Yours
In the dark moments of the soul
I shall be your light.
I will hold you fast
Beside you in those lonely avenues.
I shall be your companion and comfort
and when you weary
I shall carry you.
Your staff and shield bearer
shall I be.
Warmth against the cold of night
and your shade in the heat of day.
My listening heart and steady hand are yours
even into the valley of shadows
you will know.
And thus when the death-dew
lies cold on my brow
If ever I have loved you
Know this,
Tis now.
