truck
My very existence held in transit
That is when the melancholy struck
Walking out this door would be a heroic bit

On the other side of town a lady waited
Patiently for me and for me to decide
That my wild single passions were sated
And to face and enjoy life by her side

I fired up that truck, my heart, soul and mind
Pointed them carefully to the other side of town
Arriving at a place, I knew, true love I would find
Truly amazed at the acceptance I had found.

Death Of Romance

However we look, it takes so much space,
If only we could just leave it alone...
The same monstrosity we all must face,
Of an enormity wholly unknown;
This promise of a, yet, more massive hole,
To which we're to play both guest and host;
It's a performance of the score, the soul:
All that's forgotten, there remains the ghost.
The spit and the polish of the spirit
Is whatever's to be sought in essence;
The future's full, there's no need to fear it,
We are of Will, a much practiced presence.
What more's contained in a whisper? A kiss?
What might Love become before such abyss?

Setting up House

I met a woman, fell in love
She was a gift from above
Soon she became my spouse
We gathered things and set up house.

Some things were new without a flaw
Some were hand me downs from Ma and Paw
For some we saved nickels in a can
Some were bought on the installment plan.

Children came – a total of four
Two boys – two girls- no need for more
We managed to provide room and board
Did the best we could afford.

We moved around from house to house
On an adventure – me and my spouse
Gathering things to which we would cling
But we rarely got rid of anything.

Tables, chairs, couches, and beds
Cabinets and shelves taller than our heads
Mugs, pictures, and bells we did collect
Mementoes and heirlooms on which to reflect.

A man gathers a lot in over fifty years
And remembers many of them with tears
Many a thing still fills my house
But it’s not a home without my spouse.

She has a room in a retirement home
Care is provided and she cannot roam
I dreamed one day we would be old timers
But I never figured on Alzheimer’s.

Now I have a house full of stuff
Too many things - more than enough
The time has come to downsize
To an apartment in the high rise.

My children came one by one
Went through my stuff until they were done
One takes this and another takes that
And managed to do so without a spat.

Giving things away is a lonely task
My irritability I cannot mask
Gathering things with my spouse
Was more fun than cleaning out house.

All I Have Left

All I Have Left
(Is What You Left Behind)

By Gayle Jeanine Haven©

What I have left
Is a memory
Of the kiss I always wanted
Accompanied
By the touch of a man’s hand
Worn by sun and work
Gentled
By the feel of a woman’s cheek
That was mine.

What I have left
Is the feeling
Of a man’s breath that catches
And holds
To be exhaled in a slow heated rush
To mingle with mine
Against
Joined lower lips
That become a resting place
For a moment
Speaking again and again
In silent insistent kisses
That wanted mine.

All I have left
Is the whisper
Of what you
left behind.

You

Accusations and fabrications,
made without foundation,
have pulverized my heart.

Your insecurities and fears,
your jealousy and tears,
are tearing us apart.

I've given you all of me,
so why the hell can't you see,
it's been you from the start?

No matter what I say,
you’re gonna doubt me anyway,
but it's you who owns my heart.

Essence of Heart

A single entity
Supporting
A Flawless network.
A Labyrinth of tubes
On a shattered
foundation.
A lifetime of
battling
Invisible demons.
The truth stares
back.
Conversations with
the mirror.
Vengeance meted
against allies.
Surrender to life.
Searching for
something to die for
The absence of which
Makes us unworthy.
The part of you
That keeps you
alive,
Is the part that
Makes you live..

Just One Drink

What did she say when you told her you still loved me?

Did she turn away or try to disagree

Did you think about her or how she would be?

No you were only thinking about me.

She stands there now, all alone

Facing her fears of the unknown

Turning her head on what she's once known

Realizing now, she's on her own

With no one around to help her choose

She stands her ground, not ready to lose

Her head held high while hearing the news

To accept her fate, she must refuse

She tries and tires with all her might

To win you back every night

She has no plans to give up the fight

Any hope is out of sight

Her heart is now filled with hatred

Will all the love that you desecrated

With just that one sentence that you stated

Her entire life is now dated

Did you ever stop and try to think,

Just how far she would sink?

How close she was to the brink?

Or how it could all end with just one drink?

Just one drink to end all the pain

Just one little sip to break the chain

Just one to do the job, to her disdain

Just one and she will die in vain.

You don't even care to attend her funeral

To you she was just a girl that you could treat cruel

How could you be such a fool?

You don't even know of the fire you've fueled.

You come to my door and ring the bell

You send thousands of messages to my cell

Repeatedly the words "I LOVE YOU" you yell

But for all I care you can just go right on to hell

I don't want you anymore you Silly boy

I am no longer your stupid little toy

As for the loneliness you feel now, I hope you enjoy

Because you had your chance and my love you destroyed.

I am my own person without you

I no longer rely on your every move

I am no longer clueless on what to do

I know now I can move on to someone new.

As for the girl that you threw aside

I hope you think of her every time you cry

You're the whole reason that she died

If you wanted someone to love, she would have been there by your side.

She would have loved you the way you love me

But you never opened your eyes and seen what there was to see

I'll never love you no matter how hard you plea

So wallow in your self pity, you'll get no remorse from me

I hope you drown in your misery

Thank God that sad little girl is finally free

Thank God I knew it was time to flee

This is goodbye, so don't bother calling me.

Harmonies

She lives inside of me,
In the secret catacombs
Of my soul.
She's there, in every
Step I take
Calling me back home,
Where its warm
Where its safe..

She doesn't know
Where I am.
The birth of my dreams,
In her eyes and mine.
She smiles
Her perfect smile
To cataracted eyes
Now unappreciative..

Two parts of one
lost forevermore
I can't contain
This red super giant
My pain, pulsing
A painful reminder
Of how fated love
Became an abyss..

How did I refuse
Her celestial grace?
Her beauty,
A reason to believe
In His grand design.
How did I turn
My back
On sunlight..

I've never cared
to look for another.
My heart, I know,
Was truly lost
The day she left.
Slowly the eclipse
Crept towards my
My soul bereft..

I hope that she
Is always happy
No matter where
She may be.
I'm happy that for
A moment
The sun danced
Around me..

Just Say It

I know how hard saying it can be,
It just gets stuck in your throat
Each time you try to explain what your are trying to say.

When you finally get the never to talk about it
The subject has walked away.
Why is I love you so hard to say?

Chapter one of their love story

She’s painting a flower
With paint covered cloths
And there is a little dab of green
On her cute little nose

She looks at the clock
And thinks how the time goes by
And she thinks of an Indian boy
She knows working in Dubai

She likes to talk to him
On facebook almost everyday
And he makes her laugh
And take her problems away

It’s much more than friendship
Love is there she won’t denied
She’s shy to say how she feels
So she keeps her feelings inside

He gets out the shower
After along day at work
Puts on the big bang theory
Gets some popcorn and a coke

Far away on the Mauritius island
A Girl’s looking over the sea
He wonders if he will meet her
For chapter one of their love story

True love don’t need a passport
To travel to any distance
Two hearts can be world apart
But can reach you in an instance

Many love are born from friendship
True love bring happiness eternity
And the real meaning of love
Means never having to say you’re sorry

She sits on her front steps
Watching the sun go down tonight
And the moon and stars comes out
To make the sky comes alight

Some times silent love
Speaks louder than words can say
And they both are shy to reveal
So in their hearts love will stay

And just like the river travels
Miles until it reaches the sea
One day they will meet each other
And love will flow eternally

He’s taking the train to work
Outside is dark and rainy
He thinks of this Mauritius girl
The Chapter one of his love story

Field Of Dreams

Come walk with me thru' a field of dreams
Of wooded lanes and sunlit streams
Where rainbows light the path below
And Sunlite' beckons the flowers to grow

On beaches strewn with shells and sand
Come walk with me all thru' this land
We'll run with the wind blowing in our hair
And all our hopes and dreams we'll share

With hands deliciously touching and learning
To devour a flame in our souls that's burning
The moon will be our friend at nite'
We'll walk in the shadows and hold on tight

We'll dance till dawn and laugh with the sun
And wonder where the nite' has gone
Natures sweet smells will fill our senses
And we'll drink from it's bounty until it quenches~
Our thrist for life and love and glory
And pray for no end to come to our story

In endless play and voices that sing
Sweet waters dimpling laugh from a spring
The comforting feel of sensual fingers
And the fragrance of skin...
And the smell that lingers

Oh, it's such a sweet refrain...
To live and love and dance again

How Do I Let You Go

What will be
Will be!
I know of this, first hand
Your life was taken away
So abruptly!
I will
Never forget
That day!
Till the day
My body dies
And
I am with you, again!

“How was I to prepare myself?”
With
That kind of
Life changing, event!
You
Didn't warn me
You
Were permanently leaving!
I hope
You know
How much “I love you”
Know
You will never be forgotten!

I don’t know
What
Has got into me!
Consciously
I feel you
Inside me
I see images
Of your face
So clearly!
Am I crazy
To believe in this, my love?

“Are you still with me?”
“Is my imagination
Playing cruel tricks
Running rampant
As
I talk with you
As if
You were by my side, right now

In my heart and mind
Your face etched
Imprinted
Like a blue print
That never fades
Your foot prints
Still remain, beside me
My heart beats
Eternally
Trying to make sense of everything!

Forgive me, my love
For being so strong in my feeling
For it has been a long time
Since I lost you, my friend
Something
I haven’t
Quite
Got over!

My heart
Having
A mind of its own
Aching
To be with you, still!
To see you
To smell you
To touch you
To taste you
One
Last time!

I want to say “Goodbye”
Once and for all!
As
We have
Brought out
The best and worst
In each other
Rivers run deep
When it comes to you and me!

We have had our fair share of fights and arguments
Stubborn disagreements
All of them
Meaningless
Now
You cease to exist!

I miss your lingering touches
Your hand, stroking my face
Your big, blue eyes
Looking into mine
Your warm lips
Your rough, unshaven face
The way you
Passionately
Kiss me
While
We make love, till dawn

I miss
All those nights
You kept me
Safe and warm!
I miss
Your
Loving embrace
I miss
Your
Reassurance!
“Am I ever going to feel the same, with another?”
Just
As
I felt
In your arms, my love?

How
Do I let you go?
How
Do I set myself, free?
I am ready
To love, again!
With
‘Our eternal love’
Supporting
And
Guiding me
Especially
In times, like these!

The Swaying of the Grass

1.

A path leads,

to where wild grass grows,

sashaying in the summer breeze.

2.

Along the path,
lightness settles within,

feeling the grass,
swooning,
tickling ankles,

swaying to the lilting bird-song,

in a dance of intimate abandon,

brushing the remnants of pain away.

3.

Melodies float across fields of green,

delicately caressing my heart,

teasing emptiness to flee,

comforting the mind,

to silently be.

4.

Walking on,
savouring the peace,

a momentary respite,
from the burdens of the now,

all is quiet,

a stillness cradling fractured emotions,

the grass in the fields sway,

dusk descends,

shadows lengthen,

nudging dimming light to take leave,

of the day

CONFRONTING THE DILEMMA OF DOUBT

They both have the same color of eyes,
one is funny, the other is not;
an error in judgment means a lot...
happiness or sadness I realize!

They both seem so honest and nice,
the younger one dreams in colors;
the older one whispers nuptial words...
will I be cheated or smile in surprise?

They both seem to care by being so tender,
not seeing the uncertainty in my glances;
I hate when the envious one just stares,
and the quite one brushes her frizzy hair.

And so alone confronting the dilemma of doubt,
I must diligently choose one to keep for a lifetime,
but things get worse and I act in pantomime;
with lights out, fears grows quicker than a sprout.

Regular guy

Well I was born a Trinidadian
 Then I went to America
I was living in the cold
But I still like my hot pepper

 I live there along time
But I never use a Yankee twang
 And every where I go
 People knows I’m a Trinidadian

 And I’m nothing special
I am just a regular guy
So woman if you love me
Don’t expect the moon and sky

 But I am a romantic
I like to romance the woman i love
I will treat her like an angel
 Who just came from above?

 Everyday will bring her flowers
And make her breakfast in bed
Comfort her when she not feeling well
Put oil and squeeze her head

 I will take you shopping
And hold your bags in the mall
And get you the smartest phone
To talk to mom when she call

 A woman don’t want a player
 She wants a regular guy
Some one who truly loves her?
And will never make her cry

I will make candle light dinner
And stew chicken, red bean and rice
 And if you feeling thirsty
Will give you cool drinks on ice

 Trinidad men love their women
Value them more than diamond and gold
He will give his woman his t-shirt
And walk bare back in the cold

 So when comes loving you
 My love is bottomless
Will make your life a vacation
 Full of joy and tenderness

 So beautiful woman
 You are my universe
Will work morning, noon and night
To put money in your purse

And this is no sweet talk
Cause I am just a regular guy
But when I love a woman
I will romance her till I die

Yes I am just a Trinidadian
 Deep down to my bones
And I really miss my woman
So let me cal her on the phone

Our Relationship

I was one in a large selection
The two of us made a connection
I admit I had a predilection
You and I started out as perfection
Everyday filled with affection
Then came all the little corrections
After your voice made many inflections
So then I made an interjection
That I had began to have some detection
But you told me to stop with my dissection
Saying that it was for my protection
And gave me a lovely future projection
So I believed all of your flexions
Just by the look on your complexion
But still I was filled with some dejection
So after a night of introspection
I knew I could not put up with this rejection
And after a few minutes of reflection
I had several recollections
I could finally see every imperfection
The lies that met at their intersections
I had to have a little inspection
At first I felt some circumspection
So I followed you in your direction
Into town in a different section
Looked in some doors that needed disinfection
Only to find a girl on top of your erection
What I felt come on was an insurrection
My anger swirled around like convection
You pushed her off to make an objection
Don’t bother to make a defection
This relationship has no chance of resurrection.

If I Were a Gal

If I were a gal and the world my oyster
All the macho men I'd gladly cloister
Give me a man who will hold my purse
Write me poetry verse by verse
A sensitive man with a gentle soul
Who knows all the words to Rock & Roll
Who helps with the kids and then does the dishes
Who caters to my every whim and all wishes
Give me a man with no alcohol thirst
Who know in his heart family always comes first
Who right from the start has no eyes for another
And maybe, just maybe, gets along with my mother
Yes, if I were a gal, I wouldn't change much
If I had a guy with a gentleman's touch
There wouldn't be anything else I would need
If I were a gal indeed

Nothing Back, with prelude

Finally found the perfect prelude to this previous piece...

She never learns the lesson
Not to dance under the moon
With all the stars applauding
Her nakedness

Her thirst, her insane laughter
And getting drunk
On the flashes of lightning
At midnight

Nothing Back

A siren, you are my love,
You call men to their doom...
their destiny?

I blame you not...
for a mortal cannot rule the mythical.
I was almost held to your spell...
If I had not knotted myself to the mast.

You promise an' take everything,
But nothing in return do you offer.
The sweet songs you weave...
Call to me....
As if I were the only one.

To see people for who they are...
Is the only way i can live....
and give.

Goodbye, my Siren,..... goodbye?

I Thought Love Came My Way

I didn’t know what hit me
When I thought love came my way
It came almost out of nowhere
But it would not stay

It made its camp for several years
The best years I thought I’d had
It made me happy now and then
It mostly made me sad

Sometimes it left me alone
Just desperate to hold on
Trying hard to save something
That was already gone

But it vanished quickly
It left me in the cold
And any smiles it brought me
Were replaced by tears tenfold

And so I’ve come to realize
That wasn’t love at all
It wasn’t even close to love
It was just so flawed

Because real love is perfect
Real love doesn’t leave
Real love makes you stronger
It doesn’t make you weak

Real love can’t be broken
It doesn’t fade away
It stands strong through any storm
And it cannot be swayed

I hope that love will find me
And that I’ll know it when it does
I hope that it comes quickly
And that its all that I’ve dreamed of

Patiences

When separated from the one you love
It’s very hard to fight back the tears
 You become emotionally drained
And the day’s apart feels like its years

While a million knife enters your heart
Loneliness filled confusion enters your mind
You think of all the words unspoken
That keeps haunting you all the time

And in a world of 7 billion people
You are left standing there all alone
Hoping and praying that you will see
A call or text from them on you phone

She just leaves me and went away
Although I keep saying “I love you’
She just keep walking didn’t look back
To see pain and suffering I’m going thru”

She left a million holes in my heart
That’s full with the emptiness of my life
And every second that slowly goes by
Takes away the hope for me to survive

Oh Jesus, oh Allah, oh lord Rama
Please reach out your hands from above
And if I ever done any good deeds
Please bring back the only woman I love

I will do anything that you want me
I will never say a bad word again
I will go to mosque, go to church and temple
Please bring her back, I will do anything

So many nights I just lay awake crying
To cry for the woman you love, is no shame
It just proves how much you love her
And for her you will walk thru hells flames

No one knows how much I missing her
And my tears keeps falling and wont stop
They will say stupid things like?
Let her go, drink a beer and “man up”

But she is the woman I love
She is my life, my heart and soul
The only perfect person god created
With The sweetest voice in the world

But rain don’t fall for one place for ever
So will keep holding on with all my faith
And I know that miracles dot comes true
I just got to have a little patience’s to wait

Love's Lies

Like a warm knife through the butter of the soul,
The insect that scratches the ear drums as we watch love's lies lay eggs of waste
Till they're in the mouth of your mirror's reflection of fear
least someone should lie themselves into a care of this placebo of lust.
Till eyes turn against nature to the arid desert of exhaust
the emotional orgy to the mental climax of the unreal.
Descriptions of the void so vivid stirs a chuckle refusing to be hydrated with tears
Cynical text mid composition stirs the stomachs dragons....sighs
O how love's lies have caught us.

This dxxn dam

My mental barriers crumble
as I sink deeper into this drunken delirium.
Thoughts of her rush in
like water through the cracks of a broken dam.
As the stone wall falls
and I am swept away by the flood,
I am sliced by debris and images of her smile.
I become submerged
and the sounds of her laugh flow into my ears.
Beat to hell and soaked with sorrow,
I finally wash ashore.

When Two Hands Fit Like Ours Do

When two hands fit like ours do, palm to palm and fingers laced,
The world sits, undesired; all I need is in your face.
When mornings, bleak without you, find your voice and make reply,
The Sun is milk and honey rising in the sea foam sky.
When I am sat beside you, close enough to feel at ease,
I'm lost and found quite simply in your eyes, the way you breathe.
When two hands fit like ours do, there's perfection in the hold,
And each will have the other with their lover's band of gold.

But is it
me
seeing
again
as if
the first time
we hadn't
made love

Or perhaps
we
were
in love
and not
out of
it

Pushing
it

between us

like

Die With Passion

You need to come find me.
This, this game is done can't you see?
I can not hide from you any more.
I want to watch you suffer, suffer more.

This game is getting so old.
My heart has become so cold
I do not love you any more.
I’m frozen to my core.

I don’t love you any more
Listen to me roar,
I hate you passionetly.
You’ve set my anger free.

I don’t even really care
If you’re no longer there
Lord you made me cry
I wish you would just die
‘Cause I don’t love you anymore

Come on out stop hiding
As you can see you’re not my King
Come on out and play
Today’s your dying day

I don’t love you anymore
My heart is what you tore
Lord you killed me
You ignored my dying plea.

I will never even care
If you’re no longer breathing air
I’ll be glad when you die
And you want to know why?
‘Cause I don’t love you anymore

(now go) You are going to die
(you) Didn’t even care that I
(go) Was used like trash, blown away
(die) It’s your time to pay

I don’t love you anymore
All the suffering that I bore
Your soul is coming with me
To Hell we’re going to flee

I don’t even really care
That you’re dead, I’m well aware
The time has come for this goodbye
To Hell will your soul fly
‘Cause I don’t love you anymore

Pink Carnations

For Carole

Whenever there would seem to be
A serious argument between you and me
Or to ease the pain of a fight
And make the ugly seem the right

I never had a love before
That I could pamper, love, adore...
I thought you understood
Those times that things weren't going good

You did
For awhile
It would always make you smile
We'd make up and forget the night before
Those times I'd bring a pink carnation to your door

You said, "No man ever loved me before."
And I could see
It wasn't that you didn't love me
They ceased to erase the pain
Those pink carnations I brought to your door

All the hours and money spent
Buying flowers to hide mistakes I never meant
If only I had spent more time
In loving you
Maybe you would now be mine.

Tendrils of Hope

Refusing to succumb,

to the alluring haze of self-pity,

I refuse to wallow,
in an ocean of regret,

I choose to banish thoughts of despair,

dispelling pain, while tempting joy to emerge from its shielded lair.

I shall sow the seeds of promise,

nourishing well,

the tendrils of hope,

breathing new life into my nights, my days.

I must stand, I will rise, I have to believe,

in a better tomorrow,

not perfect, nor rosy,

yet filled with tidbits of bliss,

as well as with shards of sorrow.

She

She.

She,
remains just out of focus,
an elusive portrait,

etched in the corner of the mind's eye.

she,
sometimes strays into view,
a blurred mirage,
of burnished words cast in indelible dye.

she,
steals fragments of each day,
a welcome thief,
of emotions left in some dusty space.

she,
scatters my poems in the breeze,
an invited spell,
that vanishes into the wind without a trace.

she,
renders me mute and so often blind,
the wild dreamer,
a seeder of impossible thoughts in the mind.

she,
brings the elements of nature to me,
a gentle healer,
she unfolds my thoughts setting them free.

she,
comes and goes as she chooses,
an untamed spirit,
soothing the very place that she bruises.

she,
rouses me in nights of empty slumber,
a murmured breath,
brushing my cheeks with kisses too many to number.

she,
remains to me the enigmatic one,
a burning riddle,
yet she stays with me as each torturous day is done.

she,
my heart knows not why she stays,
my consistent constant,
filling up my nights and consoling my days.

she,
deserves so much more from fate,
the truest soul,
she loves too much and knows not how to hate.

she,
arrives again tonight as I lie awake,
a thoughtful shield,
my coat of armour in a world far too fake.

she,
stays with me and within me stays still,
the true one,
and to dwell deep in my soul is where she always will.

she,
from whose cup I have so greedily drank,
a giver of life,
I have not the words with which to her wholly thank.

she,
knows how desolate a world this can be,
my sustainer of hope,
and of life and of breath is what she will always be.

You Must Set Yourself On Fire

A thousand midnights tread,
Highwire circus acts
Traversing the lavender Horizon-crease;

I memorize such sudden perforations,
Keep them under my swollen tongue
Only to purge them gracelessly
Back into your fist.
Replace my stumbling almost-words
With vastness:
A self-induced universe freckled by
Cauterized cigarette burn stars
And half empty beer cans.

I fill my lungs with feral smog,
You fill your head with smoke;
My nose trickles blood freely.

And if it was not for such ongoing facades--
Psuedointelect, rabid romances,
My world on unstable axis--
We might have,
By now,
Enshrined our Hearts in plaster molds,
Traded our eyes for seaglass pebbles.

The cherry blossoms have yet to bloom under
This hemisphere of the city:
Bare branches claw against dusk
and, in masochistic frost,

You burn your fingerprints into
My back.

Musings Unknown Without Direction

This new moment poised
flower of passion unopened
wondering how to step
or withdraw somewhat shy
unafraid to say but
so far away she flies

and how could I not recall
those curious things unsaid
that were already spoken
before their time could be known
and of course again the chime
like a bell somehow in mist

sheets of falling rain
cutting through fog
like soft candles in the night
peaking and peeking
awakening from a dream
that was only a memory of tomorrow

she calls my name and I
know the answer to that
but hesitate here a bit
never wanting too fast
to walk when running would do
just the same I sit and stare

at these words I write
fantastic in their speed
not how they flow but
the quickness of recognition
that comes from two souls
locked in kisses that may never come

yet they do in some strange way
haunt me to wondering now
could a moment so soft
skin pressed nakedly imagined
without even knowing a face
and yet it passes away again

like water falling cascades
musing in day dreams as I
poise my fingers for the next line
that erupts in a river of meaning
unknown
nevertheless less alone

for a friend with some voice
resonates occasionally late
and I do dream of speaking again
as it will come no doubt soon enough
never too late to hold someone's hand
in the darkness of fear that we transcend

so I withdraw nothing here
and walk forward without direction
or even intent
only thinking to scribble my breath
into these pixels to this stranger
unaware how her heart sounds

pressed against my ear at night
when only the moon shines brightly
or perhaps a whisper illuminates the room
where two entangled bodies recline
again without purpose or direction
other than more nearby than before

Wrong Places

Lose your mind
Doing time in all the wrong places

Got some friends
Lots of friends
In all the wrong places

Choose which one
They're all fun
Pretty faces

Dressed their best
Wearing less
In all the wrong places

On display
Come what may
Lined up like vases

Take your chance
Cash advance
In all the wrong places

Lose your heart
Here's where to start
In all the wrong places

I Implore You

I.
 Spare me from your pity,
show me no love.
Burn me in hatred,
render me helpless.

II.
 Refrain from giving me hope,
that you reciprocate my devotion.
I`d rather you scorn me,
than mercilessly deceive me.

III.
 Please don`t leave me wondering,
don`t tease me with that sweet smile.
Embrace me not if it`s all just a lie.
Don`t drive me further into insanity than you already have.

Evening

I'm breathing the smoke of fruit cigarettes,
One's already burnt; I am craving for more.
I'm lighting the last one with no regrets -
If you were beside me, it well could be four.

I'm slowly turning the key in my lock;
It usually takes me two minutes or three,
But I have been blind to the obstinate clock -
Alas, there is no one waiting for me.

My room has no present but treasures the past;
Its walls will recall every breath that we share...
I'm feeling so cold. I break down at last:
My papers will choke on the ink of despair.

My heart's like a violin's sound, unclear;
It's out of tune for a permanent matter.
I'll sign all these verses with only one tear
And seal with a sigh just to send with a letter.

Just me and You

Just me and you
The sunrays blocking my sight
My eyes turning to someone I...
I thought I knew, I thought my heart played me through
I turned my head after a 4 second sight
I wish he could see, I wish he could feel
The way I see and feel to life
I don’t know anything about him
But is it okay? Is it okay?
To live a day where my heart is my only guide
And my feelings are kept aside?
Where I could hate the ones I hate
And get to know my enemies rate?
If I could spend my day so pure
So light, so wanna live my life ??

my heart
went slowly
tumbling
down
low
anger and rage filled my heart
I didn't exactly understand
but I didn't question why
I just cried
cried and cried until I had no cry left
I didn't bother to wipe my tears
they where too much to bear
nobody said it'd be easy

Then why must I?

Burgundy

So this is what it’s about
sitting under the darkening sky
hoping to finish the last red drop
before the first rain drops

swirling burgundy around the crystal
grape puddles breathing an oily fog
spit seeds of perception—
the acidity of intellect
eating through the rinds of remorse
as she speaks
and speaks?

About Last Night - New Year's Eve Remorse

About last night...

I just wanted to write and tell you
That last night was a big mistake
I'd had way too much to drink
I was tired and it was getting late.

I wasn't thinking clearly
I wasn't thinking the way I normally do
I let my emotions get the best of me
I let you tell me things that were not true.
I was influenced by the moment
I did things that I now wish I didn't do.

When we first met last night
I could see clearly see what was on your mind.
I could see clearly read your twisted intent
I could easily read the lust that was in your eyes.

And it had nothing to do with 'Forevers"
'I do's', White Dresses or White Weddings
Long term commitments of any kind.
It all had to do with you pleasing yourself
Executing what was on your mind.

And so I let you woo me
I let you stay with me for a while
You had a sort of amusement
You had a captivating smile.

When we danced all night
I let you hold me close
I closed my eyes and pretended
That we were in love
I let myself be in a different place
I place where I was loved.

Last night's drinking led to dancing
And then dancing led to our first kiss
And then kisses led to other things
Things I engaged in
But now in hindsight
With some remiss.

And so I just wanted to tell you
If it had been in another time or place
I would never have given you the time of day
You never would have kissed my smiling face.

And so I feel that I need to tell you
On this first day of the first of the year
That I never ever want to see you again
In spite of last night's cheer.

You just happened to be there
When I needed someone to engage
With a comforting smile
You were a mild amusement
You kept me company for a while.

And so that's about all I needed to tell you
About what happened late last night
I just wanted to write you a formal goodbye
And tell you what was on my mind
I thought that I would send it to you
And do what I thought was right.

An 02h00 Scribble

a 2:00 AM scribble...

'twas but a lifetime ago
when she floated as if in a dream

when the whistling winds
called out her name

while the truth was revealed
of her love supreme

she walked into the barren landscape of my world

and carved-up an exclusive place

excising the pain as the standard of love fluttered in the breeze once it was unfurled

she walked into the solitary vacuum of a heart rendered mute

instilling in that heart a passion that became impossible to refute

a passion blazing with renewed belief

with solitude consigned to the shadows

and despair shunned into the night like an scurrying thief

her touch was gentle, her manner warm and light

her love an endless sea of possibility

washing up against the shores of my moonless night

and when that burst of colour came through

like a dozen rainbows in the monsoon twilight

her face like a revelation shone

as I silently, in awe, gazed at that miraculous sight

and though a lifetime ago it seems

she regularly dances between the cotton-wool clouds of my dreams

and she infuses my each and evey moment with a love so strong

that effortlessly soothes me knowing that I belong

in the haven of her warm embrace

as I gaze lovingly
at her wondrous face

and into those eyes that pull me closer into the ocean of desire

while my spirit soars up into the heavens, ever so higher

it takes but a moment with her to know

that these feelings shall prevail

for they diminish not, as they continually grow

spawning a paradisical garden of emotion and love

and being entwined in her arms seems like a gift from above

for here is where I always hope to be

anchored safely by her side, and not adrift in the emptiness of the vast lonesome sea

so allow me to thank thee
for the lifeline you cast as I lay drowning in thought

and for being the treasure trove of love that I have always sought

so stay well, sweet one
and remember me once or twice in a moon of blue

and know forever that these scribbled words

are deeply felt and forever shall be, eternally true...

Relationship Math

They say one is the loneliest number,
And two heads are better than one.
But I say -1 is worse,
Because then you know what’s missing.
They say it is better to have loved and lost,
Then to never have loved at all
But they also say ignorance is bliss,
And knowing is half the battle
[Go Joe!]
The hell that is loss,
Is greater than lonely.
So I say screw them/they.
Learn to love yourself-
The only one who will be there for life…
Without you +1 or -1 doesn’t matter…
(It all averages out in the end…)

Feelings Of Passion

The coolness of my basement makes me hype'
And the warmth of heaters makes me depressed.
The presence of my family makes me stressed,
Yet the remembrance of my semi-lover
Is what makes me foresee
The ripening of my arousing essence.
I am who I am and our sensational kiss
Was enough to transform everlasting bliss
Into a piece of my gradational adolescence.
Hoping for a kind of future with her.
'Cause now I'm so sure of how I feel,
I want this daydream of me and her
To become so magically real.

Breath Away

Visual cacophonies: I witness
Them, blithe and impaired-smouldering like a
Cigarette. Phoenix, to rise from ashes
Is irrelevance; flame is far from a
Necessity to warmth, though I am no
Prometheus with bruises of the mind.
It has wavered too long, taken too slow
To only find it has been wasted time
(And the time peices are all unfriendly here).
     They, unreliable and tepid, take
The breath away from me-it idles there,
Steaming from exposure, cursed and fake.
There lacks a subtle hinting waif to speak
Of all unglories of a Heart that's weak.

Just a Kiss

Perhaps it was just a kiss
warmer than your soul remembers
in that moment's comprehension
but no doubt only some dim fraction
of your inner light unbound and undressed
where you are entangled
longing to be entwined, forgotten, and lost
adrift upon the sea of no desire without direction
lingering there until the sky becomes sunset
sunset becomes night
night becomes dawn
and dawn becomes day again
born anew a thousand times
each time unique without parallel
perfect
wrapping around your own reflection
as your shadow consumes itself
in the darkness of your own light
and in the light of your own darkness
you become one without separation
floating in yourself
a salty sea within a sea of clouds reflected in an eye
each folding into the other
oozing slowly like molasses
or running fast as heavy liquid gold
birthing out of each part of the other
and diving back into the same blissful abyss
a continuum of sighs
layered over in a divine skin sliding
like silk across a warm lake of fire without flames
screaming or silent
in motion or stillness
ever changing but always the same
never really new but always fresh
you reach for the finish that will not come
but eventually slice yourself apart
to become two again
two so you can see the both
and comprehend the beauty
of having been one
and the desire to be that again
perhaps calling this love
you might forget it is your essence
and nature

Love's Reason

Shall I the night recant?
Or could you reason why I shan’t?
For with such fever we did debate
How and where I steer my fate
And though above us you loftily slept
My quest for you we did inspect
A search for reason our peers embark
And so I examine my unyielding heart.
Within my mind the truth unveils
Liberating what my heart conceals
And so for them this list I write
To end any debate this night.

To begin: Kindness, Comfort, Passion, Fright,
Knowledge, Vigor, Truth and Light,
Sincerity, Simplicity, Humanity. Honesty
Benevolence, Joy, and a strength unfamiliar to me.
In addition: Laughter, love, and righteousness,
Fun, and Trusting with Wide eyed innocence.
To sum it up to those too blind,
A gentleness of Heart and mind.
So this is why I long for you
But I’m afraid these words won’t do.
For with these thoughts my tongue does bind
And my body does fall in line.
Until you awake from your sleep
And outstretch your heart for me to keep.

Lover of Eyes or ODE TO EYES

ODE TO EYES

Eyes

Hazel or Grey

The biting blue of ice bergs
     Breaking knives into the sea--
The thousand shades of green
That hide in shadowy golden lashes--
Brown cold as winter bark
    beside the frozen sea--
Black with fierce passion
    of a ship in silhouette
     Coming to the rescue.

Each enfolds a Splendor.
Beauty is magnified by its
mutability--

Eyes flash hot to cold
   Faster than a chemist's burner.
Provocative in timelessness,
Eyes can haunt forever, and forever they enslave--

Fortune, infamous for cruelty,
    Is kind in this respect--

Years do not diminish
The magnificence
Of
Eyes.

It was Never Enough

I just can’t believe it’s actually over. I loved him with all my heart. I was willing to sacrifice everything for him; my job, my family, my life here. I would have done it too. I would have moved there to be with him. It would have been worth it. Because to me, love is always worth it. I dreamed everyday he wasn’t ****ing here of him and I together. I would think of us constantly. All of what could be running through my head; our conversations, kissing, meeting, making love. I thought I knew what was to come. I was hopeful and excited for the future. I would count the months left until we could meet. I would count the money I had that would get me there. I would wait up for him at night and leave my phone next to me in the mornings. I sacrificed so much of myself, my time and my heart for him. And he doesn’t love me back.
I can’t believe I was so naïve and stupid. How did I actually let all of this happen? How did I not see the writing on the wall? It seems so clear now, so obvious he didn’t want me. But I didn’t care. I wanted him to want me, I wanted us I wanted love so badly I did everything in my power to keep him here. But it wasn’t enough. It was never enough.

She sits up high, up on the horse
And sweeps her hand along the coarse
White hide sticks to the hand of hers
Gently bounces, dressage, no spurs

Arches her back, her arms out straight
Trots along the length of the gate
Her body moves, one with the horse
Flow with the movement, with the force

Hair tosses, begin to canter
With grace she rides, grace rides with her
Hold back the reins, the horse he slows
And from their mouths, the breath it blows

Remove the saddle from his back
Carry it to the barn and stack
The warm horse-sweated saddle down
Tired smile, no room for frown

In that beautiful mouth yours
Like oceans crashing on the shores
And your eyes, they steal the sunset
Or the sunset, it stole your eyes

Night

night falls
wounded by the days' plight

night consumes
all the hopeful fractured splinters of light

night recedes
into its desolate lair

night extinguishes
the roaring furnace of despair

night hides
from a bubbling desire reaching out to feel

night flees
leaving the jilted to bow down and kneel

night soars
breaking the chains of isolation

night rots
in the cellars of time's vacuum of desolation

night devours
the travails of the day that has past

night mends
the wounds that once were doomed to last

night returns
faithfully as the day must retire

night settles
the doomed voices that mutter and conspire
night consoles
the weary mind and the restless heart so torn
night placates
knowing that night itself is darkest just before a new dawn

so

night freezes
all snapshots of the passing day

as

night embraces
the new while the old simply fades away

To Those Who Woo'd

Oh my friend I never saw
in your many cards so written
in all the dances when we were close
to know that you were smitten
as I look into my past
and those who would me woo
with the many letters here
I could not see you

Never once did I respond
to words that showed you care
though because I was afriad
and ne'er my heart to share
I apologize for being blind
to the world did I surrender
and to you for being kind
and kindness did not I render

As often times I think of you
and what life may have brought
Mayhaps if you had spoken true
and not kept in your thoughts
perhaps had you seen mine eyes
and the anguish dwelling there
who always saw the words as lies
my judgement wasn't fair

Now I can see the tenderness
the gently wooing you
and the effort you had strived
to make me see it too
I carry guilt for pains I caused
with scales mine eyes were closed
like water in a fingers grasp
Mine heart in still repose

More than twenty years have passed
I've had no time to think
to consider how you felt
till I could put to ink
the endless refusing of even a few
who deeply showed their care
To you all I apologize
in future amends I swear

Turn for the Worse

In the beginning
Things were so unreal
You were the ideal image
With monster sex appeal

You said you'd always be there
But what you've said is now a lie
Are you aware of the consequences
Your actions hold
Upon our bonded lives

A breaking of the chemistry
We took so long to build
Down playing this relationship
Into something never fulfilled

You were my four leaf clover
My lucky little charm
But
You've turned into a harlot
And caused nothing but harm

I'm at the bottom of this bottle
There may be some cause for alarm
Only finding comfort in
My friends Jack and Jim
Jettisoned into chaos
Where nobody can swim
Your selfishness is drowning me
You shouldn't have left on a whim

There you were
Just a blur
In the spur
Of the moment

A spontaneous rush
Of flushed confusion
An overwhelming lasting impression

This brief encounter
Bringing two strangers
A precious and a joyous sensibility
That's all too serene to be fiction

Effervescent euphoria
Permeates its way through the senses
Infiltrating effortlessly

Why did you have to go
And get on that plane

Now you're never coming home

My Fondness Of You

There's so much history
Of the many things
Said by you and me.

Reading on through:
The graying fondness
Begins returning to a colorful hue.

I'm trying to stop believing
In my own daydreaming.
Yet when I am missing you,
I then see my mind as deceiving.

In a way, you're of the few
Who makes an old wish of mine
Become real and true.

Was once far down in sorrow,
Yet through your concern
I became more hopeful
And happier thereafter.

You seem so ideal
When it comes to what one
May long for.

Yet inside your mind
There may only be a closed door.
If only somehow,
One could be made yours.

Funny how you are able to discern
Through how I seem to be feeling
While changing my typing to my moods,
And which personality I seem to be.

So easy you are, it's relieving
When I'm allowed letting out all these
Bottled and secretly-kept thoughts and feelings.

Always seem to be listening,
So kind of you to even like my singing.
Wonderfully genuine,
Or at least you say so truthfully.

How would life be for me
If I never met you.
Thinking of it, reading on through,
Who knows what'd I do
If neither of us knew me or you.

Honestly I admire how you are,
But my conscience's told me
That not even wishing on a shooting star
Could make the wish to fall with you become true.

I accept this decision of mine:
I'm choosing to believe we'll be friends
Thick and through even the boundaries of time.

After The Lust is Gone......

When a woman first meets a man,
He thinks she's the greatest invention
since sliced ham,

He adores her physical appearance,
The way she talks, laughs and giggles,
He even savors her fragrance,
There is never any talk of space or
room to wiggle,

Once the relationship becomes consummated,
her faults suddenly become illuminated,
The idiosyncracies he used to find charming,
become uncouth and alarming,

He repels her like a magnet,
and ignores her as if she were
an antiquated kitchen cabinet,

After the lust is gone,
a woman becomes an unnecessary
pawn,
The man no longer feels obligated
to be respectful,
All his negative ways get displayed,
He renounces being bashful,

The man picks the woman apart,
like a bird pecking his food,
Then it becomes clear,
his intentions were not good from the start,
He was just toying with her heart.......

Our Union

Our Union

My eyelashes bat
After meeting your gaze
From across a
Crowded subway haze.

My pupils dilate when they
Look back at you over dinner
Where we drank wine and ate.

My feet dance with glee as we
Fall hopelessly in love
In the midst of summer heat.

My heart splits apart
To become your wife
And your forever sweetheart.

My legs spread
Open to bare new life
And see your cheeks rosen.

My arms push
You away at night,
I'm too tired for a sex life.

My fists rage and tears pour,
When I discover your arms
Embracing another lover
After coffee one early morn.

My ears listen to
Your words of regret and
Pleads for a second chance
For things to be like
When we first met.

My fingers dial
Seeking third party counsel
To repair our shattered union.

My brain waves
Shift to understand your
Thoughts and your feelings,
While I bitterly convey my own.

My hand re-opens
To forgive your sins
And make amends.

My lips part to
Receive your kiss in the
Night in a sea of
Skin in our warm bed.

My heart flutters,
We’ve truly become one,
Years after we bore our son.

Ashes

Savage lies, mercilessly spoken,

battering emotions, a heart exposed, nakedly open,

companionship was all that was sought,

not blue-chip bonds, hastily sold and bought.

The bonds I sought were simple,

peaceful nights, scribbling verse in unseen black,

delicately caressing words of love, my fingers tracing poems, over the contours of your soft back.

It saddens me to say, my thoughts were dreamed in vain,

and it grieves me see, the ashes of our love,

floating down the streets we walked,

scattered in the rivulets of this night’s pouring rain.

Alone I scribble this paltry verse,

the darkest of nights, in the midst of howling storms,

and though I may heal some day,

the memory of the ashes of our love,

floating down the streets we once walked,

shall remain buried deep,

until my dying day

Wicked and Wild

Notice how your standards have have doubled?
past perception reveals correction when strong minds are troubled.

Ah yet mind cannot travel without spirit, and though you hear it,
doubtful if God's ship presented you would even steer it.

Take note where your fruit starts growing,
for the root provides heart with knowing.

Doubtful you will relocate any time near,
the more blurry your vision the further mine clears.

Its simple to smile when justifying like a child.
that impression of regression leaves you wicked and wild.

Will He Be

Will he be my lover...
Will he be my friend...
Will he be the one who's with me...
to the very end.

Will he be the one...
who tells me
that I'll always be his Queen...
that I possess the greatest beauty...
of any woman he's ever seen.

Will he be the one...
that puts the light back in my eyes...
to make them sparkle and glimmer,
Will he be the one to dispense
with all life's lies.

Will he be the one to hold me...
forever and a day...
Will he be the one to love me...
as if every month were May.

Will he be the one to comb back
my hair
and hold it in his hand

Will he be the one
to whisper to me
sweetly in my ears...

Will he be the one that I'll always want
that I'll forever want to be near.

Will he be the one
whose reflections...
alway make me think anew...
who makes me a better person...
who never makes me blue.

Will he be my vision..
of all I'll ever want
that I'll want to remain forever
as two combined into one.

Will his very memory..
always occupy my mind
Will my thoughts and dreams of him
Hauntingly resonate,
until the end of time.

Changes Part Two - November

I'm looking around - a year has passed,
The moment I seized is forever to last,
The secrets of cherished November
Still live in the imprints of soft fingertips
You left on my key, in your eyes that eclipse
The various colors of amber.

The waters of changes surround my shore,
The eyes of the suburbs see right to the core,
Respond to my heart's aspiration.
Eternity lingers in love's every breath,
And it is my place from November till death,
My shelter, my sweet isolation.

It's plain and it's simple - I have understood
That I will keep writing this story for good
And send you mysterious letters.
Discover the worlds that my verses create
For you to unravel and investigate,
Just keep them, and nothing else matters.

Liberating Arts

To what end art,
or music, or poetry,
but to frame a moment
and simply see something
of that moment itself,
ineffably ordinary and peculiar;
her seamed and wrinkled face,
a silence broken to uneven lengths,
the exact expression of love -
and in that moment have revealed
something you hide from yourself,
an ability to remove the frame
and still see the beauty

Aching to Ache

Clawing into myself,
digging, scraping, scratching a phantom itch.

…

Amputating feelings, thoughts, emotions,

love,

always excising love,

…

to feel some pain,
for once, to feel the ache, the heartbreak, the anger, the desolation, the loss, the pangs of remorse,

to feel anything at all,

not this numbness,
these tattered synapses, this innured state of anaesthetised unfeeling, the brittle thoughts that shatter, painless, when I stumble and crash, and fall.

…

I ache for the ache, pining to pine, hungering to hunger, bleeding fragments of myself, only to bleed, to feel,

alive,

again…

Tonight, I Cried

Tonight I cried.

My mind wandered, it floated away from me.

Unable to sleep, I went searching for things not meant to be seen.

As my eyes danced across words, a pretty painted picture,

My heart was torn into little pretty pieces.

Words that described a love so great,

Words that were written by such a hopeful heart...

Words painted for someone else,

Words painted for her.

Time has passed by so quickly since,

Much has taken place to have those words replaced.

Tonight my mind wandered, it floated away from me.

Unable to sleep, I went searching for things not meant to be seen.

Memories flood back in from where I was before,

The good, the bad, the great, the ugly,

All pooling around me, on the floor.

So much pain and darkness,

Replaced with joy and sunshine...

But when would he ever be, just first mine?

When his name is at my lips,

I don't want to think of the heartache thats led him here...

The arms that may or may not have held him before...

But to think of him as a whole, and not fragments of a soul.

Tonight I cried.

Because my heart is sad, and it's still not whole.

There's the saddness brought with not knowing if I bring him that much joy,

There's the brokeness of never feeling perfect enough or good enough,

No matter what he says.

There's the dread of not being able to say for certain

That he's happy enough to stay.

Feeling overwhelmed with a heavy heart,

But a heart full of love.

So many burdens and yet so much care,

How does such a fragile little thing,

Have so much it can stand to bare?

Tonight, I cried.

Is lucky to find,
Because it resembles
Two hearts that
Form one mind.

The Field

I am waiting
In the field
For you to find me
The whispers of the wind
To guide
But you will not catch me
You will not sweep me
From the ground
You will not leave me
Either
The night has come
And you stand
Above me
Gaping, at my sorrow
You do not know
Who
 I
Am
But you know
The nonsense
Of the self
Always wanting
Seething for something
Unreachable
You are not the One
I long for
But you will do
For now
You will do
It is hard to say
Why
A simple word
I listen for the answer
But it never comes
The wind roars
Through the brush
And trees
But they do not answer
They snicker
As I weep
For my loss
I want the warmth
The immense comfort
Of life
Therefore you
Will
Not
Do
I have decided
You are not
What I seek
You are
A reminder
Of what I have lost
Your warmth
Is lukewarm
Your touch
Shallow and steel
You let me loose
I will gladly go
Away from this nonsense
Away from the silence
Of waiting
Of wanting
Hoping there is
End
You are hopeless
You are also
Sweet and civil
But I will not
You do not need me
And I surely
Do not want you
Need and want
In this field
Are the same
Need equals
Want
Want equals
Need
But you are neither
What I want
Or what I need
I am
Not want I want
I am
Not what I need
My attempts to calm
My fragile nerves
In this silence
Torture
I am not enough
But you are
No longer listening
You are not gaping
Or waiting
Or wanting
You are gone
And I am not
But still
We are not sufficient
You are not
And I am not
So, who are we?
Where are we?
The field is
Fading
And I am
Alone
Whispering to
Mocking
Winds

Let's go back

Let's go back

Back to the beginning

Back to when we used to laugh and smile

Back to when we hadn't shared a kiss

Back to when I didn't spend my nights by the phone waiting for you to call

Back to when we were young

Back to when we first begun

Back before we ever fought

Back to when I first said "Yes"

Back so I can start again

Back so I could say "No"

Back so I wouldn't be hurting now

Back before you broke my heart

Back before I gave you my all

Back before I let you in

Becasue,

Now we never laugh or smile

Now our kisses mean nothing but wasted time

Now I lock myself in my room dreading every phone call

Now i'm not as young and I feel like your babysitter

Now all we do is fight

Now that I gave you my all I have nothing left to give

Now that I let you in I don't feel safe

Now my hear is broken

Now I can't stop crying

Now I feel like a piece of trash

I'm so sorry to have hurt you

It's really not you it's me

I am nothing as of now

I feel like I'm about to drown

I don't want to feel like this

I don't know what else to do

I just know I cannot be with you.

For You

The day I met you,
I at first saw you as strange.
But then, later in time,
I realized that it's just your disguise.

I never felt so lucky
Before you said you loved me.
There aren't many guys in the world
Who don't despise looks.
Yet you are the one who seems the most true.

Maybe deep down, I love you too...
And I'm not sure why
I stopped you from suicide.

I guess I just want others to follow
The guiding light that always helped me through.
Although I think that,
You say that I'm probably in love with you.

If that is really true,
Then I can't handle hearing your voice,
Life as if your feelings for me
Are forcing me to love you without a choice.
I can't even handle such love,
At least not yet.

For now I just want to keep my bets of me
Finding another person.
And I don't find anyone like you,
Then I'll become yours
Just for you...

Vacuum

Callously discarding,

talismans of heart and soul,

hastily scorching all bridges,

in a supernova burying me whole,

retreating into emptiness,

no salvation to be found,

sins too many to absolve,

drowning, in a freshly
dug hole in the cold ground.

Hollow, empty, barren desolation closes in,

asphyxiating me,

within the walls of my dismal room,

sinking into the abyss,

disappearing, fading, lost forever,

inside an emotionless,

vacuum

River of Sorrow Take Me at Last

(River of Sorrow) Take Me At Last

What did I tell you, love of mine
I said I was jaded but trying to find
Cracks in this wall, a small ray of light
Feeling the pain of my feet on this path
Watching the world as it has a good laugh

Lines of the scars you read on my wrist
Don't make a big deal now, think nothing of this
They're just maps of pain, roads that I've passed
Being a fool in the cogs of belief
Just like Barrabas, caught like a thief

And so I bring not a thing to the table
I thought you should know I've emptied my glass
I hold neither hope for nor fear of tomorrow
River of sorrow, take me at last
Take me at last

Whatever fuels you is draining me
A master of puppets you turned out to be
Standing beside you, it's like I'm alone
I know that there's darkness getting too thick
The cage door is closing, I've got to move quick

And so I bring not a thing to the table
I thought you should know I've emptied my glass
I hold neither hope for nor fear of tomorrow
River of sorrow, take me at last
River of sorrow, take me at last

White On White

Blank papers of bitter today
Do treasure the words white on white;
If they are forbidden to say,
Then my privilege is to write.

I choke on the poison I've drunk,
The root of my love is in grief;
I'm learning the foreigners' tongue
To perpetuate my belief.

The strength of my weakness denies
The myth only half proven true;
The lines that I can't recognize
One day were composed by you.

The sequel could come to an end,
But sanity claims it's too late,
I take all the pain to defend
The worlds my illusions create.

She Can See

She can see...
that he cries within
that his exterior edge
hides a lover from within.

She continues to see him
in a whole new light...
She loves him completely
and with delight.

She comforts him
and lets him know
that the past is the past
and that he should let it go.

She understands him freely
and she can trully see
what he is right now
and what he could be.

She sees him and she knows him...
and she sees that he cries within...
and that his tough exterior
hides all the hurts within.

She knows she holds the keys
to unlocking all his doors...
to unfolding his mind...
to making him more...

And she knows him almost better
than he used to know himself...
because she sees his image
reflected in herself.

And she knows that he knows her
better than she thought...
and the fact he knows her better
than she knows herself
makes her love him all the more...

And he knows that she loves him...
more with each passing day...
He knows that shes been waiting for him...
for all of her earthly days.

The Circus of Love

Come one, Come all
To the Circus of Love
We accept all comers
Try to win a White Dove.

It really doesn't matter
If you've been here before
Enter to the left folks
Step right through that open door.

Once is usually never enough
to appeciate Love's Center Attraction
Its sometimes takes more than several acts
to find true pleasure and satisfaction.

You can attend throughout your lifetime
You can be assured you'll never be bored
The Circus makes no loving promises
You'll have no idea what's in store.

Experience the strangest and oddest sights
that you'll ever before have seen
Feel deep heartfelt emotions
You'll have no idea or clue as to what they mean.

Juggle all of your emotions
Sometimes difficult, and sometimes with ease
Fly to your hearts highest plateau
on overwhelming Desire's flying trapeeze.

Mount Passion's lusty White Horse
With a certain strength of gallentry
Balancing daring affections
From deep within one's stormy seas.

Laugh and cry hysterically
With Life's most enamoring of madeup clowns
Delivering a plethora of both joy and tears
In Love's loony escapade of grins and frowns.

Dare to crack and fling your heart's amorous whip
Face the wildest of Venus' Beasts
Ride the gentlest of Eros' Elephants
Though in size and scale they are not of the least.

Get shot with Cupid's Arrow
Fly from a cannon through the air
Attempt all liasions without a doubt
There's never a life's moment ever to spare.

Beauty

1
Beauty holds meaning too many.
There is beauty in all.
Beauty is captured by eyes.
Love is true beauty forever.
Bonding two in glorious bliss,
Love is captured by the heart.
Enriched by the spirit,
Held in sync by touching,
2
Nature’s beauty is in all seen.
Embodiment, collectively,
In all stages of structure
Spring, summer, autumn and winter
Amazing venues of events,
Each with beauty their own,
Empowering the next
Phase of magnetism.
3
What and who knows real true beauty.
Beauty to one is another’s,
Ugliness they cannot stand.
Eyes to eyes make a connection.
Heart to heart a bond forever
Mind to mind develops goal
Beauty of the soul guides
All couples, so serene.

Waiting

I still wait for you
the end was unsatisfying and empty
I can't leave you in the past
no matter how I try
your are still a part of me
I have cried my tears for you
and tried to burn your memory from my brain
but nothing works
your are still with me
I can feel your fingertips move softly over me
and your breath on the back of my neck
continues to make me burn
As my eyes close I see you above me
every dream is filled with your image
I still feel safe in your arms
as they wrap around me
not seen only felt
good or bad you are the other half of my soul
the one I have been looking for my entire life
I love you still
I will see you again in my next life
and we will be together
no complications

To Endure a Thorn

Life is garden full of various fauna.

There will be brush that appeals to the touch and other vegetation that appeal to the other senses.

You will find flowers with the most intoxicating of fragrances. Witness flowers with the most beautiful of petals.
You will hear the buds come to blossom. Here you will taste the most exotic and comforting of nectars.

But the rose you seek will have the most thorns.
This rose is called joy.
But to hold this rose means one must endure its thorns.

We must ignite the passion that can melt away the pain and rekindle the flame so it’s warmth can dry our eyes and rid us of all our previous shame.

We do this all to hold a rose, spend restless nights , shed tears, feel scorned,
....all to endure a touch of a thorn.

The Wild One

Oh mythical creature
Ringed in glorious hair…

Eyes so bright
Nostrils flared
Lips which so dare
One might compare
To words ever unspoken.

The winds of change
Seem tame
As opposed to her.

There is a wildness to her vision…
And you can tell that she
Has never been possessed
Or held, by just one lover…

And she will not succumb
To just anyone.
She is she, herself, the one…

The Wild One.

longing

it's now the descending afternoon
of some cold February Sunday
I, on the couch, read my book
as lowered sun glints on its pages

my mind however is upon you
and I think how great t'would be
to be spooned together, here now
under covers, dressed up lightly

for me to put my hand upon you
feel you warm within my palm
and you, to turn unafraid and smile
wishing only that I go further on

Loneliness

When loneliness pierces your heart like a thorn,
When memories seem to replay all your past,
When some contradictory feeling is born
To remnants of love that was not meant to last,
Your temple of hope is about to fall,
The shade of your sun is about to fade,
The wheel of your life is reluctant to roll,
It feels like a permanent dance on the blade.

You search for the answer in every small sign,
You trust every symbol, you wish on a star,
You drown your grief in a glass of mulled wine
You two used to drink in the same cozy bar.
You find the salvation in bittersweet lies,
In fact, it is clear like a crystalline ball:
Just look at yourself with your destiny's eyes,
You'll see love has never existed at all.

About Me

Well you have picked a subject; I do not like to talk about anytime.
However, here goes what I think about and try to live by, in my days.
I was not liked well and I was shy, a real loner in my prime.
I know I think way to much, all the time, every minute, in many ways.
I am quiet, except when I get to know you, my secrets I never tell.
My feelings I keep to myself, only letting them out in poetry accounts.
My life mostly, made up of work, whether on the job, or home as well.
I am a complicated man; so deep, my split personality mounts.
I feel my heart is pure, though I know I am a sinner, I try my best.
I have had many friends, but never any best friends, that have been forever.
However if you are a close friend to me, I will give you all my total zest.
All my poetic words I recognize, they flow from my muse, who is clever.
I love the simple things in life, and live to love my mate with all my might.
I hate laziness, deceitful people; I believe the New Testament is the only right.

Brittle Love

So last night, I had the most epic sad love poem. Like, it make my heart ache. The thing was, the pen was over on the other side of the room, and I didnt want to lose the thought. Guess what, I lost the thought. And now I want it back. Now, I wanna recreate it. I need help with that. Here's what I have, I want ideas, comments, help, editing, everything.

I’m fragile and ill And you trace my scars Like the one the doctor gave me For asking if he could help my heart ache ‘Cause both of us know how close to death Love really brings you But you hold me together as we use Cupid’s arrow to slit our wrists And use the sheets that held us To cover us from the world we leave Praying together that our funeral will be pretty When we run away to paradise together We have sinned all we want, Whispered to God all the details But you know more about me then God ‘Cause God doesn’t know our names And we know sin lets us feel his ignorance ‘Cause I know you’re the one that created me And you’ll take me apart the same way And I’m fine with that.

Ms Oh Ms

Ms oh Ms.
How much of a gentleman because of you I’ve turned into.
Ms because of you I’ve become so thankful.

But It would be irresponsible of me to let my emotions
get the best of my judgment and condone you.
It would be selfish on my part to not allow rationality
and only my sentimentality to reach closure upon this issue.

This relationship consisted of 2.
Just like in biblical scriptures, in pairs.
Not even branches wish to be bare.

So here goes the naked truth...

I played my part; you played me for a fool.
Even if I were synthetic, lifeless and used to work the land,
by the hands of the blue collar man,
I couldn’t feel any more like a mere tool.

Now what used to be conversations has turned into a tedious dialogue.

What a twisted plot this story has become.
I mind your mind.
Not even Mother Nature could’ve created such opaque smog.

But I guess what occurred is now more than visible.

I wore my heart on my sleeve just to be closer to you.
Little did I know what breaking routine would get me into.

But I won’t let chivalry decline.
I’m still feeling like the captain..... of a sunken ship.

How wonderful our story , how dreaded the ending.

Ms. oh Ms.
But I won’t hate you , nor will I forgive you,
I’ll simply forget you… Ms.

Black Rose

I continue to find myself in a pensive state of mind.
Giving time more time.
Even worse, i'm wasting time thinking of the time I've wasted.
Letting thoughts untwine reminessing of the passions tasted.

Here I stand a man with no set destination.
No guides no plan , no helping hand.
Just heroes for who I show admiration.

Just another try to ignite the spark, to set the blaze so I can with stand the fire.
Just another chance to form iron from this ire.

All these thoughts that have been written down left unread.
So hard to forget the words never spoken.
How easy it is to admire the lies that are so token.
How delightful it is that hearts gravitate towards another when broken.

These forms and ideas together they untwine.
How each dark thought sprouts in the night.
How the black rose blooms in the lack of light.

Governance

"Men are governed by lines of intellect,
women by curves of emotion" *

or

might I have it incorrect
and really mean to say

that

men are governed by women's curves,
and women by men's lines.

© Goode Guy 2011-06-17

* misquote of James Joyce actually from
Oscar Wilde's "An Ideal Husband" -
"A woman's life revolves in curves of emotions.
It is upon lines of intellect that a man's life progresses."

OFTEN ARE THE TIMES

Are you awake?
Are you asleep?
Do you remember, and sometimes weep?

Do you smile now?
Does your voice sing?
Do you remember, you wore my ring?

Was our love right?
Was our love true?
Do you remember, how we were two?

Are you happy...
In the life you chose?
Do you remember, I held you close?

Often are the times, I think of you...

Often are the times, I wish I knew...

Often are the times, Often are the times...

Often are the times, I am still with you.

Recollections

This is what I remember
When I think of you
It's as if I'm flying
Limitless unbound

Lifted spirits
Dilated eyes
Quintessential love

I envision those flowers
So perfectly placed in your hair
As we dance the night away

Forgetting all that is wicked
Relief beyond belief
Memories of evenings shared
Staring at the stars
Enthralled by precious moon lit skies
Those next mornings
And the way your eyes
Appear the second you awaken
Soft smiles between us both
As your genuine heart
Radiates oh so immensely

Completely sharing
These special moments
Committed to sharing equal roles
Getting a chance to explore
And discover
What you really want in life

That was my chance
But I blew it

Should have seized
And fully absorbed
Those times as precious
As those cozy
Refreshing mornings

Cause for Concern

Your psychological state
Is deflating you straight
Into irrelevance
At an astounding rate

Awaiting for you
To create these irate
Collection of interrelating debates

Negating the fact
That you cannot retract
Nor subtract
The impacts of your exact
Overreactions that always distract
Which can flare-up abruptly
And detach what's intact

Now by not letting up
You corrupt and disrupt
Any developments made
Every time you erupt

I'm inclined to remind you
That your narrow mind's due
To pursue other avenues
If you so choose
You cannot undo
What you've said that's untrue
Are you beginning to seek love anew
With no regard to your lover's point of view
By wanting to have
A slew of rendezvous
