THE UNIVERSE OF YOU
I have never seen a flower blush when I took it's hue
and held it there a prisoner captive to my view.
I have always heard the song that's in the autumn breeze
playing taps in harmony with the forest leaves.
I love the smell of rain that brings the springtime into bud
and swells my love of nature into a teeming flood.
I celebrate the cycle of the daytime into night
and find an equal blessing in the shadow and the light.
I've always felt affinity for all created things
and surrender to the pleasure that their beauty brings.
And though I could spent a lifetime sailing drops of dew
I've never seen a universe as beautiful as you.
I've often sat myself by gentle mountain streams
and overflowed the dams that were holding back my dreams.
I've breathed the scented forest on the mountainside
and washed away my sorrows in an evening ocean tide.
I've laid down in a meadow and debated with the moon
and spent some quiet moments on the surface of Neptune.
I got married to a zodiac with one of Saturn's rings
then spied a super nova and went on a cosmic fling.
I've run away to nebulae in galaxy brochures
and bathed in scenes of wonders on distant planet shores.
Every cosmos in creation could parade before my view
but I've never seen a universe as beautiful as you.
I've never seen a tree once withdraw it's shade
and deny a creature the comfort of its aid.
I've never seen any anger in the sun at noon
when it burns relentlessly on the desert dune.
At sunrise I take an oath to live with all my might
and reinforce my gratitude each and every night.
I could spend some hours riding on a crystal flake
drifting wildly in a gale mindless of my fate.
Many times I've been through trials or wind and rain and snow
then sentenced to the splendors that the seasons show.
And though I've searched throughout creation, I must say this is true
I've never seen a universe as beautiful as you.
I have a special story I wish to share
About a seamstress beautiful and fair
She would fade away turning into smoke
Of her amazing beauty, no man would joke
The spiraling smoke would then re-form
I know only an angels face could be so warm
Before her a beautiful quilt was spread
Upon it the story of my life was said
As she once again started to dissipate
She said, “Mike this quilt records your fate”
As the smoke traveled over to a new place
And then formed together creating her face
Looking over her shoulder back at me
She said, “This area will hold what has yet to be”
Most of the quilt looked like twisted evil tattoo
Simply because, my life’s quilt was quilted true
I looked the quilt over and then met her gaze
She was so beautiful in so many different ways
The last part of the quilt way over to the right
Showed the beauty of someone changing their plight
Upon her beautiful hand, which seemed so nimble
I noticed she was wearing my grandmother’s thimble
From a young maiden so beautiful to see
My grandmother appeared right in front of me
I guess up in heaven we return to our youth
My grandmother was beautiful; such is the truth
I thought of the price grandma was asked to pay
The shame of knowing I had turned out that way
I thought of her sitting there stitching my shame
My grandmother didn’t deserve an eternity of pain
She said, “Michael be still with the pain in your heart,
Your story encourages others to make a new start.”
“The deeper the wrong the stronger the right
I always knew my boy would take up the fight”
With a smile much brighter than an ice covered sea
She said, “I love the man my boy has grown up to be”
As she turned to the quilt and started to sew
She said, “Michael, its now time for you to go.”
“Believe in your story believe in your truth
For Salvation is the true fountain of youth”
One night in a dream, which I’ll hold forever divine
I learned; my Grandmother is now,” The Seamstress of Time”
When I was a boy I would help my Grandmother roll
her quilt, find her glasses, as well as, her thimble. I
never thought about how amazing her art truly was.
From a pile of rags she would make the most beautiful
quilt's. I sleep under one of her quilts to this very day.
Have you looked up at the sky today and watched the birds that flew pass? Did you notice the white fluffy clouds and a beautiful rising sun so vast?
Have you looked at the trees around and noticed the fruits and flowers that bares? A variety of beautiful colours that it displays. Do me a favour, just stop and stare.
Have you looked around your home today and saw all that you achieved? or did you rush out as normal again and forget the office keys?
Have you looked around work today and noticed every one stressed? Most of them in such a bad mood and some of them in a complete mess.
Have you listened to the radio today and sang along to some of the songs? Even though you might sing out of tune or sometimes get the words wrong.
Have you looked up at the sky tonight and saw the beauty that it holds? Or where you afraid to go outside that late in case you caught a cold?
Down the road could be a man who was born without sight. Yet thee most humble being and “hears” everything in delight.
On the other side could be a woman who will never be able to hear. But full of love to everyone cause she sees their love so clear.
Someone out there has no family or friends and someone will never be able to walk Someone out there has no job or home and someone will never be able to talk.
I guess that the problem with society today is not appreciating what’s already been given.
Simple yet priceless gifts from above, that’s always in front of us, never hidden.
Look around, appreciate and see how you have been blessed. Family and friends surround you, yes even though your life could be a mess.
A home, a job, a car to drive, clothes and food to eat. Remind me once again why you are never upbeat?
So have you looked up at the sky today and noticed the beauty that surrounds? And thanked God for all you have or did you rush out and started the day with a frown?
Way before the sunrise is when I start my day
I offer thankfulness in the prayer that I pray
I do love the morning with its beautiful sunrise
Especially when reflecting off clouds in the sky
My life is a journey with my soul as the guide
What makes it beautiful is my wife at my side
My children are my strength; encouraging me
I make sure that everyday is truly all it can be
My friends are many though old-friends are few
For I no longer agree with the things that they do
I still hold them all in my prayers and my heart
Nothing in this life could ever pry them apart
So what is the story the meaning of this rhyme?
The blessing is there if we just follow the sign
To accept the blessings the place we must start
Just be as a child and look through your heart
Be as a child; cherish every one of your dreams
If you wish to feed the river than become a stream
Everything will happen in its own time and place
You will truly find peace once you’ve found grace
Since love is the place where we all need to start
Remember, be kind and gentle to your own heart
One day, “Old Saint Peter,” will open up the gate
There is nothing to fear for heaven will be great

She smiled, and shared, how the laptop was damaged with so much sand
Hanging out with Linda, it's like singing "Kumbaya my Lord"-- I felt her holding my hand
How sweet of Linda, when she invited us to meet her new Husband?
Linda Marie is loved by her very own BBF team

The loon stands out it seems
Minnesota's state bird
I know it must sound absurd
Adopted in nineteen sixty one
Wails and yodels heard under the sun
Black and white bearing red eyes
Wingspans five feet can make one cry
Body lengths up to three feet
Yet clumsy on lands and moss peat
They are high speed flyers
And great underwater divers
They can dive up to ninety feet
In pursuit of fish they want to eat
They are even on our license plates
An critical habitat drawn on metal slates
Twelve thousand of these unique birds
God that has to be a lot of turds
But for now I'll enjoy it's captured views
Of this beautiful loon and it's most colorful hues

By Constance ~ A Rambling Poet
I ran by this thing with haste, that malevolent beast as to school I went
Centered In a beautiful field i never played, because we all knew of the shallow graves.
We never saw them, no one dared to find them, and no one ever even looked
For the other children that were buried there, trust for a child is given by word of mouth.
The rumors grew, as the tulips did in the field that held That Old Red Barn.
A child’s fancy, the minds plaything sometimes given over to the rule of what it thinks must
Because Jennifer said it, it must be so; I don’t dare to find out the actual truth. I’m not that
So I leave it alone, this beautiful thing, because the cover does not always tell the story
If I had given it a second glance and not been so scared that I didn’t notice,
That just beyond the reaches of the trees at its circumference laid a house of golden hue
And in those walls, a grander story than even of that of “That Old Red Barn”
A family of two … now ancient to me spent their time growing corn and raising grain
That would one day come to the table I sat, nourishing me and giving me strength.
Letting me have the energy I need, to quickly run by “That Old Red Barn”
So that I could fly past this place that they built and in their hearts would always treasure
I don’t think that they knew of the fear it instilled all because of one child’s rants
But now that I know and am older now, I look out my front door and see what they mean
This Beautiful Field and “That Old Red Barn” once seemed a curious creature
Full of fear and malevolence, they were too old to invest the time to restore it to splendor
So I purchased from them all this vastness of pleasure, That Beautiful Field, and yes “That
Old Red Barn”

Impressionable young hearts do tell the grandest lies
When learned from grandfathers with sparkling eyes
Grandfathers living renewed through the breath of a grandchild
Oh grandfathers’ whoppers told in all kindness and glory
The bigger the whopper makes the child’s lies the cute little story
Thus the grandchild’s faith breeching walls of reasonable reality
Simply because beloved grandfather had told the story
My grandfather said it was so- tiny voice of pledged belief
And I believe him -for grandfather would never lie to me
So sleep little one- dream the telling’s of funny grandfathers beloved
For their little lies to you are meant to not make you a worried
But make you believe in the impossibilities of grandeur and extravagance
There is a Santa Clause
The fish really was so big it couldn’t fit in the boat
I wrestled a grizzly when I was just about your age
For in the telling of such blessed little lies
A remembrance of grandfather will never die
The wisdom and laughter thus remembered in each time’s telling
Will warm you over and over- as little lies do you begin the telling
I dreamt my mother mourned a broken doll,
porcelain, sad brown eyes, and five feet tall.
Entombed it in the finest place she could,
a cottage encircled by sunlit wood.
She danced a silent waltz with it, keening,
encouraging life in the wretched thing.
And it mended as she was worn away.
She did not hear when warned of her decay.
I was left a pristine porcelain doll,
and a broken mother in its enthrall.
Below a Douglas Fir tree one beautiful moonlit night
I sat there with my Missy as we viewed a lovely sight
The aurora borealis was lighting up the sky
Then something to my right suddenly caught my eye
A gem from outer space tore across the cobalt blue
Leaving behind a trail a quite spectacular view
Two in trapped capture witnessing a shooting star
We wonder where it came from, out there from afar
We sat there for ages chatting about the sight we seen
Phenomena such as this are generally seen in dreams
Below the Douglas Fir tree that beautiful moonlit night
We marvelled at it's arrival as it disappears from sight
