Washed Away What Easter Means To Me

Friday, I see the wounds and bow my head
I find no peace in the life I've led
There were no victories nor battles won
Oh Father, You gave us Your only Son
Saturday, there is an ache I bear
As I hit my knees in tearful prayer
So many times I've tried and fell
Praying forgiveness, deserving Hell.
Sunday, I cry out from my man made prison
I look to the tomb, but He is Risen
I praise our Lord for this Glorious Day
For all my sins have been washed away

I Love You Jesus

~I Love You Jesus~ (Couplets) Just when I thought, I was alone and so lost, You came to live inside my heart, and paid for me the greatest cost, Of all, and since then You never left my side no matter what I have done, Or what in my life I've chosen to do.In my soul you shine like the sun You're the most wonderful thing that happened to me.You make me whole, Without You to guide me I would be now in an empty darkened hole, Without You by my side, this life would be so worthless and very mean, Without You, my world would be so cruel and empty and so coldly grim. I know that there's nobody like Him in the whole world, you see He touches my heart and my soul, everyday, in every conceivable way, He's made everything for me so completely brand-new, you see, His sweet love fills the emptiness of my sinful soul, He sets me free. His love is the greatest therapeutic healer that every man should know, And without His Love and Grace there wouldn't be, any love left to show. Impossible Task for a Dreamer

Can't write about Christmas or New Years Day, Written just for Paula's
Or Easter or Kwanzaa or any other Holiday. Contest :)

I've written too much about war, about love,
and depression and sex both deserve a shove.

I guess that I could just swallow my pride,
And sneak in a write about suicide'

But Paula don't want these kinds of idolitry,
She wants us to write a poem about poetry.

How do you write about what you never said,
Or the way that words rattle around in your head?

Or how hard those words are to make a pen fashion,
Or how when they're written they seem to lose passion?

O Poem, what can I write about you?
I think until my thinker turns blue,

I come to the end of a poem about poetry,
But it won't rhyme.

First Kiss

A boy moved into our small town, lived just down the way,
His British accent and lovely white smile, just made my day.

He invited me to the Easter dance and bought me a corsage
From beginning to end, the whole scene seemed like a mirage.

I wore a new white and yellow dress my Mom sewed for me,
She placed yellow ribbons in my hair, they matched perfectly.

We walked hand in hand to the dance talking about school,
Meanwhile my stomach was churning trying to stay so cool.

We swayed to Hey Jude, I thought I was in heaven for sure,
Yet scared of what would happen next - was I too immature.

Then the song ended, if there were others there I was unaware,
He moved his hands up my arms and touched my lips with care.

My expectations were high, thought I’d know love right away,
But I felt nothing, my hopes dashed, we broke up the next day.

Early Spring

*A Collaboration

The snow that shrinks in the glen and the wood
Would gladly stay through the spring if it could.

While clouds have flown to free the sapphire sky,
The liquid snow of winter tumbles by.

It melts into puddles of liquid gold
As the sun's growing warmth exiles the cold.

The warming sun highlights the tips of trees,
Inviting new growth, encouraging bees.

The swaying daffodils are in full bloom,
Yet others sleep in Mother Nature’s womb.

Tiny green buds are peeking from the trees
And big, white blossoms are soon to be seen!

The spring flowers raise their heads to the sun,
Soon to be used for Easter bonnet fun.

*In the order they appear here, these seven couplets were written by: Craig Cornish, Isaiah Zerbst, Heather Ober, David Williams, Jack Horne, Andrea Dietrich, and Seren Roberts. Thanks for participating, guys! :)

A Happy Day

In mind's eye I reminisce, watching children play
of a spring day sitting here, seeing my children play

blessed to see their smiles, when they hit, slid or fell
A happy day begin playing ball, in this story I will tell

A kiss and hug I get, dad please take us to the fair
Seeing the rides, ooh's, awe's echo from our pair

Eating fried dough, peanuts, "Boy! see the games over there"
We're playing with family and friends, as they make a dare

Can't miss any ride that twists, mixes, spins or flys in the air
There's so much to see, ride and play with, in a day at the fair

Hearing "thanks mom and dad" that night, walking to the car
"Stay awake" they say as we move, you know they can't get far

This day all started with thoughts of fun, smiles and laughs
both asleep, with their dreams, today, mom and dad can laugh

Easter Happiness

I feel so happy today
Because it’s Easter Sunday

The Lord has risen
It’s time to rejoice again

Give a smile to everyone
The best thing you've done

Be merry and spread the love
God is watching from above

Heart as white as a cotton cloud
Forgiveness in your heart, be proud

Sadness will swept away
Happiness will filled the day

Have a Blessed Easter to my PS family (^___^)

Oh My Gosh It's Almost Easter

Oh my gosh it’s almost Easter
Time to get off my fat keister.

To buy a dozen eggs, or more
Coz now there’s five kids over four.

And one of them always cries
Painting eggs with stupid dyes.

I almost forgot the candy bars;
Who needs new brakes for the cars?

I don’t have time to talk to you
Where are the peeps or poops or pooh?

And then I’ll stay up way to late
Hiding eggs for Pete Rabbit’s sake.

I got to get all this stuff done
To make the holiday more fun.

But someday I’ll be all done with
This crazy Easter Bunny myth.

Wait! I’ll save a pile of money
By killing off the Easter Bunny.

And lay him down in a casket
On plastic grass from a basket.

I'd gladly sing a song for Spring

I do not write in April, because that’s the month that comes before May.
I do not write in April, because then June would arrive in total disarray!

I do not write in April, now, although I have before this day.
I do not write in April, actually, although with words I’m known to play.

I do not write in April, when there’s ANZAC’s, Easter and Palm Sunday.
I do not write in April, and from that delicate decree I’ll not go astray.

I do not write in April, but exactly why, I can’t quite say.
I do not write in April, and it’s for the best, that here, I don’t betray.

I do not write in April, although I do read papers from my in-tray.
I do not write in April, so you won’t find any papers in my out-tray.

I do not write in April, when I’m outside whiling my time away.
I do not write in April, for that fills my insides with strange dismay!

I do not write in April, for I’ll not wear a wreath like a gloomy lay!
I do not write in April, but I’ll cheerfully whistle down your way.

I do not write in April come whatever, come what may.
I do not write in April. I do not write in April I say!

I do not write in April, but I’d gladly sing a song for Spring to stay.

(A Purpose So Clear)

Like children we fear
  In secret a somber tear

Like learning to walk
 Babies listen to talk

And reach for a hand
  To help them stand

This too, we all must do
  By HIS Hand made anew

I Believe

As for the origin of holidays, I'm definitely not very smart.
I am a Catholic Christian, speaking simply from my heart.

Concerning Christmas and Easter, we have been doubly blessed.
We have experienced the great Love of God made manifest!

Christmas is the holiday that celebrates our Savior's birth,
The day God chose to send His Perfect Love to earth!

On Easter we remember the gift of His life, death, and resurrection.
We wait with hope in His return, with His Holy Spirit our connection!

As our Blessed Mother Teresa shared concerning love for God,
Be faithful in your service to Him wherever you may trod.

Whether you are Hindu, Christian, Muslim, or Jew,
The Creator of us all holds us with His Love so true!

The Easter Mouse

Kiddies take heed Of this kind hearted deed By this cute little mouse That lives in our house He wears fake ears That make him appear Like the Easter Bunny So cute and so funny Don't want you to think Because he's not pink He can't play the role This kind hearted soul He just loves to spread Good cheer instead Of eating our cheese And nuts if you please Well what do you think He goes by instinct But we sure don't mind 'Cause our mousey's so kind Spreading good will Giving kiddies a thrill On Easter morning Without any warning Hiding those treasures Watching with pleasure The joy it will cause He don't need applause Then retreats to his home That's the end of my poem Sure hope that you liked it Much as I did to write it! © Jack Ellison 2013

A Difficult Question

'Mommy who killed the Easter Bunny?'
'Oh my! Nobody honey.

You see Saint Nick and the Tooth Fairy,
they had something for him to carry;

With his energy from sugary sweets,
He has some very quick feet;

But he did not realize
How quick the time does fly;

With all that helping
He did not realize his day was coming;

So you see he's not dead,
He is running late instead.'

'Oh Mommy that's ok.
He can bring my candy today!'

'Great.' Mom says to herself
'There goes my mental health.'

EASTER SUNDAY

(Notes:
1. Ancient esoteric teachings state that
"The Christ" is the divine blueprint for the man
imaged in the likeness of God. This is the divine
destiny for each soul that walks the path of life.
2. This is the final destiny of all men of goodwill,
and belongs to our collective humanity, regardless
of spiritual affiliation.
3. "The Christ" bestowal is for all mankind and
is all-inclusive.
4. This poem is my personal reflection of that
harmony; and is not meant to be a religious discourse.
My apologies to those who think that I am evangelising.
That's not my intention. Thank you.)

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --

An Easter song to tell the world
That Love lives strong in joyous swirls.

A brand new sphere with promise bright;
From darkness here to realms of light.

A happy morn with wondrous sight;
Now comes the dawn: glorious, sure light!

Round stone slab rolled, the tomb empty;
Laid linen folds for faith to see.

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- --

The Christ once slain in sure fashion,
From death's domain: resurrection!

The empty tomb with folded sheets,
Just like a womb where new life greets.

Lone angel waits, glad tidings dwell;
Here at tomb's gate, pious women tell.

The women tell of empty earth;
The Christ now dwells in Love's re-birth.

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- --

The stone slab moved so we can see
The hollow groove, unmasked empty.

A promised plan: beyond fable,
From Son of Man, grand miracle.

A grandeur shown for select few:
The Christ made known in glorious hues.

The Christ once slain in sure fashion,
From death's domain: resurrection!

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- --

Christ is risen to set us free;
From death's prison, from misery.

How do we know that this is true?
Love and truth show what Spirit cues.

The facts don't lie on this account;
The Christ did die upon that mount.

Now trumpets blast for The Christ lives
A sacred trust, for God forgives.

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- --

The Christ Living beyond death's veil;
Light undying as Love prevails.

Man is made whole in mind and heart;
A brand new soul that lives Love's art.

Grace now uplifts, death and sin die;
What precious gift, Love and life sigh.

This day of grace when Love abides;
Truth frees our race from time and tide.

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- --

Today true light shines once again
To put things right in message plain.

Hence man can live with precious peace
For Love now gives true life increase.

Thank you dear God for Love and Light;
Thank you dear Lord for Grace and sight.

The risen Lord calls out to each;
To look to God within sure reach.

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- --

With grace and calm, follow your heart;
Love is the balm that helps you start.

Go on your way, live night and day
With passion play, with Love that stays.

Live life path well with wholesome cheer;
Love all who dwell on earthly spheres.

Let peace abide with ebb and flow;
Let joy firm stride in your life's show.

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- --

Our time is brief, our days must end;
Go beyond grief, let your soul tend.

Our space is small, our act looks vain;
Yet fond Love calls to live truth plain.

Our life is brief, our moments tint;
Just live and breathe, listen Love hints.

Our tale must end with death that comes;
Around the bend, Love squares all sums!

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- --

I am the Light that lights the way;
Live with clear sight through night and day.

I am the Way, life beyond life;
Live well each day with faith alive.

I am the Truth, the humble gate;
Live Love's sure proof to find your fate.

I am the Life, the precious gift;
Live beyond strife -- The Christ uplifts!

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- --

Look to this day, for life ascends;
Live your fond play, see death descend.

Look to this earth, for heaven comes;
Live your sure birth, see wonders sum.

Look to this race, for blessings form;
Live your bold trace, see faith's sure norms.

Look to this heart as Yeshua said:
"Live your best part: Love unafraid."

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- --

The Christ now calls to one and all;
Be beyond gall, rise when you fall.

Follow your heart, link mind and soul;
Begin and start with action bold.

Seek path and choice, seek happy way;
Fill poise and voice, live well each day.

"Come follow me," The Christ still says,
"Now let peace free true life this day."

The Christ for all mankind remains
To big and small The Kingdom's gain.

And for all time, The Christ within
Speaks the same rhymes: "Come, let me in."

The Son of Man loves all mankind;
You know you can; God's Love now finds.

Listen, The Word now comes to each;
Let Love be heard within fond reach.

Your actions preach the tact you take;
Love lives fine reach to heal and make.

Now act by act, you fashion here
The heart you fact as cause marks clear.

Here at the end, true message sums:
Love works the plan, Love facts outcome.

A New Dawn

Copyright © 2013
1/22/2013

A New Dawn in His Glory
  foretold in a biblical story

Coming for those preparing
  skyward we will be starring

Like descending parachutes
  sounds of trumpets and flutes

Captivating our hearts
  giving us a new start

A New Dawn is coming
  listen, nature is humming

Idelology clashing blows
  a tale between 2 foes

Revelations foretold a day
  when more begin to pray

World events getting crazier
  humanity's future  hazier

Waiting on ONE to stop this mess
  or, were we just another lab test?

Black-The Jack Of All Trades

"Hello I'm Johnny Cash" his warm hearted greeting;
they knew it was the man in black they were meeting.

And this color black is also well favored
by those whose lifestyle is "goth" flavored.

Ladies all over have closets brimming
with black clothes which are supposedly slimming!

There's the black heart of the liar and cheater
which makes the other lovers seem sweeter.

The black jellybean stands out from the rest
there in it's Easter basket nest.

In black of night I wrote this all down;
might be the most versatile color around!

Easter Miracle

All dolled up in Easter dress
Watching through the window glass

At children searching all around
For colored eggs upon the ground

Her spirits high as clouds in sky
Her smile bright with vivid eyes

She lived each moment for the day
Reality was just a play

Not long after her birthday
Devastating news came way

Plagued with cancer from within
A battle that she couldn't win

Doctors guessed how dice would roll
Survival was our only goal

Friends and family joined in prayer
Asking God, her life to spare

Treatment had no good avail
Emotions raised and love tears fell

As little princess slips away
I can't accept her final day

I placed my head upon her chest
And listened to her heart at rest

I held her body close to me
Then opened up my eyes to see

A bearded man with hands of red
Was standing there beside her bed

Bathed in light and love divine
He said he'd come another time

I knew I'd seen a miracle
Not something passed as medical

The latest news of her condition
Was cancer now was in remission

Nineteen years ago to date
That girl is living out her fate

But now instead of Easter best
She's all dolled up in wedding dress

Snow Flakes and Easter Lilies

Snow flakes and Easter lilies scatter the ground
Winter time and Spring time seem to be having a round
Like a game of tug of war each side wants control
Today it was winter who wanted to rock n roll
Tomorrow maybe Spring time will give it a heave ho
Guess we won’t know till tomorrow though

Spring

Spring
Spring has arrived that we know
The flowers are blooming, most saying good bye to snow.
Spring Break has pretty much come and gone
Easter has arrived with a new dawn.

Perhaps you'll attend a sunrise service to start your day
Or maybe eight days of Passover where you pray.
You see, what ever you believe, whatever you do
Spring is about starting fresh and new.

What about an Easter bunny with eggs to give out?
Or a child finding a golden egg you'll here him shout!
A pretty new dress with a bonnet to match
Or a baby chick that you just watch hatch.

Spring is so special to young and to old
Days are warmer nights not as cold.
Enjoy the start of a refreshing season
Hold on to your loved ones, you don't need a reason

Jesus Fate Our Journey

Jesus’ Father from above.
Said, "You must take human form
To demonstrate My love,
To a virgin you must be born".
Go down to the Earth,
Mary was obedient and gave the son birth

In the Garden of Gethsemane he was torn,
They led him to the old rugged cross
He was beaten and scorned.
There the enemy Satan, thought that Jesus had lost,
 Nails could never hold him;
It was the love of mankind, to the cross that held his limbs.

The curse of death is over for all who believe.
Because Jesus bled and died,
New life we can receive;
At His death Mary His mother cried.
People were healed of many things,
Now death has lost It’s sting.

He did all of this, so again we could be born.
Three days he lay and wait
For that blessed Holy morn.
When He would rise again, to seal man’s fate.
When he completed his journey
The road to salvation was opened;
 Now repentance is the key.

Tomorrow's Easter

Tomorrow's Easter
By Franklin Price
4/4/2015

Tomorrow's Easter there's no debate
Christ's resurrection to celebrate
Died on the cross and then arose
His love for us still grows and grows

He went to heaven waiting there
For true believers those who care
He lived and died to show the way
Took on the debt our sins to pay

Christ lived and died to rise ascend
Along the way loved fellow men
As an example he did live
Life's not to take it's best to give

Our lives should live as he did there
Forgive all men and treat them fair
Believe Christ died for all of us
And you may ride on heaven's bus

Crayola_____Colors Of Nature

On days of early sunrise many colors greet my eyes
Girls in their pastel Easter dresses is one my eye spies

When looking at all the colors presented by Crayola
As I repose on day off in my pergola

Down where wild things play and I would want to stay all day
Where I could reach.. touch the sky-blue sky from this place of play

Across the way where Mulberry Tree gives its fruit to me
Then I can make that Mulberry jam that will draw many bees

Mulberry such picture pretty color to spread on toast
Great color Mulberry for jam on toast this I will boast

Over by the Mulberry Tree where the Brown Turkey grows
Just below the running rose on the trellis of Misty Rose

Nature offered Crayola colors that we favored
Even Razzle Dazzle Rose sunsets that day's end flavored

(This was inspired by Linda-Marie Brianna contest about Crayola Crayon.)

The Easter Season

This Easter season let me stay
With my Lord as He wends His way
To that dark day and dreadful doom;
Stay with Him to His burial tomb.

Let me be one who lifts the cross,
Who comforts Mary in her loss
And as I hear His dying cry,
Be there to see my Savior die.

I would be of the lonely few
Who are still there in morning dew
On what will be a brighter day,
To see the stone that's rolled away.

Let me go forth to spread the news.
Our dear Lord chose His life to lose,
To rise again on Easter Morn
That all who love Him are reborn.

The Easter story often told
Is fresh as in those days of old,
When Mary and each faithful friend,
Stayed with Him to the very end.

Easter

Easter

Find that spirit inside you that raised Christ from the dead
The spirit that He showed to us with the breaking of the bread

In His pain and passion He died so we may live
And broke the bonds of death and taught us to forgive

And in the cup He gave his blood shed for all mankind
With healing words of love giving light to whom once were blind

Many who gave witness wrote these words for us
That we live in faith and to Christ’s word give trust

So on this Sunday morning give thanks for all his love
As the King of Kings watches over us with the Father from above
