Elephant Leg

There’s a part of you
I cannot see or touch.

In the dark, alone, I know
every curve of your body.
I could sculpt you from memory.
Each detail vivid in
my mind’s eye.

The baby nail on your baby toe.
This neck that takes to kissing.
I know the moment when your
hip becomes belly.
Just there.

But there’s a part of you I
cannot see or touch. Hidden, I want to
know it all the more.
Behind your eyes, inside
your heart, that essential
you, separate from this
fragile tissue hanging, draped, over bone.

I watch you move when
you’re not looking.
Standing, your toes curling.
Twisting the end of your hair while thinking.
Asleep, I know your breathing.
You hold the morning cup like a chalice.
Little lines around your eyes deepen sometimes.

These things are pieces of a whole I ache to know.
This elephant leg obscured by sightless eyes can
be anything. Groping blindly toward
the totality of you, revealed in fits and starts.

This life of mine no longer turned inward.
Every day I have new discoveries to make.

Certifiable Kiss

I have enough time
Yes 'cause love's alive and baby in its prime
Oh it is just like
Success ain't fun and games but for the saint's life

Yeah he'll pray but maybe Hell'll hit
Faithfully turn off the safety
Baby Cupid shoots shells with hollow tips
He'll lose an eye and they'll think he's crazy so
We'll say it gave him a gift
Baby the trait of a certifiable kiss

Girl I see you have more than usual
Yeah even before you visualize the visible
With a noble temper, mature and golden in a
A higher temperature than a crucible's molten innards

But there's a secret to your strategy
And it's a tragedy 'cause darling you had to be
So naturally keen at dodging me

And it's a line of defense
And girl you make a fence
So girl I take offense

Oh I know it's cliché but yeah they say that great men make it in-
To places few others who even do take the risk've ever been

But the only one in my blood that
That doesn't shine like the sun it
It naturally has to be the one where
I refuse to call it a pun when
I call you up to call you the one, there's

A secret to your strategy
And it's a tragedy 'cause darling you had to be
So naturally keen at dodging me

And it's a line of defense
And girl you make a fence
Hence I take offense

Oh to ward off Hell to reach towards Heaven
You play the chords
You make me insane but maybe I'll give you your credit
Oh to ward off Hell to reach towards Heaven
You play the chords
You make me insane but baby I'll give you your credit

My Baby

A gift like no other gift,
one that can't be bought
a precious human being,
deserving the right to live
to exist as we all do,
but sometimes it just doesn't
happen that way,

A baby of no harm,
a baby of no sins
a baby of pure love,
and only innocence

Tender moments,
carrying wishes
disappointments,
everyday misses

Sitting there all alone,
even though
I was surrounded,
by others

While wondering,
why it may be
that I am made to suffer,

Wanting nothing more,
but to die
inside and out,

Things happen for a reason,
so I was taught
I'll never know the reason,
but I'll always feel the loss

The loss of my child,
my baby was taken
away from me,
and there is no reason

I constantly ask myself,
why did this happen?
what did I do wrong?

I asked God to save my baby,
to protect us both
I remain here,
but my baby is gone

It seems as if, my whole world,
just fell apart
and all I could do,
was sit back and watch it happen

I found myself,
feeling lonely
needing someone,
anyone to hold me

All I could do was cry,
I had to cry, for the sake of myself
for the sake of my baby,
for the sake of my heart
I had to weep

I cried and cried aloud,
hoping to be heard
please father,
I'll do whatever you want
you have my word,
just please save my baby

I bled so much,
had so much pain
denied to myself,
everything would be okay

Crying and pleading,
praying and weeping
became an everyday routine,
it was so hard to believe
this was happening to me,

It's not over yet,
it never will be
everyday and every night,
it's in my memory...

(March 1998)
My sweet baby
you will always be with me...

ELEGY TO LOST CHILD

                                        Elegy to Child Lost

                                 Passion's love oft tempts despair
                                 Casts a prideful cosmic dare--
Like Prizing Joy's most intimate caress
Babe snug beneath a mother's breast

Senses at this time are keen
                                There's no secret kept between
                                Loving mother, wriggling babe--
Wanted , dreamed of, much delayed
But entwined twin was also loved--
                                Some say Nature's method proves
That one twin may give all to mate---
But this fatal sacrifice must decimate.

Only mother's eyes would feel babe's smiles--
or sense those legs that wandered miles
And daring feet that danced in tunes while
Arms swam in gentle Celtic croons.

                                When babe vanished--not a sound.
Mother 's grief was not allowed.
                                Tempted so to trail behind
                                Escaping shattered troubled mind.

                                Squelching sorrow's hungry arms
She Tried erase babe's fluttering charms
                                Never spoke of-- never mourned.
By her husband she was warned
Was best forget a child so early lost--
                                Funerals, gravestones--such a cost--

But the years have called babe near,
                                Mother's journal writ in tears:
                                'Please forgive my selfish heart.
Repressed from all --this tragic part
                                I felt your sacrificial act--
You left your cherished twin intact'.

There is no law of random acts
                                Doctors examine data facts
It may be --that in the womb
When both spring flowers cannot bloom
One bold twin refrains to eat
                                Compels the other to complete
                                Hardy growth that life requires---
                                Sparks survival's crucial hours.

                                Not an accident 'tis sure--
                                Boldest spirits blossom pure.

A Dirty Basement Room

A Dirty Basement Room In a dirty basement room a baby cries Weakened mother was defiled Forced my law to birth a child Upon a dirty pillow she lies In a dirty room the mother dies Mother and son soon reconciled Victims of government gone wild A time to live a time to die Angry rapist walks streets free Will they listen to her plea? In a dirty basement room a baby cries Angry rapist runs streets free In a dirty basement room mother dies Will they listen to her plea?

The fear of life

The fear of life.

For nine months in warm sweet world
I float there peacefully
Then cast into that birth canal
It kind of frightens me
I feel I’m suffocating
And I don’t know what it is
Too soon I enter crazy world
Far from the gardens bliss.

As light comes shining everywhere
The panic settles in
This world is filled with action
And so much awful din
I feel like I’m in trouble
Yet there’s naught that I can do
It seems this place is crazy
That I’ve been cast into.

Then as I grow from babyhood
And listen to the lies
That all these madmen tell me
Cause they’re not very wise
It seems that something’s wrong with me
My life it feels off key
So the only question on my mind
Is ‘What is wrong with me???’

WHO AM I BY NAME ALONE

written 10th Aug 2013

I am God's child, first and forever
I am known by many different titles, a daughter
I am a wife
I am a mother
I am a grandmother
I am a poet
I am by several ways, known as a sister
I am an acquaintance
I am a loyal friend
I am a stranger
I am a cousin
I am an Auntie
I am a niece
But who is this person, they all call "Denise?"

She is a child to God
She is a niece
She is a cousin
She is a stranger
She is a loyal friend
She is an acquaintance
She is known to many, a sister
She is a poet
She is a grandmother
She is a mother
She is a wife
She is known as a daughter to many
She is everything, she'd ever dreamed her life to be....
She is happier than she ever imagined possible
SHE IS "DENISE"

Death Undignified

The summer sun was high. The heat was oppressive.
A whalebone corset dug into my body's tender parts.
Peering from the shop, my hand touches the pane
of dearly brought glass it vibrates with the hoof-beat of riders.
The weak, blue-sky pales, clouding over with the dust.
Children playing hoop, let it drop with an unheard clatter.

Inside Fort Laramie’s provisioner, Mrs. Dreary's dropped-plate clatters.
Outside, a thunder of hoofs race pell-mell through heat, oppressive.
“Indians!” Children run through the street's miasma of dust.
Folks in wagons and on horseback flee for other parts.
“Sioux,” I nod. Gunshots ring through the air savaging the riders.
The shopkeeper’s wife babe in arms runs up the stairs, baby screams in pain.

Arrow flights buzz by shattering the shop's window panes.
The Indians leap from horse back to tile roof raising a clatter.
Mr. Dreary reaches for his Sharp shooter and aims at the riders.
A cat’s eye marble falls from the toy display, a mundane oppression.
Dreary slams shut the door, shards of glass scatter, bullet parted.
“Mame, git away from that window! Gener’l Connor’ll kill me if y’ur dusted.”

My eyes, now black and hollow as a barn owl's, tear, full of dust.
“Damn heathens,” Mr. Dreary cusses as bullets fly through broken panes.
He pulls me behind him and opens the useless glass door. “Thop” an arrow parts
his scalp. He falls back, landing beside me,his spurs clattering.
The baby screams again. I turn to see Mrs. Dreary's oppressive
grip on the child. “He’s dead.” She says grabs the Sharp and kills the next rider.

The soldiers finally arrive and chase the mongrel band of riders.
Mrs. Dreary, babe in one arm, Sharp in the other, kicks the marble in the dust.
She walks through the door, out of one carnage into another type of oppression,
the soldiers are executing the Sioux braves. Children watch in pain.
Across the street a lone warrior perches. A roof tile clatters
to the dirt. His arrow flies and a soul is parted.

Falling with blind numbness, forward, down, parting
the water in the horse trough left for the riders.
My brass buttons and flint arrowhead scrape the tub clattering,
no one in the street notices my departing in the day's dust.
My open mouth fills with bile and the rancid taste of pain.
“How improper,” was my last lucid thought, truly oppressive.

A clatter of hoofs rocks my parting.
The oppression, of man against man leaves, with the riders.
Only dust and the pain of the living remain.

Why do We do What we do do do

Where, oh where, is God?
When will the man child stop …asking why
stop searching [endlessly] for the other, the greater, the bigger
the more glorious presence.

This constant need to see other than oneself as the source.
Even with a brain [and we know Frank Baum has told us
only STRAW men don’t have brains] we refuse to SEE,
refuse like a baby forced to eat mashed peas.
We make our children…are we their God’s? Hell no!

We name this Creator… for man is nothing if not a naming being…
[The father says DA..the baby says DA! Daddy says cat, baby says CAT!]
It cannot exist for us without a naming, a judgment, a categorizing..
We cannot GROK it [as Heinlein Christ character, Valentine Michael Smith
illustrates for us in Stranger in a Strange Land].
For something, someone, has to have made us, yes? no?
Oh yes, and they had to consciously decide to make
something as marvelously special as us, didn’t they? it?
* Please referr back to verse 2 line 5.

Where oh where is God? When will the man child stop,
stop searching for the teat, stop the blame game,
accept the responsibility for fouling His own nest.

Why does God have to look like us?
Does everything we create look like us? [The light bulb, the car? poo?]
Does that mean there is NO prime genitor if He/she/it doesn’t look like us?
Wait..wait..all of Creation manifests differently, eco systems need diversity to
maintain homeostasis!
Yet we bawl…like babies..WHY are You killing me!
Why must I die? What mutant child have you given me
this spawn of Satan!

This prime genitor, this God, this be all, end all, know all, BEING,
this omnipotent source either is outside or us? or inside of us?
or we are inside of it? And if it knows us not …
If like the amoeba, it simply divides to exist, absorbs to exist, excretes to exist.
Why do we insist on worshiping it? Does it Know us?
Does it know all of its creations including man?
Is it an active participant in its own creations?
Refer to the book of life, the planet earth, the solar system,
the structure of an atom …
Use the brain you were given
for YOU are not a Straw Man.

Birth of a Poet

The animals know better than us. The rain has never poured so loudly in a key so soft.
To the front, the sailing of city buses and mini vans cruising across in this weather makes the water underneath their tires sound like the street is crying out for 5 more minutes of sleep. Up above, the trees are protecting a nest of baby blue jays before they get washed away by the silence of their mother not being there. But with sky blue young spirits, and small empty stomachs, they keep hope alive in the fact that even children know storms and struggles don’t last forever.
Below the trees, nature has found a name to call it’s own. From the hole dug by the little boy next door, a family of three foxes have named human nature sanctuary, and burrowed their problems into the sediment to rest for a while.
To the side of the hole, a flock of ducks are swimming in the water with eyes open wide enough to where you can see their loyalty to love one another rushes wild.
To the right of the pond, caged up in a man made blanket, and lost in his own mind, is the boy. From what he remembers, last night was like a train accident; A head on collision of two people he could’ve sworn he saw holding hands just the other day. He hears the sound of plates shattering in C-minor, and the chorus of words that his parents screamed in F-sharp, so he imprisoned himself in his own bed sheets, accompanied by the courageous corduroy bear who he swears keeps hearing whisper “everything will be okay.”
It’s raining outside, and the crescendos of screams have been silenced by it’s peaceful security.
The boy, sleeps soundly now. The rain has protected his ears, and guarded his heart from being washed away by all of his nightmares.
He doesn’t care whether he wakes up. The baby blue jay, the resourceful fox and the brave little duck are all he wants to keep dreaming about.
Maybe he’ll run away into the rain? Or maybe into the arms if his mother?, whom he prays he can still recognize. To the left of his bed, he picked up the blank page of his coloring book and a crayon, and became a life long poet in that moment that morning. Taking a deep breath in, and giving a soft breath out, his first sentence was
“The animals know better than us.”

Last night I dreamt

Last night I dreamed

The dream I had was all in white
As pure as driven snow
And the whiteness of it all
Did bring me down quite low
There was something very scary there
In the whiteness of it all
The sameness there in everything
Kind of drove me up the wall.

I looked into the neighbours yard
As the sun was shining bright
I heard an infant screaming loud
There bathed within the sunlight
Was parked a pram upon the lawn
Which glowed with mystery
My mother’s passion was aroused
I took a look to see

I peeped into that pure white pram
A babe was lying there
All swaddled in a pure white shawl
Just white was everywhere
The whole wide world, Was beamed in light
It was a scary feel
I found myself in corridors
This place it seemed unreal.

Each corridor was long and winding
Like serpents, in my dream
And everywhere were locked, white rooms
This place to me it seemed
Like a hospital, insane asylum
Or something of this kind
I just ran round, and round, and round
With panic in my mind.

I could not find my room at all
And every one I asked
Just looked at me with blank expressions
It was a mammoth task
Trying to find where I was at
It almost drove me mad
And then I saw my. Daughter there
And boy! this made her glad.

She handed me the baby
And told me loudly “Take it”
And then I woke up from my sleep
It made me think a bit
As to what this dream was all about
It was the strangest dream
I’d love to get into my mind
And find out what it means.

LOVE AND THE PRUDENT MIND

LOVE AND THE PRUDENT MIND

How can passion nab a prudent mind
Heartless and unrelenting sorrow
Passion which
Haunts across seas
Crazes uncharted through widow making mountains

Shadows its prey
day by day from scent of soap to toothpaste caps
Sleepless nights in strangers beds—The vows once took cannot be shed

How can love annex a prudent mind
Diligently plodding through piles of work
Jump between the lines and ink
like a rapist scare
to catch the victim unaware

Heartless and relentless sorrow
Years refine the passion fire
Body aches for vanished scorching touches
Heartless and relentless sorrow
Like a bird she fled the skies
But longs in secret for the midnight flight return

A Bubble Blown Up With Breath

I will tell of love in fourteen short lines
Remember when you chipped bone in kneecap
So much pain for you and me nothing fine
Knee pain for you for me nausea trap

You had surgery, nausea had me
One baby in arms another womb bound
When you came home, total care you no glee
Beside chamber nausea vomit round

Daily existence for weeks ugly trap
Baby, husband's care between nausea
Holding baby my only relief gap
Situation had me deep undersea

Love is deep when one gives beyond their strength
Giving beyond the call of duty is youngth

Generation XXX

Generation XXX
(Another Name for Gen Y(My Generation)

Beer goggles and Whiskey Rivers,
Pain numbing remedies that exude depression,
Marijuana oxygen and pain killer shivers,
Innocent faces with devilish expression,
Blood red eyes with cocaine explanations,
White lies, cooked up in haste,
For the aforementioned, sell your feelings for a taste!

Young lady, young lady, impossible to find,
What has become of “Daddy’s Little Girl?”
Grew up as billboard, all body and no mind,
Succumbed to degradation just to fit in this world,
Princess? No More!
With bitter wounds and sans support,
Responds to “bxxch” labeled as “whore”
Sex for poison and sex for sport!

Young man, young man, could you bear to walk alone?
With choreographed legs and clay molded spine?
Quoting the majority, speaking with your friends’ tone,
Holding onto shirttails while blindly disregarding lines,
Unprotected sex just to help you feel alive,
Forced to buy diapers with the pennies you have earned,
From one into intoxicated night you did not want to be deprived,
Came a baby by a girl whose name you had to learn!

Young lady, Young man, both working like a slave,
To provide for a family that neither wished to know,
They scream as their dreams get sealed within a grave,
Essential sacrifices because the baby has to grow,
A self-destructive generation, corrupted and vexed,
Generation Y, is Generation XXX

A Baby Cries

A baby cries for reasons quite unclear;
The weather vane atop the barn spins round.
And we gaze at the orange moon with fear.

A comet streaks above but we can't hear,
Its fiery burn occurs without a sound.
A baby cries for reasons quite unclear.

The rocket rises through the atmosphere
But to the earth are most men ever bound.
And we gaze at the orange moon with fear.

The cryptic light of winking stars seems near
Though speed of light serves only to confound;
A baby cries for reasons quite unclear.

On earth a broken heart will cause a tear
To fall upon the richly dampened ground;
And we gaze at the orange moon with fear.

Three hundred sixty-five completes the year
As love and life continue to astound;
A baby cries for reasons quite unclear
And we gaze at the orange moon with fear.

Sweet Sorrow

“Close your eyes and think of me” the end is almost near
We’ve stood together righta along through for oh so many years
The kid has gone, I lost your hand, yet, I see us, oh so clear
memories, all those memories of you and me my dear.

The porch swing’s a swayin’ like it did “when you were down and out.”
And the radio’s a playin’ and the guitars strumming, oh so, proud.
It’s almost midnight and the train’s whistlin’ though the clouds
I’m thinkin’ of you baby and I’m sing our song out loud.

“So let it out and let it in” let the tears of sweet sorrow end
Let me hear your voice baby, I’m tired of that strummin’ mans grin.
My guitar man, we had our chance, so, let your sweetheart mend
return to your one and only for this last bit of pretend.

Gotta go baby and that “makes me blue” sorry just don’t cut, true
But, I know I’ll see there up there in heavens holy queue.
I made mistakes and you made yours too, now all we got is blues
But, I have my memories dear and most of them are you.

What If Christmas Never Came

What If… Christmas Never Came??? What if Christmas never happened? What if Christmas never came? Things around here would be different! It wouldn’t be the same! What if the baby Jesus was never born in a manger? Mankind would be in serious trouble! We’d all be in danger! If the baby Jesus wasn’t born. There would be no nativity. We wouldn’t be able to display this during our “festivity.” It’s almost like this now! It’s an “ever increasing business.” It seems like nearly everyone wants “Christ out of Christmas!” Why does it seem like Christmas is losing it’s true meaning? The very words; “Merry Christmas,” seem to be quickly disappearing! Many say; “Happy Holiday.” They worry they may “offend.” Having a “holiday” without Christ…. Once again! We need to put Jesus Christ back into our CHRISTmas season! He is what Christmas is about! HE is the very reason! May we all take some time to rejoice in our savior’s birth. May there be shouts of JOY! From the corners of the earth! Let’s not take Christ out of our joyous celebration! We need him so much right now! All over this great nation! May we bring to him a heart of love for everything he’s done. As we bring honor to Christ. God’s precious son! May we continually offer to him a heart filled with praise! Not only at Christmas time… But all of our days! By Jim Pemberton 12/05/11

Look of Faith

Baby grey eyes, full of strength.
Did not simmer the whole 40 but born with the strength as if they had.
No memories of loved ones’ to help with the fight.
No memories of frolicking with siblings’ to help ease the long hours.
Constant ding of bells, digital screens monitor all they can sense except what’s buried inside.
Hands assisting in every aspect of life as they know it.
Just the long days and countless hours of the love of strangers to help.
Parents aid with gentle touches and snuggles try to help their life’s love learn faster than any babe should.
The angel hands poke and fuss day and night trying to help the baby grey blossom into Blues’ or greens or browns and full of the fascination
The true image of faith is an N.I.C.U or P.I.C.U baby fighting everyday for a world they know nothing about.
They do not know of the Sun, not of the Moon or the Ocean or the Sky.
Inside these wonderful babes is a lesson the world has not spoiled yet.
Inside these Children is the purest most unspoiled example of faith, more than most of us will ever remember having.
They do not know why they struggle, but somehow I can’t help but think they know, they understand.
The fight comes from inside today, tomorrow and all days after. The fight driven by a word they do not yet know.
The word is not so important and almost meaningless when you see it before your eyes.
What is it you see when you look into the Baby grey eyes of these lil troopers and troopettes
One word faith.

The Nightmares

Nightmares that come are so bad I'm afraid to sleep
Exhaustion enters making sleep needs reach their peak

A little light sleep to settle down falling falling deeply sound
The horror no no go away nightmares please dissipate

Same dreams every night since my darling baby cried
She nursed, very well fed in the morning she died

Nightmares night afer night awaking my baby I dread
Being rocked, rocked, rocked, looking down my baby's dead

(My adoptive mother lost a child, a little girl at age nine months old. Back then people used
home remedies very seldom saw a doctor. The child had been sick with a cold, mother fed
her and the next morning she was dead. The doctor who examined the corpse said that
she had had pneumonia and choked to dead on the mucous.)

My Privilege

The bassinets in line before the window… Little packages of hope for the human race, Through the glass the reflection of love.. The ever-hopeful cycle of man taking place. Every little face beloved by eyes that see The babe, the child, the promise of the young. The butcher, the baker, the candlestick maker.. Each of these children a precious song to be sung. To watchful eyes the daily scene unfolds, To the nurse the proud privilege of the day. To care for new life with love and faith.. And safely send each one on its life’s way.
Barbara Gorelick-It was my privilege to work in the nursery for over 20 yrs. The best job I ever loved

dreams into reality

I had a dream of you again tonight...that makes it about 3years strong....i wonder what the real thing will feel like...to hold you...to see you smile for the first time...the first time you cry...as i put my finger in your hand and you squeeze i wonder what joy will course through my veins...to say your name...to watch you sleep...to watch you as you try to figure out the world...will i miss your first words...or when you crawl...the first time you try to walk will i be there to catch you when you fall...your first birthday...will i be the dad you need me to be....will i fail...all these questions and the worst one i havnt even said....i hate to think it but it has came into my mind every once in a while...what if i never get to meet you...never have the chance to fail or succeed...to never watch you grow..to never have a chance to love you..to never be a father...what if my dreams never become reality....

the unlucky one

The UN lucky one

Puts on her make up
Wear a dress she bough today
Leave a list is on the table
 Baby sitter’s on her way

Unknown faces around her
She learns to pretend
Same familiar hotel
But with different men’

And she remembered
When her life use to be fun
But unlike the movie
She was not the lucky one

She though she found love
But his heart was cold as stone
Cause nine months later
She was in a ward alone

With nowhere to go
And a new life to care for
She found a number
And knock on a door

Her parents disown her
With a baby in her hands
And this is how
Her dark side began

And she is my friend
 Will never disrespect
 Will never judge her
 God made no one perfect

And she is a good girl
With beautiful long hair
She has compassion
And she shows it everywhere

She helps a lady cross the street
Give a homeless a dollar
Buys him something to eat
And he said god bless her

And she is not proud
Of the life she live
And what we don’t understand
We have to learn to forgive

And those with no sins
 Can cast the first stone
And if we can’t throw it
Let’s just leave her alone

Diamonds that loose their lusture

We are all born imperfect
But yet
pure in heart and mind
Diamonds that shine and sparkle
That lose their lustre with the ravages of time
Life can be cruel and we soon get covered in layers of mud
We wear a mask to the world
That says I'm ok
But hides the real person
Both the bad and the good.

Sometimes we have to excavate the layers
That made us who we are
To find ourselves
And once again
Sparkle like a diamond
And twinkle like a star..

What If Christmas Never Came

UNSUPPORTED CODE What If… Christmas Never Came???

What if Christmas never happened?
What if Christmas never came?
Things around here would be different!
It wouldn’t be the same!

What if the baby Jesus was never born in a manger?
Mankind would be in serious trouble. We’d all be in danger!

If the baby Jesus wasn’t born. There would be no nativity.
We wouldn’t be able to display this during our “festivity.”

It’s almost like this now!
 It’s an “ever increasing business.”
It seems like nearly everyone wants
  “Christ out of Christmas!”

Why does it seem like Christmas is
 losing it’s true meaning?
The very words; “Merry Christmas,”
seem to be quickly disappearing!

Many say; “Happy Holiday.”
They worry they may “offend.”
Having a “holiday” without Christ….
Once again!

We need to put Jesus Christ back into
our CHRISTmas season!
He is what Christmas is about! HE is the very reason!

May we all take some time to rejoice in our savior’s birth.
May there be shouts of JOY! From the corners of the earth!

Let’s not take Christ out of our joyous celebration!
We need him so much right now!
 All over this great nation!

May we bring to him a heart of love
 for everything he’s done.
As we bring honor to Christ. God’s precious son!

May we continually offer to him a heart filled with praise!
Not only at Christmas time… But all of our days!

The Search

I went to the valley lookin' for a dime
a nickel's all I found baby ain't it a crime
I went to the valley hopin' I'd find you
I hoped you'd find me too

I went to the river lookin' for a name
a mirror's all I found baby this ain't a game
one time a devil two times a sin
I hope you'll let me in

Woke from a dream I didn't have no place
cool wind vanished without a trace
life went and played me for a fool
that's why I need you

I went to the fact'ry lookin' for some yarn
'fore I knew it I was ripped and torn
tied up in tragedy but don't feel no pain
I got your blood in my veins

I went to to the valley lookin' for a dime
a nickel's all I found baby ain't it a crime
I went to the valley without a clue
I'm so happy I found you

Last Night

Last night we went to see a friend
Who has a little baby girl
And it makes me love you even more
The warmth, the smile in your eyes
The love dancing across your face
Makes me dream of the day
When that friend will come to see
You and me
And the little baby girl
We will make together

Dying for a boy

Unspoken, unwriiten
Subtle strong demand
'A baby boy is it'
Frantic efforts
Pained in shame and silence
Turgid with trauma
Incomplete, insecured
Tried the seventh time
She must have a baby boy'
Sick and tired
Pulling through the ninth month
Lengthened labour, heightened pains
Haemorhage heralded horror
Ceasarian section
'is a baby boy!!'
'A baby boy at last!'
A motherless baby boy!!

An old motto renewed

woke up this morning
to an epiphany
of how your world works
be the best you can be
the best human 3 coil double flusher you can be
at first i was upset
in denial
that i too could live up to such high standards
how could i ever compete with such human waste
when they practice being a walking talking waste of skin everyday
acting it out
singing it
and making more money just by practicing an old motto renewed

Thats the only power you have over me
to be or not to be
a huge clog in the toilet we know as life
and i could practice it
all day and all night
no point in dancing around it in denial
but that might make me worth something
if i could pull off the feat of unequal measure
and finding someone to label what they really are
and laugh at the fact that they are oblivious to how your world works

Practicing being a total waste of skin
and then blame it on someone else
and hang their dead baby off my neck
but nope i'm better than that
i can be the best 3 coiler double flusher i can be
without any practice
just human nature at this point

Act 1 scene 2
making one person living a lie
look like a good person
as the rest of the play is all about everybody competes for the reward of being a clog in the
toilet we call life
Song and dance
still the same glory
and yet soo many of you basking in your power
of who is or isnt in denial of how your world works
practice makes perfect i guess
no point in trying to change anything
just go dangle someone elses dead baby off your neck

an old motto renewed
be the best double flusher i can be
live it, sing it, paractice it to one day show the world their brand new lie
and next lesson of how to be succesfull at something
that will only come naturaly
why not?

Anniversary

It was a day that was set so deep back in her past
For as of today it was such a dark contrast
But soon after Roe vs Wade had eked into law
This poor woman would experience her greatest fall

So as each new year so intrepidly passes her by
All those questions only grow louder as to why
And just as tomorrow will soon be here
None of these answers have ever become clear

There is nothing she can change or anything she can do
Except maybe telling her story to someone like you
For tomorrow is going to be a very long day
But it will be for young women like you that this woman will pray

For even though thirty eight years have now since past
Each year gets harder to take than the last
If anyone ever offers you an anniversary like mine
I pray to God that you will instinctively decline

What Did Mommy Do?

Me a small child, lying in bed, dreaming away, without care,

along next door, asleep, is baby sis, both of us, becoming unaware.

Of what, the night, would bring, what would be, shed to light,

about the relationship, of our parents; something just, wasn't right.

All of sudden, from parent's room; daddy yells, and mommy screams,

us kids, are rudely awaken; soon realizing life, isn't what it seems.

Running, toward my door, is baby sis, knocking, beginning, to cry,

I open door, for her, to come in; she questions, wanting to know why.

I as her brother, didn't know, what to do, or what to really say,

all I could do, was reassure, giving a hug, "That every thing, be okay".

Neither at the moment, would the moment be, ever truly, at all,

as mommy opens, up their door; dad pushes, causing her to fall.

At her, he continues, to cuss, calling her, every name, in the book,

my room, across the hall, all this, we see; horrify, as we, then look.

His fist and foot, punching, and kicking her, until she's black and blue,

at him, we ran, screaming to stop; us wondering, what did mommy do.

Me having to be a witness, to that, myself, I set free,

to self, I promise, to whom, I marry, I would, never be.

For women, are to be treated, with the upmost respect, and love,

for they are, the true best side of us, received from, heaven above

Control yourself

Moving faster, your hands are touching me everywhere and I just want you to do things to
me that I ain't never seen. Oh baby don't stop, I feel my clothes jumping off it's like a
maragoround and i'm screaming control yourself. Oh baby your kissing me, got me on my
knees shouting baby please slow down your moving too fast. You know just what buttons to
push on me, you know what makes my body weak. One touch and I get really stupid, Oh don't
you know what your doing to me? Control yourself I try to tell my body but it's no help
boy you got me excited and I can't stop not until i'm finished what you already got me
started. I want this so bad, hopefully my mom won't find out. With that thought I push
you off I thought I had more self control. Oh but you smell so good. I know you would do
my body good like milk.I smile and hop off but I know all the while, your watching me
walking away whispering this isn't over.

I Blinked

Feeling a bit nostalgic lately, my daughter is only nine for now, but how quickly it has
gone by.

I Blinked
    by Amy Swanson

When I first brought you home
       so wondrous to behold
              little fingers, precious toes
                     tiny bundle of perfection

And then I blinked.

Nature through your eyes
       Each day is a surprise
              the time so quickly flies
you gaze at life with wonder

And then I blinked.

With baby steps you now explore
we'll never go back to before
              you've opened up life's door
                     and stepped on through

And then I blinked.

First day of school came much too fast
Your toddler days I knew would pass
I wonder if my heart is glass
I feel it start to break

And then I blinked.

Packed away your little toys
you're now concerned with friends, and boys
and walk with such a graceful poise -
baby steps no more, you run so quickly.

And then I blinked.

Getting ready, that first date
can't we slow things down, please wait.
I hear echoes of yesterday -
the years have gone by much too rapidly.

And then...

                 I blinked.

MeloncollY BabY

Meloncolly Baby
MeloncollY Baby
Homesickness threatens me what with the World Wide Web at my fingertips
Eye just smurfed a place that used to be my home before the SATAN came
The place looks just the same as it ever was eye used to walk those streets
Eye used to live those streets and almost eye was thrown away in that place.
The bricks inside that building will all decay and fill a hole of great despair
The entire city needs to burn to be destroyed to get the edges of the sword
Eye cannot believe the sun is still ashining on the Stalingrad's hill. The place of
vengeance of the scorpions the place of the passing of my shadow the sight of
places eye remember has made me loose has made me useless.
Eye remember far too much comeuppances hate has ruled their daytime lives.
The city built of MAN will face the Judgment of its GOD and now the sins of this
one man have been forgiven him. We only live until we die.
No, eye am not proud to be American or proud to have no home eye am not
proud of anything that eye have done just glad to be away from that Queer City of
the sun. Homesick not. Homeless in America Homeless but eye won.

DAD'S DUTY

Father, father, where are you? Can't you see what you put my mother through?
Playing house was fun.Never realizing the cost of being the boss. What am I
suppose to do? I'm just a teenager trying to graduate from high school;and now I
have a baby on the way. Will I jump ship and say "get that baby out of my face?"

Playing house was alot of fun. Now the real test has begun...I don't want to be a
father who just gave seed .I want to be a daddy that takes care of his
responsibilities. I'm a teenager that graduated from high school.I have no time to
play around with the various crowds. I'm now college bound. I have to get this
degree, because I have a mouth to feed.I have alot of needs myself . It's not easy
you see!

Now that I have a degree.I'm able to take of me and my baby.Playing house was
alot of fun ; but the whole experience has made a man out of me.Don't be a father
who just give seeds . Be a daddy that takes care of his responsibilities.

i swear

The little girl said "mama come and sit in here with me. " Then mama said "what do you want?"
she said "I am lonely." "but I am right here in the next room and I am on the phone." "mama I know
that but I don't want to play alone- and I am lonely play with me." is what her daughter said "Well it is
about that time that you should be in bed."
The tears rolled down her little face from her mother's reply, then her mother wiped away the tears
her daughter cried. "Baby please don't cry" she said "we have a lifetime here, I'll play with you
tomorrow all day long okay? I swear." She tucked her into bed and kissed her on her dampened
cheek, she didn't know that inside pumped a little heart too weak.
The next day came and then the same the conversation played now she would give anything to get
back just one day. She sang to her that one last time and tucked her into bed she didn't know her
routine would be changed for life instead.
"Baby please wake up!" she said "the doctor's on his way, please wake up so we can go outside and
we can play!" Her heart had stopped about midnight she had one final dream now her mother's
tribulations echoed in her screams.
Her hands were cold her face was calm but had a certain daze of all the pain no longer felt about
those lonesome days. It was too late her mama knew how much she really cared, but did her baby
know she meant it every time she sweared? Her mother screamed and felt insane an unavailing cry
and had to plead with God in disbelief her baby died.
"God please give her back to me God please this isn't fair, give me one more chance with her I'll
make it up I swear!"
