Music Take Me Back

When I'm blue and need something to make me smile
I can turn on my forty fives and listen for a while
Jimmy Gilmer sang about a Sugar Shack
Holding hands, walking down that railroad track
Then I let the music take me back.

Take me back to a time when love was new
Take me back to a time when skies were blue
When we could catch that falling star
Make love in the back seat of my car
Music, oh sweet music, take me back

Doo-wop memories touched my soul
Mixed with the early days of rock and roll
I close my eyes and through the haze
I see sunshine and better days
Music take me back to those times again.

There was Bandstand on TV in black and white
Radio on 'til you fell asleep at night
There were dances at the school
And swimming in the community pool
Music take me back, let me remember when.

Did we believe those days would forever last
Were things so much better in the past
I dream of days when a movie
Meant kissing in the balcony
Music take me back, let my heart roam.

It seems like a thousand years ago
We found true love and watched it grow
I know this is where my heart belongs
When I listen to those songs
Music take me back, please take me home.

first apartment

Start our life in this new apartment.
Its small, as small as our love started...
all I need is your hands
and just enough room to dance.

The music starts,
you pull me in.
We're two hearts
this is where we begin.
This is our,
our very first apartment.

Such a little world
that you and I both live in.
Just a boy and girl
as green as can be, we begin.
All I need is your hands
and just enough room to dance.

The music starts,
you pull me in.
We're two hearts,
this is where we begin.
This is our,
our very first...

Such a small world.
What a small world.
We're so little, just you and I.
Promise we'll always be little.
Little love, little world.

All I need is your two strong hands,
and barely enough room at all to dance.

The country gathering

The country gathering

Sometimes the folk all got together
In the little country house
Now there was Tom the tiny tiger
Well, he could be a louse
But could he play that old guitar
Man! he made it speak
And when the folk did hear him play
He made their legs go weak.

There was Winifred the otter
How she did those drums
Her rhythm it could suck one in
If you were feeling glum
You’re legs would start to dancing
As you’d rise up to the sky
And all those troubles that you had
They’d fade away and die.

Now Mugly Minie, could she sing!!
She was the porcupine
She’d stand there with a glass of wine
And she’d just blow your mind
As Billie basset, the friendly bear
Would play that bass so cool
Now he was quiet, and very shy
But lord, he had it all.

People came from miles around
To hear those  fellows play
They’d dance and sing Chicago blues
Their hearts alive and gay
They’re going to be a big time band
One day, they all know this
But all they really want to do
Is play, that’s how it is.

Unanswered Poems

Don’t send me more
Of your tragic poems
My dear
Covered in blood
Of your monthly flood
Of tears

Don’t send me more
Of your angry poems
My dear
Carved with the knife
Of your molten spite
And fears

I’m just a peddler
With a cart
Bringing discount words
To hearts
Broken hearts across the land
Woman left without her man
Broken hearts throughout the world
Anguished boy and crying girl

Your poetry’s too heavy, dear
For me to read, for me to bear
Your poetry’s too heavy, dear
For me to get from here to there

Don’t send me more
Of your bitter poems
My sweet
Forged in the fire
Of your endless ire
And grief

Don’t send me more
Of your hopeless poems
My sweet
Ripped from the womb
Of the lonely room
You keep

I’m just a peddler
With a cart
Bringing discount words
To hearts
Broken hearts across the land
Woman left without her man
Broken hearts throughout the world
Anguished boy and crying girl

Your poetry’s too heavy, dear
For me to read, for me to bear
Your poetry’s too heavy, dear
For me to get from here to there

(You see that shadow on the road
Trudging ‘neath its heavy load
A heart weighed down by sands of time
And your poems only make him cry
And he won’t add them to the pile
So he can walk another mile)

(And he won’t add them
To the pile
So he can walk
Another mile)

Too heavy, dear
Too heavy, dear
For me to read
For me to bear

(They make him sad
Make him cry
Beat him down
Deep inside)

Too heavy, dear
Too heavy, dear
For me to read
For me to bear

They make me sad
Make me cry
Feel as though
I want to die

(And he won’t add them
To the pile
So he can walk
Another mile)

Too heavy, dear
Too heavy, dear
For me to read
For me to bear

(A heart weighed down
By sands of time
And your poems
Only make him cry)

Too heavy, dear
Too heavy, dear
For me to read
For me to bear

Wailing the blues

Wailing the blues.

I’m remembering those days
That I’d be up there on that stage
Blowing a storm on the old blues harp
Oh man, I used to rage!
Most said that I was very good
And I loved that ego boost
So I would wail those blues notes out
All hanging kind of loose.

Folk would come and buy me drinks
And shake me by the hand
And I would smoke the evil weed
And feeling kind of grand
I’d get all kind of soulful then
And forget just where I was
My eyes all closed my body swaying
Like a man completely lost.

Once I opened up my eyes
And folk were standing there
All their dancing stopped by me
As people everywhere
We’re captivated by my harp
Entrancement on their dials
The music doing what it does best
It was joy to see those smiles.

That was in the days long gone
When I really loved me grog
I guess I’m kind of mellowed now
I’m as active as a log
But I love the many memories
Of the times I played those songs
All loud and loose and free, and grand
And pleased the blessed throng.

This is what my heart says

i swing into dreams
i swim into the deepest sleeps
i never seem to get back in time

now the world seems clearer
my friends say i am getting better
i wonder if those are just words to deny

and a lover of the abyss
you sprang out of the mist
but i cannot give you what you seek

the phone keeps ringing
and my heart keeps doubting
of all the words you have tried to speak

so speak no more.

so let me go.

please dont speak anymore

now i just want you to know.

there are rainbows and clouds
better than what i am right now
you can find them somewhere out there

my heart cannot bear the pain i will send
because i am not mister evil again
please my heart says i want to get out there

my heart says i want to let you go
i just want you to know.
i dont love you anymore.

Martyr for the Unorthodox word

If I had over 10,000 dreams You'd be the only thing my mind could see Judgment couldn't be real Succumbing to the fear of this cold life Find a way to break through The self-destruction of wordly delusions Don't tell me I've lived so long in a lovely illusion Break me down until we find a Nirvanic state Then bring me a savior from transgressions An atoning sacrifice Send down to me a messenger for me to submit to Bring me the truth to break through The delusion Bring me the messenger to explain it all And let me leave behind Sorrow's caressing the earth The caliphate stole my heart Without a will to fight But I have the Means to be free I'll try to go with the word I believe But so many stones to be thrown Stakes to burn, limbs to break Faces to hate, scorns to taste Will I have the will to die Despite all of the tears no one will cry Sorrow's caressing the earth The caliphate stole my heart Broke my will Safetefied my soul Martyr for the Unorthodox word Sorrow's caressing the earth The caliphate stole my heart Without a will to fight But I have the Means to be free I'll try to go with the word I believe But so many stones to be thrown Stakes to burn, limbs to break Faces to hate, scorns to taste Will I have the will to die Despite all of the tears no one will cry Sorrow's caressing the earth The caliphate stole my heart Broke my will Safetefied my soul Martyr for the Unorthodox word

Mrs. Brown You've Got A Lovely Jewel There!!

Mrs. Brown you've got a lovely jewel there,
Jewels like her are something rare...
She can't  disguise it,
Ruby's red eyes show "blues" in it,

Fred, you wanna add the refrain?
Don't worry about Herman & pals-
They're all hermit crabs now-a-days.

Leave the Ninety-nine

We must leave the ninety-nine
To go search and find
The one lost sheep
Wand'ring far behind
We must leave the ninety-nine
To go search and find
The one lost sheep-
Left behind  (Chorus)

Just suppose one of you has a hundred sheep
Then loses one of them and begins to weep
Would you not leave the ninety and nine
And go after the one on your heart and mind
And when it's found you would hold it closer
And carry it home upon your shoulders
Then call all your neighbors and gather all your friends
Celebrating your sheep that's back in the fold again

[Bridge]
Likewise there's more rejoicing
In Heaven up above
Over one lost soul who will repent
Than for the ninety-nine
Who are already found
To be righteous and so obedient (So..)

(Chorus)

Now suppose one of you has ten silver coins
But then loses one of them from your collection
Would you not light the house and sweep the floors
Searching very carefully for what is yours
Would you not put away the other precious nine
And look in every corner until the lost one you'd find
Then call all your neighbors and gather all your friends
Celebrating you have your coin in your hand again

[Bridge]

(Chorus)

[Bridge2]
But don't forsake the congregation
And now's the time for visitation
To lead the lost ones to salvation
With God's angels in celebration

(Chorus)

London

She called herself London
On that day
She fell from the sky
Child of apple blossoms
Dancing wildly
Into your mind

The snake that hung from her neck
Bites your hand
Expels you from Eden
Tears into the cool flesh
Of your madness
Posing as reason

London
Kisses you like a sweet lover
As though she really cares
Lets you
Taste the passionate orchard
In her body’s secret lair

London
Wrestles with all your demons
Nothing quite compares
To the pain
The indecent pleasure
In the waters that you share

Her name was London
Call her London

She called herself London
On that night
She prayed to the moon
Apollo’s lyre
Played darkly
In a portent
Of your own doom

The hell she hides
In her soul
Toxic drug you’ll never escape
You crave the milk of her touch
Her strange and dangerous ways

London
Kisses you like a sweet lover
As though she really cares
Lets you
Taste the passionate orchard
In her body’s secret lair

London
Wrestles with all your demons
Nothing quite compares
To the pain
The indecent pleasure
In the waters that you share

Her name was London
Call her London

My baby, London
Call her London
My moon-girl, London
Call her London

I love her, London
Call her London
Forever, London

I call her London……

Rhythm of Life

Death instills the final emotion, defining the rhythm of life,
While understanding its passage is left to a wiser man;
The simplicity of a moment lays deep within, and is limited to the meaning
withheld’
But we may all be gone in a moment, condemned to the changing time …
Yet when I die just dig a hole and throw in my mangy bones

Death mocks us in the starlight, and beckons on the suns rebirth,
Silent thoughts are thus imposed, when loud a church bell sounds,
In melodic rhyme the rhythm of time, came out over a graven mist,
And how bitter the solitude foretold, when morn led on to day …
But when I die just dig a hole and throw in my mangy bones

Death remains an enigma once held to a passing thought,
When lines of an ancient mariner are lost forever more;
Structured words are what our mind recalled, and are played to the rhythm of
life
And intent we are to things unseen when sunrise turns to day…
Yet when I die just dig a hole and throw in my mangy bones

Rose Hips Lady

Rose hips lady
Your field is ripe
Bury my torn body
In that rain-soaked night

Taste those sweet confessions
On your baby breath
Lift this wounded flag
Into your burning nest

Oh, yes, I will
I will

Rose hips lady
Your field is ripe
Bury my torn body
In that rain-soaked night

Tame the roaring tiger
Never lets you rest
Take my last reward
From your moonlit breasts

Oh, yes, I will
I will

Daddy’s gone hunting
He’s gone away
Daddy’s gone hunting
Won’t be back for days

Left you with a lover
Makes a shrine
Of your skin

Left you with a lover
Takes you down
Roads of sin

Left you all alone
Alone

And the knots cut deep
Through the musk and flesh
Of hot regret
And the love you need
It’s a shadow
Never lets you rest

You release the Beast
From a well that’s wet
You will confess
That the love you need
It’s a shadow
Never lets you rest

Rose hips lady
Aaaaaah......

To Music

Sweet sounds so dear—
Pure timeless tones of gladness—
Your melodies bestir my soul to flight—
Through darkest night
And doleful days of sadness—
I thank you for my hope and banished fear,
Oh precious music, mine to hear.

In sorrow born—
From dust to dust we wander,
Lamenting, all too late, come winter frost,
The springtime lost.—
Our lives we vainly squander.
The mourning bells do toll for us, forlorn.—
Oh may we hark to heaven's horn!

Sweet sounds so dear—
Pure timeless tones of gladness—
Your melodies bestir my soul to flight—
Through darkest night
And doleful days of sadness—
I thank you for my hope and banished fear,
Oh precious music, mine to hear.

– Harley White

Where the Leprechauns Play

I tip toe through the darken forest
Shhhh! This is my favorite tune
Notes astray from a thickset underbelly hollow
It’s like gold on the wind that’s spun anew

A snap of fingers and click of heels
Beneath a toadstool where I see mighty movement
It’s a belly aching fiddler conspiring with wee laughter
And my feet begin to dance a merriment enchantment

This time I’m absolutely sure
I’ve found their little hiding place
Where all the Leprechauns go at night
At the rainbow’s end to drink green beer and sing

My legs won’t even begin to stop
As they jig me into woodland further and further within
Closer to those little devils and their hidden sacred spot
I knew the magic of the Irish music would be death of me yet

Voice in the Night

How do I thank
The voice in the night?
Call of hope
After the world turned dark

How do I thank
The voice in the night?
Healing words
Made from
Angel heart

Oh, her chocolate whisper
Warm convincing breeze
Oh, her breathy laughter
In the shadow of my need

Don’t you hear the voice?
Save  you from despair
Don’t you hear the voice?
Sent by ghosts who care

Don’t you hear the voice?
Rises like a prayer
Come to rescue you
From your earthly snare

How do I thank
The voice in the night?
Call of hope
Kissed my tears away

How do I thank
The voice in the night?
Now I dance
To a magic serenade

Don’t you hear the voice?
Memories of home
Don’t you hear the voice?
Pretty as a poem

Don’t you hear the voice?
Vivifies your soul
Bathes you in a pool
Love you’ve never known

How do I thank
The voice in the night?
Call of hope
After the world turned dark

Voice inside the darkness
Gets into my head
Lady caller,
Take me, take me
To your bed

Voice inside the darkness
Gets into my head
Lady caller
Raise me, raise me
From the dead

Voice inside the darkness
Gets into my head

Zero

I was born pale and invisible
In a world
Sees everything
Everything, everything….but me

Invisible to your touch
And doubt you’ll like me very much
Am I alive?
Was I ever me?

I’m a non-existent cipher
A pointless empty zero
Never added up to anything
A non-existent cipher
Pointless empty zero
Tell me….what does it all mean?

And now I think I want you
Ethereal body
Oblivious mask
And now I think I love you
Intelligent lips
Painted in black

But no need to look my way
Or give me the time of day

Can’t be with you
In this world
Invisible man
Never gets the girl

Oh, no...

I’ll find where you are
And watch from afar
You will be felt by me

I’ll find where you are
And watch from afar
You will be loved by me

Your
Zero
Tonight
Your
Zero
For life
Your zero
The day I die

Your zero….your zero

Zero

After the Rock Concert is Over

   The heights were reached

         with the help of hasheesh

but the dancing and

    the sound

has stopped

   The crowd in the park

        exits

and silence takes over

    once again

   Do you sincerely believe

that all pain

    was negated by the deafening sound?

Well, it was great

    but one must answer to fate

  ONE MUST ANSWER TO FATE!

Remembering those days

Remembering those days

I’m remembering those days
That I’d be there on that stage
Blowing a storm on the old blues harp
Oh man, I used to rage
Some said that I was the best
And I loved that ego boost
So I would wail those blues notes out
All hanging kind of loose.

The folk would come and buy me drinks
And praise me up a bit
And I would smoke the wacky baccy
Oh man, I really loved it
And then I’ get so bloody soulful
I’d forget just where I was
My eyes all closed my body swaying
Like a man completely lost.

Sometimes I’d open up my eyes
And folk were standing there
All their dancing stopped by me
With people everywhere
Just watching me the way I played
Entrancement on their dials
Then afterwards they’d buy me beer
And everyone was smiles.

But then I’d get stuck in the booze
And my head would start to spin
And with my big, loud cockney mouth
I’d raise a lot of din
Always got myself in trouble
Cause boy I loved me grog
I guess I’ve settled down a bit
Life’s really tamed this dog.

Gentle music

Gentle music

Always I’ve loved music
How I love to write those songs
I love to bash on the old guitar
And sing my words so strong
But gentle always does it
Sheer noise, I cannot stand
I love a real sweet melody
With a lovely soft, sweet band.

It seems the melody has gone
From music, now these days
Everyone just screams and shouts
Their minds all in a haze
From every kind of booze and drugs
All sweetness played right out
The young guys call it music
But me, I have my doubts.

I write my songs with sweetness
The words as plain as day
I need to get my words across
Not put folk in a daze
I want to see folk happy
Not doped out of their heads
I’m not out to feed the mind
I choose the heart instead.

Tribute to bob Dylan

Tribute to Bob Dylan

I remember well when I was young
And music was my thing
There was Billy, Elvis Cliff Richard
And to me these guys did bring
Wonderful moments in my life
As I bought all of their stuff
But then this other guy came out
And Lord, that was enough

My interest it went to him
Who changed the status Quo
His name it was Bob Dylan
And me I watched him grow
From a young folk star, to a rock legend
He did change music’s face
As he prophesized some potent things
That would touch the human race.

He told us in his screaming voice
[As he played his mystic role]
That all the sons and daughters
Would be out of our control
He sang of the whole world changing
And I’m seeing that come true
Oh Yes, that old Bob Dylan
I loved what he did do.

the poverty blues song

I've got damp on my walls and cobwebs in the hall
got a rat in the kitchen
where the cockroach crawl.
I got holes in my shoes
where my toes peep through
I got a bad case of the poverty blues.

I got a crack in my bathtub and bed bugs in my bed
I got things crawlin through my hair
that make me scratch my head

Got piles of bills collected by my door
the one's I should have paid a year or two or more.
I try to get myself sorted
but always seem to lose
I got a bad case of the poverty blues.

Guitar.

I got trouble in my hovel
and the place could do with a good clean
I may not be superman
but I try the best I can
I just find things so hard to do
Guess I got a bad case of the poverty blues.

Some people call me lazy
but I sure ain't crazy
I;m a man alone in the world what can I do
I got a bad case of the poetry blues.

I'd love to meet a girly
who could cook and clean
with lots of money
so I could live my dreams
one thet would say I do
so I no longer got to sing the poverty blues
say I no longer got to sing the poverty blues uesssssssssssssss.

Give Me a Shot

As soon as I walk in,
you walk right up to me;
And I know what I want,
but you ask me what I need.
I know you're just doin' your job,
and I'm just doin' mine,
but I cannot help but wonder if you're open, come closin' time.

There aren't many people,
with whom, I get along;
And there are even fewer,
for whom, I'll write a song,
but you like to hear me sing,
and I like to watch you pour.
I wonder if there's something that we both would like much more.

Hey, bartender. Would you wait on me?
I guess I'll just have to wait and see.
But I don't care if it's last call or not -
Hey, bartender. Would you give me a shot?

Let's make a toast: To making the most of most.
Let us not look to see. What will be, will be.

So, when you close out my tab,
and I ask for one more thing;
And say, "Could you call me - a cab?"
'Stead of "Call me in the morning."
'Cause I don't wanna go too far,
but I don't wanna go without;
So, if I am where you are,
please, bartender, don't close me out.

Ode to a rock song

He thought he was a poet
but turned out to be a lyricist
He didn't even know it
Until his words were on the hit list

He wrote sonnets a-plenty
Rhyme and meter sublime
They made songs of almost twenty
Without paying him a dime!

He woke up to it all too late
He dozed too long, too ignorant
But such is the blind fool’s fate
If of worldly ways indifferent

“how I missed my ultimate calling!”
he wailed and cried and sobbed
as he heard his words on beats a-falling
Of honor and credit robbed

The producers made a killing
The poet died in debt
But the words stayed alive and thrilling
On vinyl’s preciously kept

In the end the poet was rewarded
By life’s eternal song
And posthumously awarded
Credit that tried to right the wrong

But far above the earthly sky
Looking down upon the thieves
No tears were there to cry
As he sat under Abraham’s eaves

Seeing the producers one by one
Shedding their fleshy pants and top
To be wrapped in burning flames and sun
Wailing and crying for a single drop

How I met the blues

How I met he blues

I remember as a kid
I loved the Presley stuff
I listened to his wondrous songs
And could not get enough
But then I heard him sing this song
The greatest song I’d heard
It was a song all filled with blues
I hung on to every word.

“Well that’s alright Mama”
I heard old Elvis sing
It filled my heart and touched my soul
Such joy to me did bring
Then I knew that I was hooked
I loved those blues, did I
They seemed to melt into my soul
I’ll love them till I die

I’d listen to old Muddy
And Buddy, and Freddie too
And little Walter on the harp
And many more Blues men too
So I’d like to thank old Elvis
For showing me the way
To the greatest music on this planet
I love it more each day

Boyfriend

This was not what I planed
It was never my intention
I went to see a concert with my friend
Along with his cute cousin

This is not something I’m used to
But I went to take you for a run
My amazement for you
Caught your attention

Yes I do know your name
I love you to death
You are my experimental gain
Relax, its human nature

It’s not what nice boys do
But we’re not all good
In fact we’re quite wicked
It’s hard to behave

Parents say that’s so wrong
Wrong to love someone
Someone who is gay
Gay is what I am

Deja Vu (Song)

I gave you all of me,
Your wants became too much,
And all of my somethings
You saw as not enough,
But now you are wanting,
Everything you passed up,
Your lies are frustrating,
But still I can't pass up,

This pain, this place,
Is looking too familiar to me,
The same mistakes
Are coming back around,
Your games, your face,
Are secretly whispering to me,
I can't escape,
Because emotions tear me down,

Hold on, hold on,
Tell me what I'm running into,
Stay gone, stay gone,
Is what I want to do,
So long, so long,
Why can't I say these words to you,
When I know, I know,
This will be Deja Vu

As I am anticipating
Loving you and no one else
My entire body's shaking,
Because I promised myself,
That I would never be back here,
A toy sitting on your shelf,
We always begin in last gear,
By later, there's nothing left...

This pain, this place,
Is looking too familiar to me,
The same mistakes
Are coming back around,
Your games, your face,
Are secretly whispering to me,
I can't escape,
Because emotions tear me down,

Hold on, hold on,
Tell me what I'm running into,
Stay gone, stay gone,
Is what I want to do,
So long, so long,
Why can't I say these words to you,
When I know, I know,
This will be Deja Vu

Why am I
Addicted to you,
Saying goodbye
never comes true,
This is what
it always comes to,
You constantly on my mind!

Why must I
stay thinking of you
Coming back
Thinking I love you
Losing control
when I touch you,
Wasting all of my time...

This pain, this place,
Is secretly whispering to me
Your games, your face,
Are looking too familiar to me,
The same mistakes
Emotions seem to tear me down,
I can't escape
It's coming back around,

Hold on, hold on,
is all I ever do for you,
Stay gone, stay gone,
I do and don't want you to do,
I love you, I hate you,
Everything I say is true,
I hate you, I love you...
This is our Deja vu....

Evolution of Rock

Tin Pan Alley is out of business, shut up and closed down,
The English collected millions, pounds and pounds,
America owned it, the best songwriters live,
They gave their souls, but they still couldn’t give.

The King is now gone and his songs remain,
The covers flew in again and again,
His band, revolution, rock was invented,
But his life was short, his heart needed stented.

Folk came along with old songs and tradition,
A man came along and blew it into remission,
A duo across the sea wrote and wrote,
And their songs, their own voices spoke

In the year of ‘63, the man had grown,
With heart and soul, and songs of his own.
Singing and writing he’ll spend his days,
No one can write what this man plays.

Throughout the next years, music grew,
Tin Pan Alley received what was due,
Men lost money and the country went to war,
And the songs started to mean more and more.

Progressive, alternative, jazz and art,
Rock has evolved into colorful parts,
And through it all his spirit remains,
And revolution is renewed again.

The Flautist

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~THE FLAUTIST  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 THE FLAUTIST fluently flaunted her flute- Music flew faultlessly through the airwaves,flying fluidly above the noise of the blustering city
THE fLAUTIST created a calm fragrance,who's flavor of creativity fell-well onto your soul creating a soul stirring calmness across the city.
She played her flute clean into the night  vehemently, over the feverish chaos - And the people in the park and  in the city could hear clearly as they walked in rhythmic tunes/ She flaunted her music like sweet low hanging fruit, Her music dangled beautiful and singly.  She alone,Solo-ed notes of delightful serenity-
  The flautist moved the masses to a state of bliss;Like free kisses flying in the wind landing on ears conquering and engaging spirits ,conquering pandemonium with her flute, she blew her flute... SHE BLEW HER FLUTE, and we marched and listened obediently . She blew her flute and we marched magnificently to her concert.
THE MAINTOP BALLADEER
There’s a man I’d like you all to meet whose Aussie through and through,
From his felt hat to his R.M. boots, he ridgy didge, true blue.
He was born in Roma, Queensland, back in nineteen thirty-three
And his parents were from sturdy stock, a pioneer family.
Station life was in this young man’s blood and one can understand
Why he took to writing lyrics based on things he knew first hand;
Those loved tales of some lad’s ‘Silver Spurs’, the ‘Rutland Rodeo’
And ‘A Time When I Was Mustering’ he penned so long ago.
Chorus
Yes, his heart is in his lyrics this tall man from Injune way
And he’s had his songs recorded by top artists in his day.
Yes, Wave Jackson loves his ballads and mate let me make this clear
 He’s admired in music circles as the Maintop Balladeer.
Old Mac Cormack and Joe Daley both wrote lyrics by the score
And along with Wave and Coster … hell  they made an awesome four.
They all had their songs recorded by Slim Dusty through the years
And these men are all respected to this day by all their peers.
Wave continues this tradition and he still writes to this day
And now picks and strums a Maton in the true bush ballad way.
You will find him at most Musters and he’s happy as can be
As today he shares his talents on his very own CD.
Yes, his heart is in his lyrics this tall man from Injune way
And he’s had his songs recorded by top artists in his day.
Yes, Wave Jackson loves his ballads and mate let me make this clear
He’s admired in music circles as the Maintop Balladeer.
Wave has travelled ‘round Australia and he’ll tell you that he’s sold
On the fact there lots of songs out there just waiting to be told.
He then proved this down in Tamworth when he won a gold guitar
And of all his fine achievements it’s the best he says so far.
It has been a wondrous innings for this gentleman of song
And I hope things will continue and his journey will be long.
He’s a real true blue Australian and they are but far and few
And I’m proud to have him as a mate and share his song with you.
Forget About Me (Does He?) (Song)
Girl it's been awhile,
Since we loved now,
But I'm lying here tonight,
Thinking of you,
Wanting to touch you,
Dreaming of holding you tight,
Girl we were so young
But we were ready,
To give ourselves to one another,
I had to call you,
Because I saw you,
And it seems you have a new lover,
And I'm wondering,
Is he loving you?
Like I used to do?
Does he make you see,
how we used to be?
Does he care for you?
Is he there for you?
Does he....
Help you forget about,
Me and you?
If he only knew,
how we used to be,
girl just you and me,
Now I'm missing you
while he's kissing you,
Does he...
Help you forget about me?
See, I don't want to cause,
any downfalls,
I just had to speak my mind,
Because I love you,
Still thinking of you,
Even after all this time,
Just want to show you,
That I still know you,
You are always in my thoughts,
And you will always be,
the world to me,
No matter how much time is lost,
So, I'm wondering,
Is he loving you?
Like I used to do?
Does he make you see,
how we used to be?
Does he care for you?
Is he there for you?
Does he....
Help you forget about,
Me and you?
If he only knew,
how we used to be,
girl just you and me,
Now I'm missing you
while he's kissing you,
Does he...
Help you forget about me?
